Thoughts about fictional character's mental health issues below cut.

Judging by the way he reacts to things later on it seems unlikely that Querl didn't deal with some level of suicidal ideation and similar issues growing up. Because he did grow up shunned by and isolated from his entire society and canon would probably argue that it's fine because he doesn't much like people, but that's not really how people work. Coluans aren't shown to be very different from humans in that regard and clearly crave some kind of connection with others, in the Dox family's case often to a unhealthy degree as seen with Kara, Nura, The Durlan and Lyrissa.

The way pre-boot Querl talks about suicide after Kara's death kinda makes it seem like that feeling is familiar to him, rather than something new that he's thinking about for the first time. It sounds like the words of someone who's so used to thinking them that it's almost an automatic response.

He was treated as an object and a tool. His schedule appeared to have been dictated by either robots or people he had no real connection to. He was allowed to learn things and it seems like he was allowed some amount of play, but it seems likely that was either the bare minimum to stimulate semi-normal behaviour and development or limited to educational tools. He was given no affection and what appears to be little opportunity to learn or experience things with no connection to academics. It's possible he didn't even get to go outside.

That probably does not make for a healthy mind, at the end of the day.

It's possible he grew up with those thoughts at the back of his mind. That he didn't want to continue living a life like that, repetitive and dull and perhaps filled with inputs but never truly letting him experience anything. Maybe he tried to go through with it, or maybe he didn't because he knew his guardians would prevent it.

I don't think he'd self-harm, for the same reason and also because it seems more likely that he'd disassociate and/or cause outward harm. He was clearly permitted to cause damage to things and is an abrasive, at times borderline verbally abusive, person.

Those feelings probably started to subside a little as he joined the Legion. More so when he actually started to trust them. Not that it'd "heal" him, but a change of environment can do so much for a person.

I think Toriel would totally get one of those projectors that show the stars to Sans. Maybe it came up that he loves astronomy or maybe Frisk or Papyrus let her know in secret, heck! Maybe it's from all of them. I think he wouldn't really know how to take it. Like bro sees it and goes '*oh neat.' and actually he's fucking dying inside.

penelope canonically retreating to her room and refusing food = she puts on some weight, the reason being both lack of physical activity as well as her body being on constant emergency mode (so what little she does eat ends up being stored away bc the body doesnt know when the 'starvation' will end). whats more her constant stress elevates cortisol levels which in and of itself leads to weight gain esp in the abdominal area.

If you ask Mush, winter is one of the best times of the year, but it seems he's one of the only people in the lodgings that feels that way. What starts as a way to take Blink's mind off of the now cold, dark months ends up being a bigger scheme than even he was imagining, and he's more than happy to take the opportunity to plan a celebration that'll have everyone raring with holiday spirit. I randomly felt like watching this edit again and ohh ... the feelings😭😭 This video basically carried me through my last semester and final exams at high school, I literally watched it multiple times every day (I swear a couple hundred views are from me alone), on the bus ride to school in the morning, when I got home again, before going to bed, just in between because I felt like it ... Internally I wasn't doing that well at the time, and it just brought me so much comfort. Also I'm pretty sure it plays a significant role in how I fell more and more in love with 2nd Dimension Heinz💕 This edit just means so much to me and I love it so much <3
