Which MHA centric tropes do you think is overused and not utilized well for its intended purposes or that the writers in questions just don't think about it?
Dadzawa, for example, is used to make Aizawa into a better teacher since he does absolutely suck in canon. What is shouldn't used for is to infantilized the 1-A students, especially Izuku, or to justify the bashing or pretending the existence of other adult characters.
Shinso-replaces-Mineta-in-1-A is used to instantly put Shinso in 1-A instead of Mineta simply because trying to write a character with perverted traits(which teenage boys would have) and using such characters can be hard. It's well known that many writers just prefer Shinso simply because he looks "hotter" than Mineta and that Mineta looks like a gremlin to them. This doesn't get to the fact the Shinso was a twig back then and likely didn't condition himself for the Entrance Exam.
Suspected UA Traitor Izuku. The original prompt was due to all of the attacks on UA, the tired Aizawa blames Izuku because of his notebooks and other situations that conveniently makes it looks like that Izuku was the traitor but Nezu and AM were on Izuku's side because they knew the truth about Izuku's situation. Now, outside of villain Izuku fics, this trope is primarily used to give Izuku angst and torture porn, on top of All Might bashing, Izuku losing all of his friends(except for Bakugo sometimes for shipping purposes), and making Dadzawa a thing even though it's Aizawa who would cause of the issues.
I've already gone on record as being strongly against Fanon!Dadzawa and the Suspected Traitor genre. Like, I have multiple posts on each of those and why they're bad.
As for Shinsou replacing Mineta, it's no secret that I've found Shinsou's preparation for UA lacking, but Mineta isn't just a character with an unfortunate deisgn--he doesn't have a personality. He's a one-note character who makes the same joke over and over again, and 'Guy Does Something Perverted And Gets Slapped' stopped being funny in the 1980s.
I've mentioned this before but the trope I hate the most that isn't here is Midoriya 'snapping' because of All Might telling him that he can't be a Hero and going from "I think that saving people is the greatest thing someone can do" (canon dialogue) to mass-murderer in about 0.5 seconds. Like, if you want Midoriya to be a Villain, there are way more interesting reasons for it.

So in vigilantes, I love the banter that aizawa and present mic have. I wanna try and write what aizawa’s first day as a teacher was like.
————————————————————
Aizawa: “I didn’t apply because you asked me. Nezu asked me.”Mic:
“mmmHHHHMMMMmmmmm And who else has been asking you for years?? Hmmmm?? C’mon aren’t you EXCITED to work with me?” Mic taunted
I dread my productivity rates with you being around constantly. Quite simply not rational.
Mic: “Not rational cuz I’m gonna be distracting you ?” He fluttered his eyes. Putting both of his hands under his chin, his yellow shades sliding down slightly to look down at Aizawa’s slump.
yeah because you never shut up”
NOPE! BECAUSEEEEE you are gonna see me all the time and realize how much ya love meee and teeeaching and Midnight and Vlad and -
His Apple Watch started ringing. “OOP! Gotta run can’t be late on your first day there, Teach!”
Hizashi poked his finger at his shoulder. “Can’t make that impression with your class!”
Before Aizawa could follow up his confused reaction by asking “who was vlad” and then resolving it wasn’t worth the effort to ask, Present Mic had dashed out towards the door, hair hitting the frame of the threshold on the way. Aizawa looked at the clock.
Dammit, he was right.
Mic: “gotta go dash!” He said, a stupid wide grin on his face. (He’s trying to say gotta go fast as a sonic meme but not quite landing it)
Mic was right. He had to go or else he would be 10 minutes late to being early by 15 minutes. Hizashi knew this. He knew this from when they roamed these same halls together. Dammit. “He DOES know we aren’t attached at the hip right?” Aizawa thought to himself. Too much work to focus on something so irrational.
And loud.
Why did it matter who convinced him to work at UA anyway.
It’s simply makes sense to teach the next generation to carry on efficient work. As much as he did at night, he knew better than most that one man cannot solve everything. Not even all might. Working with the same colleagues he has worked in battle with was strategic planning, efficient, and effective. Teaching was just like a fight.
“Yeah” he muttered under his breath, convincing himself.
Getting to the point of the lesson and knowing good team work. Trimming the excess was something he was good at. Regarding teamwork, Aizawa recognized he was garbage at English, (part of the reason he hated press conferences) which is where Mic shines, and even as annoying as vlad king is, he makes a great coach for driving results. He didn’t know press work like Midnight.
He started to feel small. Tunnel vision started suffocating him. This feeling choked him and made him feel useless, especially being so reliant on his eyes. He looked around from side to side to try to steady but to no avail. What was he doing here? Teaching? Working with kids? Was he worth anything to guide students?
In 2 -3 - 4 hold 2 - 4 - 6 -7 Out 2 - 4 - 5 - 6 - 7 - 8.
He stopped and caught his breath, like his mandated therapist from the agency suggested. The only thing that stuck. It was the quickest was to the parasympathetic nervous system and logically can shut down these unproductive thoughts.
The thoughts just like

Like
Before oboro convinced him he really had a place here among the heroes.
He sniffed and shook he head, shaking out the past and emotions from this fight and hoisted the wrap around his neck to cover to his chin.
“Only rational to work as a team, just like they taught me. I have my strong suits, Mic has his.”
He thought.
He added, almost correcting himself subconsciously, “Err- everyone has their strong suit to teach at UA. You have to in order to work here. The primary objective is to make the best students into the best heroes to protect the future. Even though he preferred individual work, there was value in team effort, and this school called nothing but the best display of understanding your team and pairups.”
“Just rational.” His thoughts continued. “Nothing else. Even if I prefer to work alone, I can excel in teaching these kids that. Teach kids how to know themselves best so they can make a team even more powerful.” He smiled as he walked in to HIS classroom. Nobody could see that smile of course.
The classroom was already set up. He’d been in days before to make sure everything was spotless, seating tags in place, stocked supplies, including his sleeping bag and training clothes. He was nervous to break it out on the first day in case Nezu were to walk by, probably not a good look first day, but packed it before the shift tonight.
He walked around to inspect everything, and read through his class chart at the podium. He glanced at the clock on the wall.
15 minutes.
He turned on the police radio under the podium he had placed so he could spend a few minutes relaxing and planning his route for the night shift. That was much easier than what was about to come. After a few moments, when he turned to sit around at the desk, he noticed a sticky note on top of a pink retangle piece of rubber:
Hey Eraser,
You are gonna do GREAT!
If you want to, we can meet after your first day to talk?
-Zashi
His tired eyes flung open and burned from the sudden wind.
He flipped over the eraser and squinted to study it. There was an address on the back. A local coffee shop. His favorite local coffee shop, actually.
It wasn’t the invite to hang that was weird. This felt
.genuine. Not over the top. Preplanned, not spontaneous. Zashi. Not Mic. Friend, not coworker.
They hadn’t been “friends” in so long. It pained him to admit it. Zashi had always tried to keep the friendship open but he

He
struggled to reach out.
He worked late, woke up early to plan stings, worked out, was on call for police, and had 3 rescue cats and cactus at home.
He barely ate more than coffee, cigarettes, protein drinks, and takeaway.
Maybe Mic - Zashi, knew that? He wanted to reflect back on their relationship. He was taken aback by this small act. He felt perceived about his nerves despite
being himself.
How could he expect to attend to a friendship or relationship? That’s not what this job is -
He stopped himself. He had to remind himself of several lessons that were beaten into him on the significance of teamwork. That line of thinking was not going to get him anywhere.
He sighed.
There was no excuse. Zashi had always tried to keep the line open. Aizawa was the one who never followed up.
Maybe, this job would be good for him. Maybe he wasn’t as stable as he thought~
The door slid open
Ah. My first student.

Role-reversal AU where Bakugƍ is the one born Quirkless & Izuku is the one gifted with a flashy, powerful Quirk. But their personalities are the same just like canon.
Everyone fawned over Bakugo when they were young, since he was a prodigy at everything. Therefore, learning he was quirkless, and that Deku had a strong quirk twas a serious blow to his ego.
Since he still received his mom's fiery temper and intense personality, this leads him to swear he'd become the world's first quirkless hero and upstage all the other people at their school.
His friendship with Izuku fractures over the creek incident, though for opposite reasons. This time he wants to prove himself and sees Izuku helping him as him being unfairly propped up. He doesn't bully Izuku, but he's also not friends.
This lasts about a week before he forces Izuku to fight him. Izuku doesn't want to at first, he doesn't want to be a bully, but Bakugo forces his hand.
Izuku tries to apologize after winning, but Bakugo punches him, tells him not to dare do that, and he'd win next time. Izuku thinks this means Kacchan wants to be friends again!
Bakugo goes to any dojo or training place that'll take him to learn how to fight. He also learns a bit about making gadgetry, dance, and any other skill that'll help him become a hero.
Izuku is much more outgoing and confident in this AU. He also does more extracurriculars since he's not worried about others, but he's still primarily a hero fanboy.
He has suck-ups following him. Izuku even thinks they're his friends, but he still has an offputting feeling around them. He much prefers Kacchan. His willingness to cuss Izuku off is quite refreshing (nobody can understand why).
After he lost their fight, Bakugo began playing with Izuku again (to scout the enemy of course). Izuku and him soon become rivals. Nobody is quite sure if they're friends or enemies. Izuku says the former, Bakugo says the latter. Izuku thinks Kacchan's joking. He is the only one to do so.
This conversation happens.
Extra: So...what is you guys' relationship?
Izuku and Katsuki (simultaneous): Best friends/Worst enemies.
Katsuki is actually kind of protective toward Izuku. He warned Izuku that his "friends" didn't care about him, and once even scared away a girl he knew only wanted to be with Izuku for social clout.
He claims this is because he hates those pathetic weasels more than he hates Izuku.
Izuku believes it's because they're good friends.
Izuku and him constantly fight. Izuku always wins, unless he fights without his quirk. At first Katsuki thought he wanted to fight quirkless out of pity, but Izuku explained he actually wants to be a better Hero, which Katsuki appreciated.
At UA, Izuku gets OFA from AM, who thought he was the perfect choice after seeing him save an innocent without thinking. Bakugo is the only other person in the know. When Izuku explained it, his only reaction was:
Katsuki: Offer it to me, and I murder you.
All Might assumes the two are standard Shonen rivals and lets them train together. However, sometimes he wonders if they're quite as good of friends as Izuku believes.
Katsuki fights with the same style as canon thanks to some explosive gauntlets made by a friend he made in an inventing camp: Mei Hatsumei. Nobody's sure if they're legal, but they never ask.
Only Nezu knows, and he's not telling.
Izuku's dad is AFO. His "quirk" is actually the original Blackwhip, stolen off of Lariat's corpse. Izuku wasn't naturally quirkless though. His real quirk is All for One.
He is very happy to rob Nomu blind. And Bakugo is happy to help as long as he gets to blow something up!
(Oh, and Izuku was right all along. They are friends. Bakugo was just in denial)

BnHA Chapter 322: IF I COULD TURN BACK TIME
Previously on BnHA: Endeavor was all, “Kirishima please take Hagakure and Aoyama and put them away somewhere out of sight until we’re finally ready for the U.A. Traitor Plot.” Shouto was all “HEY DEKU DID IT EVER OCCUR TO YOU THAT MAYBE YOU WANDERING THE STREETS LOOKING LIKE A GOTH PRAYING MANTIS IS EXACTLY WHAT AFO WANTS.” Deku was all “I’M SORRY I CAN’T HEAR YOU OVER THE SOUND OF MY CRUSHING MARTYR COMPLEX AND ACCUMULATED TRAUMA.” Mineta was all “HEY DEKU YOU SWEET THANG, IF I COULD REARRANGE THE ALPHABET I’D PUT ‘U’ AND ‘I’ TOGETHER, ANYWAYS HMU 💖”, or at least that’s what fandom apparently thought he said. Everyone was all “WELL SINCE WE’RE BACK HERE IN KAMINO WE SHOULD DO THE THING” and did the whole “launching someone into the air to save someone by dramatically grabbing their hand” thing that everybody fucking loves to do in Kamino so damn much. Iida was all “[bombards me and Deku with feels].” Deku was all, â€œà„‚(ʚ̶̷̎́ .Ì  ʚ̶̷̎̄̀ à„‚).” I was all, “(;*△*;).” Horikoshi was all, “my work here is done.”
Today on BnHA:
Tumblr media
oh my god.
so I finally went back to look at what I wrote up for 321 last week, and it’s a hot fucking mess lol, and I really don’t want to deal with that right now, so we’re just gonna skip it and go back sometime in the next few days or something because I really want to read the new chapter and I have no self control. I’M SORRY IIDA
oh my god he’s breaking out the narration word bubbles oh my god. shit is about to get epic isn’t it
Tumblr media
has there ever been a chapter that opened with these that WASN’T epic? serious question. anyways all aboard the Feels Express I guess
YEP
Tumblr media
I saved a bunch of other crying kaomojis when I was looking for ones to use in the “previously on” summary, and right now it’s looking like that was a good fucking decision you guys. if I’m going to be an emotional wreck I might as well do it in style ʕ àČĄ ïč àČĄ ʔ
AND BY THE WAY!!
Tumblr media
SHOULD I JUST THANK HORIKOSHI NOW AND SAVE MYSELF SOME TIME LATER. THE MAN ALWAYS FUCKING DELIVERS WHAT ELSE CAN I FUCKING SAY GODDAMN. IS IT TOO EARLY TO DECLARE THIS MY NEW FAVORITE CHAPTER? I SHOULD PROBABLY READ FURTHER THAN ONE PAGE BUT I’VE JUST GOT A FEELING
(ETA: it’s like. maybe my second favorite lol. A HUG WOULD HAVE PUT IT IN FIRST, I’M JUST SAYING.)
anyway so Ochako is releasing Iida, which is actually hilarious, because idk if you all know this but Iida can’t fucking fly you guys
Tumblr media
like, I assume Ochako released him because she already knew that Kirishima was in place to catch him, but I really love this split-second of panic on Iida’s part where he’s all “HMM, IS OCHAKO TRYING TO KILL ME, ACTUALLY”
LOL THERE’S A THOOM AND EVERYTHING
Tumblr media
that’s some plus fucking ultra on Ochako’s part right there. “IF THEY DIE THEY DIE” goddamn girl did you leave your chill in the same locker as Momo or what
now poor Kiri is all “DAMMIT DEKU ARE YOU PASSED OUT OR WHAT, I DIDN’T GET TO TELL YOU MY THING GODDAMMIT”
Tumblr media
oh my gosh he is curled up so small you guys oh my fucking lord
Tumblr media
RESIDUAL “LOST CHILD” FEELS FROM LAST WEEK COMING IN FOR A LANDING!! PLEASE MAKE SURE YOUR SEATBACKS AND TRAY TABLES ARE IN THEIR UPRIGHT POSITIONS OMG ( ˚͈͈͈͈̄̆ ₍₎ ˚͈͈͈͈̄̆ )
LMAO IIDA IS TRYING TO CONFIRM THAT OCHAKO PLANNED FOR KIRISHIMA TO CATCH HIM, AND KIRISHIMA IS ALL “NOPE I’M JUST HERE BY CHANCE BRO”
Tumblr media
Ochako is the U.A. Traitor confirmed. Hagakure I am so sorry I doubted you. Ochako get over here. so are you Toga now or what
anyway so now everyone is running over before Iida can react to this casual announcement of his attempted murder. and now Mina is taking her turn, and Horikoshi is all “HEY BTW IS MINA CRYING ON THE LIST OF THINGS THAT MAKE YOU CRY?” and of fucking course it is, you bastard. I’m not made of stone
Tumblr media
( ɔ̄̄ ˑ̫ ɔ̄̄)
SLDKFJLSDKJ:LKWEJ
Tumblr media
IS THIS THE PART WHERE I JUST START SCREAMING INCOHERENTLY FOR THE REST OF THE CHAPTER LOL. SURE FEELS LIKE WE ARE GETTING TO THAT TIME

SLKASODIFALWKFLKJ
Tumblr media
THEY’RE JUST DEKU AND KACCHAN. holy shit you guys. because oh my god, but it’s like when Deku was talking to the Vestiges about saving Tomura, and he turned into his little child self because his heart and intentions were so pure?? and it’s like that again, except that we’re seeing them as their child selves because that’s who they are to each other?? like, not that they actually see each other as children, but just, they can see past all of the stuff on the outside and see each other to their cores, to who they are inside, and when they look at each other they each simply see the other boy that they’ve known their whole entire life. idk?? does that make sense??? DOES ANY OF THIS EVEN MAKE SENSE I DON’T KNOW WHAT WORDS ARE ANYMORE I’M JUST SWIMMING IN FEELS OKAY. I’M TRYING HERE
they’re just boys, is what I’m trying to say, I guess. just Deku and Kacchan. all the walls are down, all the gaps are bridged, and all it is is the one boy reaching out and connecting with the other, and just,,, (ê’ŠàșŽâŒ“ê’Šàș”)
OH MY GOD [GRABBING YOUR SHOULDERS AND POINTING WORDLESSLY] !!!1LK1
Tumblr media
DO YOU ALL KNOW WHAT THIS IS YOU GUYS

Tumblr media
I KNOW THAT IN REALITY THIS FACE IS JUST BECAUSE SHE’S CONCERNED ABOUT DEKU’S FRAGILE STATE RN, BUT I KEEP THINKING ABOUT THE WAY SHE JUST DROPPED IIDA COLD THOUGH, AND I CAN’T HELP BUT FEAR FOR KACCHAN’S SAFETY LMAO. THAT FEELING WHEN THE CLASS PERV AND THE CLASS BULLY BOTH BEAT YOU TO THE LOVE CONFESSION. KACCHAN WATCH YOUR SIX

sure let’s cut to Thirteen then, yay. I mean I’m glad they’re alive lol, don’t get me wrong
(ETA: I think that might have sounded a bit sarcastic so I just want to clarify that I really am happy Thirteen is alive and on the job again lol.)
Tumblr media
it’s just that if your name doesn’t begin with Baku or Deku I honestly am not interested for just these next five minutes okay lol. like I’m just gonna be completely honest. I am too invested lol, please, they were having a moment, JUST LET ME HAVE THIS PLEASE
OH DAMN U.A. GOT SWOLE AF
Tumblr media
THIS SCHOOL HAS BEEN JUICING WTF. I THOUGHT YOU WERE TARTARUS LOL
I’m literally not even reading the speech bubbles though omg I’m so sorry. I really hope there is not a quiz, I promise I will come back to it later scroll scroll scroll
okay so they brought him back to U.A. and he’s all tired and out of it yes
oh goody Hagakure knows all about the security system
Tumblr media
(ETA: is it just me or is Horikoshi really laying it on thick with the hints about these two guys lately? I’m on to you sir.)
THAT’S WONDERFUL NEWS. GLAD THIS CRITICAL KNOWLEDGE IS SAFE IN THE HANDS OF THE PEOPLE THAT WE TRUST
ffs Deku
Tumblr media Tumblr media
WHAT WILL IT EVEN TAKE TO CONVINCE YOU THEN?? SWEET JESUS
-- holy shit, what??!
Tumblr media
they know?? how did they find out??! holy shit???
Tumblr media
I’m about to cancel the whole of Japan lmao. fucking try me dudes
-- THE PRINCIPAL!?
Tumblr media
NEZU GET YOUR ASS DOWN HERE RIGHT NOW!! WHAT THE FUCK
“a ticking time bomb” tell you what, this man is just asking to be punched in the face. literally begging for it omg
(ETA: I have been advised that I misread this part; Rat Principal told everyone how safe U.A. was, but he’s not the one who ratted out Deku; that was “the rumors”, apparently. which, if I had to guess, were probably started by AFO.)
oh I see, so it’s to be Feels, Part II then
Tumblr media
he looks so sad and tired and lonely and she goes right for the hand, god bless. though if Kacchan’s not gonna hug him, you’d think someone would at least. or is it because he still smells bad. hmm
AND THE CHAPTER’S ENDING ON HER LOL WELL OKAY THEN
Tumblr media
I MEAN IT’S GREAT AND ALL, I LOVE OCHAKO REALLY I DO, BUT WE WERE PROMISED GREAT EXPLOSION MURDER GODS, WHAT GIVES SOB. I WAS ALL READY TO BREAK OUT INTO SONG AND EVERYTHING. SURE, HE DID THE APOLOGY, BUT WHERE IS THE FOLLOW-UP GODDAMMIT
(ETA: just to clarify the reason for my rambling here, I was really waiting for the hero name reveal and the presumed deeper meaning behind it lol. but I guess that is a conversation still to come! and we still need Deku’s response to the apology too for that matter. lots to look forward to still.)
WELL WHATEVER, SO THAT IS THE END OF THE CHAPTER! SHOUT OUT TO MY BOY RAT “LET ME JUST TELL EVERYONE IN THE ENTIRE WORLD ABOUT DEKU’S SUPER SECRET IDENTITY, I GUESS THAT’S ALL RIGHT NOW, NOTHING BAD COULD POSSIBLY COME OF THIS” PRINCIPAL. listen here you little shit
anyway but if you’ll excuse me... IF I COULD TURN BACK TIME. IF I COULD FIND A WAY. I’D TAKE BACK THOSE WORDS THAT HAVE HURT YOU, AND YOU’D STAY. I DON’T KNOW WHY I DID THE THINGS I DID. I DON’T KNOW WHY I SAID THE THINGS I SAID. PRIDE’S LIKE A KNIFE, IT CAN CUT DEEP INSIDE. WORDS ARE LIKE WEAPONS, THEY WOUND SOMETIMES. BUM~ BUM~ BUM~, I DIDN’T REALLY MEAN TO HURT YOU. BUM~ BUM~ BUM~, I DIDN’T WANNA SEE YOU GO. I KNOW I MADE YOU CRY, BUT BABAY, IF I COULD TUUUUURN BACK TIIIIIIIIIIIME...

this maybe by far the biggest unpopular opinion and a vent but i wanna say Uraraka is not the ultimate hero that Nezu envisions and she is also not the "BEACON OF HOPE OR LIGHT OF HOPE" that Hori oh so praises. Some people compare her speech as her being the hope that night eye during the internship arc said to Izuku and i wanna say that makes no sense.
First off, up until 1A decided to forcefully bring Izuku back, what did she even do after the war?. Sure she was going around trying to check for survivors but Tsuyu and other kids were probably doing that aswell. After that what did she do? nothing. While Mido after leaving UA, constantly was saving Civis, fighting villains, even trying to understand them (Muscular, Nagant). Even without food or sleep he was doing all he could to save the people and find AFO, Shigaraki and he had every reason to go after them. Self sacrificing sure but his obsession in finding AFO and Shigi didn't stop him from helping the Civilians in peril. His obsession with AFO and Shiggy was understandable. At UA Uraraka gives a plea to let Izuku stay to get some food and rest and she also mentions about how Izuku has done so much for the people disregarding his safety and health and asks the people's support she says how its 'them' heroes who will be filled with dirt. She asks all of their support and co-operation and ask them to let Izuku stay while constantly relaying about who saves the heroes when they are in pain.
Now the speech was okay though she got overhyped but my issue is that Hori's Narrative makes it as if she's the only reason why the civilians are trusting 1A & heroes and that she is the Light of Hope/Beacon of Hope which is BS. i mean if Midoriya didn't leave UA and stayed with them and the CIvilians protested, would the same speech been effective? infact would any of her speech or declaration hold any weight?. IMO nope. without Izuku's efforts since the time he left UA, her speech would've had no effect and no backing. It would've been empty. However Hori isn't giving credit to Izuku for this instead crowns only Uraraka as a beacon of hope and have Nezu evisions the birth of the utlimate Hero while keeping Uraraka in the panel and not Izuku and came up with the whole 'we all became great heroes' thing which to me the shift happened way too soon. Sorry but it was Midoriya who stepped up after the war and through his efforts and actions instilled hope and he deserves to be called as the Beacon of Hope that Nighteye stated and to be called as the Ultimate Hero. yes as Hawks said Uraraka connected the people to Midoriya but it wasn't Uraraka's speech alone that did this. Midoriya's actions deserve credit in this because without him putting efforts, her speech would've been empty.
Hori again did this nonsense in a chapter where Ayoyama was found as a traitor. He made Iida say that its because of only Uraraka's speech that Civilians are in good terms with them. Again disregarding Izuku's efforts. People even say she is the only one who parallels Nana but heres the thing Uraraka isn't the only person who wanted to become a hero to see people smile & be happy. Infact this is & was Izuku's reason for becoming a Hero since he was little. hate how she gets the callback and hype during the JT arc and during this speech but not Izuku in any of his important arcs.
Considering how Hori never gave Izuku any recognition, i was thinking he was finally gonna give Izuku the recognition that he truly deserved in the solo arc. but he as usual used Izuku to praise another character while downplaying/dicrediting Izuku's efforts. Izuku deserves better. Hori did Izuku dirty as usual and neglected him.
I don't hate Uraraka but i don't agree on how she is viewed as a Light of Hope for everyone when she didn't do anything and was at her comfort zone in UA.
I can totally see where your coming from.
Izuku deserves better than what's happened to him in canon. It was really scummy of Hori to downplay Izuku's efforts and prop up Uraraka to be the MVP
And while I don't hate Uraraka, her speech really didn't do it for me and made me wish there more weight to it.

"Dude" — Bakugou Katsuki x Reader.
Summary: Your former bully, Midori, has confessed her undying love for one of the most famous guys at U.A.; you're just venting gossiping about it with Mei, not knowing Bakugou Katsuki is right around the corner, listening;
Warnings: None. Well, Bakugou Katsuki having various anger induced strokes > the normal > no warnings; light crackfic? subtle ending;
Word count: 4.5k;
[ Part 2 ];
Tumblr media
"She confessed to him." You grinned, throwing a bunch of fries into your mouth like the absolute animal you were.
Mei on the other hand continued her work on whatever in the world her new prototype, or "baby", was. Still, you had the honor of having half of her attention, which was a compliment to say at least.
She just smiled, shaking her head, leading you to continue, not knowing a blond was quite literally behind the corner, just outside the door leading to the support department, frown on his face.
"She came to class giggling like an idiot saying she's got a plan." You made a face into the distance, remembering your classmate's obnoxious squeal. "Ugh, she started telling the Divas how she's gonna have The Bakugou Katsuki in the bag." An ugly snort left your body, which earned an amused chuckle from Mei.
Both of you were pretty well known to be very good friends, and as much as you hated to admit it, you were both quite the social pariahs too. She was a little bit strange or weird, as some called her, but not for a single second she cared, which was the reason you admired the girl so much in the first place. Meanwhile you've taken the role of the bitch of the whole school by far. Sadly, you were placed in the same class as your archenemy, only increasing your chances of being called said endearing term.
Middle-school was a nightmare to say at least, getting bullied for your looks, the way you spoke or dressed, anything really as long as you were the one being mocked. And who was the one doing the bullying? Midori. Stunning, graceful, baby-faced Midori. Petite yet elegant, a devil in disguise. Whoever crossed her path suffered her malice unless she had something to gain from them.
And now, sweet Midori was in the U.A.'s General Studies, coinciding with you in the majority but not all classes. It had to do with the tragedy that your quirk was so rare that the principal Nezu had to adjust a new schedule just for you. Just kidding, it was amazing. The actual tragedy was seeing her face every day.
Back to your heartbreaking backstory and origin; time made you tough, comments made you build a wall so tall and thick nobody could crumble it. Backstab after backstab made you learn that not everyone has good intentions, but in your loneliness you found Hatsume Mei. So honest and dedicated, so raw and passionate. A good person. The type of person your parents promised you'd someway cross paths with and gain such a strong friendship that nothing could tear it apart.
Becoming friends with her was easy, kinda. It took snapping back at Midori when she started her normal bullying routine on Mei, which ignored it without a care. You stepped in and the rest is history. It did feel good though, calling her a pathetic bitch before turning to the stranger with a cool gadget in her hands to compliment it. And, since she's a sucker for her babies, you had to deal with an hour of sparkly eyes and monologues about her plans and prototypes.
Funny girl, Mei. You remember thinking but the following day you passed by her usual spot to fill your curiosity, asking if she did solve the problem she was complaining about.
"He was the one she was planning to ask out?" She screamed at you, head inside a giant metal gauntlet and the reason you two started talking about said man in particular. News were extra-fresh anyway.
"Oh, yeah!" You shook your head, ashamed to exist in the same general proximity as a person like your former bully. "He's gonna be so rich and famous!" A high pitched squeal left your mouth as you tried to copy her voice. "Poor fucking guy, if only he knew."
"But people know she's a bitch!" She screamed again, repairing or adjusting something with almost all of her body inside the gauntlet. A smile, genuine and soft this time, formed on your face. The pink-haired girl wasn't one to talk bad about others or even care, but it was clear she wasn't particularly fond with Midori either, although the conversation was more for you to vent rather than gossip. Sure it was.
"Like the people from the Hero Department even care about us, the commoners." With a roll of the eyes, you followed. "If he's smart, he'll run away. If he's an asshole, he could use her too."
"What do you mean?" Pink flocks of hair suddently submerged from the gadget, eyes curious zooming on you. That probably got more than 50% of her attention and it was a new personal goal while she was at the workshop.
With shrugged shoulders, your answer came nonchalant. "He could date her and dump her like she's nothing. Would serve her right for all the shit she's talking about him." But the only response you got was a short quizzical look, followed by your exagerated sigh. "She's talking shit about him constantly, but then says he's hot and that his personality doesn't matter anyway. Money, fame, looks. She has a whole fucking life-plan! Then calls him a rabid dog!"
"Woah—" that surprised her.
"Woah indeed! Insane. It's insane. I don't know the guy but no one deserves that shit." When you got no response, you continued your speech, munching in the food with passionate hunger, words coming out almost indistinguishable. "Doubt he'd play her though. He looks like a smart guy. I've seen the Sports Festival—" you picked up your burger, giving it heart eyes. "—and I've seen the news. He's probably a good guy too, the issue is people don't see that and... Well, I understand what's it to be judged... Not many have what it takes to be a real hero but he does. Hope he finds happiness in life." Much talk for someone that doesn't know shit about the guy in particular, but even so faint, your gut instinct was trained well enough to spot malice and he lacked that. "And a therapist." And there's the little shit in you that had to drop a cheeky comment.
Mei's gaze turned downwards and even if you could see her brain do mental gymnastics to solve whatever problem she had in front of her super-eyes, she also contemplated your words with great care.
"He comes here from time to time—" she grins, smacking the grenade looking gauntlet with her weird utensil. "I noticed you two are similar." Your face twisted, eyes wide towards the girl.
Similar how? He was loud, bold with a foul mouth, definitely needed a therapist for those unresolved anger issues... But he was also bright as in whenever he went, people looked in his direction, like he shined; obviously strong, also from what you've heard smart, popular, lucky to be surrounded by kind people. Example being that very nice pink girl that had a joyous conversation with you the very first day of school and, much to your surprise, continued greeting and having sweet small talks with you every single time you saw each other. Or the blond haired guy that showed off a little bit too much and made dumb flirty comments with no bad intentions, the same blond that waved at you with enthusiasm when you'd cross paths. There was the red-head, Kirishima, that was an absolute gentleman, opening doors for you even if you had two functioning hands and smiled so bright it made your corneas burn, or also the dark haired guy, Sero, that you've seen helping literally anyone in need around the school campus with an easy going attitude and gentle grins. Bakugou Katsuki was surrounded by good people, good heroes just as amazing as him and if they liked him, he must've definitely had some good in him, right? Another point appeared in your mental presentation about the brash hero in the making was that he was way too attractive but the wise burried deep inside of you made that particular point dissappear. No need to think about that. Overall you weren't even remotely similar. Not even close. Two completely different human beings from two completely different worlds that would never collide. With that being said, there was the small chance that Mei hinted for you to get a therapist too, who knows.
"How even—"
"I mean!" She screwed something in place. "I mean in your— determination?"
"I wouldn't know that." You muttered.
"He screams I'm gonna be the best every time he's here—"
"Cute..." You vomit that endearment without thinking, but thankfully it got ignored.
"—and it always reminds me of you." A small chuckle left your mouth.
"Don't make fun of me."
"You say it too~"
"I just heal, Mei, it's not the same." Principal Nezu's speech, the speech he gave your parents months into the first year as they found themselves aware of your power made you hold your words. You had it in you. The potential. If incredible people like your teachers, like Shuzenji Chiyo or Principal Nezu twisted things around for your quirk, for how rare and powerful it is, you'd accept it.
"But you're gonna be the best healer ever, aren't you?" She taunted.
"Of course. Which reminds me—!"
"Hmm?" Her attention faded away slightly, but it wasn't a problem.
She cheered, both at you and at her finished masterpiece and proceeded to eat too, passing through the lunch hour without interruption.
"Recovery Girl is putting me on active duty at the infirmary from now on. Finally!"
Innocent pale purple eyes stared into deep crimson ones, furrowed brows covering them.
—
Bakugou Katsuki wasn't one to enjoy being annoyed or surprised and this extra managed to make him feel both things in a short notice.
Everyone around him froze in fear or wonder, awaiting his response without breathing or moving an inch. Meanwhile Whoever-she-was held a pink envelope in front of him, a perfume too sweet coming from it making him want to literally gag in the spot.
Another thing the boy did not appreciate was to have someone bullshit him. His senses were telling him to back off, alarms ringing in his head and those purple eyes held hidden intentions; he wasn't having any of it.
"Fuck off." He snapped, yet his stance was casual as he refused to move out of her way since she was the one that had the audacity to run into him.
Some gasps, even coming from his so-called idiotic friends, could be heard and an indignant Bakubro behind him as he got slapped in the shoulder but he did not care. Not until her lips started to tremble as she retreated her confession letter towards her chest dramatically. His eyebrow started to twitch at the sight.
It was a spectacle for anyone surrounding him.
"What's going on?" Shushes and whispers.
"Bakugou Katsuki just got a confession!" Gossip.
"What!? Who?!" Confusion.
"You said Bakugou Katsuki?!" Shock.
"Oh, she's pretty!" Awe.
"He told her to Fuck off! What an asshole!" Outrage.
"Is that Midori?" Surprise.
"The nerve—" Anger.
"Midori from—" Disbelief.
"Oh, my God, she's really doing it~!" Giggles.
He frowned deeper. If people were to talk about him, they should be talking about all the crap he's been doing and all the lives he saved, not because of a fake bimbo decided to cross his path.
Bakugou wasn't stupid either. With time he knew these things would eventually come in his direction, stuff he'd have to deal with in the future as fame would take over, but not now. He did not have time to entertain this show anyway.
There was only one destination in his mind and she was keeping him in the middle of the whole school cafeteria with prying eyes on them both.
"Bakugou, do something, she's about to cry!" Dunce Face harshly whispered, but turned towards the white haired girl that looked devastated in front of them. "Ignore him! Ask me out, I would never make you cry!"
He rolled his eyes so back in his head it almost hurt. With a need to hurl the food he just ate, he made a step to leave the scene but small hands with claw-like fingernails gripped his arm and he looked at her in utter disgust.
"No, I would never! He—" she sniffled but had no tears in her eyes. He gave her a scowl, trying to take his arm out of her grip but she scratched him in place with her tiny rat hands. "You're the one I love! I—" her bangs covered her face as she continued her show.
"Bakugou! Dude! Do something!" Shitty Hair said, his dumb and blind trust in people buying the act. A vein almost popped on Bakugou's forehead.
"I fucking said—" he pulled his arm so hard she fell on her knees by his side. "Fuck. Off."
Another set of gasps filled the room.
"Bakugou!"
One thing he did not want, even if he could tell it was a foul theater, was to hurt somebody. His asshole act ended at that but his pride stopped him from saying anything.
Glancing to see if she's hurt, Pink Idiot was by her side, helping her up and asking way too many fucking questions.
"No, I'm fine..." she said with such a meek voice he scoffed, also hearing all the shit everyone around him was talking.
"He's such a brute."
"What a mean guy—"
"She's crying!"
"Fucking asshole."
He gritted his teeth.
After the disaster with the League of Villains in the first year, people started to respect him for who he was yet one single, minuscule shit like this and they were all at his jugular.
"I took Bakugou-san by surprise." She excused his behavior to Ashido, which then suggested they should eat lunch together sometimes to make up for the trouble after apologizing in his behalf.
"Yeah, we'd love to have you around! Isn't that right, Bakugou?" The apologetic and almost pleading voice of his blond friend, if he ever was going to call him that anymore, just made him bare his teeth. If they wanted to get played like fools it was their problem, not his.
And that's how he found himself eavesdropping on the weirdo and an extra.
And with a single "Whatever." he left the cafeteria, going to check if his gauntlets were ready, annoyance oozing off him, making the sea of people part from his path. Except he didn't notice you rushing away a little bit in front of him, holding a bag of food, all amused.
Why the fuck was everyone talking about him? Can't they fucking keep his pretty name outta their mouths? With time and without finding a reason why the hell he was glued in place, he listened attentively, his suspicions confirmed and his ego hurt, but whoever was talking about him calmed his nerves a lot. He just needed to put a face to that voice. Just to see who's gossiping about him, nothing else.
—
With a full belly and a whole afternoon to study by Recovery Girl's side, you marched towards the infirmary after you bid your farewell to Mei. There was still time to walk around, grab something sweet for later and save any poor soul that Midori decided to sink her teeth in. It was common at this point, you getting in between her and her victims and taking the hit, yet somehow also being called a bitch by everyone. That's how high-school worked. She did have friends and they spread any word she spat. Vultures.
It was fine though. Hero [Y/N] is there to save the day no matter what. You scoffed at your own stupidity, turning the corner just to step on a leg that was sprawled on the floor.
He clicked his tongue, getting up with no worry in the world, but made no action to leave, settling for observing and analyzing you way too intensely.
"Watch where the fuck you're going, idiot." The man of the hour, the guy you've defended in front of your friend just screamed at you as he dusted off the imprint of your shoe left on his pants. Meanwhile you just paled in place before regaining your composture.
"Why are you sitting on the floor?" You said, tilting your head with a frown, already knowing you will not apologize.
Unimpressed by what was going on, even if you truly couldn't point out what really was going on, you made an attempt to move past him towards the vending machines not far behind, but he caught your arm in a firm grip.
You blinked stupidly at the skin contact.
"Heard you were talkin' shit."
Your stomach dropped. Legs almost gave up too if it weren't for his iron grip holding you still. In the silence and at the satisfaction of the reaction you let out, he smirked and raised his chin, only Mei's singing voice coming from her workshop could be heard. Realization hit you. Hit you? Bitchslapped you in the face and left a mark for sure, because your cheeks started feeling heated, tingly.
He dragged you away, maybe to have the privacy to murder you in peace, but your common sense kicked in and you came back from the land of the mortified.
Much like he did before, action you saw with your two own eyes and repeated, you pulled out of his strong grip and stared as he turned towards you, mouth already opened to probably eat you alive.
"I wasn't talking shit about you, dude." You quickly spoke first.
"You don't fucking know me." He growled back, taking a step towards you but like hell you'd back down.
"Don't need to be besties to say what I said." Without understanding why he was so agitated, the only thing left to do after this beautiful turn of events was to defend the honor remaining in you, so you raised your chin to be at par with him. The action clearly took him by surprise, making him glare more, if even possible.
"I don't fucking appreciate when extras talk about me behind my back!"
"I don't give a shit what you appreciate, dude." Your laugh was the complete opposite of his menacing loud voice, like ying and yang.
"Bakugou, the name's fucking Bakugou, you extra!" Bakugou recovered quickly at your snappy self, getting more bothered as you talked.
"Okay, dude." His hands fisted, shaking in place as he stared you down but did not continue.
Silence; the hallway was now filled with silence as he boiled in his own anger and as you raised your brows in confusion. Now what? Was it time to leave? You've never met anyone like him, this was peculiar—
"NOW IT'S WHEN YOU FUCKING TELL ME YOUR SHITTY NAME, YOU FUCKING DUMBASS!"
A second passes; two; at the third you're wheezing your lungs out, laughing at the ridiculousness of the scenario.
"What the fuck are you LAUGHING AT?!" His voice got louder just to top your howling. You did not expect that.
Through a sigh, regaining your breath, you say "It's [L/N] [Y/N].", seeing him retreat in his form and cross his arms. He was still seizing you up.
"If you have shit to say to me, say it to my fucking face, understood?"
"I—... Say what now?"
"I—." He copied in a mock, getting an incredulous look from you. "You stupid or what?" Your upper lip lifted, ready to cuss him to infinity and beyond but he continued. "Like about that bitch from before and shit—" even if he still was loud, he placed his hands in his pockets and looked more interested in the way the tiles on the wall were placed instead of your person. "An' like you told the weirdo—"
No time to be shocked at the implied; his last word enraged you, making your body shake with rage. "Don't fucking dare to call her a weirdo ever again."
Like a challenge, he snapped his face back at you, ready to take it.
"Or what?"
"Listen here, fucker—" now that was a nice surprised face he was pulling. "Just because I gave you a pat on the back in there doesn't mean you can disrespect people just because you think you're the shit. You're not. Now get out of my fucking way." With a final push to his shoulder, your mind was focused on going to the infirmary, steam almost coming out of your nostrils.
"Hey, extra!"
Ignore him, ignore him, ignore him. went through your mind, marching away without a glance back. Not until—
"[L/N]! You're a healer, hah?" That's interesting. He stood where you left him, watching.
"What's it to you?"
Someone sane would've left at your tone but this guy walked towards you then showed you his arms, recently scratched. Images came back to you about the cafeteria incident but did not underst—... did he want to get healed?
You scoffed.
"They're scratches, dude."
"They annoy me. Now heal." All the energy you had left in your body was channeled towards the slow blink you threw at him, at which he scoffed. But they did look nasty— and Midori did them. It was a curse by itself to look down at your own arms and remember that face, so the guardian angel in you decided to take control and be the better person.
Gentle fingers barely tapped his muscular arm. Smile crept up on your lips, feeling absolutely delighted at his obvious stiffness at the skin contact and the clear interest in his eyes, specially when the scratches started disappearing into nothing, leaving smooth silk skin under.
"Hey— Wha— Where the fuck do you think you're going?!" raspy voice got lost in the distance and one thought in your head.
"Want a lollipop for being a good patient too?" You mock and his face explodes in all shapes of red. It would've been great to mock him more, enthralled by his reactions, but with that you turned and left, ignoring the tingling under your fingers that should not be there and your stomping heart.
Did he wait all the lunchbreak to talk to you?
—
A long queue was ahead of you, earning the longest sigh out of your lungs. Life was pain sometimes. Mei couldn't hang out, food was too far away, the delicious croissants Lunch Rush made ran out as far as you could see. Pain. Just pure pain.
And disappointment. When you walked away with your food in a bag, maybe to sit under a tree and enjoy some peace and quiet, you saw her. Midori sitting at a table you did not expect. At the same table where Ashido Mina, Denki Kaminari, Kirishima Eijirou and Hanta Sero sat at. Good people. Honest, good people about to get bitten by a snake. If she was there, then Bakugou decided—
"You. Sit."
Thinking about the boy somehow summoned him behind you. Food in hand and bored expression on his face, he passed you not without giving you a stink eye. Indeed, disappointment.
You shrugged, trying not to pay much attention to the pang in your heart as you moved forward, but a voice— his voice stopped you in your tracks.
"You. Get the fuck out of my face." His growl made everyone around him turn to watch, you being one of them. There was no excuse to what came next, no way to run away past it and dissappear. He nodded his head at you out of all people and pointed at the seat still occupied by Midori; her purple eyes big, shocked, running between your frame and the blond's.
Do you know what it felt to be put in the spotlight without warning? Well, congratulations because that was your life now.
"Ba—Bakugou-san?" Her voice, now highed up and meek followed, then a small scream as Bakugou slammed his food on the table. His friends sat there, wide-eyed, but made no attempt to interrupt.
"Did I fucking stutter, bitch? Or want me to turn into a rabid dog for fucking real?"
You choked on your own spit, bag of goodies about to drop on the floor once you saw her horrified face. She knew that he knew. And when her pale eyes, filled with sudden malice, act dropped, turned to you it's when you realized she figured out where he found out from.
Not like you cared, really, but the little shit that always had to poke out every time she was in the same room as you decided to finally show up, making you wave and send her a wink.
"I said MOVE!" now— that growl, raspy and filled with anger startled her. The orange juice in her hands spilled all over her uniform and woke her up from whatever delusion she was in. With zero time to reconsider, every belonging of hers was picked up with trembling hands and she ran away to her group of cockroaches.
A smile was already settled on your face; your brain was storing that whole interaction deep within, ready to bring it back up whenever you needed a good laugh.
Life was pain and disappointment, you say? No. Life was great. Or more importantly, Bakugou was. Not like he needed to know. But he was a decent guy as he proved—
"THE FUCK YOU STANDING THERE LIKE A DUMBASS?! I SAID SIT!" —to be a pain in the fucking ass and the bane of your existence.
You gave him a face then turned to walk away, even rushing more when you heard his chair screeching on the floor. The exit was so close, so near, freedom never felt this great, the sunlight kissing your skin giving you a new hope to live. But not for long because he grabbed your hand and started dragging you towards his table.
Your hand was in his hand and he was dragging you—
Your hand— his big, warm, a little bit sweaty hand—
How could you ruin such a beautiful moment? Eyes on you two, shocked, silence, his adorable red ears being the only thing you could see as he was completely in front of you, still dragging you towards his friends...
"Did you wait all lunchbreak yesterday to talk to me?" You collided into him as you finished the sentence, his way taller form stiffened so much you felt you single-handedly broke Bakugou Katsuki for good.
But when he turned... Oh, when he turned. Biggest deer-caught-in-the-headlights eyes you've ever seen on anyone, cheeks painted so red you almost melted in the spot, lips trembling as his head worked a thousand miles per second just to find a retort. And you prepared yourself for—
"NO, I FUCKING DIDN'T! WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT, YOU FUCKING EXTRA? I'D NEVER WAIT FOR SOMEONE LIKE YO— ARE YOU EVEN LISTENING TO ME!" Mina's waving hand caught your attention and smiled at her. Your hand was still in his, gripped harshly as he still hasn't noticed it's still there.
"Hey! [L/N], long time no see!" She cheered, ignoring the living shit out of her screaming friend, like she's used to it.
"FUCKING LOOK AT ME WHEN I TALK TO YOU—"
"Hey, chill, dude. Now let go of my hand, I wanna talk to Ashido." You smiled sweetly, making extra effort to wave your linked hands arond until he finally noticed. He zapped his hand away so fast, like he's been bitten by a wild animal. Maybe even a rabid dog, if you will.
You couldn't ignore your own flustered state as you walked past him, giving him a one up, adding the absolute scandalized face he had into the back of your mind for safekeeping.
"Come sit with us!" The pinkette offered.
"Oh, hey, I know you! You're by Hatsume's workshop all the time!" Kirishima intervened with a surprised face that broke into a grin. "Nice to officially meet—"
"I fucking said." he appeared, sitting in front of you. "My name's Bakugou."
"Ok, dude, but I'm talking to someon—"
"BAKUGOU KATSUKI!" Could be heard from the stratosphere.
Tumblr media
Note: I just realized Midori means Green [ fucking duh ] but I'm not gonna change the name or her description. I think her parents fucking up her name was the start of many accidents leading into the Midori we all know and hate. Also, I know you understand. We all know a Midori in our lives. Much love.
Note 2: I keep editing it but tumblr dot com slash Install App on Phone fucks my editing and switches paragraphs all around! If you find any PLEASE tell me, I'd really appreciate it!!!

fic title: the girl with flowers in her bones
Izumi learns she has a Quirk age six when the weird bump on her shoulder is inspected by a doctor who cuts it open to reveal a pretty flower.
Said flower quickly changed and becomes deadly, nearly killing a nurse before it’s destroyed.
No one knows how it got there but now people know about it. At first Izumi is happy. She has a Quirk.
Then she isn’t.
“It’s a useless Quirk!” Kacchan taunts her. “Perfect for a useless girl like you! Flowers under the skin! Pathetic!”
Kacchan burns her shoulder and she goes home crying.
Later a flower develops where she’s been burned and after some quiet conversation with Inko about how her husband had left because of Izumi’s Quirkless status and Izumi had heard it, they figured it out.
The flowers bloom when someone hurts her. They bloom and the doctors do a scan revealing many more flowers all over her- some were small and no one could see them. Little hurts the doctors theorized.
They still had to be removed. Izumi has been getting slower, becoming more exhausted each day. It’s the flowers.
Izumi numbly lets it happen.
But it happens again. And again.
Flowers bloom because people keep hurting her. They turn deadly when exposed to the air.
“Freak, monster, liar-“ it’s all shouted at her by her class. Kacchan leads the charge.
His flowers are always an orange lily. Hatred.
Izumi wonders if it means him or her who hates the other. When it becomes a sweet pea, she has a feeling she knows why she is receiving a goodbye.
She stops growing flowers for him. Because she knows she will only get pain from him, because he is no longer one she believes to be a friend.
“The flowers are signs of betrayal,” she changes the classification. “I can only be hurt by those I do not think would hurt me, those I trust. Once I stop trusting or believing they will not hurt me the flowers stop.”
Her mother sobs upon hearing it. Inko then goes and terrifies the Bakugou family, promising that unless Kacchan leaves her alone Inko would go after them.
Kacchan doesn’t listen.
So Inko slaps them with a lawsuit she wins. It’s enough for Izumi to go to a new school where she sits quietly and doesn’t talk.
There people whisper still but it’s sad whispers.
“Her Quirk hurts her.”
“No, it’s people hurting her which sets off her Quirk.”
“She’s so quiet.”
Izumi just works. The only one she trusts is her mother. Inko who tries so hard not to hurt her, who is honest and open. Who gives her books on flowers and smiles.
When Inko hurts Izumi she leaves violets and lavender. And they’re always small, so small. Small hurts, being too honest with her daughter.
Izumi loves her mother for it.
Izumi grows and soon she finds herself applying for UA. She wants to be a hero and her mother frets and admits she isn’t sure if Izumi can do but the two have researched and researched and well, they think they can figure a way out. Sports festival- she just needs to beat all the other students.
She thinks she can. The money they won from the lawsuit had helped Izumi not only get into a new school but also got her into a martial arts studio. Her mother insisted.
Probably was upset with how many flowers Izumi grew from cuts and burns and bruises. Those were the bigger ones, when they were left on purpose. They pushed against the skin, looked strange.
Funny, Izumi noticed that she didn’t gain flowers sparring.
“It’s probably based on intention. When you gain flowers from bruises or cuts and they’re from people doing it to hurt you and betray you, they come as flowers. But when it’s done as a fight or a spar it’s on purpose still but it’s not a betrayal of yourself.” Her Quirk therapist theorizes.
It makes sense.
Izumi goes to UA after failing the entrance exam and ends up in 1C where she finds herself meeting a boy who is like her. Sharp and broken and hurt.
Shinsou is a friend and she finds herself chuckling at his comments.
Their friendship only blooms truly though when she meets Kacchan again. He sees her and attacks, screaming. She fights back. Shinsou speaks and stops Kacchan and Izumi looks at him, seeing something similar back.
The situation ends with Izumi in the principal’s office telling her story. She looks him in the eyes tiredly.
Kacchan is removed from UA- apparently, the lawsuit hadn’t been included in his application.
“It was when he was ten!” His mother tries.
“It still happened and you lied,” Nezu tells her. Izumi isn’t supposed to be there but she went to the office to pick up some papers.
She thinks her homeroom teacher arranged it.
“The papers are supposed to show us if we need to watch out students for anything. You lied on the application.”
Izumi doesn’t know what to think as she slides away. She hasn’t seen Kacchan in years. Hasn’t spoken to him.
Yet he still tried to attack her. He hasn’t learned anything.
Izumi has left him behind. The pain he caused ended any relationship between them.
He is a child. He can learn, if he wishes.
She feels as if she is choking when she runs into someone.
“Ah,” the person says and she blinks at a girl with red and white hair. It’s long and in a braid as she stares at Izumi. There’s a burn scar on her face and as Izumi looks into her eyes she sees the same sort of pain Izumi has.
The girl nods and leaves and Izumi stares after her in confusion.
Then she has to head to class and Shinsou and it’s a mess.
A flower blooms under her cheek as she speaks and she wonders if it’s from the shock someone attacked her at UA or it’s because she always hoped Kacchan would change the longer she left him.
“It’s not the same.” She tells Shinsou. “I was in hell until I was ten and then just isolated after.”
“It’s close,” Shinsou tells her. He touches her cheek and she closes her eyes. “It’s growing?”
“Yeah. It used to be orange lilies. It might be the same now.”
It is. It’s removed by Recovery Girl and Izumi breathes and doesn’t try to think.
She doesn’t know what to think about anything.
She thinks in a way that expelling him was to much. She understands that they lied, that they removed the evidence of the trial. But did they truly know that it counted?
Kacchan is a child and needs to learn things.
At the same time, he tried to attack her.
Her mind feels muddled and confused and Shinsou tries to help but it’s different for him. His bullies were cruel and never stopped and yet he never expected it either to stop.
You can only be betrayed by a friend.
He tries but they fight and eventually he yells that she’s worthless if she wishes to let a boy who hurts her back into UA.
She flinches and he does too.
Shinsou reaches for her but she leaves, feeling sick.
Izumi wanders UA campus after that- a week after the Kacchan incident- a week after the USJ got invaded. With Kacchan in the office the class hadn’t gone to USJ, something all of them expresses relief about.
Izumi wanders and then runs into the red and white girl again. She’s training in the gym that all students are allowed to Izumi wandered to it out of habit. Usually she and Shinsou train- Shinsou finally accepting that he needs to train his body.
He’s not with her though, and she feels her shoulder ache.
Shinsou didn’t mean it, he was angry and didn’t understand. Izumi gets it.
But it still was a hurt.
“... are you okay?” The girl asks and Izumi blinks, realizing she’s been standing in the gym staring off into space.
“I’m fine.” She says. “I got into a fight with my friend.” The girl looks at her and Izumi sighs.
“My Quirk lets me know when I’ve been hurt,” Izumi explains. “The hurts become flowers under my skin. Ever hurt, physical, emotional, mental, minor or major.” Izumi sighs.
“... you were the one Bakugou attacked, the reason we did not go to the USJ.,” The girl says calmly.
“We were friends once. He hurt me badly, and we stopped. He tried again, my mom sued him and his family and they didn’t put the trial in his transcripts. So he’s been expelled and I just
I feel bad for him. He’s hurt me but I cared for him once and is it fair that he was a child when this happened and he’s still himself a child?” Izumi sighs. “Sorry. I-“
“I have similar feelings to my brother and mother.” The girl offers. Her face is slightly blank. She looks at Izumi, cocking her head slightly. “My father is not a nice man and he’s only stopped hurting us due to blackmail my eldest brother has given. I’m under the custody of my second eldest brother. My other siblings were deemed unsuited and my mother is in a mental health institute.”
“Oh!” Izumi blinks. “You didn’t-“
“You told me.” The girl shrugs. “I’m Todoroki Shouto.”
“Midoriya Izumi.”
It’s the start of something.
From the hurt Shinsou dealt jasmine is dug from Izumi’s skin and he apologizes over and over again. She tells him it’s not okay but she understands he didn’t truly mean it.
It makes her sad still.
She and Todoroki meet from time to time in the gym, speaking. Sometimes Shinsou joins them, sometimes not. He wishes to keep his Quirk private, wishing to get into the hero course like Izumi wishes.
Todoroki is kind, Izumi finds. She’s standoffish and blunt but she’s kind.
Her story is a sad one, told over gym meetings. Her father is Endeavour and he wished to overcome All Might. He had children to force it, and the abuse he placed his family through broke her mother.
Todoroki loves her mother. She loves her dearly but cannot face her.
“I used to blame myself, thinking it might be my fault she burned me. Natsuo, my brother, he got me into therapy and I’ve learned it wasn’t. I was a child, it was not on me. And yet my mother is ill.” Todoroki explains. “I care deeply for her but
I can’t face her right now. Because I have learned it is not my fault what she did and I have to adjust.”
Her brother, her eldest brother Touya, is a different story.
“He blamed me for the abuse. Said it was all my fault, hated the fact I was a girl too. Kept going on I was a screw-up, that I was disgusting. He’s in therapy to now but
I don’t talk to him. Ever if I can help it. Natsuo says he’s getting better but he won’t make me do anything. My sister keeps trying to get us to forgive our dad. We don’t want to.” Todoroki tells her. “It’s a mess.”
Todoroki doesn’t know what to do herself. Her brother was young when he became angry, and her mother ill. Neither were fully at fault, and yet she struggles.
It’s nice to talk to someone who understands.
Their friendship grows and Izumi wonders why it feels different then from her and Shinsou.
Yet as she watches Todoroki smile, she thinks she knows.
At the sports festival, Izumi and Shinsou manage to get to the tournament. They manage to claw their way to the semi-finals, determining who will go on to compete for first.
Shinsou insults her, curses her. And then he confesses.
Izumi keeps her mouth shut and shoved him out, even as she feels the flowers begin to bloom.
She does tell him she doesn’t feel the same.
“I know,” Shinsou tells her. “It’s Todoroki. You two smile all the time around each other, you laugh and have fun.” He shrugs sadly. “I just wanted to be honest.
Izumi accepts it, and later she finds the flowers to be yellow tulips.
One-sided love.
Yet first comes the finals, where Izumi screams at Todoroki to use her fire, even as the girl refuses to use it.
“I won’t use his power!” She yells.
“It’s not his! It’s yours!” Izumi cries back.
It’s chaos and destruction and in the end, Izumi has a silver medal.
And she has a smile she treasures.
It’s not love, not yet. But it has a chance to be.
A chance they cultivate, a chance they find becoming stronger and stronger as time goes on. As she and Shinsou enter the hero course, as she fights to protect a boy she barely knows on the streets of Hosu, protecting her hero mentor as well.
It’s a chance she takes, kissing Todoroki after the final exams. Todoroki accidentally burns her in shock and feels horrible.
Izumi treasures the fact a red rose blooms under her skin.

Student Aizawa x (she/her) student reader, so much angssssttt and grief and a bunch of fluff. (Do not bring any pedo shit into my presence or I will fucking destroy you
MANGA SPOILERS until episode 107 comes out. - also this requires context that I am not providing from MHA manga and the arc with Aizawa in Vigilantes. TW: death. 9 part series.
Tumblr media
Ch 1 here | Ch 3 here | Ch 5 here
Ch 4. The Morning
First years don’t do work studies so you had spent a lot of time at home studying general symptoms of invisible illnesses, that way you could properly heal people in need. Your friends were all at least a year above you so they were all in work studies after school, and have been for a while. Nemuri, Aizawa, and Oboro had been studying at His Purple Highness’s agency, and Hizashi was with some other hero you’d never heard of, but he had a voice type quirk so that intrigued Hizashi. Since Nemuri was a 3rd year, she was at the same agency as Oboro and Aizawa but frequently went on different, more high-level missions. You hadn’t seen her costume (or lack of costume) yet, but you saw Hizashi’s. Oboro and Aizawa frequently wore their hero costumes to school anyway, since they were comfortable. Somehow, you were a little jealous that they got to have that experience together, but you chose general studies for a reason, though the thought of being a hero and having your own costume dangled in the back of your mind. Your mind envisioned this while you snoozed your alarm and laid in bed, somehow still didn’t get enough sleep.
But first you had to get through today.
As you got ready for school, usually a mundane task that took no effort, it required a lot more thought today.
‘Should I wear something nice? Maybe then Aizawa would think I looked cute. But maybe he would think I tried to hard, or that I would never have a chance with him.’ Oboro could be totally wrong.
But if you wore what you usually wore, maybe he would think you aren’t serious, and that you don’t care if he likes you. And you definitely do care.
‘There’s no way Aizawa was putting this much thought into today
.was there? ‘
You made your way to school, thoughts buzzing in your head, hands shaking, having a silent conversation with yourself about all the possibilities.
‘What if he confesses at lunch? What if he KILLS ME AT LUNCH. What if he doesn’t show up to lunch? Would that make me sad? Relieved? Disappointed?’
You’d never thought about this long enough to even entertain the idea of him finding out you were interested in him. Had this happened to you before? Had you felt like this with anyone else before, ever?
You made your way through your classes in a daze, lazily taking down sorry excuses for notes and daydreaming. Your deskmate leaned over and whispered ‘hello are you there?’ And you realized you were lost in thought while you were supposed to be working on a group project.
‘Man, this is debilitating. How am I supposed to work like this. Why do I have to have a stupid crush’
The bell rang and your heart stopped for a second, recognizing it was time for your lunch hour with Aizawa. You and Aizawa. Together. Alone. You took a deep breath, walked up the stairs, and opened the door to the roof.
No one was there.
‘Maybe he’s late? I did get here pretty fast
’ your heart was racing.
You sat down at your usual spot and got your lunch out, but you were too jittery to eat. You waited 10, 15, 20 minutes and realized he wasn’t going to show up. He wasn’t coming.
‘Probably because he hates me. I’m an idiot for thinking I could ever be with him. Why the hell would I think he could like me??’ Fuckin Oboro must’ve been messing with you.
Your phone dinged and it about made you jump out of your skin. It was a email to all UA students and teachers it read something like;
Please excuse the students in work studies with #4, #6, His Purple Highness, and All Might agencies. There have been a few larger villains that have appeared in their districts, and they’ve asked for the assistance of their students. We do not yet know if these attacks are connected. Thank you for upholding the beliefs of our school.
We wish you a plus ultra day!
Principal Nezu
You sighed, somewhat relieved. Maybe he didn’t hate you, he had been taken out of school for his work study. You didn’t know much about work studies yet, so this didnt even cross your mind as an option while your thoughts were racing earlier, but it was a pretty common occurrence. You settled down and started eating your lunch as it was about to end. You opened up the group chat.
✹ CATfĂ© chat ✹
Y/n - just got the email from the school, good luck today you guys! you don’t need the extra luck though đŸ˜‰â€ïž
The rest of the day went without anything out of the ordinary. No one answered you on your chat but that was not surprising, everyone was really busy. Even though Hizashi wasn’t at his work study, he never had his phone out in class, which you found admirable. You made it through the end of the day, heart and soul unscathed, and it made you feel a little brighter about the next day. Maybe this would all be okay, even if Oboro told Aizawa. Your friends were great people, you knew that much, and they wouldn’t let something so small get in between each other.
You went home, kicked off your shoes, and sat on the couch for some studying. Your house was always cold, so you brought over a blanket to snuggle in, and had some quiet music playing, just for fun. You felt content.
And then you got the call.
“Y/n.”
“Zashi? What’s up you never call me?”
“Something happened.”

BNHA - STOPPING, OR SAVING DABI?
Here I come with theories!
DISCLAIMER: I do not condone abuse, may it be emotional, physical or psycological.
Now, as I’ve stated in the tags and the meta on chapter 325, I like the whole Todoroki family. Aside from Shouto and Enji, they may seem like minor characters, but they are actually well enstablished and deep and their reactions and reasoning after Endeavor begins his atonement arc are very nuanced.
I’m sure you already know what the point of view of every family member is: Rei won’t forgive him, but she’s also watching as he stones for his past awful deeds; Fuyumi is probably the one that wants to forgive Endeavor the most in order to have a semblance of a normal family; Natsuo righteously hates him to the moon and back, and Shouto is still on the fence but willing to work alongside his father on a professional standpoint. At times, Shouto also calls him “Father”, but only in certain circumstances and very rarely. And then...
Then we have Todoroki Touya, Enji and Rei’s firstborn.
I won’t be talking about Fuyumi, Rei or Natsuo much on this post; I’ll concentrate on Touya, Shouto and Enji. They are, at least from what the narrative seems to be building up, the focus of the Todofam arc.
Let’s start with Touya, or at least I’ll write how I’m interpreting the narrative here...You can disagree, people have different ways of reading the same text.
He wants his father to go down, burn in hell, HARD. And he doesn’t really care if it takes to kill Shouto, whom he sees as his replacement, or put Natsuo’s life in the crossfire: anything that makes Endeavor suffer is justified. He even goes as far as killing innocent people and being an accomplice and supporter of terrorism, and bringing his family’s trauma and situation out in the public without their consent: one may argue it was correct to expose Enji, but in my humble opinion the approach was wrong. Touya wanted his father to suffer, without realizing or caring enough that his family may have traumatic reactions to the reveal as he did it, or may not be ready for it. He also isn’t doing it out of genuine feelings of justice, in my opinion: he’s weaponising the narration to bring down his father and the heroes.
Touya, at times, accuses Endeavor of killing the innocent people HE killed with HIS fire, because Endeavor’s grave neglect and irresponsible behavior towards his situation caused Touya to start hurting himself to the point of burning up at Sekoto Mountain, before vanishing and becoming a Villain because of, presumably, all the unresolved pain and feelings pent up inside of him.
Shouto is saved by the deadly fire embrace of his brother by Midoriya, that agrees with Touya about the fact that the past never dies, and as much as Endeavor will change, the past won’t; Midoriya admits this while saying that the actual Endeavor is trying to change, and Dabi isn’t Endeavor: which means that Dabi can’t fault Endeavor for those he killed and his uncaring behavior towards those that suffered his same trauma.
As some argued, during the war Touya is shown as an ensemble of Endeavor’s worst traits, which is important as it signifies that his behavior originates from the way Endeavor raised him.
Now, onto Shouto.
Shouto, who we’ve seen being on the fence when it comes to forgiving Endeavor, actually seems to be trying to empathize with Touya during their fight, various times, really, as can be seen by his expressions. He also takes it upon himself to stop Touya before his family reunites in the hospital and opt to stop Touya together, with Endeavor and Shouto as the focal point.
Sorry  I have to go.
I will finish this tomorrow I swear--
EDIT: Expect this to be over tonight. I'm currently busy.
EDIT: I'll reblog this and complete it later.
EDIT:
Here we are once more. Sorry for making you guys wait.
As I was saying...
After Shoto extends his hand to his father in the hospital, and some months (I don’t remember how many, sry) after the press conference where the Top 3 spoke to the public, the Top Three throw themselves after Midoriya, that as abandoned UA, trying to track AFO and his followers down.
And Shouto...well, he isn’t happy, much like the rest of Class 1A: they are majorly upset and preoccupied because Midoriya is missing, but Shouto is also angered by the fact that his father is following Midoriya around instead of concentrating on how to convince Touya to stop hurting himself and others and thus STOP/SAVE HIM. This is what, presumably, Shouto and Endeavor’s goal is regarding to Touya: stop him from being hurt and hurting others with his flames, which will save him and give them a chance to repair the strained relationship.
Endeavor, Hawks and Best Jeanist’s mission to follow and support Midoriya in the meanwhile is failing splendidly: they endeavored (I’mnotsorryforthepun) in this mission because they wanted to compensate the lowering number of heroes active, hunt down villains and find AFO at the same time, all by profiting from Midoriya’s Danger Sense ability. The plan di per se wasn’t that bad, but Midoriya was going too fast for even Hawks, the fastest hero, to follow him; a reminder of why: Midoriya has a lot more Quirks than the top 3, and he was way more desperate than them to find AFO, trust me...the heroes, that also started to include Mt.Lady, Edgeshot, Kamui Woods and others, try to support him from the sidelines, but they are, at the same time, becoming a burden to Midoriya, as Endeavor recognizes before entering UA in chapter 325.
Also, the students mentored by the top 3 try to reach out to them like crazy, because they want to know what the fudge they’re doing and where Midoriya is: Tokoyami called Hawks, Bakugou tried to contact Best Jeanist and Shouto called Endeavor, without receiving exhaustive answers. Endeavor, in particular, doesn’t really want to sideline Shouto, after all they’ve been through, but when he missed the call, he was probably also feeling uncertain on how to deal with Touya, while at the same time worriyng on how to stop AFO and make sure the chaos the country is in doesn’t become worse. When he’s called to UA by Nezu and played a trick by the students who have now started figuring things out, he receives a wake-up call by his son.
Shouto makes him notice how they had told each other they’d stop Touya together, but Endeavor had sidelined him and took it upon himself to find his eldest son and Shouto’s older brother, all while making an exception for Midoriya. I don’t think Shouto didn’t understand his father was also trying to find AFO, but he also didn’t want Endeavor to ditch him and instead wanted to be included. Endeavor seems to slowly understand that the plan he and the other top heroes were following REALLY wasn’t going for the best, thanks not only to Shouto’s wake up call but to Bakugou’s words as well. If All Might, or Midoriya in this case, are left alone with the full weight of their responsibilities heavy on their shoulders, they are going to hurt themselves tremendously. While Endeavor thought that the plan was a good approach, Bakugou clearly says that it wasn’t the best one. Endeavor gives up his phone and looks to be reflecting on many things.
When the class works together to help Midoriya and bring him back to UA, he finally realizes that letting the kids convince Deku was a good idea and tells his colleagues not to intervene, for the students are dealing with it just fine.
We later see him out of the UA barrier with Hawks and Shouto, listening to the citizens screaming at Midoriya to stay away, scared for their safety and mistrustful towards the heroes; not even Best Jeanist and Present Mic can keep them calm. Shouto is super frustrated: he would love to go amidst the civilians and protect Midoriya form their accusations, “put them at ease” like his original heroic goal was. The circumstances, however, don’t seem to be his allies; he still looks extremely relieved when Uraraka takes the megaphone and finally convinces the citizens.
And, here we are to the last actual moment of the STOPPING TOUYA TO SAVE HIM narrative: Endeavor, after recognizing what exactly was wrong with the top 3 plan, looks a bit shocked when Shouto addresses him as “father”. He also look very...sad, somehow: sorry that things aren’t working out as well as he’d have hoped them to go, and that the Touya situation is still unresolved. Shouto extends a hand to him again, by saying that this time they’ll save Touya together. The thought of Dabi’s haunting eyes crosses both of them. Endeavor is probably still afraid that stopping Touya may be a burden too heavy for Shouto when he says, his face a bit obscured, “yes”.
THEORY TIME!
The narration seems to be headed towards the redemption of Shigaraki, Toga, Dabi, Endeavor and mayyyyyybe Overhaul. We know that Shigaraki’s saviour may be Midoriya, Toga’s will be Uraraka, and Overhaul’s rademtion’s factor will mainly be if Eri wants to forgive him.
Endeavor’s redemption’s weight depends on how efficient he actually is at saving Touya at this point and Dabi’s redemption will probably happen thanks to Shouto with contribution from Endeavor. To resume: Endeavor and Touya’s redemption are tied to each other, and Shouto is fundamental to help them both.
How could Hori bring forth Endeavor’s redemption without screwing over Dabi’s redemption, and not screw Endeavor’s redemtion at the same time? I’ll be focusing on Endeavor and dabi here, because I really don’t know how the dialogue between Shouto may be written.
I have no clue. Sorry I don’t. There are some viable options, like Endeavor gets kidnapped or fatally wounded while he fights Dabi because AFO is also there, and could ultimately steal his Quirk. In this case, Endeavor could be alone or with Shouto.
There is also the option in which Endeavor dies while trying to stop Touya from burning up, while recognizing his mistakes, validating Touya’s harsh feelings and accepting to burn in hell.
Frick, they could both die as they burn up, both recognizing the wrong in their ways, but it wouldn’t be really satisfying now would it?
There are so many outcomes possible, but with everyone of them i feel like something is missing. I also feel like I’m the only one that wouldn’t find Endeavor’s death outrageous because “it’s sweeping things under the rug”, or counterproductive because “it would suck for Endeavor’s redemption arc, because everyone is tired of the redemption-by-death trope”.
Endeavor’s death could actually be the best moment of his redemption arc and what makes it truly valuable, depending on how well it is written. Maybe Endeavor isn’t sitting at that table in his dream because he died, and his death actually helped his family heal and smile, because while he had changed his views in the year before his death, it’s still relieving to be free from his presence. However, Touya isn’t present at the table as well, so really...the conclusion to both of their arcs could be anything. Some may say that making Dabi die would be wrong on an ethical standpoint: yet another victim’s death, that makes victims in the real world think there is no hope out of difficult situations; yet another unfair death, because abusers deserve death and not their victims.
Let me tell you why, exactly, I think, neither of their deaths would be useful; you are free to disagree.
Endeavor’s, Touya’s or both their deaths could make the future of the Todofam very traumatic, because the family wouldn’t really manage to find proper closure.
Which is why I don’t think Endeavor or Dabi will or should die, but they will both live with consequences: maybe Endeavor will lose his Quirk, and Touya may turn on AFO and protect Shouto.
I don’t know, honestly.
Plz. help.
All I know is that Horikoshi will surely try to make the outcomes as emotional and epic as ever, so I hope I won’t be disappointed, because so far I’ve been on board with seeing where Endeavor and Touya’s journey may bring them
Anxiously waiting for the next episode, and end of this volume.

The Girl that fell From the Sky
Shoto Todoroki x Reader
Summary: You fell from the sky. Literally
Warnings::: Profanity, abusive mother, throwing of glass bottles, cigar burns
Tumblr media
You closed the door to your moms beat down apartment. The scent of booze and smoke thick in the air. You quietly made your way to your room hoping that your mother was not in the living room. But to your dismay, there she was, hunched over with a cigarette in her hand.
“Y/n” She spoke. “Look at what you’ve done to me”
You rolled your eyes and tried to escape before she could continue. But with a grip to your arm, you were stopped.
“Let me go” you struggled.
“You’re the reason your father left me. 16 years later and your still here instead of him. I should’ve aborted you” The middle-aged woman spat.
“He left because your batshit crazy”you cried as you tried to loosen her grip on your arm.
She inhaled her cigarette and presses it against your arm. You hiss in response to the burn. You finally tug your arm away and quickly walked to your room. Ignoring the insults your mother spewed.
“Same shit” you huffed closing your room door “different day”.
You inhaled the aroma of vanilla that heavily scented your room. Your plugin air freshener doing the job it was intended to do. Which is to keep the smell of your mother out.
You made your way to your bed, which is covered in unfinished manga books. You absentmindedly picked up the closest one to you and start reading. You smiled at the illustration of All Might and Midoriya. Your smile dropped into a confused frown as the illustration started glowing a bright light.
You run your fingers against the glow, only to make the light shine brighter.
“What the hell?” You cursed. You watched as the light spread throughout the pieces of paper. Your sight blurred as the light shun brighter. And then everything went black.
You woke up to a bright light shining in your eyes. You rapidly blinked and held your hand up to shield yourself from its rays.
“Good” a voice spoke. “You’re awake”
You sat up on the bed you were in and rubbed at your eyes.
Where were you? And what happened to the book?
“Can I please have your first and last name” the voice spoke again.
You turned to see where the voice was coming from. You were met with an old lady. Not just a normal old lady. THE Recovery Girl. You opened and closed your mouth like a fish out of water. You were speechless!
How could this be? Were you transported into their world? Are you dreaming?
“Um miss? Your name?” Recovery Girl asked again.
“Oh shit” you mumbled. “My apologies. I’m Y/N L/N”
The woman nodded her head and typed away on her computer. “Well Ms. L/N. There’s no record of you existing anywhere Japan.”
“Well you see” you started. “I’m not even sure how I got to Japan ma’am.”
“She came from a reality rip. Of course she’s not in the system” another voice spoke.
You turned to see Principal Nezu on an irritated looking Aizawa Sensei’s shoulders. Your eyes widened at the two and you were speechless for the second time today.
Wait. Did he just say reality rip?
“We must keep her here in case she manifested a quirk on her trip down.” The principal spoke again. He then turned to you and smiled. “I’m Principal Nezu. And this is Shouta Aizawa. He will be your sensei”
“I-I’m Y-Y-Y/N L/N” you struggled to get out. “I’m sorry did you say reality rip?”
“Yes. A rip was seen in the sky yesterday” the middle aged hero spoke “Then we saw you fall from it. It’s a good thing that Todoroki saw you and acted fast. Otherwise..”
“I’d be dead” you finished. “Well it’s an Honor to finally meet you Aizawa Sensei”
“What do you mean ‘Finally’?”
———
“Class this is L/N Y/N. She will be staying with us for while as her quirk manifests.” Aizawa introduced. You stood at his side as you looked around the common area.
“Sensei, is this the girl that fell out of the sky” Yaoyorozu asked, raising her hand slightly.
The class looked at Todoroki as the man nodded his head.
“Dude. You saved her life” Denki exclaimed.
“That’s so manly” Kirishima whispered.
“Oi stop fangirling over icy hot” Bakugo yelled at his best friend.
“Silence” the teacher yelled while activating his quirk. “I think L/N has something to say”
It was your turn to be stared at by the famous class 1-A. You nervously smiled at the hero. “Well um... first, you can call me Y/N. Second, Thank you Todoroki-kun for saving me.”
The boy nodded in your direction as if telling you “you’re welcome”.
“Also” you started again. “I think I should tell you why I was falling out of the sky to begin with. I’m sure some of you were wondering.”
The class all mumbled in response. You looked at Aizawa Sensei, who only nodded his head for you to continue.
“I came from a reality rip. Meaning, I’m not from this time”
“So you’re a time traveler” Denki asked.
“No Kaminari. Not quiet. Where I’m from, there’s no quirks. They’re fictional” You stated. “Just like you all”
The class was both shocked and confused. They were flabbergasted. What did you mean they were fictional?
“Hey dumbass what do you mean that we’re fictional?” Bakugo screamed.
“Well dumbass” you mocked the blonde. “I mean that you are all characters in a manga I read. Well a manga I read before being teleported into it.”
“Wow. That’s so cool. And kind of disturbing” Midoriya stuttered.
“Since we’re ‘characters’ in your world” Shoji spoke “does that mean you know our backgrounds, favorite food, and all of that stuff?”
Your face flushed at the question. If you told them yes then you’d look like a stalker.
“Well um... kinda?” You winced. You groaned and squeezed your cheeks together out of habit. Your anxiety was reaching its peak and you felt like you were going to burst into tears at any moment.
“The book goes into detail about a lot of things I’m sure you guys don’t want anyone to know” you glanced at Midoriya and Bakugo. Both had a shocked expression on their face.
They know you knew about OFA.
“Fuck” you mumbled “ I’m sorry that makes me sound like a weirdo. I have no ill intentions to use the information I know against you guys in a negative way. I only know ABOUT you. I don’t necessarily KNOW you.”
The students faces were unreadable. Besides Midoriya who was shaking like a salt shaker in his spot on the couch.
“Well since your quirk is bound to manifest at some point.” Todoroki spoke for the first time today. “I can help you adjust to the new environment”
“Yea me too” Uraraka joined in with a smile.
“As will I” Iida chopped through the air.
One by one, the class vowed to help you adjust to your new life and you couldn’t be more happier. You looked up at Aizawa with teary eyes.
He put his hand on your head and said “you’ll fit in kid”
——————————————
After sleeping in a bed that wasn’t decades old, you woke up to the sound of knocking on your room door. You straighten the pajamas yaoyomomo lent you and your hair before opening the door.
“Goodmorning Aizawa Sensei. Is something wrong?” You asked sleepily.
“No. Here are your uniforms, bath necessities, and some extra clothes. Class begins in 30” He responded. He handed you your items and rolled away in his sleeping bag.
“Never gonna get tired of seeing that” you laughed to yourself. You made your way to the women’s shower to prepare your self for the day. The center of your forehead throbbed but you chose to ignore it.
“Goodmorning y/n-Chan” Mina squealed “you look so cute in your pajamas”
“Thank you Mina” you smiled.
You did your morning routine witch consisted of showering, brushing your teeth, and talking to the girls.
You smoothed the skirt to your uniform as you walked behind the group of girls...struggled with tying your tie. You’ve never worn one before so of course you didn’t know how to tie it! In the midst of throwing a tantrum, you bump into something hard. Before you could fall backwards, you felt arms wrap around your back stopping you from hitting the ground.
“I’m so sorry. I was trying to tie this damn tie. Are you alright?” You rambled. You look up at the stranger and was met with a dual colored stare.
“I can help you with that if you’d like” he suggested.
“Yes please” you sighed.
You watched as his large fingers worked at the tie. He held a focused expression as he finished tying the piece of fabric.
“Too tight?”
“No. Thank you Todoroki.” You smiled as the two of walked into home room together.
You spot your assigned desk, which was covered in cards and balloons, and made your way to it. You sat in between Midoriya and Mineta, who was unsurprisingly checking you out. You turned to face him with a faux smile. “You know it’s really ugly being a pervert. Everyone in my reality hates you”
The grape boy’s face fell. His eyes followed the buttons on your jacket and fell on your breast. You flicked the perverted boy’s forehead out of disgust. You faced foreword in your desk and listened to whatever Aizawa had to say.
“Today you’ll be sparring against eachother. Quirks are allowed. Y/N will be monitoring you and adding necessary comments” The hero instructed. “Go get changed and meet in gym gamma. You too Y/N”
——————
You stood in the middle of the gym with a clipboard in your hands. It was the latch match of class and it was the most anticipated one of the day.
Todoroki V. Bakugo.
“DIE HALF AND HALF” The blonde screamed.
You watched in horror as Todoroki’s right side slowly covered in frost.
“DAMN ICYHOT. USE YOUR LEFT SIDE DAMNIT”
“Bakugo” the poor boy huffed a puff of cold air from his lungs.
“I’m gonna call it” you told the middle aged man beside you.
“No. Let them fight”
“But his right side-”
“Just watch”
Todoroki trapped Bakugo in another sheet of ice, which the blonde blasted out of. Without hesitation, the young Todoroki set his left fist aflame and punched the angry teenager.
“Oh damn” you gasped.
“Todoroki wins. Now Y/n” Aizawa called looking down on you. “Spar with Todoroki”
Your eyes almost fell out of their sockets. He wants you to do what? You don’t even have a quirk! The teacher pried the clipboard out of your hand and nudged you towards the mat.
“No quirks obviously”
“nO qUiRkS oBvIouSlY” you mimicked as you walk towards the center of the mat. Todoroki looked at you with a shit eating smirk, which faded into a focused stare.
“Ready?” Aizawa yelled. “Start”
The boy charged at you with his fist cocked back. You dodged left and jabbed him in the chest. Todoroki stumbled back at the hit with his eyes widened. “You’re strong”
“Now you don’t have to go easy on me” you smirked.
The two of you exchanged a number of hits before the match was over. The match ended with Todoroki sending a kick to your side, which caused you to fall to the mat.
“Todoroki wins”
“Fucking shit” you huffed. Todoroki offered you a hand, which you graciously took.
“You’re a better sparring partner than Bakugo” the dual hair colored boy spoke.
“I heard that you bastard” the blonde yelled behind you. “You. I want to spar with you after school”
“Yes sir Mr. Boom boom man” you salute. He growled at the nickname and stormed off. You turned on your heel with your arms crossed and walked to the locker rooms.
—————-——————»
You sat in the common area while everybody else were either in their room or out training. Everyone except Todoroki, who was currently sitting in front of you with a bowl of cold soba, starring right at you.
“Can I help you Todo?” You asked looking up from the book you were reading.
“I find you fascinating. You fell from the sky and you’re adjusting well” He stated. Slurping on his noodles.
“This is a better life than my old one. So I’m satisfied” you shrugged.
Todoroki scrunched his eyebrows together. Confusion visible on his face. “What do you mean a better life?”
You sighed as you closed the hard covered book. “Well, my life before any of this happened was complete–excuse my language– shit”
The boy nodded his head as you spoke.
“My father left right after I was born. He’s the lucky one in this story” you joked. A small smile formed on Todoroki’s face. “He left because when I was born my mom got abusive. She drank and drank and took out all of her anger on us. Cigarette burns here and there. Beer bottles thrown, wine bottles on a good day. My whole life story is bull”
“Wow. And I thought my dad was a dick” He laughed. You chuckled at his joke. “I’m sure you already know...”
“Like I said before, I know about your story. You’ve never told me”. You made your way to his side of sofa as he placed the empty bowl on the table in front of you.
“Well it’s really no different from what you’ve probably read. The way he used to breed my mother like she was some show dog.” His face scrunched in disgust. “The way he drove her crazy. It’s really a shitshow. I barely see either of my siblings anymore due to the fact that the thought of them resenting me plagues my mind.”
You looked into eachother eyes as he spoke. The trauma and anger that his bicolored eyes held as he spoke tempted you to hug him right then and there. You arms hesitantly wrapped around his neck.
You felt his tense shoulders relax in your hold as his arms wrap around your waist. He buried his face in between your neck and your shoulder.
“It’s always that one parent who has to be a bitch. That’s why son’s of bitches are a thing” you joked, trying to lighten the mood. Todoroki’s shoulders jumped as he laughed at your corny joke.
You pulled away from the boy and smiled. The two of you wished eachother a goodnight and went your separate ways. On your way to your room you see Midoriya and Bakugo outside of your door, waiting.
“Um
hi guys?” You smiled nervously.
“So you know?” Deku hesitated. His hands visibly shook with anxiety.
“I guess I do. I won’t tell anyone. I know you’ll get in a whole lot of shit if I do”
“Like hell you won’t” Bakugo growled “I’ll blow your ass into oblivion”
“That’s a big word for a asshat like you. I just said I’m not going to tell anyone” you growled back playfully crossing your arms with a smirk. You turned back to the baby broccoli with a smile “Your secret is safe with me. Have a goodnight. Both of you”
You walked into your room and fell backwards onto your bed. You moaned at how good it felt to finally lay down and go to sleep.
————————————————
Todoroki was woken out of his sleep by light knocks on his door. He rubbed the sleep away from his eyes as he opened the door to reveal a h/c haired girl with an unreadable expression.
“Y/n? It’s 4 in the morning. Why are you-“ his question was cut off by you grabbing his hand and dragging his half asleep body towards your room.
“Ask questions after I show you” you said. Expression still unreadable. Once you entered your room and made sure the door was locked, you pushed the heterochromatic eyed boy down on your bed.
He looked at you with worry. We’re you hurt? Should he take you to see Aizawa? Or recovery girl? His thoughts went blank as he watched you closed your eyes as a third one opened in the middle of your forehead. He watched in awe as you created a void of darkness in the space between your two hands. Everything in your room began to float as the void got bigger. Even the bed Todoroki was sitting on. His eyes widened as you then ball your fists which caused everything to remain still while they were still afloat. You dropped everything back to their original placements by clapping your hands together with a toothy smile plastered on your face.
“Look Todoroki. I manifested a quirk.” You squealed happily. The boy smiled at how excited you were about your quirk. He’s only known you 2 days but he couldn’t stop thinking about the girl that fell out of the sky and her smile.
“That was really cool y/n” he clapped. You jumped into his arms causing the both of you to fall backwards on the bed. The position you two landed in had both of your faces beet red.
“Uh...sorry. I got a little too excited” you laughed nervously. You stood again brushing off you pajama bottoms with a smile.
“It’s fine. I’d be excited too if I’d just manifest my quirk” he chuckled. “What’s your hero name going to be?”
“I have no idea” you yawned. “We should probably go back to sleep”
“Goodnight Y/n”
“Goodnight Todoroki” You watched as he closed your door silently not wanting to wake up your classmates.
The teenage boy smiled hard on the other side of the door. His thoughts swarmed with vivid pictures of you as he walked back to his room. Maybe Midoriya was right. Maybe he did have a crush on the girl that fell from the sky.
————————
You skipped into the common area mentally preparing yourself for your “presentation”. It was Saturday evening meaning that almost everybody would be there.
“Hey y/n-chan. You look happier than usual” Denki chirped, causing everyone to look in your direction. They watched as you walked into the middle of the room with a toothy smile.
“I am. I want to show you guys something” Everybody watched as you closed your eyes. They didn’t expect a third one to open in the middle of your forehead. They all gasped as everything around them covered in black goo and began to float. Everybody except Todoroki. He was just as happy as you were.
Once you disabled your quirk everyone screamed in joy.
“WHEN DID IT MANIFEST!?” Mina asked
“WHAT DO YOU CALL IT?” Izuku chimed in.
“Guys give her some space” Todoroki sighed pushing through the crowd. “You’re going to be an awesome hero y/n”
———————————————————
You held the bouquet of red and white roses tightly as Aizawa walked you down the aisle. All of your friends were fawning over how beautiful you looked. Even Bakugo was speechless.
When you reached the alter, you hugged Aizawa and whispered a faint “Thank you”. When you pulled away the man wiped a stray tear that had fallen on your cheek.
“Does Y/n have her family’s blessing to marry Shoto?” The officiant spoke.
“Yes. Yes she does” Aizawa smiled. He took his seat in the front row as the ceremony continued.
You wiped at the stray tears that fell from your eyes and smiled at your soon to be husband.
“The couple will now recite their written vows”
Shoto looked you deeply in your eyes and spoke. “Y/n ever since you fell from the sky 5 years ago you’ve always found your way into my thoughts. From the smile you sent me on your first day to the tears you shed when Aizawa adopted you I’ve always been star struck by your beauty. You fought by my side during all my battles. Mentally and physically. I’m no good at words but I mean it when I say I love you”
You didn’t even bother to wipe the tears that were flowing. You just smiled at the man before you. You tried to compose when it was your turn to recite your vows.
“Shoto” you said softly “it’s no secret that I’m not from here. But you and all of our friends made me feel at home. I cherish every last memory we have made. From our late night talks in each other’s rooms to teaching me how to make your cold soba. I can’t wait to make more.”
The both of you were teary eyed as you both slipped each other’s rings on your fingers.
“ I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may now-“
Todoroki’s lips were on yours before the officiant had the chance to finish. Everybody cheered and threw flower petals your way.
“Y/n Todoroki” Shoto smiled at you.
“I love the sound of that”

Long Night in the Valley Chaper 3
“A mind affecting quirk?” asked the secretary.  “Are you sure?”
“Positive,” said Recovery Girl, grimly.  “If I had realized, I would never have left him alone while I reviewed the scans.  I thought it was something physical.  By the time we locked the campus down, he was already gone.”
The secretary found herself shaking, slightly.  Even retired, even barely able to use his quirk, the idea of All Might under mind control, under a villain’s control, was terrifying.
“I’m going to put you through to the chairman,” she said, trying to keep the tremor out of her voice.  “I’m sure he’ll mobilize every available resource.”  She pressed the button and sagged in her chair glad she didn’t have to make real decisions.
Then the calls from the people in charge of the Musutafu mental-invasion training activity started rolling in.  As she answered the phone, she couldn’t help but think that All Might probably would have benefited from the training.
.
Of all the things Tsuyu had expected to see while waiting to be directed to her room for testing, Midoriya fleeing from a group of heroes was not one of them.
True, Midoriya had yet to come out of a class trip or event without some kind of trauma, but she’d been expecting villains to be the cause.  Not
 whatever this was.
Kaminari and Aoyama, started forward, only to be held back by Shouji, who just barely managed to catch his phone (he’d been playing a PokĂ©mon game with Kouda).
“Hey!” said Kaminari.  “What gives, man?  Midoriya is in trouble.”
“Yes,” said Shouji, quietly, the lips on his extra arm barely moving, “and look at who he’s in trouble with.”
“We can’t just go barreling in,” agreed Tsuyu.  “We need to find the rest of the class and get out of here.”
After all, if one member of 1-A was in trouble, they all were.
Aoyama placed his pointer finger and his thumb over his chin. “I have a better idea,” he said, “what do you say to a ~*sparkling*~ distraction to help our friend—and us—escape?”
Tsuyu followed his gaze and swallowed a sigh.
People should really stop leaving electrical boxes out in the open like that.  It was basically a signed invitation.
(Izuku did not notice the power outage that occurred a mere fraction of a second after he burst out of the center’s doors, but if he did, he would have been grateful for the chaos it caused and the precious time it bought him.)
.
“That’s the room they were in,” said Fumikage, Dark Shadow screening him and the rest of his group from view.  “I believe that Hagakure was—” he hesitated “—there,” he said, finally.
“Are you sure we should go after them?” asked Mineta.  “I mean, it’s Aizawa-sensei and the top of the class!”
“Since Midoriya is the only one who came out,” Yaoyorozu, coolly, “it’s probable that they’re either asleep or heavily outnumbered. Especially considering how out of character it is for Midoriya to leave them behind.”
“Unless he was targeted and was trying to draw them away,” said Satou.
They considered that silently for a moment.
“Bakugou’s group was in that room,” said Jirou, pointing with ear jack.  “They’ll definitely be asleep by now.  Not to back away from a fight, but if we really think our class is in danger, we should get them out first, of only because they’re probably not at the center of this.”
“Hmm,” said Tokoyami.  “The fate of Bakugou, much like Midoriya, is often shouded in darkness.”
“I hate that you have a point,” groaned Jirou.  “Yaomomo?  You’re kind of in charge here.  I think it’s your call.”
Yaoyorozu made a rather pained looking face.
“We need to find everyone who hasn’t gone into a room yet, and we need to gather information,” she said.  “Maybe this is just a misunderstanding.”
Fumikage, for one, rather doubted it.
.
This Deku was different again.  Older than the ones they had seen so far.
He was wearing the same clothes he’d had on when Shigaraki grabbed him at the mall, including that ridiculous ‘t-shirt’ t-shirt and the bright yellow backpack.  Ochako swallowed uneasily and looked back at Suzuki.
Did Deku’s appearance reflect his understanding of the situation?  Did he think that what was going on now was like what had happened then?
Was he right?
(A part of her, a part that was very used to Aizawa’s logical ruses, was still hoping this was part of the course.)
“We already have proof you’re the traitor,” wheezed Suzuki. Despite sustaining so many wounds, beyond being out of breath he was currently unharmed.  Even his suit only had a few streaks of dirt on them.
“Deku’s not a traitor!” shouted Ochako.  “He’s risked his life for so many of us, he’s hurt himself so much-!  It’s ridiculous you could even think that.”
Alright.  Perhaps the fight and general situation had Ochako more on edge than she’d thought.
Or, perhaps, she was just tired of this jerk badmouthing one of her best friends.
“I think,” said Aizawa, splitting his attention between Suzuki and the new Deku, “that anyone who actually knew Midoriya would tell you the same thing.  Assuming you asked.”
“What are you really here for?” asked Deku.  “Are you really working for the Commission?”
Suzuki wrinkled his nose momentarily, apparently affronted, but then started to laugh.  “You think we didn’t?  They came to us.  Aldera Middle School ring any bells?  Why don’t you tell your new friends you used to be—”
He cut off as Deku moved past them, smoothly dodging Aizawa-sensei, and performing a textbook-perfect takedown of Suzuki, complete with handcuffs and avoidance of Suzuki’s skin.
(What was Suzuki’s quirk, anyway?)
“Wish I could have done this back then,” muttered Deku, hauling Suzuki around.  “What is your problem?”
“You can’t hurt me here,” said Suzuki.  “Are you scared of the truth?”
Aizawa pulled Deku away from Suzuki.
“Midoriya,” he said.  “You are Midoriya, right?”
“I
”  Deku’s face scrunched up.  “I think so?  It—I think it’s more complicated than it should be.”
Ochako saw Suzuki get up before Aizawa did, and leaped forward, aiming for his face.  She missed. Suzuki’s fingers brushed against Deku’s cheek and the world shredded around them.
.
Aizawa had known going into this that a dream world would be, almost by definition, illogical and annoying.  He had simply underestimated how illogical and annoying.
Oh, the fight with maybe-Midoriya was straightforward enough, even factoring in his control of the environment.  But the aftermath was another story.
Aizawa knew he’d been hit.  He’d been hit, solidly, several times.  Yet, he didn’t feel so much as bruised.  He was also, for some unidentifiable reason, wearing a suit, and his students, except for Midoriya, who had disappeared yet again, had been put in unfamiliar school uniforms.
Speaking of which, they were now standing in front of a middle school, the beach nowhere in sight.
Adding that to the fact that at least some items (e.g., Midoriya’s handcuffs) seemed to disappear when no one was paying attention to them

Aizawa’s headache was rapidly growing.  Not to mention—
“He practically admitted he wasn’t Midoriya!  What more do you want?” demanded Suzuki, who seemed to be ignoring the fact that he was being stared down by three hostile, combat-trained teenagers.
“I want,” said Aizawa, “to wait out the clock.  Midoriya isn’t attacking us anymore, and I don’t particularly feel the need to snoop around in his head.”
Suzuki’s eye twitched.  “Saito isn’t waking us up until the end of the course, a full six hours from now,” he said.  “You want to have this stand-off for six hours, or do you want to find something that will help you protect the rest of your little gremlin students?”
“What do you mean, until the end of the course?” demanded Iida, adjusting his glasses.  “She’s supposed to let us out in an hour!”
Aizawa sighed, but kept his gaze fixed on Suzuki.  Iida could be a little too fixated on rules sometimes.
“So?  No one will miss you until the lunch break, and that can be easily covered up!”
.
“We should call the school, too,” decided Momo.  “I think Principal Nezu likes Midoriya.”
“Huh?  Really?” asked Satou, surprised.
Momo nodded.  “Whenever Midoriya is brought up at student council meetings, he sort of
chuckles. He does that with Aizawa-sensei, too, come to think of it.  And All Might.”
“That’s terrifying,” said Mineta.
No one said anything, because they didn’t really want to agree with Mineta, even about something so mundane.
.
Sirens, from an ambulance called for Saito Yume, were just audible in the distance.
Somewhat farther away, the principal of UA realized that calling the Hero Commission about Yagi’s disappearance might have been a tactical error.
In the Hero Commission headquarters, the chairman determined that, no, this was not going to be covered up easily, and started making alternate plans.
.
“Then we’ll wait for the whole six hours,” said Aizawa.  “Consider it endurance training,” he told his students, “for stakeouts and whatever.”
“And whatever?” asked Todoroki.
“If you have to deal with this nonsense now,” said Aizawa, “as students, it’s only going to get worse when you’re pros.”
“Ah,” said Todoroki, nodding sagely.  “I see.”
“Look, if you’re all so sure he has nothing to hide, what’s the harm in looking?”
“Kids,” said Aizawa, cutting off whatever responses the three of them were about to snap out, “don’t engage him.”  This was going to be a very long six hours.  Or five hours.  It had to have been at least one hour since they went under. Right?  It had to be, if the universe was fair.
Oh, who was he kidding?
Suzuki sighed, closed his eyes, and straightened his tie. “I apologize,” he said.  “The appearance of that
projection unsettled me, and I have not fully explained why the Hero Commission has decided to act as it has in the case of Midoriya Izuku.”
“Who cares?” asked Todoroki.  “The commission sucks.”
Undeterred, Suzuki continued.  “I’m sure you have all noticed that Midoriya Izuku displays two quirks.”
“So do I and Aizawa-sensei,” said Todoroki.
“I what?” asked Aizawa.
“Your floaty hair thing.”
“That’s just an emitter effect,” said Aizawa.
“But it works on your capture weapon,” said Todoroki.  “Midoriya showed me a diagram, once.  It was very convincing.  He said not to bring it up though, because you were probably hiding it from
 villains
 oh
”  He trailed off as he looked back at Suzuki.
This was not, Aizawa reminded himself sternly, the time to have an existential crisis.
He was having a talk with Midoriya when he got out of this.
“A secondary quirk that he only discovered in high school? You must see how far fetched this is. Not to mention his first quirk only—”
The ground rumbled.  Abruptly, they were surrounded by bright, approximately human-shaped blurs of color.  Because why not?
Among those blurs of color ran tiny middle school Midoriya, because, again, why not?
Using the distraction, and something that had to be related to either a quirk or Suzuki’s greater experience with Saito’s quirk, Suzuki escaped their little circle and ran after Midoriya.  Aizawa’s students and, thus, Aizawa followed.
.
“Come again?” asked Vlad King, rubbing the inside of his ear. “I think I must have misheard you.”
“Yagi stole your car,” repeated Powerloader, sounding completely done with the world.
Vlad, still uncomprehending, blinked up at his coworker. “Is there, like, a student called Yagi?” he asked, trying to process the diametrically opposed concepts of ‘Yagi’ and ‘stole’ before even getting started on the ‘your car’ part of the sentence.
“No.”
With despair, his mind finally registering that the Symbol of Peace had stolen his car, Vlad said, “But he doesn’t even drive!”
.
Vlad King’s car was, objectively, rather terrible.  It was an antique, almost a hundred and fifty years old, manufactured when regulations were loose in the wake of the dawn of quirks. It was loud.  It was ugly.  The gas efficiency wasn’t terrible, but it came at the cost of high emissions.  The air conditioner was broken.  It had no back up camera.
It had three things going for it.  One, it had a functional safety system.  Two, the ceiling was high enough for Toshinori to fit. Three, it had no GPS or tracking system attached to it.
True, the vehicle’s other features meant that the car would be remembered and tracked sooner or later, but the point of this exercise was to get to Izuku as quickly as possible and then away from his pursuers as quickly as possible.  They’d leave the car somewhere after that.  Perhaps with the keys still in it.  Perhaps somewhere disreputable.

That would be rather mean to Vlad.
Eh, thought someone who may or may not have been Toshinori. They were doing him a favor, honestly.
(It was a good thing Six knew how to drive.  Seven and Five with their fancy mobility-oriented quirks were useless.  Don’t even get him started on Mr. ‘I’m going to live in the woods and isolate myself from society’ and Ms. ‘driving laws can’t have changed that much in a hundred and fifty years.’  Unbelievable.)
Toshinori stopped the car.  The back door opened and Izuku slid in.  He shut the door and Toshinori started driving again.
They didn’t speak to one another because they didn’t have to. Izuku started undressing, pulling on the clothes Toshinori had picked up for him quickly.  Hero merchandise, mostly.  Bright but anonymous.  Few would expect fugitives to wear something like this.
“It’s soft,” said Izuku, quietly, rubbing the edge of the hoody between his fingers.
“I’m glad you like it,” said Toshinori.  In the rearview mirror, Toshinori could see Blackwhip twine around his hands and wrists protectively.  His headache let up, slightly.
They’d hide until the quirk wore off, and then they could determine their next steps.
.
The commission president smiled at the heroes he had assembled.  It was a nice smile, an expressive smile, one he had worked on for a long time.  Right now, it said that he regretted the circumstances that brought them together, but that their presence cheered him, nonetheless. It said that he was putting on a brave front while delivering grim news.
It had the desired effect.  The heroes leaned forward, with the exception of Hawks.  (Damn that truculent child.  Perhaps he was due for some retraining.)
“I regret to inform you all that former number one hero All Might, also known as Yagi Toshinori, has been abducted by the traitor Midoriya Izuku through the use of a mental quirk we believe he obtained from the villain All for One, publicly known as the Scourge of Kamino.”
.
Toshinori and Izuku had spoken to one another concerning hiding places and rendezvous points on several occasions.  It was a necessity when engaged in a shadow war with a two-hundred-year-old monster and continued to be so even after the war had come into the light.
Toshinori currently owned most of them, through various serpentine paths, shell corporations, and semi-fictitious holding companies.  One could potentially, in theory, with great effort, reach Toshinori if one started with one of the hiding places and follow the horribly convoluted paper trail, but it was infinitely more difficult to start with Toshinori and arrive at one of the safe houses.  Mainly because Toshinori had so many completely legitimate holdings.
Some of these places were older than they were, inherited, much like their quirk.  And the very oldest of these technically wasn’t ‘owned’ by anyone at all.  It didn’t exist on paper.  It had been made by an unregistered quirk during the dawn of quirks, when the government was in shambles.  Only two living people knew about it now.  Even All for One had never found the place.
“We’ll be safe here,” said Toshinori, unnecessarily, as he opened the door.  The hinges were silent.  Toshinori had oiled them the last time he had restocked the pantry.
Izuku nodded, then yawned.  Everything about today had been exhausting, and his brain still wasn’t working right.
But was it really okay for him to sleep, to rest, when he had left his friends behind?
Why had he even done that?
Could he even call himself a friend when-?
Toshinori put his hand on Izuku’s shoulder, and Izuku felt his concern soak into his bones.  The others were with him.  Uraraka, Todoroki, Iida, and Aizawa were not in danger, they reminded him.  Izuku (Nine) was.  The others were in good standing with the commission, more or less, and would likely remain so.  For all Suzuki’s posturing, it appeared he had no real evidence against Izuku’s friends, otherwise he would have used it for blackmail by now.
Besides, Izuku wasn’t really the one to make the decision to run.
Izuku frowned.  Was he?  Wasn’t he?
There was a bed in the little hidden house.  Toshinori pulled a set of sheets out of a small cabinet and began to make it.  Izuku retrieved and fluffed the pillows.  It was interesting.  He’d never actually been here before.  Toshinori had only told him how to get here, and yet

But the others had been here.  One and Two, mostly, but Three had come a few times, and Four had gotten a lot of use out of it before he left the city entirely.  Five hadn’t really needed it—he’d been a pro hero, after all—but he’d kept the place up, just in case, and passed it on to Six when it was time. Six had been underground and had kept this place his ace in the hole, his last fallback.  Seven had learned of it from his notes since he hadn’t lived long enough to tell her properly.  So much had been lost

Izuku shook his head and focused on the bed.  Wordlessly, he was coaxed into it.  It would be better to sleep, for now.  His attention wouldn’t be divided, and Toshinori would keep him safe.
.
“Trace,” said the commission president, looking at the second-youngest hero present.  The woman was just a little bit older than Hawks.  “With your quirk, I think you know why we called you in.”
The woman, who usually worked as a rescue hero, nodded enthusiastically.  “Yes, sir,” she said.  “I’ll need something of either Midoriya’s or All Might’s, and their last known location. We’ll be able to rescue All Might in no time!”

Note
Ik it's not Aizawa's bday yet and this is a little early, but imagine Aizawa's s/o or crush (whichever is cuter to you) getting Aizawa a bunch of cat-themed things for his bday? Like a blanket with cat patterns on it, stuffed animals, a cat pillow, cat-themed house decor, cat-themed food, etc...
Hello! Here you go, I hope it’s what you want! Today’s fic is an early gift to everyone’s favorite teacher! I did go with crush and the end is like a little suggestive but not really. Reader is neutral, I was writing this while watching the election so if they’re are mistakes blame it on the polls. If everything goes right another birthday themed fic on the 8th
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Reader and Mic plan a very special day for Aizawas birthday.
Aizawa Shouta x Reader
Words: 1616
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You were preparing for Aizawa's birthday for months now. You were planning on finally confessing to him after years of pinning. You and Mic had prepared the perfect gifts and events to make him finally fall for you. You were beginning step one right now, you walked down the halls of UA with the bento you prepared. All of the things inside were cut into cute cat shapes, the rice ball was shaped into a cat. It was just cat, cat, and of course more cats. You even bought a cute little cupcake that was decorated like a cat. The final touch though were your cat ears, Mic made you wear them, but you couldn't lie they were a nice touch. As you pushed back the classroom door you put on your biggest smile.
“Happy Birthday Aizawa, nyah!!” You yelled with a giggle. Your voice brought Aizawa out of his dazed state. He flushed looking at you and then at Mic, then letting out a sigh.
“How many times do I have to tell you to call me Shouta and Thank you.” He said coming to take the food from you.
“But you won't call me y/n.” You said back as he mumbled out a ‘it's not the same’. You all took your seats as he unwrapped your bento. You bounced your legs as he opened to see your homemade kitty themed food. He let out a light chuckle before he started to eat.
“So, birthday planner what's on the itinerary today?” Mic asked, messing around with your cat ears.
“After you nerds get done here, cat cafe for sure, then off to work for you mister, and finally I’ll walk shouta home and feed the alley cats along the way.” You said taking out your pocket sized planner and reading from it.
“We don't need to do all of it.”
“Oh don't play tough now, sho! You know you like their cooking and them doting on you.” Mic said with his loud laughter. You froze as Aizawa only looked away.
“Don't be jealous cause you don't get the same treatment. Anyway my break is over, L/n, your food is the best as always. I'll see you both later.” He said stoically as he gave you back your bento container, empty.
“He's the same as always! The cat ears didn't work!” You said with a slight whine.
“Did you not see his blush! He is totally head over heals right now! Just keep on with the plan, also why didn't you make me a cute bento on my birthday.” Your blonde friend chuckled at you. You only gave him a playful shove.
“Next time instead of asking for a 200.00 dollar gift ask me to cook for you. I’m heading out to set up the cat cafe, make sure you get him there.” You said hitting him over the head before leaving. You arrived at the cat cafe promptly and now you were about done setting up.
“You are so sweet doing this for your boyfriend.” The worker said with a smile.
“Uh, um he's just a friend.” You said with your head down.
“Well sorry about that. But if i could capitalize on it, my brother is probably about your age! You two would look great together! He is so sweet and tentative, the only reason he is not with someone is because some people think he is too nice when he is in a relationship. Let me give you his number.” The worker rushed out as she grasped your hand. You were too busy trying to follow her words that you didn't notice your friends come in.
“They don't do the whole dating thing, miss.” You heard shouta say from behind you.
“Oh Aizawa! Happy birthday, nyah!” You said as you pulled the confetti cannon that rained cat themed confetti.
“I hate you both but thank you.” He said chuckling as he leaned over to pet the cat that came over to him. For some reason they always seemed to gravitate towards the stoic man. You all spent time with the cats, having quiet chatter here and there. Until the workers brought out the cat themed food.
“You two are so extra, I appreciate this if the smile on my face doesn't show it.” He said as he snuck the resident fat cat some food.
“Thats your smile? Sho?” You were overcome with laughter and had to pause. “I think you might need to work on it.” You finished still laughing. Your eyes were squinted as you laughed so you didn't see Aizawa’s shocked expression or reding cheeks.
“Oh my goodness! After eons and eons of being friends, you've finally called him by his name, a nickname at that.” Hizashi said, taking a picture of the two of you. Finally noticing your slip up you buried your face in your hands.
“Its fine, L/N, i've been trying to get you to do it for a while now anyhow.” He said with a big smile, for him anyway.
“We better get to the gift giving. I’ve got to go slave away in a few minutes.”
“Oh right! Give me the bag Mic-ey boy!” You said to him. He handed you the bag with a smile.
“To our dearest Aizawa, on his most special day! We gift him all of his favorite things plus a day of Hizashi being less obnoxious as requested. Happy Birthday aizawa, Nyah!” You said dramatically, handing him the bag. He mumbled a thank you opening it, with a small rush only you could notice. He pulled out a black cat themed blanket, black slippers, a gray cat mug, a cactus in a cat themed pot, a few bags of catnip, and cat themed sleeping bag with a small matching pillow.
“You guys know me too well, thank you both.” He said with a smile.
“There's also one more thing back at your house, but i'm glad you liked it all.” You said as you beamed at him.
“What's back at the house is of course my idea and present to you! I've gotta go but Sho, i hope you enjoy the rest of your birthday. Don't have too much fun without me of course!” He said as he got up and paid the bill. You and Aizawa were left alone.
“Let’s go feed the kitties on our way to your place.” You said as you got up.
“We don't have to if you don't want to, y’know?” He said as you guys left the building.
“All the years we've done this, do I ever look like I DON'T want to?” You said as you opened the canned food, feeding the cats as they came. Aizawa spooned it on plates, placing the plates in a line that lead to his house.
“Well thank you, I don't think it would be the same without you.” He said as you neared his house.
“You’ll always have me, aizawa.” You smiled at him as you both finally made it into his house. He immediately plopped down on his couch, his cat next to him.
“Well...i've got to do something real quick, you should open Hizashi’s gift! It's over there.” You said as you rushed away. Aizawa chuckled to himself as his cat ran after you. He leaned over to see a card with Hizashi’s writing on it and moved to open it. It was a few pieces of paper and a card which he decided to read first.
‘To my main man Sho,
You're not getting any younger and neither are they. I told Nezu your incredibly sick, which I think he knows I'm lying about it. Anyways, you need to lock them down now and i'm giving you a chance. Along with this card there is some cash, 2 tickets to that movie they wanted to see, and some tickets to the cat themed amusement park that's opening. Thank me later with a karaoke night! I've given you everything you need! Don't screw this up, dude.
Yamada Hizashi
Aizawa held his head back trying to stop the tears he felt bubbling up. He put the items back in the bag as he heard you coming. When you stepped into view aizawa almost forgot how to breathe. You were wearing a maid outfit with cat ears and tail, his cat in your arms in a similar get up, well you know for a cat.
“Mic, said you would like it at the very least it's funny but i hope you enjoyed your birthday, Aizawa, nyah.” You said softly not meeting his intense gaze, he walked toward you and took the cat from your hands placing her on the floor.
“y/n, I love you.” He said caressing your cheeks. You blink at him hearing what he is saying but not really taking it in.
“You don’t have to feel the same way but I love you too much to let another second slip away from us.” He said, his stare boring into your eyes. You didn’t say much but giggled at him.
“I think it’s pretty obvious I love you too Shouta. I’m wearing cat ears and a tail plus a maid outfit.” You said staring back at him with just as much passion.
“Well thank you for my birthday gifts. They were lovely. But since you dressed up for my birthday, I think I’m gonna undress you.” He said drawing closer to your face. Your lips inches away but before anything could happen he grabbed your wrist and pulled you toward his room.
“Wait Sho!! I want a date first an-” you stuttered as he continued to pull you chuckling.

Part 2 - Chapter 45 - Conflicted Feelings
Blank Canvas Part 2
AO3 - here
Fanfiction.net - here
And we're back with another update! Izuku meets up with Nezu and then has a talk with Kirishima. :)
Bit of an announcement before we get to the chapter. So I typically like to have a buffer of mostly finished chapters, but as of this update I've caught up to my WIP chapters. And the next one is going to be Katsuki. His pov is difficult for me to write for reasons which I think you could understand because his mindset is just so messed up. Even back in the sports festival I had to take breaks between working on his pov and other parts of the story.
Because of this, while I like posting once a week, this time around I'll post in two weeks to give me and my brain time to work through Katsuki's pov through his suspension and then rejoining 1-A. 'Cause there is a lot and I'd like to take the time to write it in a way that I'm satisfied with. So, no this work is not abandoned. I just want more time to work my extraness and make something for us all to enjoy. Plus Ultra, ne? ^____^ And hopefully I can write past Katsuki's pov to move on to more fun parts and build up my buffer chapters again. So, please have patience and thank you very much for reading! I appreciate every single one of you.
Linktree to all the things!
End notes for the chapter are under the line.
Class 1-A is all back together again! Of course, we had to have that awkwardness with bringing up Stain. Then there's Bakugou showing back up but we'll get his side of things once I've written his pov.
Nezu now has Izuku's notes on Stain and his motivations! What he does with them we'll have to wait and see. ;) Along with Izuku's new assignment though that one might be more on the obvious side. To me anyway.
Then there's Kirishima and his internal battle. Sh-sh-shout out to maidengarnet, WinterCrow, anom, and akaoisora for their thoughts on Kirishima’s friendship with Bakugou. It definitely is a complicated issue with Bakugou being a bully and Kirishima hating bullies. But to me Kirishima seems the kind of guy who would try to help him become a better person. For reasons as mentioned in the chapter. Also in canon, Kirishima has a certain understanding of Bakugou's character and keeps pushing past his aggressive personality even though he gets disappointed with him at times when he refuses to work with others. Now it's not going to be easy and I'll do my best not to force anything, but I personally like having Kirishima be friends with Bakugou and hopefully build up to KiriBaku eventually. But only if it makes sense. That build up is going to be tied with Bakugou's progress in his therapy. So we'll have to see how it goes. :)
Oh and yay for Izuku and Eijirou getting on a first name basis! A level up in the two sunshine boys' friendship. ^____^ Really hoping to have more interactions with them now that they're in the same class.
That's all I've got for you this chapter! Again, a reminder that there will be a two-week break between updates this time around. Because Katsuki, your povs are just soooooo difficult, frustrating, and mentally taxing. Hope you understand and again thanks for your patience and for reading! See ya!

Reasons why I hate All Might (includes manga spoilers)
he chose to teach at ua simply because he needed to hide the secret of his quirk. he likely has zero credentials to actually be a teacher and only used his position as #1 hero to get the job (and I mean it nezu he has to go through. that man doesn't give a shit about protecting the kids and staff from possible threats but that's another rant). not only did he use the school as a scapegoat, but he didn't warn anyone of the possible threats that would come with him being there. he didn't tell a single person about his quirk (nezu already knew) and it ended with many people put in danger that they could have tried being prepared for. instead, his decision put the entire staff and all the students in danger.
he gave a 15 year old a completely overpowered quirk that has MULTIPLE different quirks inside it that get even more powerful over time yet he doesn't know how to activate it or any of the quirks and he only trains the kid for like 10 months. I'm sorry but that training was nothing. all might knew his body wasnt anywhere near where it needed to be (that's partially because izuku didn't do any training until all might). all might seriously shouldn't have given him the quirk then, he should have either encouraged him to go into general studies and then spend the extra time up to the sport's festival training or not given him the quirk at all. the fact that he had to send izuku to HIS mentor for him to learn how to control it-
all might not telling aizawa about the quirk and instead leading the male to believe that this kid was just really irresponsible and not anywhere near close to hero material.
all might trying to install his hero mentality onto izuku which only inflates his self destructive for the greater good tendencies.
all might being a shitty teacher and blatantly showing favoritism to izuku. like this man is the number one hero, imagine idolizing him your entire childhood and then eventually get him as a teacher only for him to ignore your entire existence for one student.
when he praises izuku for moves that he stole but doesn't give the same praise to the students that created those moves.
him not telling anyone about afo until he becomes a threat.
him declaring himself the singular symbol of peace causing villains to fear him and primarily only him so when he retires, they deem the heroes as weak and put all their plans into motion.
him telling izuku that he couldn't be a hero cause he was quirkless yet all might was born quirkless.
him only trying to save bakugo from the sludge villain after izuku jumped in.
him almost faltering when he realizes that shiggy is nana's grandson yet he knew she died and instead of making sure her biological family was safe from the monster that killed her, he chose to instead keep a promise to a dead woman.
the sports festival.

I little thing I wrote on my thoughts on who I think the UA traitor is in My Hero Academia.
The war arch in My Hero Academia is feeling like it’s coming to a close, and we still seem no nearer to finding out who the UA traitor is. It’s still just something we’re
reminded about every now and again, with no real progress being made on who it is.
People have their theories. Denki, Nezu, and Monoma seem to be the most popular candidates. Monoma because he’s an asshole, Nezu because that would actually be interesting for the plot and make sense, and Denki because
he has electricity powers so he could have been the one jamming communications during the U.S.J. arc.
The whole traitor thing has kind of gotten to the point that there aren’t a whole lot of people it could be without if feeling like the name was selected out of a hat. There aren’t any clues, this side plot isn’t developed, we’re just reminded about it here and there and that’s it. No fingers are being pointed. None of the characters seem to be taking that active of a part to find out who the traitor is. There’s a traitor, we know that. They’ve spied on the students but other than that nothing has been done to figure out who the traitor is.
If it ends up being a major character, it’s hard to imagine the motive will seem natural. If it’s a side character, it’s going to feel like a letdown. The fact that two of the most popular are Denki and Monoma affirm that. Denki and Monoma, two characters where it hardly makes sense. That is how few clues have been offered to us, the readers, that two characters who would make lack luster traitors, are the most popularly theorized to be the traitor.
Out of these three, the only one I kind of like is Nezu. Denki’s is based on one piece of evidence. That’s not much to go on. It would be boring if Monoma was the traitor. Oh, this side character we barely see that hates class 1-a is the traitor. Oh no.
Nezu, on the other hand, has a cannon reason to be resentful of heroes and the current powers at be. Honestly, he has a villain’s back story. It makes sense, and he would be in a good position to help the baddies. The show has also shown that he excels at manipulation and that he, um, kind of enjoys messing with people. It actually makes sense he would be the traitor.
Though, I still don’t love it. One of the reasons is because it almost seems a little
too obvious. Also, the couple of inner monologues where Nezu is like, ‘I must find the traitor to protect my students’ seem kind of weird if he’s the traitor. If he was saying these things out loud that would be fine, but he’s not, he’s weird if he’s the traitor. Why would he have inner thoughts about finding the traitor if he was the traitor? It’s possible Horikoshi just wasn’t thinking about it, which would be a bit sloppy, but all authors do things like that.
So at the moment it looks like right now I’m leaning towards Nezu. He’s is the only character who has motive, and it would be interesting if it turned out to be him. His betrayal would affect and impact the characters in a real way. Denki has no motive and who the fuck would care if it was Monoma?
Or, is Nezu the only one?
Most people when they try to figure out who the traitor is, go at it with a sleuth’s attitude. Who has motive and ability? But I would like to offer up a different approach.
Instead of looking for clues in the story, I’m going to think of this as an author.
Traitors can be a fun thing to throw into a piece of media. They can also be really hard. Make the traitor a character people really liked and had grown attached to, and there’s a chance a lot of people will be angry. Seriously, imagine how many people will be pissed if the traitor ends up being Denki. But, if you make the traitor a side character, you run the risk of the betrayal feeling boring. Sure, that character is a traitor, but it doesn’t feel like a betrayal to the reader/viewer. The traitor has to have some importance to the main characters at the very least. Even if the reader doesn’t know them well, if the main characters do the betrayal will affect the narrative of the story.
The best betrayals affect the way we thought about the story as a whole. Much like good plot twist needs to be more than something happening that we couldn’t predict. It needs to recontextualize how we view the story and the characters. The reason why Ray’s betrayal in The Promised Neverland slaps so much is because it makes us totally revise how we view that character and all his actions. It was a surprise betrayal, yet his motives make sense with who he is once we’ve learned what his motives were. And his betrayal affects how the other main characters act from then on out. If the traitor had been like Anna or something it wouldn’t have been nearly as good.
That’s why Monoma would be boring even though he has
not motive exactly but what he has is more than most characters. If the main characters were from class 1-b his betrayal would be interesting, but will any of the main characters really be that emotionally impacted if it’s Monoma? The answer is no.
And to be honest, at this point it will be hard to have it be someone in the main cast without their actions seeming contradictory. Ray’s betrayal happened pretty early on in the show/manga. If the manga had waited till like, half-way to reveal he was a traitor, it would have been hard to justify some of the things he did over the course of the story. Oh, he was just biding his time. No, it would have just felt like it was time for the traitor to be revealed. That’s why, as much as I like Assassination Classroom, Kaede’s betrayal kind of falls flat. It feels like it comes out of nowhere. She had no build up. She was just being there until it was suddenly time for her to reveal she was the traitor because it was time for that plot to happen. Yes, it recontextualized her character and what she was doing, but it didn’t feel relevant. Ray’s betrayal blew my mind because the story built up to it, Kaede’s betrayal made me go, “oh, so that’s what this character is doing now.”
And that’s why Denki’s betrayal would be lack luster. Even if they gave him a motive, I just kind of feel like it wouldn’t be a natural build up to the revelation. It would feel like it was simply time to move that part of the plot forward.
So are they any side characters where their betrayal would affect the main characters significantly enough? Are there any side characters where they would be in a position that would allow them to have access to the kind of information that he gave the bad guys? Are there any side characters who could have motives that would make sense or at the very least motives that wouldn’t seem to contradict what they’ve done in the past. A traitor that no one would have ever expected because we just can’t see their motives yet? A character whose betrayal would impact they trajectory of the story and the main characters yet hadn’t been involving themselves too much in the story line so it wouldn’t feel like the character was just hanging out until the plot was ready to deal with the traitor?
I do believe there is one such characters.
And his name is Naomasa Tsukauchi.
That’s right, All Might’s detective friend.
Before you say it, yes, as of right now he doesn’t have motive. But be fair, neither does anyone else really. Like, maybe Nezu has motive, (I don’t really count Monoma’s grudge against class 1-a, the manga has made it very clear that’s all it is,) but that’s it. And a bit of a monologue explaining Tsukauchi’s motive would feel less weird than the same thing for anyone else. Other than the fact that he’s a good guy and a bit of stickler for the rules, we don’t know too much about him.
Tsukauchi’s betrayal would devastate All Might. Midoriya may be the main character, but All Might is kind of the central theme of the show. All Might’s best friend being the traitor, much like Stain’s appearance, could radically influence the course of the story. Stain was in a handful of chapters, yet we’re still feeling the effects of his presence. Tsukauchi’s betrayal could be same way.
And oops, now the traitor is one of the few people who know the truth about the quirk All for One. That would already make him a more interesting character than nearly anyone else. What is he going to do with that information? Is he going to use it as a weapon? Tell someone he shouldn’t about it? Oh my this is getting interesting.
Also, if he were to suddenly be in the story more, it wouldn’t feel weird. He’s a detective, and All Might’s best friend. If an arc centered around the traitor were to suddenly pop up it wouldn’t feel weird at all if Tsukauchi was there. If they were needing to do some sleuthing, it would be more than natural. We could get to know him better in the context of figuring out who the traitor was, and it wouldn’t be like, “Okay, why are these two things happening at the same time?”. If Snipe was suddenly more involved in the story when the traitor thing kicked into high gear it would be a bit of a signal he probably has something to do with the traitor. Why involve Snipe all of a sudden? I mean, I guess it could just be a coincidence, but it seems kind of random. Tsukauchi being involved in any traitor sleuthing wouldn’t feel unnatural, and in the course of the story it would feel natural that he would be involved more.
But wouldn’t Tsukauchi being a traitor kind of contradict his rule following lover of justice stchick? Yes, one would think. But he’s leaked sensitive information to All Might in the past in the name of “doing the right thing” so obviously he’s willing to bend the rules for himself. And he doesn’t approve of vigilantism
but he admits he appreciates the Crawlers efforts (the Vigilantes spin off, in case you didn’t know.) We know he’s willing to bend the rules in the name of doing the right thing. Well, what if once we got to know him better we fully understood what he thought the right thing was? After all, he’s a detective, maybe he’s uncovered some things, things that the government and the police chief are keeping silent. What if he found out about Shirigaki’s back story, (the fact that a whole building was turned to dust must be in public record somewhere) but he’s told to keep quiet about it. The police and government kind of dropped the ball on that one, to be honest. We already know, in the context of My Hero Academia, the government will jump through hoops and cover up scandals in the name of keeping up appearances with the public. All in the name of moral of course. What I’m saying here is that it wouldn’t be that hard to come up with a believable reason he decided to help Shirigaki, as long as the story gives him a good reason for thinking helping Shirigaki would be true justice.
This leads into how you could go in so many directions with Tsukauchi’s betrayal. Does he realize now he made a mistake but is keeping quiet because he’s ashamed? Does he still fully believe he’s doing the right thing and still supports Shirigaki? Is he falling somewhere in between, believing that the currently power structure needs to be destroyed but doesn’t quite believe in the destroy-the-whole-world ideology? That third one has a lot of potential to be interesting, especially if his motive is because he found out about Shirigaki’s back story and he was told to keep quiet about it. Tsukauchi believes in justice, but right now those in power don’t, they care more about appearances. There’s just so many interesting ways Tsukauchi’s betrayal could go that I just don’t see for any of the other characters.
And this is what I mean by I’m approaching my theory as an author, not as a sleuth. I’m not trying to pick up on clues. I’m not picking apart the story trying to untangle a web that (the author) has created. I’m thinking about who would make the most interesting traitor. Whose betrayal could result in the most interesting consequences? Whose betrayal could fit in with the themes already being discussed and considered? Whose betrayal could make for interesting drama? Whose betrayal could be handled in a way that was timed well with a revelation that would feel relevant instead of random?
Whose betrayal would make for good storytelling?
The answer, is Naomasa Tsukauchi.
Read it here too!

OK GONNA GRIPE!! Everyone in the world (like 5-6 people) said im allowed to and encouraged me but honestly most of my gripes are Bakugo as a character so I’ll try a little fix it... it will be under the cut.
BUT GRIPES-
The Sports Festival. I loved it... I thought it was great with some exceptions-
Bakugo v Uraraka is the most obvious example of Horikoshi bending characters to make Bakugo seem better than he is. Literally the whole festival no one says shit about the female contestants, its not a plot point, no ones bothered when Tokoyami vs Momo happens but Bakugo fights Uraraka and the whole ass stadium starts running their mouths about Bakugo being kind of an asshole and being mean to Uraraka cuz shes a soft girl even though shes holding her own and Momo panicked and lost in a sad way.
Bakugo attacked Shouto after knocking him out but he doesnt get disqualified. Even if Horikoshi wanted to set up the LoV targeting him he coulda just had them see the footage of Bakugo attacking Todo and his reaction to disqualification and figuring that hed be more willing to turn coat.
The relationships with Endeavor with Shoto and All Might is one of those things that seems like its going to be a set up for something... But never goes anywhere. All Might hadnt spoke to Endeavor for years before that moment when he asks Endeavor for advice on how to train kids because he was impressed with Shoutos performance but Endeavors like ‘I’ll turn him into someone who can surpass you thats why I MADE HIM‘ and All Mights like ‘wtf? wat‘ but it goes no where...
//end Sports festival kinda...
I have so many issues with how Horikoshi built Shouto as a character to be like on the same level as Deku and Bakugo but hes not apart of that group. Their connection as kids is All Might... Shouto should have learned about one for all and the three of them should grow together more.
IDKY Shouto has this past where All Might is his hero, hes one of the big three, but hes excluded.
Tumblr media
All im saying is Shouto (and honestly Bakugo) could have used a lot more screen time.
----
During the training camp arc Tokoyami loses control of his Quirk and almost kills a handful of his classmates and is also grabbed by the LoV with Bakugo... and it NEVER COMES UP AGAIN.
Of course the traitor plot line thats ignored for a million years only to be brought up again just to say it never actually mattered... is another one of those ‘This was a good set up for something and you did nothing with it...‘ situation. I still think Kouda is possible. Theres no reason the Principal is an animal... theres no reason why Kouda could be able to pass the entrance exam where Shinso couldnt they basically have the same Quirk. Kouda is quiet and unassuming and he can communicate very easily in secret and could theoretically control Nezu and make him say shit like ‘Theres no war in Ba Sing Se‘ and everyone would just accept it.... But like its been so long why even bother... itd be weird.
Honestly Shinsos whole... thing is also weird. But he was brought back for... like no real pay off. His tragic story doesnt even make sense... people mocking him for having a ‘villains’ Quirk... this is similar to the Bakugo/Uraraka thing. Because thats not a thing... we dont see that literally anywhere else. I mean Shouji mentions that people think his face is a little scary but thats it. There are pros with scary Quirks and even scarier looks, Tokoyami has a literal sentient DARKNESS living in him and a bird face.... but Shinso has problems? Really.
The same can be said about the CRC. Theres a whole hate group youve created to bring up to make Spinner a little more sympathetic but its never been mentioned before or since even though there are characters in the main crew with animal/creature characteristics. Again Tokoyami is right there.
Kirishima is a weird character to have made as prominent as he is because hes got literally no connection to the main story. Shouto shoulda had his screentime. I love Kirishima and his little story with Fatgum and fighting that big bitch was fucking bitchin... but like? Why Kirishima... also whats with Crimson Riot? What does he or Kirishima have to do with anything.
Shouto has the connections. It shoulda been Shouto.
How the fuck did Hawks get away with tricking the LoV with a fake body of Best Jeanist? Why not just have Hawks kill him... it makes more sense and it helps build a case for the corrupt hero society(or at least the higher ups) a little if theyre willing to kill one of their own. I like Best Jeanist but its fucking weird.
And Ive already bitched enough about the corruption of hero society and the lack of evidence story-wise...
I genuinely thought something would go down with Tensei because him being attacked made no sense even though Stain is shown to be very consistent in his belief to the point of endangering himself as shown when he literally went out of his way to save Deku. So why the fuck did he attack Tensei when everything weve seen of the guy is just a good, considerate, selfless hero.
He could have also been used to set up the corruption BUT NOTHING COMES OF IT.
And I mean like some of this stuff could come up later... but its been drawn out so long its weird... a lot of this shit would likely have a continuous direct effect on the story at large if Horikoshi just didnt... ignore it.
NOW BAKUGO. But because everyone knows I hate him Im gonna put my money where my mouth is and try to make him a little better... Cuz hes fucking garbage.
OK First up... Keep him exactly how he is until this moment exactly-
Tumblr media
This is the worst moment for me with Bakugo because I thought he looked like that because he was shocked at himself for doing something so fucked up.
Cuz he does want to be a hero and he looks up to All Might.
So after this moment he dials it back a little on the douchebaggery.... hes sorta more distant and still kind of a jerk but but hes more avoiding Deku/conflict until we get to the Sports Festival!
He cant help himself hes competitive and aggressive and the steeper the competition gets the more he falls back into being that hyper aggressive violent person he wants to not be.
The Sports Festival goes as expected and its not until after and he sees himself that he gets uncomfortable again and tries to mellow out again.
Then the practical exam happens and hes paired with Deku but instead of being needlessly antagonistic they actually DO work together... they can bicker and have different ideas of how to win but then get desperate by the end and actually work together cuz THIS-
Tumblr media
WAS SO SHITTY. It didnt need to happen. Also earlier when Bakugo is being an asshole in class Aizawa fully acknowledges Bakugo going down a dark path... and does like nothing about it... (You cant really blame him... Baku gets away with everything.)
ANYWAYS. So they reluctantly work together and work well together... Bakugo still feels kinda shitty and annoyed that Deku is at his level..
-
When Bakugo gets snatched by the LoV I think could REALLY be the biggest turning point...
Instead of Bakugo just continuing on like he does maybe this would be a great moment for him to realize that dark path hes been on. The Villains speak to him and theyre like ‘youd be a great villain‘ and its like that scene in Dr Who when Nine flips out and screams at the last Dalek tells it to go and die... and the Dalek goes ‘Youd make a good Dalek‘ which just gut punches him.
Its like that Bakugo thinks about the shits hes been doing after the villains think they can convince him to join them, he thinks about All Might and his life long dream to be a hero and hes disturbed that he COULD be a villain.
They take off the cuffs... he attacks them as per usual but its not with that cocky attitude.
///Bakugo gets saved
He thanks Kirishima... and thanks the others. It can be a cute moment GDI!
The fight between Bakugo and Deku could be Bakugo asking Deku to spar. Thats what he wants. He wants to test the both of them and Deku agrees so when Aizawa gets pissed at them both ITS DESERVED instead of Aizawa punishing Deku for defending himself.
And that can still be the moment Bakugo has his little breakdown and blaming himself for All Mights retirement.
And then just go from there... Bakugos character development coulda been smooth
