penelope canonically retreating to her room and refusing food = she puts on some weight, the reason being both lack of physical activity as well as her body being on constant emergency mode (so what little she does eat ends up being stored away bc the body doesnt know when the 'starvation' will end). whats more her constant stress elevates cortisol levels which in and of itself leads to weight gain esp in the abdominal area.

Tbh I think that the “Will wouldn’t be a doctor because he would get tired of seeing pain” argument kinda stems from a misconception of what a doctor does.

To start off, I think we gotta clarify that not ALL types of doctors are exposed to death and pain the way y’all think they are. In fact, many of them aren’t. Probably most.

Second of all, a doctors job isn’t to just send out death sentences. On the contrary, healing is absolutely something that celebrates life! Not everything in a doctor’s job has to do with death and pain, and though many times a condition could arrive to a drammatic point, that’s not all there is!

And talking about Will specifically, call me crazy but I truly don’t see how anyone could see him as anything other than a doctor in canon. Healing is part of him, part of his identity. Without healing and without his dream of being a doctor he is NOT WILL!!! its just such an intrinsic part of his character, and, to me at least, it cannot be taken away.

I also saw some people trying to argue that he “wouldn’t want to relive the trauma of his brothers dying” which? I’m just kinda confused about because it has essentially nothing to do w medicine😭

Will has always dreamed of helping people (one could argue that he dreams of helping people a bit TOO much, basing his entire worth around it) and tho I can kinda see people saying he would get a bit tired (as in like. physically. From him working too much) there are many specializations in medicine, not to mention many ways a doctor can do their job!

Okay, yeah, I'm freaking proud of this.

You wanna know the main reason why?

I made this whole thing without a base, or a stylus, or my fingertips, or a touchscreen.

I made it with this illegitimate son of an ass licker:

An accomplishment, if I say so myself.

The art is based on two things.

Firstly, a suspiciously well-aimed prompt my friend gave me; one of my favourite characters, with the prompt, 'Hiding Behind a Smile'.

Secondly, a fanfic I wrote, which can be found on Quotev, called 'Count My Broken Stars (USM Nova Headcanon)'.

I personally prefer the Nova from the comics, but I based the fanfic off of the show. Whatever.

Major TW if you choose to read it, however. It contains a lot of swearing, themes of suicide, extensive self-harm, blood, severe trauma, and possibly other nasty dark crap that I'm not remembering at the moment. It's also incomplete, and updates are slow going.

Anyway, yeah. I might add the link to the fic, if anybody wants me too.

I hope I did her justice<3 I did take some liberties with the uniform after spending an inordinate amount of time this afternoon pondering what a chef on one of the venators might wear, ultimately settling on the red fatigue pants that we see them in on Kamino (as opposed to risking nasty spills on the grey dress pants we see other ship-board clones wearing, you see), and the blacks top for thermo-regulation and to keep sleevies tight to the skin and out of the food. I gave her hot pink carabiners for a fun little extra pop of color, and her mitts and rag are of course inspired by 212th gold (I like to think they were a present, perhaps by a certain Jedi in honor of her promotion?).

I had a lot of fun and I hope you like my rendition<3
