jayvik shippers PLEASE be normal about Mel & Sky challenge, part 2, difficulty rating: (impossible)

My, my.

So, apparently, in the HotD universe, “good, pious” Alicent has not only been rubbing her feet for Larys’ pleasure, but she has also been sleeping with Cole behind her husband’s back.

And she had the absolute nerve to judge Rhaenyra, claim that she has done only what was asked of her, and stand in front of Rhaenys, telling her that Rhaenyra “cuckolded” Laenor.

That character is so pathetic…reeks of hypocrisy. Condal and Hess have made her absolutely unbearable to tolerate even as a villain.

And what about Ser Crispy? Didn’t they attempt to whitewash him by blaming “guess who” for “coercing him” into bed (yeah, his smile while doing it more than proved that he was doing it against his will 😆)?

How many times did he break that meaningless vow of his? It’s hard to keep track. And what now? Is he also going to blame “his moment of weakness” on Alicent like he did with Rhaenyra? My guess is…no.

So, we have a “queen mother” who is supposed to be in mourning for her husband, sleeping around with a Kingsguard who had taken a vow of celibacy (and in turn not supposed to be sleeping with anyone). Wasn’t Crispy supposed to be watching/protecting the people he works for (and not f*cking them)? How did this guy remain employed for so long???

So, the rules of propriety don’t really apply to them, do they?

What was that saying about “rules for thee but not for me”? That should be the Greens’ motto.

The showrunners do love turning this whole thing in the Young and the Restless.

Reasons why I believe this isn't a final Death

denial

There's a couple parallels between Tech's death and Echo's supposed death. First of all, we don't see a body in either case. Not Echo's and also not Tech's. We do see Echo's charred helmet and we see Tech's broken goggles later on. The team also had to leave right away in both cases, otherwise they would've been captured/killed. And they both sacrificed themselves for the team. If Echo didn't die, then why should Tech?

Denial

All that character building this season. Like of that was for nothing, then that was terrible writing. If that was to make us more attached to Tech so that his death hurt more, that is also terrible writing. I mean, he got a whole ass lovestory-in-the-making and that's the character you'll kill off?? c'mon. just as he was learning more about people and showing affection and social interaction, and learning how to properly and respectfully communicate with Omega??? that's when you kill him off? c'mon.

DENIAL

The fact that it was Hemcock that found him. You know the guy who does experiments on clones? Why lose such a valuable test subject? if there were any signs of life from Tech, he must've saved him, if only to use him and maybe modify him (again, Echo parallels)

I feel because of Jinx and Viktor’s popularity in fandom (having some of the most annoying fans in Arcane fandom) and the attention they receive in the show itself, people forget/don’t realise how bad they were done by the writers in s2

#saying this as someone who had thought jayce was reasonable for killing viktor in s2 #the way they stripped all nuance from viktor’s actions and made jayce 100% right and the arcane/glorious evolution instead of highly flawed #and morally dubious/neutral #into just bad and wrong(tm)#was weird. it was weird.#i don’t want to compare to league because i do think adaptations should be judged on themselves for the most part #and i’m not too familiar.#but i think the ending should have been left open. like let piltover and zaun still be at war and the characters finding their place in that #also escalation from misguidedly transforming unwitting but willing people to viktor just deciding to turn everyone into an emotionless robo #was weird too #someone smarter than me do a deep dive idek #everyone became a centrist when faced with the true enemy; extremist zaunite (but like not even for zaun)#its not that i wanted viktor to be innocent. his actions in act 2 were morally dubious and he was destined to become darker and more extreme #but the way they did it was weird #and the way they resolved his character. it just feel so half-assed if you look past how emotionally charged and beautiful it was #do not even get me started on jinx… the ‘jinx is alive’ theory better be real because that’s the only way to salvage her character #but like i think they handled her character terribly for all of act 3 #i think ekko and mel were done dirty in the way characters like lucas in st were. but i won’t get into that rn #jayce and vi also kinda felt reduced to their relationships…#arcane s2 act 3 #arcane critical #arcane criticism #arcane #arcane season 2 #arcane s2 #viktor arcane #viktor #jinx arcane #jinx

Cause Jayce's bisexuality is getting erased by the Jayvik fans. 😑 (I swear it was the exact same problem with Meljay, people insisting that Jayce is not gay. Now, they're doing it the other way around and pretending like he only tolerated her. Which is insane).

Like bisexual people are fictional characters and it is IMPOSSIBLE for people to love more than one person.

Even if you don't ship MelJayVik, saying that Jayce at no point loved Mel? That his feelings for her were not real??? Whaaaat?

Fought so hard just to win and lose at the same time. Cause yeah, people now agree that Jayce is in love with Viktor.......and now they're erasing Mel.

Yeah, she's REFLECTING all the LOVE that Jayce feels for HER and PROVING that he feels it for Viktor TOO!! Mel is not a replacement Viktor, they look nothing like, they act nothing alike. 😭 They are two different and yet similar people and he loved them BOTH!

People really took "Mel is an empath" and ran with it right into the ditch.
