how did goddess!poppy meet Branch? was it before or after he regained his colors?

this ask really stumped me because, honestly, i haven’t thought that far ahead. after some thinking, i may have an idea;

the only reasonable way i can think of them meeting is through a dream. this may not make any sense, but i can imagine that one night Branch found himself in a vivid, increasingly real, dream where he was suddenly looking at a tall, glowing, unfamiliar troll right in front of him. one thing about dreams is that you can’t dream of unknown faces,

another thing about dreams is that flowers don’t suddenly appear in-front of you after waking up in shock.

in this au, i don’t think that he would’ve ever lost his colours. only because i think it’d be hilarious if he talked to his brothers about this “beautiful, goddess-like, troll that he didn’t know” and they had no clue what he was talking about.

i do have more ideas from my recent-post regarding Goddess!Poppy, here’s what i came up with!

i wanted to take this concept in the direction similar to one of my favourite Studio Ghibli films Ponyo, where Poppy gives up her status and role as a goddess to become mortal. after meeting Branch for the first time on a whim, they both became absolutely infatuated with eachother ..

but they’re both the biggest morons ever. plot twist!

I love to think “Great Decisions” JD loved the idea of being a hero, like the ones from his Dad’s stories about the Neverglade Trail. And in his eyes, his Dad was a hero, going out and saving/protecting people from the Bergens. He’d often play superheroes with Spruce, Clay, and Floyd.

Until of course he learned… There’s no such thing as heroes.

But omg look at him, so young and happy… Where did the years go?
