DC Legends: Nightwing
Dick Grayson first appeared as Robin in 1940 as a young orphan taken in by Batman after his circus acrobat parents were murdered. Dick then served as his sidekick for nearly forty years (our world time) before he and Bruce's differences led Dick to strike out on his own, taking up the new mantle of Nightwing.
Most of Dick's physical skill comes from his years growing up in a family of acrobats, though that was then supplemented by training under Bruce and various other mentors over the years. As Nightwing, he also makes use of a lot of the same tech and equipment Batman uses.
In adaptation, I do very much want to subvert most film adaptations' apparent aversion to using even him, leading to most of the Bat Family having slim to no chance of ever appearing. Instead, I would go into it with the primary intention to include them all, meaning I'd probably have to start with Dick already having worked with Batman for years. I might even already have him in the Nightwing role, opening the way for the others to start filtering in.
As for casting, whether you like the Titans series or not, Brenton Thwaites has very much always felt like the perfect casting for him. Every time I see him, I think "Yeah, they had the right idea." So, any replacement should use him as a blueprint. Jacob Elordi's in the right camp, and David Mazouz could be a fun gag casting.

I just love reading posts from @professorspork and @theseerasures about the changing characterization trends and acting choices in Wicked over the years. Glindas becoming weirder yet more sympathetic from the start, Elphaba/Glinda pairings becoming gayer, Nessaroses becoming nicer, Dr. Dillamonds touching their students less... There have been so many interesting patterns! I'd like to learn more and hopefully I will!
As I've been exploring Les Mis recordings from the '80s (audio and video, studio and bootleg), I've been trying my best to do the same and notice trends that are different from the more recent performances I've seen. I've already noticed a few.
For example:
*Less shouting and running around in general, from all the characters.
*Valjean less aggressive in the Prologue – truer to his novel characterization and more polite until the theft of the silver.
*Deeper, richer alto voices for Fantine, in contrast to the more girlish voices of Éponine and Cosette.
*More rugged, emotional, Edith Piaf-type voices for Éponine (whether higher like Frances Ruffelle's or lower like Shlomit Aharon's), rather than clear Broadway-style voices.
*More delicate, classically trained sopranos for Cosette.
*Physically leaner and meaner Mme. Thénardiers, who don't play their lines as much for laughs.
*More robust, manlier voices for Marius, Enjolras, and the students in general – less light and boyish.
*Enjolras usually dark-haired (although the 1987 Hungarian production and the 1988 Vienna production had blonds in the role) and, surprisingly, often a short man. Now, this wasn't universal; Michael Maguire and Anthony Warlow were both tall. But it still seems to have been oddly common for shorter actors to play the role. Were they aiming for a Napoleon vibe?
*Bamatabois less violent with Fantine, not touching her again after she scratches his face.
*Cosette screams when Thénardier shouts her name in "The Robbery."
*More calmness and dignity on the barricade – the students portrayed as stalwart young soldiers, not hotblooded schoolboys who burst into shouts every time something tense happens. Enjolras is sometimes the exception to this rule, though (e.g. David Burt).
*The students laugh and/or cheer after Éponine climbs over the barricade before "A Little Fall of Rain," thinking she made it safely.
*Little to no Enjolras/Grantaire interaction, let alone homoeroticism.
*Enjolras doesn't run to Marius's side when he's shot, but just briefly looks back at him, then gets back to the fight.
*Valjean doesn't physically "die" in the Epilogue – he just shares a last long hug with Cosette as Fantine sings "Come with me..." then stands up from his chair.
As I move into recordings from the '90s, I'll see how long it took for these trends to change, and keep a lookout for other trends too!

jacob elordi and margot robbie starring in yet another whitewashed wuthering heights adaptation which is going to further destroy the public perception of this classic literary work by misleading people into interpreting it as a common bodice ripper bc no one cares about nuance or meaning and all anyone cares about is profit... crying shaking throwing up!!!
it's also really ironic to imagine what heathcliff himself would think about how he's portrayed in media. he hates everyone and would hate more than anyone the fans who romanticize him, just as he canonically hates isabella for adoring him and wanting to believe that he's better than he is — that he is the romantic hero she's made him out to be. how ironic is it that most fans of the work embody isabella? and on that note, how much do you want to bet that isabella will be written out of the story along with most of the other characters plotlines, like how the colonial rhetoric is written out by the fact of elordi's mere presence?
heathcliff is such a wonderfully written character and one of the most iconic in all literary history. he doesn't deserve this chronic mistreatment and neither do any of the other characters. least deserving of all is emily brontë herself who would be continuously disappointed if she were misfortunate enough to have to bear witness to these adaptations. she's actively rolling in her grave as we speak and the producers are parodying heathcliff digging her up so that she can share in the torment they insist upon...

Sir Ben Kingsley was born Krishna Bhanji but changed his name early in his career. After the change, he noticed a sharp increase in job offers, going from being told, "We don't quite know how to place you," to "When can you start?"
