#medea #my art #cw blood #cw mild nudity #euripides medea #greek tragedy #greek theatre #this play is Female Rage by excellence #hmm yes the blood of her sons on her face hands breasts and belly the parts of her body that her children knew the most yes indeed #im really proud of this #:)#lots of symbolism here #the red shawl is her hate while the black one is a mourning blanket #it's dwarfed by her heartbreak which enveloped her whole and bears no blood bc it's already red #her eyes are golden like Circe's who's her kinswoman #the handle of the dagger is Jason who isn't explicitly wounded by her but drove her hand (the blame of the murders actually befalling him)#<that's why it's not bloodied unlike the blade which was used to hurt #her tear washed down the blood on her cheek representing her being absorbed of her crime by both the gods and her grief #on the mural behind her is Medea enchanting the dragon while Jason steals the Golden Fleece #and above (right) is Hera and Iris and (left) Helios in his chariot #with female chorus masks lamenting Medea's crime like the chorus in the play #the pose and expression are inspired by the poster for Médée by Mucha for the Théâtre de la Renaissance starring Sarah Bernhardt #overall proud of this #i think women deserve to go a little mad and violent when they're angry. as a treat #anyway thanks Euripides for the 500bc feminism

Me and the homies I dragged into playing ISAT with me (voice over style) and thus thoroughly infecting them with the ISAT hyperfixation gathered to play poker and so- drew us VAs as the cast give or take some liberties :P

#mirabelle #mirabelle isat #mirabelle chevalier #isabeau #isabeau isat #siffrin #siffrin isat #bonnie #bonnie isat #odile #odile isat #in stars and time #isat #who let a child gamble (these 4 adults)#no money was involved just some very weighty very pretty actual poker chips so that was cool #by 'creative liberties' i mean that me and my friend (we voiced bonnie and odile) were the first ones out (aka why odile is losing)#and i used the time being 'broke' to draw and was deciding between bonnie drawing at the table and odile dealer #or just go with a more in character interpretation of how the two would play poker #you can't see her expression but odile is annoyed she's the first to lose #or on the verge of it #my friend who played isabeau absolutely creamed us and the friend who played siffrin made a chip pyramid #mirabelle is checking because the player for her also played morgan from of the devil so we learnt that check sign :P #also i wanted to draw a serious mirabelle #honestly lowkey (highkey actually) my most favourite part of this is how i drew bonnie's hands #like they're balled fists but also that's just literally a thumb and you'd think it wouldn't work but it DOES and i LOVE IT #kinda like how the actual portraits of bonnie have balled fists but defined fingers regardless but in an original pose :P

I have admired the work of the amazing @anotherwellkeptsecret for YEARS, following her originally from the height of my Sherlock obsession all the way until now where she has (to my delight!) crossed over into Good Omens as well.

She also just had a baby!!!! So partly as a congratulations, partly as a thank you for being such an artistic inspiration, and partly so I could practice my own digital art techniques and play with Procreate for the first time, I asked if she would allow me the privilege of coloring some of her favorite pages from her comics while she's on maternity leave. And she said yes!

But she asked me to pick my favorites instead. So I took her at her word and chose one favorite page from each of the ten comics I have saved and loved over the years.

Exactly two weeks later (and in no particular order) here is the final result!! I am so grateful to Kelley for letting me do this, and I have discovered so much about my own style and what I like (excessive lights, apparently lol). I hope you guys like them as much as I do, and please please please go support Kelley's tumblr and Patreon, she absolutely deserves the world. 💕

Calligos bears a passing physical similarity to Heinrix, and he has a personal ease that Heinrix lacks, with his poor and paranoid conversation. Orica isn't certain what to make of this easy familiarity from her fellow Rogue Trader. (Heinrix does. He doesn't like it.)
