I'm recovering from my first bout with Covid after 5 years of dodging infection, and it feels like I need to give myself permission to rest above all, but the rest of this list is just as important.

I've spent the last few days blissfully free of dreams, but this morning, I woke up from a nightmare that left me with some awful thoughts and horrible feelings. After all the work I've been doing on myself, I was able to quickly realize that it's just my brain being mean and a low day but I'm so tired from the sickness that the fight feels so much harder today than it has been. So, I'm also giving myself permission to sit with my feelings, so I actually have the space to rest and heal.

One day at a time.

Between taking things one day at a time, working through past trauma, and creating a healthier life by working to make better choices on all fronts, I'm starting to believe that luck, other than the rare occasional occurrence, is mostly just myth. I'm working to create a better future for myself every time I make healthier choices, and the ability to make those choices comes from taking the time to address, process, and understand what I'm feeling. Things really start to make more sense (or at least feel more manageable) when you take life one day at a time.

One thousand, four hundred, and sixty one days.

Four years.

I wanted a reminder so that way when things seem like they're going completely off the rails- this is not forever. We can fight them every step of the way. We can help out our neighbors and take every win we can.
