these holidays follow the lunar/athenian calendar, so I will either be providing the moon phase or Athenian date and the corresponding Gregorian months. also this is pretty obvious but these are just very general descriptions of these holidays, to give you an idea of which you think you'd like to practice. no one is forcing you to do every single one of these, nor is it expected. do whatever works for you.

HEKATE'S DEIPNON

when: during the new moon phase purpose: honor Hekate and the souls of the restless dead, cleanse self and home activities: a meal set out at Hekate's altar (often including garlic, raw eggs, cake, leeks/onions, or fish), a sacrifice (usually of an animal, but it can be your choice), and burning of incense and/or cleaning house as purification deities honored: Hekate, the dead

NOUMENIA

when: the first day a sliver of the moon can be seen purpose: a day of rest and feasting activities: offer frankincense, flower garlands, wine, and barley cakes on the altars that had been cleaned the day before deities honored: household gods like Hestia, Hermes, Hekate and Zeus, celestial deities like Apollo and Artemis, or personal protective deities (like Athena was for Athens)

when: 6th (for Artemis) and 7th (for Apollo) of Thargelion (May/June) purpose: celebrating the birthdays of Apollo and Artemis activities: the beating and banishment of an ugly man and woman (as purification, but you could just do the usual cleaning and incense burning) on the 6th. offerings of the first harvests were given to Apollo (but you could just cook a dish and offer part of it), a procession of children carrying a wreath with fruit, honey, wine, oil, and bread along with singing on the 7th. deities honored: Artemis and Apollo

THESMOPHORIA

when: 11th-13th Pyanepsion (October/November) purpose: honoring Demeter's loss of Persephone to the Underworld activities: a procession of women up to a space where men were banned, sexual activity was abstained from, they lived primitively (fasted and sat on a floor of branches), and sacrificed of piglets in the first days. then had feasts and prayed (often for things Demeter could provide, like good harvests or fertility) on the last day deities honored: Demeter and Persephone

Spoonie Witchcraft- Full moon

So I have been thinking about low energy magic. As someone who is disabled I haven't had the energy to do withcraft the way I used to. I have not been doing much at all for the last year. There has been no moon water made, no ritutual magic, and I haven't even been able to smoke cleanse my home.

I have been stressed financially, as well as in extreme pain this past year. I decided to see what other spoonies had to say about what to do on a full moon. I want to do something, but I am not sure what I can or am able to do. I went to my witchy discord servers and Facebook groups and asked around. I also thought of a couple of ideas on my own as well.

Here are some ideas to use for the spoonie witch.

Sit outside under the full moon. This would be called moon bathing but sometimes theres a full ritual around it. However, just sitting out under the full moon and basking in its light is good enough. This is also only if weather permiting. Don't go out into a hurricane or other severe weather. You may just end up being blown away instead.

Prayer. Praying to the God's you believe in or work with in silence. Praying to your ancestors and giving them thanks for thier guidence and wisdom. Obviously this is more for pagan witches and not for the atheists.

Sigils. You can do sigils everywhere. You can draw a sigil on your palm and visualize its purpose. For example, drawing an abundance sigil and visualize money coming to you. It's a good simple spell. Can also draw sigils in your food with a knife or other utensil depending on what you are eating. Peanut butter jelly time!

Birthday candles. Using birthday candles in candle magic instead of regular candles can be a quick spell and still work just as effectively. Making wishes on cake is magic. Maybe make a wish on a chocolate swiss roll.

Tea and coffee. You speak intentions into your drinks. Maybe have a full moon tea blend and do this when the sun goes down. You can buy different blends of tea on etsy or at a farmers market.

Watching youtube videos. Watch videos about magic and the full moon. There might even be a live meditation on there you can join in on.

Tarot readings. A low spoonie tarot reading. A basic 3 card spread that is for fun and not the deep soul searching/healing that you may normally do. Another tarot idea is just to pull one card to just see what the message would be.

Gemstones on nightstand. Put stones on your nightstand that have the intentions you'd like to draw to you. For example, amethyst for protection against nightmares. Maybe green adventurine for bringing in luck and abundance to your life. Use black obsidian for protection against gossip. Well, by now, you get the idea.

Cleansing. There are multiple methods of cleansing. If you have enough energy, a small ritual shower could be what is needed to get more energy. Or, at the very least, feel more refreshed. If you can't stand for a shower, soaking in a tub with salt water will work. You may use a shower chair for the shower if you have one. I use a bar of soap that is hand-made by other witches. They tend to put essential oils and intentions, so there is a cleansing effect. If you are too low energy for that, going back to youttube idea; they have cleansing meditation music. You can sound cleanse with the music. You may also play witchy ambient music. There are a vast number of options for sound cleansing.

Journaling. Journaling is something that can be done lying down. You can find some journal prompts on Tumblr, or you can find them on pintinterest. You can do shadow work journaling as a form of releasing. It's fun to select a new journal or even get a fancy pen.

Dressing up. If you have a witchy shirt, dress, or robes. It is fun to dress up on the full moon in honor of the moon. Like going to a magical witchy party. I have 2 witchy dresses, a witchy sweater, and a long sleeve stars and moons blouse. I also have a regular black dress for if I want to be more subtle.

Self care. It is okay to just watch a movie or binge watch a favorite TV show. You could also read a book for fun. If you are very into astrology, depending on the astrological sign of the moon phase, self care would be more important. Tomorrow, the full moon is in Pisces, and there is a lunar eclipse. Self care may be the best option during this full moon in September.

The Harvest Moon is the full Moon that occurs nearest to the autumnal equinox date (September 22, 2024). This means that either September or October’s full Moon may take on the name “Harvest Moon” instead of its traditional name. Similarly, the Hunter’s Moon is the first full Moon to follow the Harvest Moon, meaning it can occur in either October or November.

The Harvest Moon & the Hunter’s Moon are unique in that they are not directly related to this folklore or restricted to a single month. Instead, they are tied to an astronomical event: the autumnal equinox!

• October’s full Hunter Moon orbits closer to Earth than any of the other full Moons this year, making one of the four supermoons of 2024!  As the Moon drifts over the horizon around sunset, it may appear larger & more orange—how perfect for the fall season!

It is believed that this name originates from the fact that it was a signal for hunters to prepare for the upcoming cold winter by going hunting. This is because animals were beginning to fatten up in preparation for the winter season. Moreover, since fields had recently been cleared out under the Harvest Moon, hunters could easily spot deer & other animals that had come out to search for remaining scraps. Additionally, foxes & wolves would also come out to prey on these animals.

Samhain is about halfway between the autumnal equinox & winter solstice. It is one of the four Gaelic seasonal festivals along with Imbolc, Beltane, & Lughnasa. Historically it was widely observed throughout Ireland, Scotland, & the Isle of Man. 

Samhain is believed to have Celtic pagan origins &  some Neolithic passage tombs in Great Britain & Ireland are aligned with the sunrise at the time of Samhain. It is mentioned in the earliest Irish literature, from the 9th century & is associated with many important events in Irish mythology.

The early literature says great gatherings & feasts marked Samhain when the ancient burial mounds were open, which were seen as portals to the Otherworld. Some of the literature also associates Samhain with bonfires & sacrifices.

• According to Irish mythology, Samhain (like Beltane) was a time when the 'doorways' to the Otherworld opened, allowing supernatural beings and the souls of the dead to come into our world; while Beltane was a summer festival for the living, Samhain "was essentially a festival for the dead".

•The festival was not recorded in detail until the early modern era. It was when cattle were brought down from the summer pastures & livestock were slaughtered. Special bonfires were lit, which were deemed to have protective & cleansing powers.

At Samhain, the aos sí were appeased with offerings of food & drink to ensure the people & livestock survived the winter. The souls of dead kin were also thought to revisit their homes seeking hospitality & a place was set at the table for them during a meal. Divination was also a big part of the festival & often involved nuts & apples.

Mumming & guising were part of the festival from at least the early modern era, whereby people went door-to-door in costume, reciting verses in exchange for food. The costumes may have been a way of imitating & disguising oneself from the aos sí. 

• In the late 19th century, John Rhys and James Frazer suggested it had been the "Celtic New Year", but that is disputed.

Some believe it is the time of The Goddess' mourning the death of The God until his rebirth at Yule. The Goddess' sadness can be seen in the shortening, darkening days & the arrival or cold weather.

• Halloween( October 31st)-

In popular culture, the day has become a celebration of horror, being associated with the macabre and supernatural.

•One theory holds that many Halloween traditions were influenced by Celtic harvest festivals, particularly the Gaelic festival Samhain, which are believed to have pagan roots. Some go further & suggest that Samhain may have been Christianized as All Hallow's Day, along with its eve, by the early Church. Other academics believe Halloween began solely as a Christian holiday, being the vigil of All Hallow's Day.

Popular Halloween activities include trick-or-treating (or the related guising & ghouling), attending Halloween costume parties, carving pumpkins or turnips into jack-o'-lanterns, lighting bonfires, apple bobbing, divination games, playing pranks, visiting haunted attractions, telling scary stories, & watching horror or Halloween-themed films

• Day of the Dead(November 1st-2nd)-

 el Día de Muertos or el Día de los Muertos

The multi-day holiday involves family & friends gathering to pay respects & to remember friends & family members who have died. These celebrations can take a humorous tone, as celebrants remember amusing events & anecdotes about the departed. It is widely observed in Mexico, where it largely developed, and is also observed in other places, especially by people of Mexican heritage.

•The observance falls during the Christian period of Allhallowtide.

Traditions connected with the holiday include honoring the deceased using calaveras & marigold flowers known as cempazúchitl, building home altars called ofrendas with the favorite foods & beverages of the departed & visiting graves with these items as gifts for the deceased.

 The celebration is not solely focused on the dead, as it is also common to give gifts to friends such as candy sugar skulls, to share traditional pan de muerto with family & friends, & to write light-hearted & often irreverent verses in the form of mock epitaphs dedicated to living friends & acquaintances, a literary form known as calaveras literarias.

 Some argue that there are Indigenous Mexican or ancient Aztec influences that account for the custom & it has become a way to remember those forebears of Mexican culture.

• All Saint's Day(November 1st)- 

Also known as All Hallows' Day or the Feast of All Saints is a Christian solemnity celebrated in honour of all the saints of the Church, whether they are known or unknown.

Myths of the High Priestesses

- Headcanon Speculations -

The lore and legend of High Priestesses past have largely been lost to the ages; although scattered findings and enduring myths sweep away some of the dust from the buried tales of Elune’s chosen.

Haidene - Bearer of the Basin

Haidene was the first known chosen of Elune in all of the Kaldorei’s recorded history. It is said that she heard the Goddess’s true voice, and as a child no less.

An unsubstantiated legend tells that Haidene heard the will of the Goddess to make pilgrimage across Kalimdor and create the very first independent moonwell for the burgeoning Kaldorei to thrive across the continent, and that Haidene used the iconic basin as a vessel of safekeeping for the blessed waters of the Well of Eternity. Haidene supposedly experienced dire straits on this pilgrimage; she and her kin on the brink of fatal thirst. Haidene gathered what little of their water remained, enough to sustain her for far longer if she chose to drink from it alone. The others pleaded with Haidene to drink deep and preserve herself, for she was the very incarnation of the Goddess. In a selfless act of faith, she cast the basin skyward and beseeched Elune, that she would give herself in body and soul if only it were filled, so her people could live to see another moon, and press on to the bountiful lands ahead. It is said that for her benevolence, Haidene was granted the title of High Priestess by goddess and kin alike. It was on this night that Elune taught Haidene the sacred artisanry of the ever-flowing moonwell, the very same that still persists in her statues today. It is only rumored, but this moonwell could have been the one nestled in the heart of ancient Moonglade, having since flourished into Lake Elune’ara.

Tales that have only endured by way of oral tradition say that Haidene's blessed waters were shared in the first feast of Lahassa during the earliest epoch of the Kaldorei. There are even theories that the sacred Chalice of Elune may have belonged to Haidene, the relic permanently blessed from this momentous celebration made possible by Elune and the land’s combined bounty.

Elunarian archaeologists claim that Haidene may have established the temple in Desolace, known today as the Palace or Sanctuary of Elune. A place so ancient that its real name has been lost and blotted out by demonic desecration. Many of the relics recovered here are thematically linked to Haidene: The Cup of Elune as a relic of physical and spiritual cleansing, and Elune's Handmaiden as a relic of celebrating victory and sacrificial offering. The embers recovered here from Elune’s Brazier may have indeed been borne from an actual flame, or they could be remnants of Elune’s liquid fire; an apt medium for High Priestess Haidene.

Kalo'thera - Ascended of the Stars

Kalo’thera was the next known chosen of Elune, following Haidene. Her name evokes meanings along the lines of “stellar warrior.” Unfortunately, there are no known depictions of Kalo’thera's true likeness; although some choose to stylize her in darkling garbs and armor reminiscent of the new moon, due to purported ties to Elune’s Night Warrior aspect.

It is said that Kalo'thera “ascended to the stars” at the temple of old Hajiri, though these ancient words have not been elucidated further. None now live who remember seeing Kalo’thera’s ascension ritual with their own eyes, but there are a myriad proposed theories as to what this could have meant.

She may have fulfilled all of her earthly duties as wished by Elune, or proved herself an exemplar through astounding feats; and was rewarded with the status of demigoddess for her service as high priestess. Some believe that Kalo’thera now exists as a constellation in the realm of midnight from this divine act, perhaps other demigods and demigoddesses represented in this form as well.

She may have been slain in battle, “ascending to the stars” perhaps referring to her joining the Night Warrior’s embrace along with the other souls of the valiant dead riding across the night sky. The story of this ascension ritual might then be a widespread coverup by those who witnessed Kalo’thera’s true end.

She may have invoked the ritual of the Night Warrior, subsequently being torn apart in body by the wrath of the new moon. Ancient legends speak of the Night Warrior’s power being used as the driving force for carving out the Kaldorei Empire, Kalo’thera perhaps spearheading the expansion with this dark boon to wrest lands from the myriad world powers of the Pre-Sundering age.

Old myths describe a rare and lost regalia, called nightcloth, almost as if an opposing material to mooncloth. This was supposedly worn during the expansion era to better blend into the shadows of nightfall for battle, some claiming by Kalo’thera and the other Night Warrior witnesses. The exact origins and techniques of crafting nightcloth seem to have faded along with history; however, there are speculations that this fell out of favor within the Sisterhood due to the dangerous associated ritual that ended up slaying the invoking avatars, and even onlookers. Kalo’thera may have been the one to engrave the tablets of Bashal'aran describing the Night Warrior and the other aspects of Elune. There is a deep blue, nearly black, flame in the heart of the Ameth’aran ruins as well. Some Elunarian scholars theorize that perhaps its color owes to the Night Warrior’s midnight powers. This flame was later twisted by Athrikus Narassin using a moonstone seal to bind souls in a spiritual prison; curiously still, souls thought to be under the purview of the Night Warrior. Some say that Kalo’thera was the first to be granted knowledge of the Starshards spell by the Goddess, its namesake partially deriving from Kalo’thera. A superstition of the Sisterhood claims that it is Kalo’thera herself who now grants moonpriests this power, crystallizing pieces of starlight and raining them down from the midnight heavens to her earthbound descendants who call upon the aid of the stars.

Dejahna - Zenith of Conviction

Dejahna was the third known chosen of Elune, following Kalo’thera. She was the mentor and predecessor to Tyrande Whisperwind.

Those who braved the Tomb of Sargeras, once Dejahna’s primary temple in life, claim to have seen her incorporeal form. If her spirit is at all reflective of her appearance in life, then Dejahna preferred dark robes, with silver accents and blue gemstones. It may have been customary for a High Priestess to don specific garbs, as Tyrande replies to the news of her appointment to this position with, “I’ll become high priestess—at least until this war is over—but I will keep my present garments—” (Demon Soul, Ch. 17) Dejahna’s darkling robes could also be due to her presiding over the burial site in the depths of the temple, perhaps a ceremonial garb for rites involving the dead.

Some say that Dejahna’s harshness and austerity arose from Kalo’thera as her assumed mentor; others say that an influx of unfaithful Highborne attempting to join the Sisterhood as a last resort was seen as a mockery of the order. Dejahna supposedly then raised the standards of entry to rigorous heights, some dubbing her the Zenith of Conviction for her high expectations from novices.

Given Azshara’s growing distance from the faith, and attempts to eclipse Elune with devotion from her subjects, old rumors claim that Dejahna held a particular bitterness for the queen by the outbreak of the War of the Ancients. This may have been in part due to Azshara’s appointment of her own High Priestess: Siralen of Vashj’ir.

Dejahna’s temple hosted a handful of templars, perhaps this ancient version of a lunar paladin having once been a prestigious rank within the faith.

An ornate vial was recovered from the Cathedral of Eternal Night, whose glass was said to “bear the mark of Dejahna.” It is unclear what this mark truly is, but it could be that each High Priestess, or even priestesses as a whole, have personal sigils rooted in the Elunarian language similar to a common signature. This vial could have been her personal vessel of moonwater, or one of many that she bestowed blessings upon by way of this mark. Considering its name of "Eternal Moon,” this may refer to the blessing or enchantment on the vial lasting eternally or having a resilient quality to its magick; as it did survive the temple sinking to the bottom of the ocean, being raised again by Gul'dan, and being pillaged by demonic forces and adventurers alike.

The upper levels of Dejahna's temple contained the "Hanging Gardens," which were actually tended to by an ancient named Agronox before he fell to corruption. It could be that because this temple was the heart of night elven worship in the empire, an ancient's service in a temple was a rare sight; or, Agronox's existence here could mean that others of his kind served alongside Kaldorei priestesses in other parts of the Pre-Sundering world as well.

Dejahna fell in battle during the War of the Ancients, and named Tyrande as her successor to take the mantle. This is an interesting development, as it would seem like such a position is granted directly by Elune, as seen with Haidene. However, in Demon Soul, Marinda is sent to deliver the message of Tyrande’s succession: “‘Before her death, she named a successor…’ Tyrande nodded. This was to be expected. The new high priestess had, of course, immediately sent out messengers like Marinda to spread the word of her ascension.” This being “expected” implies that naming a successor was a traditional practice in passing on the mantle. Supposedly as Dejahna was dying, she “insisted that only her attendants would know.” (Ch. 17) This could just be referring to healers seeing to her wounds, or it could be that within the Sisterhood at this time, there may have been a specific rank for tending to the High Priestess; an interesting parallel to the handmaidens of Queen Azshara. Marinda also reveals “…that, normally, there would be a ceremony, a long entailed one that as many worshippers as possible would be invited to see.” Elunarian faithful from all over Kalimdor likely traveled great distances to see such a monumental event. This role in general also seemed heavily involved at the time, “leading this chant and that. The temple also held a blessing each evening for the rising of the moon and the good will of the gods. In addition, the leading nobles always had to have some sort of recognition ceremony for various anniversaries and other events…” (Ch. 17)

A final piece of High Priestess lore we learn from Marinda comes from the reasoning behind Dejahna’s choice: “She was of clear mind, sister. And you should understand, she had made mention of you before this. The senior sisters all understood that you were the one…and no one among them argued the decision.” (Ch. 17) This uncovers an interesting dynamic in the old Sisterhood then, that there was at least a dialogue among the senior sisters, if not a democratic process settled through debate around the next chosen High Priestess.

Siralen - The Contended

“Let this statue stand as an everlasting testament to High Priestess Siralen in the name of all she has done to nurture Quel'Dormir Temple into a glowing beacon of faith. May her newfound service under Queen Azshara herself shine as a testament to the potential of the noble birth nurtured in our beloved, Vashj'ir.”

The case of Siralen is a strange one, as she was not passed this mantle from a High Priestess within the Sisterhood – as was tradition. She was instead granted this title by Queen Azshara, supposedly for strengthening the faith of Quel’dormir Temple in the royal city of Vashj’ir. It is interesting to speculate how priestesses across Kalimdor reacted to this decision: whether they saw it to be just as divine an act as being appointed by Elune herself or a current High Priestess, or if they disagreed with a bestowal that strayed so far from the role’s sacred history. Many of Azshara’s epithets insinuate that she was viewed favorably in tandem with the goddess, such as Daughter of the Moon, Flower of the Moon, and Radiance of the Moon. Although, others lean towards eclipsing Elune’s worship, like Light of a Thousand Moons, for example. In any case, the appointment of Siralen then introduces the question of authority, and whether the High Priestess of the Sisterhood was considered of higher, lower, or equal status.

Noteworthy still that her service is “under Queen Azshara herself,” and it could be that this nurtured faith was actually to the Queen, as Elune is conspicuously not mentioned anywhere in this engraving. It also reads, “a testament to the potential of the noble birth nurtured in our beloved, Vashj’ir,” perhaps alluding to a growing and more obvious class divide between the highborne and common Kaldorei; or at least the boundless arrogance of the highborne caste.

The New Assignment

Post-Mastermind What If

The day after the trial, IMP has a new assignment, one that no one outside hired them to do. Nobody told Stolas, primarily because they were afraid he might have a heart attack if he knew.

Just a little one shot I tossed together in the emotions of the last episode, a ‘what if’ for something I would honestly love to see happen. So… spoilers for Mastermind, if you haven’t seen it yet.

This might work its way into the Stolitz soul mate fic I’m starting as soon as Loveless Bond (which is looking like it might have its own sequel) concludes.

“You’re actually going to go to work?”

“Yeah, of course. Gotta capitalize on the good PR while people remember it.”

Stolas sat on the small, ratted couch, hands folded between his knees as he watched Blitzø move around the living room of his apartment preparing to leave for his job. Behind him, he heard the sounds of Loona rooting around in their tiny kitchen, but he couldn’t exert the effort it would have taken to turn his head to see what she was doing; the only reason he was watching Blitzø at all was because the imp was in his line of sight.

I’m in his home.

It didn’t feel real. Nothing felt real; not the apartment, nor the previous day, nor even Stolas himself, as though he were a walking shadow of himself silently gliding through a netherworld constructed solely from the stones of his own fears and insecurities, a self-manifested and self-inflicted torturous space that existed exclusively within his own psyche. He was disconnected from his magic, which meant he was disconnected from the stars, an energy he had been constantly in touch with since he received his destiny as a small child. It was akin to being disconnected from his own soul, the place where it had once been now a chasm of ice and empty darkness.

He couldn’t let himself think about Octavia. If his mind lingered on her, even for a moment, he felt he might simply collapse into a catatonic shell from which he would never emerge.

Instead, Stolas kept watching Blitzø, focusing on him looking for his phone to cleanse his own mind of the image of the other demon chained and kneeling at a chopping block. At the time, Stolas’s actions had felt… natural. So natural, in fact, that they were practically a reflex, his body moving to intervene in the trial before his mind had fully registered what he was seeing. It wasn’t simply the reality of Blitzø facing an unjust death, but the undeniable fact that he never would have been there in the first place if Stolas hadn’t been so utterly foolish and hadn’t failed so thoroughly at protecting Blitzø from consequences that Stolas was fully aware of. It was true that Stolas had known he would never lay eyes on Blitzø again, but he had told himself time and again that at least Blitzø was out there somewhere, running his business and killing humans and taking care of his daughter. If Blitzø was alive, Stolas knew that he could find a way to carry on.

But now, Blitzø was in the same room as Stolas. Stolas was, in fact, inside Blitzø’s own home, which he had never once thought he would lay eyes on. He was wearing Loona’s clothing and (somewhat) wrapped in a small blanket with colorful cartoon ponies all over it. It was surreal enough that, the more Stolas marveled at its strangeness, the more he found himself able to take in his surroundings and truly marvel at this insight to the life of the demon he had loved for what felt like countless lifetimes but had never been given the freedom to truly know or understand.

I didn’t know homes could be so small.

Stolas remembered the last full moon, at least as much as he ever allowed himself to think on it, and thought back to Blitzø’s assertions that Stolas lived an ignorant and privileged life (even if the imp hadn’t put it quite that way). At the time, Stolas had found the claim ridiculous; his own living spaces were nowhere near as extravagant as many other Goetia, and the palace had been quite dramatically simplified following Paimon’s disappearance. He watched Hellanovella religiously despite being told that it was trash meant for common folk, he attended common festivals, he patronized common businesses… Hell’s sake, he even went to Loo Loo Land not infrequently for several years and that place was more of a death trap than most anywhere else in the Greed Ring. Stolas had always thought of himself as more grounded and self-aware than most other Goetia, who (as a whole) seemed to have less than no interest in the populations that made up most of the Rings.

But that had been more than delusion, hadn’t it? Stolas could see, now, just how completely blind he was and how utterly willful that blindness had been. This entire apartment was roughly the size of his own bathroom, and it was living quarters for not just one, but two demons.

He truly was right about me, wasn’t he?

“Mmkay, Stols, up. Let’s go.”

Stolas blinked, his blurred vision refocusing on Blitzø fastening his coat. “Go?”

“Yeah,” Blitzø said, looking at Stolas and raising his brow. “You can’t possibly think I’m leaving you here alone, not after yesterday. Loonie and I are going to the office, and you’re coming with us.”

Stolas stared at him, fingers clenching in the pony blanket and drawing it closer around himself like a shawl. “…b-but—”

“Stolas,” Blitzø said, just a little more firmly. “I’m not asking. I’m not risking anything happening to you while I’m gone, and if you want a reason to comply that isn’t self-preservation, I don’t wanna see what someone might do to my apartment if they tried. Okay?”

“…yes. Of course,” Stolas said, slowly rising to his feet.

Loona stopped and looked him over, frowning a little. “Gonna wear the ponies all day?”

Immediately, Stolas felt his cheeks flushing. “O-oh! Right, of course.”

Before he could rectify the embarrassing little situation and place the blanket back on the couch where he had found it, Blitzø waved his hand. “Ignore her,” he said airily. “She’s just jealous that you’re allowed to use my special rare misprint Pony Valley Princess Warrior island adventure four-part special commemorative limited run blanket.”

“Oh, yeah, I’m giving Leviathan a run for their money over here,” Loona said dryly. “The fact that one of those ponies has an upside-down face is just so cool.”

“Yes. It is,” Blitzø said with a firm proudness, completely ignoring Loona’s sarcasm, which was heavy enough that even Stolas could tell. “Bring it if you want, Stols, the office can be pretty cold. Millie gets downright genocidal if she finds the place too hot.”

“I…” Stolas wasn’t sure how to respond to that. He tightened his grip on the blanket again. “…alright. …thank you.”

He followed the other two to the door, barely remembering to duck underneath the ceiling fan, and spared another glance for the wall of photographs near the front entrance. He thought he might have been imagining it when he first arrived, but no; in every single picture that featured Blitzø, his face had been violently scribbled out with what seemed to be a permanent marker.

The day after the full moon, Stolas had been so dismissive at Blitzø’s admission of insecurity, seeing it as both a sympathy tactic and an unnecessary admission of his obvious dislike of himself. Now, he was wondering if the imp wasn’t criminally understating what he truly thought he himself was worth.

He would need to find a way to ask about it.

Apparently, the van had been destroyed in their attempts to escape arrest, so the three began walking to the building that held IMP headquarters. It was early enough that there weren’t many people around, and Stolas was grateful for that, uncertain he would handle having things thrown at him any better than he had the previous evening. Blitzø and Loona made idle conversation as they walked; Blitzø directed his words to Stolas not infrequently, and while he was appreciative of his attentiveness, he wasn’t much of a conversationalist at the moment. It was strange, how calm and patient Blitzø was being with him, and Stolas couldn’t help wondering when the other shoe would drop. What if Blitzø kicked him out? What would he do then?

Stolas had only been in IMP headquarters once, and it looked very different when he followed Blitzø and Loona inside that morning. After passing the door with a sign stating the office would be closed for the next week, Stolas saw they weren’t the first to arrive. Four young imps that he had never seen before were scurrying around, cleaning up what looked like the results of a great deal of evidence destruction. There were scraps of shredded and burned paper everywhere, destroyed costumes, broken furniture… despite how alarming it was, Blitzø looked the four of them over. “You came back,” he observed.

Immediately, the four young imps froze, turning in unison to stare at him like wild animals facing down a speeding truck. “…yes, sir,” one of them said, the one who put off the strongest assertive air. “Why wouldn’t we?”

“Y’know, the whole… decoy thing that could have gotten you killed or whatever.” Blitzø waved one hand. “Thought it might put you off the internship idea.”

The four youths looked at each other before they turned back and the one who appeared to be their leader spoke again. “Is… was yesterday unusual for this line of work?”

“Only a little!” Blitzø said, turning and crossing the room. “Good work, you four, keep making this place look like it’s functioning.”

Stolas ducked into himself as he followed, aware of the strangers staring at him with a mixture of confusion and disgust. He leaned close to Loona, murmuring, “Who are those?”

“Interns,” she muttered back. “Dad hired them because they work for experience. Don’t know their names, won’t learn them.”

“I see.” Stolas moved back again, resisting the urge to look backwards and instead following the other two into what appeared to be a small conference room off the main office. There was a long table that looked as though it would comfortably seat around twenty people, as well as a large whiteboard at the front of the room, but the only other occupants were Millie and Moxxie. They were sitting on the same side of the table near the whiteboard, both of them deeply engaged in their own quiet conversation that only stopped when Moxxie raised his eyes and noticed their arrival. “You’re here,” he observed.

“You got the interns working quick,” Blitzø said as he began rounding the table.

“Well, duh,” Millie said. “I don’t wanna clean it up, you won’t, Loona definitely won’t,”—Loona made a wordless sound of agreement—“and I ain’t lettin’ ya drop it all on Moxxie. Here,” she concluded, holding out a to-go coffee cup. “Thought maybe we could all benefit from a lil’ pick me up and no there ain’t no bourbon in it.”

“Aw,” Blitzø said, frowning at the coffee.

“It’s got an extra shot, don’t whine.”

“Here, Loona,” Moxxie said, offering her a cup as well. “You guys walked? You know we could have picked you up, right?”

“It’s out of your way.”

Whatever Moxxie and Blitzø were saying proceeded to escape Stolas’s notice as Millie crossed over to him and offered a cup to him as well, extending her arms almost completely up over her own head. “Here ya go, Yer Highness,” she said with a complicated sort of smile.

Stolas didn’t respond at first, until he fully registered what she was doing. “…that’s for me?”

“Mhm,” Millie nodded. “Knew Blitzø’d make ya come in with him, an’ I figure you ain’t used to wakin’ up early for office shit.”

He wasn’t sure what to say to that. He decided on, “Thank you,” before he carefully took the warm cup from her. “…and you should simply call me Stolas, Millie, there is hardly any need for formality.”

At that, her smile turned into something more warm and genuine. “Okay, Stolas,” she said with a nod. “Oh, me an’ Moxxie didn’t know whatcha might want in yer coffee, so we guessed. Hope it’s okay.”

“I’m sure it’s lovely,” he assured her, fully aware that he would appreciate such a kind gesture no matter what it tasted like. It turned out, however, that they were fairly close in predicting his taste, as the latte was primarily coffee and steamed milk with just a little sweetened vanilla. Out of curiosity, he glanced at Blitzø—he’d taken the lid off of his cup, and Stolas could only see whipped cream covered in pink and green sparkly sprinkles—and resisted the urge to laugh. It seemed that they were both as predictable as they were chaotic, at times.

“Okay, everybody, sit down,” Blitzø said, taking his place standing at the head of the table and picking up a blue dry erase marker. He reached up, using his hand to wipe away the majority of what appeared to be an unflattering caricature of Wally Wackford. “You all got your assignments last night. I want updates.”

Stolas, after a moment of hesitation, sat a few chairs down from Loona so he could observe the meeting without directly inserting himself. The hellhound pulled out her cellphone, turning her attention to it. “The target has posted fuck all on her socials,” Loona said. “Not that I expected it, of course, but her Voxtagram and QuackChat are silent and she hasn’t logged into CHttR in nearly a week. I shot her a DM on Voxtagram, but she hasn’t opened it; I’m willing to bet her phone was taken for her own good or some other bullshit.”

Blitzø nodded. “Alright. Mills?”

“Security was rampin’ up late last night,” Millie said. “Drove past th’ place and they already had a construction crew movin’ shit in. I’m guessin’ they’re correctin’ th’ weak points you were exploitin’, but it don’t seem like they’re thinkin’ about keepin’ us out explicitly. Gotta keep an eye on how fast they’re workin’, but if we move quick we can probably take advantage of th’ construction to get in.”

“Fabulous. Moxx.”

“Case law isn’t my strong suit, like I said,” Moxxie admitted, and Stolas felt himself perk up just a bit in spite of himself. “That said, I found a handful of pretty old cases that might have set precedents we can exploit. Of the two I’m most sure of, one of them is out of Gluttony, and with Beelzebub’s apparent standing with the nobility I don’t know how seriously they would take it. The other one is out of Wrath, though, and I doubt Satan would dismiss his own judgment out of hand.”

“Beautiful. Keep looking,” Blitzø said, pointing at him. “Loona, keep looking for any other way we might have to get in contact with her; if she’ll talk to anyone, she’ll talk to you, I’m still positive about that. Millie, keep an eye on the construction and keep me updated on the progress. Moxxie, keep… reading, I guess, and give me the cases you’ve found so far.”

Moxxie gave him a dry look. “Why, because you’ll understand them better?”

Blitzø laughed, once. “Ha! Fuck no. Because I’ll take them to an overlord or some shit, I dunno yet, find someone who’s got more legal experience than we do.”

“Um…” Stolas said, his soft interjection somehow loud enough to get all of the eyes in the room on him. “You said… case law? From the other Rings?” When Moxxie nodded, Stolas continued, “I have a great deal of experience with legal documents. I’ve even acted as legal advisor to Lord Asmodeus. If… I mean, if it isn’t inappropriate, I would be glad to go through anything at all you need examined.”

Blitzø looked at Moxxie, who hesitated, then gave his boss a shrug. “…okay, Stolas,” Blitzø said. “You wanna bore yourself and help Moxxie out, you’re more than welcome to.”

Stolas nodded. “Very well. …what, precisely, is the job you’re working?”

“It isn’t a job, really,” Moxxie said evasively. “I mean, no one hired us for it. Or… Blitzø did, I guess. It’s more of an assignment, really, or—”

“We’re breaking into your old place and kidnapping your daughter,” Blitzø interrupted.

If anyone else responded, Stolas didn’t hear it, too busy spraying a mouthful of coffee across the conference table. “What?!” he nearly squealed the moment he stopped spluttering, getting to his feet quickly enough to knock his chair over backwards. “You’re going— You want to— Do you actually think— Are you out of your fucking minds?!”

Blitzø’s smile didn’t change, except for his little forked tongue to poke out for a second. “Kinda,” he said, his tail swishing behind him, a sure sign he was so goddamn pleased with himself.

“Did all of you forget what happened yesterday??” Stolas came around the table, focusing on Blitzø and Blitzø alone. “You barely managed to avoid execution, Blitzø. Don’t you think they’ll be keeping a close watch on you from now on? They will be anxiously awaiting any chance to withdraw your status as the only pardoned Hellborn in history! Why the fuck would you go out of your way to give them a reason?!”

“Stolas,” Blitzø said firmly, reaching up and taking him by the upper arms with strong and steady hands. “Look at me.” Stolas drew a shaking breath, forcing himself to calm enough to look at Blitzø without speaking. “Your ex is a crazy fucking bitch. Your brother in law is a crazy fucking bitch. Octavia isn’t safe there anymore, not without you to look after; you really think Andraelphus is just gonna let her keep living her life the way she has been? You think his massive ego isn’t gonna start immediately dick swinging and making it everyone else’s problem?”

“I know, of course I know,” Stolas said sharply, glancing away. “Do you think I haven’t already thought of everything that might happen to my daughter in the event that I’m…”

When he trailed off, Blitzø squeezed his arms a little, drawing his gaze back. “I know you have,” he said. “I’m not telling you, Stols, I’m reminding you. What I am telling you is I don’t leave people behind. No matter what we escaped from, I wouldn’t leave Loona or Millie or Moxxie. I know it’s dangerous. That’s why we don’t leave people behind.”

Stolas stared at him. “…you hardly even know her,” he said, his voice weak. “She isn’t one of your… Why would you do something like this? You’ve only met her twice!”

Blitzø frowned at him. “She’s your daughter,” he said, like it was the most obvious thing in the world. “What else do we need to know?”

It wasn’t often that Stolas was rendered speechless, but each time it had happened, it was always because of Blitzø. The imp took advantage of his stunned silence to steer him back to his chair, and Millie put his coffee back in his hands as Moxxie finished wiping the table down. They then returned to their discussion about, of all things, breaking into Stolas’s former home and abducting his daughter.

Despite everything that had happened, no one spoke with any level of uncertainty or hesitation, at least not about anything besides the individual ideas for how to proceed. They had been arrested, dragged before Satan himself, mocked and ridiculed by the entire Goetian court, very nearly beheaded, and in spite of such horrific events, they were planning to kidnap a Goetian princess less than a full day later.

Because they care about her, he thought. Because… because he cares about…

Stolas felt his eyes welling with tears, and he turned his head down, focusing on keeping himself calm as he simply listened to three imps and a hellhound plot to risk their lives saving a member of the class that had almost unilaterally declared them worthless the day before.

Stolas was at a complete loss, trying to grapple with such an action and wondering what he could have possibly done to deserve such kindness. He knew, however, that no matter the outcome, he would be eternally grateful for each and every one of them.

Saw someone mentioning the idea of Callum resisting dark magic and unlocking a new third arcanum, and lemme tell you. I think it would be cool if he unlocked it without using dark magic himself.

My reason is that if he can do it without dark magic, that would be a great way of showing his progress. He still fights the darkness, but he can finally trust himself to save the people he cares about, not dark magic.

Hear me out:

Scenario A - Aaravos controls him again. I understand the reasoning for how Aaravos did it the first time was the fact that Callum used dark magic and was tainted, and now he's clean. But i think it would make perfect sense if it's not that simple. Yes, Callum's soul is cleansed, but the darkness still sticks, and Aaravos yanks that out of him (maybe add Callum screaming for extra effect).

Make it that Rayla, despite promising, can't kill him. She just can't bring herself to do it, and Callum is forced to fight the darkness himself.

He unlocks the third arcanum by fighting that small bit of darkness that is left and fighting off Aaravos' control. Being able to fire off his brand new spell at Aaravos.

Scenario B - In the midst of battle or something, maybe Callum is knocked out or trapped in some illusion. In this moment, he is faced with that dark version of himself from the first time he fought dark magic.

It's egging him on, telling him he needs the magic, he's useless without it, he can't win without it. But just as he begins to reach out to the darkness (the dark magic cube), he hears Rayla call his name.

He remembers his promise. He remembers Kosmo's warnings of being overwhelmed by the darkness, and just as he did in the beginning, he rejects the darkness. Knocking the cube from his dark counterparts hand.

Then, boom! New arcanum unlocked.

As for what arcanum it would be. I think the moon would be great, but fire would be cool, too. Personally, i believe Moon would be best, tho.

Even if nobody will like me for that, I come first. I take care of me first. How can I be a genuinely kind person when I can’t even be kind to myself?

That’s sort of the learning process you’ve had to go through until you reached this plateau of clarity on how an individual can maintain personal autonomy even when you’re still a part of the group. In spite of your age and how much you’ve experienced in Life, I don’t think you’re anywhere near finishing learning hahah Wise people never stop learning anyway. But for now, I think you’ve graduated some level of a meaningful spiritual masterclass with flying colours~!���

When the bells rang for morning mass, the metal clashed and the rich and poor rushed to the church to cleanse themselves of their sins, she was among the masses.

He had always seen her, his white flower, his star that stood out from the crowd and that he could only see at night when she shone so beautifully.

He himself on his horse, which rode like a shadow through the streets of Paris, made his way to the church, always sending his carriage. Snowball knew he had to gallop quickly to get there before the people arrived and the judge arrived.

He got off his horse in front of the wooden door and got there a minute before she did. In his hand was the mass-produced ring, which he put back into the kelien casket when he saw the carriage arrive from the dark wood.

The horses white as the clouds overhead, white as the moon and the stars, white and pale as his favorite. His darling, his love, she had him completely under her spell.

It had been like a witch ever since he had seen her when she had lifted her veil to wipe away the tears that seemed to be in her eyes like the stars ever since he had looked under the clothes of the fine veil it had been true for him she was the most beautiful thing on this planet, free from sin and taking him with her.

All she had to do was return his love and it would be perfect. Watching as the Kutcher brought the horses to a halt and the diner jumped from the back of the carriage and opened the door, the first thing he saw was her white gloves.

He had only ever seen the light-colored fabric except for one day, but it only added to her extraordinary beauty. The white dress with the reddish ruffles embroidered by hand.

The long sleeves and slippers and on her head the veil under the white hood which only gave a hint of what her hair might look like. ,,Greetings this morning, my lady, may the Lord have mercy on your soul," he greeted her as he dismounted his horse and walked over to her, luiefe saw that she only looked at him with her eyes and held her head high.

She was an aristocrat, her father owned several plantations and textile weavers, her mother died in childbirth and she was the only child who could dispose of her own money as she wished.

,,God bless you judge and this city" she said something for the first time one morning as she went to the statue of St. Mary and left him behind. Frollo knew breaking etiquette would be an insult to her and her family he had to do it differently he had to woo her.

His angel, his lovely star as he went to the rows of wood himself and said the prayer. But his eyes kept looking at her as she lowered her head, the veil covering her. But he had seen her pale reddish eyes under the embroidered fabric that hung over her face.

He wanted to understand what was "wrong" with her, that this sin was a punishment from God, which is why she always prayed. But what was sin to her was everything to him. He wanted her like the forbidden, desirable fruit of the apple tree.

The minutes passed, the sun rose over the city and the stained glass of the windows shone on her and he fell, looking at her in color instead of white.

He lit a candle, folded his hands, and felt the ring's box in the pocket of his robe before he watched her again as she slowly rose from her kneeling position, wiped the dust from her dress and walked to the exit.

Before the people came, the people of the normal lower population. ,,My lady please wait I have heard of the good news of your lord father's factory" he began and was pleased to see her pause and wait for him.

Her hands folded in front of her dress, she watched him as best he could see under the veil. ,,I had taken the liberty of contacting him...and asked for an invitation to hear your playing your harp," he explained, knowing that she played her harp in her family circles and among her closest confidants.

He couldn't quite tell if it was indignation or exasperation that flashed in her eyes as she stood to resume her posture as an aristocrat.

,,My lord father will make a decision in your favor, I presume. The Estonian literary mythology describes the following pantheon: The supreme god, the god of all living things, is Taara (variations of the name include Tooru, Tharapita and Tarapitha), also known as Uku or Jumal, is a prominent god in Estonian mythology, with a strong resemblance to the Finnish Ukko and the Germanic Thor. He is celebrated in sacred oak forests around Tartu. The god of thunder is Uku. Uku's daughters are Linda and Jutta, the queen of the birds. Uku has two sons: Kõu (Thunder) and Pikker (Lightning). Estonian legends about giants (Kalevipoeg, Suur Tõll, Leiger) may be a reflection of Germanic (especially Scandinavian) influences.
