I write mostly series, so here are a few chapters from last year that I'm proud of:

Ch. 19 The Betrayal from Safest with You (Modern AU Retired Mob Enforcer Din Djarin; this is my first and longest running series - my baby 🥹. With this chapter I finally wrote that scene; you know the one you think up originally and end up building an entire story/series around?)

Hold On from The Rockford Portfolio (I will always think of this Tim Rockford fic fondly because it was born from such a fun, spontaneous coming together of the community after @mrsmando asked which Pboi is a Tiddy Guy, and together, we forever cemented Detective Rockford as a Boob Man).

Ch. 2 - White Chocolate Macadamia from Mi Galleta (Modern AU Pero Tovar; I spend a lot of time pouring over bike diagrams, biker images and biker Tiktoks for this chapter where we give our scary bouncer a sports bike. It was really hard work 🤭 Also, Protective!Pero 🥹)

Part 1 of Strawberry Shortcake (Frankie Morales goes to a strip club and falls in love with a cocktail waitress; this one came out of nowhere and was mainly vibes, but I love it. When I wrote it I knew I was leaving it on a cliffhanger, but had no idea where I was going to take it [Narrator: she took it to 22K words in total])

I think Jo also said recently that writing can often be a lonely activity, solitary in nature. Whenever someone hosts a challenge or writing/fandom event, it goes such a long way towards alleviating this loneliness, pulling us out of our isolation - it's really so, so nice. Such a fun idea and remains the prettiest moodboard on my blog 😍 Happy to be able to give Detective Tim Rockford a silly detective case plot [my favourite fiction genre to read] and patting myself on the back for adding a few Strawberry Shortcake easter eggs as well 🤭)

Brandy by the Fireplace (Trope-off hosted by @auteurdelabre. The trope I chose was "Fish out of Water" so naturally, we had to go with Frankie Morales. Self proclaimed City girls and anxious girls [gn], I hope this one speaks to you. I've never disclosed this before, but this one is inspired by true events 😭😂).

The Might of the Realm (The Glandolorian challenge hosted by @beefrobeefcal. My first love, husband, Din Djarin in a canon compliant post-S3 story that fits into an AU that has been living in my mind rent free since that last season ended. Maybe I'll write more for them, because as stated before - Emily never met a one-shot she could leave alone 😂)

Hidden Gem

Dodge (Vigilante AU Javier Pena, aka what happens when Emily thinks of a way to write that Daredevil fic that's been rattling around in her brain since 2018. This is really unlike anything else I've written - I'm a big Marvel fan, but probably won't ever write MCU fic [I do read a fair bit though!] so I'm proud of the way I was able to weave story elements from two of my fave fandoms together. Hi I'm back again hope everyone's Christmas was well! In spirit of the just past holiday I want to post some batfam hc's of mine Christmas edition!

Bruce: I feel like Bruce can go two ways either holiday wine mom and last minute prep mom. He either is on a couch watching movies with the kids sipping some nice wine OR he's the parent that piles everyone in the car last minute for a present/meal item and triple checks everything 5 hours before people are supposed to be at the house.

Dick: I feel as like the oldest sibling he's in charge of making sure Bruce doesn't go crazy during the holidays. I also feel like he gets those like family ugly sweaters for everyone and if your not wearing it he'll make you feel bad and guilt trip you about it for WEEKS LIKE- " Oh you don't wanna go out to hang? Remember that time I got us all cute sweaters and you decided to make me really sad and not wear it?" ( It works every time.)

Jayson: He's honestly super stressed during the holidays even if he doesn't show it. Poor baby😭 he's tryna figure what gifts to get his siblings. Cuz what do you get the children of Bruce Wayne?? He could snap his fingers and you'd have it. So I think in typical Jason fashion he just gets like gag gifts or gives them like his old weapons/gear that they always bug him about (cuz they think it looks cool).

Tim: I feel like Tim's the type that if they did a secret Santa he's now going to stalk them for like 3 weeks before Christmas and find the most perfect gift after stalking and a lot of calculations. Oh what does he want? Sleep and he's favorite brand of coffee.(I think he'll take the simplest gift anyways so he just asks for coffee.😂)

Damian: Damian's lost and he's barely holding on by a thread. I believe he's never experienced holiday season like this before. I feel when he was still with the LOA they did something small on only Christmas, so coming to America and experiencing the holiday rush between Thanksgiving and Christmas. He probably decides to go hang out with Jon between holidays because it's calmer and if he stays in that house any longer he's gonna murder one of his brothers. I think the first he saw Bruce stress over gifts he almost fainted. I mean he's dad is BATMAN. He's seem him take on foes stronger than him and now he's worried if he should give Cass a barbie or tickets to Wicked?!? It kinda throws him off. But after awhile he decides to help and just like his dad has notes and it takes even LONGER 😂. The whole experience make Damian see why Bruce is so stressed for the holidays.

Thoughts on Chenford (and some other stuff) in 6x04

Spoilers below the cut

What I liked…

Most of it… which… I can honestly not remember the last time I felt that way… probably 3x14?? I probably just need to watch it again and find some stuff to get pissed off about, but at the moment, I’m pretty happy with it 😂

I was positive they would make the last scene in the hospital into some kind of joke, but this season has (so far 🤞🏽) consistently served real feelings for Chenford and I could not be happier about that. 

Poor Lucy - my heart was aching for her all episode. I hate to see her struggle, but I love seeing her have some depth and emotional range again, so I’m here for it. Melissa killed that last scene! I was super scared they’d have Lucy take a huge risk that would blow up in her face bc she was trying to prove herself — thank god that wasn’t the choice they made.

Tim was supportive - he acknowledged Primm’s role in her exam results! I don’t think he rolled his eyes (toward Lucy) once! It was actually quite lovely! Especially the way he went straight to her in that final scene - that was perfect 😭😭😭 

Bailey giving Lucy props for being a badass - I loved it! I also loved that she was only in like 90 seconds of the epi — both can be true! 😂

Celina being a real rookie and making a massive ass mistake, and both Nolan and Celina getting reamed for it. I loved how imperfect the rookies were in season 1 and we haven’t gotten enough of that vibe since then. (I’m gonna ignore that they got to be on TV for knocking on a door after that, simply bc it was an input to Lucy’s story). 

What I was meh on…

I am sad we didn’t see Angela and Nyla rallying behind Lucy. That hurt my heart a little, but I understand why we didn’t…

The therapy… sigh… Leave it to this show to finally get something right in terms of addressing all the trauma they put these characters through by bringing in a therapist, only to completely ruin it by seeding this weird romance vibe. Time for Aaron to be done and someone else to take a turn bc I do not need to see these two date 😂

Wynonna Earp: Vengeance Thoughts

I've watched the special twice now so I've put some thoughts together on how I felt about it. Overall I thought it was really good and Emily did a good job of balancing both appealing it to new viewers who may not be attached to these characters but having a plot that they could be intrigued by and also still going back to the show's roots and making it about everything we know and love with these characters. I'm going to put more detailed thoughts under the cut, feel free to share yours either on the post or by messaging me and we can discuss! And also keep watching so we give it a bunch of views and a good chance to have more than just this special :)

The beginning of the movie starting with Nedley and Mercedes was unexpected but so good. Sad that Mercedes had to be sacrificed right away, Dani Kind is awesome but the way they did that with her body spelling out ‘Earp’ was insane ad fit this show perfectly.

Wynonna walking through the casino to ‘Tell That Devil’ was perfect and gave me all the feels. 

Wayhaught’s first scene was adorable and so them. The Bunny interruption was perfect too. Loved her little involvement lol

I never really liked Wynonna and Doc romantically (Team Dolls all the way) so a lot of their involvement I didn’t really care for (though I do love Tim so it’s hard to not care for Doc completely). Their dynamic has always been sort of odd to me though. 

Wynonna putting on the leather jacket before making her way back to Purgatory was another iconic moment. 😭❤️

All the Wynonna/Waverly/Nicole scenes in the movie were perfect. I wish we had more. Wynonna teasing them any chance she could and Nicole giving it to her right back. The scene when Wynonna just returns home was one of my favorites in the whole special. The stairs comment was my favorite Kat’s delivery of ‘Shut your mouth’ 😂 her comment on the chore wheel “It’s your turn to clean the baseboards…whatever that means in gay’ 😂

Wynonna and Waverly drunk at Mercedes wake and Nicole having to deal with their stupidity 😂 that whole sequence was absolute chaos in the best way

Loved Nicole and Nedley’s heart to heart ❤️ their dynamic is so special and important 

They really put Nicole through hell (as usual) and we got to see her be badass which I love. Also kudos to Kat for doing all this physical stuff while being pregnant. She’s amazing. 

Waverly and Wynonna having a heart to heart in front of the fire just like old times ❤️

The scene of Waverly, Wynonna, Nicole and Doc at the table really felt so right. The four of them are so good together. 

The flashbacks of younger Wynonna to tie in her connection to the villain were really well done and especially the shots of present Wynonna seeing some of it. Great directing choice.

Nicole and Wynonna telling each other the hard truths all while being incredibly entertaining is my favorite thing. And in contrast seeing Doc and Waverley’s relationship is so great too. 

This Black Badge Agent was incredibly underwhelming. A poor man’s Dolls and did nothing for me. I saw Emily’s explanation about not wanting to have too many familiar characters (as a reason why Jeremy wasn’t more involved) but this guy was just..meh. 

The way they just casually dropped a kids mention with Wayhaught only to be interrupted right after…I think it makes sense that Nicole is ready for kids and Waverly isn’t (yet) because she still needs to explore and do things she hasn’t been able to yet but I do hope if they are able to do more that it’s brought up again

Nicole having to save Waverly from a dark goo (again) was a nice touch and I loved seeing that whole sequence (acted brilliantly by both Dom and Kat) Also all the times Nicole said fuck 😂

Wynonna and Doc porch scenes are always so heartbreaking. 😭 I don’t have much of an attachment to them together but Mel and Tim are so good in these kinds of scenes. 

The amount of ‘baby’ mentions for Wayhaught in this special made me super happy 😍

This Wayhaught convo about Waverly needing to go do her thing with Black Badge and Nicole assuring her they can handle it was so good. They are so in love and precious. “I wish I could be the one to show you the world.” 😭 My favorite line. Ugh I want that for them so bad! 

The Wynonna and Nedley convo at the cemetery was so good too. I love that this show/cast can basically put any two people together in a scene and they’re so good together in said scene. 

Wayhaught on stakeout duty up top while Wynonna and Doc handle things on the ground was epic. And then when Nedley joined in…amazing lol

Loved seeing Wynonna being the badass we know her to be and taking care of things in her chaotic way and getting Nicole’s wedding ring back 🥰

I’m still shocked they went there with Doc and killing him but I do think it will end up being temporary if they end up doing more. It’s so sad to do that to Wynonna AGAIN too after she dealt with Dolls dying on top of everything else…stop torturing this poor woman already!! 

It also seemed odd to me how none of them really had a reaction to Doc’s death…wonder if that was supposed to mean something. I’m glad they had Jeremy show up at this point though. 

Wayhaught’s goodbye before Waverly leaves 😭 and Waverly saying goodbye to Wynonna too 😭…but excited for Waverly to have this journey and now Wynonna and Nicole working together…it leaves so much left for them to still do which I like. 

Nedley watching Nicole and Wynonna like a proud dad ❤️ great ending with the last shot being that sign and Earp mailbox...very well done! 

I do wish Rachel could have been involved (I loved her dynamic with Nicole especially in Season 4 and she is so Wayhaught's child) but Emily kind of explained that we'll see why she wasn't involved in the audiobook thing so I'm intrigued by that.

I also was kind of hoping we'd get more of just Wayhaught in general but of course I'm biased since they're my favorite part of the show/series and that we'd get more of them being intimate together but it was a lot more of it being implied (which I did enjoy and found funny especially in the way Wynonna would do it) and I get they only had a certain amount of time but now it's just made me want more of them in general so I do hope we get more now 🤞🏻

Ahhhhhhh!!!! I came here because I just finished Chapter 15 of your Bad Guys win A/B/O fic (I can’t remember the exact title and have the tab closed 😭) and let me tell you I am OBSESSED with your writing, holy chips. It’s such an indulgent fic for me with the angst and more angst and aghhhhhhhhh it’s so good!!! And I have so many questions, so many little thought hyper fixations from it! Like, Wally being alive- AGCHCIDJNDND!! How would Slade even react to that, to Wally and Dick potentially being reunited? And Tim!!! My poor baby!! I’m literally frothing at the mouth every time I remember how isolated he is in regards to everyone else. Because Jason’s finally with the others now, and Dick has Damian (and had Rose and Joey as well technically) but Tim is just… GOD THE ANGST. AUTHOR YOU GENIUS. He’s all alone in these isolated mountains with Ra’s and going through non-consensual body modifications and AFSHDHJJNN (Tim is one of my favorite characters). Although I guess he technically does have SOME support, slightly, with Layla and Ali and Amzi… It’s not the same as full on family yk? And then DICK. DICK’S ARC. GOD. He’s isolated, and coerced, and manipulated- he’s given this false sense of home, of pack, he’s trauma bonded with his abuser, he’s genuinely emotionally entangled with Slade, he’s initially terrified of Slade’s softness because he KNOWS the psychological consequences of softness from a abuser and captor, he KNOWS it’ll make everything ten times more confusing and he’ll get conflicted about his emotions and bonds, AND IT HAPPENS AND NOW HES MATED!! And the engagement dinner! What’s going to happen to Tim? God, what’s going to happen when KON sees him? I genuinely wonder what Tim’s sort of breaking point is going to be, for this fic, however. What I mean by this is Jason and Dick both had this sort of arc where they were reached this submissive, defeated state. For Dick this happened in much smaller increments, him breaking down along the way and then the final sort of end all be all being the bite, and with Jason it was suddenly forced into him, with Sionis’ forced mating and Jason’s subsequent submission. Even if Jason wasn’t fully broken, he was still submitted to Sionis. But with Tim, he’s still got all this fire and snark. He’s ready to do whatever it takes to make this hard for Ra’s, with the way he keeps egging him on. I’m DYING because I have a feeling the forced mating bite from Ra’s is going to be HIS breaking point into submisson, and OH MY CHIPS AM I NERVOUS FOR THAT. I just KNOW he’s going to be the prettiest bride ever though, I say this in the least sadistic way possible I promise you I am not trying to glorify or romanticize rape and non-consensual body modifications resulting in a loss of control over masculinity, but like. Oh, Omegaverse chapter 4 was a total treat!!! My heart broke for Stu, poor thing, pretending to be someone he's not 😭💔 But three cheers for Ali for realising how uncomfortable Stu is and doing everything in his power to find out why, and being kind to him. And I definitely let out a breath I didn't realise I was holding when none of the English alphas were able to find out Tim's secret.

Also, ngl when I saw Stu/Kev as a ship, I went ??? But that part was excellent! I loved Stu not being sure of himself throughout, and struggling with his omega inclinations. The scene was very well done, the dubious consent really came through, and it was just wrong enough to make it feel right, if you get what I mean. Also ugh, Kevin promising that next time he'd be the one filling Stu up... yuck please no don't put stu through that! 😭😭

And then Virat's introduction!!!! I love Stu being protective of Virat right off the bat, even though he's never met him, and feeling a kinship with him. I also love how Virat's causing an inner turmoil in Stu, about how beneficial it would be to reveal his second gender. And then Virat causing a stir among the English alphas... 🫣🫣 I'm scared for him now, espo with Kev around. Although let's be honest, if any omega could keep Kev in check and have him wrapped around their little finger, it's Virat. He's coy enough to pull it off, and I'm confident he can handle himself even if it's Kev he's dealing with. He'd turn the tables on Kev's claim of omegas doing as they're told alright! Makes me wonder, are we gonna get some Virat/Kev action next chap? 🫣 Also, thank you for the little morsel that Stuart notices even Jimmy was in on the conversations about Virat, speculating about the date of his debut and how soon they'd play him. Tim was another thing that wasn’t ever originally planned but then had to come in due to timelines. I like that Tim is there, playing as omega, but scenting because this still gives us VK as the first open OPENLY playing omega, as has always been planned (plus there’s a whole bit about how BCCI feel of NZC bringing in an omega which will be in VK’s fic). Brendon ofc would be so damn protective of any omega because Brendon 🥰 and I love how Brendon thinks Stuart reacts to his scent badly because, as alpha, it should smell bad to him, when really it’s having the direct opposite affect. It makes me so happy you think that was well written 🥹

It’s interesting that KP/Stu doing something together didn’t feel on the radar, considering how close they are and so how any changes to Stu’s behaviour was going to be noticed. It certainly does make sense what you mean and that balance of feeling wrong but right is exactly what I was striving for so I’m glad that came across!
