op here, iāve been trying my best to do ādeath of the authorā n stuff with this, but i just wanna say that imo thatās not the philosophy of the quiz. i posted this in march so yknow pretty different emotional vibe at the time compared to right now, nor did i think this would blow up on the scale it did. from my pov i was doing like, a twilight zone episode. a āhey wouldnāt it be fucked up if this happened?ā type thing.
when i was making it my number one priority was āmake people realize romeo and juliet isnāt a love storyā which informed the tone, and another high priority was āmake people want to read/watch/understand romeo and julietā which to an audience of tumblr users also informed the tone. (if you go back far enough to when this post was first getting big you can see i said multiple times i personally thought the quiz was funny)
also, because i was using the medium of āpersonality quizā i was able to put the quiz taker directly into the charactersā shoes. (realizing just now a medium full of seemingly branching pathways & choices that all end up in predetermined places ties really nicely into it) in order to be a character from romeo and juliet, you have to be beholden to fate.
the quiz intentionally blurs the line between the fictional and real so i donāt blame you for interpreting it that way, and hell, if you continue to see it that way then i wonāt stop you, this is just my personal interpretation of it and thatās yours. i wonāt deny that if i made this quiz today i wouldnātāve made it so bleak, and that when i saw my notes spike in activity from this back on the sixth my immediate reaction was āoh no, i hope everyoneās okay and this doesnāt ruin their day furtherā
anyway long story short (too late) i also believe thereās hope in the world. thereās the possibility to change. we, as real people and not fictional characters, are not beholden to the strings of fate or the writing of an author. stay strong everyone.

listen, you knew dating a good soccer player in high school was a big deal, but you didn't realize how big of a deal it really was when he went pro.
this was the same boy ( now man) that you'd been dating since you were 14, so nothing really changed your views on him. if you could love him through his awkward phase, and he could love you through yours, there was no way you'd break up.
again, you didn't realize that your relationship was such a big deal. it wasn't that the two of you were a secret, it was more of a 'private not secret' situation.
so when the two of you woke up in your shared bed because of just how many notifications the both of you were getting, you knew something was up.
and low and behold, something was wrong. when you opened any social media the first thing you saw was a strangely amazing photo of you and your long-term boyfriend kissing. really, if it wasn't a paparazzi photo, it would be your lock screen.
"aren't we just the cutest?" he asked you, phone thrown back onto his bedside table as if he didn't have a care in the world. (and he really didn't, not in this case)
truly, the only thing that may make him angry in this whole situation is the fact that he got woken up far earlier than his usual routine by all the commotion.
but of course, as he was dozing back off, you were reading the comments, as any loyal significant other would.

"go to bed, 's too early to deal with all this."
his fans were silly, if they could see you with this bed-head man right now, they'd see there was no way the two of you would ever break up.

anyone who knew your boyfriend knew he was...a little extreme.
and unfortunately for you, this also applied when your relationship became public because of a slight slip of focus from the two of you. it wasn't that you were trying to keep your relationship a secret, you'd already been together a year now, but you also weren't trying to out yourselves.
yet, one singular minute when the two of you slipped away to the bathroom together at a soccer banquet...well lets just say a paparazzi was scarily ready to snap someone, anyone's, photo.
so here you were, sitting in a terrifyingly big office with your boyfriend and almost his entire management team.
"do you know what this could do to your reputation?" his manager asked. "it's just two adults doing adult things, they should've been in that bathroom! that would've gotten themā"
"okay, sir..."the pr woman cut him off, ever too enthusiastic to be talking about your private lives.
"you just need to ignore all of this until it goes away, alright? no press interviews after games anymore," she sighed as if this was basic comprehension. (your boyfriend wasn't the smartest but he also didn't need to be treated like an idiot.) "and no posting on any social medias for the time being. do you understand?"
"yeah, yeah. no talking to the grown men after games. and..."he grimaced at the thought of his next condition. " c'mon is posting on my socials that bad? i don't post about us anyways."
"at. all." and the room felt as icy as the pr woman's stare.
"yeah, no, okay i got it. no social media."
after another thirty minutes of this, with them saying basically the same stuff to you (even though you had no real social media presence anyways), you guys finally left.
"no fucking posting? what if i have to talk about a game coming up?" "i'm sure she knows how to do her job, love." you soothed your boyfriend as you got in the car the company arranged to have you two taken up with.
"yeah, well whatever. give me your hand," and who were you to say no to your boyfriend?
he took your hand and placed it on his neck, a place where you could see a few bites and hickeys if you really looked hard enough.
before you could protest he took a picture, posting it on his VERY public account with the caption...

before turning off his phone completely.

how do two chronically offline people realize their relationship is now under scrutiny by the entire world?
the simple answer is...they don't!
you've never been interested in social media the way other girls your age had been. really, you'd rather just watch a video essay on every little topic that interests you than sit and watch six second videos then scroll all day.
to say the least, fast and forever changing social media just wasn't your thing.
and your boyfriend? he hardly even used his phone. unless it was for business or you, the thing was practically shoved away somewhere he couldn't care less about.
he would rather be reading or spending time with you out on a date...which is exactly the predicament the paparazzi put you in earlier this week.
the two of you were photographed having a little picnic and reading date at a small park that was pretty far out of town, assuming no one there knew, or even cared, enough to take a picture, but alas, someone did.
you and he had spent the rest of your week in pure, relaxed bliss. he had a game on saturday, so besides him going to practice and working out, the two of you stayed inside almost all week to prepare for the rather hectic weekend.
to say the game was a nail biter would be the understatement of the century. after two additional times, it was your boyfriend who scored the winning goal.
of course, you cheered the loudest, not noticing plenty of fans eyes on you unlike how many used to just chalk you up as an ecstatic fan.
as the post game interview came for him, you decided to stay closer to the door just incase it ran short. sometimes it was a one and done for him and others the questions went on for at least fifteen minutes, it just depended on his mood.
of course, the first question was about his game winning goal, but the second one threw him and you for a loop.
" what do you have to say about the photos of you and your reported girlfriend that have come out this past week? "
"...huh? what photos?"
eventually, the two of you did see the pictures, and all you could do was laugh because...how had you two not found out about this?
and you also made the picture your phone lock screen, but he didn't have to know that.

more me verbally processing my feelings on this game and it's story that i sent in discord but i know reading these things can be helpful to others processing so im sharing them here <3
even though i think i personally am able to find coherent meaning in solas's ending, specifically the status of the veil, and i do think its good and i like it, i really have to work to do it. the way its written is kind of confusing because the message is like ok. let go of your regrets. but you also have to atone for your mistakes. but solas believes he is atoning by taking the veil back down and bringing immortality back and making sure more spirits are not turned into demons? but the story tells us that version of atonement is Wrong, but why is it wrong? because people will die? but people also die because of the veil? mages are mass incarcerated and lobotimized bc of the veil, elves have been enslaved for millenia, PEOPLE AGE AND DIE, BECAUSE OF THE VEIL? so he isnt supposed to atone for that mistake by fixing it he's just supposed to accept it and let go? so are we supposed to atone for our mistakes or not? what determines whether or not we need to atone? he has to atone for what he did to the titans but not what he did by accident to his own people i guess? and he is going to atone by maintaining the status quo that he created because people have gotten used to it?
i think the answer based on the regret prison scene with rook escaping with varric's help and that banger line of varric's is to take accountability and own up to your choices, they are yours and no one can take them from you. rook says something to one of the regret statues (for me it was harding) thats like "i made a choice and so did you and you knew the risks" or something so i think that is the key. solas cannot accept his choices and so he is desperate to undo them no matter what kind of harm it may do. he is trapped in regret and the past to the point that he cant accept them and move forward, and varric is the perfect contrast of this with how readily he accepts his death as a consequence of his love and hope for his friend. even mythal accepts her own choices when she tells solas that she turned him from his purpose. and she doesnt apologize or even express regret at all, partly because shes a crazy bitch (affectionate) but partly because i think her quiet, cold acceptance is part of the lesson solas needs to learn in that moment. solas is constantly saying, "im sorry, but", "ir abelas, vhenan, but i cannot". mythal just states her actions plainly; i forced you to take a body, i brought you into war, these burdens are ours to bear together, i release you. no apology, no rumination, she is at peace with her decision even though it is wrong. i think this works wonderfully on a personal individual level of personal regrets. it is a good lesson; regret does not serve any purpose other than to hurt you. it brings no one back, it helps nothing, it does not make the world a better place. solas has to let go of his regrets so that he can become the hero that varric sees deep down in him. it is an essential part of his personal journey as a character... but it gets stickier when we are talking about systemic change. obvi a lot of dragon age's modern, young audience is very much in favor of "tear it all down!!" and i am too but i think with solas they are trying to tell a very personal and individual story of a man and his regrets rather than make a social commentary on radical change, but they also dont make that clear enough, so the two get muddied together when it comes to the question of the veil in a way that feels like they are advocating for maintaining the status quo, which i dont think was their intention.
i think this is so muddied because inquisition very much makes clear commentary on systems and institutions with the chantry, the orlesian empire, ferelden monarchy, mages and templars, and the inquisition itself being all vulnerable to corruption, and solas has a lot to say about all of this and he is very much presented as being right (like when he tells you about the corruption in your own ranks in trespasser and how hes spying on you lol) and then veilguard does not do this AT ALL, all of the issues are very personal ones of people and their identity, people and their family, people and their regrets etc. so i think a lot of us are in this mindset from inquisition of like.... yeah disrupt the status quo install a puppetmaster elf to rule an imperialist empire, make leliana pope and radicalize the chantry even if its bloody, dissolve the inquisition, abolish the circles etc. etc. and the question of the veil is very much an extension of these philosophical questions about systems and organizations. and for those of us who leaned towards dissolution of all of those corrupt structures, dissolution of the veil is the logical conclusion to a story thats sending us that message. but then veilguard just. does not even engage with these topics at all. like its not even a question. it takes the question of the veil and translates it into a personal issue of solas's psyche (which is super interesting, just different) and connects it to his past actions, his relationship with mythal, and his perception of himself, rather than a macro-level question of what is best for the world when pursuing change, and the answer for solas on a personal level ends up being different from the answer that inquisition was asking us, but it feels disjointed as a result.
so the veil staying up was the right decision because it forced solas to let go of his regrets and the game is about him. so it was an exercise in his therapy session with his two ex-gfs and some annoying kid who wont leave him alone. but the problem is it doesn't answer or engage with the greater questions and themes about systemic change that the series has been building up to.
veilguard is interesting because it wants to be dragon age 2 so bad while simultaneously being terrified of dragon age 2. solas bringing down the veil would have been the answer to the question that anders blowing up the chantry asked, but veilguard decided to ask a completely different question instead. and i think it did a good job in that specific goal, but it doesnt satisfy 15 years of build up and instead just throws it out the window in favor of something else.

Long Taash storyline rant, by an enby
Listen. At first I was honestly not that offended/upset with the Taash enby stuff. And having an enby Rook who was able to help them out was honestly pretty fun. It was definitely the first time any video game engaged directly with nonbinary identity like this, and while it's not really 1-1 with my own experiences, I thought that it was. Fine? Ya know? I thought it was a very novel experience to finally have a fellow enby NPC that you could talk to about being nonbinary. It's never happened in any other game I've played.
But then it just ... kept going. And on one hand I get it, because you don't just decide your nonbinary and that's it -- it's a process. But the way it's handled is absolutely insane to me. First of all, how old is Taash supposed to be? They give off whiny teen vibes, and it's very off-putting. This is the character that's meant to represent me? Why are they written like a child?
Second, why are we using modern terms? The word "nonbinary" IRL exists because it is a rejection of the Western gender binary. It's a specific term that isn't universal, and since no previous game bothers to engage with the gender roles of Thedas to begin with, it's absolutely insane to hear these hyperspecific terms used in this made-up fantasy world. Especially since the Qun already has words and concepts for their gender roles -- why didn't BioWare just base this story on those? Why not try to contextualize this in-universe? There are other nonbinary characters in the game, but they just popped up in this previously unequal and often sexist world and are just vibing. With no explanation. Who's out there doing thedosian gender studies? How are they spreading these revolutionary concepts so far and so quickly that the terminology becomes universal?
Side note on that, why does Taash have a little counselling session with the other two trans people that sounds like something they'd do in sex ed class (in Sweden, anyway)? Why is this happening during a magical apocalypse? Hello? Look at this fucking codex entry and try not to cringe
Like. Who is this for? This doesn't make me feel good as a nonbinary person. This makes me feel like a freak, out-of-place, and like I'm a fucking baby that needs my existence validated by some fucking bitchass video game codex entry preaching at me about how totally valid I am. This doesn't feel like respect, or inclusion -- it feels patronizing. It feels corporate, like we're ticking off boxes. "Look everyone, we're using the appropriate terminology! We're so inclusive!" And you know what? The fucking anti-woke chuds are gonna look at this and think THIS is me. That all I care about is having my terminology and identity carelessly stuffed into places just so I can feel good about who I am.
And before tumblrinas get upset, I'm not saying I don't want rep, or that I'm one of the "good ones" who wants video games to be free of "ideology." I am one of the bad ones. Taash should be nonbinary and I should be able to play a nonbinary Rook and I want both of those things to be explicit and accepted in-game! But I want those in a way that respects me and my intelligence, and the world BioWare has created that I've come to love. Who is preventing BioWare from actually, ya know, unwrapping the sexism and misogyny that they started in Origins? Who's stopping them from actually tackling the gender politics of Thedas? Why don't we ACTUALLY sit down and figure out how a society like the Qun might approach somebody not willing or able to conform to their particular rules? Especially the Qun. Like, they had so much potential for something actually interesting here, and instead it's "mom it's not a phase, respect meeeeee!"
Third, and this is my favorite fucking part, they tie Taash's gender to their background, where the Qun represents conformity and Rivain represents freedom. (Which is an entire can of worms in itself that I won't go into here.) I don't actually mind this? I have some extra special boy insight on this part of the quest, because I am also an immigrant who was born in one country and grew up in another. Being nonbinary and being an immigrant, while separate, have both had a similar effect in my life. It's left me feeling like I don't belong anywhere at times, like I'm something different and strange, and at times like I'm a kaleidoscope of expression and freedom, with unique experiences not everyone has. There is an absolutely valid intersection there that could have been explored and would've been very impactful if done right.
But instead we get this

Why is there a BINARY CHOICE in a story where a character embraces being NONBINARY? Why are we now equating Taash's background and cultural belonging to the demands of their mother? You can reject what your parent is forcing you into without completely rejecting your culture! Am I fucking taking crazy pills right now?
The idea that Taash, upon discovering they're nonbinary, has to now say goodbye to being a Qunari? When they weren't even ever shown to care about the Qun in the first place? WHY IS THIS A CHOICE THAT HAS TO BE MADE? WHY ARE THEY ASKING ME WHETHER THEY SHOULD CONTINUE FOLLOWING THIS CREED THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT? (Side note: why did their mother escape from the Qun only to enforce it herself?)
Like? You can't spend a whole fucking subplot deciding you're neither a man nor a woman, but then equate being nonbinary to being Rivaini, and thinking you need to pick that or being Qunari. I'm sorry? I'm sorry? I'm sorry?
Why is there no third choice? Why is there no "Hey you can be both" or "Hey just pick whatever from either culture you want to keep and throw away what you don't?"
I am going insane. The game sits you down and condescends at you for ages about basic contemporary gender theory, but then tries to inexplicably tie that to Taash's cultural background, but then doesn't bother examining how those cultures treat gender at all, and then finally forces us into a binary choice ... for a character whose entire fucking personality is "nonbinary."
The Qun is a misogynistic society. Rivain is a matriarchal society. (This was true for the previous games, at least.) The way these cultures approach gender is vastly different. But instead of examining how such a person would struggle with their background and how that would tie into their gender identity, it's just "Rivain good" and "Qun bad." Pick one or the other. Conform or rebel. Pick one or the other.
And that's the storyline of the nonbinary character.
The reactionary chuds will hate this and blame nonbinary people for how much this fucking sucks. While I can't claim or enjoy it because it's corporate nonsense and fucking sucks. All this does is show people that when games include enby rep, it's hack shit like this, so why include it if it's gonna suck ass, right? This bad writing will just make your game worse, so don't bother!
So yeah. Cool.

It's pretty and all, but there's only like eight unique items in the game (counting the Runes), and only like 12 unique enemies. It's a huge world that can be fun to explore, but everything just gets really samey after a while. Plus the story sucks.
5. Three-way tie between Twilight Princess, Skyward Sword, and Wind Waker, with Ocarina of Time as a close second.
6. Adventure of Link. I've heard the horror stories.

Jabu-Jabu's Belly from OoT because it's just such a unique setting (the OoA version is technically the same, but it's both way more annoying and also doesn't feel as much like the actual insides of a creature); Stone Tower from MM because its main puzzle mechanic is just so creative; Goron Mines, Arbiter's Grounds, and Snowpeak Ruins from TP because they feel like actual locations with a specific in-universe purpose rather than just "random place full of monsters and treasure;" the Temple of the Ocean King and Tower of Spirits because I really like the "central superdungeon" idea (honestly don't know why TotOK is so hated; reach new item unlocks shortcuts, so it's not like you have to do the same thing every time); both of the timeshifted dungeons in SS (Lanayru Mining Facility and the Sandship) because I love that mechanic (and also for the same reason as the TP ones; Ancient Cistern from SS because I really like the sharp contrast between the bright and airy "upper world" and the dark, zombie-filled "underworld;" Sky Keep from SS because it ties together everything from all the other dungeons with a very challenging and fun puzzle mechanic. Basically I just think SS had top-tier dungeon design.
8. The Oracle duology, hands-down.
9. The postman from Twilight Princess. I don't know why everyone hates on Navi when this guy exists. WHY IN THE NAME OF DIN CAN'T I SKIP HIM?!!?!
10. Beetle from SS, Magnet Gloves from OoS, Bombchu and Hammer from PH, Ball and Chain from TP, and Double Clawshots from TP/SS.
11. Wind Waker. It's where he's got the most actual character.
12. Probably Twilight Princess. It's the first one I played through entirely on my own.
13. Overall? Much as I dislike the rest of BotW, I can't argue that its character design is top-notch. After that, it's a tie between Skyward Sword and Twilight Princess.
14. As in, which one do I prefer? That depends entirely on context. Design-wise, the Gilded Sword takes the cake, but Biggoron's Sword is probably the most satisfying given that it's the reward for such a difficult side quest, and the Master Sword of course has so much lore tied to it that it's practically another characterā¦then Skyward Sword made that literally true.
15. If Skyloft counts, then that. Otherwiseā¦ hmmā¦ the Temple of Time is cool, since it's one of the few constant locations that ties multiple games together.
16. Lorule because it answers the interesting worldbuilding question of "what happens if the Triforce is destroyed?"; the Great Sea because it's somehow exactly the right balance between full and empty to not be boring but still feel like a vast ocean; and New Hyrule because it's just so satisfying to ride the train around (plus that song slaps).

24. Either A Link to the Past or A Link Between Worlds. Those had the biggest inventories. Though the Oracle games also both have a pretty unique lineup. TP's are cool but too many of them are sadly underused.
25. Tie between Midna and Spirit Zelda (ST) because they participate the most in the story and actively help Link out instead of just being lore dumps, with Ezlo in second and Tatl in third.
26. Oracle duology collectively, with TMC as a very close second.
27. Probably A Link Between Worlds.
28. The Wind Waker. We need more games where Link actually has a family.
29. Depends entirely on the game
30. That's a hard oneā¦ Ballad of the Goddess from SS and themes from both TWW and TP are all very good, but I'd probably go with TWW or SS since those themes are actually incorporated into the game itself instead of just being background music.
31. Jabu-Jabu's Belly from OoA, Sword and Shield Maze from OoS, Ganon's Tower from ALttP, or Eagle's Tower from LA. Those ones are brutal. Though I would say that Mermaid's Cave from OoA is the most annoying with constantly having to go in and out and no easy means of doing so.
32. Probably BotW/TotK. Much as I dislike their gameplay, the map design is top-notch and looks the most like an actual fleshed-out world.
33. Depends. I like when the two are mixed, like in SS.
34. Moldorm in ALttP. He appears in ALBW and LA as well, but is more reasonable in both. Other contenders are Ghirahim III and Demise from SS, Evil Eagle and Dodongo Snakes II from LA, Mothula and Ganon from ALttP, and Knucklemaster and Yuganon from ALBW.
35. Demise from SS, Ganon from ALttP, Yuganon from ALBW, Majora from MM (without the Fierce Deity Mask)
36. Skyward Sword. It filled in a lot of worldbuilding holes. Though LA was also pretty good with the whole dream world thing.
37. Assuming we're talking about normal enemies and not bosses/minibossesā¦ Technoblins from SS are pretty annoying. So are the flying tiles from ALttP, especially in that one room where you can't just cheese them by staying in the doorway, but even with that, it's still really irritating to have to just stand there until they're finished.

40. The stupid motorcycle in BotW. And also the Sheikah Slate. Really just everything from there (and TotK) that looks like modern technology. It breaks the fantasy too hard.

42. Bunny Hood. It's the most useful one.
43. In original MM, Zora, because the swimming mechanics are so satisfying. In MM3D, I don't knowā¦ the Zora isn't as satisfying, but the other four (counting the Giant's Mask) are pretty much the same.
44. Biggoron's Sword trading sequence from OoT and Gratitude Crystals from SS. The latter is the only one I've never finished, thanks to that stupid harp minigame.
45. Also Biggoron's Sword from OoT, or Maiamais from ALBW. They have the most satisfying rewards and also aren't super annoying.
46. OoT 3D. The dungeon redesigns were AMAZING. It was like a whole entire new game.

itās hard to say what my final thoughts on datv are, and if iād recommend it or not. i thought it ended very strongly and that the overrall story was pretty good, and the combat is fun, however i truly cannot get over the writing of the companions. the lack of subtlety and the awful therapy speech some of them are especially afflicted by
and itās made much worse by the fact that Rook cannot be mean ever. i have tried! the stoic option will be called Ā«Ā move on. get over yourself.Ā Ā» and Rook says Ā«Ā oh well i think itās just not whatās best for you to dwell like that my beloved friend š©·Ā Ā» and it really made my annoyance with some of these characters worse, since i couldnāt even express anything but total love and support, no matter how much or how little i felt for them
it also felt weirdly dragon age for babies for a lot of it. i kept thinking about characters from previous games who have done truly fucked up things (like Blackwall, or Zevran) and how it would be jarring if someone like that showed up because all the most violent aspects of life in this world (like the fact that slavery is legal in places, that mages are imprisoned, etc) are not really mentioned at all. if this was your first Dragon Age game, you would not have any way to know. and my problem with that isnāt that it doesnāt respect Dragon Age canon, itās just that it makes for a more boring game

Even after everything that had happened between you and this worldās resident human-enjoyer, you surprisingly still felt at ease with Mr. Silvair. That comfortability, though, made you think hard about your sanity. After all, it probably wasnāt normal to be comfortable around someone who enjoyed taking you apart and watching your body put itself back together over and over again. Yet, you did, and you didnāt mind your current arrangement as much as you probably would have in the past.Ā
Mr. Silvairās home was destroyed in a fiery explosion (courtesy of himself), so you had offered to help him find a new one. You managed to locate a large room, one that he deemed satisfactory enough to call his base, and you had been staying with him indefinitely since then. As long as you had a comfy bed to lay in and someone else to keep you company, you were happy.Ā
Your other friends(?) frequently stopped by as well to say hello, the most common ones being Mr. Crawling and Mr. Chopped. While you were occasionally hit with a feeling of loneliness, it was hard to feel that way with so many friendly faces around. Wellā¦ maybe their faces werenāt that friendly, but they were kind and gentle with you, and thatās what truly mattered.Ā
You hear the sound of Mr. Silvair moving around in the room adjacent to the one you typically stayed in, and you wonder to yourself what his plans for today are. The tall, long-haired man spent most of his time engaged in research. You didnāt see him as frequently as one would expect despite the fact you two were practically roommates. All you could do was hope he wasnāt messing around with and subsequently angering any more terrifying, violent ghosts. You enjoyed your current home, and going out to look for another one wasnāt very high on your list of things to do.Ā
The Rubikās Cube in your hand was still as scattered as ever, and it seemed like, no matter how long you spent trying to solve it, you were only able to successfully complete one side. Mr. Masque was kind enough to give it to you (he apparently had a whole stash of the things somewhere), and his gift was something you were immensely grateful for. Attempting to figure out the puzzle helped you pass the time wherever you were alone (and it most likely helped you keep your head on straight).Ā
Youāre currently lying flat on your back atop the plush bed in the relatively empty living space, looking up at the gray concrete ceiling with a blank stare. Once you decide youāve loafed around for long enough, you stand up slowly from the bed, placing the cube gently on the covers of the cot. You stretch your arms above your head, a strangled noise coming from your throat at the movement of your stiff muscles, and you begin to make your way to the other room where yourā¦Ā
What even was Mr. Silvair to you? While yes, you were fond of him ā hell, youād go as far as to say you loved him ā you knew he didnāt feel the same. You remember the moment he told you āI not understand likeā, and that he didnāt want to save you from your condition, noā¦ he found you entertaining to keep around, and thatās why he did what he did.Ā
It was complicated, you thought, trying to have a relationship with a being who didnāt grasp what the concept of love was. Deep down, though, you knew you wouldnāt change it for the world. He enjoyed your presence, and that was all you could ask for.Ā
You walk over to the metal door and knock, waiting for a response. After a moment, you hear Mr. Silvairās voice echo, āEnter.ā
The door opens with a slight creak as you twist the knob, peeking your head inside the somewhat grimy space. The room, still fairly new, didnāt have as much blood or gore as his old one did. There were fresh stains on the floor and wall, you noted, and you couldnāt help but wonder who or what they were from exactly. It didnāt matter in the grand scheme of things, though, so you didnāt bother asking.Ā
You grin up at the taller man and give him a small wave, saying softly, āHello. I not bother?ā
He returns your smile, placing the scalpel in his hand on the stainless steel tray that held a variety of medical tools. It looked like he was in the process of cleaning the many, typically blood-stained, pieces of equipment. Mr. Silvair turns to face you and replies gently, āHello. You not bother. Enter.ā
Tilting his head to one side, his long, silver locks move when he does, cascading down his head and slipping off his shoulder at the movement. His smile drops slightly before he asks, āFeeling unwell? Injured? Need cure?ā
āNo, no cure.ā You quickly say, not quite in the mood to be dissected or taken apart right now (honestly, though, you never really were, even if you did understand why it needed to be done). You pause by the door before finally shutting it behind you, the both of you now alone in the private and secluded space.Ā
Ugh ā why was it so hard to say what was on your mind??
After taking a moment to build up your confidence, you tell Mr. Silvair while fidgeting with the rubber of the clear raincoat you wore, āI want see you. Communicate.ā
He hums and smiles at your admission, walking over to you before placing a calloused hand on your face. Your eyes close on instinct, and your breathing shutters when he rubs his thumb across your cheek. A part of you wanted to be annoyed with him since he had to be aware of the effect he had on you, yet you didnāt want to run the risk of him removing his cool palm from your skin, so you kept your mouth shut.Ā
It had taken quite some time for Mr. Silvair to get to this point of physical affection with you (something he began doing more often after he saw how much you enjoyed getting head-pats from Mr. Crawling), so you didnāt want to ruin any progress you two had made in your complicated and unconventional relationship.Ā
āOkay,ā Mr. Silvar starts, removing his hand from your face as he gestures to one of the two chairs in the room. He smiles down at you before saying, āSit. We communicate.ā
You do as youāre told without speaking another word, your hands folded in your lap after you sit down, watching Mr. Silvair take a seat on the chair across from you. You talk with him for quite some time, doing your best to update him on your current progress with the puzzle since that was pretty much the only thing you had going on in your life. While it wasnāt satisfying to speak in the other worldās language because it tended to miss most of the nuances of speech, it was the only way the two of you could communicate.Ā
Mr. Silvair seemed to pick up on your frustration, seeing you were growing annoyed at the lack of words in your arsenal ā the term you were looking for wasn't coming to mind. In response, he tilts his head to the side and asks you, āYou upset. Why?ā
āNot right words.ā You reply, brows furrowed when you look up at him, your gaze landing on the bloody bandages wrapped around his eyes. You turn your head to look down at the floor, the somewhat fresh pool of blood perfectly matching the color of the Rubikās Cube. You point to the puddle and turn to ask Mr. Silvair, āWhatās this called in your language? Can you tell me how to say this color?ā
āBlood.ā Mr. Silvair responds, not understanding what you wanted him to explain.Ā
āNo, no.ā You quickly reply, shaking your head. You continue to glance between him and the blood, enunciating your words even though he didnāt understand your language the same way you were able to understand his. You didnāt back down or give up, though, saying again, āThe color ā I want to know what color blood is.ā
He pauses, one hand under his chin as he seemingly takes a moment to figure out what you are asking him. After a few beats, Mr. Silvair replies with a word you havenāt heard anyone speak before, ā???ā
You visibly brighten at the new word, and the expression on your face causes Mr. Silvair to let out a light chuckle before he crosses one of his legs over the other. You take a breath before telling him, āOkay. Thank you.āĀ
After another pause, you continue to speak, āSoā¦ One part object done, red part. Other parts hard ā not finish.ā
Mr. Silvair had been leaning forward in his chair, his elbow digging into his knee while his hand rested under his chin, holding his head up as he stared at you with an unwavering gaze. He always listened to you with rapt interest, and you would be lying if you said the constant attention didnāt make your heart stutter in your chest. However, he suddenly speaks, pointing to the pool of blood you had been gesturing toward moments before, āWhat you call that?ā
āHuh?ā You ask, pausing your story to look at him. Mr. Silvair doesnāt say anything else, though, giving you a moment to comprehend what he has asked you. You perk up when your brain finally registers what Mr. Silvair had said, replying to him happily, āOh, thatās the color red. So, blood is typically red ā blood red.āĀ
āR-ehd?ā He echos, and the sound of his voice speaking a word that you were able to understand without having to flip through your mental dictionary had your breath hitching. It sounded so strange but so nice coming from his lips.Ā
āYeah, red! Blood is red!ā You say, sounding excited and oh-so happy. Mr. Silvair would be lying to himself if he said he didnāt find the look on your face and the tone of your voice endearing. Then, your expression shifts slightly as you lean forward in your chair, saying enthusiastically, āOh my god ā I just got an idea! Me teach you me language!ā
ā...You language?ā Mr. Silvair asks after a moment, shifting in his seat slightly.Ā
āYes! Me teach you!ā You reply, gesturing to both him and you with your hands. Your mind remembers the way Mr. Silvair and Mr. Chopped helped you shortly after you first arrived, teaching you directions to walk, facial expressions, and more. They had helped you expand your knowledge of this worldās language, and they were probably responsible for your survival in so many of those early interactions. So, you smile at him as you say, āWe same.ā
He returns a smile, nodding his head and replying with a simple, āOkay.ā
āAlright, so, let me think hereā¦ā You hum to yourself, leaning back in your chair and closing your eyes while you consider what you should start with. Body parts seemed to be the first thing that popped into your head, so thatās eventually what you decided to start with. Sitting up in the chair, you point toward your hand with the other, tapping a finger to your palm as you speak, āOkay, so, this is my hand ā hand. Can you say hand?ā
It was kind of cute, strangely enough, seeing Mr. Slivair take the time to repeat the word you spoke over and over in his mind, trying to match the movement of your mouth with his own. Your languages were quite different in sounds, syllables, and the like, so he was practicing what to say before actually speaking. After a few moments of contemplation, he replies, ā...H-ah-nd.ā
āHey, that was pretty good! Not bad for your first try, Mr. Silvair, even if the pronunciation is a bit off.ā You say with a wide smile, clapping your hands together as you applaud him on his efforts. He chuckles again, finding your way of teaching to beā¦ sweet.Ā
Then, you speak again, once again grabbing his attention. You tap the pad of your finger under the skin of your eye, asking him, āDo you remember what this is called? I think Iāve told you before.ā
Mr. Silvair is quicker in his response this time, having heard you ask him about his own eyes before as he smoothly says, āEye.āĀ
āYes! Good job!ā You praise once more, giving him a thumbs up in response. Then, he stands up from his seat, walking over to you while his once-white lab coat flows behind him. You crane your head back to look up at him from where you were still sitting, a simple and stupid, ā...Huh?ā leaving your mouth.Ā
Mr. Silvair reaches a hand to your face, cupping your chin gently in his hand. You feel his thumb resting on your bottom lip, and he begins to move his finger back and forth along the slightly chapped flesh, tugging at it slightly. He tilts his head to the side, asking you seriously, āWhat this called?ā
āOh, uhā¦ā You know your face is probably flushed beyond belief at this point if the heat cascading through your head is anything to go by, and your mind and heart are completely caught off-guard by his sudden touch and question. You avert your gaze to the side, swallowing harshly before you finally reply, āTheyāre my lips ā theyāre, ummā¦ similar to mouth. Lips, mouth, same.ā
ā...Lips?ā Mr. Silvair asks again for clarification, his voice having an almost husky tone to it that has a shiver travel down your spine.Ā
You nod in response, muttering a barely audible, āYesā¦āĀ
Mr. Silvair hums at your response, a small smile gracing his lips. He leans down, face so close to yours, before he inquires with an almost teasing tone to his voice, āYou want touch?ā
āY-Yes.ā You answer at an almost embarrassingly fast speed.Ā
The man who you had grown so fond of chuckles at your enthusiasm before leaning forward, pressing his lips softly to yours while he holds your face between his palms. Kisses werenāt a common thing between the two of you, and they were really only something Mr. Silvair initiated when he felt like it. You could feel the intensity at which your heart was beasting due to his sudden affections, and there was a part of you that was worried it would burst out of your chest right then and there.Ā
Your eyes flutter shut and you tilt your head to the side, your hands coming up to rest atop his ā his hands that were holding your cheeks so, so gently. It was almost sickening the way he was holding you like you could break at any moment.Ā
Then, almost as quickly as it began, the kiss ended before you even realized it did. Mr. Silvairās forehead was now pressed against yours, and he doesnāt make any move to remove his hands from your face. Your lips were no longer touching, and yet he still lingered.Ā Ā
Mr. Silvair didnāt play fair, you thought, yet you couldnāt help but wonder why he wanted to kiss you so suddenly, so randomly. You close your eyes and your brows furrow at the tightening in your throat, an aching sensation slowly spreading throughout your chest like a disease before you whisper, ā...I love you.ā
Thereās a silence, a stretch of nothingness before Mr. Silvair suddenly asks you, his voice just as soft as yours had been, āRepeat?ā
ā...No,ā Your response is nearly immediate, and you shake your head before repeating once more, āNothing.ā
ā...I love you.ā The sound of those three words leaving his lips nearly causes your mind to implode. It sounded so sweet, yet it also felt worse than any suffering you had experienced before. The searing and excruciating pain, the feeling of a blade digging itself into the flesh of your torso couldnāt compare to the deep-seated torment you felt right now.
Mr. Silvair hums, tilting his head to the side as his thumbs continue to caress your cheeks, āWhat mean?ā
You knew there was no point, no reason to try and explain your feelings again, but you do. You still do, even though you know itās pointless to try. You canāt bring yourself to look at him as you speak, finding the concrete floor more interesting, āMeanā¦ mean me like you. Lot like.ā
Thereās a pause, a moment of contemplation before Mr. Silvair says, ā...Not understand.ā
āI know.ā You reply, nodding your head once in response.Ā
āYou know?ā He asks you, sounding somewhat confused, a tone you very rarely heard from the man. You take a deep breath and turn around to face him, asking in such a small voice that it even caught yourself off-guard, ā...Why?ā
āI want you here.ā Mr. Silvair responds quickly, so quickly it seems to have taken both of you by surprise. The two of you stare at each other for a moment before he asks, finally releasing the material of your jacket from in between his fingers, āStayā¦ Will you stay?ā
You once again find yourself wondering if Mr. Silvair was aware of the effect he had on you as a sigh leaves your mouth. You nod your head lightly and reply, āI will stay.ā
āGood.ā He says in response, a gentle smile on his face as he says for the second time, āI love you.ā
You frown at him and shake your head, saying with a slight edge of frustration in your voice, āNo speak. Not true.āĀ
āTrueā¦ Believe true.ā He says quickly, reaching out to once again place a hand against your cheek. You donāt move, donāt flinch away from his touch ā you still relish the way heās holding you like a fragile piece of glass. Mr. Silvairās brows are furrowed ever so slightly as he mutters, āConfused.ā
āYouāre telling meā¦ How do you think I feel?ā You say with a huff, your hand holding into his as you find yourself nuzzling your nose into his palm. The painful feeling in your chest was still present, but it wasnāt nearly as excruciating as it had been now. You find it in yourself to smile, gazing up at him as you speak, ā...but weāll get through it together ā we together. Right?ā

i'm always a sucker for the take that Ford does love kids, he's just not the best caretaker. i mean, he's immediately delighted to learn he's an uncle in tale of two stans, and he loves spending time with Dipper and Mabel, he's just kind of dense.
i think aus where he gets to be a dad with Fiddleford are so cute. and so interesting to see how he'd handle it. people always seem to forget what a softie he can be
Oh yes! It kind of bugs me how a lot of people act like Ford is cold when he really isn't. There are lots of little examples of him being an absolute sweetheart. He talks a big game about being logical and suppressing fear etc, but he's a deeply emotional person, and that comes through in his more personal journal entries. He's not some heartless robot. He loves sharing his joy and excitement with the people close to him. He craves human connection even though he's bad at it. He gets attached to weird little creatures like Shifty, he loves his niece and nephew and is genuinely happy to meet them. Not to mention Ford loves weirdness and creativity and kids are the weirdest most creative demographic of people out there.
I don't think Ford dislikes kids at all. I think his lack of emotional intelligence and tendency to be lost in his own world makes him a questionable caretaker. Not through apathy or malice, he's just kind of bad with kids. Making him a father is really interesting for this reason because I'm confident he'd love the shit out of his kids, but learning how to respond appropriately to their needs, keep them safe, and pay attention consistently when needed, would all be things he'd struggle with.
Ford also says as much in his journal that he didn't want to settle down and "start a family". I don't think he ever saw kids of his own as part of his future nor do I think he'd ever consciously choose to have them. That said these are the words of a young Ford with grand ambitions that children would have potentially gotten in the way of. I also think the way he shuts down the idea of "starting a family" is a response to the social pressure to get straight married which is also not something he would have wanted. I mean look how well that worked out for Fidds :/
But Ford's whole character arc is about humbling himself. Learning to let go of this fantasy of some grand destiny and find joy in just living life with the people he cares about. He learns to accept the love of others and to love himself without needing to prove anything.
Pictured above, is a combination of sleep deprivation and those little moments when you're a new parent and it dawns on you yet again that suddenly you have this tiny little human who's who world depends on you. That mix of fear and awe and overwhelming love that hits you in waves and turns your brain into mush for a moment.
Nik and Newt force Ford to put someone else over himself, forcing him to reassess his priorities much sooner.
Also I know this one wasn't really an ask but I really wanted to draw something for you because it was soooooo good seeing a real ask in my inbox. I would absolutely love to answer any asks people have about this AU. I'd love to draw more of Ford, Fidds, Stan, and the twins but it gets hard to decide what to draw with so many ideas in my brain. By all means, send me asks or suggestions for drawings and I'll do my best to respond to all of them.

The more I sit on it, the more obvious and blatant it is that Veilguard transferred over so many tidbits from Mass Effect over to Dragon Age IP (which is a BAD thing, because I loved Dragon Age in part because it did not play or function like Mass Effect). There is a reason why I never gave much of a damn about my Shepherds in Mass Effect. They were already an accomplished soldier of the Alliance. There is no deviation from that. All you can do is choose whether to be a nice or mean soldier in all three games. Your ābackgroundā chosen in ME 1 plays no huge part in how the world interacts with you because you are ultimately defined by two things that remain universal among all players: You are human, and you are a soldier.
That is how Rook is. You are a Chaotic Good that was being held back by your superiors because you went Top Gun on a mission + you are most definitely going to help Varric out because youāre best friends. The core of your personality is set in stone at the start of the game. Because you work with Varric you canāt be mean or evil because he wouldnāt want to work with such a person, I suppose. Contrast this with the Hero of Fereldan who can be an absolute bastard because the reason for being recruited by Duncan actually ties to their racial/class background and demonstrates how Hero =/= Good. This is scaled back a lot with the Inquisitor but there is still dialogue highlighting your race/class choice and some ruthless decisions (sacrificing the Chargers, letting Celene die).
Rook operates as an unholy melding of the Mass Effect Shepard circumstances and an even worsely executed Hawke (Hawke could at least be ruthless and callous to people and spit on their companionsā feelings with the utmost venom), and it creates this hollow avatar that is just.. ineffectually inoffensive. Theyāre a good guy who is doing the good thing for good reasons. No nuance, no friction, no doubts or opportunities to take on a āby any means necessary, fuck everyoneās feelingsā or āactually we should burn this whole world down, Iām kind of agreeing with Solas hereā (you were able to side with Meredith in DA2 for Godās sake). Even IF data shows that people donāt pick evil/mean dialogue options much of the time, most people want that opportunity for certain opportunities. Maybe they dislike a particular NPC, maybe they really do want to do a bastard run, maybe they want to RP a character who is an asshole and becomes good over the course of the gameās events or vice versa. Why deny us those opportunities?
Rook's backgrounds make no sense or gatekeeping is good, actually
It's didn't sit well with me ever since bioware admitted that all 6 background for Rook can be played by any race you choose
Looking back at Origins it's clear why most of the backgrounds were race-specific. Not only it provided a better understanding of the separate cultures (you wouldn't really understand what dwarfs are about if you were able to play as a surface dwarf commoner) it also established the rules of the world (elves are opressed, you can't become a queen/king cuz the nobles will riot, humans colonize them and inforce their religion and rules on everyone, dwarfs are considered weird)
Now, looking at the veilguard, I can't help but ask:
How can a fully grown dalish with vallaslin be a crow? They buy slaves as a way to get more assassins, usually elves, children, so they could easier ruin their psyche. why the hell would a dalish stand for it?
How can a qunari be a Gray Warden? Wardens don't discriminate, sure, but this far, we haven't even heard of a qunari warden. Rook should be a legend, Rook should be questioned at actually being a warden by NPCs, OR sit in some Warden outpost and being studied by their mages, because no one actually knows how Blight and joining might work with Kossith body instead of running around with Varric.
Veiljumpers were organized by dalish, right? Then why in the world would a human be allowed to join? How and why did they change their minds to accept literally anyone, even if it's a potential threat/thief(Morrigan)/zealot/etc..?
How can a dwarf, someone who isn't even connected to the fade be a Veiljumper?
How can a dwarf be a part of the Mourn Watch? A Mortalitasi, an exclusively MAGE order? What can they even do?? Preform a non magical mummifications with herbs and salts like Egyptians did? Sweep the mausoleum? Be some sort of a funeral organizer/lawyer/genealogist? That could've been really interesting if only the game actually bothered to say anything about it. It did not
"Well it's up to your headcanons!" then why make the backgrounds in the first place??? They don't matter anyway!
I mean, obviously it was just a way to promote the game to older fans. Look, the backstories! The thing you've been craving for is back in game! Only they forgot what actually made them so great. The most important part. They mattered, they created a basis for my character. They gave them families, connections. They changed the way my character is perceived (elves in general) and what they can do plotwise (become a monarch/paragon).
I don't fucking care if 3-5 NPCs might have some additional dialogues for me, cuz they don't matter anyway. I don't even know these people, i never met them before, my character did, but I didn't. And now I don't care enough to know. like, i'm playing as a mourn watcher, but before going to Nevarra i barely knew anything about them, and what i know now is still rather surface level shit
Let alone the fact that all the backgrounds are practically the same. You pissed off some influencial people by doing good and was send away. Bravo.

YET MORE SONIC THEORIES/RAMBLINGS!
So I've seen this piece of early concept art from the 2005 Shadow game floating around, and it's really piqued my interest.
This piece seemingly depicts Gerald Robotnik as a major antagonist alongside his grandson Eggman, rather than the Black Arms aliens.
We also see that Gerald isn't wearing his signature glasses and seems to have a metal plate grafted to his head, possibly alluding to how he might have survived his apparent execution at the hands of G.U.N.
In the scenario provided by this early concept, we would essentially have two "Robotnik's" running around: Eggman, a bombastic, childish megalomaniac, and Gerald, a more reserved, sinister madman out to destroy the earth rather than conquer it.
Now why does this setup sound so eerily familiar?
Because, yes, we got basically that in Sonic Rush, with the introduction of Dr. Eggman's twisted doppelganger Eggman Nega.
It should be noted that Gerald and Nega have certain similarities, most obviously their greying mustaches and shared resemblance to Eggman, but Nega, much like Gerald at the end of his life, is also someone who has descended into madness and has deeply sinister intentions, up to and including the destruction of the world.
So yeah, my theory is that the concept of Eggman Nega evolved from this early idea of Gerald somehow being revived to wreak havoc in the modern day, and this recently uncovered piece of concept art could be a missing link of sorts between the 2005 Shadow game and Sonic Rush.
The kicker here is that both games were in development around the same time. They even released in the same month! On the same day even!
I just can't get this idea out of my head, and I keep thinking about all of the interesting character interactions that scenario would provide! I would very much love to see how both Shadow and Eggman would confront Gerald, a man who was once so beloved by both characters in their own way, after he's fallen so far into despair and vengeance-fueled madness.
Almost makes the character of Eggman Nega feel a little underwhelming in hindsight, like a safer, more sanitized version of the revived Gerald concept.
But could this also mean that Gerald would have stuck around to become a reoccurring antagonist? Was the plot of Sonic Rush originally going to be a follow-up to the Shadow game, with Eggman joining forces with Gerald?? Maybe not, considering both games were released simultaneously. But still interesting to think about.
That said, I'm ultimately glad they went in a different direction with the Shadow game and introduced Shadow's freaky alien heritage. And yet I'm still so fascinated by what might have been. Ah well.

One underrated aspect of Mouthwashing is that it's really good as a video game.
I thought the player feedback was super strong. There's so many little gimmicky nightmare worlds and "minigames" and the game really helps you understand them very quickly and keep up the momentum. There were only a couple times I got stuck for long enough that I felt like it was breaking me out of the narrative, and I was able to resolve them pretty quickly. And one of them was my own fault - I was trying to use an item somewhere the devs had already indicated it was impossible, because I forgot about the little framing that pops up to indicate you can go into "interaction mode". That's a great little UI mechanism for making it super obvious what is and isn't interactive while still being unobtrusive and letting you feel immersed in the ship environment. Oh, and using the birthday cake scene to introduce the sawing mechanic? So when the player saws at Curly's leg, it's an incredibly powerful callback and the player already knows what they're supposed to do, defending the emotional punch from a "wait... which buttons am I supposed to press for this...?" moment? Brilliant.
Mouthwashing also has beautiful interplay between its gameplay elements and its storytelling. I think of Mouthwashing as "movie-like", because I feel like the pacing + tone + themes remind me very much of horror movies, but this story is meant to be a game. Think of the scene where Jimmy is basically telling Curly that he intends to destroy the ship. It starts with the player controlling Curly in first person POV. But right as Jimmy is talking about how Curly doesn't have agency in his own life ("You're standing at the top. Feet in cement. I get it now.") the camera escapes Curly's perspective and moves into a third person perspective, giving us our first look at pre-crash Captain Curly.
That was the last moment Curly had to avert the tragedy. He knew Jimmy had attacked Anya. Anya told Curly that Jimmy must be physically prevented from accessing the means to hurt the rest of the crew. Jimmy said it would be best if they all just died and then walked away saying "I'll take care of it" and Curly stood there watching him and did nothing. In chronological order, the next scene is the first time the player controls Jimmy. The agency and control, the status of "player character", has left Curly. He let himself become a character in Jimmy's story. And by the time he gets control again, it's already too late.
(Not that I think the game is actually presenting "player character" status as something that's true or real. Look how much Anya's internal life and deliberate choices shape the story, before and after the crash, even as Jimmy casts her as an annoying quest-giver NPC.)
I also really like how much playing through the little nightmare vignettes have the player recreate Curly and Jimmy's decisions. Like when Jimmy is forced to stare directly at the post-it note that's telling him to take responsibility (or whatever the exact words are), but he simply backs away from it. It's all about the way he finds mental and emotional loopholes to get away from what he's done, no matter how directly he's forced to confront it. What other medium could so intimately guide you through that metaphor, to express its internal logic so clearly without words? God, I love video games.

My love for sentient entertainment animatronics is one that will forever remain unshaken. Cade E Cherrypop is the sentient android mascot of Cade E Arcade! (Thx to the new chibi preset by @sdmsims, another little mascot will be along shortly as a friend)
After society collapses due to a zombie-apocalypse-plus, the arcade falls into ruin, and Cade E eventually reawakens in the ruins in her second withered form, sun-bleached, dirty and damaged.
Xelleen Wisher
Xelleen Wisher's a gaming streamer in this world's analog to Twitch! Despite his anxiety disorder, he does his best to put up an optimistic and energetic persona for his audience. He really loves cute things, especially cats and small collectibles! He's also very, very good at videogames, dabbling in speed runs and challenge runs.
Xelleen was created by me as a very positive character. He combines physical traits that are painted as a stereotypical "neckbeard" image (acne, overweightness) with features of the "gamergirl" aesthetic (cute clothes, makeup, lots of pink.) He stands as his own person, defined by neither stereotype.
The bottom/last pic of the three shows his face without his makeup on!!
Steelie Buzzkill
(Wouldn't Be Possible Without @sdmsims's Anime Mod!!!)
Ordered as an Incarnate (an Incarnate is a special type of android commissioned to be a real-word version of a fictional character) of somebody's OC, Steelie's shipment was intercepted after the law recognizing android sentience was passed. His company dumped him and his peers on the side of the road near a rural town.
Since he was freed before artificial memories were programmed into him, he doesn't know what character he's intended to be, and he really doesn't WANT to know.
He works at IHopTopic, the compound store that exists because in this universe, IHop and Hot Topic had some sort of business deal from hell that led to a combined location.
(Between you and me, his design SOMEBODY's fannon ship child OC, but I won't say more than that, nor do the medias his parents are from exist irl.)
The rest will just be character images with short descriptions. I'll likely make individual posts later on going in more depth!!

Honestly, the drama weirdly gave me the courage to finally make a Hogwarts Legacy blog today (and just an account on Tumblr in general) after debating it for months.
(Now, Iām not educated on what the drama is, so Iām just spilling my thoughts out of context)
Iāve been a lurker since September, which is when my obsession with the game started. A lot of the fandoms I have been a part of in the past have always had some negativity around them for various reasons, but in a way it always makes me more passionate about the fandoms I love.
Iām not saying the drama, hate, and shaming is a good thing, (Thatās not what Iām saying AT ALL) but what I will say is that when people come around and try to bully me for my interests, it always inspires me to keep doing what Iām doing. Because at the end of the day, theyāre my characters from my favorite media. If they donāt like it, they can just move on. And if not? Well, thatās why we set boundaries with the block button.
Fandom is meant to be fun, but there will always be people who try to ruin it. Taking a break from a fandom if you need it is always a good option if it will help you (and itās something Iāve done a few times over! And recently too with other fandoms). But for those who decide to stay, let me be the first to say there will always be people out there who appreciate what youāre doing, regardless of how many likes or followers you have. Even if haters try to bring you down. And if the only person who is loving your work is you? Well enjoy that! Thatās why we create after all. To have fun with ourselves and escape from the world for a bit. Just like OP said, this fandom is for everyone to brain rot together and just enjoy a common interest as a community. Thatās why I made my account in the first place. To meet people and share my art because I love being creative and seeing others be creative too!
Again, I donāt really know what happened to make the Hogwarts Legacy fandom so divided lately, (the context escapes me), so maybe what I said here isnāt relevant, but regardless, hereās the bottom line:
Donāt be a jerk to people simply because they have a different perspective on canon lore, characters, etc, or because you donāt think their art, writing, and edits are not as good as yours. Itās not cool. Just block if you see something you donāt like. No need to start unnecessary drama. And if someone is being a bully to you because of your interpretation, then do what you need to do in order to make the fandom fun for you again. Whether that means taking a break, blocking a bunch of people, or continuing to post. You will always have the good side of the community to come back to, even if it takes time.
All of you are so talented and amazing. We will get through this together š

I am so fucking fed up with this fandom & honestly it makes me lose any desire to post anything here anymore.
So many people here look at EVERYTHING as a damn competition and itās NOT. It should be a place for people to brainrot together, talk about theories, and enjoy seeing what other people draw and write etc. Have I sometimes felt insecure bc I donāt get as many notes as other people?! Yes of courseā¦but I always focus on the connections and the lovely people Iāve met and like talking to bc thatās why I post in the first place. I didnāt spend 4 months posting my fic to 10 kudos and 1 comment with basically no feedback bc I care about popularityšš
Iāve never been part of a fandom before this one but honestly everything feels so immature here, especially lately. Is it NORMAL to send hate to people who interpret the characters differently than you?! Or send hate to people who ship something you donāt like???? Is it NORMAL to start a confessions blog thatās for people to vague post about others & give everyone reading it anxiety??? (And NO, itās not āleveling the playing fieldā wtf). Is it NORMAL to be so close minded, that youāre always trying to start shit with other people?!!??
It is SO FUCKING EXHAUSTING & honestly I try my hardest to NOT feed into any negativity and Iāve never posted the hate Iāve gotten because quite frankly, itās ridiculous.
I genuinely love seeing what all of you post and always try to comment when I have the mental energy, because I love having a sense of community and youāre all very talented.

This was a fun episode, I loved it!! Seeing my boys is always a plus and I appreciate the return of some side characters. With how the world is right now, I really needed this episode. So, thanks Team, for keeping my spirits up.
I just enjoyed watching my silly little guys doing silly little adventures. Traffic is a nightmare so I don't blame Mario in the slightest. Anyway, 3 and 4, how was your date? /silly
Can we just talk about the animation? It was so good!!! You really see the quality they put in, especially in that fighting scene. I didn't expect MARTY of all people to be the cause of all this. I honestly thought it was going to be a gag of something harmless just being in the middle of the road for no reason (like a turtle or smth) and the Crew being like "ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME?!" but NOPE, Marty was here and apparently A SORCERER?! I really shouldn't be surprised, what am I talking about here. And ofc the OG duo immediately beating the shit out of him is so fucking funny to me. He didn't die (I know that), but he's definitely going to be more relevant in the future.

SMG4 show and jokes aside, I hope you all are ok. No matter what happens, we'll stick together. Don't give them the satisfaction that they want. You aren't alone, and we'll keep on fighting.
Going to be a Sonic fan here, Sonic 06 is famously known to be... augh. But there is a good moment with Shadow that I think is relevant now:
Mephiles (the villain of the game): "It's futile. The world will betray you. Why fight at all? Why risk your life for those who will persecute you later?" Shadow: "If the world chooses to become my enemy, I will fight like I always have."

1. ...the moment in the story that I started shipping my OTP from this world.
That whole scene where Rio blows in the door at just the most dramatic moment and the following throwdown fight made me pay attention. But this sentence? This sentence was a direct hit to alllllll my weaknesses.
It immediately gave me so much delicious information. Like, despite all that 'I want to see you burn... or hang... or drown' aggression? that this woman clearly was utterly gone for Agatha.
*be still, my beating heart š*
17. ...the world-building aspect of the story I have the greatest admiration for.
That SONG. I adore the way they used The Ballad of the Witches' Road in this show in so many ways. The way we kept getting different versions and the way they were so slightly and significantly different based on the purpose behind that particular version.
Like how the Sacred Chant version was all about the community of witches (and the way that hid the trap Agatha had used for centuries).
The way Lorna's version was full of a mother's unconditional love for her daughter and the lengths she'd go to for that love.
The way Nicky and Agatha's version was about their coven of two (and how even while Nicky was alive, the way Agatha had already kinda corrupted it even as her love for her son remained the one true thing about her).
Just. The way the song informed every aspect of the story... it's frankly incredibly impressive.
Ship:
7. ...the scene that I like to point to as proof that they're perfect for each other.
I could probably choose literally ANY of their scenes to make that particular point but I really like this one.
Like. Agatha has been angry and avoiding Rio for centuries. Rio has recently made it clear she wants Agatha dead (though admittedly knowing her nature this is basically at least 70% her wanting Agatha back).
But despite that, as soon as they know they have to do this particular ritual both of them know THEY are going to be the ones exchanging the brooms. They don't need to talk about it, or discuss it, or consider it, it's just... instinctual.
They are just always on the same wavelengths and it's both beautiful and really tragic.
10. ...rate the level of stupid they reach in their pining.
I mean... *murder threats* followed by...
*Agatha trying to claw Rio's face off* followed by...
*Rio painfully reminded Agatha she's never going to get her son back, a day ago* followed by...
*Rio saying she HATES ghosts* followed by...
(obviously not... no, she took a calculated risk on being able to continue irritating Rio for the next eternity).
Also just... we have one case of a dum-dum who fell in love with the literal embodiment of death. And another case of a literal embodiment of death who turned full dum-dum because she met a very pretty witch.
They're SUCH dumb. I love these pining idiots SO MUCH.

This is really boring of me maybe, but like.... how do you top a badass show-stopping moment like THAT?

This scene just... shows that Billy doesn't just remind Agatha of her son... he reminds her of herself.
At the end of the day Agatha is a survivor, and so is Billy. And that both connects and differentiate them. And I just find that very interesting.
8. ...a headcanon I have about this character.

Rio absolutely lied about being pulled onto the Road by their summoning spell. She's Death, she could have shaken that thing off with the flick of a pinky but was she really going to waste an opportunity that good?
