apparently there are a bunch of tiktokers planning to migrate to tumblr so i'm on my knees begging PLEASE THERIANS OF TUMBLR. AIM TO EDUCATE. NOT BE MEAN. I used to fakeclaim fictionkin and people who had more than 3 kintypes and now I literally kin the concept of dissociation I promiseee i PROMISEEE THEY CAN LEARN.... Being mean won't help they'll just be pushed away aim to educate and do it at a slow pace. Let them know therianthropy isn't/isn't just a connection, and use the term otherhearted as proof. Ask them what's wrong with identifying as an animal physically, and tell them that anti-therians will hate us anyways and there's no point alienating parts of the community that do nothing wrong. Gently let them know that not every alterhuman has the ability to do quadrobics and that saying it's required for an identity is ableist. BE PATIENT. BE KIND. IF YOU'RE NOT THEY WON'T LISTEN. BEING HARASSED WAS WHY I KEPT HATING ALTERHUMANS WHO WERE SOMETHING OTHER THAN THERIAN/OTHERKIN.. BEING HARASSED WAS WHY IT TOOK AGES FOR ME TO ACCEPT THERIOGENDER BEINGS. BEING HARASSED WAS WHY I COULDN'T EVEN COMPREHEND CONCEPTKIN FOR MONTHS. Listen. How about you just.. use whatever term you feel most comfortable with. No matter if it doesn’t fit the most common definition or if you made it yourself or if it will likely change soon. Just be comfortable with now, and that can also mean going unlabelled. Because in such a time where knowing everything about you is encouraged, it’s fine to admit you just don’t know something yet.

I think we need to start putting up some of those classroom kindness posters in the nonhuman community or something. Can we all just calm the fuck down please and stop acting like territorial animals butting horns. Someone experiencing nonhumanity in a way that is different to you doesn't mean they're faking it. If this person's identity and self expression isn't causing any harm then it's not an issue! you can't justify cyberbullying someone just because "they made me mad".

It's really not that deep. Someone getting their theriotype wrong? not a big deal. Someone accidentally makes a mistake with their terminology? not a valid reason to harass them. Someone has a common theriotype? doesn't mean they're faking. This person identifies as physically nonhuman? also not a valid reason to harass them.

This community has so many fascinating critters and beings, there are so many wonderful acquaintances and conversations to be found. So please let's all calm down and read some posters.

Here's a reminder that your kin experience may not be the same as that of other people or the majority of our communities. Do not put yourself in a mold. Embrace yourself and how you truly are. How you feel is how you feel. Do not base your sense of self on people you don't know. I have been struggling with self-doubt about recently discovered kintypes (dandy's world kintypes). I convinced myself for a second that I was somehow lying to myself about my connections and that I was just being silly. And I still feel like that. But it is harmful to ignore it in order to feel "valid" in the eyes of everyone. How I feel is how I am. And I am learning to accept that.

What is an otherfix?

An otherfix is an alterhuman/nonhumans/alterbeing/otherhuman whose identity is influenced in some way by a hyperfixation.

Almost any alterhuman(or nonhumans,ect) can be otherfix.

Example: a fictionkin involontarily identifies as a creeper (hostile mob in Minecraft) because he has a hyperfixation in the Minecraft game.The creeper is therefore his fictiotype and his fixtype.

An animalkith feel a huge connection with beetles because he has a hyperfixation on this animal. So he is a otherfix beetlekith.

An otherlink voluntarily chooses to identify as a kitsune, because it helps him live with his hyperfixation on this.
