Continuation of my AU where Eggman finds both Shadow and Maria in cryosleep and decides to adopt them! I need a shorter name lmao… perhaps Robotnik Family AU?

Thinking about Sage recently. I adore her characters in the games and how it really allows us to explore more of the emotional side of Dr eggman. So I’ve been thinking of ways Sage could fit into the movie universe and came to these conclusions.

Alternate universe: Sort of an accidental project that Robotnik had been working on for years because he never had any one person who stuck around. So he tried to make a responsive Ai that would deal with his ramblings. Once Stone came around, the project was put on hold and forgotten.

After the end of sonic movie three, Dr Robotnik survived and him and Stone continue to hide out. Robotnik now having some fresh generational trauma and daddy issues tried to keep his mind busy and continues the SAGE project. She is accessible only through the weird virtual reality headset thing they have and Robotnik starts to develop a connection to the AI. Using it in his own way to cope with his child neglect. By giving his own creation something he never had (he already treats them like his babies in the movies so it’s obviously he has no issue forming attachments to machines he creates). However she is unstable and they continue to struggle to preserve her uniqueness.

Thats all I really have as a base line of an idea. This was more thrown together cause I wanted some sweet Stone and Sage interactions and Robotnik of course. I love found family RAAAA- anyway. Enjoy tehee

MAFIA AU

In the light (or more precisely, the dearth) of Mafia AUs in this fandom, I have resolved to shut my trap and make my own.

BASELINE (Gerald, Ivo and the Family Business)

The founder and patriach of the Botnik Family Business is Gerald, and immediate family consists of Maria and Ivo, his surviving grandchildren.

The Family Business started off as a fairly powerful gang, due to Gerald's own efforts in commanding a good portion of DC and San Francisco. But it didn't REALLY take off until he took Ivo in as his right hand man after the deaths of Ivo's father, who had been his eldest son.

Gerald did most of the raising, in some sense of the word. He didn't like Ivo much--Ivo was a neurotic, combative, insubordinate and was even more ambitious than he was. But Ivo was a GENIUS.

Gerald paid for Ivo's education, middle school to every doctorate. He had 3 PhDs by 25. He had 5 by 30. He had 7, technically, on account of several new academic developments in medical industry, but Ivo had always regarded the last two were just "honorary."

Ivo respected Gerald, but he knew he could be better, could be greater than Gerald ever could be. He started developing weapons in high school, and it was his idea to establish a military liaison selling his inventions in college. They took off focus from crude revenues like "Protection rackets" and instead focused on global underground arms dealing, mercenary work, biochemical drug testing and organ harvesting. The Family Business exploded. They were calling it a proper "Empire." People were more scared of Ivo than they ever were of Gerald, and all these combined, Ivo and Gerald's relationship only got more tetchy as they grew.

MARIA

Gerald discovered Maria in his 90's, and Ivo's 50's. She's the daughter of an old mistress, left on his doorstep when she died of cancer. Gerald fairly adored Maria from the get go. She's sweet, charming, kind and obedient.

He doesn't say it out loud, but Ivo suspects Gerald plans to name Maria as his heir whenever he finally dies despite...everything. Ivo doesn't HATE her. He has too much affection for family, or he'd have killed off Gerald years ago. No, he wishes he could hate her, but he doesn't really. Maria thinks he does though, and is fairly confused and frustrated by Ivo's cold shoulder. She hasn't got any other family. She's 14.

SHADOW

Maria is closest with Shadow, who was a homeless orphan Gerald randomly takes a liking to when he found him in DC. Gerald liked his moxie. Up until he found Maria he treated the kid as some kind of foster son of sorts (Ivo thinks Gerald's gotten sentimental in his old age. He DOES hate Shadow.), so now he entrusts Maria to Shadow as her primary bodyguard. They have a sibling-like relationship. Shadow is 17.

STONE

Stone is Ivo's right hand man, bodyguard and assistant, and he has been so for a decade.

Stone is an ex-CIA who discovered the Robotnik through work and has, shall we say, developed an obsessive one sided crush on Ivo through the years.

Like he's heard of Ivo since his years in active military duty, and his inventions never fail to be groundbreaking. And they only grow more and more impressive over time.

He's been trying to find a way to get on Ivo's radar for years. He gotta be smart with it. He got his chance when he was deployed for a retrieval mission by a ticked off general. It's an off-the-book mission. His fascination with the Mad Doctor is an open secret among the ranks, and his perfect ops record made him the perfect agent for the job. Ivo had managed to get some dirt on him that he's threatening to use as blackmail, and he needs Stone to steal it back from him.

Stone uses the opportunity to prove his worth. He steals the data, and "slips up", getting caught. He confronts Ivo face to face, and reveals his intentions to be an interview of sorts. Proving the fact that he had succeeded in his mission nonetheless. Ivo was greatly amused (and slightly impressed) by the sheer recklessness, audacity and skill.

He tells Stone to prove himself by assassinating the General who sent him on the mission in the first place, and to do it in 5 hours. Stone succeeds in 3. Ivo hires him. The rest is history.

MISCELLANEOUS

Rouge, Omega, Cubot and Orbot and Sage are all part of the family as well! Human AU. They are all Shadow's inner circle, and are exceptionally fond of Maria.

The goons are called Badniks, which consist of both human people and mass produced drones. 90% of any added human goons are done by Gerald. Ivo works primarily with his drones, because he thinks people are too "squishy, annoying, stupid and inefficient." The divide in loyalty is clear but unspoken--the drones and tech are more loyal to Ivo, and the people (save maybe a few like Stone, Metal and Sage) are more loyal to Gerald.

Ivo usually hates like. Touch and bodily fluids. He wears long sleeves and gloves. But he DOES enjoy killing and maiming and the like. He thinks its entertaining as all get out. Nothing like a good torture session to let off some steam.

Ivo walks with a cane sometimes. Not for any specific reason he just looks hot.

Ark!Movie!Sonic AU

What if the Ultimate Lifeform and the Fastest Thing Alive grew up together?

This has been an AU that has been crawling around in my brain since the first movie and I needed to get it out somehow 😭

In this AU, after Sonic sets off the blackout, he immediately uses a ring in his cave but when he gets attacked by drones, it breaks the ring and causes him to travel to the past and he lands unconscious in front of the GUN labs. The same day, Shadow’s meteor had landed.

Sonic becomes an essential part to Project Shadow as he is the only other species reminiscent to Shadow’s biology, a mentor to Shadow on how to use his speed, and is one of the only people Shadow considers as a friend. And if you’re a friend of Shadow, Sonic instantly makes a bond with his sister, Maria.

Sonic and Maria are practically reflections of each other, getting into hyperactive mischief and dragging Shadow around to show off their pop culture knowledge.

After years of loneliness, Sonic believes he finally found a home.

So when the project gets shutdown, Sonic doesn’t go down without a fight.

“You want him? You gotta get through me. Shadow, take Maria and go. I’m done running away.”

“Sonic-”

“Go!”

“Come on, Maria.”

”Sayonara, Sonic the Hedgehog.”

Sonic learns his lesson on refusing to run away in a twisted way. He defends the lab with his overwhelming power, leaving casualties and injuries on the way.

In a single night, Sonic has become a national threat. While Shadow must be stored away, Sonic must be executed on sight but he goes missing before they could.

A broken ring sends Sonic back to Green Hills, as if he never left. Instead of being hunted by the government to uncover the strange power, they know exactly what they are looking for. Sonic is relieved to home again but he knows he can’t stay. He has a family to save.

“Here we go. Hold on Maria. Hold on Shadow. I’m coming.”

whoops had a dream about this au where sonic.exe was there for some reason and doodled them again. some notes:

sorta vaguely still takes place in the sonic universe just very au. the main divergence is both shadow and maria escaped the ark, lived in hiding for a long time, and while shadow eventually obviously got in touch with his relatives (since eggman is dumping his kids on him) but he faked maria's death after the Portal Incident. so like vaguely the sonic plot is going on in the background but stuff like sonic adventure 2 never happened and characters like rouge and shadow never really got involved with stuff.

sage and metal obviously aren’t twins, but they’re both vaguely on the level of 11-12 year olds. metal isn’t really past the mental state she was created at bc she was neglected so much, sage is only a few months old but she had to mature too quick bc. look at her father and her sister.

sage is generally the more rational of the two (bc she isn’t instantly killing people bc she’s bored mostly), though she's absolutely not as cold and logical as she appears. she's very driven to be “useful”, because she’s terrified that she’s been abandoned and that she wasn’t “good enough” and she doesn’t want to lose the few things she still has, which drives her into her intense investigation of anything abnormal she can find. her lil hat has a sage on it 💚

metal is. metal. she's a tiny whirlwind of anger and hate. she's the emotional sister, but not in the excited and enthusiastic sense she’s just extremely messed up emotionally and reacts with violence towards the slightest provocation. she does open up a bit after time with someone who treats her as a person (which makes her become extremely clingy towards shadow which he’s. concerned about) but even when out of her shell a bit her joy is violence. she's recently realised she’s a girl and is experimenting by going full 12 year old girly girl bc she hasn’t realised she’s a goth yet (and is honestly kind of having fun with glitter and sequins, especially after she learnt you can take peoples eyes out with them, but she will Not admit it ever)

shadow is fucking Concerned bc like. all he knows about these two at first is that they’re his nephew who’s trying to take over the world or somethings kids and he doesn’t want to have to deal with robot invasions into his town bc he’s fucking tired of life. he did Not expect the two most traumatised robot kids known to man. he’s still laying low in a small town where interpol won’t find him, but he’s aimless as shit and has like 0 friends. his protectiveness over maria lead to the argument that caused the Portal Incident, and in his guilt he’s lost sight of what he once promised in a singleminded quest to get her back. yes he runs a scam ass tourist trap. he hates every second of it it’s just good business when ur kind of a passive beacon of chaos energy and you cannot avoid weird shit.

maria robotnik inherited the genius in most of her family and wanted to use it for good, but due to her nids she knew her time was running out. blood transfusions from shadow kept her alive as an emergency treatment, but as her disease progressed she sunk more and more into her research and eventually felt like she was trapped and unable to spread her inventions before she passed, leading to her and shadow's falling out. also demon consorting. she managed to find a somewhat of a cure after the Portal Incident but at a high price, she still suffers with the majority of symptoms even worse than before and is very sickly and weak but won’t die from it progressing. she’s grown rather jaded and bitter, a far cry from her innocent self as a child, but she’s still optimistic and wants to help the world. starting with the murder children her lil baby cousin ivo built for some reason what the fuck she is getting those two therapy immediately.

since sonic adventure 2 never happened rogue never ended up involved in the plot but she did eventually meet shadow anyway, when she was still a teenager looking for gems Very Illegally (shadow gives off the same readings as a chaos emerald, unfortunately for her). he's kind of become a very grumpy mentor figure to her bc she still hangs out around him bc she finds him very funny to tease when she’s not out stealing gems. sage finds her cool (and has a bit of a crush, but she’s unaware bc she doesn’t really know about romance let alone lesbianism) and she lets metal stab things if he gives her jewellery to make her look the other way, so she kind of ends up becoming a cool older friend to the robotnik sisters tho she does think they’re kind of weird.

sonic.exe is here bc it’s funny for him to be bill and that’s the only reason. but that aside he's a demon fucking around before he implements his plan to turn the world into his playground. he's barely more mature than the siblings, roughly on the same level as a teenager (which was also the age maria was when she did her consorting with demons) but he’s also completely sadistic and an absolute asshole (which… is kind of true for metal too but she's vaguely developing a moral compass and a sense of humanity after having a semi decent guardian) and likes hurting people for fun. his form is edgy sonic bc he takes the form of something his targets recognise to fuck with them.

big literally just lives here. he moved back in after adventure 1. he's literally just chilling. good for him.

An idea I got from seeing @humanityinahandhag’s post about Maria being an old women living in green hills and shadow being used by g.u.n by a mind wiped killing machine, it’s mostly that, but Marisa is saved by Tom’s grandfather using shadow’s blood to heal her and hides with her in green hills and becoming the new sheriff, meanwhile shadow is tortured by g.u.n and is brainwashed to become a winter Soldier type, and is mainly used for experiments and killing anyone who they deem a threat, no matter if they were actually dangerous or not, however no matter how much they try, he could never entirely forgot the nice blonde girl from his dreams, the one who played with him, the one who didn’t chain him or shock him or make him hurt people, she looked at him with joy in her eyes, not fear like his victims did, not hate like the rest of g.u.n people’s did. he looked at him like he was someone, not a monster, not a weapon, and he can’t think of a name for her, he can’t let g.u.n know about her. Meanwhile Maria has grown up as Mary wachowski and followed her grandfather’s footsteps as a scientist and has PhDs in medicine and astromany, she looks for a cure for her youngest granddaughter’s bittle bone disease
