Tory (Toby's fem name, full name is Toriel. Notice how both 'y' in toby and tory change when their full name is said. Example: Tor*y* Tor*i*el, Tob*y* Tob*i*as. It's a nice little detail heh) she's like pansexual and has short hair and the thing is I can't choose between wavy short hair or curls... What do you think??? Anyways I've hc-ed her to have like 2-3 personalities? One of them is actually just age regression so it doesn't really count as a personality, but she does have a different clothing style while she's regressing. Also I think you already know why I hc her to have age regression, she wants to make up for her non existent childhood and stuff. She has a personality which is the one she uses the most, it's like a "mask" yk? The thing is; whenever she puts on her goggles and mouth guard she turns into a whole different person, almost like fanon Tory or should I say Toby, ykwim? Her other personality is her true personality and it's lowkey like, depressed af, it's giving angsty teenager type shit. Also she has two clothing styles, one is like giving nana from nana and hachi, all pink and cutecore and shit (this is mostly because of her age regression, but I think she secretly likes it outside of agere) and the other one is grunge. she wears like jorts most of the time and baggy t-shirts

I gotta study a little more to see what best fits everyone, since I haven't really studied tarot, but I have looked a little bit into assigning some of them before - for a Persona AU, of all things. I was half tempted to grab my cards, shuffle the major arcana, and just deal some out and assign as I went, but that doesn't feel right, lol! So I asked a pal who's interested in tarot if they had any insights, and we came up with a few.

Here's what I feel is right so far!

Thea Yuuni - the Fool

Like most Yuus, Thea is at the start of a new life story. She's innocent, despite having lived so long, due to her unicorn nature. She's setting off on her adventure, with her little dog? Cat??? direbeast at her side. Because her knowledge of human foibles is minimal, she can be seen as free of those social restrictions, to a point. And she can be reckless, unaware of threats.

Joker Carder - the Lovers

Joker's purpose in this world is three-fold. She's gonna make some music, she's gonna feed people, and most of all, she's gonna spread love around like crazy. Much like her twin brother, she finds it easy to make connections with people. And her heart is fueled by friendship and romance! The Lovers is all about harmony; bringing different elements together to create something greater and more beautiful. That's what Joker wants to do with her life!

Punch Carder - Temperance

Patience, balance, moderation. All traits that an inventor needs in order to be successful, and all parts of Punch's personality. He's the solid center of his friend group, and like his twin sister, he's a harmonizing element among disparate personalities. Punch doesn't like making waves, and prefers calm and peace to fighting things out. Which isn't to say that he doesn't have his passions! But he does his best to make sure that he has balance in his life.

Hiro Vanderveer - Strength

I admit, it was a toss-up for this little guy. His cheerful personality had initially suggested the Sun, but once Strength was brought up, I couldn't look back. Hiro is a happy guy, sure. But he also has the kind of self-confidence and compassion for others that will eventually make him into a leader, and the bravery to calmly get himself firmly inserted into a brutal, competitive field. Theater is not for wimps! He'll be able to move ahead confidently, no matter which way he goes, and he'll be a source of encouragement for the people around him.

I may get back to this and assign some others, too.... I'm trying to connect Nana with the Moon card, but don't have much to link her other than vibes, for instance. But this was a lot of fun to think about, and it gave me an itch to try and draw the cards with my characters at some point! Thank you for this!!

lyra ⟡ when do you feel most at ease?

⟢ daydreaming or reading in bed. i’ve spent a lot of time making my room somewhere i want to be, so getting to lay down at the end of a long day and relax with my mood lighting is so nice (plus, my bed is comfy as hell (⸝⸝ᵕᴗᵕ⸝⸝)♡). finding a good book makes the experience ten times better, especially if my cat decides to visit and cuddle. on the go, listening to music always makes me feel better, even if i’m somewhere that stresses me out.

sagittarius ⟡ what is something random that most people don’t know about you?

⟢ i have an incredibly extensive daydream universe — i’ve had a daydream narrative for pretty much every part of my life, and can categorize them by year. my favorite has probably been sophomore through senior year of high school, where my daydreams focused on a somewhat canon-compliant, sci-fi au for rei todoroki & nana shimura from my hero academia! right now, i have a sideblog focused on my current narrative, which includes a half-original, half-self insert based plot.

fornax ⟡ what quality does a person need to have for you to instantly like or click with them?

⟢ kindness & empathy. if someone is aware of the horrors of the world but continues to make an effort to be kind to others, i have a lot of respect for them. this can translate into many different situations (i.e. being nice to animals, thanking customer service workers, taking care of family, etc.) but the common thread is having empathy for others. i tend to gravitate towards introverted and low-drama people as well!

puppis ⟡ what's the most stupid / disappointing / bad movie or tv show you have ever seen?

⟢ my mom and i sometimes watch corny b-movies together, so if we’re talking “so bad it’s good” territory, i’d have to say the sharknado series or anything in that “b-movie monster takeover genre” — they’re definitely a guilty pleasure!

⟢ however, if we’re talking about the stuff that grinds my gears, my hero academia fell out of favor with me years ago due to some writing issues (especially the endeavor redemption arc and general direction) and i stand by the fact quirkless deku would’ve been a more impactful narrative.

⟢ also, as a tolkien fan rings of power is very disappointing. there’s a lot of inconsistencies and lackluster creative directions that i think could’ve been avoided by sticking closer to the source material. i’m aware that the creative team may have run into copyright or licensing issues with the silmarillion and i’m all for bringing new ideas to the table, but i still think better plot & character decisions could’ve been made.

bonus ⟡ good movies and tv shows i like

⟢ at my core i’m really not built to be a hater, so i figured i’d share some movies & shows i like after ranting in the last section!

⟢ movies: the lord of the rings trilogy (2001-2003) and annihilation (2018). these are some of my favorite movies of all time, and are a masterclass in adaptive plot, characters, and music — they’ve heavily shaped my interests and growth as a person, and i highly recommend them to any fans of genre fiction.

⟢ shows: hunter x hunter (2011), arcane (2021), and andor (2022). these are my top three shows at the moment. hunter x hunter is hands-down my favorite anime of all time, and the rewatchability of arcane & andor is insane. like lotr, these shows are also masterclasses of their mediums and genres, combining some of the most beautiful character development i’ve seen with the screenwriting i wish rings of power had.

Ilar Talomere - Honestly? I didn't expect him to have a meaning to his name. But it makes sense I think. *nod nods* It apparently means Cheerful in Welsh and comes from the name Hilary?

I kinna stole this name from a character in a visual novel that I FUCKING adore called Chronicles of Tal'dun: The Remainder because I fell so head over heels in love with him? But, he died... so I decided to make my own Ilar. *nod nods* He has been living in my head... rent free for so many months now...

I feel like the meaning of his last name doesn't count because it's not spelled the same way as the real word but it's close? Talomere can be Telomeres which is a apparently a structure of DNA. Besides that Talomere's kinna just... made up. XS

Hachiko Taisho - Okay so here's the deal with Hachi's name. There are apparently like two meanings but the behind the name source says it means Eighth child. She's not... she only has a big brother and little sister so yeah.

The other meaning I LEARNED meant like, Puppy? I heard it from NANA when I watched it. And then I heard that name for that dog that like, waited for it's owner to come home and died? That Japanese story about Hachi? I think?

Taisho apparently means the top commander of an army. I honestly stole it from Inuyasha. XD Cause Hachiko is also my self-insert there but her name was Tsukiko until she made a wish and turned herself into a demon to be with Sesshomaru longer.

Sophia Ferndale - Sophia means wisdom in greek apparently. I dunno if it fits her... but I liked it so I took it. XS It's the middle name of my online name so I used that cause I didn't like the Lalafell names to be honest.

Wellll shoot, I didn't expect ferndale to actually have a meaning at all... I THOUGHT I made it up to be honest. It apparently means something that sunk into the sea but is attached to something so it can float. *thinks* I mean... her last name kinna works with how her story is I think.

Artemis Ferndale - Ahhh yess Artemis. The Greek goddess of the hunt. *nod nods* It suits her brother's name perfectly since he's a Viera who was a master hunter in his clan before he left and joined the Night's Blessed.

Saechen Dotharl - Yeah I... can't find the meaning of her name? Which is strange cause I swear there was some list that had her name on it... so I'm not sure what it means. ._. I got it from the fantasynamegenerator site for ff14 though cause I couldn't figure out a name for my Xaela and added the A because Sechen was taken already.

15. What’s your favorite AU that you’ve written?

I have two.

I wrote a Captain America (MCU) fic called If No One Else Will where Steve joins the Monuments Men in order to do something to help on the European front. Bucky tags along and the fic picks up when Hydra kidnaps Bucky and then Steve has to save the day as a tiny guy without any super serum. It's one of my favorites because I got to put the fact I grew up learning about World War II to good use and it was fun to come up with stuff like giving Steve his shield without him being a beefcake. I also learned a lot about the state of stuff like asthma in the 1940's when it was considered psycho-somatic.

I wrote a self-indulgent Black Clover/Boruto crossover when the Black Clover movie was first announced. I called it The Land Across the Sea. I started with the concept of Yami visiting his homeland as a potential movie plot, got the final scene pretty much in full immediately, and then chose to make it a Boruto crossover so Naruto and Yami could be somewhat friends from childhood. It was an easy write and I enjoy it. It's a little weak in places but it was fun to imagine how it might go and do some fun things like promoting Noelle and Asta to vice captain for different squads.

16. What’s an AU you would love to read (or have read and loved)?

I want to write a BnHA/MHA AU in which Class A and Aizawa have to go back in time to Yagi's high school days to save him from a villain kind of a la Tenchi in Love. I've written quite a bit of it but when I got to Midoriya and Nana interacting in the past it got a bit difficult so I set it aside and haven't picked it back up yet. Also we now kind of know of Tohru's quirk works and this particular AU hinged on her having a different quirk, but that'll just make it even more AU if I ever write it.

17. What highly specific AU do you want to read or write even though you might be the only person to appreciate it?

The most recent one in this vein I wrote was an Interview with the Vampire (AMC) Armand/Louis/Daniel fic The Mortal and the Vampires based loosely on a dark retelling of the fairytale Beauty and the Beast in which potentially canonical events lead to an eventual confrontation between the polycule and one of the penthouse servants who has come to realize they'll never be offered immortality. It was based on a conversation I'd had with another fic author about how Armand having to let Daniel go kind of reminded me of how the Beast has to let Beauty go in the story.

Right now I don't have any highly specific AUs like that rattling through my head. If they're that specific and clear to me, I always end up writing them. Another recent-ish in this vein was my Black Clover AU And There Was Still Hope that explored some manga spoilers about Yuno in a universe in which he didn't receive the Wind grimoire.

18. If you wrote a sequel to [insert fic], what would it involve?

I'm not sure if I have any fics right now that I've got any sequel ideas for. I haven't had any sequel requests either, so I'm not sure.

19. If you wrote a spin-off of [insert fic], what would it involve?

I'm not sure if I'd call it a "spin off," but I do kind of want to take my IwtV (AMC) fic Dream a Memory of Me and retool it and give it a better ending. I don't think I'll ever get around to it, but the more I learn and remember of Vampire Chronicles, the more that first fic of mine makes me cringe a bit. That said, it's not terrible, just could be better.

20. If you wrote a prequel to [insert fic], what would it involve?

I'm not really sure because I don't really have any fics I've got prequel ideas for or requests for.

I always try my best to, yeah! I love reading comments and have gotten a lot of really touching ones on some of my more introspective fics. I love making friends and interacting with other users.

What's the fic you've written with the angstiest ending?

All of Lovegod is the angsty ending, honestly.

What's the fic you've written with the happiest ending?

James Joint, it's a Nana Komatsu x Nana Oosaki smut that's kinda cheesy & fluffy because those two deserve it dammit.

Do you write crossovers?

I guess it depends on your definition of crossover. Right now my main wip is 2 Shingeki 2 Kyojin, my AOT x Fast and Furious inspired AU. I also have a secret special AU fic I'm posting for a writing event in January, that is AOT set in another fandom's setting as well. As for actual characters in fandom interacting with each other, no.

Yes. Typically male character x self insert female reader, some m/f/m, some multi male character x female character stuff i’ve done has gotten semi popular, though I've recently tried writing yuri smut. I also want to try writing m/f/f reader and am planning f/f/f reader and other lesbian multi pairings.

Have you ever co-written a fic before?

Kind of! It's taken down for now, but me and my best friend were working for years on a Backstreet Boys self insert AU with some fantasy and science elements that we had started in middle school. We took it down because we're gonna rewrite and republish it (since we just added onto it since middle school, like a demented layered dip of immature vocabulary) but with our original storyboard. He doesn't have a Tumblr but ily bestie

What's your all-time favorite ship?

Toughh call. I adore Eremika, Nanahachi is always amazing fave, but I think some that have stuck with me through the years are probably Elizabeth Bennet x Mr Darcy, and Bella Swan x Edward Cullen--very classic

What's a WIP that you want to finish but don't think you ever will?

OH God, hopefully none but there's a Jean Kirschtein x civilian female reader I started forever ever ago that I don't think I can finish. Maybe that'll change, but it doesn't seem to have any potential the way it is right now.

What are your writing strengths?

I honestly don’t know. i know what i like to write, and what i can go on and on about, but idk what’s good these days

What are your writing weaknesses?

I'm doing a Bertholdt Hoover x NB reader for a friend, and adjusting to the pacing of a slow burn was a challenge at first, as someone who irl and in fiction will jump to sex and drama, but I think I've got a hang of it now! Fight scenes will always be the death of me as well

What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?

I think it can be tricky, since plot relevance is obviously important, but flow and realism can make or break it too. I kind of wish I could implement it in the right way, since I have a hc idea that would involve it, but it's just hard to do right and idk if I can tackle that at the moment.

What's a fandom/ship you haven't written for yet but want to?

It could be fun to write some Twilight, since that was my first ever fandom, but idk what I'd write these days that I didn't already exhaust in my daydreams when I was 12— I could just be super indulgent and do it anyway. Also, Gregory House x reader... I need to ride that old man.

What's your favorite fic you've written?

2 Shingeki 2 Kyojin is my fucking baby. I adore it, I've never made a real AU like this before (at my grown age of 21, lmao) and I'm hyperfixating like crazy. If you like love triangles, street racing, partying, smut, Eren Yeager and Jean Kirstein, and more obscure AOT characters getting some screen time, check it out :)

What's the fic you've written with the angstiest ending?

I really think it's Transition. All in all it's a pretty dark story, a bit depressing I think (I had these intentions while writing at least).

Otherwise, I don't think I have angsty endings fics?

New family members for sure!! Was thinking hard what to choose, cause I think all of my happy ending fics are on the pretty same level on a happy scale, but I remember that I have this gen, non romantic baby and I love it so much ❤️‍🩹 There's a little TLK OMC for y'all

I wanted to say I've never done this BUT THEN!!! My Assassin's Creed (Ezio) x LOTR little headcanon!!! My beloved child!!

I do, tho not much and on rare occasions. I used to write a lot of smut when I was younger (a teen), then I stopped being comfortable with it for a wild few years (tho reading never made me uncomfortable lmao).

Now I started writing smut again, idk what kind? Don't really understand what does that mean lol F x M traditional sex? Pretty detailed? If so, then yes lmao

We tried with my friend a long long time ago. Didn't go well lmao It's hard and kinda stressing, cause you never know what the other person is gonna write (at least we had this SURPRISE system), so... You kinda have zero plot cause everything you want to write plot-wise can be ruined by the second person's plot lmao

What's your all-time favorite ship?

Athelnar?? Athelstan and Ragnar were my first ever OTP (quickly followed by Alfred and Uhtred). You could never beat that Athelnar shit out of my body lmao I've never written for them, but oh I do love them boys!

What's a WIP that you want to finish but don't think you ever will?

Now, that's the HARSH one lmao

I think I have at least 3 OC stories that I really wanna write (2 for TLK and one for LOTR), but I'm scared that I will never actually do it. I never was good with multi chaptered stories, and these are indeed not a one shots 🥲

What are your writing strengths?

Ugh... I don't know? I think I was pretty good with dialogues and descriptions of the surroundings to build the atmosphere. But... I guess it's not for me to decide but for the readers?

What are your writing weaknesses?

I rarely finish what I've started lmao I should write everything in one go or else I'll never finish it... Or will finish it in two months even if it's a 2k words one shot

What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?

I love them! I've only done it with my LOTR fics (with Sindarin) but I really love it. But I really love it when the language is different from the language of the settings? Like, if the story is happening in England and everyone is English, but you have two characters who can speak idk Dutch, let them have a Dutch language in their dialogue. I had a rant post about it not that long ago actually lmao You have to think about your in-universe language

What's a fandom/ship you haven't written for yet but want to?

Ahhh Bungou Stray Dogs! I love them, and I'd gladly try to write something for them. Not a character/character but reader my beloved.

And maybe Stephane Narcisse (reign) my beloved and a reader

The blood on my hands (Eomer) and Peace (Finan) are definitely my fave ones I think. They are dark and both explore some trauma

Self Insert!Nana

When Masami died, it was a tragedy, but she was quickly forgotten. She wandered around, craving for human contact only to pass through each body in her beloved city. 

The killer was quickly caught but she never thought it’d be her own kin. Her brother killed her and her parents committed suicide right after her death had appeared on the news. Her brother was supported by her auntie who convinced both parents to commit suicide. Masami saw everything. Her heart broke once they both agreed and their bodies were quickly buried by everyone. 

She wept for two weeks straight, and then the rumors about this new ghost appeared instantly, making the city even busier. At least the tourists tried to appease her by offering her flowers. She tried to make friends with the dead but they were all busy staring at the sky. She didn’t get it. She stared at the sky in frustration.

What do I do now? Masami felt so so tired.

The next thing she knew, phantom hands grabbed her wrists and shoulders, pulling her into a concrete sidewalk. She struggled to free herself but did it with flames???  

Her hands were on fire. Blue fucking fire. She panicked and tried to calm down but a man with a giant cloak and blond hair smiled amiably at her and grabbed her hand. She gulped.

“Hello.”

“Hello?” Masami looked at her surroundings, feeling nostalgic. Wasn’t it the mafia manga??

“Yes it is.” the man answered her voiced question. “You’re in my world. Tsunayoshi hasn’t been born yet.”

Tsunayoshi?

She hasn’t heard of the name since high school- her eyes blink in surprise. “Is this the..mafia?" 

"Yes.” Multiple dissembodied voices screamed in the sky. The voices got louder. “You have been reborn as one of the destined.”

Masami gaped. She frowned, “Who am I?”

“That we can not tell. If so, then we’d ruin the tale of Vongola.”

“Then you’re all Vongola Primo, Secondo, and etc? Oh of..course.” Masami groaned. Curse her luck. She had the worst luck in university. Her mind flashes back to when her brother teased her and said he was surprised she survived this long. Middle school. He was adorable~!

Too bad she got murdered by her little brother. She puffed her cheeks, looking down.

A man with short white hair appeared, greeting her in a deep voice. “Yo! I’m Kawahira!” Masami was way confused but Kawahira could’ve been a mist, she supposed.

She saw how Kawahira twitched and she quickly bowed, introducing herself.

“Now that introductions are over, your mission is to make Katekyo Hitman Reborn more interesting! Or not. You’re going to be reborn and you can’t change that Masami-channnn~”

Masami only nodded, signs of irritation clear on her face as she was gently knocked out by drugs. She cried inwardly, opening her eyes rapidly.

It hurt! She must’ve been just born. The cold lights made her wail even more as pale arms carried her in a blanket.

Stupid Kawahira.

5 years later, Yashida Nako weakly coughed and hit her crazy father in the face with a good arm and a toy gun. 

“Nako-kun! You’re still bad at this! Blehhhhh-oUCH! SHE GOT ME IN THE EYEEEEEE!” Her father weeped like crazy, her mother popping out from the ground with a first aid kit. Nako blankly stared at the event before hysterically laughing. 

Uncle Tokomi thoughtfully glanced at Nako, wondering if she needed a sanity check up. Nako instantly shut up and glared at Uncle. Uncle sheepishly grinned and lifted the girl up

Nako simply enjoyed life, throwing herself into something related to defense. A toy gun that was painted green, the Masami part of her lovingly pretended it was Leon and that she was Reborn. 

Her mother cooed at her huge fedora which featured her doe yellow eyes. Masami did look up to Reborn, no matter how weird Reborn was, and she was naturally born with honey yellow eyes. Nako madly cackled, which sounded like angel’s laughter in a baby suit.

Her father guffawed, almost cursing when he realized he had to go to work. Nako frowned as her mother said good bye to her father. Unfortunately, she still had busy parents who had to work due to Japan’s work ethics.

She is grateful her family didn’t live in a farm like her Old family. It was a life full of hives chasing her thanks to the move in family that thought no one lived right next to them and swatted the nest all the way in the middle of Masami’s treehouse. 

Nako pouted cutely as her Mama took away the green gun. “Mama!” She cried. “I want my toy backkkkkkkk!”

Mama groaned playfully, flicking Nako in the forehead. Nako owlishly looked at her from the carpeted ground. “Mama?”

“Take your medicine then I’ll give you your toy back!” Mama grinned, lifting Nako into her lap. Nako fidgeted but gave into the disgusting medicine. Sometimes Nako wished she was normal.

She smiled once Mama gave her the green gun and she made loud noises near her mama’s ears. Her mama was slightly surprised but Nako quickly climbed out of her lap, looking for Uncle.

“Uncle! Uncle!”

“OompH-” Uncle stares at her in surprise, smiling kindly at her. “Yes?”

“Can we get more gu-gundos?” Nako hopes it’s a yes.

Nako looks at him in hopes but is slightly curious about his expression. He looks exasperated at her question and a little wary. 

“Why?” The kind him comes back. “Didn’t we get you that toy gun a long time ago? Isn’t it pretty important?”

Nako thinks about it and tears up but insists on a new toy gun. “This one’s gon be my special one! I want to get better! Maybe it’ll come in handy!" 

Uncle grins, taking out a plastic white gun with a grey handle and a bright yellow trigger. Nako notices it looks a lot more… compact. It’s cold and shiny, compared to her smaller green gun.

She practices until her hand starts to twitch for an actual gun, much to her horror. Masami didn’t even think of any type of harming people in her last life.

Masami in her dreams realizes that she is a Yashida. She must protect herself before anyone in her family kills her. She remembers her death that day so vividly, the younger side of Masako-Nako, cries and cries in front of her parents randomly, so glad she didn’t have a little brother. 

She takes things more seriously. Her past life as Masako blurs between this life and her past. The only thing she knows now is how to take medicine and aim plastic bullets at intruders.

Now that Nako is 10, she realizes that her mother is sometimes a lot more tense than when she was younger. Her uncle appears only to give her more plastic ammo and her father was in the hospital. Her father doesn’t say hello to her anymore. Nako feels empty.

She didn’t know much people other than her babysitter but then she was gone. Nako is always thinking about her past life but is sad when she cannot remember it. She remembers the adults that she met before she was directly Yashida Nako.

She hates it. So she forces her mother to explain what’s happening in the family. Her mother glares at her but gives in. 

"You shouldn’t be asking for this. Are you sure?" 

Nako nods in response.

Her mother explains everything. She’s not normal at all. The Yashidas are a branch grouping of yakuza and mafia. The reason why she’s never had any communications with other people is because she is the weak link to the Yashidas.

Nako also noted that her family was notoriously known for handguns and daggers in their jobs. Nako wasn’t that dense to notice her mother almost said assassinations. It wasn’t like Nako knew everything but now that she had knew about her family’s background, she began to consider how to actually use her skills to help her family and then develop enough skills to run away if things got out of hand.

Nako smiled at her tiny green handgun. It was 5 years old but she did know how to dissemble and polish each of the gun parts. She still wore a new fedora every year and got her favorite fried foods on her birthday.

She weakly groaned one day, one January 1st. It was time to go celebrate New Years. She got up and greeted the maids who only got to see her a few times a year to prepare her Kimono.

Nako beamed at the maids who slipped her extra candy and manga. She hoped her family didn’t notice the sudden influx of manga. She ate the candy before her family came in to take her to the shrine.

Nako tightly held onto her Uncle’s sleeve, focusing on the hidden scars he received a long time ago. Her mother and father were nowhere to be seen but she expected that.

Skip to 3 years later, as a 13 year old, she had grown weaker yet more powerful. She was officially inducted at a Hibari meeting. Nako inwardly gulped, trying to stay still as everyone fluttered by, chatting each other up.

Her uncle groaned at her queasiness and gave her a blue jade bracelet with gold animal charms and was nowhere to be seen after that. She panicked and smiled weakly at the curiious bystanders. She recognized the light brown eyed lookers with dark formal clothing as the Kusakabes.

A woman with a sharp jaw smiled at her and gave her a book. Nako eagerly read it and tried not to cry. It was about a woman that loved her husband and willingly joined in his place. But then the man mourned the death of his wife. He never married or had any adopted children after that. And everyone in his family died.

Nako sniffled, not noticing a slender figure creep behind her. 

"Oya? Yashida-san, why are you crying?” A light voice chirped. She yelped and gripped the book tightly.

That was the time she met Hibari Masae, a girl with a soft spoken voice but strong morals. Unknowingly to Nako, Hibari Masae instantly adored the mousy girl and kept her under the Hibari claim. 

Nako was probably the most happiest at this point in life. Her parents and uncle looked afar in relief. She had passed the test and the Hibaris and Yashidas would become united once again.

Life for Nako was fulfilling and she entered high school with Masae. She experienced an overall happy school year and stayed with Masae until they both graduated college with top rank grades. Masae moved to Namimori and Nako had stayed in Tokyo, happily working in her secretary job and translating Japanese novels to Chinese and English.

Then she met Iemitsu. For the first time in forever, she felt wary and her blue flames flared actively. She snapped out of her civilian act, avoiding Iemitsu.

But then she fell in love as he noticed her. She knew very well who this was.

The young Lion. And she was screwed, for someone who probably had better aim than Iemitsu in guns.

She could see he was a stale Sky, not that he knew and she went in anyways. Nako remembered Primo mentioning her favorite character back when she was Masami.

That was the only part she remembered. All parts of Masami were dying by now and the only thing they were both connected to were weapons and the Hibaris. Masami had no knowledge of the Yashidas and cut the connections at those two things. Nako didn’t care and smiled at Iemitsu, taking his orders to the boss for a translation.

Sawada Iemitsu had an Italian contract that was about a peace treaty. Nako giggled in feigned ignorance at Iemitsu’s poor excuse of a treaty. She knew Vongola would fail and her family wouldn’t mind if the Hibaris protected her in Namimori.

Nako had changed her name from Yashida Nako to Sawada Nana in a nice quiet Namimori. Namimori was an odd town with many types of characters who were way too oblivious about the gunshots in town. Perks of being protected by Hibaris she assumed. 

Nana was so disgusted by how the teachers of Namimori were and had secretly supported Hibari Kyouya’s reformation of the school. Nana instantly shot down the dangers of mafioso as Masae was weakening. 

Nana stayed by Masae’s side and ruthlessly killed with Masae’s weapons. Nana had at least soothed Masae’s chronic fatigue while Tsuna was still running around, perfect timing for Kyouya and her Tsuna to get to know each other.

Tsuna was embarrassed by Nana’s antics but he had learned to take hand to hand combat from Nana’s white hairs about Namimori’s weakspots and complaints he heard everyday at dinner with Masae-san, Kyouya-kun, and Okaa-san.

Everyday was fun and Tsuna didn’t really care about his deadbeat father. Tsuna thought Iemitsu was dead.

Then Vongola Nono came during summer vacation with Iemitsu in sight. She locked all of her guns in place and it was hidden behind the bookshelves. Just like scooby-doo, Tsuna giggled and went to the kitchen once Nana shooed him away.

Nana had hovered over Tsuna like a shadow and smoothly intercepted her husband from cornering her son. 

“Why don’t you two talk about your job with us? How’s everything?” Silence.

Nana thought so, laughing at her husband’s lack of response. Even a trainee in her family has a backup plan.

This was the great Vongola that Nana heard about? Nana knew she’d have to put herself into the crossfire in order for her Tsuna to go and have a happy life!

She knew Tsuna was meant to be Decimo though. Tsuna warily peeked at Nono, forgetting about the man that was his father and her husband. She hummed happily.

2 days later, they’re gone, much to Tsuna’s relief. Tsuna had voiced that the nice old man would’ve sealed the instinct he had. Nana narrowed her eyes and dragged her son to Italy with her.

It is there that she finds a young girl named Bianchi. Bianchi leads her to her Family and there Nana had made a secure alliance with the Fiorentinos and the Greco.

They’re small in numbers but cunning in executions and expansion of the Family. 

By luck, Nana meets a female Skull. Odd. Masami doesn’t remember that part but she and Skull occasionally get along in mercenary missions.

A year later, Vongola still hasn’t found out about Nana and Tsuna’s disappearance thanks to the Hibari Clan. Kyouya and Masae are pretty set off by everything and Masae recovers and takes out her pretty and heavy fans to slash at mafioso.

The cloud arcobaleno comes back with Nana and Tsuna and is instantly filed as a civilian. She was originally a girl of all trades in the circus and passed those skills onto Tsuna.

Tsuna was slightly less clumsy with his fire and stepped with a cat’s grace by the time all of Vongola’s heirs died out. By the time Reborn ends up in Namimori, Tsuna dodges all attempts made by Reborn even if it’ll kill him.

Nana laughs loudly at Tsuna’s misery but is thankful Tsuna is a lot less like his canonself. Skull is there to cheer on Reborn for once as punishment for Tsuna taking her desserts.

And everything changed slightly.

note/ Bianchi may or may not have a crush on Nana instead of Reborn. Reborn finally gets to know the infamous Nana everyone talks about.

Reborn is slightly put off by Skull’s sadism. It’s almost like his and he’s disturbed but shrugs it off because Reborn.

Skull used to be a circus performer and often did gymnastics with giant rings of fire. She’s pretty sure most circus performers she had worked with used to be mafioso because of the bullet scars and their ideas of presents(g u n s). Tsuna admires her the most and Reborn is slightly miffed by that. Adorable as Reborn and has a tiny lisp like Reborn. She has purple hair and light pink eyes.

Tsuna is still short haha but Nana can rock a pair of 3 inch heels but is still shorter than Hibari Masae.

The Hibaris are freaking giants and no one ever grows in the Yashida genes smh.

Tsuna’s pretty average in class. Tsuna proposed to be Dame-Tsuna but Nana has flashbacks of being a No-Good in her old life and refuses, smacking Tsuna.

Hibari Kyouya refuses to acknowledge the Sawadas as carnivores but almost pisses himself when he sees Nana glance at the gun the same way Reborn does and instantly puts a bullet into the nearest mafioso’s brain. 

^it was the first time he learned about Sawada Nana’s life as Yashida Nako. He stays away from her house whenever he patrols Namimori. Masae laughs her ass off tbh.

i visited edinburgh, scotland!!! quite possibly the highlight of my life so far, because it was almost entirely my own responsibility to get myself places (and survive without... necessities...). not sure how @thisauthorisscreaming​ bullied me into hiking arthur’s seat my first morning there, but. yeah that happened.

2022 Year in Review Tag!

also this is just a general list not top 5 cuz i didn’t do much this year

5 movies i watched

in terms of new movies:

american psycho — i actually enjoyed this movie a lot but it’s genuinely bc this movie is much funnier than i thought it would be. all deeper meanings and commentary aside patrick bateman is a fucking specimen

kwaidan — obsessed with this movie ngl. the first three segments are top tier (kurokami, yukionna & HOICHI THE EARLESS ESPECIALLY IF YOU WATCH NO OTHER PART PLEASE WATCH THIS ONE I CANNOT PRAISE IT ENOUGH). however the last one was super lackluster in comparison to the other three. tbh i feel like if the last one was the first one it would be a really good progression from okay to the best bc you really can’t follow hoichi the earless with anything imo.

tales from crypt (1972) — watched a lot of old horror this year (bc my partner is a horror movie buff and has been getting me into them for awhile now lolol) but this movie was a lot of fun! i want more ridiculous anthologies and movies tbh. make movies fun again tm.

jeepers creepers — never seen it before and MY GOD was screaming the whole time i was watching bc no?? we do not need to investigate you KNOW it’s a creature. all of this might’ve been avoided if y’all just minded your damn business 😔

then off the top of my head i rewatched my comfort movie sherlock holmes bc fuck iron man, rdj’s sherlock is his best role to me. i definitely wanna watch more movies next year.

death parade / nana — i’ve only watched the first episodes of each but nana stresses me out (lovingly) and i think death parade is fascinating i just need to make more time to watch shit lol

definitely didn’t read 5 books lol didn’t have time or space mentally. however i will say i started to read bram stoker’s dracula this year, got stuck on the part about paprika, thought it was hilarious and never finished chapter 1. it’s super good from the bit i read so far, i’m just easily amused and don’t have patience 😔

got conveyor belt sushi for the first time! i wish it was closer by but maybe it’s better i’d be there every day

created a new writeblr so i could start getting more confident talking about my stories. i think it’s marginally worked! i’m working on myself still but i feel like i’ve been more open and indulgent this year

had a pretty good birthday for the first time in years

despite the struggles working from home has done a lot for my mental health and i want to try and secure another wfh job in the future.

Quirkless!BNHA AU, where quirks don't exist and Toshinori got his injury from a car accident whilst wanting to learn how to drive with Nana (instead of him learning to be a hero) but Nana dies from it. Nana and Torino are his adoptive parents and Torino is really upset by Nana's death and that's where Toshinori's training/punching bag thing comes in... (after Toshinori was all patched up though-)

Not original by me, I got this idea from a fanfic I forgot the name of and that you might've already read, but me wants hc if you could be bothered lmao-

Toshinori would completely blame himself for her death like he already does but even more so in this situation. In a hero setting, death and injury are unfortunately part of the job. This was just a simple training, a "coming of age" of sorts. Something so mundane.

Like any kid, Toshinori must have been so excited to learn how to finally start driving on their own. He must have pestered them both about when they were going to teach him, trying to subtly insert the subject into conversations. They'd ignore him (Shimura would smirk but not bring it up. Torino would roll his eyes.) Toshinori would give up eventually and just bluntly ask, still respectfully of course. But give the kid a break, he's excited.

After the crash, when Toshinori woke in the hospital bed, he probably had amnesia at first. He'd be confused why he was there, and why everything suddenly ached in agony, and each breath was a painful struggle, like he couldn't breathe as fully. The kid would panic, making things all the worse. After the nurses and doctors got him to calm down and upped his pain medications, Torino finally would come to his room. Toshinori would be relieved to see him, but the look on the elder's face, one of mixed feelings and sorrow; it's a look Toshinori never wants to see again. Especially directed at himself.

Hearing about Nana, Toshinori felt something inside him die. It should have been him. He had been too insistent on her teaching him. He had no idea what he was doing, he shouldn't have started driving so soon without some sort of lesson first! The fact that the woman he ever knew as a mother was killed because of him, and despite his injuries, his body fought to live and not give in to the comfort of death along side her. Why was he still alive?! Nana was too good of a person. The wrong person died.

Torino's visits were few and far between, and too awkward for the both of them. They're relationship hadn't been as close as him and Nana. Nana always knew what to say, how to get conversations started between the two of them. Torino still seemed unsure of how to behave, what to say, like he was fighting with himself. Toshinori almost liked being alone better than to suffer through an awkward and teary-eyed conversation. If he was honest with himself, being alone in the hospital room and circling in self hatred and grief was a dark and terrifying experience. Smiling seemed so much harder now.

Trying to bring Toshinori home from the hospital went terribly. The doctor's eventually had to sedate him enough so he was barely conscious. He didn't want anything to do with a car, the sight of one made his non-existent stomach twist, and he barely remembers vomiting on the sidewalk before breaking down in a massive panic attack.

Now, years later, Toshinori still fights with himself every time he gets in a car. It's been decades, but if he thinks about it too much, he feels nauseous. Taking the bus or catching the train home is a bit easier. He hasn't told anyone about his anxieties, and you would only notice something is off with him if you knew him well enough.

Toshinori never learned to drive.

The age gap between Toshinori and I made this AU a little hard to figure out but I think I’ve got it down, basically to start off Nana never met Toshi to pass OFA down to him, and likewise also didn’t have her death fight with AFO early on. She still ended up sending her son away for his own safety, which he’d grow to resent her for, raising Tenko to still become Tomura etc etc still works. I have it details I just dkfsdk It’s a lot it’s a lot I like making AUs that work but I don’t want to write a NOVEL here so moving on

Emile’s Story

Before her final confrontation with AFO, which would happen later, Nana passes OFA onto me, who’s 15 at the time. My S/I is the same up until this point, more or less, Weightless is his quirk and it’s still more a disability than a super power. Why Nana gave it to me gets complicated but it’s mostly for security reasons, she either comes back with Tenko, or she dies in this fight, and without a successor to OFA, she had to find someone just to hold it. I just happened to be in the right place at the right time. It’s a very last ditch choice on her part.

AFO doesn’t KNOW who has OFA now, giving me a bit of an advantage as I figure out wtf is happening. There’s no healing in OFA’s repertoire so it’s not like my physical condition gets any better. If anything it gets worse.

The first quirk to show itself from OFA’s arsenal is Black Whip, which after sending me to the hospital, immediately gets the attention of AFO and, worse, the Hero Commission. 

Hawks is doing good on his own as a budding Hero at this point, he’s got his own agency going at this point if I remember the timeline right, so the Commission is looking for a new young hero to groom, and I, with my powerful quirk that’s destroying me from the inside out, am just the child soldier they’re looking for.

Around three years after that I have my first run in with AFO, and it goes TERRIBLY as you’d expect. Getting slammed into several buildings when your bones are already pre-shattered ceramic held together with gum and hope is not fantastic on the body. If it wasn’t for Hawks getting other pro-heroes as back up I would most certainly be dead. AFO, of course, got away.

More physically destroyed than previously, I take a semi-retirement, much to the irritation of Hawks, who knows about OFA and thinks I’m wasting it (the hero commission tried to convince me several times to give it to Hawks), and the anger of the Hero Commission, who try to hold me to hero work.

I end up escaping the corrupted commission though Nezu, the child soldier before Hawks. He has a bit of leeway with the commission and takes me from them under the guise of a teacher at UA, so I may find someone better to take OFA. I really owe him a lot and respect him above anyone else.

During the next 2 years I watch over the Hero course at UA, and also still work part-time as a rescue hero for the surrounding area, where I meet Toshinori Yagi!

Toshi’s Story

Obviously, Toshi’s still quirkless in this AU. But he’s still got the hero spirit in him, every call for help is a call for him specifically, so he is constantly running full speed into danger in the off chance of being helpful.

As a kid he was actually pretty successful, running after petty thieves and successfully finding hide away villains where police couldn’t. He was spry, rather fit, and ready to rumble all though middle school. He really believed he could be a hero, quirk or no.

UA told him otherwise.

He ended up in UA’s general studies, though he didn’t attend a lot of general studies classes. He tailed the Hero Course as stealthy as he could, copying their lessons, getting his homeroom teacher to sneak him the recordings of their training. He ended up making it to 3rd in the sports festival thanks to all his semi-stalkerish behavior of his fellow students. And, as in middle school, he also continued his vigilante work, as best he could on his school schedule.

Sense he couldn’t get in trouble using a quirk to stop crime without a licance, as he didn’t have a quirk, Toshi got away with a lot of vigilante activity as a kid, and into his early adult hood. However, as he got older he found himself running to face more and more dangerous villains than before.

Back in Toshinori’s day, most Villains were petty crooks, just learning their quirk, using it as amaturely as a first year in any hero course. But Villains evolved along side heroes, and Toshi couldn’t keep up with their growing strength.

He sustained several injuries throughout his late 20′s and 40′s, major injuries that would effect the rest of his life, even with the amazing medical care of My Hero Academia. He has many physical limits to how much he can do in a day, and walks with a cane to lessen the pressure on his right leg.

But that still doesn’t stop him.

When I become a constant in town as a rescue hero, about 90% of my job became keeping Toshinori Yagi out of harms way. Black Whip, Float, and Weightless make getting him out of danger pretty easy. The other local heroes jokingly tall me Mr. Yagi’s handler.

When not rushing face first into danger, Mr. Yagi is actually a teacher at a local Middle School, encouraging his students to Go Beyond; Plus Ultra! He says it’s very inspiring, especially to a quirkless student he had last year, who apparently applied to UA.
