Trying something a little different and monochrome with this next pair! I am a big fan of the tall-and-small, calm-and-crazy vibes that my Punch (he/him) and @cyns-ramshackle's Rhea have together!

"Knock-knock! Trick or treat!" A tall figure, skin colored green with makeup, tapped at the door. Punch raised a hand to make sure that his bolts were still firmly attached to his neck and temples, and held out a bag. "Hope I'm not too late for a treat!"

"Wait, we can do different costumes this year?" Laz balked. "Well nobody told me! I got this thing all cleaned and everything! Ya know what? That's fine. Go on and have some candy, I, uh...need to think of a different costume idea to use all this with..."

"Hey, Mister Anbas?" A tall, broad-shouldered boy with curly hair and freckles approaches his dorm upperclassman, a ukulele held tight in his hands. "I'm one of the freshmen here, in Ignihyde? Punch Carder? We... well. We haven't been introduced, but. I, um. Just heard it was your birthday. I didn't have a gift prepared, really, for this? But I can play a song for you! What's your favorite?" He offers an awkward grin.

[UwU and you gave your name so freely- wow . It's a pleasure to meet you! And no worries about the gift. I appreciate the thought and the song tho~. I'm not sure if you've heard of my favorite song though-- it's a bit older and I've been told its a smidge morbid. OwO;;;;]

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY SAVVERS!!!"

Joker swung open the door of the Pomefiore lounge, cheering as she approached the birthday girl. She held a bag tied with a sparkling red ribbon in her hands, and had a wide grin on her face. Right behind her, her twin brother Punch followed, looking a little sheepish as he carried a white box tied with red and white twine as he echoed his sister's sentiments.

"Hope it's a wonderful day, Savvy. Happy Birthday," he said, putting the box down onto a table.

"I'm so excited, Savvy! You look soooo cute today, too. Pun and I made you some cannoli for later, hope you like it!!" Joker handed the bag to Savvy, giggling. "And here's something else a little special!!" Inside the bag, there was a soft pink beret and matching wrist warmers. "I knitted these for you; it's still gonna be cold for a while, so I hope you get some use out of these!"

"And we were thinking," Punch added, "maybe we can take you out after the party for some karaoke? You'd be back by curfew," he said, looking sideways at Vil. "No bad behavior. Promise!"

"We're gonna have a great time. Just like my bestie deserves!" Joker cheered, and gave her friend a tight hug.

"Joker! Punch!!" Savvy jumped up from her chair and hurried over to greet the Carder twins. She gave Joker a great big hug, and offered one to Punch, too. He seemed a little shy, though, so she didn't insist upon it.

"It's been a lovely day so far, I've been getting spoiled left and right! And now cannoli? This is the best day ever already." Savvy giggled. She accepted the bag from Joker and carefully opened it.

"Ohhhh, look at these!" Savvy slipped on the wrist warmers and marveled at Joker's handiwork. "They're so soft and pretty ... these are going to be great for winter! And the beret is so adorable, too - you did great!"

Savvy offered Joker another hug, then perked up when Punch mentioned karaoke. "Really?? Where are we going? You know, I've been meaning to check out this one place with the little rooms ..."

Savvy glanced over at Vil, her turn to be a little sheepish. "I ... of course, after the party is over and everything." She cleared her throat and smoothed down her jacket. "Thank you, Joker, Punch, this is all too much! Have some cake, won't you?"

"Hey Songbird!!" Joker rushes up, pushing unruly curls back from her face. "I can't believe I almost missed you today, girl! Punch and I were back home in the Queendom for spring break, but I had to make sure we were back in time to party with you."

"She was adamant," chuckled Punch, stepping up from behind. "We only just made it back."

"Annnnd, we come bearing gifts!" Joker holds out a sparkly pink bag, grinning. "It's a joint effort, this time out."

Inside the bag are a few items, each wrapped in tissue paper. There is a smoked-glass swan, filled with a deep pink perfume. It smells of blackberry, roses, and green tea. "A Queendom of Roses classic," mumbles Punch, blushing slightly.

There was also a small lacquered box in the bag, with a painting of a pair of ballet slippers decorating the top. Opening it caused a bright, bell-like tune to fill the air. After a few moments, it became clear what the song was. "Guilty Kiss!" Joker laughed. "I did the arrangement, and Punchy made the music box! The musical part, haha. We found the case separate, and put it all together."

"We hope your birthday's great, Dani."

"You deserve it, Songbird."

And Danica gets wrapped up in a twin double hug.

Danica feels the love and warmth from her two friends, embracing as her eyes remain on their beautiful gifts for her. Tears fill her eyes as she hugs them back.

"Ohhh, you guys!" she smiles through joyful tears. "Thank you, thank you so much! I'm so glad you were able to make it! I was hoping you would!"

She pulls back to take a better look at the gifts. She found the perfume perfectly suited to her tastes, lightly applying a small amount to her hands and taking in the delightful floral, fruity aroma with the smallest hints of tea. "This is so nice! I'd expect nothing less from such a beautiful region!"

But what really left her speechless was the music box. The second its familiar melody filled the air, her heart jumped and more tears came to her eyes. It was her VDC song, her victory song, one she held very close to her heart indeed. Now it was Danica's turn to throw her arms around them.

"I can't believe it!" she hugged them tightly before opening the music box again and smiling. "You guys went to so much trouble for me, but it's beautiful! And so thoughtful."

Danica held the music box close to her heart. She knew exactly where she was going to place it in her room; right next to the one her sister gave to her. After all, both were birthday gifts, and both held special meaning for her.

"Thank you, Joker! Thank you, Punch! My birthday is all the brighter now with you two here!"

Too many commas for the tags and just doing my first three babies for now, and specifically how their sprite idle animations would go in-game...

Joker twirls the end of her ponytail around her finger, purses her lips, or drums her fingers on her desk in class. In PE, she tugs at the bottom of her shirt, holds her broom like a mic stand, or does a little step-touch, step-touch dance while looking at the sky. In battles, she'll do the hair twirl, clothing adjustment, or step-touch dance.

In class, Punch will nod off and then suddenly sit up, adjust his gloves, or tap his pen against his chin. In PE, he'll jog a couple steps in place, stretch his arms over his head, or yawn. In battles, it's stretch, glove (or cuff) adjustment, or patting his pockets like he lost something.

Both twins have matching chef's kiss poses in Alchemy and matching "get a load of this guy" faces when Crowley shows up.

Nana in history puts her chin onto her hand; suddenly has her ears go flat, tail big, and her eyes wide; or sneaks a piece of candy. In PE, she'll rock back and forth on her feet, swish her tail while her ears flicker, or suddenly give a little jump into a wide play stance. In battles, definitely the play stance (maybe w shoulder wiggle to approximate hunting jump butt wiggle), biggening of tail and flattening of earsies, and pulling candy out of her pockets.

Just released: Tropical Wear Punch!

Nothing like waiting for the event to end to finally post the SSR card! Hehe!

Our ukulele-playing, beach-loving, curly-haired bestie Punch Carder found himself drawn into the book with the others, and made a very special out of this world friend! A little piece of that dreamlike time will stay inside his heart forever.

Joker:

Gonna say Tidus would absolutely love being in Joker's company. She's funny, eccentric, and seems like she's willing to chat about any and everything. All of which he'd gladly exchange for info about his world and peeks at his sketchbooks

Punch:

I actually can see Albert being in a ship with Punch. Both seem to be well rounded in 'opposing' expertise; Punch with mechanics/robotics/sports, with Al in potions/culinary/artistic circles. I can see both finding things in their own field to show the other that might interest them, and finding enjoyment out of parallel play sessions.

And once they get there, they run into Joker and Sparky, fresh off of their blastcycle ride date ...

Oooh! I've got "legacy" students in my roster, too; Joker and Punch's father Wild Carder is a former Heartslabyul vice housewarden, and founded the blastcycle enthusiasts club with then-best friend JL LaPerle (who is the dad of @twst-the-night-away's beautiful Savvy) during his time there. I wonder if Wild and Morrigan knew one another?

Joker and Punch'll be by with happy wishes for Ellis, too! Hope she's ready for a song, because they've brought their instruments... prepare for an accordion and ukulele duet. They also brought along a batch of cupcakes they baked together. Joker knitted a cute scarf for Ellis, and Punch put together a simple music box. They hope that it'll be a great birthday!

The Ramshackle Prefect was confused as to why the Carder Twins had their instruments with them but then, it hit her. “Oh! A song!? Oh man! Thank you Punch and Joker!” As they sang, Ellis took one of the cupcakes they had brought and excitedly took a bite. When they were done, Ellis clapped nonstop for the twins!

When opening the gifts, Ellis happily exclaimed “OH MY! Joker! This is just BEAUTIFUL! I’ll be sure to wear this soon!” Ellis jumped up and hugged the girl and eagerly tried it on.

“Time for Punch’s gift!” Ellis practically sang. “Oh! A box!…open it? Alright!” As she opened the box, a pretty little tune followed it and Ellis quickly realized what it was. “A music box! Oh it’s just lovely! Thank you so much Punch!”

skye has a love hate relationship with people younger than him, especially people like ace trappola for example (yes i love slandering ace dont come at me/lh/j). but he also have a soft spot(?) for them if they're just sweet little beans, and that applies to punch and joker 😌.

he says he hates kids, but still lets joker screw around with his hair and allows punch to follow around. he just doesn't want to admit he found them both precious.

Happy Birthday Joker and Punch Carder!

The planet has taken another trip around the sun, and we've once again reached the twins' birthday! They're ready to take their symbolic flights of honor (albeit nervously, in Joker's case) and make their wishes for the year ahead!

About their broomquets:

Joker's bouquet contains red roses, lily of the valley, white and orange daffodils, deep orange gerbera daisies, and a few sprigs of pussywillow. Red roses are probably the most closely associated with the Queendom of Roses, and are known to symbolize passion and romance. Lily of the valley are there to symbolize good luck, harmony, and prosperity. Daffodils represent a fresh start and joy. Orange gerberas stand for happiness, friendship, and warmth. And pussywillows are indicative of prosperity, springtime, and unconditionality.

Punch's bouquet contains lilacs, white roses, lavender, and blue eucalyptus; all plants noted for their strong fragrances. Lilacs are a symbol of renewal, but also symbolize confidence. White roses are indicative of a new beginning and hope, and also show his ties to the Queendom of Roses. Lavender flowers are said to represent devotion, calmness, and a higher purpose. And eucalyptus is used to remove negative energy, as well as representing strength and abundance.

It's my birthday, too! And they may not fly, but my family gave me white mums and orange roses, just as lovely!🧡🧡🧡

I was actually having a bit of a time figuring out both Carder Kids as characters and finally...I got it for both of them:

The Lonely

These two have some legit identity issues, and I can only imagine how isolating it can make one feel. And as a twin who's gone through high school, it becomes almost a double-edged sword having someone so close to you. You want to be there for the other, but at the same time not wanting to feel like you're playing into the 'matching set' expectation. So there's isolation there when trying to be your own person but not knowing WHAT that 'person' is.
