This is the story of the late RSV Yulia Waxer.

Yulia immigrated to Israel from Ukraine. She married and was the mother of two children. Yulia joined the police and served in the southern district of Karlshit as a police officer, and on October 7 she worked in the Neva party's CPC. Houthis, Yemeni government reach financial “de-escalation” deal

The Yemeni government and the Houthi group have reached a significant agreement to de-escalate tensions related to the banking sector and air travel, Arab media reported.

According to a statement released today by the UN special envoy for Yemen, Hans Grundberg, the two sides agreed on a number of measures. These include cancelling recent decisions against banks, resuming and increasing to three daily Yemenia Airways flights between Sanaa and Jordan, and operating flights to Cairo and India as needed.

They will also address the administrative, technical and financial challenges faced by Yemenia Airways and convene meetings to discuss economic and humanitarian issues based on a roadmap.

The parties have sought UN support for these commitments, and Grundberg acknowledged Saudi Arabia’s significant role in facilitating the agreement.

However, the governor of Yemen’s central bank, which supports the internationally recognised government, resigned in protest against the deal, citing fears that ending central bank decision-making would reinforce Houthi domination of the banking sector.

Earlier, Houthi leader Abdul Malik al-Houthi accused Saudi Arabia of economic pressure on his movement after Riyadh instructed the Yemeni government to relocate commercial and banking centres from Sanaa to Aden in the south of the country and halt flights from Sana’a International Airport, threatening to attack Saudi banks, airports and ports in response.

In April, Yemen’s Central Bank in Aden decided to move the main offices of commercial and Islamic banks, as well as local and foreign microfinance organisations operating in Yemen, from Sana’a to Aden within 60 days, promising to take legal action against those who fail to do so.

Grundberg announced late last December that the Yemeni parties had reached an agreement to implement a series of measures aimed at establishing peace, including agreeing to respect a ceasefire across Yemen and beginning preparations for the resumption of an inclusive political process under the auspices of the UN.

For the tenth consecutive year, the Arab country has been plagued by an ongoing power struggle between the internationally recognised government and an Iranian-backed Shiite group. The consequences of the conflict have caused a serious humanitarian crisis.

Fuel Crisis in Gaza: No New Supplies Since War's Start, Warns US Envoy

Gaza - Since the start of the Israel-Hamas conflict in early October, there hasn't been any new fuel delivered to Gaza, according to US Special Envoy for Middle East Humanitarian Issues, David Satterfield, who made the statement on Saturday. Fuel that was stored in depots accessible to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) in Gaza before October 7 has been utilized by UNRWA for various purposes. This includes the transportation of aid via trucks from the Rafah terminal to distribution points, the operation of desalination plants, and the supply of fuel to hospitals in the southern Gaza region. This was the first time since Saturday that sirens had been heard in many of these areas. The barrages came a day after Israel officially proclaimed a state of war as the dead toll from the devastating Hamas attack surpassed 700 and was anticipated to increase much further, with the fate of more than 100 persons who had been kidnapped and taken to the Gaza Strip still unknown, according to the Times of Israel. President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva of Brazil recalled his ambassador to Israel on Monday, as tensions escalated between the countries over the Brazilian leader’s sharp remarks against Israel’s war on Hamas.

Mr. Lula summoned the ambassador, Frederico Meyer, back to Brazil “for consultations,” according to a statement from the country’s foreign ministry.

Israel’s foreign minister, Israel Katz, reprimanded Mr. Meyer on Monday about comments in which Mr. Lula compared Israel’s actions in the war to the Holocaust.

“What is happening in the Gaza Strip with the Palestinian people has no parallel in other historical moments,” Mr. Lula told reporters during the 37th African Union Summit in Addis Ababa, the capital of Ethiopia, on Sunday. But, he then added, “it did exist when Hitler decided to kill the Jews.”

Also on Monday, Mr. Katz said Mr. Lula was not welcome in the country until he takes back his remarks.

Citing “the seriousness” of statements made by Israeli officials, Brazil’s foreign minister, Mauro Vieira, also summoned the Israeli ambassador for a meeting in Rio de Janeiro on Monday, according to the statement.

Mr. Lula’s recall of his envoy does not represent a permanent rupture in diplomatic relations, as Brazil’s Embassy in Israel will remain open. But the discord does highlight a growing rift between Israel and countries that have been reluctant to align themselves in support of its military action in Gaza, most notably South Africa and Brazil.

WOW.  Meet Ro’i.  He was the commander of an IDF Nachal unit when they began their training.  He then moved on to fight in Gaza while his unit continued their training with another commander.  Ro’i was critically injured while fighting Hamas terrorists.  Doctors had to amputate both of his legs to save his life.  Ro’i is now in rehab.  He heard that the unit that he commanded at the beginning of their basic training had finished their training and the soldiers were receiving their berets.  Ro’i insisted on being released from rehab to attend the ceremony.  He was given permission and he not only surprised his soldiers by being there, but he presented them with their new berets from his wheelchair.  This is Israel!  May God bless Ro’i with w long life filled with good health and happiness.

.. Hezbollah Secretary General Naim Kassem on the cease-fire proposal: We have forwarded our comments, stopping the war now depends on the Israeli response.

.. Senior officials in Israel: The two main controversies, pertaining to Israeli freedom of action in Lebanon in the event of a violation, and the composition of the supervisory committee in Lebanon.

▪️OPPOSITION MK EISENKOT.. submitted a bill to finance academic tuition for combatants and supporters of combat, failed in the plenary following opposition from the coalition. Earlier, the coalition asked to postpone the vote in order to examine whether the proposal is possible in terms of budget - but he refused.

Likud: The law "Dimensions for studies" established 100% funding for a bachelor's degree for combat soldiers, passed on Dec. 2023.  Why is the opposition creating a false image?

▪️UN SEC COUNCIL.. attempted to pass a resolution demanding an immediate ceasefire in Gaza without immediately returning the hostages - but with Israel releasing Palestinian terror prisoners.  US veto’d. 

▪️I.C.J.  .. Prof. Malcolm Shaw, head of Israel's defense team at the International Court of Justice in The Hague, at the Security and Democracy Conference of the Israel Democracy Institute: "At the international level, Israel's position is weak. Israel is not Russia. Russia can afford to break the law and get away with it."

▪️MILITARY INDUSTRY.. The aerospace industry reports a backlog of orders of about 25 billion dollars - an all-time record. Among other things, the company presented an increase of about 74% in the net profit in the first 9 months of 2024, this in relation to the corresponding period last year.

❗️IRAQ - reports of Israeli preparations for a pre-emptive strike in Iraqi territory against the Shia militias supported by Iran. Transportation of heavy Iranian missiles to these militias in recent weeks.

♦️LEBANON - Wave of airstrikes through the day.

♦️SAMARIA - JENIN - forces carrying out works to expose terror infrastructures and destroy them, and eliminate terrorists.  IED’s encountered.

♦️SYRIA - significant airstrikes in Palmyra, central Syria.  Enemy report: a meeting was held that included officers from the regime with members of the Iranian militias.

Over 100 victims of the October 7th massacre will file a major lawsuit today in the federal court of New York against the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), alleging it aided in genocide, crimes against humanity, torture, and systematic rape carried out by Hamas during that month.

The plaintiffs are represented by the law firm MM-LAW, which has also represented more than 12,000 victims from over 26 countries of other international terrorist attacks, chemical weapon attacks, torture, and crimes against humanity.

It is time for some accountability.
