ppl have asked me this so here ya go!!! tried to go in depth but if there’s anything else u wanna know i totally gotchu !! :3 (go further down for where i shop online)

When thrifting alternative clothes ppl always complain that there’s nothing for them cuz most of the time they’re just not looking right. don’t just look for things you’ve seen online, band shirts, or things with specific design like stripes, cheetah, or zebra print. look for anything literally ANYTHING and if it’s boring and plain just diy it. you want animal print? paint it. you want band shirts? paint it. don’t have the skills? trace it onto paper, cut it out, boom u got a stencil now u can use that to paint onto a shirt.

simple things like cheap blank tshirts, old hand me downs, blank tank tops, spaghetti straps would work perfectly.

i’ve made shirts from an old shirts i find in my house. i cut out a stencil and used cheap fabric paint for the logo’s and cut the shirt if it doesn’t fit right

i’ve also made shorts by cutting a pair of old jeans and distressing them at the bottoms. if i don’t wanna distress shorts i cut them a little longer and then fold the ends up and glue or sew them down (I CAN TOTALLY MAKE TUTORIALS!!)

i ALSO make my own accessories (bracelets, necklaces) from either older accessories, old clothes or whatever i find :b

Things you SHOULD NOT DO!!!

-Don’t but from shein or any fast fashion places/websites!! don’t support that kind of thing especially for some bad quality clothes..

-Don’t buy from thrift stores and resell them online for higher prices !! ur taking from ppl who actually need them and raising the prices of thrift stores. they exist for ppl who can’t afford much and you’re pricing items for more than they ever were.. if ur gna resell then sell them for the price you got them at least ..

Tatreez Bookmarks, I have been inspired by the Palestinian style cross stitch and adapted these design to bookmarks. This tutorial is how I do the backs. You need to cut the aida twice as wide as you need. I have not had any trouble with using fabric glue (found in craft stores). Sometimes, I don't cut the aida wide enough and then I cut a piece of cloth and glue it on the back. These patterns were based on patterns from these websites: tirazain.com, palestinianembroider/tripod.com and a book: Palestinian Embroidery motifs by M. Skinner 2007.

Embroidery Floss Organisers- these help you to keep all of the various colours that you are using in your projects in one convenient place.

Pellon Stick-N-Washaway Embroidery Stabilizer - allows you to trace or print out your design and stick it onto your fabric, stitch over it and then wash it off once you’re done.

I would like to sight seeing for Keiko's exclusive interview contents , magazines . with my bad sense for IT stuffs i cant find any of it on the front page. Hello there! YAY! That's great news! Glad my TUTORIAL was helpful to you. As for your questions....

Uhmmm...Not sure I am understanding you correctly. One of Keiko's nicest fan club benefits is her physical fan club magazine. You won't find the magazine or any exclusive interviews in digital format on the website. Starting from the time of your member registration, the latest issue of her fan club magazine will be sent via mail to your Japanese address about four times a year (in case you have one). Unfortunately, "Meat & Chocolate" doesn't offer the opportunity for new members to purchase old issues of the fan club which is a huge shame in my opinion (Wakana's fan club "Botanical Land" sells magazine back-issues to members in the official shop).

Other benefits include access to advanced ticket lotteries and exclusive videos. You can find all the important links in the "MEMBER'S" section. Please note that the website design is VERY simple so there isn't a good overview available where you can see all at one glance. It's just a collection of posts which you have to scroll through until you reach the end. Currently, there are 32 pages in this exclusive section, mostly made up of links to ticket lotteries, her "Message Movies" and some short text messages.

Make sure you are logged-in with your membership ID and password to access the MEMBERS ONLY section!

As for "YODEL", yes, a separate registration is required since it is a mobile application. However, you do need a "Meat & Chocolate" membership in order to access Keiko's content on the app. When you download the app in your app store and open it for the first time, you will be asked for a serial code to subscribe to a new artist. For Keiko, you will find the code on her "Meat & Chocolate" front page by clicking the little "YODEL" banner. It's a personalised serial code.

Please note that the app is only available in Japanese app stores and it charges a monthly fee of 300 yen which can only be paid with your Japanese account. You won't be able to use a foreign credit card as payment option so you will have to buy Japanese gift cards to add money.

Book Covers

Aka the bane of every writer's existence (minus summaries of course). This was something I struggled with a long time. At first I tried using Procreate but didn't like the way it came out mostly because my art skills are not the greatest lol. So what programs/apps can you use instead?

Canva

Let's start with Canva! Canva has an app and a website and has honestly saved my life in terms of creating book covers. Even if it it's just a temporary book cover to use, this app is pretty cool and is fairly easy to use even if you have no previous editing experience. The downsides? Well, I personally found the interface a little finicky at first which meant doing a few quick googles to figure out how to reorganise layers and whatnot. Using the free version is, of course, limited which means you don't have access to as many graphics as you'd probably like/need so if you can afford it, try and get a subscription going!

But do be aware that not all of these images in the program are copyright free so make sure you own the rights to the images you're planning to use in your final book cover design. I haven't done much research into the legalities of everything just yet so once I do I'll probably make another post dedicated to Copyright.

The covers below were made using Canva just to give you an idea of the kind of stuff you can create.

Photoshop

Always a popular choice and it's easy to see why! I used it quite a bit back in college just because I could and found it cool to learn and use. However this program does require a lot more googling, tutorials, etc, and you'll have to do some research to find images you can use without any copyright issues arising. Since I don't use this program I haven't got any images to give you an example of the stuff you can create.

Desygner

This is another app that is similar to Canva (from what I've managed to gather from some research). It's a good beginner app but does require a strong internet connection and can be slow at times.

Adobe Illustrator

Another classic. This is a vector graphics editor and design tool that allows you to create your own graphics but good lord I found it a pain to use in college. It wasn't that it was hard necessarily and there are definitely benefits especially since you'll be making the designs by hand by yourself which means no copyright issues. It's a brilliant program but can be overwhelming to learn at first.

It also costs money and I made the mistake of googling how much and my bank account is crying xoxoxo

I believe that Wattpad also had a book cover app of some sort but I think it's been removed from the app store? Or maybe it's Desygner now? I have no idea anymore. Anyway, these are just a few suggestions so before deciding what program to use, make sure to do your own research!

Yo. How do you code? (I only know the basics to HTML and CSS :/)

Idk which specific question you’re asking, like like how do I code as in what tools do I use, or what do I do and what is my process, or how did I learn to code, or can you teach me to code

And because I don’t know I’ll answer all of them :3

1. What tools do I use?

I use a few things to code, VS Code for actually writing the code, GitHub for storing projects and collaboration, Google and StackOverflow and depending on the project various other apps

2. How do I do it and my workflow process

Uh I have like no idea, I kinda just learn how certain things work via Google and then I slot them together, But the workflow process, I know exactly how to do that, ok so get a white board or a notepad or something, write what you want your program to do, and then break it down into steps and then break it down again and again, so for example,

For my current project, (The Incorrect Quote Generator), I need to take inputs, from a list of quotes choose one that fits the parameters, replace names in the quote with the inputted ones and then print the whole thing

Breaking down the first bit I need the inputs, what inputs do I need? I need the amount of characters and the names of the characters, ok done, second bit, take the quotes, sort them based off of character amount, using the amount of characters from the previous step, pick a set of quotes that match, replace the names, last bit, take the quote with it replaced and done

Breaking down again, first bit, done already, second bit, do we want something like autocapitalisation to make it nicer , yeah sure, what about capitalising the entire name if it fits the circumstance, makes it smoother, done, last bit done

Ok what about formatting, do we want all of this on one line or do we want separate lines for each person speaking, yeah we want separate lines, ok use an “&” symbol to represent a space and when the piece of code that assembles the end string encounters it, print the string and reset continuing from where we are to make a new line

That’s the design process for that

But first you make a prototype of it, to see if it works, like I didn’t have the autocaps or anything at first, I only added that when one of the submissions needed it

3. How did I learn to code

Through a number of ways, first I had gone to this computer club thing when I was like 8 or something and I found Scratch and learned about that, then when I was about 10 I was curious about html and websites, so I ended up making websites for classmates, then lockdown hit and I had nothing to do, I wanted to make a game, so what did I do? I jumped headfirst into Unity and struggled to get absolutely anything done (DON’T DO THIS), at some point I ended up joining this thing called Coderdojo which is like a coding class which worked really well (I actually still go there every Saturday although I’m at more advanced stuff now) and I learned about python and then kept learning more, then I made my own projects and learned more on my own from that

If you are looking to learn on your own, I’d recommend W3Schools, they have tons of courses, are entirely free and very in depth

But first I’d recommend you check out Scratch, it’s great for learning how to think in computer terms

4. Can I teach you to code

I know this probably wasn’t what you were asking but I’ll answer it anyway

Sure, I’d love to, coding one of the things I enjoy a lot because it combines logic and making things, and I love helping and teaching people things so teaching someone else to code sounds good to me :3

What if Pokemon Unite was an Anime? Part 2: The Setting

As Pokemon Unite is a Free-To-Play MOBA (Multiplayer Online Battle Arena for short), a lot of the background and story is laid pretty bare. You and everyone else are on an island out in the middle of nowhere, and you're here to help the bigwigs running the place measure the Aeos Energy that is running rampant all over Aeos Island.

We know the name of the island and the names of the head researchers running the place, as well as a few locations that serve as the battle arenas, but that's it. We aren't all that privy to how these facts tie together, or how this society of pokemon trainers function without authority figures running the place. It's no surprise that the story serves the bare minimum for the players on the outset before occupying their time with battles and shopping, but we can do better.

I, for one, know we can do better. Fanfiction writers like myself have a habit of filling in the blanks for these sparse stories, so working on the finer details will be easy.

But I'm not here to fill in every nook and cranny of this fictional setting. We're just going to establish the world that this Pokemon Unite Anime takes place in, and fill in the blanks later.

So, when you play Pokemon Unite for the first time, you'll be greeted by both Professor Phorus and Assistant Researcher Erbie. These two are both the face of Pokemon Unite, essentially, as not only are they the ones who discovered Aeos Energy, but they're also the ones who invented Unite Battles. They also pretty much run the whole island, if the official manga is anything to go by. (Ah, Pokemon Unite does indeed have its own official manga on the official Pokemon Website. That fact always surprises me when I remember it.)

But there's the fact that we seldom see these two in game once we make it past the Tutorials. While Erbie runs the Unite License shop, Professor Phorus stays occupied in her lab, presumably, nose deep in Aeos Energy research notes. This doesn't really make them personable characters for an Anime, but I don't see much of value lost here. I mean, the Anime is going to focus on the Player Character more than the Unite Committee Staff, so it's better for us that these two are as hands off as they are.

The trainers do interact more with the shopkeepers, though, Zirco especially. He even has his own chapter in the official Pokemon Unite manga, complete with a hole-in-the-wall shop. Although he may appear to be standoffish, he adores pokemon and dotes on them for their cute appearance. It's even implied that he invented the holowear, meaning that all holowear in the game was designed by him.

The female shopkeeper with the Chatot doesn't have a name yet, and yet she is mostly responsible for much of the economic flow of coin on the island, since she sells Hold Items, Battle Items, clothes, and Item Enhancers. Though she calls them 'merch' in the Pokemon Unite manga, we can presume that she also sells daily essentials like groceries and medicine, and other non-essential items you'd find in a thrift store. We have to assume that this is all stuff sold off-screen, because remember that the pokemon trainers are physically on the island, meaning that they have to get their food somewhere.

With the Unite Committee Staff present and accounted for, we need to go over the location of the Anime. Now, I don't know if you think an island has to be small, but given the size of the battle arenas you fight in, it's hard to imagine Aeos Island being all that big. And yet, it has multiple stadiums and even a Sky Ruins floating around above it. It wasn't until Chapter 4 of the Pokemon Unite manga that we actually got a good look at the island from a plane's point-of-view (pictured above).

You can see Remoat Stadium down South, where all of the Ranked Matches played out up until it was switched to Theia Sky Ruins. Near that is Mer Stadium, a little further out on the shoreline, which explains all the boats on the maps and all the Drednaw that keep showing up down there. Further inland is Auroma Park where the Quick Battle with the conveyor belts is established (why does a park need treadmills?).

Not shown is Shivre City, though it is presumably up in the mountains where the climate gets cold. There are two different arenas for Shivre City, one for the regular Quick Battle and the other for the Panic Parade mode that ended a while ago. Also the fact that these maps are called Shivre 'City' implies that this is where most of the Trainers live when not participating in Unite Battles.

(Look, you can even see a car in the background there.)

Now, this does seem to imply that these places function as normal areas of leisure when the place isn't crawling with competitively charged pokemon battles, which means that these Quick Battle arenas are open for competition on a set schedule. This...actually tracks gameplay wise, because if you were to boot up Pokemon Unite right now, the Quick Battle modes operate on a timely schedule. Only one arena is available per day to play on. This is presumably to perform regular maintenance on the other arenas when they aren't on the schedule, and also to allow the trainers themselves to populate the arena for their socializing needs.

Speaking of schedules, it always seems like Remoat Stadium and Theia Sky Ruins are always open for battles, but that's from the perspective of the human players, us, signing up for Unite Battles from the game's menu. Considering that this is where all of Ranked Matches take place, we can assume that these arenas undergo rigorous daily maintenance after each battle. Pokemon Battles in the anime undergo this same routine maintenance, since the arena is subject to earth tremors, flash floods, lightning strikes, and colorful terrain. They always fix it by tilling the earth or just by outright swapping out the ground itself. I don't think a switch of that scale would work for the arenas in Pokemon Unite, so maybe they've got tillers and steamrollers around to fix the ground after each battle.

Also, we never see these arenas played at night (except for Shivre City, but maybe it's always overcast or something), which supports my theory that these Unite Battles operate on a strict schedule. (It could just be that the devs are just lazy about changing the light setting for the map...)

There are more things to cover, like how the Trainers are supposed to sign up for Unite Battles, or what benefits are granted to each trainer for reaching certain Ranks, or even how they get from stadium to stadium without an established taxi service, but that's a discussion for another time. We got what we came here for, the characters, the setting, the rules, probably, we've got all that we need to make a Unite Anime. This foundation is what we'll build off of when we go over the main cast and their conflicts.

I currently have no dedicated tutorial for Yuki's official fan club, FictionJunction Station. However, many years ago, I made a very detailed post about Kalafina's fan club "Harmony". That post was meant to help people navigate the site and register as member. Even though "Harmony" no longer exists, the basic steps described in my tutorial still apply to both Wakana's fan club "Botanical Land" as well as Yuki's fan club "FictionJunction Station". All these websites are designed by the same company, SKIYAKI, so the basic structure is the same.

Here are some main requirements before you start〈(•ˇ‿ˇ•)-→

Credit Card: They do accept overseas credit cards as payment option so you'll be fine with that

Japanese Address: Find a forwarding/proxy service that will arrange everything for you. There’s tenso.com for example. You can get a Japanese address on this page which you can then use to buy things at various websites. That address can also be used to become a fan club member. They will not do transactions for you (as in, buy stuff for you, apply at ticket lotteries), they simply provide an address, store your stuff in case you buy anything and later send it to you. All your stuff will be sent to that address and then they will ship it to you (you can choose from various shipping methods). Payment for goods is also possible via credit card so you can have the merch sent to your TENSO address as well. Then there are sites like www.sosjapan.jp which will do pretty much everything for you (including payments). They will register for you under your name. They will apply for lotteries/pre-order/buy tickets or merch for you. This may actually be a better option for you but that's something you'll have to decide.

Step 1. Get your SC ID. An account will be issued by acquiring an SC ID (it’s free to do that!) which is required to use the service of this site. Simply click on the “new registration” button and enter your e-mail address and a password. A confirmation e-mail will be sent, by clicking the link in the mail, the first part of the registration process is completed. After logging in with your SC ID, you can access “My Page”.

Step 2: Confirm your e-mail address. After you have confirmed your e-mail address you’ll receive another mail stating that the registration of your SC ID was completed. You may log in now with your mail address and password. Be aware that your registration process is not done yet. Next up you should go to “My Page” to enter all your information.

Step 3: Go to “My Page” to enter all your information. Regarding the name, just enter your name in Roman letters first and then in katakana (Google Translate can help you get a katakana version of your name). As for the address, the Japanese address system is quite complex and can seem intimidating at first glance but Tenso provides a few tips on how to enter it properly so be sure to check them out.

Step 4. Confirm the information and continue to the payment method. It’s super simple. You have the option to pay with credit cards which is really the only option that is of interest to us. Simply choose your credit card and enter all the important data. On the right you’ll see the details for your payment (admission fee + annual fee, no extra fees). There's also an option to enable an automatic renewal of your membership. Only possible if you are paying with credit card. Once your year is almost over, the yearly fee will automatically be transferred from your credit card. I guess this comes in quite handy if you are prone to forget things like that easily. Lastly, there’s a button to confirm the transaction and then I think you’ll be asked one last time to confirm all your data and THEN it’s DONE. You are officially a member! You’ll be transferred to a page stating that the process is finished and listing some of the important data. You’ll also receive an e-mail welcoming you to the fan club and summarising all your information (=> member number, expiration date, payment details, payment method)

Please also keep in mind that often, a fan club membership will not be enough to get concert tickets. Most fan clubs will use one of Japan's common ticketing services for their lotteries. With FJS it's usually Lawson Ticket or e+. It can be very difficult to register for these site since they require verification via SMS/phone call (Japanese phone numbers only!!) The payment for tickets is also pretty much impossible for overseas fans. If you are uncertain about any of this and not willing to jump through many hoops, I recommend you look into proxy services like SOSJapan (as mentioned above).
