We are Flappy Happy! We are a small Canadian business run by two autistic women.

When searching for fidget items, we’ve noticed that the vast majority are marketed towards children or the parents of children. We wanted to focus on adults that need fidgets. This partially comes from us wanting to say it’s okay to use fidgets (more than okay!), but also us wanting to include more discreet fidget items for those that may need or want them.

We carry a lot of your standard fidgets you’d expect like push pops, fidget spinners and similar.

But we also carry more discreet or adult focused fidgets. These might include things like calm strips (textured stickers), fidget earrings, fidget necklaces, and spinner rings.

Any signal boosting or help spreading the word is so beyond appreciated!

The degree to which people say bad politics are caused by mental health issues is exhausting. People saying shit like "this person needs to be committed" is so angering. As a psychotic person who experiences delusions hearing people use those words as ad hominem attacks make me feel alienated and gross.

Just STOP, please, mentally ill people, including psychotic people, do not inherently have dangerous politics. We are not the ones doing mass violence, of course, some of us do, but the vast majority of people doing mass violence are not psychotic.

Mentally ill people can be dangerous, have shit politics, and be assholes. But so can people without any severe mental health issues.

Do not throw around the idea of institutionalized people, especially by force, if you don't get the problems mental health hospitals/units have. Do people not seem to understand the dark histories psychiatric facilities had, Not to mention the astonishing degree of violations, ableism, and violence people deemed "crazy" go through in psychiatric hospitals. Yes, we need facilities to give people higher levels of care. But being held against your will is traumatic. Being in underfunded/understaffed/under-regulated facilities is traumatic AF.

People who hear voices, people with dissociative disorders, delusional people, people with compulsions and all others considered crazy are not the real problem.

Please hold out for a healthy and fulfilling relationship and don’t settle for less.

After years of being ridiculed or yelled at by those close to me when I suddenly could not speak out loud, I am accepted and encouraged by my partner.

Because not only does he accept when I suddenly can’t communicate by speaking out loud, he actually encourages it when he can tell I’m getting overwhelmed. “Hey, I can see this is a lot for you right now. Do you need to not talk?” Which is huge because of the way I was treated, I’ve constantly pushed myself beyond points of comfort to appease others. It led to me pushing beyond points when it would have been better for me to not talk out loud so when he suggests it, it’s a reminder that it’s okay to need to take a break. We now use a text to speech app when I’m unable to speak out loud and he’s so patient and kind. Sometimes he has to rely on trying to communicate with me without the app because I can’t even manage that at that moment in time. And he does. He adapts. He’s learned to communicate with me in different ways.

Sorry for the ramble. I just want you all to know you deserve to be accepted and embraced as you are.
