I'm obsessed with this parallel.
Like how giving an eye is akin to cannibalism. How Obito also thinks he is literally God. How Kakashi wipes the floor with his self-esteem.
Like you can't tell me Obito wouldn't stitch Kakashi up and open his skull in the same breath, just to feel closer to him.
Cannibalistic love.

Hannibal: Hannibal Lecter - Type 8w9
Hannibal seeks dominance and power. He has no real motive for his killings, besides wanting to feel powerful and I believe he simply enjoys the thrill of murder.
At his best, Hannibal does seem to have developed a genuine connection to Will. He is quite protective of him and is very attached to him.
At his worst, Hannibal is a notorious serial killer. He is loyal to no one and constantly puts himself first.
Hannibal does not really present like a typical 8. While he is driven and motivated by his thirst for power, he is quite subdued as a means to blend in. Hannibal wears a ‘person suit’ and pretends to have empathy for others, however this is not his true self. At his core, Hannibal wants power and dominance over others. He was even attracted to the professions of surgery and psychiatry because they are positions of power.
Hannibal directly states his affinity towards feeling powerful many times. A pretty notable example of this is when he tells Will that ‘killing must feel good to God too’ because he ‘feels powerful’. Furthermore, Hannibal enjoys manipulating his victims and the people around him. He loves to have others over for dinner and feed them the people he has killed. Every time Hannibal does this (and it is a lot of times) he has a sly smile because of what he has just made his guests eat. Hannibal takes this even further when he asserts his dominance over Gideon by making him eat his own legs.
Hannibal enjoys pushing people and seeing how far they will go. He will often provoke people in a subtle way for his own amusement. Hannibal expresses a curiosity for how people will act in situations. For example, he calls the Hobbs’ house to warn Garret Jacob Hobbs because he wanted to ‘see what would happen’. Hannibal gains a great sense of thrill from not knowing how things will turn out. I think part of why he kills is just to see if he can get away with it and to see just how far he can push.
Hannibal has a shallow understanding of human emotions, which is ironic as he is a psychiatrist. He struggles with empathy and can be poor at predicting how people will react to things. This is in direct contrast to Will’s ability to empathise with anyone. I think that Hannibal is envious of the fact that Will can understand people in a way he simply cannot.
Building upon this point, I think Hannibal actually craves to be understood and to be ‘seen’. Out of necessity, Hannibal spends much of his time hiding his true self and as a result he feels like no one really ‘knows’ him. However, Will is able to see Hannibal for who he really is and is one of the only people to really know him, which I think Hannibal cherishes. I feel that Hannibal feels a sense of freedom from really being seen and understood by Will.
I had a hard time deciding on Hannibal’s wing, as I feel they are quite balanced. I settled on 8w9, as I think Hannibal is more goal oriented than a wing 7. Additionally, Hannibal’s anger is often quite subdued and erupts in moments when he is threatened which is more characteristic of a wing 9.
Tri-type: 8w9 - 5w4 - 4w3
Some quotes to describe Hannibal’s traits and motivations:
“When the fox hears the rabbit scream, he comes running. But not to help.”
“I have no interest in understanding sheep, only eating them.”
“Morality does not exist. Only morale.”
“The tendency to see others as less human than ourselves is universal.”
“Evil is just destructive? Storms are evil, if it’s that simple.”
“The most beautiful quality of a true friendship is to understand and be understood with absolute clarity.”
“When feasible, one should eat the rude.”
“My compassion for you is inconvenient, Will”
“Passion’s good. Gets blood pumping.”
“With all my knowledge and intuition I could never entirely predict you. I can feed the caterpillar, I can whisper through the chrysalis, but what hatches follows its own nature and is beyond me.”
“Must I denounce myself as a monster while you still refuse to see the one growing inside you?”
Hannibal: “Killing must feel good to God, too. He does it all the time, and are we not created in his image?” Will: “Depends on who you ask.” Hannibal: “God’s terrific. He dropped a church roof on 34 of his worshipers last Wednesday night in Texas, while they sang a hymn.” Will: “Did God feel good about that?” Hannibal: “He felt powerful.”
Hannibal: [to Will] I let you know me… see me. I gave you a rare gift, but you didn’t want it.
Will: “Didn’t I?” Hannibal: “You would deny me my life?” Will: “No. No. No, not your life.” Hannibal: “My freedom, then. You would take that from me. Confine me to a prison cell. Do you believe you could change me, the way I’ve changed you?” Will: “I already did.” Hannibal: “Fate and circumstance have returned us back to this moment, when the teacup shatters. I forgive you, Will. Do you forgive me?”
Hannibal: “You said it felt good to kill Garret Jacob Hobbs. Would it feel good to kill me now?” Will: “Garret Jacob Hobbs was a murderer. Are you a murderer, Doctor Lecter?” Hannibal: “What reason would I have?” Will: “You, you have no traceable motive… Which is why you were so hard to see. You were just curious what I would do. Someone like me. Someone who thinks how I think. Wind him up and watch him go. And apparently, Dr. Lecter, this is how I go.”

Hannibal: Will Graham - Type 6w5
Will is driven by fear and shows a great deal of anxiety. While he is socially awkward, he has a great understanding of the human condition and cares a lot about other people.
At his best, Will is kind, empathetic and caring. He genuinely wants to keep people safe and feels a sense of purpose working for Jack (even though he knows it isn’t good for him).
At his worst, Will is paranoid and anxious. When Hannibal betrays him, he becomes embittered and vengeful.
Will has the gift (or curse) of extreme empathy, meaning he is able to understand anybody - even killers. This is crippling for Will and is often too much for him. Will uses this ability in the best way he knows how - profiling serial killers. Despite his fears and the reservations about the effect that this job may be having on himself, Will continues because he believes that he is doing something good. He thinks that his own mental sanity is a sacrifice he should be making to keep people safe from serial killers, as he thinks he is the only one who can solve these cases.
There is an undercurrent of fear underlying almost all of Will’s actions. He has a lot of self-doubt and is scared about his own mental state. When Will kills Garret Jacob Hobbs, he becomes obsessed with the fact and is so deeply scared that he has now become him. Will is consumed by this and his fears about Hobbs, make it easier for Hannibal to manipulate him. Hannibal is able to prey on Will’s insecurities and is almost able to convince him that he was the copycat killer.
Will is paranoid and suspicious. He is able to quickly put the pieces together of things and often makes logical leaps that most people wouldn’t see. This natural suspicion is able to help him connect the dots about Hannibal. Will is able to see that Hannibal is trying to frame him for murders before he started losing time. From there, he is able to make the connection that Hannibal is the real killer and has been all along. Will (luckily) has a strong enough sense of self to continue believing in himself, despite the planted evidence. However, it is difficult for Will to communicate what he sees to other people and people just treat it as paranoia.
Will has a strong sense of loyalty to the people in his life. When Hannibal frames him, he is deeply hurt that no one in his life believes he is innocent. He is especially hurt by Alana because he believed that she would always see the good in him. Likewise, he feels a deep sense of betrayal from Hannibal, because he felt that they were friends. This betrayal festers while Will is imprisoned in the mental hospital and Will begins to embrace his darker nature.
This comes to a head when Hannibal kills Beverly, as it is simply too far for Will to take. Will alone sees Hannibal’s true nature and he knows that he needs to be stopped. I believe that Will deep down blames himself (but only slightly) for this because she was investigating Hannibal for him and in his mind the only way for the killing to stop is to kill Hannibal.
Will has a wing 5 as he is more introspective and introverted than a wing 7 would be. He is also more emotionally subdued and less outwardly reactive than a wing 7 would be.
Tri-type: 6w5 - 1w9 - 4w5
Some quotes to describe Will’s traits and motivations:
“At night I leave the lights on in my little house and walks across the flat fields. When I look back from a distance the house is like a boat on the sea. It’s really the only time I feel safe.”
“I felt terrified. And then I felt powerful.”
“You can’t reduce me to a set of influences. I’m not the product of anything. I’ve given up good and evil for behaviourism.”
“What you did to me is in my head, and I will find it. I’m going to remember, Dr. Lecter, and when I do, there will be a reckoning.”
“I used to hear the thoughts inside my skull with the same…tone, timbre, accent, as if the words were coming out of my mouth. Now my inner voice sounds like you.”
“It isn’t very smart to piss off a guy who thinks about killing people for a living.”
To Hannibal: “I felt so betrayed by you. Betrayal was the only thing that felt real to me.”
Alana: “What do you think one of Will’s strongest drives is?” Jack: “Fear. Will Graham deals with huge amounts of fear. It comes with his imagination.”
Will: “Jack hasn’t abandoned me.” Hannibal: “Not in discernible way. Perhaps the same way gods abandon their creations. You say he hasn’t abandoned you, but at the same time wandering around Wolf Trap in the middle of the night.” Will: “Well this should be interesting. Please, doctor, proceed.” Hannibal: “Jack gave you his word he would protect your head space, yet he leaves you to your mental devices.” Will: “You trying to alienate me from Jack Crawford?”

It's been a long time since I drew a Hetalia oc Andorra! His physical resemblance to his neighbors is no mere coincidence! I can only say that he is a very kind and hard-working boy with anxiety :D

Hi
I'm really sorry if anyone still follows me for qsmp, I had a lot of drawing and projects, but now I stopped seeing anything related to the server. I am very grateful for the few interactions that I had with the rest of the fandom and I greatly appreciated the support that my drawings, clips and (mini)analysis had.
I will share things about Hetalia again, my ocs and now things about Hannibal! thanks for everything!
