yes i have personal & intimate reasons for my own (lack of) religious/supernatural beliefs, but it's not dishonest to admit: i am also an atheist bc at no point in my life have i, after completing a slightly unpleasant task, been witness to an angel/imp/sprite/devil/entity-of-any-kind manifesting in all their glory to offer me a pat on the head and a little plastic baggy of crackers (by way of encouragement/reward).
call me childish but in my heart of hearts i cannot truly participate in a belief system that tolerates such negligence

Your desires are not miles away. They are vibrations away. Alignment collapses time. Miracles happen in an instant.

Hatred is the opposite of understanding. In fact, hatred is the *refusal* to understand. Part of understanding is to feel compassion. Have you ever felt the anger evaporate the moment you *understood* something or someone you hated?
This applies to self-judgement: if you hate yourself, that means you don't understand yourself. Hatred is a distortion of the truth. You can't see yourself clearly through hating eyes. Let go of self-judgement to heal.

Your purpose is to see the world through your own holiness…You are holy because your mind is part of God’s.
Your holiness is the salvation of the world. It lets you teach the world that it is one with you, not by preaching to it, not by telling it anything, but merely by your quiet recognition that in your holiness are all things blessed along with you.

How is it that we so often take the Mother Earth and its myriad wonders for granted, failing to marvel at its beauty and magic each day? Look around at the magnificent nature, all the wondrous creatures, the very air we breathe, and the food that sustains us. Even our own bodies, functioning like intricate machines, are miracles in themselves. How can we not pause each day to stand in admiration, to honor this world in all its complexity, from the grand, macro scale to the delicate, micro level?

I figure it's a good time to talk about why the argument from miracles is not the slam dunk argument for one's religious beliefs that people think it is.
First, you have to establish that the miracle actually happened. Anecdotes and testimonials are not data. We also know that (for example) works such as the Gospels contain a number of non-historical stories that developed based around a newly-evolving sense of theology. (I recommend Bart D. Ehrman's How Jesus Became God for more on this topic.)
Secondly, you also have to demonstrate that said miracle actually signifies what you claim it signifies. People belonging to many forms of spirituality report miraculous events, and there's plenty of old stories about divine beings walking among us, miraculous resurrections, etc. Many Christians try to get around this with some form of special pleading, claiming that other people's miracles are fictitious, hoaxes, or the work of Satan. But it's just that - special pleading. Moreover, it's a form of special pleading that is extraordinarily xenophobic, reflecting a type of highly polarized worldview that has already been proven unjustifiable in many other contexts. An event being supernatural (or at least appearing supernatural) should not be reason to suppose that this time, the xenophobia is actually justified.

[Episode 6 - Signs, Miracles, & Prayers]
This podcast episode was reposted with the image.
I talk about signs and miracles and remembering to pray to God. I go into how God expects us to do things for ourselves, but he also desires that we remember that nothing can be done without God. And I ask the question, "Jesus died for our sins, what does that mean to you?"

We waste so many days waiting for the weekend, so many nights awaiting morning. Our lust for future comfort steals our attention from the present moment, redirects our attention from our daily blessings, from unfolding miracles. Our lust for the future is the biggest thief of life.
