Hamas rejected a draft truce with Israel
Palestinian movement representatives have refused to accept the terms of a ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip proposed at peace talks in Paris, Arab Media reported.
Arab TV channels are reporting live:
“The agreement in Paris included a prisoner exchange but completely ignored the ceasefire and withdrawal from Gaza, while the resistance forces consider these issues key.”
Israel had previously agreed to a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip. However, the text of the agreement does not restrict the IDF from carrying out airstrikes on Palestinian territories and does not provide for the withdrawal of Israeli troops.
A new meeting on the situation in Gaza will be held soon in Cairo. Hamas will be briefed on the outcome, after which a final response will be given.

ASHKELON, Israel — Israel was plunged into chaos Saturday after the Palestinian militant group Hamas launched a deadly land, air and sea attack inside the country, with fighters infiltrating the southern border and firing a massive barrage of rockets from the Gaza Strip. "We are in a war," Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared in a video on social media. He ordered strikes on Gaza and called for an "extensive reserve mobilization" as the nation responds to the unprecedented incursion. Over 200 Israelis have been killed and more than 1,200 were injured, a spokesperson for Israel Defense Forces said. The Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza said early Sunday that 256 people were killed, including 20 children, and about 1,788 were injured. Hamas fighters captured a number of civilians and soldiers as hostages, with fighting ongoing in southern Israel many hours after the operation began, the Israeli military said.
We have been able to see the pattern that Hamas fighters have used in today's unprecedented attack: taking as many hostages as possible. The most disturbing content shows hostages being taken from Israel and paraded on the streets. Other videos show high-rise buildings in Gaza being reduced to rubble. Some of the content we have seen is extremely disturbing so we have chosen not to show these. One particularly distressing video shows a woman bloodied and barefoot, with her hands tied behind her back. She is then dragged out of a jeep by her hair and bundled into the back by armed men and driven off. We verified that this was filmed on the outskirts of Gaza city in Sheijia. Another video shows Palestinian militants dragging a lifeless body of what appears to be a soldier out of car. Two men then stamp on the man's body, cheering and lifting their guns up into the air. A crowd of men subsequently swarm the body. A spokesperson for the Israeli Defence Forces has confirmed that "soldiers and civilians" have been abducted by militants.

737805388978831360 Yeah same. Frankly anyone who talks ANYTHING about exterminating or getting rid of all peoples in a population, be it Russians, Palestinians, literally ANY population, gets a hard block from me and so do their mutuals and other people who interact with their posts. How ghoulish does someone need to be to spread that kind of talk on a fandom website.
Posting since this is a response to this previous ask.

IRANIAN FOREIGN MINISTER TO GERMAN FOREIGN MINISTER: PUNISHING ZIONIST REGIME A NECESSITY, GALLANT THREATENS FURTHER RETALIATION, WAR LOOMS OVER REGION
Speaking with the German Foreign Minister, Annalena Baerbock, on Thursday, Iran's Foreign Minister, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, told his German counterpart that the "legitimate defense with the aim of punishing the aggressor is a necessity," following the Israeli occupation's April 1st airstrike on the Consulate section of the Iranian embassy in Damascus, Syria, that killed 7 Iranian personnel, including two high-ranking Generals with the IRGC's elite Quds Force.
Iran has since vowed revenge on the Israeli regime, with Iranian Supreme leader, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei saying during an Eid al-Fitr sermon on Wednesday that the Israeli occupation "should and will be punished" for their "mistake," later adding that the Israelis would "regret the crime" and would soon be "punished at the hands of our brave men."
Meanwhile, United States President Joe Biden reaffirmed his commitment to the defense of the Zionist regime, saying during a news conference on Wednesday that "Our commitment to Israel’s security against these threats from Iran and its proxies is ironclad." (Biden also used the same phrase to reaffirm U.S. military support for the Philippines on Thursday, in the event of a territorial dispute with China in the South China Sea)
Meanwhile, United States Defense Secretary, Lloyd Austin, spoke by phone with Israeli Defense Minister, Yoav Gallant.
During their conversation, the US Defense Secretary used identical language in reaffirming, “ironclad US support for Israel’s defense in the face of growing threats from Iran and its regional proxies.”
“Secretary Austin assured Minister Gallant that Israel could count on full US support to defend Israel against Iranian attacks, which Tehran has publicly threatened,” the readout adds.
The Israeli Defense Minister, for his part, told his American counterpart that any "direct Iranian attack will require an appropriate Israeli response against Iran.
“The State of Israel will not tolerate an Iranian attack on its territory," Gallant added.
Meanwhile, two anonymous Biden administration officials told Politico that they expect Iran was "calibrating its plans for a major retaliatory strike against Israel to send a message — but not spark a regional war that compels Washington to respond."
The two officials told Politico that the Biden administration expects Iran is preparing for a "larger-than-usual" strike on the Israeli entity "in the coming days," adding that the assault is likely to consist of combined missile and drone strikes.
However, according to Politico:
Neither official said they were fully confident Iran will succeed in striking Israel in a way that doesn’t prompt the U.S. to respond militarily, as any attack increases the risk of a greater conflagration in the Middle East. But Iran doesn’t seek to expand the regional crisis further, the Biden administration has long determined, which the officials said may be weighing on Tehran’s planning.
The decisions and behaviors of the United States over the last six months has not been without consequences it would seem, as Joe Biden's refusal to set limits on the Israeli occupation has allowed the Zionist regime to turn Gaza into smoldering blood bath killing and wounding well over 100'000 Palestinians, while in the north, the occupation is on the verge of outbreak of war with Hezbollah, which has already resulted in hundreds of thousands of Israeli colonial settlers in the north of the occupied Palestinian territories to become displaced.
At the same time extremely rash and irrational actions such as the strike on the Iranian embassy, moves meant to spark a larger conflagration, have brought us to the edge of a regional war, looming over the Zionist regime while threatening to blow up in the Biden administration's faces during an election year, dragging the United States into massive war that it cannot win in the long-run.
Even while all this occurs in West Asia, the Biden administration continues its Neocon policies throughout the world, threatening multiple crises in places as far flung as the Philippines, Ukraine, and Haiti, yet the bombast and threats will seem to continue into either the administration is removed from power, or third world war is triggered.
After, what else would we call regional wars sparked in every region of the world?

Excellent interview with Neil Oliver and Col. Macgregor, supported by Ralph Schollhammer & Andrew Eborn discussing both domestic politics and military capabilities of the countries in the middle east, as well as the mentality of the Washington elites. Rather than the personal mudslinging that passes for news, this panel discusses ideas, a concept sorely missing these days in MSM.

And here they can't even make it ten steps in before they flee like scattered mice.
We should talk more about what happens at the borders than the destruction in Dahiyeh, Beqaa, Baalbek and Hermel. Show the world the losses of the Israelis not just our own!
Israel has launched a ground invasion of Lebanon. There are no hostages in Lebanon. But they never mattered anyway because Israel is a filthy, supremacist ethno-state that wants to expand its borders and colonize the rest of the region. Israel has been threatening to do this for 40 years, still scorned by the resistance and solidarity of Lebanese people who pushed them out in 1978, in 1982, in 2006.

Surgeon worked in Gaza feels “criminalised” after being refused entry to France
A British surgeon who testified about Israel’s war on Gaza after operating during the conflict said he felt criminalised after being refused entry to France at the weekend, The Guardian reports.
Prof Ghassan Abu-Sitta, a plastic and reconstructive surgeon, was due to speak about the war to the upper house of the French parliament on Saturday. However, after arriving at Charles de Gaulle airport north of Paris on a morning flight from London, French authorities informed him that Germany had enforced an all-Schengen ban on his entry to Europe.
Abu-Sitta said he was unaware that German authorities, who had previously refused him entry to Berlin in April, had imposed an administrative visa ban on him for a year, meaning he was barred from entering any Schengen country. Abu-Sitta said on Sunday:
“What I find most difficult to accept is this complete criminalisation.”
He added that he was previously told by authorities he would be unable to enter Germany for the month of April.
Yanis Varoufakis, former Greek finance minister and leader of the leftist MEPA25 party, commented on this situation on X:
“Banning an eyewitness from testifying before the French Senate, thus protecting Israel’s right to commit genocide with impunity, is a new low for the EU. The impression is that the EU authorities are doing everything they can to justify Brexiteers. Unprecedented stupidity in action!”

From River To The Sea Palestine Will Be Free 🇵🇸🇵🇸🇵🇸
-----
Edit 1: took the first video down because turns out the animator is a terf and it links to her blog. Really sorry for any distress.
Edit 2: All recommended readings + Haymarket recommendations + essential decolonization texts have been uploaded to my linked gdrive. I will adding more periodically. Please do buy or check them out from the library if possible, but this post was made for and by poor and gatekept Global South bitches like me.
Some have complained about the memes being disrespectful. You're actually legally obligated to make fun of Israeli propaganda and Zionists. I don't make the rules.
Edit 3: "The river to the sea" does not mean the expulsion of Jews from Palestine. Believing that is genocide apologia.
Edit 4: Gazans have specifically asked us to put every effort into pushing for a ceasefire instead of donations. "Raising humanitarian aid" is a grift Western governments are pushing right now to deflect from the fact that they're sending billions to Israel to keep carpet bombing Gazans. As long as the blockades are still in place there will never be enough aid for two million people. (UPDATE: PLEASE DONATE to the Gazan's GoFundMe fundraisers to help them buy food and get out of Rafah into Egypt. E-SIMs, food and medical supplies are also essential. Please donate to the orgs linked in the How You Can Help. Go on the strikes. DO NOT STOP PROTESTING.)
Edit 5: Google drive link for academic books folder has been fixed. Also have added a ton of resources to all the other folders so please check them out.
Edit 6: Added interactive maps, Jadaliya channel, and masterlists of donation links and protest support and of factsheets.
The twitter accounts I reposted as it was given to me and I just now realized it had too many Israeli voices and almost none of the Palestinians I'm following, so it's being edited. (Update: done!) also removed sources like Jewish Voices of Peace and Breaking the Silence that do good work but have come under fair criticism from Palestinians.
Edit 7: Complete reformatting
Edit 8: Complete revamping of the social media section. It now reflects my own following list.
Edit 9: removed some more problematic people from the allies list. Remember that the 2SS is a grift that's used to normalize violence and occupation, kids. Supporting the one-state solution is lowest possible bar for allyship. It's "Free Palestine" not "Free half of Palestine and hope Israel doesn't go right back to killing them".
Edit 10: added The Palestine Directory + Al Jazeera documentary + Addameer. This "100 links per post" thing sucks.
Edit 11: more documentaries and films
Edit 12: reformatted reading list
Edit 13: had to remove @palipunk's masterlist to add another podcast. It's their pinned post and has more resources Palestinian culture and crafts if you want to check it out
Edit 14 6th May '24: I've stopped updating this masterlist so some things, like journalists still left in Gaza and how to support the student protests are missing. I've had to take a step back and am no longer able to track these things down on my own, and I've hit the '100 links per post' limit, but if you can leave suggestions for updates along with links in either the replies or my asks I will try and add them.
Edit 15 10th August: added to Palestinian allies list and reworked the Help for Palestine section. There's been a racist harrassment campaign against the Palestinian Tumblrs that vetted the Gaza fundraisers based off one mistake made by a Gazan who doesn't understand English. If you're an ally, shut that shit down. Even if you donate to a scam GFM, you're only out some coffee money; if everyone stops donating to all the GFMs in fear of scams, those families die.

Using "Legalize" as a term to cover up the theft of people's homes and livelihoods is expected at this point from the NYT. The "free" press is complicit in the manufacturing of consent to not only destroy Gaza, but to also annex the West Bank. Free Palestine.
