this started as me just wanting to do a side-by-side of her two holiday outfits and it quickly spiraled from there lol

someone’s ask is forever lost in the void but i’ll answer anyway,

i do have more ideas from my recent-post regarding Goddess!Poppy, here’s what i came up with!

i wanted to take this concept in the direction similar to one of my favourite Studio Ghibli films Ponyo, where Poppy gives up her status and role as a goddess to become mortal. after meeting Branch for the first time on a whim, they both became absolutely infatuated with eachother ..

but they’re both the biggest morons ever. plot twist!

Omg yeah! Poppy obsessing over every detail in a party vs Branch obsessing over every detail when creating defenses was something I caught and I honestly love it! A couple that obsesses together, stays together!

I had an idea for a fic where Poppy is excited for Branch to take part in his first party but he spends the evening helping her instead of mingling or dancing and when she's disappointed in herself for not making Branch have fun he tells her it was the most fun he had at a party and any time spent with her is always a good time💖

something I like about 'broppy' in the shows is how they're really more alike than what I've seen people give them credit for. They're both really competitive (especially towards each other), always willing to egg the other on, and are never afraid to tell the other their opinion on something that's more often than not, NOT listened to, lol. Both are stubborn as hell in that regard, and they really just wanna one up the other in any way shape of form.

Branch is very very obsessive w keeping his bunker in check, poppy is the same w party planning. They take more than what they can handle sometimes bc branch feels pressured to by the people around him (to fit in) and it's kinda the same w poppy but it leans more towards her own high expectations of herself and how she has to do good for the people relying on her. They'd both rather eat their own foot than admit they have problems sometimes and would endlessly chastise the other for doing so, or simply just go 'i told you so' when the other guy finally relents.

and at the end of the day if you told this to their faces they'd deny they were anything alike at all lmao

I feel like I have some of the most random headcanons. but I am lowkey obsessed with the fact that John Dory is so much older than Branch that he potentially could have dated their friends'/peers' parents, and/or anything else funny and possibly entertaining that the large age difference entails lmaokskssbcdsbcjdh

the theme was 'relationships' and i wanted to try and include as many details between these characters as i could :

Branch, as the man that everyone can rally behind.

Poppy as the first one to notice Branch's struggle and offer him help.

Likewise, the first person Poppy thinks to call on is her sister :3

Then it's Viva calling out to her long time co-runner Clay, and Bruce jumping in for him too.

Clay's addition also introduces a 🎉new strategy🎉! The characters start alternating sides for pulling the rope.

And Floyd joining in changes the strategy again, to something a bit more... mischievous, shall we say.

One crucial aspect is that Floyd runs his idea by Branch (the man in charge) before going for it.

Hickory, for his part, doesn't pull his punches for the group. There's no ~tricking~ them by faking an early loss, it's all gotta be genuine.

And of course, Hickory's undoing is his tender heart.

In the back, Dickory and John banter over which side they want to win.

Just the fact that John is letting go of the reins here, allowing the group to lead themselves, is very Big for him.

Dickory's suspicion of what Floyd has planned (warranted).

John's sitting out because he's got a cast on his arm, but it's been "signed" by various stickers from the group (yellow star from viva, pink heart from poppy, green lightning bolt from clay, etc etc etc). and of course

flickory (cause my city now)

in conclusion can u tell i love the interplay of this cast a lot
