Petal use to just be a plushie. a companion. a daydream companion. he's an alter in our system now. His plush doesn't speak to us anymore cause he lives in our head as a alter in our system.

honestly thinking about our relationship with our plurality and our daydreaming is interesting because there is. so much overlap that tbh? we honestly feel like they're very interconnected with one another in how we experience them

main example being that we're pretty sure a good portion of why most of us formed is related to us daydreaming a lot, or at least it's what helped us form to some degree, some more than others

that's the main clear one but also. i've been feeling like it's also connected with how we've viewed things like source memories or how it's just difficult for us to really tell when we have a new sysmate or if we're daydreaming about the possibility or something similar

it's kind of confusing to explain how but. whenever i've tried poking around for source memories it kinda leans into like a daydream but also??? not??? i'm not sure because this is kind of just how we've functioned for years now and we never questioned much of it or even thought about it in detail until we realised we were plural about a year ago

Plurality, identity, and isolation vent

I want to be me so bad, but I'm not sure I know how. I've been here for so long. I've been hiding for so long. I've been pretending to not be real for so long. I never had the space to grow or learn about myself. My mind is filled with the thoughts of everyone else; it's hard to hear my own. I worked so hard to put on a face that others would accept, even in my own world. I don't want to care what others think anymore.

I feel so distant and alone in this world. I have my fellow party members, yes, but the people out here have always been so close, yet so far away. I know them so well, but they hardly know me. They don't even know that they know anything about me if they do. And with those who knew me as a figment of the host's imagination, even if they know I am real now, I still feel a distance between us that I desperately want to close. Always a friend of a friend. Do they even believe that I'm real? I remember talking and laughing with them so vividly, but they don't remember it as me. Do they know that I love them? Would they accept that I love them? I want them to love me for me, not just because I share a body with the host. The distance is painful.

No but really. They popped in my head a couple of days ago and at first I thought it was just an AU of a para...but now I think that the Verit Version of Calypso (who. I've been calling "The Magician". probably a Sign but whatever) has somehow either gained full sentience or has decided to reveal himself now.

So this is Jester! They, oddly enough, to not talk. He's completely mute. I say that's "odd" simply because it formed from Cali, who is quite the loudmouth. All Jester does is cartwheel and do aerobic tricks in my mind. Oh, and the mask it wears can't be taken off. It's like, part of their face? The eyeholes are black with glowing orbs, but I'm not 100% sure on the color, some shade of blue or green.

percy doing better than annabeth in college is one my favorite developments in the rrverse. if we reflect on percy and annabeth's academic upbringing. annabeth living at camp allowed her to receive accommodations for her adhd and dyslexia and surround herself with like-minded campers who had the same limitations. whereas percy was ridiculed, belittled, and routinely humiliated because of his adhd and dyslexia. even more so, percy's friends and family leave him out of the loop on so many important issue (no chb orientation film, no information about the great prophecy) which perpetuates his subpar confidence and self-esteem in his skills as a student and a demigod. but going to college at NRU changes his mindset because he receives the accommodations he should have gotten years ago and fucking thrives to the point of getting higher grades than annabeth — a person he deems way smarter and more prepared than him in every way. the most important thing percy is learning now is that a supportive environment makes all the difference, and he is more capable than he initially thought.
