"It's Ok
...if you fall apart sometimes. Tacos fall apart and we still love them." Honestly this doesn't ring true. It depends on *how* I fall apart. If I fall apart internally but do not act on it externally, then it's judged by others as fine. But as soon as I fall apart externally -- with emotional outbursts, substance abuse, binge eating, self harm, what-have-you -- I am sternly held accountable by those who care about me (and do not mind the confrontation). I understand that these noted behaviors are shocking and self-destructive. But what are my other options? I could fall apart by: crying for the whole day yelling into my pillow making violent ART smooshing my feelings in sculpey running until my knees hurt going for a walk and admiring buildings talking to my dead mother (?) forgetting about my commitments and proceeding with self-care petting my beloved cat forever, or until i get hungry
