after two long years Ukraine is making major gains even after a massive slog in the south, it's the first major land invasion of Russia since the second world war! The funny thing is that Ukraine is abiding by international standards and not committing war crimes, not only that but there has been no major protests nir armed resistance against Ukraine troops in the kurk region and my best guest is that any people who would have fought are evacuating but then why wouldn't they do anything something like Ukraine citizens did during the invasion of their territory? With all that said however this is a major advantage for Ukraine for PR and negotiations, any talk going forward are no longer about begging but real negotiations since Russia risks losing territory. Wjth the November US election this kursk offensive this might also impact military aid in a positive way, despite pro-russia pundits crying about Ukraine's use of western weapons.

New NATO chief Rutte makes support for Ukraine top priority

New NATO chief Mark Rutte pledged to boost support for war-torn Ukraine when he headed the alliance, according to The Independent.

We have to make sure that Ukraine prevails as a sovereign, independent, democratic nation.

The former Dutch prime minister officially succeeded Jens Stoltenberg as NATO secretary general on Tuesday. His appointment came at an important moment for NATO, with the US election just weeks away.

The secretary-general said during a press conference on Tuesday that he could work with either Donald Trump or Kamala Harris and appreciated that Ukraine would be his top priority.

“I will be able to work with both. Whatever is the outcome of the election.”

Rutte, 57, was prime minister of the Netherlands until he resigned earlier this year following the collapse of his coalition government in 2023. He was appointed to lead NATO in June.

The cost of supporting Ukraine is far, far lower than the cost we would face if we allow Putin to get his way.

One of Rutte’s key tasks will be to persuade NATO members to commit additional troops, weapons and spending to strengthen the alliance’s collective defence.

“We need to do more in terms of our collective defence and deterrence. We have to invest more and close the capability gaps and try to achieve all the targets NATO has set here.”

Military aid at risk

However, Ukraine’s allies are struggling financially, jeopardising further shipments of money and weapons, according to Bloomberg. People familiar with the matter said some even refused to increase funding to help Kyiv.

Much of Ukraine’s military aid for 2025 is tied to a G7 deal to provide $50 billion in loans from the profits of frozen Russian central bank assets. However, even if an agreement is reached, the $50 billion is still not enough to meet Ukraine’s needs for another year of war, military analysts warned.

Meanwhile, Polish Defence Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz called Ukraine an ungrateful recipient of military aid.

There is no memory of this aid from Ukraine’s side.

Kosiniak-Kamysz argued that the first Ukrainian statements were very ambitious and the number of Ukrainians who were supposed to apply to join the special brigade in Poland was too small. Aid to Ukraine amounted to 3.3 per cent of Poland’s GDP or 100 billion zlotys ($26 billion). This included humanitarian aid and military supplies, which reached $5bn.

HUNGARIAN FOREIGN MINISTER SLAMS U.S. ORDERS TO RATIFY SWEDEN'S ADMISSION INTO NATO

Hungary's Foreign Minister, Peter Szijjarto, slammed the United States Thursday for giving orders to Hungary demanding the Hungarian parliament quickly ratify Sweden's admission into the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO).

Speaking on Wednesday, U.S. National Security Advisor, Jake Sullivan, warned the Hungarian authorities that American patience has its limits and that Washington is waiting for Hungary to ratify Sweden's ascension into NATO.

In response to Sullivan's comments, Szijjarto dismissed U.S. concerns and slammed Washington for interfering in Hungarian affairs, telling reporters with Russian news agency Ria Novosti, "First of all, I want to be clear: everyone must understand that Hungary is a sovereign country. And it is not only that everyone must understand this, but that everyone must respect it. Regardless of whether it's a superpower of the East, a superpower of the West or any other country, they must respect that Hungary is a state and the Hungarian parliament is a sovereign body," adding that Hungary will never act on instructions coming from another nation.

"These kinds of statements are completely unnecessary, they show disrespect for Hungary. We never criticize US decisions. We never criticize congressional decisions. We never interfere with what they put on the agenda or what they don't included in it. And we expect the same from others,” Szijjarto warned.

“So, to be honest, we are not concerned about such instructions. Because we are not the 51st state, but a very sovereign country,” the Hungarian Foreign Minister added.

Previously, the Hungarian parliament failed to pass Sweden's admission into NATO due to a "lack of quorum" resulting from a boycott by opposition parties in Hungary's main governing body.

Turkiye's Grand National Assembly previously ratified Sweden's bid to enter NATO in mid-January, meaning Hungary remains the last holdout for Sweden's ascension into the alliance.

France prepares army for confrontation with Russia as part of NATO drills

French troops will take part in a large-scale military exercise called Dacian Spring 2025 in Romania, according to Politico.

The drills, to be held next May, would assess France’s ability to shift rapidly to NATO’s eastern flank in the event of a perceived threat. The head of the Army’s land command in Europe, General Bertrand Toujouse, said on Friday, 4 October, that such exercises should be treated as “strategic signals.”

We used to play war. Now there’s a designated enemy, and we train with people with whom we’d actually go to war.

In the last few years, French ground forces began a “profound transformation” to be ready for a high-intensity conflict similar to the war in Ukraine. Paris also received new orders from NATO to be able to deploy a combat-ready division in 30 days, including ammunition and supplies, by 2027.

The French army will train to send a combat-ready brigade to Romania in 10 days. The interim step, if successful, will reaffirm France’s credibility with NATO allies and pave the way for the 2027 goal.

However, defence spending must be in line with France’s seven-year military planning law to meet the 2027 target, General Pierre Schill, commander of the French army, warned. The defence budget is under pressure as France’s new government seeks to curb the country’s deficit.

I expect the planned resources to be there in full. If there are major changes, at some point we may delay [the 2027 objective], saying that there aren’t enough stocks to take them into combat.

Militarisation gaining momentum

Lithuania was also holding Gelezinis Vilkas 2024-II (Iron Wolf 2024-II) drills involving troops from NATO countries, the Ministry of National Defence revealed on Monday.

The international exercise Gelezinis Vilkas 2024-II begins on 7 October. Until 17 October, the exercise will take place at the General Sylvester Žukauskas Training Range. More than 3,200 Lithuanian and allied soldiers with 700 pieces of military equipment will take part.

Soldiers from the United States, Germany, Norway, the Netherlands, Belgium, the Czech Republic and Luxembourg take part in the drills aimed at fully integrating NATO’s forward battle group.

In the face of a growing threat near its borders, Russia announced an updated nuclear doctrine. Moscow made the announcement to rule out further escalation and dispel doubts about the country’s readiness to “ensure its security by all available means,” according to Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko. He emphasised that Russia’s actions were a response to NATO’s “provocative” actions.

NATO's Nazi Background

Literally, Hitler's Chief of Staff Adolf Heusinger became the Chairman of the Military Committee for NATO from 1961-1964

Then there's one of Hitler's most infamous German Field Martials Erwin Rommel's Chief of Staff, General Hans Speidel became the Supreme Commander of NATO's Ground Forces in Central Europe from 1957-1963.

And then again from 1971 to 1975 a notorious Luftwaffe Fighter Pilot who even earned the Knights Cross of the Iron Cross, one of Nazi Germany's highest medals of honor, named Johannes Steinhoff became Chairman of NATO's Military Committee.

As if THAT wasn't enough, Johann Von Keilmansegg, who was a General Staff Officer to the High Command of the Wermacht, occupied the position of Commander in Chief of Allied Forces Central Europe from 1967-1968.

A Major in the Wermacht and Group Leader of the Organizational Department of the Supreme Command of the Wermacht from 1943-1945 and a recipient of the Iron Cross named Ernst Ferber was NATO's Commander in Chief of Allied Forces 1973-1975

And NATO's Commander in Chief of Allied Forces Central Europe from 1977-1979 was Franz Joseph Schulze who was a Lieutenant in the reserve and Chief of the 3rd Battery of the Flak Storm Regiment 241 and became a recipient of the Knights Cross of the Iron Cross in 1944.

Another Nazi, Ferdinand von Senger und Etterlin who was a Lieutenant in the 24th Panzer Division in the German 6th Army, a participant in the Battle of Stalingrad, adjutant to Army High Command, of course became NATO's Supreme Commander of Allied Forces Central Europe from 1979 to 1983.

So to make this perfectly clear; the United States who led the creation of NATO with its Allied partners the UK and France, instead of capturing, imprisoning and prosecuting in a War Crimes Tribunal like the Nuremberg Trials this list of Nazi War Criminals, these Western Imperialist Powers chose to put these Nazis in charge of NATO and its Armed Forces.

If you think the NATO of today is any different; that it wouldn't ally itself with Nazis today, like in Ukraine, then you are sorely mistaken.
