Being an introvert is not about where you get your energy. It's how you handle stimulation. Introverts are energized by people too. We're just easily exhausted by loud parties, close talkers, and endless houseguests. I'm not antisocial. I'm pro-quiet.

I spent so much of my teens convinced I would never make it out of them, and then suddenly I am having dreams of being a mother that aren’t nightmares and learning just how much can happen in eighty years. I’ve found something new to fear—that the time will pass and I will forget there is more to do in life than fear.
There isn’t anything left to do now but fear until I grow brave enough to let it go. I used to dream in stories, in mysteries that never resolved. I used to wake without shaking, and I’m only 24. I used to cling to space between me and the generations that made me as though it were the only thing that would make the messes in me dissipate.

my journey to self-acceptance
- decided i wanted to work on my relationship with myself
- recognized that nobody’s perfect
- realized that people probably aren’t thinking about me and every way i’ve screwed up or made a fool of myself all of the time, so i shouldn’t worry so much about what they think of me
- came up with self-care goals like taking better care of my skin and brushing my teeth twice a day more consistently
- strengthened my support system finally finding a therapist and psychiatrist that really get me and help me understand myself and navigate life.
- had a psychological evaluation at 32 and found out that I have Autism in addition to the ADHD i was diagnosed with at 18. Realized that a lot of my struggles in life were exacerbated due to lack of proper support.
- learned more about myself through reflection, journaling, and research.
- became more clear of my goals in life, organized my ideas, and took steps toward bringing my goals to life like applying for and enrolling in University and starting my newsletter on Substack.
- making the decision to accept and love myself as i am, and enjoy the process of continuing to learn and grow as a person.

I Swear I’m Not Lying Anymore
I would love to say that this blog is the result of deep self-reflection, years of therapy, and a burning desire to live a more authentic life. That would be a fantastic, noble reason to be here. But in the spirit of actually being honest for once, the truth is less glamorous: I have officially lied myself into a corner so tight that there is nowhere left to turn except the truth.
Financial disaster? Check. Relationship fallout? Oh yeah. Existential crisis? Wouldn’t be complete without one. Imagine setting your entire life on fire and then standing in the middle of the wreckage, patting your pockets like, Huh. Where did I put that fire extinguisher? That’s me.
For as long as I can remember, lying has been my go-to coping mechanism. Some people drink. Some people shop. I, for whatever reason, have always opted for pathological deception. Not just white lies, either. No, I went all in - bold, elaborate, unnecessary fabrications that spiraled so far out of control I often lost track of what was real and what was me just trying to sound impressive. Case in point: I once pretended to have a high-paying job for an entire year while in reality, I was unemployed and broke as hell. A YEAR. Do you know how much mental bandwidth it takes to uphold an imaginary career? It’s a full-time job in itself.
So, how did we get here?
Honestly, yesterday, I had a wtf moment—one of those rare flashes of clarity where you zoom out and realize you are deeply tangled in the web of your own creation. The kind of moment where you stop mid-lie, mid-sentence, and think, Wait. What am I even saying? The weight of it all hit me at once: I am exhausted. I am running out of stories. I am on the verge of losing everything that actually matters to me.
Which brings us to this blog.

Are you broken? Or inspired?
Life can feel overwhelming. If this happens to you, don't try to flee this moment too quickly. It's going to guide you, and will leave you once it has inspired your growth.  Sometimes, moments of difficulty inspire our deepest commitments to ourselves. Don't fear your greatness; it's going to expand you.

Have you ever walked a labyrinth? If not, I invite you give it a try. If you have one near you, that's great! If you don't know where to find a labyrinth, look through the "Labyrinth Locator" to discover one. It's a type of walking meditation on a path that spirals in toward a center, then back out again. It's a good way to spend time with yourself, check in with yourself, listen to what your heart and intuition have to say to you.
This past Sunday, 3/30, I was invited to share about my 18+ ~ years walking labyrinths as a Spiritual Practice at our weekly UU church service. I shared the pulpit with several other people who also shared about their spiritual practices. Writing this piece was quite fun, so I published it as a Substack post. If you give it a read, my words might give you a clearer picture of how labyrinths can be approached to support you where you are in this moment.

We’ve been celebrating the New Year at the wrong time.
Ancient civilizations and astrology tell the story of Spring Equinox as the true New Year. Before the Gregorian calendar, the year began in alignment with nature… at a time of balance, renewal, and awakening.
The Equinox is a time of perfect harmony, a bridge between winters stillness and springs growth.
If January’s resolutions felt forced, maybe it’s because your true rhythm awakens with the Earth. Change starts beneath the surface before it blooms.
What if this is your real New Year? Click to read more: From Hibernation to Renewal - Rethinking the New Year
