History: Aldrich Ames, Former CIA Agent
After the Soviet Union collapsed in 1991 and Cold War ended, the era of traditional spies was far from over.
In the 1990s and into the new century, four major moles in the U.S. intelligence community who were still spying for Russia were arrested for espionage. The first of those moles to be caught was Aldrich Ames.
Tumblr media
Aldrich Hazen Ames was arrested by the FBI in Arlington, Virginia on espionage charges on February 21, 1994.
At the time of his arrest, Ames was a 31-year veteran of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), who had been spying for the Russians since 1985. Arrested with him was his wife, Rosario Ames, who had aided and abetted his espionage activities.
Ames was a CIA case officer, who spoke Russian and specialized in the Russian intelligence services, including the KGB, the USSR’s foreign intelligence service. His initial overseas assignment was in Ankara, Turkey, where he targeted Russian intelligence officers for recruitment. Later, he worked in New York City and Mexico City, Mexico.
On April 16, 1985, while assigned to the CIA’s Soviet/ East European Division at CIA Headquarters in Langley, Virginia, he secretly volunteered to KGB officers at the USSR Embassy, Washington, D.C. Shortly thereafter, the KGB paid him $50,000.
During the summer of 1985, Ames met several times with a Russian diplomat to whom he passed classified information about CIA and FBI human sources, as well as technical operations targeting the Soviet Union. In December 1985, Ames met with a Moscow-based KGB officer in Bogota, Colombia. In July 1986, Ames was transferred to Rome, Italy.
In Rome, Ames continued his meetings with the KGB, including a Russian diplomat assigned in Rome and a Moscow-based KGB officer. At the conclusion of his assignment in Rome, Ames received instructions from the KGB regarding clandestine contacts in the Washington, D.C. area, where he would next be assigned. In addition, the KGB wrote to Ames that he had been paid $1.88 million by them in the four years since he volunteered.
Upon his return to Washington, D.C. in 1989, Ames continued to pass classified documents to the KGB, using “dead drops” or prearranged hiding places where he would leave the documents to be picked up later by KGB officers from the USSR Embassy in Washington. In return, the KGB left money and instructions for Ames, usually in other “dead drops.”
In the meantime, the CIA and FBI learned that Russian officials who had been recruited by them were being arrested and executed. These human sources had provided critical intelligence information about the USSR, which was used by U.S. policy makers in determining U.S. foreign policy.
Following analytical reviews and receipt of information about Ames’s unexplained wealth, the FBI opened an investigation in May 1993.
FBI special agents and investigative specialists conducted intensive physical and electronic surveillance of Ames during a 10-month investigation. Searches of Ames’s residence revealed documents and other information linking Ames to the Russian foreign intelligence service. On October 13, 1993, investigative specialists observed a chalk mark Ames made on a mailbox confirming to the Russians his intention to meet them in Bogota, Colombia. On November 1, special agents observed him and, separately, his Russian handler in Bogota. When Ames planned foreign travel, including a trip to Moscow, as part of his official duties, a plan to arrest him was approved.
CIA Analyst Aldrich Ames is arrested by FBI agents outside his home on February 21, 1994. Ames provided a wealth of secrets to the Soviets, leading to the compromise of more than 100 U.S. intelligence operations and to the deaths of 10 American assets.
Tumblr media
Aldrich Ames is arrested outside his suburban home in Virginia in 1994. He had spied for the Russians for nearly a decade.
Aldrich Ames and his wife both pled guilty on April 28, 1994. Aldrich Ames was sentenced to incarceration for life without the possibility of parole. Rosario Ames was sentenced on October 20, 1994 to 63 months in prison.
Ames was later debriefed by FBI agents, at which time he detailed compromising the identities of CIA and FBI human sources, some of whom were executed by Soviet authorities.
Pursuant to his plea agreement, Ames forfeited his assets to the United States, and $547,000 was turned over to the Justice Department’s Victims Assistance Fund.
Ames is serving his sentence in the federal prison system. Rosario Ames completed her sentence and was released.
And the other moles? Harold Nicholson, Earl Pitts, and Robert Hanssen were all identified, arrested, and sent to jail.

New York and London 60-80s in the photo by Evelyn Hofer 🇺🇸 🇬🇧
Evelyn Hofer (* January 21, 1922, Marburg an der Lahn; † November 2, 2009 in Mexico City) was a photographer of German descent who later took on Mexican and American citizenship. Over decades, Hofer created a body of work that independently developed the tradition of August Sander's conception of images and also used color photography early on. Hilton Kramer, art critic for the New York Times, called Hofer "America's most famous 'unknown' photographer."

For those that don’t live in USA, there are a lot of websites that have the same information on a worldwide scale, cities & countries all over the world, and there are also astrologers that specialize in travel & synastry with your own chart, which is fascinating and fun to play with. SH is getting ready for the wine & food festival in Manhattan! at the HRPK's Pier 76 this week. The interesting thing is that Sam knows very well the host, Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirit, and Lee Brian Schrager. Is this a coincidence?
Tumblr media
Lee Brian Schrager, who is also the Senior Vice President of Southern Glazer's Wine & Spirit of America (SGWSA). He has worked primarily with Food Network South Beach and New York City Wine and Food Festivals. If you haven’t heard of Schrager, a little dive into SH’s photo with him in Coconut Grove -Miami will give you a better understanding of why Sassenach whisky is in NEW YORK CITY WINE & FOOD FESTIVAL and why SH participate in all surrounding Southern Glazer's Wine & Spirit.
Tumblr media
Why SH was invited to the Keepers of the Quaich event as a highlight, this question could be answered with another question.
Do you remember SH night dinner at Mr C in Miami - in Coconut Grove with Lee Brian Schrager* Senior Vice President of Southern Glazer's Wine and Spirits, LLC.
Well, one of the Keepers of the Quaich - USA (KOTQUSA) members is Vice President Wayne E. Chaplin, CEO of Southern Glazer's Wine and Spirits. Southern Glazers Wines and Spirits is SH’s alcohol distributor 🥃 🍸 in the United States, with operations in 44 states. Sam's activities in the USA 🇺🇸 are related to Southern Glazers Wine and Spirits, including his quick participation in the @tales_of_the_cocktail event and the podcast in New Orleans.
Tumblr media
Founder/Director of SOBEWFF Lee Brian Schrager, and President/CEO of Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits of America Wayne E. Chaplin
The most interesting thing is the rival of Southern Glazers Wine and Spirits in the alcohol business is no less than ... Total Wine & More, and Sam plays the game of both sides.
Well, how very convenient, because that's just exactly what he is looking for.
* Lee Brian Schrager Senior Vice President of Communications and Corporate Social Responsibility at Southern Glazer's Wine and Spirits, LLC.

@imahalfemptykindofgirl Aye!, I saw it. SH might have the same Top Shelf Las Vegas staff with Chrissy Beaudette Tinelli showing visitors his SS drink, but Reservebar still insists on one thing in particular: that his fans buy his booze 🥃🍸🫤
Tumblr media
@imahalfemptykindofgirl Probably the same effect as in Las Vegas 😴 It’s too expensive for a Blended whisky!. A whisky that would disappear without the name Sam Heughan . The Macallan Sherry Oak 12 Years Old Single Malt Whisky is cheaper than SS whisky - $92.00
Tumblr media
ReserveBar- The Macallan Sherry Oak 12 Years Old Single Malt Whisky - $92.00
SS whisky at Master of Malt costs £81.95 equals $99.36 US dollars. Why do you pay? 💰 $141.99 equals £117.11 for a blended whisky, tax and shipping. It’s not a lighter whisky. 🥃 The whisky is described as smooth and you cannot taste the fruity notes. ReserveBar makes business at the expense of the naïves who believe everything Sam says obsessively.

La Amiriḳa⁩ - ⁨לה אמיריקה
Tumblr media

Peace and Love, Black Family!
✊🏾🟥⬛️🟩✊🏾
Nas' album "Hip Hop Is Dead," released in 2006, was a provocative statement that generated significant discussion in the music world and beyond. The title track, "Hip Hop Is Dead," is often interpreted as Nas' critique of the state of hip-hop at the time, suggesting that it had lost its originality and authenticity. This sentiment resonated with listeners who felt that the genre was becoming too commercialized and disconnected from its roots in the Black community.
💯
The impact of hip hop on the upliftment of the Black community is multifaceted but an illusion like the return of Jesus. Hip hop emerged as a powerful expression for Black and Brown youths in urban 🇺🇸 cities, originating in the Bronx, New York, in the 1970s. It provided a platform for storytelling, sharing experiences, and addressing social issues like poverty, racism, and police brutality. Over the years, hip-hop artists have used their influence to raise awareness about social injustices and inspire change. It has been instrumental in shaping culture, fashion, language, and art within and beyond the Black community.
🤔
Hip-hop has created an economic system that has profited every other community but the Black community in truth. It’s a blessing that street kids with no education have become multi-millionaire artists, producers, and entrepreneurs to succeed in an industry they have no significant control over, but what about the rest of us? This economic empowerment has been crucial in lining the pockets of Jewish executives at the expense of Black folks across the nation.
💯
In summary, while Nas' statement about hip hop being dead was a critique of the genre's state, he didn’t lie! And those with wisdom knew it had to be said! Wake the f*ck up! HIP-HOP IS DEAD. 🪦
😡

Here's where things get weird, the emphasized phrase in the headline equates to 3 out of the four ciphers as the phrase 'President Kamala Harris'

Obviously, 2022 was a shitshow in many regards. Lots of bad stuff happened, particularly in the world in general, and in my personal life, too. Nevertheless!
I’d like to take a minute to acknowledge the good things that happened in my life as well, because while they don’t won’t make the bad things any better, the good things matter, too – they’re just easier to forget 🙃
So because I love making lists, I made a list! And then debated whether or not to post it on here or to just keep it to myself and my loved ones, but eh, what’s the harm in sharing? Most of you won’t be interested in reading about all this of course, but maybe some of you are, and maybe it’ll remind someone else of the good things that happened in their life as well. Who knows.
So, here goes (I’ll start off with some fandom things and put the more personal stuff & some pics under the cut):
Most importantly (lol) (no but really): I finally saw Chris in the flesh this year, at the Lightyear premiere in London, on his birthday. AAAHHH 😭💙🌟
Sebastian was nominated for an Emmy and a Golden Globe this year!!! 🏆
Both our boys had a highly successful 2022 and we got so much amazing content from both of them ✨️
I made some wonderful new fandom friends (you know who you are) who made this year infinitely better, and this fandom gained a ton of incredibly talented authors and artists whose beautiful writing I got to enjoy. Thank you all, from the bottom of my heart, for making my own & many people's lives a little (a lot) better 💘
I wrote a few fics that I’m really proud of this year (even if I’d have liked to have written more) and I'd like to think I’ve grown and improved as a writer compared to last year✍️🏻
I got another Stucky tattoo ❤️
I met up with some very awesome fandom pals in real life, twice! @ohhsodebonair & @puppypeter - I love you to bits 🥰💫
I got to go back to some of my absolute favourite cities in the world in 2022. I went to London (and Oxford) twice this year, and I saw some of my best friends again for the first time since moving back to the Netherlands/since the pandemic, which was absolutely wonderful 🇬🇧
I went back to Italy, for the first time in years and spent a couple of glorious weeks in Florence and Venice in springtime, drinking wine and revisiting all my fave spots from when I used to go there a lot as an art history student 🇮🇹
I went back to New York in the autumn and also got to see beautiful Boston for the first time, and had an amazing vacation there which included a few other first times as well (first time seeing Harvard, first time seeing the Phantom of the Opera on stage, first time visiting Madison Square Garden, first visit to the MoMA and seeing Starry Night etc.) 🇺🇸
I’ve been self-employed for a few years now, and this year was a considerably better one for my business than last year (I put in the hours too, maybe a little too many hours, but it did yield results) 🪙
I spent lots of time with my friends and their little ones and got to see them grow and turn into amazing little people 🥺💖
I got back on track with running and am back to doing weekly 10ks now 🏃🏻‍♀️
I started doing Duolingo again for Italian and it went way better than expected (all that stuff I learned during all those language courses over the years is still there somewhere!) 🦉💚
I figured out some really complicated stuff this year (health stuff and financial stuff) and I’m quite proud of myself for persevering until I had the answers I needed 💪🏻
There were several moments this year, particularly in the last month or so, where I looked back at a situation that had occurred previously and realised how much I had learned from it, and that I handle similar situations differently now. Call that growth, I guess 😌🌱
Tumblr media
Alright, that’s the gist of it, I think! If anyone else would like to share their highlights too, I’d love to read about them!! 💗 And here's to 2023: maybe it bring us all more good stuff than bad stuff! 🙏🏻💫
And because I can't help myself, a little collage of some of my favourite pics/moments from this year 🥰

🎟️Tickets available Nov 14
The Berlin premiere of “All of Us Strangers” by British director Andrew Haigh (“45 Years”) marks the celebratory conclusion of the 18th edition of AROUND THE WORLD IN 14 FILMS on Saturday, December 9th, 2023. Only at the end of August 2023 Andrew Haigh's “All of Us Strangers” celebrated its world premiere at the American Telluride Film Festival. The 18th World Cinema Festival presents the “surreal romance” (Vogue) in its “Closing Night”. The on-screen appearances of Andrew Scott and Paul Mescal, two of Ireland's hottest actors, are likely to provide star power. Lead actor Andrew Scott shone in his role as Moriarty in the BBC cult series “Sherlock” and other appearances in “James Bond 007: Specter” and “Fleabag”. Paul Mescal, star of the British series "Normal People", attracted worldwide attention with his moving performance in the independent hit "Aftersun". Director Andrew Haigh will also have fond memories for Berliners: his masterpiece “45 Years” won the Silver Bear at the Berlinale in 2015, which the leading actors Charlotte Rampling and Tom Courtenay received.

Save HIFF Love & Anarchy 🇫🇮
The future of HIFF – Love & Anarchy, one of Finland’s most significant film festivals, is under threat. HIFF is now calling on its audience to help. There are three types of tickets available for the support screenings, and you can support with either 25 €, 40 € or 100 €. The tickets will go on sale on 29.11.2023 at 11.00.
One of the most popular guests in the history of HIFF has been the Irish actor Andrew Scott, who visited Helsinki in 2014. It is only appropriate that we are the first in Finland to screen a film that will be one of the highlights of his career.
All of Us Strangers, directed and written by Andrew Haigh, is one of the highlights of the autumn. The film, which received top reviews at Telluride and the New York Film Festival, is a drama about loneliness, grief and a longing for love that gets under your skin.

On #PresidentsDay, remember & share what we could have had again — the Clinton Era:
—Surplus
—22 million new jobs
—4-balanced budgets due to the superb compromising ability of Bill Clinton
—7 million fewer Americans living in poverty
—Minimum wage up 20%
—Assault Weapons Ban
—Brady Handgun Violence Prevention Act
—Campaign Against Teen Pregnancy: all-time low abortion rates
—Office on Violence Against Women
—Violence Against Women Act
—Children’s Health Insurance Program: 8.9 million children insured
—Family and Medical Leave Act
—Incomes rising at all income levels
WATERGATE:
Youngest lawyer ever appointed to an impeachment trial. 26-year-old Yale Law graduate Hillary Rodham.
CHILDREN’S DEFENSE FUND:
Investigated African American juveniles being placed in South Carolina adult prisons, and posed as a racist housewife to expose segregation throughout schools in the South.
FIRST LADY OF ARKANSAS:
Hillary successfully reformed the entire K-12 Arkansas educational system, expanded healthcare for those in rural Arkansas, worked at the Arkansas Children’s Hospital Legal Services, and co-founded the Arkansas Advocates for Children and Families. First female partner of the Rose Law Firm.
The joke in Arkansas was that they “hired the wrong Clinton.”
FIRST LADY OF THE UNITED STATES:
Hillary spearheaded the Adoption and Safe Families Act, the Foster Care Independence Act, Office on Violence Against Women, the Campaign Against Teenage Pregnancy (lowering abortion and teenage pregnancy rates), and the Children’s Health Insurance Program — providing 8.9 million low-income children with healthcare access.
In 1994, Hillary proclaimed on the world stage in Beijing, China:
“If there is one message that echoes forth from this conference, let it be that human rights are women’s rights and women’s rights are human rights once and for all.”
TWO-TIME NEW YORK SENATOR:
Hillary secured 20 billion in federal funds to rebuild downtown New York City after 9/11. She also secured healthcare for 9/11 First Responders and expanded access to care for the National Guard, Reservists, and their families.
U.S. SECRETARY OF STATE:
Passed the first-ever U.N Resolution on gay rights (proclaiming: “human rights are gay rights and gay rights are human rights” on the world stage), and made it so trans Americans can legally change their gender on their passport. Hillary also rebuilt relations with every nation after the disastrous Bush Administration, traveling to 112 countries — more than any other Secretary of State. Our worldwide favorability rose 20% during Hillary’s tenure. Her primary focus was on women’s rights and health, bringing up issues such as forced abortion and maternal mortality rates. Hillary re-opened relations with Burma, enacted a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas, and killed Osama Bin Laden. She also was instrumental in putting together the Paris Climate Agreement, something Trump has since removed us from.
*Three-time popular vote winners
*Two-time White House occupants
Presided over our last great era — the pragmatic 1990s.
“Don’t hate the player, hate the game.”
The Clintons: two players that got actual results for the American people.
Vilified for playing the game and winning.
Haters have been hating since Arkansas.
Happy Presidents Day Bill & Hillary.
Made for the White House.
🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Should be in the Oval Office right now.

#3MillionMoreVotes
#TrumpIsIllegitimate
#StolenBy #Russia & #Comey
We were robbed.
2016 was stolen from the American people.
We should be outraged forever.
#PutinDestroyingUsFromTheInside
Don’t believe the Russian-bots when they lie and spread propaganda about the Clintons.
The Clintons are a good family that genuinely cares about the American people.
“There is nothing wrong with America that cannot be cured by what is right with America.” ~President Bill Clinton

Yo + HoHoHo Fix Tho: God Saved Restored The Apple.🍎 🍏 9-11.🇺🇸 New York - New York City
such a sad day in my Spacedom! The sky fell ,and The Heaven’s Outstretched Hands was Kingdom Come to a land. We can’t change that unfortunate outcome, but God gave us the wisdom to help keep nefarious deadly tactics , + actions at bay and from occurring and ruling our emotions in a way we can have Faith in God —Yo Creator—, and rest easily due to our states government and heads of congress hard at work.

Amy Sherald (USA, b. 1973)
https://palianshow.wordpress.com/2024/08/30/amy-sherald/
Happy Birthday Amy 💌❤️🌺📚🍷🎁
#bornOnThisDay Amy Sherald (born August 30, 1973) is an American painter. She works mostly as a portraitist depicting African Americans in everyday settings. Her style is #simplifiedrealism, involving staged photographs of her subjects.

Since 2012, her work has used grisaille to portray skin tones, a choice she describes as intended to challenge conventions about skin color and race. via Wikipedia
🇺🇸 Born in Columbus, Georgia, and now based in the New York City area, #AmySherald documents contemporary #AfricanAmerican experience in the United States through arresting, intimate portraits.
Sherald engages with the history of photography and portraiture, inviting viewers to participate in a more complex debate about accepted notions of race and representation, and to situate #Blacklife in American 🇺🇸 via Hauser & Wirth
