10, 15, 25 for wuko :)
Omggg okay I'm very excited to do this for Wuko!!! Thank you anon! :)
10. Describe their first date.
I think that Wu would try go all out on their first date (I'm literally imagining a scenario very similar to Kurosawa and Adachi's first date for those who are familiar with any adaptation of Cherry Magic lol). He'd probably try to make everything perfect - they'd spend the day shopping for expensive outfits, fly over Republic City on a sky bison/blimp, then go to the fanciest restaurant in town.
Of course, Mako would end up having a shitty time, and afterwards they'd have a talk about how neither of them had much fun - Mako because all of the rich people stuff felt superficial to him, and Wu because he was so focused on everything being perfect that he didn't take the time to truly pay attention to Mako and notice he was feeling uncomfortable. Wu would apologize, and then Mako would take him to a cheap hole-in-the-wall place that he likes (, and they'd do the things Mako likes to do, which are much more low-key (which Wu has never really experienced). From that point forward, they would make an agreement to try and do things they both like to do on future dates.
15. Do they always say "I love you" before leaving?
Wu almost always says it first, but sometimes Mako gets to it before him. This of course makes Wu very happy. Mako of course always says it back when Wu says it first :)
25. Do they have any hobbies they share?
I think that, at first, it would seem like there's not really any interests that they both have in common, but eventually they would slowly start introducing the other to things they like and end up both getting really into them.
For Mako, I'd imagine his thing is watching probending - Wu wouldn't be interested at first, but he'd make an effort to start learning more about it, and eventually become just as big of a fan as Mako (and probably start buying a bunch of merch for his favorite team lol).
For Wu, I imagine him as being a huge theatre kid, so he'd probably start dragging Mako to musicals and operas, and eventually Mako would begin to appreciate them and even look forward to them too.
Also, I don't know if drag shows exist in the world of Avatar, but I headcanon that they do and I 100% believe that Wu would be super into them, either just going to them or being in them. I would LOVEEE to write a fic someday about Wu convincing Mako to let him dress him up in drag lol. Maybe the rest of the Krew could join in on it too.
Gahhh this was literally so much fun to do!! To anyone else who sees this, pls feel free to send me more of these (for Zukaang, Korrasami, Rangshi, or even Wuko again) :)

If It’s Sooo Important~Rangshi
Also on Ao3
Summary: Rangi gets back after a trip and finds Kyoshi trying to skip a meal. A sleepy Kyoshi realizes eating might be more fun if her girlfriend feeds her. // Word count: ~1600 // Rating: G // For @rangshi-week Day 2: Soft/Domestic
-
Rangi had been gone for five days. Though the Sei'naka clan was small, they were still considered nobles, and sometimes that meant she had to attend to matters in the Fire Nation. But this morning, finally, she would be back with Kyoshi and their friends. She smiled as she reached one of the simpler residences Jianzhu left to Kyoshi. Hopefully no one had done anything too stupid while she was away this time.
She rapped on the simple green door as a courtesy before entering. It was never a good idea to walk in to a house where daofei were staying without warning. “I'm back!” Her raspy call was met with assorted greetings. It sounded like everyone was in the dining area. As Rangi removed her shoes, Kyoshi's fox ran up to her, yipping eagerly. After petting him, Rangi strode into the other room.
Her expression automatically softened when she found Kyoshi half-asleep at the table. Kyoshi gave her a sleepy smile, opening her arms. No one present batted an eye when Rangi fell into Kyoshi's arms and kissed her. They were all used to this behavior by now. The Avatar absolutely refused to hide the things that made her happy.
Everyone exchanged more pleasantries once Rangi retrieved some food for herself and sat down. Jinpa hummed airbender folk tunes and clicked his chopsticks, earning a few laughs. It was shaping up to be a relaxing day. But suddenly, the air warmed up in a way that sent chills down everyone's spines.
Bronze eyes sharpened, fixating on Kyoshi's untouched food. Rangi's lower lip jutted out in a prominent pout. Her eyes shifted to Jinpa, who had the good sense to already be trembling a bit. “I thought you promised me you'd make sure she ate. All you managed to do was get her to the table? I'm very disappointed, Brother.”
Jinpa fidgeted in his seat, hands picking at a rough sliver on his staff. He couldn't meet Rangi's eyes. “To my credit, even getting her to the table was rather a spectacle. She refused to stop reading updates she'd received regarding Governor Te, and I had to drag her down here myself.”
A scoff from his left caused him to redden and glance at an incredulous Hei-Ran. “Yes, right, I had to use airbending to, er, coax her along... To be honest, I only got her here a few minutes ago,” he finished lamely.
Rangi rubbed between her eyes and exhaled, barely restraining smoke from her mixing with her breath. “Yes, I suppose I should have suspected as much. And it's not like you're really the one at fault anyway.”
Jinpa visibly relaxed. He returned to snatching up boiled vegetables. However, he wisely opted not to continue humming. Rangi turned her attention to Kyoshi, who had been suspiciously silent. Usually, Kyoshi would have tried to interject during a conversation about her ability to take care of herself at least once.
Kyoshi surprised her by merely yawning. It was almost like the Avatar hadn't been listening at all. A piece of parchment caught Rangi's eye. It hid under Kyoshi's billowing sleeve, but still, Rangi should have noticed it before. No wonder Kyoshi hadn't been responding—she'd sneaked down the documents she'd been reading in her room. She was clearly reading segments around her robe as inconspicuously as possible.
When it was quiet longer than expected, Kyoshi looked over at Rangi with sleepy, sheepish eyes. “I take it I've been caught?” There was no need to pretend now, and Kyoshi knew it. She brought the document out in front of her, causing Rangi to scowl.
“You couldn't have finished reading this after you ate something? Really? How many times do I have to tell you to eat before you learn to do it on your own!?” Rangi's exasperation was driven by love, which admittedly made Kyoshi feel a bit ashamed.
“Rangi, I'm honestly exhausted and would rather get back to sleep than eat right now, given the choice. Plus, I've eaten most of my meals while you've been away. Must it always be such an affair for me to not eat?” Kyoshi tried to reason, though she was well-aware this was a losing battle.
“Yes! It is important that you keep yourself fed!”
Something flickered across Kyoshi's face. There might be a way to resolve this situation quite nicely. “How important is it?”
“What?”
“How important is it that I eat my breakfast right now?”
Rangi could feel the presence of a trap in Kyoshi's words, but she couldn't figure out what it was. “It's... Listen, I need you to eat. I'll feel more at ease if you eat regularly.” She hoped she'd managed to avoid whatever pitfall Kyoshi had in mind, but Kyoshi's lazy grin told her she'd failed.
“In that case, since I'm too tired to feed myself, and you feel it is so important that I eat anyway... You can feed me yourself!”
“Excuse me?” Rangi shot out of her seat, flushed down to her neck. Her eyes flitted around the table. Yes, everyone was watching them now. Hei-Ran looked a little too smug. Jinpa and Kirima mostly just looked amused. Everyone else raised their eyebrows but kept eating.
Kyoshi laid her head down across her arm on the table. “Feed me yourself.” She drawled. Her eyes were open only a whisper, her lips turned up at the very corners. Yet the excitement radiating off of her betrayed a newfound wakefulness. It was obvious she had no intention of using said wakefulness to eat, however. “Well? What's it going to be?” Kyoshi yawned exaggeratedly.
Rangi stood rooted to the spot. For a minute, Kyoshi wasn't sure if she'd pushed things too far and possibly short-circuited her poor, over-serious girlfriend. She was considering apologizing and picking up her chopsticksthough it really was true that she was physically exhausted and didn't want to do much of anything once she finished reading that report—when Rangi plopped back in her seat with a searing huff.
“Fine.” Rangi glared at each person at the table in turn, daring them to make a single damn comment. When Kirima snickered, Rangi lightly bared her teeth. It wasn't clear if Kirima was actually intimidated or if she simply decided it wasn't worth it for now, but she schooled her expression.
Turning towards Kyoshi, Rangi's face softened again. She was annoyed by this little ploy, to be sure, but she loved this woman. With all the eyes on them, her face stayed dark red, though. Kyoshi peeked at Rangi in mild surprise, but grinned when Rangi took hold of Kyoshi's untouched chopsticks.
Given how smooth and precise most of Rangi's army-trained movements were, Kyoshi found it charming that her hand shook a little in embarrassment as she picked up a cut of fish and slowly guided it to Kyoshi's mouth. Kyoshi's cheeks tinged light pink as she propped her head up to accept. She too was aware of their audience. Maybe she hadn't thought this all the way through. But having Rangi behave like this was such a sweet victory, it probably didn't matter too much that their friends were certain to tease them for this later.
The food definitely tasted better this way. Rangi refused to make any sort of coaxing sounds or say any silly things, but she dutifully fed Kyoshi without complaint. More than that, looking closely enough, Kyoshi recognized that special softness that Rangi reserved only for her. All of Rangi's hard-earned edges seemed to fall away in moments like this. Even though she was tempted to tease Rangi about giving in to her request so easily, Kyoshi knew better. The fact Rangi was doing this at all—much less in front of other people—was a testament of her love. There wasn't actually anything tease about, when she thought of it like that.
“There.” Rangi said simply, putting the chopsticks down. Kyoshi hadn't realized how much time had passed. It was already over. She tried not to be too disappointed, she just wasn't sure if she'd ever convince Rangi to feed her like that again.
“Th-thanks.” Kyoshi bowed her head slightly.
Looking around, everyone else was clearing their places and going off to do their own things. Apparently, Kyoshi and Rangi hadn't kept their attention for very long. Rangi looked relieved at that, and she quickly dug into her own food. Kyoshi wondered if Rangi would ever want to be fed, too, or if that would not be efficient enough for someone who ate so rapidly. Before she could even try to ask, Rangi finished eating, and they got up to clear their dishes.
Once they were alone, Rangi leaned close and whispered, “If you ever make me do that in front of my mother or Kirima again, I am leaving you, you colossal oaf.” The smile left Kyoshi's face and panic started to set in before Rangi continued, “Only ask me to do such things in private.”
Kyoshi immediately relaxed, giggling at her “tough-as-nails” girlfriend before sweeping her up in the air and kissing her nose. Rangi sputtered at her indignantly for a moment, but then she couldn't help but smile. She put her forehead against Kyoshi's. Breathing her in, she knew there really wasn't any place she'd rather be. Even if Kyoshi made her do embarrassing couple-y things from time to time.
“You're lucky I love you.”
“I really am lucky. I love you, too. Let's go take a nap for a while, though. I could use the sleep if you don't mind.” Kyoshi yawned again as she put Rangi back down.
“Then maybe you should have slept while I was gone, stupid!”
-
AN: Rangi has a reputation lol It's a little bit too fun to write her being embarrassed, but that was not supposed to be the focus this time like it was last time, so I hope it didn't feel repetitive. This was definitely supposed to be fluffier.
Thanks for reading!

Kyoshi still struggled with the actions she took as the Avatar in defense of the world’s peace and balance. But protecting Rangi was a matter that turned her into a different being, small and rat like and vicious enough to live inside a thin shadow.

I am very, very late but please accept my list of my favourite OTPs of 2020
Tumblr media
6. Gideon Nav and Harrow Nonagesimus/ Griddlehark (The Locked Tomb Trilogy)
Listen, if you haven't read 'Gideon the Ninth', you are missing out on an absolutely amazing, completely bonkers, filled with witty banter, book about Lesbian Necromancers in Space.
Need I say more?
I will: Gideon and Harrow absolutely ruined me and 'Harrow the Ninth' was even better that its predecessor.
(spamming with gifs because I had no idea there were so many and--I love it)
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
5. Avatar Korra and Asami Sato/Korrasami (Avatar: The Legend of Korra)
While Korra and Asami were robbed in the series because of censoring, the comics pick up right where the show ended: showing our girls completely dominating Republic City in all of their Power Couple Glory.
Probably the oldest show or book on this list, Korra and Asami paved the way for lgbtq+ representation in mainstream media today.
Tumblr media
4. Rangi and Kyoshi/Rangshi (The Kyoshi Novels)
Yet another Avatar and their forever girl! Kyoshi is my favourite Avatar and Rangi is in the same league: both of them are them are in a separate class of their own making.
I love them.
Tumblr media
3. Luz Noceda and Amity Blight/Lumity (The Owl House)
Owl House is the sweetest thing I've seen all year. Luz and Amity are no exception.
Dancing in the moonlight while destroying a monster that shapeshifts into your worst fears? Getting hyper-competitive so that you can impress your crush?
Luz and Amity deserve everything.
Tumblr media
2. Victor Nikiforov and Katsuki Yuuri/Victuuri (Yuri on Ice)
It has been months since I saw Yuri on ice, and I am still not over them.
I will never be over them.
The sheer poetry of falling in love over a mutual star-eyed adoration of figure skating, and broadcasting your love to the world during the world's most prestigious competition *chef's kiss*
Tumblr media
1. Catra and Adora/Catradora (Shera and the Princesses of Power)
Yes!!!
Childhood friends to Enemies to Lovers is the best trope and I am convinced no other can even come close.
Knowing everything about each other?
Homoerotic fight scenes?
Homoerotic DANCE?
God, they deserve the whole universe.
Tumblr media
[PS: Every single one of these is queer--only good thing out of 2020]
[PPS: 5/6 of them are f/f--only other good thing to come out of 2020]

“#korrasami#lok#atla#rangshi#kyoshi#rangi#rise of kyoshi#shadow of kyoshi#korra#avatar#korra and asami#asami sato#korrasami and rangshi has the authority to make me cry#soulmates#they love each other and you gonna deal with it#avatar the last airbender#legend of korra#ya'll just need to understand small changes#happy pride 🌈#korrasami and rangshi for pride month#bi cons”
Korrasam is the best, ya know? How they trust each other so much is wholesome. Despite the lOve tRianGLe issue, they still find a way to ignore the past. I love how Asami feels so safe with Korra, whereas how Korra calm and how expressive she can get with Asami. They made for each other, and that's it. And I still not get it how other people says that they have no development. Even tho I am straight, I can see their interactions grow throughout the seasons. I know it could be better, but for me, the flow of their relationship is still the best. SOME people wants to be more exaggerated when it comes relationship, that the couples need to be more in the PDA side or every moment they need to kiss, and so on. With Korrasami, there's no need for those extreme moments, to be honest. I like how they portray the simple side of a relationship, but you can still see and feel their chemistry. I guess in some other cases, people tend to be ignorant to the small changes in a relationship or choose to be blind from the reality that friendship can turn to a much more relationship. With Korrasami's case, their relationship was unexpected, they didn't know that there's a possibility to be in love with your friend, especially they are both girls. Alongside with Rangshi, Kyoshi didn't expect to fall in love with Rangi, it just bursted out of her heart and mind to fully realize she loves Rangi. I love how the two pairs complete each other, how they understand their breakdowns or breakthrough, and how they uplift one another. And that's why they are the best.

Reversal~Rangshi
Also on Ao3
Summary: After losing a petty bet, Rangi is stuck in the horse stance for 20 minutes. Kyoshi quickly gets bored. // Word count: ~750 // Rating: G // For @rangshi-week Day 3: Horse Stance
-
Rangi grumbled, cheeks red and eyes stubbornly looking straight ahead at nothing. She could feel Kyoshi watching her with a leering grin, but she wouldn't give her girlfriend the satisfaction of responding. Even if she really did want to either smack or kiss the dumb oafish look off her face. Whichever would flummox the Avatar more. However, if Rangi rose out of the horse stance now, it would be defeat all over again. And her pride just couldn't take the hit.
So she just kept counting off in her head. Ten more minutes, and the lost bet would be paid off. And ten minutes more was really nothing to someone with her training. It wasn't that keeping the stance was difficult for her, just that it was humiliating to have been put in it by her own student.
“Rangi, you know I was kidding when I said you had to hold a horse stance for a full 20 minutes if I could get my flame to turn white before you could, right?” Kyoshi laughed. She swayed back and forth on her hands atop the mound of rock she'd bent for herself to sit on. “You can consider your debt paid now, I swear. This is already far more than I expected you to actually do.”
“Then maybe you don't know me very well,” Rangi snapped. “That's rather disappointing, considering we've been together for four years. Known each other for, what, almost seven? And you think I won't fulfill every promised second?” She was mildly offended. Her sense of honor and commitment would never allow for anything less than their agreed terms. She would have fully expected the same from Kyoshi if she had lost. Though they probably shouldn't have been getting competitive while training in the first place.
Kyoshi stepped into Rangi's line of sight when it was clear Rangi wasn't going to look her way. Her emerald eyes were wide with hurt. “Of course I know that! But you don't have to! You lost the bet, but I'm starting to feel like the one being punished all of a sudden.” Kyoshi sauntered closer to Rangi, but kept a respectable distance as if afraid she might scare her away by coming too close too abruptly.
“Oh really? You seemed pretty amused a second ago.”
“That was before you kind of lashed out at me,” Kyoshi murmured.
Rangi sighed. She could definitely feel the burn now. “Whatever. I'm almost done. You're just going to have to wait.” She fell deeper into the stance to punctuate her statement. Though she had to admit, a few loose hairs had been tickling her nose in the breeze for a while now, and it was starting to drive her mad to not push them behind her ear. But keeping her arms in position in fists at her waist was part of the stance. Just five more minutes.
Kyoshi was clearly bored of the whole thing at this point. She crossed the rest of the way over to Rangi, leaning down low to meet her at eye level a few inches in front of her face. It was annoying just how low she had to stoop with Rangi in this stance. All the more reason for Rangi to be the one who usually put Kyoshi through stance training. Rangi expected her girlfriend to say or do something, but Kyoshi just stared at her.
The blush crept back onto Rangi's cheeks as she had no choice but to absorb every freckle on Kyoshi's copper-toned face, every tiny fleck of gold dotting her dark green eyes, every crease of her lips. Rangi almost lost her count before realizing that was exactly why Kyoshi was doing absolutely nothing. She was neutral jing-ing her as a distraction—tempting Rangi to forget her task without taking any real initiative so that the Avatar also couldn't take any blame.
The reemergence of a scowl on Rangi's face startled Kyoshi. She stepped back instinctively, tripping over her own skirt. “Wh-whoa!”
Rangi instantly reached out to stop Kyoshi's fall, but somehow they both wound up in a pile on the yellowed grass. A sonorous laugh burst from Kyoshi as she automatically ran her hands through Rangi's silky black hair. “Sorry, that wasn't exactly what I meant to have happen!”
Once Kyoshi stopped laughing, Rangi propped herself up on her girlfriend's chest. She glowered at Kyoshi before breaking into a grin and leaning forward to kiss her.
“Joke's on you. Time was up anyway.”

Shadow of Kyoshi spoilers ahead…
okay so *cracks knuckles* it’s been less than a day since I finished SoK, but here’s some Rangshi thoughts.
My initial reaction when I first got to the last scene between them was – I feel weird saying this, but I felt weirdly a little disappointed? Don’t get me wrong, I loved the scene itself!
“I can’t tell you anything for certain about the future. Only that I’ll be there with you” followed by Rangi kissing the top of Kyoshi’s head (what a sweet flip of their usual dynamic)
This is super sweet and reassuring. I think my initial disappointment was twofold – for one, we got SO MUCH of them together in the first half of this book, so I was missing that. But I also think I felt surprised a whole month passed and the last time we saw them together was when Kyoshi left Rangi behind by earthbending her in place and flying away to do something, well, dishonorable. And she didn’t want Rangi to be a part of it, of course, because Rangi’s honor means almost as much to Kyoshi as it does to Rangi.
But once I thought about it more, I think my disappointment wasn’t actually about Rangi and Kyoshi at all – it was about what I have come to expect from YA (and adult) romances, both on screen and in books. So often, relationships are “will-they-won’t-they” until the climax, where the Hero gets their Love Interest in a Grand Sweeping Grand Gesture after the Final Battle.
But that’s been the beauty of Kyoshi and Rangi’s relationship throughout both books – despite their willingness to live and die for each other and having an abundance of heart-achingly romantic moments, they are not about grand gestures at all. What makes their relationship so compelling to me is that they are completely about the smallest, most intimate gestures. From Rangi’s almost off handed “Where you go, I go” to Kyoshi lifting and twirling Rangi around during a moment where she just makes her feel normal, Kyoshi and Rangi are all about the little moments.
This is what I love about the way their relationship is portrayed – from their friendship to their romance, they are about simple acts of loyalty, taking care of each other, and even challenging each other.
And that’s why I think it’s one of the most authentic, realistic, and yes romantic depictions of any relationship ever.
