I think we a group need to consider what the early “zero waste” movement did in the 2010s. You know. They’d keep “all” their waste in a glass jar, live in a nice apartment somewhere in LA where they had easy access to a refill store and didn’t stop to consider that just existing in the US creates waste they couldn’t see.
I remember watching a video in 9th grade (around 2013) about a chick who did that and even then I was like “that’s bullshit” and it really turned me off the zero waste movement.
The inherent classism of a lot of zero waste purists created a wall between me and them, where instead of them admitting their privilege, they simply said “anyone can do this”. Most people can’t. A zero waste refill store does not exist in my state! Sure, I could try online but this is 1. More expensive- something my dirt poor family could not do at the time and 2. Creates more carbon emissions!
This isn’t to say zero waste is bad- it’s simply a standard most Americans can’t reach. I think this is why I’m so drawn to solarpunk, because I think solarpunk recognizes the classism that is in a lot of eco-friendly products and movements (something I do think is being addressed- I’ve seen more affordable products now than I did in high school). Solarpunk includes diy- reusing packaging that many of us still have to buy because we can’t afford the eco-friendly version.

#Also I'm sorry the vegan one is bullshit just on the face of it#Being vegan (in the us) isn't more environmentally friendly when you consider food production#Like not to the amount everyone thinks it is#Bc all the stuff about livestock producing more carbon emissions than plants just goes off like the production#It doesn't look into transportation which is a huge emissions for both things#Also you know what else produces carbon emissions?#Rotting produce#Do you know what livestock eats? Produce waste that humans don't eat#Like soy skins and corn stalks#Do you really think agriculture companies are going to invest in ways to get rid of that waste with no emissions?#No if there was no livestock to eat it'd get thrown in a landfill and rot#Like all the stuff where ppl are like cows eat so much human food it's such a waste#I think it's like 80-90% of an average cows diet is things humans can't eat#Pigs are the ones eating a lot of stuff humans can eat but they also dispose of crop waste#Not to mention the way crops are being farmed is legitimately depleting the earth of viable soil and water#Yes animals drink water too but like why do I never see ppl talking about that part???#Almost the ENTIRETY of food production in the United States is unsustainable environmentally#You can't save the earth by going vegan#If it makes you feel better that's great but I wonder why the here's something you as an individual can do to help the environment!#Is the thing everyone wants to focus on rather than the#'We need to completely change almost all current structures to not burn the planet' idea that is just categorically what we need to do#It's almost like focusing on individual action and not group work is the whole problem with western views of the green movement#Anyway#Don't Even get me started on pesticide and fertilizer use and how bad that is for the environment#Like if you focus on carbon emissions yeah meat is worse than plants for the environment#But like that's not the only factor

I've been thinking about angsty things a bit. say if, reader got pregnant, would she hate it? how would scara/childe react? in my opinion, id like to think that scara thinks of this as a way to tie her down to him more, plus its canon he likes kids!! and as for childe i think he'd be very very happy since he has soooo many siblings, (maybe he wants a lot of kids too??)
and..what if reader miscarried? i have this thought of where scara would still be cold to her but give her breaks and more space than usual, but what if reader completely locks herself in and then when he confronts her about it they get into a huge argument, how would scara tackle that, would he resort to abusive tactics and would it increase readers hatred & distance more?

A week late turned into two. Two turned into a month. A month turned into three. And three turned into unusual cravings for foods that didn't go together. Sickness and vomiting clouded the hours of your mornings. Dread filled your body the second you realized what this was. Stress makes your cycles late, you told yourself, stress makes your entire body change, and this was a stressful situation, but stress wasn't causing this, was it?
Scaramouche could tell the changes in you immediately. As someone who constantly kept tabs on your life, it was only fair to assume that he'd noticed your slight fluctuation in weight and lack of asking for your monthly cloths. When you were called into his office, you felt a hot flash all over your body, you assumed it was fear, but it could've also been nausea.
His office was a place filled with dread. The air in the room was too thick and worst of all, he was there. The room made you feel small, the only good thing about it was that he was usually too focused on his mile high stacks of paperwork. Except today. Today his razor sharp gaze was focused on your trembling form as you bowed to him, his eyes following down, then back up.
“Answer me honestly,” he began, hands planted on the wood in front of him, “Are you with child?”
If you could throw up again, you would. Of course, you knew all this time, but you never wanted to say it. You hoped, just hoped and prayed that maybe if you never acknowledged it, it would all go away. It would all be a bad dream. But it was true. There was something disgusting living inside you. And it was his.
“I believe so, my lord,” the words couldn't even completely fall from your lips before you were a blubbering, sobbing mess of anguish and fear. Despite the fact that you were completely breaking down before him, he had a small smile on his face, like he was proud of what he'd done to you.
“That's good,” he said calmly, wiping away your tears and planting a forced kiss upon your face. His touch felt cold as ice, but his hands against you made you want to melt your skin away.
The reaction to the “good news” was immediate, whether that was good or bad was up in the air, but everything changed. The tight obi of all the kimono you owned would put too much pressure on your budding stomach, new one's were ordered to be ready as you grew more in size. Your diet was changed completely, less of the Inazuma raw delicacies and more lean meat and vegetables. Daily classes of calligraphy and tea ceremonies were switched to resting with your feet up or light stretching, everything to keep you happy and healthy during your pregnancy.
The biggest change was Scaramouche himself. A man filled with so much hatred and disgust, was suddenly being kinder. Or trying to at least. You watch him open his mouth to make a comment, only to shut it again in favor of saying something still rude, but less insulting.
The Scaramouche that believed that he could take your body whenever he pleased was long gone, even though that was what got you in this predicament in the first place. He'd taken to leaving you in the middle of the night and going to the bathroom to sate his urges. He'd come back with cold damp hands and lay next to you, a protective hand over your stomach as he kissed your cheek and told you how much he loved you.
The day you saw blood between your legs and felt an aching pain in your stomach was a joyous one indeed. A part of you wanted to scream out in glee, but you didn't want to wake your already on edge husband. The blood that coated your fingers could only mean one thing. One good thing. It was gone. You were free of it. Almost immediately, the dark air that seemed to linger over your body vanished and you let out a sigh of relief.
Scaramouche was informed shortly before breakfast that same morning. You relayed the information to a maid, who then told him, whispering the words in his ear so quietly, it sounded like she was speaking gibberish. His face, his expression, changed to one shock, then horror, then pain. You didn't even know he could make such a face, yet there he was with tears in his eyes.
“Wh-what happened?” There was that tone again. The one you were used to. The anger and distaste for you in his voice. He slammed his fist down on the desk, turning his head away from you as his voice became high and breathy, so desperate for answers, “What did I do wrong?”
You stood in his office awkwardly, even this display from a person you hated, this display of agony was hurting you as well. You thought it would be funny. Seeing the man who pulled you from your home and forced you into marriage in pain was supposed to make you happy, but you felt your own chest clenching, felt your hands tremble.
“I-i suppose…I was stressed, my lord,” you muttered, his already labored breaths hitching at those words. The few months you were carrying that thing inside your body, was when he asked for less from you. He expected you to laze around all day and relax. For your body to fall into a daze like trance of naps and delicious food. He wanted happiness for both you and his child that you carried, yet you were still the most stressed you'd ever been in your entire life, knowing that he had something inside you. Something that would continue to fester and grow, until it eventually ate you alive.
He sat back in his office chair dejected, hurt, and empty. Scaramouche's normally sharp, glaring eyes were wide as he stared at the ceiling, body limp as he bit his lip, “Leave me,” he sighed, his voice barely above a whisper. Had it not been for the quietness of the room, you wouldn't have heard him.
Leave him you did, closing the door as silently as possible and not lingering behind. You felt yourself finally stop tensing, telling yourself that all your woes were over, for now. The thing was gone. You were happy. For once, even if unintentionally, you'd won over your captor.

Shatabhisha- Stuck in a loop!?⭕️

Ruled by Rahu and situated in a sign governed by Saturn, Shatabhisha Nakshatra intertwines the themes of Rahu and Saturn.
Rahu represents obsession, addiction, perfectionism, illusion, desires, and the material world. Saturn, on the other hand, symbolizes restriction, ambition, delays, and discipline. This nakshatra is intriguing to observe because Saturn is often seen as the only planet capable of controlling and restricting Rahu. Addiction is a recurring theme for those heavily influenced by Shatabhisha Nakshatra.
Rahu, symbolizing the insatiable head/mouth, constantly seeks satisfaction. People with strong Shatabhisha influence may struggle with feeling perpetually unfulfilled.

The main symbol of Shatabhisha is an empty closed circle, representing restriction, karma, and limits. ⭕️

Another example that comes to mind is Emily Blunt, who has her Sun in Shatabhisha, fittingly playing a role in “Edge of Tomorrow” that mirrors the themes of this nakshatra, as well.
In the film, her character, Sergeant Rita Vrataski, helps Major William Cage (Tom Cruise) break free from a time loop by repeatedly facing and overcoming challenges. Rita’s journey in the movie reflects the Shatabhisha themes of perseverance, healing and ultimately, breaking the cycle to achieve a greater purpose.

Dealing with Rahu's influence can lead to excess, a desire to experience, feel everything or nothing.
However, understanding one's restrictions and seeing the bigger picture can bring freedom. Recognizing and accepting personal limitations allows one to channel obsessive desires into sustaining something meaningful in the material world.
By acknowledging and respecting these restrictions, individuals can transform Rahu's chaotic energy into focused ambition and disciplined action, leading to significant achievements and personal growth.

Bearded dragon substrate, humidity, and diet.
Inspired by @kaijutegu's recent post, let’s talk about calcium sand.
So, calcium sand, and substrate in general, has been attributed to impaction in bearded dragons (and other reptiles, but for this post, we’re just focusing on dragons.) However, while some substrates are more natural choices than others, and as such are more digestible, substrate itself is typically not the root cause of impaction. Improper husbandry such as dehydration, improper lighting, diet and supplementation all negatively impact the digestive system as well as the body in general, and the problems only compact when these factors are stacked together.
Firstly, lets look at a bearded dragons natural habitat. This video courtesy of the veterinarian Jonathon Howard, known online as the Beardie Vet, shows the texture of the substrate that wild dragons live on. The sand is loose on top but packed underneath. The grain size is about 96% fine sand.
Next, lets look at this map.

This map courtesy of Claire Jaworski overlays wild bearded dragon sightings from iNaturalist over a soil composition map of Australia. Note how many of the sightings are found in Calsisol zones. Calsisol (also known as calcarosol) zones are characterized by containing 15% or more calcium carbonate. We know that bearded dragons engage in geophagy, or intentionally eating substrate. This is likely a natural behavior that they would perform in the wild to fulfill their biological need for calcium. We provide calcium as a supplement so that they do not perform this behavior in captivity (however this is not the only vitamin we should be providing!!!)

Next we should consider humidity, as there is not much standing water in their natural habitat, as well as diet, which they also obtain water from.
Contrary to popular belief, the natural habitat of bearded dragons has a very wide range of humidity, both throughout the day and throughout the year. When they are found basking, the humidity typically ranges between 10-30%. However, the morning after rain can be around 60%.

According to these maps, which measured the humidity of Australia over the course of 30 years, many dragons would be found in areas that range between 50-70% humidity in the morning and 20-40% at 3 in the afternoon.
It is also important to note that dragons are frequently found in burrows when not out and about. In these burrows, the humidity can be higher than the surrounding air.
As far as diet, this entire post is just a fantastic resource, again, courtesy of the Beardie Vet. In the wild, adult female dragons would be ingesting 48% plant matter in their diet, with males ingesting 68%. As far as moisture content, “Most plants/herbs are around 85% water – herbage 80% water, flowers observed eating >90% water; Insects are about 65% water – Termites 60% water, crickets 67% water.”
Bearded dragons, while they do not spend a lot of time drinking, are dependent on both the natural humidity cycle and their diet to stay hydrated. It is not natural to maintain a humidity of 30% or lower all year round, and compounded with poor diet and lack of access to water, can lead to dehydration, which in turn disrupts the digestive system’s ability to do its job.
So let's bring it back. Bearded dragons are naturally found on substrate with calcium in it. If you look at Zoomed or Fluker’s calcium supplement, for example, you will see that they are calcium carbonate. If you look at the ingredients for T-Rex, RepTerra or Komodo’s calcium sand, all are made with the exact same calcium carbonate.

So what’s the problem? The problem is, in the absence of poor husbandry, the ratio. Remember that Calsisol is 15% or more calcium carbonate. Well, most bags of calcium sand are 100% calcium carbonate. They should not be used straight, instead mixed together with other safe substrates such as children's play sand, excavator clay, and pesticide and fertilizer-free topsoil to create a natural and safe substrate mixture. The proper substrate will not only allow them to create burrows like they would in the wild, it will allow females a safe place to lay eggs (which they can do even without the presence of a male), help retain heat, and keep humidity at normal levels, as well as provide natural enrichment.

Meet the PineWings!
Another Fantribe, this time completely my own.
Details, explanation, and closeups below. Otherwise, next week are the CaveWings! (Genius name, I know... but I promise there's more to them than meets the eye!)

Fun fact: inspiration for the PineWings came to me when I was sitting in a tree. It wasn't a pine tree, but I used to climb spruces all the time (at least I think they were spruces. They had long needles). It took a while to arrive at this design but I had a lot of fun making them.

You may have also seen a notification called 'Meet the PineWings' last week.... I totally didn't post this by accident...

PineWings are the first native inhabitants of Ventus. They are rarely larger than a wolf, built small to navigate the cramped coniferous forests, but even small they can be deadly. Their quills, which they normally use to blend into their environments, are coated in an itchy oil. Many victims scratch themselves to death.

Ventus is a land cursed by glaciers where three quarters of the year yield heavy snowfall. 'Summers' are short and spent frantically foraging and preserving plants for the winter. During winter their diet expands to include meat - which they must hunt from the forest floor. To help their odds, their green summer scales are traded for white and brown. In the spring, males' quills gain temporary red markings.

The other Ventus tribes (and even some Pyrrhian ones) do appear, but not to the extent the SwiftScales do. However, if all goes well I am planning a sequel series which will go more in-depth in the other tribes. The first book will be from a PineWing's perspective and be written in such a way that you don't have to slog through my 14-year-old self's poorly written drivel.

˚ʚ♡ɞ˚ three years is not a terribly long time, but, i feel like regular metrics of time simply cannot be applied to girlhood and the transition to womanhood. my childhood felt like a single moment and being a teenager felt more like a century. but i digress, what have i learned in the three years since i became a legal adult?
୨୧ fostering meaningful friendships is far more important than any romantic relationship ୨୧
♡ the thing about romantic and physical relationships, especially when you’re young, is that they are not a reliable constant. all i can say about this is that close, trusted friends will benefit you better than any “situationship”.
୨୧ think of yourself like a plant, just a little bit more complex ୨୧
♡ what i mean by this is simple: if you feel awful for seemingly no reason, get some water, eat some fruit and go outside. more often than not, the mysterious specter making you sad is just yourself forgetting fundamental self-care!
୨୧ the best product for glowing skin is free! ୨୧
♡ drinking enough water is one of the easiest and most effective ways to maintain healthy skin. hydration helps flush out toxins, keeps your skin cells plump, and improves elasticity. scientifically speaking, staying hydrated supports your body’s natural detoxification processes!
୨୧ cry, cry, cry! ୨୧
♡ crying is a wonderful and natural way to release negative emotions, not something that is weak or embarrassing. we go into this life screaming and wailing, why stop now?
୨୧ invest in blue light glasses ୨୧
♡ blue light is the enemy of your eyes, especially looking at it in the dark. getting yellow-tinted glasses is a game changer, especially if you prefer low light! i never turn on my big light.
୨୧ you have boundaries, period. ୨୧
♡ there’s no such thing as not having boundaries. you can go through life without experiencing things you’d rather not experience again, these experiences create boundaries. if you genuinely can’t think of any boundaries, i suggest doing some journaling! here are some prompts i made for myself that really helped me.

୨୧ no one is looking at you, seriously, it’s biological ୨୧
♡ let me get a little sciency here. humans tend to overestimate how much people actually notice us, and this is something called the spotlight effect. it happens because our brains are wired to be super focused on ourselves, making us think everyone else is just as tuned in to us as we are. spoiler alert: they’re not. studies have shown that people pay way less attention to you than you think. realizing this is so freeing because once you know that your little slip-ups or bad hair days go unnoticed, you can start living with a lot less self-consciousness. embrace the freedom—no one is watching as closely as you imagine.

♡ being independent doesn't mean you can’t ask for help or rely on others. sometimes the strongest thing you can do is reach out for support when you need it. true independence comes from knowing when to lean on others and when to stand on your own!

♡ taking regular breaks from technology allows your brain to rest and recharge. studies indicate that unplugging can improve focus, reduce stress, and enhance well-being. scheduling time each day for a digital detox is beneficial for your mental health and productivity.
୨୧ you don’t have to justify the things you love ୨୧
♡ “i know it’s dumb but i really love [media] because it has my favorite actor in it!” STOP!! if you find yourself preemptively insulting your interest or explaining why you like it, stop and think. ask yourself what about the situation made you feel like you needed to do that.
୨୧ it’s okay to outgrow things ୨୧
♡ i wish i could stay a kid forever, but being an adult is kinda sick. drifting away from people, hobbies, media, etc… is a natural, unavoidable part of growing.
୨୧ it’s okay to not outgrow things ୨୧
♡ that being said, there’s nothing wrong with hanging onto the things that make you happy! if something you have from when you were a kid still brings joy to your life, it would be silly to give outgrowing it another thought. the fact that it still brings you joy means it cannot be outgrown.
୨୧ vitamin C for bright and even skin ୨୧
♡ vitamin C is a powerhouse for your skin!! it helps brighten your complexion, fade dark spots, and even out your skin tone by reducing melanin production. dermatologists recommend incorporating a vitamin C serum into your skincare routine to fight off free radicals and promote collagen production.

Anyways here are my thoughts. I've read a lot of different kinds of opinions and site's and kinda just jumbled it all together. Cybertronains have their own diets and while energon is a large portion of it there is some verity. While they can eat and mildy digest human food it's not recommend due to gaining no nutrition due to it being carbon based and them not really needing it in the form earth's vegetation and species give. Of course this still means a curious bot or has tried a human meal. Although this isn't really what drives them off. No rather its how humans catch,prepare and vocally crave other living organisms. It's not a oddity to us to hear someone whine on how there "dying to eat some ribs!" Or are dying "for some grilled salmon and rice." It's something that can lead to conversion and finding common ground. This is not the same for a cybertrioan upon hearing this and learning just where these meats come from they will appear uneasy and in their own way sick. Their plating tight as their optics glance at you before recommending you to eat some fruit or any snacks they've come to have stored away for any of their earthly companions upon a ship or a base. This is just hearing this mind you. Now seeing someone eat is another. Eating something as simple as Jerky will get you stares and one of them going out to purge their tanks. This is just something that doesn't make alot of noise. As someone who eats the cartilage off of chicken bone I can imagine it causes them to rethink their options of how weak humans are. They can't help but clamp their plating and shift uncomfortably as they hear your molars grind at the cartilage and tear and snap as it's forces off the bone. Primus help them if you chew the bone slightly. It's almost as bad as when humans describe how much joy they gain from this " please stop talking how much you enjoy the ribcage from a cows carcas." " come on man I don't judge you when you drink blood." Their one "how to cook steak properly" from screaming on how you eating other living being. Vegans and vegetarians aren't safe either once they learn how plants feel pain in their own form. Did you know under black light a plants chlorophyll appear red? Yeah your getting a side eye as well its not as bad but they still don't want to see you eat around them. Now you may be asking " well if their so uncomfortable with the subject how do some of them eat our food then?" Some ways this can happen is that the bot may be unaware at first and never gave a true thought were those chicken wings come from. Another is maybe they don't care as much. Plenty of them have done dishonorable things what's wrong doing a small one.
Another factor that causes them to wonder just how "harmless" their human companions are is when we do rather primal acts. Have you ever wanted for spook someone or just not be seen? You stalk them to achieve this. Now while we don't do it like our canine or feline companions I belive we still do it in our own way. You tense and for some even hunch yourself over a bit in a attempt to make yourself smaller for a lesser chance of being seen. You take soft yet full steps as you ease your weight on each leg to not cause to much noise. Or maybe you lift your heels off the ground and step with the front of your foot taking strides as you crouch and keep your legs firm on the ground. You keep yours eyes focused and either hold or try and even out soft breaths. You hear every creak and shift until eventually you pounce a yelp cause a smile to curl on your face. Or maybe your trying to catch a fly carefully trying to almost play the insect that your just passing by before you trying to slam a object or your hand on it in hopes of killing it. It's makes any autobot or decepticon shiver as they see it happen. Or maybe they stumbled upon children playing hide and seek ( dont ask me how their big ahh selfs somehow manage to not be seen). They can't help but freeze as they see these smaller pathetic organics go still and listen shifting and holding their limbs tight yet isn't help the trembling causw by the thrill of the chase as they snap their head a certain direction and dig their feet into the ground to start running with a push. To see them giggle and smile aa they creep up on their friends and just like the fly pretend they don't know someone's there until they to pounce " got you!" Is squealed happily and yet all the poor bot can think is " I need off this fragging planet" They can't help but let their processor run wild as they one day notice you doing the same to them. Ratchet at the computer and the others are simply lounging around the base and there you are. Not even half their size but you eyes seem to snap to the poor medic and you grin. Soft steps and your eyes concentrated and they slightly dilate. A smile that shows the tips of your canines as your breath slowly shifts to larger silent intakes of air. The others take notice but they can't help but stare. You can't harm ratchet. You wield no weapon. So why?. Their optics trace you and it's so unusual. It's code for them to know how to deal with situations yet here you are. No training and yet your mind is already making all the hopefully successful changes to catch what your hunting. A primal itch that adores to take the front in now subtle ways in modern society. So they watch. Watch and slowly move their helms to following you as you making your move closer to the medic shifting through the noises of the conversations still playing out. Shifting out of view when the medic moves just slightly. And then when your just a few away from his peds you snap your teeth on the rabbits neck snapping it with the sound of " Hey ratchet whatcha doing?" As his yelp and huffs is intangled with laughter at his misfortune. Your canines presented by pulled back lips as teeth snap and cause a soft dull clank to fill a empty space as you smile at the medic that now has a scowl on his faceplate. Blue optics causing a whirrrr noise as they shift in a mimic as to how any creature on earths eyes do naturally. All as the the others shift and silently keep in mind to always glance behind them hoping they won't have misfortune to be your next rabbit.

Browsers' Inside Story: Hamtelopes of the Late Rodentocene
The Late Rodentocene is a time of diversity and of plenty. Warm, humid, and temperate climes fuel the growth of productive biomes all across the equator, with the landmasses, slowly being shaped by time across deep time, gradually becoming blanketed by the spread of grasslands and scrubland. Grasses, descended from tussock grass, had evolved seeds that float like dandelions, with miniscule filamentous parachutes, enabling them to spread far and wide and cover any available area of barren land, quickly becoming its first colonists. From there, a wide variety of "shrubs" soon follow, descendants of brassica cabbages, clovers, and even dwarfed stonefruit trees that bear cherry-like berries relished by a wide array of species.
Across this rich and abundant land, a new clade of grazers is rising to prominence: large, hopping jerryboas, bipedal jumpers able to easily cover large ground with their powerful and energy-efficient spring-like bounding bipedal locomotion. But, secondary to their abundance and dominance, is another clade of herbivores also spreading out across the land and eking out an existence in the shadow of a more successful group: the hamtelopes.
Descendants of the gouties of the Early Rodentocene along with the cavybaras, the first, early forms of hamtelope would find themselves quickly pushed to the margins by jerryboa domination of the open grasslands, savannahs, and prairies, where a saltatorial means of movement proved more energy-efficient at traversing wide, open land. But, rather than this be a catastrophe that spells the end of this lineage, they quickly adjusted, primarily becoming browsers feeding upon shrubs, bushes and low-branched trees, while the jerryboas focused more on grasses.
Many hamtelopes would remain quite small, such as the dusty hoofhare (Lagungulomys cricetolepus), basal grazers scarcely larger than their goutie ancestors, and living out in the open plains where they fed on clover and softer vegetation that grew amidst the grazing of the jerryboas. However, as with the trend in the Late Rodentocene, many hamtelopes have gradually been increasing in size in the absence of occupied megafaunal niches, like the scrubland hamtelope (Cervolagocricetus punctus), which too inhabits open plains dominated by low-growing plants and shrubbery, specializing on being browsers rather than grazers, and thus partitioning niches with the grazing jerryboas and allowing the two clades to coexist.
Some, however, have taken advantage of areas less conducive to the jerryboas, who are adapted to quickly moving across flat plains with little effort, but are less suited for rougher terrain. The alpine montelope (Eocapricricetus altus) is one such species, inhabiting steep cliffs of mountainous regions and precariously clambering up rock edges in order to feed on alpine vegetation, some growing straight out of cliff faces. Another is the forest deerat (Eoaltocricetus myocervus) which lives in dense, forested areas, where it thrives off a diet of fruit, bark, shrubs and especially the low branches of trees, standing on its rear legs to access the tender shoots, an abundant food rarely contested and out of reach of many browsers.
While for now, the hamtelopes boast moderate success, a few begin to hint at a greater future, with special adaptations now that, in many million years time, will give them an advantage that would allow them to take over in a changed world. The big-toed spurfoot (Centrungulopus mesonychus) is one such species bearing a unique feature. While most hamtelopes walk upon two central toes while another pair serve as dewclaws, the spurfoot rests its weight upon just one toe each, leaving the other hoof a pointed, claw-like spur that it uses for digging, defense and grooming.
As of the moment, the spurfoot's distinctive features seem trivial. Yet this would come to define its descendants once a herd of spurfoots manage to migrate to the isolated continent of Borealia in the Late Rodentocene during a period of low sea levels and minor glaciation lasting a few thousand years, that enabled them to cross over to the continent and become quite established. Their heavy grazing on the local grasses, which they fed on in the absence of jerryboas on Borealia, would cause said grasses to develop harsh defenses that made it lethal to consume to the unprepared. Thus, on Borealia, an arms race between plant and herbivore would bring about the evolution of the saberleaf grass and the ungulopes: two major players with a bigger role to perform in the distant future as the continents merge, break and reconfigure, mixing up the dynamics of species that evolved in isolation.
The ungulopes would not be the only clade to rise from these basal forms. Also in an arms race with both local flora and jerryboa competition, the deerats would also bring about, over several million years, taller and taller individuals better able to browse from leaves in trees, reaching in a relatively short time of 5-10 million years incredible proportions that would give it access to leaves out of reach of any other herbivore. With its niche unchallenged, these giant hamtelopes would in time return to the plains uncontested by the jerryboas, and come to become the tallest of all terrestrial animals, giving rise to the girats, the dominant high-browsers throughout the Therocene and the Glaciocene.
But, for most of the Late Rodentocene and the Therocene, the majority of hamtelopes would remain small, inconspicuous, and far more abundant in small-herbivore niches to the hoofhares and the montelopes. Spreading across the main continents, they would live side by side with the leaping megafaunal jerryboas known as the boingos, but would be notably less abundant in the southern continent of Easaterra as the landmass fragmented before they could reach the region, only arriving much later as tall browsers. The relative lack of small grazer and browser forms is reflected by the local success of the oingos across Easaterra in the Therocene, smaller jerryboas that in time give rise to the walkabies and rhinocheirids.

The oft-used description of early humans as “hunter-gatherers” should be changed to “gatherer-hunters,” at least in the Andes of South America, according to groundbreaking research led by a University of Wyoming archaeologist. Archaeologists long thought that early human diets were meat-based. However, Assistant Professor Randy Haas’ analysis of the remains of 24 individuals from the Wilamaya Patjxa and Soro Mik'aya Patjxa burial sites in Peru shows that early human diets in the Andes Mountains were composed of 80 percent plant matter and 20 percent meat. The study, titled Stable isotope chemistry reveals plant-dominant diet among early foragers on the Andean Altiplano, has been published by the peer-reviewed journal PLOS ONE. It applies methods in isotope chemistry and statistical modeling to unveil a surprising twist in early Andean societies and traditional hunter-gatherer narratives. “Conventional wisdom holds that early human economies focused on hunting -- an idea that has led to a number of high-protein dietary fads, such as the Paleodiet,” Haas says. “Our analysis shows that the diets were composed of 80 percent plant matter and 20 percent meat.” For these early humans of the Andes, spanning from 9,000 to 6,500 years ago, there is indeed evidence that hunting of large mammals provided some of their diets. But the new analysis of the isotopic composition of the human bones shows that plant foods made up the majority of individual diets, with meat playing a secondary role. Additionally, burnt plant remains from the sites and distinct dental-wear patterns on the individuals’ upper incisors indicate that tubers -- or plants that grow underground, such as potatoes -- likely were the most prominent subsistence resource. “Our combination of isotope chemistry, paleoethnobotanical and zooarchaeological methods offers the clearest and most accurate picture of early Andean diets to date,” Haas says. “These findings update our understanding of earliest forager economies and the pathway to agricultural economies in the Andean Highlands.”

The art of detachment: Loa edition

Detachment and the Law of Assumption are two related concepts that often go hand in hand. Detachment is the practice of releasing attachment to outcomes and results , while Loa teaches we can receive our desires by assuming they are ours. While similarly related, these two concepts are used differently and understanding them can help you make the most of your life.
So in short, detachment is the practice of not attaching an emotional value to the end result of a situation. It’s understanding that by letting go of control, you can enjoy greater personal freedom and success in your desires. Detachment allows us to view our obstacles and successes objectively, not emotionally. For example, if you’re on a diet, you can practice detachment by not attaching an emotional value or outcome to the diet, but instead simply focusing on following the plan and trusting that it will get you the result you desire, and we can apply the same to manifesting.
When we’re attached to a desired outcome, we can become frustrated and disappointed when faced with delays or unexpected results. This can cause us to doubt our own power and possibility. Detaching from a desired outcome can help us to remain focused on our intentions, while trusting that our desire for said “thing” is in the process of working out the best possible way just because we claim and believe so.
To begin the process of manifesting with detachment, I would suggest setting an intention and visualizing the desired outcome. Try to be as specific as possible and make sure it’s something that you truly desire. Once you’ve done this, let go of any attachment to the outcome and focus on releasing any tension or anxiety around it.
Next, take a few deep breaths, close your eyes and imagine a beautiful gold light surrounding you and your desire. Let go of any attachments to a specific timeline and remember that the you being able to have the desires in the first place, should be a reminder it has always been yours to begin with. Be patient, stay present and trust that it is for you and is already yours.
When thoughts or doubts arise, acknowledge them and then gently redirect your focus back to your intention. Focus on the feeling of having already received what you desire and remember that you don’t have to try and control or speed up the process; it’s yours.
Remind yourself that your desire is being taken care of in the 4D and trust and know that the 3D has no choice to conform. Don't get attached to what outcome has to look like. Remember: once you set your intention and align with your desire, all you have to do is let go and enjoy the journey.
Think of manifesting as planting a seed in fertile soil. You start by imagining and visualizing the growth of a particular seed. You create an intention for what that seed can produce and you nurture it with your thoughts, words and actions. This is the manifesting part of the process.
Now comes the detaching part. When that seed has been planted, you don’t need to keep watching it all the time. You don’t have to keep checking on its growth or trying to control its outcome and path. All you have to do is water it and make sure it stays in healthy soil, then let the seed grow in its own time and at its own pace.
Finally, you ignore the 3D reality of the situation and focus on the 4D perspective of the journey instead. In other words, you don’t just obsess over immediate results. Instead, you recognize that the real growth happens in the spiritual realm, in the unseen. You trust that an unseen force, your higher self, or universe (whatever you believe in), is at work helping your seed grow into its fullest potential. This is the 4D perspective of manifesting your dreams.
This may all sound complicated but by breaking it down into segments and understanding each step of this process, manifesting and detaching from 3D reality while focusing on the 4D perspective can become a lot simpler. Think of it as planting a seed and trusting it will grow into a beautiful flowering plant or tree. You don’t have to keep checking up on it every day. All you have to do is give it space and watch it grow with love and intention
By combining detachment and the Law of Assumption, we can gain a better understanding of how we can effectively improve our lives. Detachment allows us to focus on taking action without attaching emotional outcomes, while the Law of Assumption reminds us that our perception can create great things for us. Uniting these two concepts can put us in the perfect position for personal growth, fulfillment, and success.
We know that we are all creators in our own mind. By appreciating that statement and understanding that it applies to us all, you can learn to healthily detach from undesired aspects of your reality. When you assign yourself the power to create your own reality, it gives you the ability to detach from difficulties or desires in order to identity more effectively with your authentic self.
Begin by recognizing and accepting the circumstances of your current reality. Understand that difficult circumstances can’t always be avoided, and that attachment won't help them dissipate faster. Release any emotions of regret or guilt, and instead focus on what’s in front of you by staying grounded in the present moment. As Eckhart Tolle states “the power for creating a better future is contained in the present moment”.
Reality is our mirror
When applying this law to reality as a mirror, it highlights how what we see in the world is a reflection of ourselves – ultimately, it is a reflection of our own energy and thought. This being said, even though the external world affects us, our decision to respond to external situations or circumstances is determined by our inner self – our beliefs, feelings and thoughts.
Recognizing that reality is a reflection of ourselves also brings forth the understanding that we are all creators of our own realities. By acting with love and kindness, and by choosing to focus on what is positive in life, we can create a reality that is in alignment with our highest self. When this understanding is acknowledged, it allows us to take full responsibility for the life we lead and create a life of peace and joy for ourselves. I know it’s hard but we have to take accountability for our own journey
focus on the feelings you wish to experience as a result of your manifestations. It’s easier to let go and be more open to the Universe’s gift when we focus on feelings rather than the ‘thing’ we are trying to manifest. It helps us stay in the present moment and release our attachment to a particular outcome.
open yourself up to new possibilities and changes. When we become attached to a desire and don’t allow room for new options, we limit our growth and manifesting power. We should also practice gratitude for everything we have right now and throughout the journey of our manifestation.
And ofc be patient and don’t lose sight of the larger vision. In fact Be patient with yourself most importantly. It’s easy to become frustrated and consumed with when and how our desires will be fulfilled. To maintain healthy detachment, it’s important to stay focused on the end goal and trust yourself. No one can do that part for you.
take time to reflect and assess your progress along your journey. Ask yourself where you feel energized and fulfilled. Are there any behaviors or patterns that are no longer serving you? Taking time out to reflect and make changes can help keep you anchored in the greater vision – and less attached to specific outcomes.
You should not be ignoring the 3D. You should be detaching from it. I understand we have hard circumstances, I am not stupid nor ignorant of that. But the reason manifesting exists is because everything we desire and can create begins with the desire to create it. Everything. The 4D is as real as the 3D, and essentially, I'm talking about shifting our focus from the issues and challenges that can make life feel difficult, to instead imagining what we would like our life to be like in our own minds.
To explain this more in-depth, let's take a look at Neville Goddard quotes. 14 years before Dr. Brian Weiss penned the book @Many Lives Many Masters,” Neville Goddard was advocating the power of using our imagination to create the life we yearn for. He said "What you desire you must make real in your mind before it can appear in your world."
This means that when we use our imaginations to create a vivid image of our dream life, we are essentially calling it forth. That's why we must detach from the 3D, so we can be fully present to imagining and visualizing our dreams. We need to give ourselves the space and time to do this powerfully and authentically.
Another important point of Goddard's is to make each of our imagines real by feeling their emotions as deeply and realistically as possible. He said "Feel the feelings associated with your goal having been achieved – for the feeling is the secret". Simply put, this is the power of imagining our dreams with a specific feeling in mind, be it happiness, joy, excitement or satisfaction.
The final point I want to leave you with is that if our goal is to materialize something in 4D, we have to take an action towards it in 3D. As Goddard said: "When you practice with your interior senses, sensing and feeling what you would have after it has been realized, you will find yourself acting differently...for there is no gulf between 1D and 4D".

As someone who lost 30-40 pounds and has kept it off for over a decade, here are some practical ways to eat better and move more that still allow you to have a life and enjoy your food & workouts.
Tips for Healthy Eating Habits:
Adopt a healthier lifestyle out of self-love and improvement, not self-punishment or hatred
Shift into an abundance mindset: What foods and types of movement can you use to add/enrich your life? Focusing on what you're cutting out will only backfire
Prioritize produce: Find fruits and vegetables you love (a decent variety, around 5-10 options, is a good start)
Focus your meals on plant foods: While you don't need to cut 100% of animal foods out of your diet, making at least half of your plate fruits, vegetables, potatoes, or beans will help fill you up and support your vitamin requirements
Research & experiment until you find a rotation of healthy meals you love: Make your healthy eating routine as mindless and straightforward as possible. Once you find a handful of healthful breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snack options you enjoy, it becomes infinitely easier and more enjoyable to stick to a healthier lifestyle
Cook 80-90% of your meals at home. Know what's in your food. Control the amount of any added oil or sweetener you incorporate into any dish
Decide on at least 2 sweet and 2 savory healthy snack options you can always have on hand to support hunger or a craving throughout the day (mine are fruit bowls, a small bowl of oatmeal [with or without a few almonds], plain popcorn, carrots & hummus, and frozen edamame)
Have fun tea, coffee, and water options available: Always eat if you're truly hungry. But, for the times you're bored or stressed, having a vanilla or cinnamon tea, a cup of cold brew, or a lemon/fruit-infused water can satisfy your desire for some palette simulation
Be mindful of potential vitamin deficiencies: Your hair, skin, digestion, mental health, and energy can easily be on the rocks due to a vitamin deficiency. Get your levels checked to every year or two to ensure you're in optimal health. As a vegan who lives in a seasonal climate, I take B12 and vitamin D daily to keep up with these nutrient requirements
Allow yourself a weekly indulgence and splurge on special occasions. Prioritizing your health, not deprivation, is essential to make your life high-quality and worth living
Tips to Make Exercise More Effortless & Enjoyable:
Create 2-3, 60-120 minute (1-2 hour) playlists with different upbeat, EDM, or dance party vibes: Use these playlists to set the tone for a long walk or a gym workout
Keep a "Workout Bank" on your Youtube favorites list: Curate a handful of 10-30 minute pilates, strength training, or dance sculpting classes to always have an option available
Block your workout or walk into your schedule: Make a meeting on your calendar, set a reminder or an alarm with an upbeat song on your phone. Make a movement date, and prioritize yourself. It's for your health – your most priceless asset
Book a workout class with a friend. If you want to go solo, book it a week in advance, and tell at least 2 other people about your plans. Describe the workout class you're taking in as much detail as you can. Pique the other person's interest to incline them to ask you how it was after the class. This social pressure can make you feel more accountable to follow through with your workout in the end.
Dance around your room for 10-30 minutes in the morning before work, after work before dinner, or as a nightcap. Any movement counts
Practice moderation: Don't try to work out every day. Maybe you can get some steps in or have a solo dance party, but don't try to overdo it and stress out your body. This practice will only lead to quick burnout and no long-term motivation. Sustainable routines win the race
