Mystreet au but it’s just the comfort no hurt mcd spin off where everyone isn’t a descendent or reincarnation of their mcd selves and are just happy and content with their lives, and Minecraft Diaries is a dnd campaign that Garroth runs for his friends (main party consisting of Aphmau, Vylad, Laurance and Nicole, and eventually Dante, Travis, kinda Zane, and Katelyn join them)
“Ok Vylad, roll to shoot Zenix.”
“…nat 1.”
“Vylad shoots Brendan in the chest. Roll damage.”
”Aphmau, roll to hit with disadvantage.”
“WHY DISADVANTAGE!?”
“You are trying to kill a demon warlock. THE Demon Warlock. The guy keeping you trapped on this island. Alone. By yourself.”
“Okay, I guess that makes sense. *rolls* NAT 20!!”
“…..you got him. Roll damage :( ”

Was just conked on the head with the memory of Ecaf existing. A literal sentient mirror who was close with Fabian and (I think?) not a fan of Riz. ...Do you guys think that was one of the four ways Brennan mentioned that the Bad Kids could have gotten into that confrontation with Baron.

ok but the fact that Kim Dokja's job was QA for a video game company just makes... so much sense
I've done QA before (not for games, but in general). The point of QA is to be a stress test, to see if a system has any flaws or loopholes or breaking points before it reaches its intended audience
if you wanna see what video game QA looks like, drop by letsgameitout on youtube and watch him destroy some games from the inside
And imagine setting a person like that loose in the setting of a world that has been their special interest every single day for the past 13 years
of course he has all the speedrun strats down, his brain is a finely honed tool designed to destroy any system it touches via technicality and persistence

Howdy!
So lately I've been on a quest of artistic improvement, and on that quest I've been studying styles that have the tendency to just, take my breath away and leave me with the unshakable envy that drives me forward, and that includes your great stuff!
I hope you don't mind if I pick your brain, but there's one thing in your art that's present in almost all of the ones I'm studying that I cannot for the life of me understand. The lines, or lack there of I suppose. My brain is just psychically incapable of understanding what's going on with it, because it doesn't f e e l like normal linework, and in speedpaints it's hard to see exactly what's going on. Like, I'm amazed that you can do that.
i've only posted one speedpaint recently, so i'm guessing you're talking about the ousai one, right? how's this...?
Tumblr media
i use one brush (ciro pen @ 80% opacity) for almost everything nowadays. sometimes i just clean up a sketch, sometimes i draw a lineart layer. as you can see, it's still pretty messy...! i don't bother closing lines, and drawing with a lower opacity helps me (try to) be less stiff / quickly draw in shadows or vary line impressions. i rough colors on one layer underneath, reduce lineart opacity, and then make one layer on top to paint over it. sometimes i redraw lines, paint over, or color lines, especially for details or elements that feel like they should be merging/touching/melting into each other...
good luck on your art quest!! hope that helps, even a little...!

came up with an unlock requirement for nigiri. you basically have to fight him three times through separate runs. afterwards he find it less productive to try to kill you so he joins your party instead

The NPCs just aren't intimidated by you, blorbo <33 I have no control over his lines, they just happen.
The joys of playing a character that appears to be also partially a NPC is such a trip, you never know what to expect next.
(Dutch got cocky and thought the road belonged to him, the NPC shouted 'OUTTA THE WAY', which Dutch disagreed with, silly little old man)

Do you have a tag for any NPC who appears or is referenced in multiple games? I really like it when they have continuity.
hmmm no, I don't have anything quite like that.
Some NPCs get their own tags if they end up appearing on the blog several times/are iconic enough (for instance Youngster Joey, Roughneck Kirby, Heartbreaker Charles), are distinguishable enough without being a major character (for instance Copycat, Phil the Photo Guy, Ball Guy, Azaela Town Charcoal Man), or is a returning type of character ("Science/Technology Is Amazing"-guy, shorts youngsters, the player character's mom, gym guides etc).
I should maybe add a tag that specifically includes NPCs that have appeared or been mentioned in several games (and been posted on the blog before). Since it does happen quite a bit in RBY/GSC (and remakes) and BW/BW2, especially, since those games in part take place in the same locations only at different times.
But for now, here are a few examples from the top of my head of characters appearing or being refered to in more than one game on this blog Traumatized Black Belt Ferris wheel Hiker [1] [2] [3] Ferris wheel Dancer Grandpa and granddaughter

Rival: Eseris, Dancer of the Edge
Can you folks hurry up and surrender already? I’ve got a hot date with a smuggler captain and the bastard son of a supernova and that bounty on your heads is going to pay for one hell of a night out.
It’s tough being one of wildspace’s most prestigious bountyhunters: the action, the glory, the riches, the hot alien babes hanging off every word of your latest adventure... but the Eseris persists none the less. Born of a union of between an inspiration seeking painter and the majesty of the cosmos itself, this aasimar duellist now skates about the stars on a torrent of her own light, hunting down outlaws mostly for the thrill of it.
Hooks:
Our heroes first encounter Eseris as part of a random encounter, when their transport is ambushed by a bit of space-faring wildlife that’s decided to take territorial exception to their vessel. While the party is fighting for their life, Eseris spends most of the fight showboating and performing for the other passengers, stepping in to strike the killing blow or if the party REALLY needs help.
Some time later, after the party has earned the ire of some galactic warlord or planetary government, Eseris comes hunting for their bounty. Taking advantage of her ability to fly and the party’s ignorance around strange planear geography, the bountyhunter will attempt to separate them, incapacitating them in ones or twos before finding one last opponent to engage in a duel. While the coin helps speed her along towards finding her opponents, it’s the challenge that serves as Eseris’s primary motivation... and the party might be able to avoid being captured by persuading her that it would be more fun to overthrow whoever it was that put the bounty on them in the first place.
Though a talented swashbuckler in her own right, Eseris’s skills are only bolstered by the aid of a blade that can dance through the air and be controlled like one of her own limbs. Forged from an alloy of starmetal and her own living light, this sword leaves quickly fading after-images with each swing, each of which is just as solid as the original. Should the party be able to get on the bountyhunter’s goodside ( which involves buying her some drinks and making an absolute idiot of themselves), she’ll point them in the direction of where she got it.. a strange celestial operating a forge on a lonely little moon out in the vast night.
