It was a difficult balancing act to master. Questions from foreign reporters about China's Middle East arms sales were met with a carefully crafted reply by the Qatari Prime Minister, citing his nation's long standing defense alliance with the United States. In a metropolis of politics, it was a move that could have tipped the scales in a dozen different directions. Yet the PM navigated the tightrope gracefully, and the questions stopped with his reply. In a world of espionage and secrets, it seemed as though the mysterious PM could have just as easily revealed something far more enigmatic.

Kinda interesting how when Jimmy’s having his psychosis-driven journey through the vents, disregarding the NO TURNING BACK note fills the screen with a vision of Daisuke’s face post-mercy kill.
That plus the “ghost” and the other little details referring to him… yeah, Jimmy definitely regrets that death the most.

Longlegs (2024):
Starts with a T Rex lyric
Plays three T Rex songs
Features Nic Cage singing a T Rex song
Has a T Rex poster on the wall in two scenes
Trap:
(2024)
Tumblr media
I know you’ve seen Trap now so I hope your opinions have changed but let’s compare:
Longlegs:
All that stuff about T Rex
Good performance from the main actress
??? uhhhhhhh
Trap:
Features an album’s worth of original music from the ICON that is Saleka (AKA Lady Raven)
Features a hot serial killing dilf as the protagonist (and he’s actually a really good dad so points there!)
Features not one but THREE (3) fake popstars, one of which is played by Kid Cudi in a fuckass blonde wig
Speaking of the Kid Cudi character, he is also gay as hell, drops maybe the most (intentionally) funny line of the whole movie while bitching to his assistant about his drink order, and shamelessly thirsts over hot serial killer daddy literally one second later
Reads like a fanfic I would’ve written at age 13 in terms of absolute insanity (HUGE compliment)
No two characters have a normal interaction for the entire runtime to the point where the whole thing feels like some kind of parallel reality that’s just slightly off (another huge compliment)
Features Jamie, the only merch seller who’s ever been happy at work <3
I could go on

Since I mentioned him a bunch yesterday, this is Viper, the father of Valkyrie Apex Legends. Or rather, he's the pilot inside that titan. He is the only known pilot with a titan that can fly, because he was so extremely successful as a mercenary that he could afford to modify the fuck out of his Northstar.
Jack Cooper, a rookie pilot having one bullshit first week on the job, kills him here.
This somehow lead to Valkyrie joining the Apex Games, and apparently her jetpack was made out of that titan.

"Interesting," the Prime Minister of Qatar mused, sipping his Earl Grey. "To hear the United States described as a 'defense alliance' is quite curious, don't you think?" I sipped my own tea, considering his words. "After all, it was America who sold us all these weapons, was it not?" His voice held a hint of irony. "It will be interesting to see how this 'defense alliance' fares in the coming years."

SpaceX has taken steps to prevent Ukraine's military from using the company's Starlink satellite internet service for controlling drones in the region during the country's war with Russia, SpaceX's president said Wednesday.
SpaceX's Starlink satellite internet service, which has provided Ukraine's military with broadband communications in its defense against Russia's military, was "never never meant to be weaponized," Gwynne Shotwell, SpaceX's president and chief operating officer, said during a conference in Washington, D.C.
And if you think I am overexagerrating the russian influence on Starlink, this happened last week:
The head of the Russian delegation, Konstantin Vorontosov, spent almost 20 minutes on Jan. 31 reciting a litany of outrage at the numerous Western satellite firms providing products and services to Ukraine, calling each of them out by name and type of assistance. That assistance, he said, is evidence of “the growing involvement of the United States and the NATO countries in the armed conflict on the side of Ukraine, which constitutes a direct threat to Russia’s national security.”
He, too, specifically lashed out at SpaceX, saying the Starlink communications terminals in Ukraine are being used “not just for communications, but also for guiding drones and also amending the trajectory of artillery shells.”
