Regulus knew he had a reputation.

He didn’t do “relationships”. He preferred casual. No attachments. 

This all changed when he started with James Potter though. 

Suddenly he found himself caring about the other man and wanting more than just a fling.

The look in James’ eyes had enough to make Regulus’ heart and knees go weak.

Regulus found himself even getting jealous when he spotted James chatting with other blokes. 

Finally, one day when Regulus had had enough, he grabbed James by his shirt and pulled him into a closet.

James had started to lean in but Regulus shook his head adamantly. 

“I want you,” Regulus demanded, “all to myself. I hate sharing.”

“So we’re dating now? What happened to ‘casual’?” James smirked down at him.

Regulus put a finger on James’ chest. “I told you, I hate sharing.”

James chuckled as he leaned over and locked the closet door.

Please, please, please, pleaaaaase. Im actualky begging on my knees for a good regulus black fic. WITHOUT james. Idgaf about jegulus. Enjoy whatever you want. Its not my cup of tea, and it doesnt help that EVERY FUCKING REGGIE FIC I FIND IS CENTERED AROUND JEGULUS. I need him to have a fic centered around HIM. Him before he sacrificed himself, his relationship with his brother being slowly and painfully repaired, him in a modern au, building a relationship with his nephew draco, literally fucking anything but shipping him. I need my boy to be something other than a shipping trope. Hes sm more.

“Just admit I’m the better flyer, Potter!”

“But you’re not…” whined James in response to Regulus’ remark.

Remus leaned over to whisper in Barty’s ear. “How long have they been arguing again?”

“They’ve been doing this for like 30 minutes,” Regulus’ friend whispered back with a bemused chuckle. 

Remus glanced over to where the Slytherin Seeker was heatedly berating James who kept retorting indignantly. “Should we try to stop them��?”

Barty let out a sharp bark of laughter. “If you’ve got a death wish, sure, mate.”

Remus nodded. “James’ pride’ll never let him admit that to Reg,” he mused.

“And Reg would rather die than let Potter win an argument,” Barty added. 

Then, to the absolute surprise of both Remus and Barty,  after a few more minutes of pointless back and forth, James pulled Regulus in by his waist and gave him a tiny kiss. The shorter boy tried to wriggle out of James’ grip but eventually gave up and settled into it. Remus turned away and Barty did too. The moment was James and Regulus’ now. Faintly, Remus heard James murmuring to Regulus an apology. 

Barty rolled his eyes and stuck out his tongue and Remus chuckled. Despite the constant bickering, James and Regulus were perfect for each other. Anyone could see that.
