1: therian and otherkin. I call myself nonhuman broadly because it's simpler and covers both

2: Coyote, cross fox, snow leopard, borzoi, jaguarundy, Gray wolf, orca, lynx/bobcat (not sure which one). Enderman, deity, angel/fallen angel, space/star/alien, zombie, vampire, slime, Eldritch/shadow shifter

3:uuuuuu not rly

4: not a lot tbh. Sometimes I'll have like, some thought/experience that I'm like "oh wow holy shit" but most of the time it's not super big a deal

5: it's low-key a train wreck. Some parts are alright but in general I don't rly like to interact with it. Peoples priorities/opinions are wild and I just try not to deal with it for my own mental well-being (I would need to make a whole ass post to explain this fully)

6: being outside/in my habitat probably. Or clothing or music that reflects my kintypes

7: on occasion, but mostly if I think about it for to long

8: your alterhuminity is your own, and the community is a mess. You can do whatever you want forever as long as youre not hurting others. People are assholes, even in our community, and you should just ignore them. (Again, if need a whole ass other post to explain this in full)

9: I have a mask and some tails currently. I would like some more, and maybe a couple other things but idk. It's not my biggest priority

i came across this post which is about a poetry template made for kids to get creative with words. its a cool poem, and altho it was obviously made for little kids i think a lot of alterhumans could also have fun with it! heres my entry, feel free to write your own in the reblogs or in a separate post ^^

My name is Talon

Today I feel like a swirling void floating aimlessly

Sometimes I am an inhuman creature whose shape is not its own

And sometimes I am a gentle beast that closes its eyes and stretches its wings under the warm sun

But always I am me.

Not feeling like a human and not wanting to be a human =/= misanthropy.

I get the same exact flack when I tell people that I don't feel like a woman. Why is it that others constantly think it's because I secretly have something against women, when that's not the case. It feels like a chore to pretend to be one, much like it's a chore to pretend to be a a human with no atypical shifts and experiences. I have nothing against women, I am just not one.

It's a morally neutral thing to feel disconnected from humanity for whatever reason that might be. It doesn't make you a good or a bad person. I would think that's obvious?

Even some normal human things can be seen as being an alterhuman thing by others. Because a very large gray area exists and overlaps the two. There are some traits that are hard to label as explicitly not human and as explicitly human because nothing in reality exists in a black and white vacuum, where each thing is always the single cause of one or the other.

Personally, I don't fit or feel like I belong in any human culture anywhere on the planet. And some of my experiences are just so completely 'alien', that no one will actually look at it and go 'actually people elsewhere do experience that'. I experience things through a completely alien lens, even though I am sure some people can label some of these traits as part of a normal human experience. But due to the way I internally perceive it in my brain, it comes out as feeling very much not human in flavor.

Others can still have atypical human experiences and still consider themselves to be fully human anyway. It depends on the individual and on a case by case basis on how they want to label themselves as.
