On November 4, 1977, the television version of the Incredible Hulk premiered. Several changes were made from the comic, including changing Bruce Banner's name to David Banner. In this version, Banner was a scientist who had a lab accident that transformed him into the Hulk. The show took a format similar to the Fugitive. Instead of the years in the time bubble going by like 🫰, what if their lives went on in their heads. What if their bodies were all still kept in unaging stasis, but their minds played out the most perfect versions of their lives.
Billy and Mary got to grow up with their parents, and they lived with them and their uncle and cousin in a by mansion, always happy.
Freddy never lost his parents, and his grandpa never died. Despite not letting his disability get to him, he lives in this mindscape with two functioning legs. Kit is alive.
Ibis and Taia are in ancient Egypt, living out their sublime love life together, with no trace of the memories of their messy relationship.
Ebenezer’s son lived. He isn’t dying of old age in his bed. He’s healthy. He has more money than he could ever want.
Susan Barr is alive. Jim and her raise their daughter, continuing their crime-fighting partnership.
Mr. Morris has his whole family with him. They all live in Fawcett, and he gets to see them whenever he wants.
Sivana’s wife never left him. In fact, he’s a free, good man with all four of his children.
Ibac has never been Ibac. He’s only Stanley Printwhistle, and every insult bounces back on him. He’s sure of himself.
There are others.
The widow from the 1800s who dances with her husband and plays in the courtyard with her children.
The caveman whose family died, crushed under their own home, now with him as he runs to slaughter another bull.
The girl who ran away from her abusive foster home, now reunited with her parents and older sister.
The boy whose war veteran father was a picture perfect cutout, and not an abusive monster who needs to rot in jail.
Over the years, slowly, so very slowly, it all begins to collapse. Because perfection feels wrong, even if you aren’t aware. Because memories can overlap, and they can intersect.
CC Batson is alive, but Billy remembers looking in a mirror and seeing blue eyes instead of green (why does he look in a mirror and see his dad’s face?)
Freddy’s leg feels funny. Always has. He can walk fine, but there’s always a tingling sensation there.
Sivana doesn’t expect all four of his children to be home.
The boy watches his father’s hand carefully in case it speeds toward his cheek. He doesn’t know why.
Over time, their minds break free from their perfect prisons. The real world shows its disgusting face. Fawcett looks just like it always has, but so much…heavier. The leaves have overgrown, and the sidewalk is chipped of its paint.
The dead are dead.
Those trapped in time are still trapped in time.
Some relatives don’t get better.
And Fawcett City’s people must grapple with the fact that their perfectly curated reality was all a lie.
Almost simultaneously, there is an unspoken promise. What happened here will never be spoken of.
They will rebuilt their city. Their lives. And they will move forward. And they will forget what their minds conjured in an attempt to keep them pliant.
It is a closely guarded Fawcett secret, hidden behind their bright smiles and eagerness to move on. They don’t want to think about it.
Sometimes they dream though.
Billy dreams of going to a coffee shop with Mary and mom and dad.
Sivana dreams that he kissed his wife good morning and hopped off to his respectable job.
The runaway girl dreams that she’s only running toward her new home.
But when they wake up, it’s never spoken of again.

I'm finally coming back to try and get all my notes about my Justice League Canada idea posted online. Because keeping it all just stuck in my notes probably isn't great, and at least this way i suppose i'll get to see what people think of my ideas.
Issue #39: The Justice League gets a call from CSIS regarding The Angel of Dawn/Ange de L'aube (Samantha Guizzon). She's gone missing! She was infiltrating a terrorist cell in the prairies, but CSIS unexpectedly lost contact with her recently. And now the government needs the team to track her down.
But while juggling all of this, the league gets another call: the same terrorist cell is operating in the United States. They've infiltrated the border state of Minnesota, and they're trying to agitate people into wanting war! So the Justice League has to split in two: one team to go to Saskatchewan and save Samantha, another to go to Minnesota and prevent the propaganda campaign from setting in.
Also, Sam is conspicuously missing from these issues. He apparently left after the adventure in Nanda Parbat, needing time to meditate on his conversation with The Phantom Stranger. But in any case, Issue #39 focuses mainly on the team in Saskatchewan. But I'll cover all of that under Issue #40.
1. Blue Beetle (Ted Kord)
2. Captain Marvel/Shazam (Billy Batson)
3. Booster Gold (Michael Jon Carter)
4. The Red Bee (Richard Raleigh)
5. The Geomancer (Emily Harrison)
6. Jean Boudreau
Issue #40: The team going off to Saskatchewan to try and rescue The Angel of Dawn consists of Blue Beetle, Booster Gold and The Red Bee. These three manage to work into way into the ranks of a covert fascist terrorist cell based out of Saskatoon, and this leads them to the Angel of Dawn. Samantha reveals that the group eventually learned she was a CSIS agent, and then they did unspeakable things to her. She's in a very weak state now, but she's still capable of putting up a fight.
Now that they've found her, our trio of League members try to escape from the terrorist group's headquarters. They narrowly manage to escape, but little do they know that samantha's body has been stuck with a tracking chip… But for now, we'll leave this team. We'll conclude their storyline in Issue #41. But first, we have to cut to our second team in Minnesota.
1. Blue Beetle (Ted Kord)
2. Booster Gold (Michael Jon Carter)
3. The Red Bee (Richard Raleigh)
4. The Angel of Dawn/Ange de L'aube (Samantha Guizzon)
Issue #40: Our second team of three (Captain Marvel, The Geomancer and Jean Boudreau) head down to Minnesota to investigate the claims of a terrorist group trying to spread division amongst society. While here, Captain Marvel says he needs to call in some favours. That's how we meet the Squadron of Justice, Captain Marvel's home state allies! Ibis the Invincible, Bulletman and Bulletgirl, Mister Scarlet and Pinky the Whiz Kid, and the whole Marvel family!
Together with the Squadron of Justice, our leaguers are easily able to pinpoint the hate group and their plans: they plan to blow up a monument in Fawcett City and blame the Canadians! And on the Canadian side, they plan to blow up the CN tower and blame the Americans! Total war! Knowing they need to stop this, our teams split up. Captain Marvel stays in the states to protect Fawcett City, but Bulletman and Bulletgirl accompany Jean and Emily back to Canada.
1. Captain Marvel/Shazam (Billy Batson)
2. The Geomancer (Emily Harrison)
3. Jean Boudreau
4. Captain Marvel Jr. (Freddy Freeman)
5. Mary Marvel (Mary Bromfield)
6. Bulletman (Jim Barr)
7. Bulletgirl (Susan Kent)
8. Mr. Scarlet (Brian Butler)
9. Pinky the Whiz Kid (Pinkerton Butler)
10. Ibis the Invincible
Issue #41: It's a race against the clock as Emily, Jean, Bulletman and Bulletgirl race to intercept Blue Beetle, Booster Gold, The Red Bee and The Angel of Dawn. Somehow, they've gotta get that tracking chip off Samantha before the terrorists can blow the CN tower sky-high! Meanwhile, Captain Marvel and the Squadron of Justice are busy defending Fawcett City from bombs and terrorists themselves.
1. Blue Beetle (Ted Kord)
2. Booster Gold (Michael Jon Carter)
3. The Red Bee (Richard Raleigh)
4. The Angel of Dawn/Ange de L'aube (Samantha Guizzon)
5. The Geomancer (Emily Harrison)
6. Jean Boudreau
7. Bulletman (Jim Barr)
8. Bulletgirl (Susan Kent)
9. Captain Marvel/Shazam (Billy Batson)
10. Captain Marvel Jr. (Freddy Freeman)
11. Mary Marvel (Mary Bromfield)
12. Mr. Scarlet (Brian Butler)
13. Pinky the Whiz Kid (Pinkerton Butler)
14. Ibis the Invincible
Issue #42: After heroically saving both Toronto and Fawcett City from Calamity, the Canadian and US governments decide to honour the Justice League and the Squadron of Justice. Everyone on the Justice League receives the Order of Canada, and everyone on the Squadron of Justice receives the Presidential medal of Honour! But there's one person who received both: Captain Marvel/Shazam. For his services to both the Justice League Canada and The Squadron of Justice, Captain Marvel receives both honours.
Sadly, Captain Marvel uses this happy moment to tell the Justice League that he's returning to the states. Fawcett City and the Squadron of Justice need him, and he misses home. But if the League ever needs him, just call. He'd come back. But tearful goodbyes are made, as Captain Marvel leaves the Justice League Canada.
But this happy, very celebratory comic ends rather dramatically. It signifies that the book is going to (at least briefly) take a turn for the more dramatic and serious. Because as the justice league returns to their mansion headquarters in Ottawa, a bright flash of light stuns them in the entranceway. And a booming voice brags about how they've just entered into his trap…
1. Blue Beetle (Ted Kord)
2. Captain Marvel/Shazam (Billy Batson) (leaves with this issue)
3. Booster Gold (Michael Jon Carter)
4. The Red Bee (Richard Raleigh)
5. The Geomancer (Emily Harrison)
6. Jean Boudreau

Request guidelines!
(This is a thing I do now!)
I'll write short fics, headcanons, and if you want some info about what someone's deal is in the AU that maybe hasn't come up yet or I haven't explored much, that's also valid and fun. (Who knows, maybe I'll start thinking about your fave...)
I'm trying to keep these fics under 1.5k but like...listen...we'll see...
If something truly doesn't jive with me or I don't think I can make it work, I'll answer the ask letting you know so you're not left wondering. otherwise I intend to work on it. I intend to get these out quickly, but I'll spend the time to make it something I'm happy with before it goes out.
No NSFW, I don't have a problem with it, but I'm really not good at getting it done unless I'm inspired, so for now let's just not.
You can suggest scenarios as well, but I might change those some, but if I accept the request I will follow the spirit of it always.
If there's an idea you're really not sure about, feel free to DM me before you send the ask if that's less stressful.
I'm down to write for DC, Marvel and MHA, I know a fair number of characters and enjoy researching new ones for fics, but DC ideas are more likely to get done, and more quickly likely, as that's where my current fixation is.
Characters that I'm generally excited to write for/have been craving inspiration for:
(DC) Damian Wayne, Billy Batson (and co), Jon Kent, Garth of Shayaris, Kon-El, Bart Allen, Colin Wilkes, Suren Darga, Selina Kyle, Metron, Bekka, Orion, Mr. Miracle, Big Barda, Mr. Terrific, Sinestro
(Marvel) Miles Morales, Peter Parker, Mary Jane Watson, Norrin Radd, Loki, Susan Storm, Darkhawk (yes, really), Various assorted X-Men, Various assorted Eternals
(MHA/BNHA) ...Honestly pretty much any of the students.
...That's it!

"Bamboozled" (2000) is a comedy-drama written and directed by Spike Lee about two homeless street performers who agree to partake in a television network show where they perform in blackface. Spike Lee examines the racist depiction in Hollywood movies featuring Black people in satirical form. Blackface became popular in American Minstrel shows during the early 1800s, many years before emerging in Hollywood movies. But in the early 1900s, blackface appeared more in films predominantly played by White people until Black people, such as Bert Williams, began earning film opportunities in the mid-1910s.
There were two primary types of blackface in early Hollywood. The first was in clown form, using some form of black paint or polish (most common in Minstrel shows), and the other was White people portraying Black people in movies with black makeup. Negative stereotypes in Hollywood movies evolved further into characters such as Lincoln Perry (a.k.a. Stepin Fetchit) or Mantan Mooreland, the central inclination of Lee's film.
Throughout the movie, there are several examples of racist depictions of Black people in film and cartoon form. However, the film analyzes corporate dishonesty, the contentious rap militant group fed up with the show's racist content, and the easily appeased audience. The actors performed very well on a complicated topic. Unfortunately, the film flopped at the box office, grossing $2.5 million on a $10 million budget. The movie requires context and understanding. It's an educational piece of artwork not only from the premise of the film but also the technical mastery in editing and cinematography. The soundtrack was a mixture of hip-hop and R&B, peaking at #60 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart.
Director: Spike Lee Writer: Spike Lee
Starring Damon Wayans, Savion Glover, Jada Pinkett Smith, Tommy Davidson, Michael Rapaport, Thomas Jefferson Byrd, Paul Mooney, Sarah Jones, Gillian White, Susan Batson, Yasiin Bey, M.C. Serch, Gano Grills, Canibus, DJ Scratch, Charli Baltimore, Craig muMs Grant
Storyline Under pressure to help revive his network's low ratings, television writer Pierre Delacroix (Damon Wayans) hits on an explosively offensive idea: bringing back blackface with The New Millennium Minstrel Show. The white network executives love it, and so do audiences, forcing Pierre and his collaborators to confront their public's insatiable appetite for dehumanizing stereotypes.
Available on Blu-ray and streaming services.

Xolo Maridueña takes flight with the Blue Beetle!
Tumblr media
For those Cobra Kai fans out there, you’ll be excited to know that Xolo Maridueña is ready to take on the title of Blue Beetle! He has kicked ass in karate competitions, and now he is taking on the classic DC realm, for a superhero outing that promises a ton of action, and an interesting storyline, one that sees an alien scarab-type relic attaching itself to Jaime Reyes (Xolo Maridueña) in-turn, providing him with some really fun superpowers. https://youtu.be/4wxyy8Rcz4k In the final trailer for the movie, we see Jaime fully embrace his newfound Blue Beetle powers. When it comes to superhero movies, origin stories like this, tend to be the most fun and intriguing to watch. In the trailer, we get similarities to Shazam! When Billy Batson had to get used to his powers, in a really fun way. They were both not ready for these types of powers, but they were also really excited to be taking them on. As the trailer suggests, power like this becomes something many people will pursue. Jaime will be chased down by villain Victoria Kord, played by the fantastic Susan Sarandon. The trailer really stands out, because it shows that the Blue Beetle is more powerful than some superhero fans might be used to. I feel like these kinds of powers are always going to make for a great movie. Jaime can literally imagine any weapon he wants, and the Blue Beetle will make it happen! You even can watch some great examples in the trailer. Blue Beetle promises a ton of action and that could very well mark the beginning of an Iron Man type era for the DC universe. What’s extremely positive with this trailer though, is how DC has stepped up on the CGI once more. After The Flash, fans were rightfully left divided by the CGI in the movie. Blue Beetle looks like things are back on track now in that regard. How will Jaime survive this? How will he protect his family, and will he keep the power of the Blue Beetle? All these questions will be answered in August. Read the full article
