Melissa Barrera has allegedly been dropped from Scream VII because of her alleged “antisemitic” posting. To be clear she is and has been Pro Palestine and has never made any posts that attack Jewish people.
Boycott the next Scream film. This is a direct attack on a woman speaking her mind.

w/c: 3.4 k words
warnings: suggestive themes, mentions of a casual affair, swearing, mentions of smoking, love used as a metaphor of addiction and smoking, drinking at a party, overly dramatic writing, attempts at humour, gay yearning. melissa is in love but kind of doesn’t know how to deal with it.
second part will be written. more will be told about the reader’s background, and we’ll have a deeper insight on when they started seeing melissa. let me know if i missed anything else :)
it starts below the cut 🤠

Sitting on the rooftop, your eyes are mindlessly trained on the landscapes drowned by lamplights. A cigarette hangs between your lips and you’re starting to taste the bitter, raw nicotine from how long it has remained unlit. You wish you could bring yourself to inhale the toxins and allow the rot to travel throughout your lungs, consequently tainting your oxygen, but you’ve decided that you do too much of it already, the smell of her lingering fragrance marking your bedsheets being enough to ruin your health. It was a deranging fact considering you weren’t even a smoker. You wanted to find an alternative addiction that would slowly, softly kill you. It’s better to crawl at the hands of death rather than someone. At least that is what you think. Though you were always kind of melodramatic in that way. She’d tell you that whenever you would plead with her to stay with you after your nightly secret meetings.
Looking back at it you feel a little embarrassed. All those wasted words and wasted time. Wanting nothing more but to go back to stop yourself from breathing three words that left a taste of bile at the back of your mouth even after weeks.
Taking the cigarette away from your lips you twirl it around your fingers, the paper now nearly melted off. You don’t want to throw it away, feeling ridiculous that you spent your money on a twelve dollar pack. Lying back to rest on the cold concrete, you carefully place the cigarette on your chest in an almost cradling gesture.
The cold wind blows past your face, the skin of your neck, touching the places that were traced by her lips. Your fingers reach for them and you swear it’s like she never left.
“I didn’t know you smoked.”
A voice startles you, jerking you up. Instinctively you hold the cigarette like you’ve been caught. The act itself is unintentionally amusing, making the redhead bite back a smile.
“I don’t.”
“There’s no harm in it if you were.”
She casually strides up to you. She’s so pretty. She always is but you can swear that at this moment you’d be on your knees apologising to her for something you didn’t even do. And maybe that’s the problem.
“Yeah, well, I wasn’t.”
You stand up, dusting off your pants, wanting to leave. The further you stay the more your brain shifts to your first conflict. Memories of raised voices, of tears, flushed faces and accusing words quickly speed past your membrane.
“Then why is there a box peeking out of your pocket?”
“Why do you care?”
Melissa sighs, crossing her arms. She wonders if whatever you had to drink tonight warranted that behaviour. But she also knew you never really were the drinking type. This only somehow worsens things, knowing that you’re sober and somewhat justifiably annoyed.
Ava’s laugh breaks the tension brewing between you, reminding your surroundings. At Janine’s flat, a get together between colleagues.
“This is useless.”
You make a move to leave but she steps in your way. You almost want to laugh at her boldness.
“We need to talk.”
“We talked already.”
You grit, looking down at your shoes. She is being unfair. Sending you off, ignoring you for days and only talking to you when she needed to. Your friends did catch on to the shift of the atmosphere but couldn’t exactly place it. No one asked any questions either, knowing not to bother Melissa when she was having her pondering moments. It’s not like they could ask you anything either, always finding a sly excuse to get out of the conversation.
“Won’t you just cut the attitude and be serious about this for five minutes—”
“You have no right to tell me what to be serious about, Melissa. Not when you’ve got some questions to ask about yourself.”
You’re right. She knows you are. You have that same look on your face the day you pronounced the same words that felt like an open wound. “Why’d you have to ruin everything?” She asked, not frustratingly cried out. Then again her reasonings were justified. The agreement you had between you was simple. No attachments, no feelings.
With flushed cheeks she looks ahead of you. Her pride not wanting to let you know you aren’t exactly in the wrong, at least not really. Whatever it is, she won’t give you the satisfaction. Much to your great relief. Biting back your tears, you scoff, walking past her. She catches the subtle whiff of your linen scent, instantly bringing back memories of you spending rare mornings in her kitchen. Or evenings of her trying to teach you how to cook Italian food but ended up being distracted by the way you wrapped your arms behind her, placing soft kisses on her neck.
A couple excuses and farewells later you left the party, wishing everyone well and ignored Ava’s slight inquisition in your mood. You waved it off, joking that you’ve had many drinks in you and needed to rest. Which you should have seriously thought of before because Ava being inquisitive Ava knows you don’t really drink, failing at convincing you to slip a few drops of alcohol in the punch at a PTA reunion that one time.
“Something’s off with Romeo.” She points at Jacob and Barbara, who casts a curious look as you leave. He thought about it for a moment before speaking up again.
“I think Romeo is the wrong romantic hero to use here—”
“Can we drop the nerding for a second and gossip…I mean, talk about our colleague?” Ava exasperates.
Usually, Barbara isn’t one for gossip, but she had to admit your behaviour was strange.
“The other day I still saw her class lights on. I presumed it was to catch up on correcting papers but this has been the fifth time in a week.”
“What do you think it is? Heartbreak? Food poisoning?” Ava ponders, already thinking of the bake sale that you participated in, and accepts a plate of visibly raw cookies from a student out of pity.
“Or maybe it’s just stress and fatigue?” He hums, pretending not to know what she was talking about. The truth is, he was aware. At least he had some idea. He saw Melissa in one of your shirts once. Chalking it up to you two having a sleepover he dropped the thought but it was admittedly strange. He tried talking about it to Melissa in a completely innocent curious way, to which she quickly shut him down. He tried asking you, but you would always find a way to slyly change the subject.
“Another theory is either a relationship or a situationship gone wrong. Probably the second one. I haven’t seen that look in a while, that’s someone who needs to get lai—”
Melissa enters after, walking towards Janine and Gregory. She asks for you but they confusedly answer that you left. Right. She knows you did. But a part of her hoped you’d stay. A tiny part.
“Hmm, I don’t know. Digging into her life seems a bit unethical.” Jacob scratches his neck, acting as if he didn’t want to know what was really happening.
“It’s not unethical if we’re preoccupied.”
“I can’t believe I’m saying this but Ava’s right. We should be rightfully preoccupied.” Barbara supports, earning a slight indignant expression from Ava.
“What do you mean you can’t believe what you’re saying? I’m always right. Almost always.”
“What are we saying?” Janine interrupts, smiling cheerfully at the group. “Oh…is it about the appetisers? Look, I know they’re not exactly homemade but I tried to make it look presentable.”
Melissa is right behind them, peering through the groups' eyes. She catches on to Jacob’s uneasy smile, who grabs an appetiser from a nearby platter to avoid speaking. Ava clears her throat and resumes talking.
“We know they aren’t homemade. Maybe that’s what got our friend sour.”
Ever the sweetest person, Janine’s tone changes at the mention of you. You did look a bit off. She really thought it was the food but you reassured both her and Gregory.
“Thank God because I ate at least ten of those…” mutters Gregory, offering a teasing smile when Janine bats his biceps.
“What got our colleague sour?” Melissa questioned, or rather interrogated. She knew she somehow had to appear clueless if she wanted to avoid having a discussion. The incoming questions were already giving her a migraine. Though the only person she’d trust this issue with is Barbara.
“Now, I am in no way condoning gossip nor peering into personal lives—”
“Oh, just spit it Barb.” Ava eggs on. Barbara sighs and rolls her eyes before turning to Melissa again.
“We think it might be a case of a heartbreak. The opposite of you, actually.”
Ironic.
“Is that what it looks like?” Melissa ponders, trying so hard not to let her voice waver.
“Oh, yeah, speaking of how’s your date going?” Janine smiles, knowing a bit about Melissa’s “mysterious date”, consequently allowing the topic about you to change.
“It’s…it’s going okay. Ish.”
“Are you thinking about going official?” Ava nudges her shoulder, a conspiring smile on her face. “I would like to see who’s giving you that glow. Like where did you find them exactly? Wherever it is, maybe they have more.”
She fights back from blushing, her brain rushing to moments of you taking care of her, your soft praises, how your lips traveled across every inch of her skin.
“That good, huh?” Jacob quips, instantly recognising that look she has. She had it when you left to get coffee and he could’ve sworn she wasn’t just “tired”. She was unabashedly gazing at you. The woman’s eyes widened, wondering if she should shut Jacob up. But that will for sure sell her out.
“Leave the poor woman alone. She’s not who we are talking about at the moment. But you will have to tell me everything soon, won’t you, Melissa?”
“Yeah, yeah. I’ll tell you everything.”
“In any case, I hope it’s not too bad. I’ve seen that kind of heartbreak before.” Barbara winces at the thought of your solemn face. You were genuinely bright, not too talkative, but still a positive figure at Abbot Elementary.
“Let’s all drink in the honour of our Romeo and hope it’s not that case.” Ava pours drinks for everyone, clearly not using this as an excuse to get everyone to drink.
Melissa stares down at her cup before taking another sip, hoping the cup’s contents will wash down the churning feeling in her stomach.
. ݁₊ ⊹ . ݁˖ . ݁
The next following weeks went on as usual. You preparing your lessons, marking your students' papers. You think you’ve seen fiery red hair at your door but maybe that’s just your delusion.
Melissa’s week was fairly average like yours. Except that there is an issue. She’s not able to clear her mind out of you. That and you’ve left your shirt at her place. She wondered many times if she should call for you to pick up but has decided that your relationship is already awkward as it is. That and she still hasn’t told her best friend who had her smiling dreamily.
To make matters comedically worse Jacob is somehow connecting the dots. Asking her about the shirt you’ve left. Then about you and if you two talked recently. She tried to answer his questions normally but had a gut feeling that this wasn’t just innocent curiosity.
They were now at the professors' lounge room, having just had a lunch break with everyone except you. You said you needed to catch up on lesson prep and heated your lunch and left.
Melissa I know it’s none of my business—”
“Damn right it’s not.”
“But I was just wondering—”
“Then stop wondering.” She shrugs, moving to pack her things from the lounge room. She liked to consider herself helpful but right now what she needed was to get home. And definitely not try to text you.
Jacob quickly stops her from leaving, blocking the entrance door.
“Jacob don’t make me start—”
“It’s her, isn’t it?”
She blinks her eyes, eyebrows furrowing.
“Look I know I shouldn’t care and it doesn’t concern me. But I’ve seen the way you two look at each other.”
Before she could even answer the door opens, making them both jump in fright. Barbara looks between them and shoots a conspiratorial glance.
“Gossiping again?”
“No?” Jacob answers as he pretends to dust lint off Melissa's shoulders. “Just catching up on…the weather?” To be fair he was a bad liar.
She shrugs his hand off her shoulder, looking at Barbara. She knows she can’t hide anything from her. What is surprising is that she can’t even hide anything from Jacob. Either he was too observant or she was becoming too transparent.
“Is anyone going to tell me anything?” Barbara raises an eyebrow, taking note of their awkward looks.
“It’s complicated.” Melissa sighs out, massaging her temples.
“I think this is something that you two need to talk about alone…” Jacob temptingly mutters, making a move to leave before the redhead grasps his wrist.
“Oh, no. You’re staying.”
It’s the least he could do for trying to dig into her personal affairs. His face is stricken with fear as Barbara’s confusion deepens.
“You might want to uh…sit down for this one, Barbara. But please don’t blame her for anything, I mean like she said it is complicated—”
“Wait, you knew about this?” Barbara inquisitions, her hand waving between her best friend and the frightened man.
“No, no, no! I mean I had some idea of it, Melissa was oblivious and I sort of figured it out—”
“Jacob. Quiet.” Melissa sits down on a chair, head dropping to her hands, mentally preparing for the incoming headache she’s about to get from all this mess.
“Will someone tell me what is going on? It’s not anything too serious is it?” Barbara takes a maternal tone, concern wavering in her voice at the sight of her friend in distress.
“You know I’ve been seeing someone?”
“Yes…? Did he…or they broke up with you? Sweetheart, I’m so sorry—”
“It’s someone we know.” The redhead speaks between her teeth, shame coursing through her body. She takes a deep breath, looking at Jacob who sends her an encouraging nod.
“You know I will never judge you, right?” Her best friend moves to sit in front of her, taking her hand in hers and lightly squeezing it.
“I know, it’s just…”
“Messy.” Jacob completes, earning an exasperated look from the redhead.
“Yeah.”
“Well I’m here to listen. And not judge. That’s not what we’re here for, right?” She looks up at Jacob, who shakes his head and offers his hand in support, hoping the redhead won’t break his phalanges.
“You know we’re here for you no matter what, Mel.”
The support is surprisingly enough for her to gain a little courage. She has to do it. If not for her then for you. Silence ensues.
“It’s…it’s…well.”
When Barbara hears your name, she swears she thought it was a joke. But at the look of Melissa’s face, she knows she is being completely serious.
“For how long?” The question isn’t meant to be judgmental, but the redhead fears it is.
“Four weeks.”
“That explains everything. You tolerated Jacob’s jokes more than usual.”
“Wait…you aren’t…mad at me?”
“Sweetheart, why would I be? I’m in no place to judge you whatsoever. As long as you’re happy and safe, you are free to live your life and see whoever you want to.”
“O…okay. Thank you.”
“There is no need.”
The pair hug, while Jacob awkwardly clears his throat.
“So does this mean I’m safe and won’t get kicked out?” He shrinks back in his posture as Melissa gets up, Barbara stands with her just in case she needs to hold her back.
“Everything’s all good.”
“I’m sorry. I really didn’t mean to.”
“It’s okay. I think sooner or later you were bound to find out anyway..”
“It is true that I started asking myself a couple of questions when you didn’t have your glow anymore.” Barbara nudges her, smiling at the way she fights back her blush.
“Yeah, well…it’s kinda over now, so…”
“Over? Oh, honey, this isn't over for the two of you. Not until you two had a proper conversation between adults.”
“But she’s–”
“Then tell her you’ll give her all the time she needs. But soon you will need to talk. If she does not understand that, then at least you gave it a chance. Don’t let her run anyway again.”
She knows she’s right. She can’t let this go any further.
“Let who run away?”
Janine walks in a tow with Ava and Gregory. Mr. Johnson, who walked in to look for trash, stayed when he heard something that might make his day interesting.
Melissa looked at everyone before catching your figure in the hallway. You two share a fleeting look before you leave. Everyone follows her gaze before looking back at her. Ava raises her eyebrows and sips her cup of coffee.
“This is messy.”
“Ava, stop–” Janine softly intervenes but Melissa shakes her head.
“No, she’s right. It’s my mess to fix.” She gazes at the empty spot you left, wanting nothing more but to stop you from leaving.
“Are we going to have to play matchmaker?” Ava excitedly whispers to Gregory, who places a hand over her shoulder.
“Looks like it. Or maybe this is something for them to fix themselves.”
“You’re going to have to tell us everything. If you want to, of course. No judgments here.” Ava speakers earnestly, though her voice is edged with curiosity.
“I think this is something for me to talk about later. See you after class.” Melissa smiles at the group one last time, nearly breaking into a grin when Barbara offers her a thumbs up.
She already screwed up once. She wasn’t about to let you go again. Even if you decide to let her go, she has to let you know what she had to say from the beginning. What she wanted to say.

Comfort in healing
Warnings: mentions of self harm, acts of self harm, relapsing, depression, just depressing and triggering stuff but with fluff at the end
A/N, so I recently went through a break up and suffered with it hard. And badly too. Writing this seemed to help me move past my block but also help mend a piece of me inside. I understand that this is triggering and very sensitive, but there are people who go through this, myself included.
You and Melissa broke up. It happened so quickly and suddenly, you don’t remember the conversation and why. Now you’re sitting in the bathroom and a razor blade in your trembling hands. God you wish Melissa were here. But you can’t call her.
You and Melissa dated for two years. In those two years you’ve been in the happiest and healthiest relationship you’ve had in a while. You still had ups and downs like any other relationship but suddenly it got too much and you two broke up. Now you find yourself relapsing because of it. Five years down the drain of being clean.
Sighing you lean your head back against your bathroom cabinet feeling the pain radiating through your body, but yet you feel free and relaxed. Your phone suddenly buzzes. A text from Melissa
“Y/N, can we talk?” You don’t answer, another text “Please Y/N” again you don’t answer. After a few minutes you just close your eyes and take a deep breath. Your phone buzzes again but with a call. It’s Melissa. You don’t answer, she rings a second time and you just stare at her caller ID, a photo of you two on your one year anniversary. Everything inside you shatters again and you bring the blade to your skin. Wincing you do what makes you feel better but also worse. Your phone buzzes more and finally you turn off your phone completely. Slowly getting up from the floor with your knees achy you clean yourself up and head back into your room and lay down. Staring at the ceiling for a few minutes before eventually dozing off. You wake up to a knock and you just roll back over and try to go back to sleep. Apparently you dozed off and are being shaken awake by someone. You immediately wake up and see who it is. Melissa, staring at you, with a worried expression on her face and her face slightly paler than usual.
“Issa?”
“Y/n? What happened?
“Huh?”
“Hey, focus on me. What happened? Why is your pants red and so are your sheets?”
“Huh?” Still groggy you aren’t following her words “what do you mean”
“I asked you, why are you bleeding? Your sheets and pants are stained red.”
This jolts you more awake. “What? I thought-“ you thought you cleaned up well and patched up yourself well enough to prevent bleeding like this. You slowly get up realize the bandages came off. You didn’t have actually bandages, just bandage tape.
“Oh- …it’s nothing.”
Melissa still looks confused and concerned “you don’t have to tell me, but why. I know that’s not your period. What did you do?”
You just look at her, mouth opening and closing, not finding words. She sees you struggling and she slowly walks over to you. “Y/n, tell me, please. Why are you bleeding?”
You stiffen “I uh- I- Mel-“ you start to sniffle and shake. You eventually collapse onto the bed. “I’m sorry Mel, I’m so sorry. I-, I just, god I’m an idiot” at this point your crying and you out your face in your hands, “I’m so sorry” you whisper
She bends down, her hands hold yours “sweetheart, it’s not your fault. I should be sorry. I let my thoughts and insecurities get the best of me. I didn’t give you an explanation. I’m the one who bursted out on you, took it out on you. I am so sorry y/n. Sorry won’t cut it, but know that I am. Youse deserve better than me, youse need someone who can give you what it is you want. Marriage, a family, fun, everything.”
You just look at her and tears run down your face. “Mel, I don’t need everything. I just wanted you, and only you. I know you don’t want to get married again, I’m fine with that. Family, having a family, it’s not a priority in my life. I want to enjoy life, to enjoy it with you. You don’t have to be sorry, because I forgive you. I am not ashamed of you, or embarrassed of you. I love you Melissa. I wish you’d understand that you give me all that I want.”
She looks at you, her eyes teary and lip quivering. “No one had said that to me before. I really am sorry. For doing this to you, for causing this to you.” She looks at your red stained pajama pants. “I am the cause of this, I can’t forgive myself for that. You shouldn’t have to do that because of me- I am the -“ before she could finish you kiss her lips softly and pull away “hey, you aren’t. It’s my thoughts that got me and harmed me. I did this myself willingly. And I’m sorry you even have to know I did this again let alone see it. I am sorry for that. You, had every right to feel what you felt, what you think. I probably would too. But Mel, you are enough, you give me enough. You make me happy and loved, I feel home with you.” You take her hands in yours and rub her rings with your thumbs. “If you want me still, I want you still.”
She chuckles softly. “I want you, I just can’t forgive myself for letting you do this.”
“Hey, it’s okay, they’ll heal, I’ll be okay. I was, I wasn’t thinking, okay? My mind was in a blur and I was hurt. It is not your fault, okay, i promise”
“Okay, but I won’t let this go, it hurts seeing you in this state.”
“It’s okay, it will be okay Mel” you kiss her rings and hold her hand kissing her hand. She smiles and gets up with a little grunt of pain from being bent down. “Let’s get you cleaned up okay? Let me help you get cleaned up.” You pause at this, “I don’t want you to see them. I don’t want you to have the image of my harm in your head.” She opens her mouth but the closes it and just nods. She gets to work to take your sheets off your bed and throw them into the wash while you go to the bathroom and clean up your mess. If stings but that’s what you are paying for, but you know now, that if you two just communicate and talk things out, it will be okay.
You come out of the bathroom patched up and in clean clothes, she looks up as she puts your last pillow back. “You okay?” She asks. You just nod, “more okay that you’re here.” You go to your closet and grab her spare pajama pants and her favorite shirt of yours. “Stay the night Mel?” She smiles “of course” she goes to the bathroom and washes her face and brushes her teeth changing into the pajamas. She walks out and sees you in bed already. She slides into bed and holds you close to her “I’m still sorry. I’ll be spending a lot of time making it up to you and making sure that you are okay and just, I’m so sorry.” You lean up to look at her “hey, I’m past that Issa, it’s okay, we are okay now. Yeah? It will be hard to get over this, especially what I did to myself but I promise that you and I will be okay.” She nods and kisses your forehead and holds you closer if even possible. “Sleep yeah?” You say. She nods “yeah, we can spend all tomorrow in bed if you want.” You smile at this, “of course, anything to make up for lost time.” She herself smiles and says “I love you y/n. I always will, no matter what.” “I love you too Mel, through it all”

Ranking teen wolf characters to least favourite to favourite characters (this is all for fun don’t take any of this seriously)
25 : Peter Hale - forever hating his characters and I hate how the Jeff keeps bringing him back I don’t care about his storyline arc
24 : Derek Hale - same with Derek like the shit he did with Isaac still gets me like nasty man and I don’t care about The Hale lore passed season 1 it should’ve ended there with Peter being dead
23 : Cora Hale - again she had some screen time in season 3 but just kinda vanished I still think she deserves better because the writers were trying to put her with stiles but failed since stydia so she definitely deserves better character arc
22 : Eli Hale - not the biggest fan of The Hale and it was clear that Eli was a replacement from stiles character in the movie but the the reason why he was a afraid to transform into a wear wolf Jeff you did good with one thing in that movie
21 : Jackson Whittemore - again don’t really care for his character arc considering the hole Lydia storyline like and him being the movie just felt weird considering he wasn’t there for season 3 so it just felt out of place in general
20 : Chris argent : I feel like he had a good character arc considering I dislike his character with the hole Scott being a wear wolf thing but season 3 his character was good written love the scenes of him finding out that Allison and Isaac kiss and he goes not a another werewolf
19 : Ethan and Aiden : idk like I feel like the writers could done more again I can’t really remember from both of the twins characters but like to be honest I don’t remember the twins that much
18 : Hikari Zang - she was replacement for Kira and all we know that she dating Liam other than it was just a replacement for Kira character which is sad
17 : braeden - I love her character and I wish the writers did more with her because she was just gone from season 5
16 : Boyd : I love Boyd and Erica character but Boyd deserves better like I feel like if the writers let him on to season 4 he would have been part of the McCall pack
15 : Erica - love Erica character with the lather jacket gang same with boyd miss storyline arc of her becoming part of the McCall pack “she was trying to kill Lydia” meanwhile the pack letting Theo join their pack during season 6 so i don’t care
14 : Hayden Romero - deserves better than being just Liam girlfriend
13 : Mason Hewitt - I love his character Liam / Mason saved season 4 and it’s sad that the movie barely mentions the dynamic and the fact that Mason became a police but yeah love mason must be protected at all cost
12 : Liam Dunbar : can’t do no wrong the movie fucked him over with nothing to do but Liam will always remain my favourite part about season 4/5 and kinda save season 6 with his screen time with Theo but kinda wish Jeff explore the alpha bond with him and Scott a bit more
11 : Noah Stilinski - out of all the parents he a few of the goods one but yeah I did like when stiles told him about the supermarket elements but yeah nothing much to say
10 : Melissa McCall - honestly genuinely one of my favourite characters like it’s kinda rare from teen dramas that we get a bond between mother and son normally the parents are either shit or the main villains kinda vibe so it was nice to see Melissa like into the grp this is a Melissa Mcall Stan page
9 : coach finstock - honestly genuinely one of the best characters from the show like he kinda saved the movie but yeah perfect comedy timing and nothing bad to say
8 : Malia Tate - I do like malia but it’s just that the writers don’t care about her anymore and it’s sad because she had such a great story arc but after she got with Scott it just went straight out the door considering he was still in love with Allison but yeah the movie doesn’t do her character justice like let me in that writers room
7 : Isaac Lahey - DESERVES MORE THAN TWO SEASONS I love him so much and I’m so sad that the isacc didn’t appear in the rest of the show, but yeah his scenes with Scott iconic “I came to win” Isaac lahey deserves more but kinda glad he wasn’t i in the movie because Jeff Davis would’ve destroyed he character even more
6 : Lydia Martin - in like 50/50 with her character like I’m always confused with the banshee shit like the writers just add shit in there especially within the movie, but her character development though season 3-4 but like season 5/6 is just out the door to much banshee shit that I don’t care about
5 : Kira Yukimura - my best girl who deserves so much better one of the best supernatural lore characters and the way the writers wrote her character in season 5 Still pissed me off like she the main reason why we got season 3B with her family background like treat her with some respect and Arden Cho deserves better also Kira really did have the best supernatural lore but the writers were to busy exploring lydia banshee powers but Kira was definitely a stand out to me during season 4 and I’m sad that the writers brought Peter back AGAIN but couldn’t bring back Kira
4 : Allison Argent : I know a lot of people don’t like Allison (but I do) and I’m upset about the movie but I love her character and I’m forever sad about her death the scene with her crying in the elevator with stiles dad genuinely in my top 5 favourite scenes and i kinda like the development of her character arc with her dad also
3 : Theo Raeken : one of the best aspects about season 6 like season 5 he kinda ruined it for me not the worst villians just the wrong script ( it’s Jeff Davis) but I do like how he tries to spilt the McCall pack up I always thought that was a very interesting arc for season 5 (in my opinion) but yeah Theo character kinda saved season 6 what can I say he was fun to watch
2 : Stiles Stilinski what can I say like he genuinely made that show what it is love him or hate him teen wolf wouldn’t be the same without him and he a fan favourite for a reason and Dylan o Brien deserves every bit of credit for bringing his character to life on screen
1 : SCOTT MCCALL one of my top five favourite tv shows characters of all time y’all just don’t get him “my mom does the grocery shopping” “I’m the hot girl” “Liam were brothers now” iconic like genuinely my comfort character
Also these are my opinions feel free to comment down your opinions on these characters (just be nice in the comments) I got the characters on teen wolf wiki from A-Z to which character shows the most in the show but yeah like I do love all the teen wolf characters to their own but the characters in my top 5 will never change for me but yeah can you tell I’m not the biggest fan of The Hale characters sorry not sorry

I just got myself unexcited about TBOC by reading my own Tumblr blog. They have done suggestive photo shoots before and it amounted to nothing!
I was absent from TWD sometime after The Lineup, although I remember the cabin scene and the, “if anything happens to her, I’ll kill you”
The Ezekiel arc drove me away permanently.
I want to see them together.
Their chemistry is magical- Caryl AND McReedus.
I want to see their story get the justice it deserves
Please give me hope!!
-shipping Caryl since 2014
Hello sweet Caryler. ❤️
I'm sorry to hear that you're unexcited again. It's unfortunate that there are a lot of unethical marketing practices that were used in the past to promote the flagship show.
We all want their story to get the justice it deserves. Norman and Melissa showing up for Carylers at Tribeca is a great sign, but the show's marketing needs to follow suit. We're hoping that the promo campaign focuses on them equally, amplifies the McReedus chemistry, and then follows through with the Caryl moments on the show.
The "friendship" narrative only works when it describes McReedus because they're clearly close friends. But the Caryl promo needs to lean into the romantic potential for it to validate the core audience and rise above the noise the friendship narrative can create. (Here's a post I wrote that will explain what I mean by 'noise'.)
Caryl have earned a beautiful, intricate, deep, cathartic moment of explicit canon. From the sounds of the Tribeca discourse, Melissa's vision for Carol's story landed really well with the audience. They should lean on her creative influence on the narrative to guide the post-production process. I say that because the season is focused more on Carol's story.
When it comes to Caryl, we hope Melissa and Norman can guide the narrative because they know their characters better than anyone. The Tribeca panel was meant to create a hook for the core audience, and it did a great job of that. Hopefully, the narrative hooks, emotional beats, and storytelling follow through with the hype.
Long story short: We wish we could give you hope but as excited as we are after Tribeca, we're also treading carefully. Do what's best for your mental health.
Maybe hearing us gush about our favourite Caryl scenes from the flagship show will help? 👀 (shamelessly plugging the podcast here)

______________________________
The last week of the tour was pure torture. I refused to get out of my bed if it didn’t imply getting on the stage, that was my only exception. Chris came to see me every day, trying to know what happened that changed me so drastically. Even at that moment, I kept the secret as I promised - not one soul would ever hear it from me.
After we ended our thing, I thought I would suffer in peace, but that was not the case. Apparently, someone saw us one night, leaving Ricky’s bus. That person took pictures of us and posted them online. I cried even more when I saw them. We were holding hands and smiling at each other. The photo in which we were kissing destroyed me the most. His arms were on my waist, making sure there was no space left between us, while my hands were in his hair. Even while kissing we were both smiling and everyone thought we were very much in love. I wished this was the case.
While we were trying to put out the fire separately, because I refused to talk to him, Ben decided to make this whole thing even worse for me. One hour after the pictures were posted, he made a post on a social platform about me. He called me all sort of names, saying that Ricky was the one to end our relationship and promised that things will not stay this way. I knew what he can do when he is jealous, but I was sure this time it was only a strategy to clear his name in case I would decide to tell the world the real reason behind our breakup.
I was still looking at those pictures when I heard Chris came to visit me for the last time.
“How are you feeling?”
“Nothing changed. Maybe a little bit worse than before.”
“You can’t stay like this forever.”
“I know. I just need to get out of here.”
“Well, this is the last day. And as the tradition goes, we start with a party and we will end with one as well.”
“I’m not coming. And you’ll never change my mind.”
“Believe me, it will help you. I’ll make sure Ricky will be nowhere near you.”
“I said no, Chris. We have one more concert in an hour. After that, we will go home. I already talked with the boys and they said this is the best thing to do as well.”
He sighed and looked at the ground. I knew he was trying his best to help me, but no one could do anything at this moment.
“Alright, I won’t try to convince you anymore. I promise I will come to see you when I’ll be in L.A.. But you have to promise me the next time I’ll see you, you’ll be happier.”
“That I can promise.”
I gave him a hug, thanking him for being my best friend.
____________________________________
Ricky’s point of view
Even though he denied it every time, I know Chris hates me. I broke Lexus’s heart and for that, he will never forgive me. He started a fight after the pictures were posted and demanded to know everything. Unfortunately, I had to break my promise and tell him everything. I couldn’t help her now, but Chris could, only if he knew the truth. Every time I would ask how she was feeling, he would respond that it was not my business. I wished to be that easy to ask her myself, but Xander acted like her personal bodyguard.
While I was walking to the party, I realized how afraid I was to see her. Maybe it will make her even more upset, or she will pretend I do not exist at all. I don’t know which is worse.
I got a drink and found a free table, searching the place for Lexus. I really hope Chris convinced her to come, under the pretext that she will feel better. Not seeing her for a week started something in me that I could not explain.
After some time, I saw Chris approaching me, but he was alone.
“Congratulations, Ricky. I’ve never seen Lexus so heartbroken before.”
“Where is she? Maybe I can try to talk to her and …”
“She just left. Being here made her feel worse, so she decided to go home.”
I had enough time for 7 days to apologize to her and I didn’t. Now she is gone and who knows when I’ll see her again.

Les Caryl
Not wishful thinking. Not a ruse. Carol is coming back, and I’m grateful. Mainly, to Melissa McBride for everything she’s given us over the years and for everything she’s willing to give us in order to keep telling Carol’s story. It’s easy to see how much of her heart and soul has gone into this character, and I never want to take that for granted. We all have different reasons for loving Carol, but I think a lot of us draw inspiration from watching an underdog like her turn into the hero everybody needs. It’s been nice to see that mirrored in our fight over the past year to remind AMC how imperative she is to TWDU’s success.
Whether you participated in blitzes, sent letters, spammed AMC’s/TWD’s social media accounts, or just kept Carol in the conversation on your own terms, you persevered just like she did and now you’re reaping the rewards just like she better will. It just goes to show that when people come together to support a female lead with as much talent and grace as Melissa, that and a little bit of hope can make a huge impact.
For anyone who didn’t have hope or didn’t want to set themselves up for more disappointment, that’s more than fair. Maybe yesterday’s confirmation will give you something to look forward to again. Nothing is ever guaranteed, but if you find comfort in these characters, it’s perfectly okay to let yourself feel that too. Love what you love.
I know there are some who wanted Melissa to just walk away and leave Norman/AMC in the dust, but unlike Carol, she isn’t a fictional character. We aren’t entitled to her relationships with other people, so we just have to trust she knows how to navigate them on her own. Like I mentioned earlier, landing new roles comes with its own set of challenges regardless of one’s reputation or talent. Casting is a meat market and options for actresses over 35 are limited, especially when execs want to factor in their hair color (because how can they appeal to men 18-49 if they have gray hair 🙄) or their social media presence (because if they’re not active on Twitter, what audience will they bring 😑) All of this is to say, it’s perfectly reasonable for Melissa to choose another path, and no, it doesn’t mean she’s gritting her teeth while she does it. I’m comfortable believing she’s happy to co-lead Caryl’s show. I mean, you saw that smile, right?
I realize that at the end of the day, we’re all just trying to do right by someone we admire, which is tricky from our vantage point because it’s so easy to treat her like she belongs to us, and we have to keep reminding ourselves that she does not. I can’t speak for anyone else, but for me, the intention of campaigning in Melissa’s name was to leave the door open for her to come back on her own terms. If she’s getting everything she wants, if she’s being treated with the respect she deserves, then that’s a win in my book. If this whole ordeal motivates AMC to create a better work environment for all their female talent/employees going forward, even better.
I know this isn’t news, but I’m still going to hold off on watching the show until Carol comes back and if that sounds biased, let me stop you right there. Let’s put aside the BTS fuckery for a second. Let’s ignore the fact that Carol and Melissa are the ones who got the short end of the stick and need my support the most right now. Not only does S1 sound unappealing to me, it actually hurts too much to think about the ways Daryl’s character has been used for personal gain rather than story integrity, which pretty much guarantees a retcon no matter how long it lasts or how drastic it is. His growth over the past 12 years was some of the best I’ve seen on any show let alone TWD, and I want to preserve the version of him I was drawn to in the first place, the version three out of four showrunners actually took the time to nurture. This version. If it’s all just a marketing ploy, trying to target Carylers’ biggest fears to relieve them later, well, I can’t support that either. Caryl fans have been put through enough over the years, especially in the last season, and I think it’s wrong to try to manipulate them into settling (and paying) for less than what they really wanted.
Do I think we can still get something worthwhile in S2? Yes. I just don’t want to risk torturing myself to get there. Anyone who’s read my blog for a long time knows I would generally give the show the benefit of the doubt because I assumed the payoff would come sooner or later. Needless to say, it didn’t. I know why it didn’t and I hope those issues have been properly dealt with, but if I want to maintain that Caryl/Carol are important for viewership, then I need to watch and subscribe for Caryl/Carol. If I want Melissa to get the pay hike she deserves, then I need to tune in when she’s on my screen, not before. I do trust her judgement for what it’s worth, and I want to look forward to S2 provided there are no irreparable damages beforehand and TPTB put their audience first, meaning they deliver on the promises they made.
The biggest promise, UNAMBIGUOUS CANON, is crucial for story integrity, character growth, and representation. It shouldn’t be a huge undertaking when the chemistry can practically write itself. Daryl and Carol never have nor ever will need gimmicks to keep me invested.
While we wait for Caryl to reunite, I hope the fandom can start to heal and get back to spreading endless love for one of the greatest ships on television. I’ll never stop mourning the loss of the spinoff we were supposed to have, and part of me still hopes we can get it back someday. But I’ll hope for the best on the show we’re getting right now. Caryl deserve it, Melissa deserves it, and the fans deserve it.

10 Years of Slavery - Ch. 21
I heard back from Ellie a day after they returned from the weekend getaway. I was at the library studying when she texted me a simple "you alright?". I replied almost immediately, and eagerly:
"All good here Ellie. I was wondering about you."
Tumblr media
"I'm good. Just wanted to tell you we're back but I need some rest. Will call you later" ending with a kiss emoji. I left the library and went back to home straight, and cancelled my plans for the evening. I was just eager to talk with her. I was genuinely, and honestly missing Ellie. But I wasn't sure how much of that feeling is coming from my desperate need for an orgasm.
She called me late that night. I was already rock-hard when I heard Ellie's silky voice. I was carefully avoiding touching myself to avoid any unexpected orgasms.
"Hey. How are you?"
"I'm good baby. It's great to hear your voice! I was worried."
"Nah nothing to worry. I had a good time. And some weird stuff happened, so I need to talk to you. But you know, I miss you a lot."
"I miss you too baby."
"I wish you'd be here to pamper me."
"I can do my best over the phone, but we just need to wait two more weeks for a bathtub pampering."
How are you holding on? Did you make any accidents?"
"No Ellie."
"Should I believe you? How can a man hold himself for such a long time?"
"I swear I didn't misbehave. But it's getting harder and harder."
"I believe you babe. You love me enough to control yourself. And I think you deserve a treat. You can jerk off while we speak. But you can cum only once. And you will shoot everything on your stomach. And once done, you'll stay without cleaning yourself and we will carry on chatting. Understood?"
"Yeah!" I was delighted to hear that. I was allowed to cum, and I got to talk to Ellie while doing it! So it was the best I could've ask for. I started touching myself very slowly. It was my chance to masturbate, and I was going make it to take at least a couple minutes long.
"I love the thrill in your voice! Seems like it's really working, isn't it? You're getting better and better at being a slave."
"I guess so."
"Do you have any regrets?"
"For being a slave?"
"No, in general. Being with me."
"Not at all! I truly love what we have Ellie. You know that."
"Do you love being a slave too?"
"Well, I don't like being a slave. But I love being your slave. Or we can say I'm learning to love it."
"So you're still a work in progress?"
"Let's put it that way, I'm striving to get better at it for you."
"I like that! I'm very lucky to have you babe."
"Me too, baby. I love you."
"Are you jerking off already?"
"Well, yes. It's been several weeks and I'm about to explode!"
"Haha, that's funny! Make it a good one then! If you can hold yourself until we finish, I might reward you."
"Exciting! What kind of a reward?"
"I'll decide it later. But can you hold yourself?"
"I'll do my best. Believe me, I'm practising this for a very long time." I let my penis go, and squeezed my hand between my butt and the mattress to prevent any accidents.
"So, you wondering what we were up to all that time?"
"Dying to listen." And I was serious, I was now willing to hear Ellie's stories to imagine myself in Dylan's position!
"So we arrived the place in the afternoon. There were three couples, Dylan and I, Nina and Ryan, and Ashley and Ben. And then there were the singles, Megan, Melissa, Alex, Sean and Joe."
"Sounds very crowded!"
"Yeah, isn't it? Sean and Joe were just last-minute additions. And you know, there weren't even enough beds in the house! So we had the first problem immediately after we arrived. In the website the place was advertised as having 3 double beds, two singles and two couches on common area to sleep. But actually there were two double beds and three singles! So there weren't enough rooms for couples. Also, Alex was hoping to secure a room with Megan. Do you remember them? They're the couple from the other night that hooked up after the party. They're not an official couple yet, but it's a work in progress. So there were clearly not a place for them and Alex wasn't happy about it. We decided to give two double beds to couples, so each couple were to stay two nights in a double bed, and spend the third night on one of the couches. We drew numbers, and Dylan and I got to spend the second night on the couch."
"So, it's official for everyone then? That you and Dylan are a couple?"
"Not exactly, we're just friends with benefits and quite open about it. So there is not an official relationship between us. But yeah, for the weekend we were kind of a couple."
"Do they know about me?"
"They know that I have a boyfriend in somewhere that I am not in the best terms and about to break up officially. But don't worry babe, no one cares about you around here. But don't interrupt me with your stupid questions about yourself, I'm trying to tell you about my weekend here!"
"I'm sorry Ellie."
"Stop worrying already, I'm not letting you go anywhere. You need to build some self-confidence babe. Yeah, anyways, I was talking about the rooms. It's pretty hot here so we figured out some of us could even sleep in the garden, so no one cared about the beds that much. Megan and Melissa settled in two of the single beds, and the guys agreed to take turns on the remaining bed. Then, we all went to our rooms to get prepared for the pool party whole night. Dylan just got naked and laid on the bed to watch me getting dressed. And his cock was already hard as fuck, so I made a joke saying that other girls would try to steal him from me if he walks around with a cock like that. And he told me that I need to work hard to keep him then. You know what, he knows how to push my buttons. So, I went towards him, and started kissing him. Then made my way downward slowly. When I reached to his cock, Dylan crossed his hands under his head and told me to go on, and I started sucking him off. I think I'm getting really good at it babe."
"I hope I'll learn it too one day baby."
"Haha no way! I'm not sucking off my slave!" Her voice raised sharply. She sounded like she thoroughly annoyed about what I said.
"But I thought, maybe when we got married..."
"Then you can think when we got married. For now, I forbid you to talk about it. And even fantasise about it. That's gross!"
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to..."
"And your orgasm is cancelled! Next time, when you'll learn how to be a respectful slave, we can think about it."
"Please Ellie, I need it so much!"
"No, and shut up."
I hit my head with the palm of my hand, and kept my silence. That was a rookie mistake. I was getting angry at myself to be that naive. Oral sex is a an act of selflessness, it's something you enjoy because you make your partner happy. So it's stupid to think about Ellie doing it to me, her slave. This was a one-way relationship and I was all-in for quite a long time! I was a slave, not a boyfriend anymore. I thought that had to remind it to myself more often.
After a couple of seconds of silence, she carried on:
"I'm trying to talk here. Will you allow me to talk? Or are you going to make it about yourself again?"
"Sorry, won't interrupt again."
"Good, you're learning. But you ruined it now."
"I'm sorry Ellie, I was trying to be an active listener! Didn't mean to interrupt!"
"I know, I might be overreacting now. But I don't feel like talking about it anymore. And I wasn't sure about telling everything anyways. So, how was your weekend?"
I tried to change her mind for no avail. Then, after a short and empty convo, we ended our phone call with a final reminder for me to not cum.
After hanging up, I laid down on my bed and let my mind wonder around. I was aware of my mistake, I was clearly busy with my own fantasies in my head, and wasn't listening Ellie properly. Whenever she was talking about something or someone, I was imagining myself right next to her, and concentrating my own imagination. And I realised that it was wrong. I wasn't prioritising Ellie.
From now on, I decided, I should be removing myself and my ego from our relationship. If I'm listening about how she spent her day, I should be focusing on her day, nothing else. I shouldn't be trying to put my imaginary self next to her and re-live the day in my mind. If I was to refrain from cumming, I had to be channeling the excess energy on thinking how can I get better for Ellie, instead of just trying to distract myself. If I was to be her slave, I had to leave all my ego behind. Just like she was pushing me to do for a while already. She was right from the beginning. I was impressed by her genius once again. So, everything was much clearer to me now.
If I was to kiss her feet, it should be purely to make her feel divine.
If I was to go down on her, it should be purely to give her pleasure.
If I was to be her slave, it should be purely because she deserves it.
Not because I anticipate any sort of return, now or in the future.
That should be the way for me.
I summarised my thoughts in a long message, sprinkled it with a lot of apologies, and sent it to Ellie. And, soon after my phone rang. It was Ellie.

Gary is cool. He's even funny on occasion, when he remembers the punchline. He treats Melissa like a Queen—though she deserves nothing less—and worships the ground she walks on. But you’re not convinced he’s good enough for her.
You’re watching the two interact across the lunchroom with simmering jealousy. It’s an ugly emotion you’re not fond of feeling, but one you can’t seem to shake these days. The grip on your grading pen tightens as Melissa laughs at some joke of Gary’s.
“Girl, you’ve got to do something about all… that.” Ava says, motioning to your expression, “Channel that anger into something productive. Like packing orders. Or sex.”
“I’m not participating in your pyramid scheme.” You answer.
“Oh, so you’re going to get some? Finally. It’s hard having to entertain you with my stories when I’m not getting anything back.”
“To be fair, I never asked to hear about your sex life,” You point out. Ava shrugs and you continue, “If you tell me about Tyrone one more time I might lose it.”
“Tyrone? He’s old news. I’m onto Jamal now, keep up.”
“Jamal? What about his sister?”
“She was into some weird stuff. I’m freaky too, but even I draw the line at dolls.”
Ava shivers and you decide not to ask. It’s better for your sanity that way, though you’re morbidly curious. Ava never tells a bad story.
Another presence joins the table as Janine sidles up, looking far too awake and positive for 9 am on a Tuesday. She smiles obliviously.
“Dolls? I loved dolls as a kid.”
Ava scoffs, “Yeah, I bet you made them kiss each other and all that nonsense.”
“Of course I did. It was like directing my own little show!”
“Is that where the control issues started?” You ask.
Janine’s oblivious smile drops and she levels you with a look. It’s closer to matching Barbara’s with every day that passes, it’s almost impressive; but unless Barbara herself levels one at you, you’re going to remain unphased.
“Don’t shame my childhood development just because you’re jealous over Melissa and the vending machine guy.”
You turn red, “I am not jealous!”
“Right. And I wasn’t named tastiest doomsday prepper in Philly.” Ava says, rolling her eyes.
You and Janine lock eyes, wearing matching expressions of bewilderment. Everytime you talk to Ava you learn more about her; that isn’t always a good thing. When Janine opens her mouth, you give her a subtle shake of your head. Once the two get started it’s impossible to get them to stop.
Unfortunately, Janine is too stubborn, and has to do things her way; she engages the Principal in a battle of wits she can’t win. You tune it out the second she starts in on how doomsday prepping is futile and the kind of neurotic spending reaction it induces only benefits the government. That isn’t a can of worms you feel like glancing inside.
You decide to torture yourself emotionally instead.
It should be easy to watch Melissa laugh and grin in that smug, bright-eyed way she pulls off so well, but it turns your stomach to know Gary is the cause of it. He’s nice enough—that’s the excuse you try to use everytime, to no avail—but he isn’t you. And against the slim odds of someone like Melissa ever wanting you romantically, you wish it was you.
Does he know her favorite restaurants, her favorite soap operas? Does he know about the years Melissa dedicated to caring for her Nana? Does he know how incredibly fucking lucky he is to have Melissa Ann Schemmenti wrapped around his finger?
The likelihood of him knowing anything important is slim-to-none. The redhead is too private to share information so soon, but the little green-eyed monster in your head prods you, asking what if he does? Your fists clench in your lap. You’ve been climbing the stairway to heaven this whole time and Gary’s probably on the highway.
“Hey, hon,” You’re surprised from your thoughts to see the object of them in front of you, leaning on the table, smiling.
You smile back, “Hey, Mel.”
“What are you doing tonight?”
Hope claws up your throat. You shove it down violently, leaning back in your chair, arms crossed over your chest.
“Depends. Why?”
“Gary was asking about you, he wants to meet ya. I was thinking you could bring your secret lover on a double-date tonight. You meet my guy, I meet yours.”
You tilt your head, brows scrunching, “Secret lover?”
“Oh come on,” Melissa rolls her eyes. She levels you with a look that says don’t give me that bullshit, “I’m not blind. You suddenly go silent on all things romance and think I wouldn’t figure out what that meant?”
Nerves and mortification make you nod, smiling sheepishly. Your chest hurts. Of course she’d notice; after several years of friendship and teaching together, how could she not? The two of you were practically glued at the hip before Gary came along. No topic had been too much and then for you to go silent… you can see how that’d come across. You’re glad she didn’t suss out the real reason.
“I’m not sure. Things are still pretty new…”
“I’ll buy your drinks.”
That makes you pause.
Then you see how she’s looking at you. She’s leaning down into your space, grinning like she knows she's won. You can’t deny her anything, not when you know how much it’ll mean to her for you to really meet Gary as her romantic interest rather than a passing acquaintance. It’ll kill you. Watching her laugh with him will undo your feeble grip on sanity.
It’ll kill you, but you’ll do it for her anyway.
“When and where?”
— —
This is a terrible idea.
The place Gary chose is a total dive, and not the good kind; every surface is covered in a fine layer of grime and ash, ninety percent of the men and women at the bar smoking like chimneys, and the beer you ordered tastes like if someone decided to waft alcohol in the direction of their drink. All of this you could forgive.
What you can’t forgive is the absence of a proper pool table.
Every table in the place is falling apart at the seams. There’s maybe two cues per table and some of the nets have holes large enough to send grown men chasing after solid and striped balls alike.
The worst part? Melissa stands in the center of it all, smiling like none of it bothers her. You know better. Her smile is strained at the edges, her eyes slightly pained. If only she’d say the word, you’d sweep her out of here. She just maintains that strained smile when you walk up to her.
“Where’s the secret lover I was promised?” Melissa asks.
You smile, though your heart isn’t in it. It’d taken endless promises to get her to agree, but eventually—
“Sorry I’m late y'all. There’s a guy selling mixtapes outside and I had to hear it before I bought anything. Can’t be too careful, you know?”
Melissa’s smile melts from her face. Her eyes bore hard into you, dark with emotion. As she looks between you and Ava—who leans against the table next to you, either totally oblivious or uncaring—her jaw tenses.
Gary chooses that moment to speak, a jovial smile on his face, “Now I did not see this coming! I never would’ve guessed you two would be seeing each other.”
“Neither did I.” Melissa says.
You want to disappear into the floor. Despite the fact that Melissa is openly seeing Gary, you feel you’ve done something wrong.
It doesn’t help that Ava drapes herself against your side. She makes deliberate, intense eye contact with Melissa, and takes a slow sip of a drink you failed to notice. The tension is thick enough to cut with a knife. You’re grateful for the absence of anything sharp.
“What can I say, I lucked out. Anyone would be lucky to get a piece of her.” Ava says. Her tone is startlingly sincere.
You give her a hard look. She just shrugs.
“No drink for me?” You ask, anything to distract from the way you can’t look at Melissa.
Ava raises a brow, “If you want something, you just gotta ask.”
“I’d kill for a gin and tonic.”
“Got it.”
“I’ve got it, you two sit.” Melissa interjects.
She extracts herself from Gary and stands at the same time Ava does. On another night, you’d take Melissa's offer as the kind act it is, but tonight it feels strangely like a threat.
The two are caught in a strange staring contest. You want to reach out and tug Ava down into her seat, but you’re frozen, wondering what the hell is going on.
“I’ll get it.” Ava says.
“She’s my friend.” Melissa crosses her arms over her chest.
“She’s my date.”
Melissa’s body tenses at the word.
You’re too busy watching Ava, trying to decipher where she’s been hiding this acting talent. She had been reluctant to join your ruse and now it seems like she couldn’t be anywhere else. For a moment it feels authentic enough to make your stomach turn.
Gary cuts in before Melissa can back down, “I could use another beer if you’re going towards the bar.”
“Sure. You got it, Gar.”
The two walk away in tense silence. Melissa keeps looking at Ava from the corner of her eyes, while the principal pretends she isn’t there.
It leaves you with Gary and you smile. Trying to pretend there’s no tension is easier with the women across the bar.
“It’s good to meet you,” He says, friendly enough, “Melissa talks about you enough I feel like I already know you, but I’m glad she got you to come out tonight.”
“Yeah. It’s good to meet you officially. Besides the occasional run-ins during lunch, I mean.”
He nods and drinks the last swig of his beer. You take a few seconds to glance through the haze of smoke towards the bar. Melissa leans one arm on it, waiting while the bartender runs around helping out rough-looking men and women. She looks perfectly placed and yet stands out; she’s probably the most beautiful woman to ever set foot in this place.
Ava’s chatting up a woman at the bar like Melissa isn’t even there. So much for her putting on a good act.
Even if she’s not looking at Ava directly, you know Melissa’s listening, cataloging everything. You’ll get an earful about having self-respect when choosing partners later.
“There’s another reason I had her ask you here tonight.” Gary says.
His face is serious. You’ve never seen the man without a smile and it unnerves you. Trying not to let that show, you raise an eyebrow.
“I wanted to meet the woman Melissa’s in love with.”
You blanch.
“Gary, that’s—she’s not—“
A hand settles on top of yours and his smile makes an appearance. It’s kind, kinder than you deserve after all the things you’ve thought about him.
“I knew there were three of us in this relationship when I went out with her the first time. But I’m giving you the chance to make it two again,” He says, “She’s crazy about you and I can see you feel the same way. She’s all yours.”
You should be overjoyed. Melissa feels the same way about you, you have a shot? Instead, you feel angry.
“You’re going to give her up just like that?” You snap.
Gary startles you by laughing.
“I can’t exactly give up what isn’t mine.”
“She chose you.”
“Sometimes people make mistakes.” When you seem unconvinced, he shakes his head, “Melissa’s a good woman, she deserves someone who makes her happy. That just happens to be you and not me. I’m not mad about it.”
You’re reeling. The room feels like it's spinning and you don’t have time to regain your focus before the women return. Ava sets down your gin and tonic with a nod.
Melissa starts up an animated conversation with Gary, who nods along, adding in his own comments. He keeps glancing over at you when Melissa won’t. The whole thing makes your stomach turn; you have no clue what you’re doing.
You grab Ava’s hand, flashing a strained smile at the pair, “Excuse us for a moment,” and drag the principal off to the bathrooms.
Once you’ve shoved Ava in the ladies room and locked the door behind you, you spin on your heel towards the other woman.
“I know you want this to bother her, but dragging me into the bathroom for a quickie is a bit much, even by my standards.” Ava says.
“That’s not what this is.”
“Right, why else am I here then?”
“When you and Melissa went to grab drinks, Gary told me Melissa’s in love with me.”
Ava stares at you.
“That’s it? I could have told you that months ago.”
You blink, “What?”
“Yeah, neither of you are subtle. You practically have it written on your billboard sized forehead.”
Suddenly self-conscious, you reach a hand up to your forehead, before reminding yourself to focus on the task at hand. Ava knew Melissa returned your feelings the whole time. You wonder who else knows and has let you stew in jealousy for weeks.
Melissa’s reaction to Ava makes a lot more sense. It’s almost comforting to know that you’re not the only one who has been fighting with jealousy. You feel very, very blind.
“Who else knows?” You ask. Your friend gives you a blank stare, “Seriously? Everyone knows?”
“Yes. Do me a favor though and play dumb a few more weeks? I’ve got good money on this.”
“You bet on me?”
“I bet on Melissa, actually, which is why I need you to keep quiet.”
“Ava, I’m not going to ignore this because you want to win a bet. Come on.”
Ava rolls her eyes, “Fine, I’ll cut you in on the bet.”
“Ava!” You glare.
“This could be your chance to support a young, black entrepreneur. It’s hard out here.”
“Try that on Jacob.”
She lets out an ugh and throws her hands up. You want to be upset that she’s asking you to keep quiet, to lose more valuable time with Melissa, but you can’t be; even if she did leave you oblivious for weeks. If you’re going to be upset with her, you have to be upset with everyone.
It comes from a place of letting you make your own decisions; you know that and admire it just a little. But you were oblivious. Melissa seems like she is too, if Gary’s talk told you anything. Would they have let the two of you circle each other the whole time?
You would be miserable if Gary—Gary, who you’d been unfair towards this whole time—hadn’t spoken up. He’s sacrificing his chances with Melissa so you can have your own. Mentally, you make a note to get the man some kind of ‘thank-you’ gift.
Ava snaps in front of your face and you jerk back.
“What are you going to do?” She asks.
“Uh… talk to her?”
“Not the energy I was looking for, but good enough. Let’s go.”
Ava grabs your arm, not unkindly, and drags you to the door. You drag your feet.
“Now?!”
She doesn’t even dignify your question with a response. The bathroom door is opened and you’re nudged through it. You walk, but throw a glare over your shoulder, annoyed at her sudden silence. Ava doesn’t acknowledge it.
Gary is the only one left at the table and you panic, eyes searching the room. The heart in your chest settles when you catch a glimpse of familiar red hair.
Melissa’s across the bar at one of the more put together pool tables, surrounded by women in a shocking amount of leather. Her eyes are focused right on you. They move briefly to Ava, though she doesn’t seem to find anything damning. The focus of her gaze moves away when one of the other players nudges her and she leans over the table to line up a shot.
You’re caught for a second in watching her. Her eyes narrow before she settles in to take the shot and when she pulls back the cue, she makes direct eye contact, and sinks a solid ball in one of the pockets.
Cheers go up from the woman you assume she’s playing with. You don’t bother to look at her. Instead, you make a direct beeline for Melissa; her eyes following you every step of the way.
“Can I talk to you?” You ask when you reach her.
You’re well aware of the glances her fellow players are throwing in your direction, but you don’t care. Melissa seems curious, but she gives nothing else away.
“I’m in the middle of a game, hon.”
Laying your hand on her arm, “Please, Mel.”
Like magic, you watch her soften. She nods and hands off her cue to the nearest person without looking. You lead the way outside, wanting away from the noise and smoke for a few minutes, if only to clear your head.
The silence is too tense for your liking, but neither of you are doing anything to break it. You breathe deeply. You’re at a loss on what to say; how do you tell someone you’re in love with them?
Instead of anything rational coming from your mouth, you ask, “How do you feel about Gary?”
Melissa jerks in surprise, “That’s what you pulled me out here for?”
“He seems to think your feelings, your heart, lie elsewhere,” You barrel forward, hoping it works in your favor, “Namely, with me.”
Her eyes widen slightly before she schools her expression. It’s all you need to feel more secure in blindly following Gary’s word.
“I’m not sure where he got that idea.” Melissa says.
“But you’re not denying it.”
“Does it matter? You seem to have things pretty easy with Ava.”
A note of bitterness slips into her voice. You soften, recognizing the underlying jealousy you’d been feeling only this morning.
“It matters to me,” You say, “because I’m crazy about you, Mel, and I need to know you feel the same way.”
Melissa doesn’t bother to hide her surprise this time. You smile, but fidget under all of her attention. You want to reveal every thought and feeling to this woman in a way that’s overwhelming. She seems so shocked, you can’t help but want to assure her of how real your feelings are.
“I didn’t think it was possible to love someone this much,” You admit. It feels odd to say it out loud, “But you make a lot of impossible things feel possible.”
She looks at you like she’s never seen you before. It’s daunting.
“You really mean that?” Melissa asks.
“Wholeheartedly.”
“And what about Ava?”
You chuckle, “I bribed her into playing the part. She’s a surprisingly good actress.”
“Good.”
Melissa leans forward and kisses you.
It isn’t the kind of kiss you expect, but it’s the kind you always daydreamed about; the soft, almost hesitant way she claims your lips, while her hands dig into your hips. You’ve never felt so awkward and so pleasant in your life. You have no idea what to do with your hands.
The other kisses in your life never felt so strange. You wonder how much they really meant to you, if this is what a real, loving kiss feels like; unsure and yet, eager.
Throwing your nerves out the window, you give in to all of it. You sink into the whirlwind of emotions and wrap yourself around Melissa. Her kiss grows more insistent and you match it, pulling where she pushes, moving with every forceful press of her lips.
You’re on your last shred of oxygen when she pushes you back. Only an inch of space separates the two of you taking in furious gulps of breath, cheeks flushed pink and wearing matching smiles. It hardly feels real.
“You’ve been holding out on me.” Melissa says.
“Hardly. I’d have kissed you in a second if you asked.” You say sincerely.
“Me? Why would I be the one to ask you?”
You raise a brow, “Well, you were the one seeing someone else.”
“I wouldn’t have gone out with him if you said something.”
A laugh leaves your lips unbidden. Your eyes sparkle when you look up at Melissa, wondering how you managed to get so lucky. You’re not sure you’ll ever be able to answer that question. She’s wonderful and kind and beautiful and all the things you feel you don’t deserve. She’s yours anyway.
Her eyes shine as she stares back. Wishing you could jump into her mind, you get lost in them. Then you do as she wants and capture her lips in another kiss. It’s shorter than the first and more comfortable, but the feeling of newness still lingers.
Not for the first time, you wonder how much time you’ve lost being jealous. But you try not to dwell too much; it’s difficult when the most beautiful woman in the world is staring into your eyes. The lost time doesn’t matter when you have it now—when you have her now.

The most direspectful Queerbait in TV history.
I will never stop saying how much The CW did have the opportunity to make it explicit that nothing would happen between Kara and Lena, yet they continued queerbaiting until the end. Leaving the two without romantic pairs knowing how much chemistry exists between the actresses and the amount of Supercorp fans. Making scenes in this season much more suggestive than they were in the past. It is extremely disrespectful to the LGBTQ+ community when you see people falling in love and getting attached to a couple for them to literally use that to have audience and mess with fans' feelings. We were the ones engaging on social media, we were the ones fighting for Supercorp and also Dansen. What's wrong with making a main female character have a female romantic pair? They even made Lex ‘’fall in love’’ in 2 episodes doing a much further attack to those people who are the majority among the fans. It's too dirty and is ridiculous that in the year 2021 I'm still arguing about this lack of lgbtq+ representation just becouse they can't manage to have two sapphic couple in a show. Beside all this, i know for sure how much Melissa and Katie gave their best to give us a great ultimate perfomance according to the script, you can feel their chemistry until the very end. On The CW they call themselves progressive but they are just hypocrites of the worst kind. I wish Supergirl had a TV network that really valued her and didn't put a lot of obstacles in the way of something so easy to do. I wish Supercorp, Dansen and all the women in this series had been valued .They deserve better. They always had.

Omg do you have more cute hcs with the lov and class1a/1b
I dont care how long or short it is, I ABSOLUTELY LOVE READING THEM 💕💕💕💕💖 😊😊
Theyre so comforting <333
YES I HAVE A BUNCH. COME TAKE IT ALL.
Tomura is an expert in video games, right? Well, he's currently working from afar with Hatsume and Melissa to create a VR system to help the kids at UA train.
Everything because the first thing he did when meeting Nezu was telling him the UA system sucked.
No more public exposure, no more simple barriers keeping away the villains from the kids, no more pushing them to dangerous places with no proper supervision.
The new job of the League when it comes to working is the UA is keeping the place as safe as possible and helping the kids recover from the trauma of the war.
Dabi doesn't like working directly with the kids, so his job consist on patrolling around the UA. In case a crisis is reported, he's the first at the place and his job is to keep the crisis on minimum 'til the teachers arrive.
The funniest part is the type of crisis he has solved so far. They include:
Helping people with their crushes because they tried to confess and caused an accident. (Dabi has the fun of his life with it, being honest).
Accidents in the kitchen. (No much he can do except using Shoto as a way of taking down the flames).
Stupid fights (He is banned from helping in those since he cheered for Shoto when he was fistfighting Iida for saying something to Midoriya).
And his favorite: keeping Mineta at bay. Dabi is not the type of gentleman that defends women constantly, because he just doesn't care about helping anyone. But Mineta is a type of gross he would have incinerate in the streets if he was a man and not a kid. So instead, he just walks from a safe distance and keeps scaring the kid when he's about to annoy one of the girls.
Tomura always find Dabi is the halls complaining about the no smoking rule
They make fun of each other a little until they realize they should be working and there are kids staring at them.
Class 1-A talks about Dabi like the older brother who was in jail.
Oh, but Dabi told me...
They are actually well informed about a bunch of stuff and they know how to take care of street criminals better now.
Ah, but they're also the ones who check if he is not drinking too much, if he's having proper rest, if his burns and staples are taken care of, if he's not too anxious or depressed, if hes' taking his meds...
If he's not following one of those, they call Natsuo. Oh man, Natsuo has become the emergency contact of half the League somehow. Maybe because he has a golden heart or maybe because they all are scared of Fuyumi by some weird reason.
Shoto is the other emergency contact when it comes to Dabi, hmmm, but sometimes he just follows Dabi bad example and well.
Dabi is the anti-Santa. He's gonna give you that one gift you wanted but everyone said no because it's dangerous.
"Dabi, I'm trying to make a safer space for the kids" , "Tomura, I'm trying to make them relax".
After getting fired twice by Aizawa, Dabi is finally behaving.
This has nothing to do with the fact that he's finally dating Tomura tho.
WHICH TAKE US TO: SPINNER, THE BROTHER WHO ACTUALLY ACKNOWLEDGES HIS RESPONSIBILITIES.
Spinner works in the same thing as Dabi, but he's the reliable one.
Getting Uraraka down when she starts floating on her sleep, calming people down when they're having anxiety attacks, noting when someone is having a bad day and requesting the teachers to let the person rest...
Spinner is the one actually helping them with their ptsd. He makes everything so easy and pleasant. It's like they're just kids taking classes and having fun.
Besides, class 1-B knows he is amazing at cuddling and people love his hugs. Just by seeing Spinner, they cheer up.
He and Shinso are responsible for the purple hair tendency among the kids of General Studies. Their heroes.
He's also the one who helps the kids with their training sessions when they need a partner but there's no one else to help them.
He became one of the official bus drivers of the school after taking some lessons and requesting a license.
He sings with them while they travel, he always has snacks in case someone is hungry and he has pills in case someone is motion sick. Well, a bunch of pills since Dabi is always motion sick.
He had a crush on Tomura but he realized it was more platonic than anything.
Now now, Tomura and Spinner have matching gamer tattoos that said Player #1 and Player #2. Dumbasses in action.
If Dabi is the problematic uncle and Spinner is the responsible uncle...
That leave us with: Compress the artistic dad and Kurogiri the dad who's always working far away but you can totally rely on.
THE VIDEO CALLS WITH KUROGIRI AND COMPRESS ARE SO CUTE.
101 Flirting with Compress.
All the kids in all courses have a personalized mask. Compress is addicted to creating them.
His beautiful, mischievous kids that once, trying to distract him, stole his prosthesis and kept it going around the school from room to room.
Turns out it was a surprise party, but man if it was fun because Compress pretended the whole time he was a pirate looking for his long buried treasure.
HE GOT A PARROT AND HE NAMED HIM RED BEAK.
Bakugo almost exploded the whole place after hearing such a ridiculous name.
Well, Red Beak loves making fun of Bakugo, repeating everything he says.
RED BEAK AND KIRISHIMA ARE BESTIES. YES YES.
The Bakusquad would kill for Red Beak.
Sero is teaching him Spanish, Mina is teaching him to dance, Denki is teaching him bad jokes and Jirou is teaching him to sing.
Tokoyami is the official protector of Red Beak. Koda is the translator.
On the other hand, Kurogiri always gives them some honey and other things when he visits the school.
He congratulates them on their achievements, he hears them for hours talking about their adventures and he is the old friend you call when it's 3am, you're feeling bad but you don't want to worry no one else.
If you want to solve a problem, call Kurogiri. He's gonna give you the clues but let you solve it yourself.
The award for the dad with more patience goes to: KUROGIRI.
If you really really need to run away from some hours, he can use his quirk to rescue you and he would prepare some tea for you, wrap you in a soft sweater and walk with you through his yard. You can pick flowers or fruit with him until you calm down. Or you can watch old movies with him. Or bake. Being with him is like floating around in the sky, no worries, just clouds and stars and soft noises and lights.
The school always knows when it happens and they are okay with it. Mostly. Just don't do it too much.
Toga is another good option if you need to talk but you don't know with who.
She's actually a great listener and an expert on making things look less stressing than they are. You see, she pays attention at your triggers and moods and if she sees something is bothering the students, she finds a way to distract them immediately, while letting the teachers deal with the problem.
Ah, the queen of gossip.
If you want to know something about someone you need to pay the prize, tho. And she won't even tell you if she considers the secret must be guarded 'til the grave.
She's the one who takes the messages to the parents because she's fast, can hide at plain sight and doesn't put them in danger.
You never know where Toga is. She someone studies like the rest of them, but she's like, selected to secret missions. She has a lot of info but they all trust her somehow.
Maybe is the fact that she would kill and take a stab for you. And that she would never put Deku or Ochaco in danger. Or her family.
She's also Mineta's biggest nightmare.
Try sexualizing the girl and win a terrifying week, courtesy of Toga Himiko.
She won't let you sleep, she won't let you eat, you're gonna wish you were never born. She can make you feel as sexualized, observed and stalked as you make the girls feel. Oh, she's gonna show you exactly how it feels to be a girl.
Also don't sexualize the boys around her either. Stabby queen is not gentle to those who are not gentle with her friends. Period.
Friendly reminder: 0 stabbing accidents since she started studying at UA.
BECAUSE THEY GAVE HER A RUBBER KNIFE.
And finally, the Tomura headcanons.
He's always falling asleep on odd places. The kids have a new name called "let's put a blanket on Tomura".
And then they call Dabi or Spinner to take him somewhere more comfortable.
He's working so hard. He's really working so hard on redeeming himself, even when everyone has already forgiven him. But he has this fear of being a failure or being too much...
The kids are also well trained on how to help him through his anxiety or panic attacks. Even more, some of them have always a pair of gloves in them just in case.
Momo is more than happy to make him more.
It's kinda sad how much he's suffering even now. That's way they all do their best to let him know his doing great.
Kisses in the cheek, compliments on how he's looking, new products to his hair and skin, playing the games he recommends, telling how badass he is when he trains them...
Somehow being around Tomura has help them realize how important is communicating stuff. They all are way healthier now.
Tomura is just... So sincere. He's been instructed to share his thoughts, because he had a problem before with communicating properly. That means he used to forget saying certain information because it was obvious to him, but not to others.
He doesn't mean to hurt people. He's just saying what he thinks. Which also means he offends a bunch of people not by accident. And he doesn't apologize because he is just doing what he's been told.
Midoriya and Shigaraki's discussions are epic. And so are their fights. Yes, they fight like siblings. Which is crazy funny because they are like "friendly reminder you tried to KILL ME" and "WELL YOU DESERVED THAT FOR BEING A DICK".
They've finally found out that you can complain to him or get a little violent and he's not gonna even blink, just hear you out.
It was because Bakugo got a little violent with him and yeah, he just stared back waiting.
You can't imagine Dabi's anger when Tomura told him about Kotaro. He was frustrated because at least Tomura did step on Endeavor and humiliated him for life, but him? He is angry with a man that's dead and gone.
Okay no, the whole League is angry about the things that has happened to the whole League. That's the thing with finally being able to relax and feel. It all comes back in a flood.
They have prohibited being around school when the parents visit. Specially because they are no very civil to shitty parents.
And if a kid confess about having shitty parents, oh boy. The League is gonna BE PISSED.
The UA is still a total chaos, but now in the right ways. They have more normal problems, they don't have to win war and kill evil lords, they complain about not having money to go out and forgetting their homework. And the ex-villians can complain about life being boring a needing more action.
That's a good thing. That means they all are healing, together.
They're gonna be fine.

going through rough years after losing your husband, you try to raise your daughter the best you can. With the help from the wilson's you make the best of it but the road is bumpy when sam introduces you to his friend.

Tumblr media
He shouldn't be here. He promised himself to never wake up in this bed again, ever and yet he finds himself sitting on the edge of the memory foam mattress, soft lilac blankets underneath his naked thighs. The smell of the room is familiar but it's not you, not Rosie, not JJ, not home.
He should've stayed home, told you he didn't need a boys night out because he deserved just that– for taking care of the kids while you were a mess, not available and not there when he needed you the most. Yes, he deserved that but maybe the pub his friends had dragged him too was not the right place to be.
She worked there. She who he had ended things with weeks before meeting you. She with a head of brown curls bouncing around her face, bright green eyes through thick lashes and the cute little dimples in her cheeks whenever she smiled so bright, nose covered in freckles on a sun-kissed canvas and god, if only her personality matched her looks, he would have fought for this one the way he's fighting for you and his family.
God, he was in love back then, one of the firsts he saw a future with. Like a bunch of teenagers, making the eyes of his friends roll with the lovey-dovey behavior– looking back at it made Bucky cringe. The first six months were amazing before her attitude took a 180 and changed for the worse. Possessive, jealous, lowkey crazy.
He wished to never bump into his ex Melissa ever again.
But he did and with the beers coming, alcohol running through his veins and the lack of real intimacy made his mind foggy. The hugs, the cuddles and stolen kisses were not cutting it anymore, he missed you in all other ways and Melissa was there to fix it, like an angel with a halo above her head and rays of light casting from behind her – guiding him straight to what he desired most.
He shouldn't have been here. Your relationship was taking the right turn, amazing, a do over, like the beginning. The acceptance letter to that nursing school you applied for and your weekly visits with your therapist did wonders for you. Giving bucky back the girl he so deeply fell in love with and he put it all on the line for some sex. Sex he would've gotten if he just had asked you and even then he didn't have a reason to complain. His 7 months old son asking all your attention and a jealous rosie hanging around your leg nearly every hour of the day– you had the right to fall asleep as soon as your head hit a pillow.
"You know what they say; once a cheater, always a cheater."
Bucky clenches his jaw and bites the inside of his cheek, nails digging half moons in the skin of his palms as his hands turn into fists– god, all the reason why he dumper her coming back up.
"I never cheated on you." He hisses through gritted teeth, back still turned to her.
Melissa snorts "pretty sure you left me for that baby mama of yours."
"We were long done before that," bucky spats back "for reasons. You being a pain in the ass being one of them."
"That's not what you said last night."
God, he didn't even call you or send a text. A shit excuse of staying with a friend for the night, too drunk to get home while he knew damn well he wasn't going home with them.
"I can ask her you know- ask her why she doesn't want to have sex with you anymore."
Bucky nearly gives himself a whiplash with the force he turns his head around to meet with the green eyes of the half naked woman on the other side of the bed with a smug smile on her face. Playing with her phone in her hand.
"Don't you fucking dare."
"She has a right to know bucky." Melissa smiles wickedly "she has the right to know you slept with your ex."
"I'll tell her myself." Bucky hisses again "I don't need you for that."
"y/n, right?" Melissa quips, phone stills in her hand as she unlocks it with a swipe of her finger "I think I've seen her Instagram before– gotta say Barnes, the boy looks like you."
"Melissa, I'm begging you." Bucky sighs "please, I'll tell her myself."
I'll tell her myself– only if he believed that lie himself.
Tumblr media
A date night, some one on one, some time alone is all what was needed to fill the missing gaps in your relationship. Both kids off to spend the night with bucky his family; just you and him.
Dinner at your favorite sushi bar before strolling through the city hand in hand, catching a movie the both of you were dying to see followed by a round of beer at the first bar you stumbled upon and right back home– a trail of clothes leading from the kitchen, too desperate. Hands on each other and whispered sweet little nothings. Skin to skin. Raw. Real. Perfect.
But his mind couldn't help and wander to last week; tangled up in his ex her arms under thin sheets in a familiar bed. Mind wandering back to that night, not because he couldn't get Melissa out if his head but the regret– he'd done the same thing tonight but with the real love of his life, the mother of his kid, his future wife but it eats him alive; you can do better than the lying man he is. He needs to tell the truth, it's the least you deserve but he can't. He can't lose what he has now, a future.
He wants that white picket fence outside of the city with a big garden for your babies to grow up in. He wants another mini him or mini you running around, maybe even two if life is that kind. He wants to be by your side through thick and thin, in sickness and health, the bad and the good. He wants to see you stroll down the aisle in that perfect dress. He wants to be a good father figure for rosie, the perfect father and perfect husband– he's put it all on the line for some bad sex with a woman he despised so much.
He can't but he needs to tell the truth. No lies.
The smell of sex is still stuck in the air and the rays of moonlight cast through the crack between the curtains, the sound of the city a background noise– his arm is asleep from where your head rests but bucky runs his hand through your hair and presses a kiss to the crown of your hair, taking in the warm fruity smell of your shampoo. Your naked body cuddles up to his, soft legs entangled with his and a soft and warm hand laying on his chest right near his heart.
you're asleep, have been for a while but he can't; his eyes on the ceiling, following the small cracks in the paint and the cobweb he missed earlier this week.
Bucky once again finds himself preparing himself a.nd his stupid apology 'a drunken mistake' and 'it won't happen again' followed by a pathetic 'forgive me?'
He hopes you're getting angry at him, call him names, cursing him, wishing you never met him, a big mistake– bucky simply cannot bear the thought of you crying over him, he doesn't deserve your tears, doesn't deserve you. But above all, he wishes things will turn out okay in the end; see you happy even if it means without him. You deserve that.
God, he needs to tell the truth. You'll find out one way or the other, if not from him it'll be Melissa herself.
'Hey doll, we need to talk.'

“ Where was the last place you saw your sister?” Gauche asked as he, Grey, Yami, and Aloys stood outside of the Castle. They had all agreed to help him look for his sister and, of course, it had to be now that he wanted to look for her. The dark haired boy frowned in thought as he tried to remember.
“ Back home. Right as we entered the Time Gate, she was right next to me, but when I woke up she was gone.” He muttered the last part softly as he looked away. Grey walked over and placed a gentle hand onto his shoulder and smiled reassuringly.
“ It’s ok, we’ll find her I promise!” She told the boy confidently, Gauche tilted his head slightly, Grey was much more confident and comfortable around Aloy’s then anyone else. Maybe because he was a little timid like her? Or was it because he was her, no, their son?
“ Ok, that gives us almost nothing to go on.” Gauche said with a sigh and the boy glared icily at him.
“ ‘Almost nothing’ is better than completely nothing, y'know.” He grumbled, Yami quickly cut between the two before Gauche could retort.
“ Look, if you two are gonna squabble and bicker I’m going to send you both home. Together. Where you have no option but to speak and spend time together, understand?” Yami threatened, the two nodded but continued to glare at each other. He turned to Aloys.
“ Where did you wake up?” He asked, the boy looked around for a moment.
“ Somewhere deep in the woods. I came through the east side of the Capitol so I’m assuming the East Woods.” He said with a shrug, he wasn’t the best at directions so he easily could have been mistaken, but it was his best guess at the moment.
“ Alright then, let’s start there.” Yami said as he stepped onto his broom. Gauche and Grey did the same and Aloys sat behind Grey on her broom. The four quickly took off into the air and headed towards the East Woods.
“ Captain,” Gauche called as he flew up next to him. “ You know it’s a long shot we’re going to find anything there right? Even if we happen to find the exact spot where the kid woke up.” Gauche pointed out, Yami looked over at him and nodded.
“ I know, but it’s the only lead we’ve got.” Yami countered. Gauche looked away, he knew the Captain was right, even though he didn’t want to admit it. He fell back a few feet and flew a little behind him. Yami shook his head and let a small sigh escape his lips.
So much for getting back home early.
——-
Charlotte looked around the house with a confused frown; where was everyone? She seemed to be the only Captain to have arrived so far, and the kids were nowhere to be seen. She looked down the halls before placing a hand on her hip, where could they be? She looked up as she saw a flash of pink outside the kitchen window. She tilted her head before walking out the side door and heading to what one would consider a backyard. She quickly dodged as a spell went flying past her head.
“ Be careful Josslyn you could’ve gotten someone killed if you don’t learn to watch where you’re aiming!” Hikari shouted, Charlotte frowned as she approached the two girls, were they training?
“ Geez, tone it down Hikari, it’s not like anyone got hurt. Oh hi Captain Suke-, I mean, Captain Roselei.” Josslyn said as she suddenly noticed the blonde Captain approaching them, Hikari turned around and smiled at her ‘mother’.
“ Josslyn, Hikari,” Charlotte nodded at the two before standing in front of them with her arms crossed.” What are you two doing?”
“ Training.” They answered in unison, both girls looked at each other before laughing a bit, they did have the tendency to answer at the same time. Charlotte smiled softly before nodding.
“ I saw, you’re both pretty good. But,” she turned to Josslyn. “ Hikari’s right, you have to make sure your spells are perfectly aimed and well timef, otherwise an innocent might get caught in the crossfire.” Charlotte lightly reprimanded the pink haired girl, who looked away and muttered under her breath before walking away.
“ I’m gonna train on my own for a while.” She threw over her shoulder to the mother and daughter, Hikari went to open her mouth but Josslyn cut her off. “ I’ll be right over there so you can see me, I promise I won’t run off.” She added, Hikari closed her mouth and nodded before turning to Charlotte.
“ Where are the boys?” The blonde asked, Hikari looked around for a moment before her eyes landed on them.
“ They’re over there, by the looks of it Alistar is teaching Ace about what kind of plant that is.” She chuckled and Charlotte laughed a bit as well.
“ He really loves plants doesn’t he?” She asked, she had only known him for less then a day but considering he told her about what all plants the spices in the kitchen had come from and their origins, that was the little information she was able to gather from the white haired boy. Hikari nodded.
“ He does, it’s one of his many quirks. But he doesn’t go on and on about plants all the time, only when he sees one that he feels like telling you a bit about.” She chuckled again, Charlotte tilted her head a bit.
“ He seems like a very nice young man.” She tried to sound casual, but she was digging for information on the two, but only just a little. She quickly shook her head, ‘What are you doing Charlotte?! Their love life isn’t any of your business! You’re starting to sound like one of your girls!’ She scolded herself but she saw the dark haired girl nod in agreement.
“ He is. He’s probably one of the nicest people you’ll ever meet, but there’s a little more to him than just that. He’s smart, brave, kind of quiet, and despite all the challenges life has dealt him, he always tries to smile.” She told Charlotte fondly before shrugging a bit. “ He has the second biggest fanclub in the Golden Dawn, right behind his dad, and I tried to get him to go out on a date with a couple of girls from his fan club. But he wouldn’t do it.” She added with a small sigh and shake of her head, Charlotte looked from Hikari to Alistar curiously.
“ Is there someone who has his heart already?” Hikari frowned in thought for a moment before shaking her head.
“ I don’t think so, I’m his best friend, so I would think he would tell me if there’s someone he likes already.” Hikari said, he would tell her right? I mean, after all they’ve been through and all the things they knew about each other, he was bound to tell her if he had a crush on someone? Right? Hikari shook her head quickly before changing the subject.
“ Why aren’t you and my dad together already?” She watched her ‘mother’s’ face turn a bright shade of read and she began to stammer nervously, apparently she wasn’t expecting the question.
“ B-Because,” Charlotte looked away. “ Because I’m not strong enough yet, Yami deserve’s to have a strong capable woman by his side. One that can protect him just like he protects everyone, one that can stand on her own and be his equal in every way. I’m not there yet I’m afraid. But,” she smiled softly before looking at her ‘daughter’. “ I think I’ll get there eventually, it’s just going to take some time and, as Yami put’s it, I’ll need to surpass my limits.”
Hikari smiled, she was proof her mother was right that she would eventually get there. But there was also worry in her smile. She was worried about how her, and her friends, appearance here would affect the timeline. Would her parents still get together like how they did originally? Or would she somehow influence it? She didn’t know, and that made her nervous.
———
Gauche couldn’t help but wonder why him, why did he have to get stuck with Aloys?! The boy seemed to be closer to Grey so why didn’t the Captain send him with her? He couldn’t help but glare as the Captain divided the four of them up when they had arrived at the East Woods, if he didn’t put Grey and Aloys together because they had the same magic type then why didn’t he send Grey to go looking for the girl with Gauche? There was only one logical answer:
He was being punished for earlier, he had to be.
But now that the two were alone he could actually look at the boy. He seemed to be 16, his hair was a dark brown-ish blue shade, he had a similar body type to Gauche but shorter, if Aloy’s was anything like him he’d probably hit his growth spurt soon, he also seemed to be much more quiet now then he was earlier. From what he had seen back at the Castle, Aloys seemed to be nearly identical to Gauche, but now that he had settled down, he seemed to be more like Grey.
“ Stop staring at me old man, you’re making me nervous.” Aloys muttered as he glanced at his ‘father’, Gauche rolled his eyes and looked away.
“ Stop calling me an old man! I’m only 4 years older than you!” Gauche argued, Aloys smirked.
“ Still older.” Gauche growled.
“ The Captain should’ve sent you with Grey, she’s better at dealing with you.” He told Aloys, who nodded.
“ I wish he would have too, that way I wouldn’t have to deal with you old man.” Gauche quickly whipped around to glare at his ‘son’.
“ Momma’s boy!” Aloys turned to look at his ‘dad’.
“ Sister lover!”
“ What did you just-?” Gauche growled dangerously low when Aloys suddenly gasped and took off running past him. “ Hey kid, wait!” He quickly followed after him.
“ This was it!” Aloys shouted as he stood in a small circle of trees, he looked around wildly. “ This is where I woke up! Maelie! Maelie are you here?” He shouted as he walked into the center of the circle. Gauche pulled out the communication device and quickly gave Yami their coordinates.
———
“ You’re sure this was it?” Yami asked as he looked around, they were almost dead center in the East Woods, why had he been dropped here of all places? Hell, how did the kid not get lost in these woods? He watched as the umber haired boy continued to look around the area.
“ Yeah I’m sure, because I thought it was strange that all these trees were in a circle. It’s kind of ominous.” Aloys said with a shrug, suddenly a flock of birds came flying out one of the tree’s and Grey let out a shriek before hiding behind Gauche, who sighed and shook his head.
“ It’s just bird's Grey, and will you please stop clinging to my shirt?” He asked, honestly he didn’t actually mind her clinging to him, but he wasn’t about to let anyone know that. Grey only seemed to cling tighter to his shirt.
“ I-I’m sorry Gauche, b-but this place is just so t-terrifying!” Grey stammered, her eyes shut tightly and her face as red as a tomato. She wanted to go home. This place was much too scary and she didn’t like it at all, but she was somewhat comforted by Gauche’s presence. He always seemed to make her feel safer, even braver at times. Aloys tilted his head slightly as he watched his ‘parents’ but he didn’t comment.
“ It doesn’t look like anyone else was dropped here except you,” Yami said as he crouched down at the ground. “ are you sure you two walked through this ‘time gate’ together?” Aloys snorted.
“ Of course I am, I was holding her hand the entire time.” He explained, the other three frowned, if he was holding her hand, then how did they get seperated? Yami looked at the sky for a moment; it was beginning to get dark, they either had to find the girl quickly or call it a day.
“ It’s getting dark,” Gauche said as he also looked at the sky. “ we’ll have to call it a day for now and search again tomorrow.” Aloys began to quickly shake his head at his ‘father’s’ words.
“ No, No way! We have to find her! She’s only 9 years old, in a new and unfamiliar place! She could be hungry and scared or someone could grab her and take off with her!” Aloys shouted.
“ Yeah, she could be all those things. But she could also be anywhere in this city, or even anywhere in this country! How are you going to be able to find and look for your sister if you can’t see where you’re going because it’s too dark?!” Gauche shouted back, Aloys clenched his teeth and looked away; he knew Gauche was right, they wouldn’t be able to see much of anything in the dark, but she was his little sister, he had to find her. He promised.
“ W-What if it was Marie?” Grey asked softly as she opened her eyes and looked up at the brown haired man, he turned a small shade of pink and looked away. “ If it were her that were missing, wouldn’t you keep searching all the way until morning and beyond if you had to?” She heard him make a small noise in the back of his throat, he knew she was right, if Marie were missing there would be no stopping him until he found her.
Gauche looked at Aloys and saw a familiar, determined look. One he had on his face many times, especially when it came to something, or someone, important to him. He sighed and scratched the back of his head.
“ Fine, we’ll keep looking for the girl. But if we don’t find her by morning then we’ll stop and regroup. Got it?” He asked Aloys, who smiled and nodded in agreement. Gauche looked at Yami. “ Captain, if you need to, you can head back. We can handle this.”
Yami stared at Gauche and Grey for a moment before a smirk made its way across his face. He walked past them and towards where his broom was leaning on a tree.
“ Alright, if you need me you still have the communication device I gave you. So use it if you’re in trouble.” Yami instructed before he stepped onto his broom and lifted himself into the air and flew off into the direction of the shared house.
Though, he had a feeling they wouldn’t need to call for help.
———
Yami landed outside the house with a soft ‘thud’, it was already dark out, a small piece of him hoped that they found the girl and were on their way back. But considering she could be anywhere made him doubt they would be able to find her in one day. He opened the door and, just like this morning, everyone was seated around the dining table getting ready to eat.
“ Oh, welcome back Captain Sukehiro!” Alistar greeted warmly and with a cheerful smile, Yami nodded at the white haired boy before walking towards the other. Hikari turned to face her ‘father’ and she also smiled, Yami blinked a bit, he almost forgot her smile was the exact same as Charlotte’s. He gave her a small smile before he sat next to her.
“ Rough day?” Hikari asked before putting a piece of food into her mouth, Yami looked around the table and noticed everyone was either eating or had just finished and were cleaning up the kitchen. He shrugged.
“ Not too bad I guess. I had to inform everyone about being on the lookout for other kids, and lo and behold, I was called to Julius’s office again for another kid.” He muttered as he poured himself a small glass of wine and took a sip.
“ Zora already told us that,” Charlotte said as she walked in from the kitchen. “ Who was it this time?”
“ Grey and Gauche, their son Aloys attacked the Magic Knights guarding the Castle and of course Julius had to step in. He’s a chip off the old block when he’s pissed.” Yami said with a small smirk, it was amusing that when the boy was angry he acted just like Gauche, but otherwise he was more like Grey. He silently wondered if their daughter was the same way, or if she was the opposite? Hikari quickly put down her fork and looked at him.
“ Aloys is here? Is Maelie here too?” She asked as she turned in her seat, Yami let out a small sigh before shaking his head.
“ She’s lost apparently, Gauche, Grey, and Aloys are still out searching for her.” Yami explained before she suddenly got up and headed straight for the door, with Alistar right behind her. “ Where are you going?”
“ To help them look for her! I can’t believe you left them out there to search on their own!” She said angrily, her father was never this way, he never abandoned someone who needed help!
“ Now wait a minute-.” Charlotte started but was cut off.
“ No I won’t! Why did you leave them to look for her on their own, why didn’t you stay and help them?!” She asked Yami, he stood up and looked at her.
“ Because I trust them.” He answered simply. “ I know they’ll find her and they won’t stop until they do, I gave them a communication device in case they needed me. But I don’t think they’ll need to use it.” Hikari glared at him before turning around and grabbed the door knob.
“ Trusting them isn’t a good enough reason.” She muttered before pulling the door open and being greeted with a purple shirt, one she recognized.
“ Gauche?”
As the dark haired girl’s gaze traveled higher she noticed Gauche was carrying a small girl in his arms, one with dark blue-ish brown hair and wearing a blue and white dress.
He was holding Maelie.
“ See? I told you.” Yami smirked, even from a distance he could see Hikari’s cheeks tinted with pink. Alistar chuckled slightly before patting her on the shoulder.
“ It’s ok, everyones wrong sometimes.” He tried to comfort, but in a teasing way since it was very rare for Hikari to be wrong. She quickly muttered something under her breath as she moved to allow the Adlai family inside. Grey closed the door softly behind them before following after Gauche and Aloys.
“ Where can we put her?” He asked the Captain’s, Yami jerked his thumb to the left.
“ There’s a room where the girls are staying, she can sleep in there for now.” He said with a shrug, Josslyn sighed and stood up from the table.
“ C’mon I’ll show you.” The pink haired girl quickly led them down the hall, Aloys turned around to face everyone.
“ We’ll explain later.” He laughed, he seemed to be much more relaxed and at ease now that they had found his little sister. He turned back around and followed the others down the hall.
———
Sorry the ending isn’t the best, I couldn’t think of how to end it 😅. I might have a small scene where they find maelie in the next chapter but i’m not sure yet 😅. Anyway thanks for reading and I hope you all have a good day~!

You lose a very important draft - TGWDLM
i may be writing myself a comfort fic here but i’ll share it anyways
Bill
may or may not be the indirect reason you lost it
he’s just,, not very good with technology alright?
probably will call alice to ask her how he can help
but at this point the draft is gone so he tries to at least console you
gets you away from the laptop/phone/whatever and gets you out on a walk or makes you something warm to drink
he may not really get why that draft was so impportant if that isn’t something work related
but he recognizes that your different values and perspectives don’t matter but the fact that you are clearly in distress
so he’ll do his best to make you feel better
Paul
tries to tell you to calm down and checks if he can do something
may even try contacting Ted even if a bit recultantly
if nothing works he will ask if you need space
very respectful of your boudaries and will respect your wishes
may not be the best choice if you do want him to comfort you though
however he can talk it out with you and look for solutions
Alice
instantly goes to comfort you
may not have the right answer but tries
prefers to be nice over being honest when comforting you
lots of awkward phisical contact
tries to distract you and offers going to the market and picking up your favourite snacks or having a movie night
just really wants you to be better because she knows how it feels
Emma
tries to get you to get your emotions out by verbally trashing whatever was at fault whether it was an app, site or your device
kind of uncomfortable too so she tries to cheer you upand make you smile
sits down with you and offers you solutions
won’t ask but will respect if you choose to be alone for a while
lets you vent until you feel better
Charlotte
very concerned to see you so distressed
offers you phisical comfort but won’t proceed if you don’t want it
makes you tea or hot chocolate
asks what would make you feel better because she doesn’t want to make things worse
very considerate of your feelings but also a bit scared because sam is a jerk who made her think if she wont tip-toe like that she’ll be in trouble
compliments you and hugs you (only if you want to be hugged)
tells you it’s okay to cry if you need to
very lovely and supportive 11/10
Henry
not very understanding, you know how he is
but as soon as he realizes you are upset (you will most likely need to verbalize it) he tries to console you
tells you about the times he had that happen to him and how he delt with it
thats not exactly very helpful but oh well
wil ask you if you want to talk it out or do you want him to leave
listens to you vent and offers advice but not very affectionate phisically unless you initiate it
Melissa
first thing she goes to hug you and ask how are you feeling
then while comforting you tries to come up with some good ways to fix the situation
might ask a friend (most likely Sylvia) for advice if you are okay with that
asks you what would cheer you up and does that thing with you
very sweet and tries real hard to comfort you
Ted
it’s quite simple for him at first - he’s good with tech so he sits down and checks if anything can be done. if not he just tells you that and expects the whole case to be over
but it’s obviously not and he’s obviously not very good with dealing with his own emotions not to even mention yours so he doesnt really know what to do
might suggest sex as a way to get your mind off of this but will surprisingly drop it if you dont want to
if you want to be alone he’ll go, a bit angry at himself that he couldn’t do better because you deserve someone who could cheer you up
if you want him to stay he’ll besically do what you ask for - hug you, listen or something else
not a very good listener but will try and comfort you once he feels more comfortable in the situation himself
later on migh even crack a joke or two

As requested, books / series I read in 2020 in the order I read them, with a few brief thoughts. (This took me a hot second because there are a few and also I moved cities) Should I keep a consistent goodreads? Yes I should but I didn’t think of that at the time, so bone apple teeth & sorry if I offend you abt your faves x
P.S. I can’t figure out how to do a read more on mobile so long post ahead!
A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J Maas - This is one of the most vivid published fantasy books I have ever read... I read it twice in rapid succession. The fandom POPS off. I must say I have issues with certain aspects e.g. fae lore completely ignored à la Twilight, all love interests 500+ years old and technically a different species, etc (I’m not going to deconstruct the entire series here but just know that I could... Nesta deserves better)
Cruel Prince by Holly Black - This fucking slaps, HB clearly has done her research, the lore is near immaculate, and it explores the Fae in such a unique way, tying it to the modern world subtly and seamlessly. My only qualm was that the books felt quite short; truly wish there had been more content.
Throne of Glass by Sarah J Maas (6/7) - So basically I read this in one single, hyperfixated fit which meant I literally locked myself in my room for three days straight and read all six books back to back in a row from morning to the wee hours. Which is not to say it was spectacular; although it was a VERY rich world, sometimes it was too much... this felt like 6 stories in one. Ik she was young when she wrote this but it is my humble opinion that SJM needs a better editor & I personally think Rowan is a grade A asshole / straight up abusive (& personally think the ACOTAR Tamlin plot was born from that?). It’s good but not as good as ACOTAR. Skip-read the last book.
Grishaverse (Shadow and Bone) by Leigh Bardugo (3) - This is essential to read before SOC but was very much simply a YA fantasy book, although the world was cool and the way the love plot played out was, imo, a subtle middle finger to the fantasy trope. Felt very much aimed at younger readers though? Really liked the sandwhich structure of the Proluge and Epilogue, especially in #2
Six of Crows series by Leigh Bardugo (2) - INCREDIBLE continuation of Grishaverse, better than the original series by a mile. It has the range, the diversity, the representation (the male lead is a disabled asexual and still the most cunning of the entire cast of characters), the plot is phenomenal, and it manages such a well rounded plot in only two books which means nothing is stretched out or squeezed in more than need be. Deserves all the praise it gets.
King of Scars series by Leigh Bardugo (0.5/1) - Personally I don’t consider this book canon, and while it’s nice to see the rest of Nina’s journey & the world again & everyone else, I don't like it. I will, however, be reading book 2 when it comes out, so shame on me, I suppose.
Ninth House by Leigh Bardugo (1/1) - this was incredibly cool although it went off in a completely different direction than I thought it would based off the first few chapters? One of my favourite YA-author-debuts-New-Adult novels in 2020 though!
Crescent City by Sarah J Maas (1/1) - This was supposed to be SJM/s New Adult debut, although personally I would put her other series in New Adult, and I can’t say a remarkable amount was different with this except they said “fuck” and “ass” a lot. WHY is the romantic interest 500 years old AGAIN. I just... don’t... I just don’t think it was necessary... the world was cool though, and the last half of the book was riveting, but the beginning was quite slow and I thought the sword thing was predictable. I am interested to see where this goes though.
A Darker Shade of Magic by V.E. Schwab (3) - This world is so fucking cool... four Londons aka parallel universes & the one in ‘our’ world is set in industrial era London. Magic, girls dressing up as boys, thieves, pirates, royalty... it all just slaps. Schwab is an incredible writer & I was completely immersed.
Midnight Sun by SMeyer - I didn’t think anything could possibly detract even further from the Twilight story but I was sorely mistaken... seeing the stalking from Edward’s POV - and it was worse than depicted in Twilight, for the record - completely obliterated any sort of romance the first half of the original book may have portrayed. I still hold the opinion that the entire series would have been better if some kind of vampire lore had been abided by, if only to see all of the villains thwarted by someone dropping a bag of rice on the ground, forcing them to have to count them all.
An ember in the Ash by Sabaa Tahir  (3/4) - This was just a very stereotypical ya fantasy series, emphasis on the YOUNG... it wasn’t anything to write home about but I remember quite enjoying it at the time.
The Power by Naomi Alderman - This book is FUCKING incredible and EXCEPTIONALLY thought provoking... essentially women alone develop a power of electric shock etc. and then take over the world from men, and it explores feminism and the balance between equality & tipping the scales in the other direction. Written by a friend of M.Atwood in a similar tone to handmaids tale, I would say? Content warning; there are some exceptionally graphic scenes in the latter half of the novel.
Hamlet by Wllm Shksp - I can’t believe it took me this long to finally read it but Ophelia is my favourite name in the entire world & we love to see a woman go batshit (although she didn’t deserve that).
Catherine House by Elisabeth Thomas - this was unsettling in the best sense of the word... it was a little slow & honestly more of a concept than a big reveal, but I couldn’t stop thinking about it after I finished it? A Secret History vibes but make it blurry like the memory of all those dystopian novels you read when you were young?
The Invisible Life of Addie La Rue by V.E. Schwab - This is without a doubt my book of the year, and probably the best book I read in 2020? I stayed up all night on a friend’s couch reading it, got a book hangover and reread the ending, and then thrust it upon my mother who doesn’t usually read but read this, and loved it just as much. HIGHLY recommend and you HAVE to read it, it’s beautiful and endearing and just plain wonderful.
Captive Prince by C.S. Pacat (3/3) - I went into this knowing it was going to be terrible, because I had received a blow by blow telling me as much; although I must say that it did learn a remarkable amount of new words, the books did get better as the series went on, and it did have a rather charming ending? BIG content warning for almost everything.
Sapiens by Yuval Harari - mind-expanding & must recommend for everyone, there is everything in this and I daresay everyone should posses this kind of knowledge? I listened to it as an audiobook (which I recommend because it’s rather hearty) but will be buying this in hardcopy & rereading it with annotations.
Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller - Without a doubt, one of the most beautiful novels I have ever read, and certainly the most beautiful portrayal of the story of Achilles and the battle of Troy I have ever seen. Patroclus deserved the justice that was given to him in this book; indeed, all of the characters were written with justice and grace. Highly recommend.
Trials of Apollo by Rick Riordan (3/5) - Apollo is my favourite Greek God, and the sexiest greek god, and Rick Riordan’s writing slaps, as always. It did pain me to see Apollo, the sexy immortal, have to be forced back into a 16 year old’s body but everything else? Whimsical & wonderful, as expected.
These Violent Delights by Chloe Gong - a retelling of Romeo and Juliette, except it’s set in Shanghai in the 1920′s, and the protagonists already have a history. Very well done, characters are incredibly diverse in race, sexual orientation, gender, and ability / disability (and honestly, representation has never appeared so effortless and elegant). Also it includes a monster and possible magic. Incredibly underrated and highly recommend.
The Once and Future Witches by Alix. E Harrow - this was such a unique concept, and truly captivating, the story was charming, and felt like the kind of beautiful fairytale you would read as children but with more grit? ABSOLUTELY recommend this one
The Pisces by Melissa Broder - I hated this so much, not my vibe at all. Mermaid smut x therapy but make it cynical and judgemental (I know there was a moral in there but that’s not my point) also the dog dies.
Library of the Unwritten by A.J. Hackwith (1/2) - really interesting & unique concept (all unwritten novels / ideas reside in a special library that is part of Hell and then sometimes the books can come to life) however, my first thought upon reading this was “this reads as if it’s stemmed from one of those writing prompt tumblr posts” bc of the tone and whatever and as it turns out I was somewhat correct, it did stem from a short story (not bad just obvious). It did kind of settle down as it went on but I found reading it kind of a drag, and I don’t think I will read the second one.
Abandon by Meg Cabot - 1. Meg Cabot’s writing always fucking slaps 2. Hades and Persephone but make it modern & very 2000′s & somehow kind of unique 3. I literally loved this, sue me
Medusa Girls (Sweet Venom) by Tera Childs - Like Percy Jackson except they are descendants of Medusa so they are Gorgons and have fangs & venom (hence the title). Gave me very 2000′s vibes? Quite cool but tbh I found the books quite short (like two hours each, if that)? Do NOT read the GoodReads description of the book before you read it, you will spoil it for yourself.
Bring me their Hearts by Sara Wolf - In my opinion, this is one of the most underrated YA series I read in 2020. The heroine is endearing, self aware, witty, and loves to look pretty even while kicking ass which in my opinion is an incredibly underrated trait. Also, immortality without being hundreds of years old? VERY sexy. HIGHLY recommend.
A Deal with the Elf King by Elise Kova - High commendation to be given for the fact that it is a standalone and yet manages to fit in the plot of what would usually be a full fantasy trilogy without cutting corners or being a million miles long? Also sweet storyline & beautiful ending? If you liked ACOTAR you should read this as a “what would have / could have been had SJM had a different editor” (No shade I promise).
The Iron Fae by Julie Kagawa (4/4 + novellas) - Incredibly detailed faerie set around the modern world & our current use of technology & iron in it. Very neat adventure-style series, by the time I read the last novella I was well and truly done with the world (aka provided enough content to be fulfilling). Was definitely aimed at a younger audience though, NO smut / smut was brushed over.
The Modern Faerie Tales by Holly Black (3/3 SS) - This is technically the prequel to Cruel prince, set in the modern world, but with the fae world inside it as it traditional? All I have to say is that it is excellent & I highly recommend it.
Bridgerton series (The Duke and I) by Julia Quinn (9/9) - I read this after watching the Netflix show twice through and I am obsessed, although the books were not quite as elegant as the show, and some parts that made me cringe either by their portrayal (it is very firmly set in the 19th century and thus some things are not handled with tact or grace), the characters were exceptionally loveable and I am so excited to see where the show takes them! Lovely language & an abundance of words I had never seen before (always a plus).

Calessa's 10 Fave Female Characters from 10 Fandoms.
eve(Well, they’re actually seven Fandoms, but, Who cares?)
So I've never been tagged in this kind of blogs interaction before, but I found it pretty interesting so, I decided to do it because I wanted to. Thanks to @jatp-headcannon-theories by considering me for the tag, I found it interesting and fun. I really wish we could talk later. Lots of love.  (Sorry if my English is bad, it's not my first language.) 1. Sergeant Amy Santiago interpreted by Melissa Fumero in the American police procedural comedy television series "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" created by Dan Goor and Michael Schur (September 2013).
Tumblr media
I just love her, I feel like Teddy every fucking time I see her. And I feel so proud every fucking time I say that she inspires me to be the best version of me, to not conform and to be proud of who I am.
2. Demon Mazikeen "Smith" interpreted by Lesley-Ann Brandt in the American urban fantasy television series "Lucifer" developed by Tom Kapinos (January 2016).
Tumblr media
We all should learn a thing or two about her.
3. Forensic scientist Ella López interpreted by Aimee Garcia in the American urban fantasy television series "Lucifer" developed by Tom Kapinos (January 2016).
Tumblr media
She’s so cute I want to cry. I love how she doesn’t have to be an archetype to be a strong woman.
4. Musician Julie Molina interpreted by Madison Reyes in the American musical comedy-drama television series "Julie and the Phantoms" created by Dan Cross and David Hoge (September 2020).
Tumblr media
She’s just so talented, I wish I had a character like this when I was younger. I wish I could tell in my younger years “I want to be like Julie when I get older.” Just and Icon fro these and future generations.
5. Knowledge bank Janet interpreted by D'Arcy Carden in the American fantasy comedy television series "The Good Place" created by Michael Schur (September 2016).
Tumblr media
She’s just, uh, perfect. I mean, not because she knows everything, but because even knowing everything that can be know about the universe, she continues improving, she becomes better by allowing herself to feel and be a little more human, even if that doesn’t make much sense.
6. Trauma surgeon Doctor Audrey Lim interpreted by Christina Chang in the American medical drama television series "The Good Doctor" developed by David Shore (September 2017).
Tumblr media
Since the first time I saw her in the show I fell In love with her, I don’t know why I know how, but she’s so powerful without having to be cruel or rude, she’s optimistic and she pursues her goals and achieves her objectives without having to step over someone. She’s just, the woman I aspire to be, I just love her.
Adopt me Dr. Lim!
7. Surgical resident and internal medicine Doctor Morgan Reznick interpreted by Fiona Gubelmann in the American medical drama television series "The Good Doctor" developed by David Shore (September 2017).
Tumblr media
How can I begin to explain how much I love her? It’s just, I don’t know, she doesn’t take anyone's crap because she knows she can do it. Things aren't easy for her and some parts of her personality sometimes scares people away. She might be seen as the rough or emotionless one, but she’s willing to do everything for the people she loves and her patients and it’s not an easy thing. I relate her a lot with the phrase “I want to be brave, but that doesn’t mean I’m fearless. I want to be brave so then, others who can’t be, can rely and count on me.” I just can’t explain to anyone how much I love this woman, I want to marry her.
8. Werecoyote Malia Tate interpreted by Shelley Hennig in the American supernatural teen drama television series "Teen Wolf" developed by Jeff Davis (June 2011).
Tumblr media
Just as Dr. Reznick, she’s such a wonderful character, she has charms and flaws and, even though she spend a good amount of time in the wildlife, she’s human. I was in love with her since the first time I saw her. Her character had so much potential and Davis just “Meh” her and I hate it. She’s my favorite always, without a doubt.
9. Ola Nyman interpreted by Patricia Allison in the British comedy-drama television series "Sex Education" created by Laurie Nunn (January 2019).
Tumblr media
She’s a lot more than Otis love interest Wikipedia!  I think that the think I love the most of her is her kindness, sometimes it’s easier to be evil or blame others for things, and sometimes, kindness it’s taken for granted or its seen as a weakness when its nothing like that. And sometimes, kindness it's just what we need to be better.  How can we improve without love and support?  Ola Nyman is Iconic too and I love her.
10. Aimee Gibbs interpreted by Aimee Lou Wood in the British comedy-drama television series "Sex Education" created by Laurie Nunn (January 2019).
Tumblr media
I just LOVE how she stands for what she wants.  I LOVE how she is not another “Barbie Girl”, I love the depth in her character and how she learns she deserves better and that she is not alone, but most importantly, how she’s not weak in any way. Even though Maeve she is just lovable and real, a person that can improve for her and who discovers what she really wants.
I think that’s all, I don’t have anything more to say.
I'd like to tag @aleksixsixsix because i don't know anyone here, and you look like a nice person, sorry for bothering you btw. Keep informing yourselves, be nice, it costs $0 and as always, lots of love. Sincerely Calessa.
