i think the reason "fiction affects reality" trips so many people up is because they think it means "engaging with media that depicts uncomfortable subjects will taint your soul" when really all it means is that "fiction is meant to reflect certain ideas of the world intentionally or not, and it's going affect your perception of it, if you don't go in with a healthy bit of skepticism"

Ahh, finally it’s finished. This is my first Hellsing fanfiction, inspired by this art made by @/cry-ptidd (though I also took a bit of inspiration from these depictions of theirs of Alucard and Anderson’s body types, and borrowed from those ideas as well. Check out their lovely art!)

Note for anyone who might wish to read: please do mind the tags! The “Explicit” rating is not an understatement, and it includes some mentions of a few sensitive topics (though nothing you wouldn’t expect from Hellsing, I imagine.)

What are some good adaptations/interpretations/inspirations of Dracula

Honestly, the only one I can safely recommend from my point of view is DRCL Midnight Children by Sakamoto Shinichi, the author of Innocent, a manga inspired by the novel where the characters are children in a Victorian all-boys school with Mina as the protagonist. It's genuinely fascinating and the characters are actually respected and treated with care, offering very interesting themes and explorations, as well as an enormous amount of diversity in the cast that makes each character feel unique and special.

Aside from that, I don't think I know any that isn't Mina/Dracula forbidden romance or something about the Van Helsings being badass Hollywood actor monster hunters, sadly. Dracula seems to be cursed with the idea that no one ever wants to actually respect the book.
