Is everyone beautiful?
PART I - Basic Social Skills PART II - Objective Beauty PART III - The Hate Trap LOOKING FOR AN OBJECTIVE ANSWER TO THE "AM I UGLY" QUESTION
It might be a little frustrating there isn't an objective way to tell which of the possible reasons have made you think "I'm ugly." It might be frustrating there isn't just some test you could take that would tell you if your self-perception is correct. It might be tempting to try to find some "scientific" way to get an answer. The thing is, this isn't really a scientific question. It's about how you construct yourself and how you ultimately shape your feelings about yourself. Anyone claiming to provide a scientific answer to the question "am I ugly" is trying to sell you something!
Do you tend to obsess about 'objective' standards such as, height, income, BMI, face symmetry or percent body fat? Are you susceptible to reducing your complex problems to something simple by making it all about not having the right numerical score on some metric? If you are susceptible to this it's an important thing to know about yourself. You will be much happier and save yourself so much time if you live in a way that recognizes this tendency. That doesn't mean ignoring all numbers, but rather recognizing that you are easily tempted to use them as a short cut to feeling like you are in control.
SELF IMPROVEMENT
Everyone knows self improvement is important. From learning new skills, to staying in shape, to updating how you clean your living space it's natural and good to want to improve.
You don't need to hate who you are now to be a better person later. You don't need to hate who you are now to be a better person later. You don't need to hate who you are now to be a better person later.
The self hate will *not* "motivate you more." It might provide a burst of frantic activity sometimes... but, in the long run, the growing sadness will make most kinds of self-improvement harder not easier.
You need to like at least *some* things about yourself-- or you won't be motivated to take care of yourself and improve. If you think you are disgusting, and terrible why would you bother to get better? Especially, if it might not totally work?
Avoid the trap of thinking that hating yourself will keep you motivated and focused on change because hate is a very inconsistent emotion. It's also unpleasant and unhealthy--
Change can take a long time. And some things can't be changed, or if they can the process is so unpleasant that you might not make it.
Don't make feeling OK and being happy something that you will only reach in the future when you "fix" everything.
You don't have to like everything about yourself, just some things. Maybe it's a skill, maybe it's something unique about your personality, maybe it's the color of your eyes.
Even if you are in camp "I'm ugly, so what." there's something. When you like yourself you will find that improving gets much easier!

Another way to Create Your Reality
One of the definitions for the word: “Realization” is, “the fulfillment or achievement of something desired or anticipated”. This was a word that took a little time for me to reclassify within my vocabulary while I was pursuing my degree in mysticism. It makes so much sense though, to realize is to literally make something “real”, at least in the sense of the word as we understand it. It’s to…

if you are an artist just trying out commissions for the first time as holidays come up, my advice to you to avoid burnout is have a clear ToS that states what you do and do not want to do.
not what you can and cannot do, but what you do and do not want to do. don't try to be the cheesecake factory of commission artists and take every single commission even if it doesn't suit your style or preferred subject matter. don't write a little disclaimer about how you aren't very good at backgrounds or vehicles but will do your best; that's how you get a client that for some reason wants a full brooklyn cityscape from you and suddenly you have spent five months stressed out and guiltily avoidant of other projects. just say you aren't offering backgrounds.
if you're not interested or confident in concept and design, be clear in your ToS that you need specific references for things like clothes and features. coming up with design ideas is a completely separate skill from rendering them; figure out with what you are comfortable before accepting the task. a lot of clients themselves don't understand that saying "do whatever" is basically tasking you to design for them, something for which you are well within your rights to charge accordingly.
pick your niche and hone it, and stretch your comfort zone with private work. you'll figure out as you go just how far your comfort zone stretches and can update what you offer accordingly.

Do you think Odysseus sat on the shores of Calypsos island and thought about Tiresias’ words. Do you? Do you think about how he probably had lots of time to reflect on his words. To beat himself up about what was so obvious in hindsight. About where he had been warned but failed to heed the warnings. He became the monster- but at what cost? And what more does he still have to pay? Does he think about the parts of the prophecy that have yet to pass? Slowly driving himself crazy, as he is trapped?

Prompt 177
Now Dan is no coward. He’s not.
But this stupid child body does have an effect on his reactions to things and honestly it’s a horrible thing that’s too small and too weak for him to use all his abilities. He could barely manage a fireball if he concentrated, yet everything caught fire with a mere outburst! His control was utterly gone, and a tantrum resulted in having to wear a stupid child leash backpack.
It wasn’t like he was really a child, and it wasn’t like he’d get lost or some stupid shit that Danny would insist. Ugh, this isn’t even fair, technically he was older than him yet was stuck in a smaller body that he kept tripping over!
Urgh, he’s even insisting on rewarding ‘good behavior’ and shit- must have talked to Jazz or something- because… Oh. No he wants the constellation bear, give! His star bear now, no takes back and, urgh, stupid baby body!
Well, on the other hand, it’s utterly hilarious how much Danny sputters whenever he calls him Mom, not to mention strangers’ utter befuddlement. He ignores how Danny seems to be trying his best to live up ro the title.
But! As he was saying, he’s no coward! He’s also not an idiot though, and having no control over his powers isn’t exactly a good thing. It’s really not a good thing when there’s a murderous-looking hero that he thinks he might have maimed in the future- which they apparently remember- staring down at him. So, he has to call in the big guns to fix this.
“Mom, there’s a creepy fruitloop staring at me!” “There’s WHAT?!” Hah. Take that hero he doesn’t remember the name of.

One similarity between Jonathan and '24 Thomas I'd like to point out is the "unclean" scene.
Jonathan saw and experienced all the nastiest most vile parts inside of vampires, and when she declared herself unclean and when holiness itself burned her he loved her despite it all, and resolved that if she became one of those monsters he would follow her. Thomas also saw all the horrifying darkness in Ellen, and when she too cried out that she's unclean he like Jonathan said that she's not and that he loves her.
I mean... I don't think these scenes are really all that similar - and again, this is to do with characterization, because on the surface level, they do follow roughly the same script. They're both extremely significant to the dynamics between Jonathan/Mina or Thomas/Ellen - but more so as a juxtaposition.
Mina believes herself to be unclean and damned because she has been bitten by Dracula and is indeed at risk of becoming a vampire as well; and as you said, Jonathan vows to join her in that cursed undeath. It is an expression of beautiful, intense, blasphemous, extremely gothic devotion, and it defines their relationship throughout the story.
By contrast, Ellen believes herself to be unclean because of her own psychic ability - because she was the one who woke Orlok in the first place. Thomas does try to reassure her, he tells her he loves her; and he is trying his best, but this reassurance ultimately falls flat for two reasons - 1) he cannot convince her that she is not unclean, because that perceived "uncleanliness" is an inherent part of her, rather than something foreign; and 2) he wants her to eventually be free of it, which she cannot ever be - because, again, the horror is a part of her.
Unlike Jonathan, Thomas is terrified of that horror. He does not recognize it as a permanent aspect of Ellen, and he ultimately is incapable of making the same vow that Jonathan Harker did; and this limitation is crucial to the undercurrent of that scene, because it is the reason Ellen lies to him about her final plan. Mina trusted Jonathan and co. enough to openly ask them to end her life in the event of turning, but Ellen makes the arrangements with Von Franz in secret, before sending her husband on a wild-goose chase. She cares about him, yes, and he cares for her; but he does not love all existing aspects of her. He would not be able to accept her if she turned. Their goals in life, their desires, their perspectives are fundamentally incompatible, and so the only thing she can do for him is leave him behind.
Thomas may have good intentions and a similar choice of career, but he's no Jonathan. It's not exactly his fault, it's just that he's really not meant to be a Hero. He's a Damsel in Distress and he's being forced into the wrong role entirely by a patriarchal world - the existence of which only Ellen appears to recognize.

what do u think ritsu would do if he got stuck in a time loop
oh he would go insane. like, immediately. you know how in a lot of time loop stories, there's a point where the character kind of loses it? it would take no time for ritsu to reach that point. like as soon as he realizes he's trapped, he will Freak The Fuck Out. he'll either throw himself really intensely into trying to figure out how to end the time loop, or he'll go completely off the deep end and start blowing shit up because it'll all be reset by the next day. potentially both.
of course, this is all presuming he's alone in the time loop. I think if he had someone else trapped in the time loop with him, he'd be less likely to lose his mind and instead would work really hard with them to break it. but if he's by himself in the time loop, he would not cope well

the tragedy is that they died so young. they are stuck eternally as children. the experience of adulthood has been robbed from them, not just physically but emotionally. charles says himself, he never got to grow up. they never can, they never will.

Having suicidal depression is like having a constant itch you can’t scratch. Even if you don’t plan on actually committing suicide the feeling doesn’t just go away. It’s constantly in the back of your mind. Whenever road blocks happen in your life instead of figuring out how to fix things like a normal person would your brain immediately goes to, “just kill yourself.” When you wake up in the morning the first thought you have is about killing yourself because your dreams are the only time you can escape the pain of living with suicidal depression. You find no worth in your accomplishments. Even when you actually do accomplish something it’s like it has no worth because you don’t find worth in yourself. You constantly compare yourself to your peers and wonder if you would have actually been succseful like them if you didn’t have a mental illness. Even if you do feel happy for a moment that moment ends and you remember that you have no worth, are stupid, haven’t accomplished anything in life and are a waste of space who needs to just end it already. You know you’re unlovable. No one wants to be with someone with suicidal depression because they don’t want to be with someone who will bring them down. You constantly are thinking about killing yourself and knowing that you can’t makes you feel trapped. Dying isn’t a soluation but you don’t want to live another disappointing year where nothing but bad things happen to you and you don’t grow or change at all. Having suicidal depression is watching everyone around you grow and change while you remain the same. And no one can see how much pain you are in.
