"Violence only leads to more violence" TRUE! The thing is tho, a lot of people in power seem to think the start of the violence was the CEO getting shot, but they're wrong. The start of the violence was that very CEO running a company that turns immense, endless human suffering into money.
Violence did lead to more violence, decades of needless death and suffering willfully enacted by millionaires so they can make just a little bit more money, that was the start of the violence. If they didn't want it to escalate eventually, they should have maybe not made killing people the core functionality their entire company hinges on.
The people being tortured and killed by the health insurance industry are not the ones who started the violence, and tbh I don't really think it's on them to end the violence, either.

ᴍᴀᴋᴇ ᴍᴇ ᴄʜᴏᴏꜱᴇ ↳ anonymous asked: HUSK and ALASTOR or angel and valentino?
#hazbin hotel#husk#hazbin husk#alastor#hazbin alastor#hazbin hotel edit#hazbin edit#radio demon#requested#make me choose#my gifs#dad beat dad#flashing gif#flickering gif#the full ask said ''in whichever way you define'' at the end so#i chose based off of which dynamic i'm more intrigued by. valentino as a villain and as a challenge to angel is REALLY interesting dont get#me wrong here. it's great. but THESE two have a lot of untapped potential for husk specifically#alastor is just there at the moment but HUSK. husk. it really is a mirror to angel's situation - everything wrong in his afterlife is#because of that gamble. but he WAS an overlord. HE was the one doing that horrible shit before. that's INTERESTING!!#he gathered and gambled away souls like money. it was all just a game to him. now HE'S getting his. a sick poetic justice in a way.#i am SO excited to see if they dive into this more!! will he ever self reflect? if he does will we SEE him doing this reflection? will it#be enough to play a part in him choosing to redeem himself? or even decide if redemption is worth the effort? i feel like there's potential#with his dynamic with alastor to influence that big time + his friendship with angel will also be a major factor#also making this set made me realize the hallway scene is like their one major interaction. jfc and it's fucking HORRIFYING lmao#look i loved their pilot interaction/dynamic as much as the next person but this is just. SO much better. more things to explore.#i'm really glad in the end that they were rewritten in this way. A+

The fact that the Doof had been paired and proved most compatible with Perry, canonically and repeatedly proclaimed to be one of OWCA's best agents in the field, is curious to me.
Some fics have a throwaway line or two talking referring to his compatibility with other agents. I think, also, about the canonical fact that he remains as third most dangerous evil scientist in OWCA's ledger.
I also like thinking about the fact that we have been proven, multiple times, in VARIOUS dimensions and fluctuations to the time space continuem, that were he not continuously thwarted throughout his career, he would not only have achieved tyrannical rule, he would have EXCELLED in it, and perfectly undefeated, EVEN BY HIS EVIL PEERS that people loved to pretend were always more competent than him.
Like. I think about that. Why? What makes Heinz so dangerous? What made everyone else incompatible to a point OWCA realized they needed to send their best, and he needed to be on call ALL THE TIME?
Curious

Tbh I feel like going to the US while the Nazis are in power is suicidal. So of course I don't understand your choice of going instead of your SO coming to Europe. But while I don't understand, I wish and pray for you to be safe. Whatever you choose, I hope you guys will be okay
You might be right. I have no idea what the future has in store or if I'll come to regret it. But I've already stated my reasons. As it stands, with the year-long process we've already started and that we can't just flip on a dime overnight, my partner can't come and stay in Europe legally just like that. Legal immigration is not that easy in one way or the other. Also... Yeah, I've stated that before, but one shouldn't underestimate how shitty things have been getting in Europe for the past few years as well, and how the influence of the US (which is huge) is likely to make things worse. So again I'm not 100% sure whether that'd have been better anyway.
Also also... Ima be real, I've shared that before, but the time where I was separated from my partner due to the travel ban was the only time in my life where I had actual suicidal ideation. I don't want this to happen again. That's why I'm making moves so it doesn't, first and foremost.
#tw sui ideation#tw sui talk#again i can't just pick and choose it's actually a really tough process and not just something i can go willy nilly about#it's a bit of a headache having people telling me otherwise#i'll do what i can and we'll keep doing our best to stay safe but it's not like i can just switch roads overnight#i wish i could but it's never as simple#or maybe it is for people who are already us citizens i have no idea#but i'm not quite sure#either way tbh i'm not sure moving to europe as so many people are throwing in online rn is that great a solution either#europe is the us's playground and geopolitically its bitch#some things definitely are better than in the us but in a world where money rules everything i don't feel it's quite as fool proof#as everyone makes it sound#as someone who was born and raised there respectfully#who's felt that influence for life#and btw as someone who also grew up not speaking english and who had to painstakingly learn#don't think you can just move to a random country you can't speak the language of and that everyone will be as nice about it#as if you were a tourist#language is important#my partner doesn't speak my country's language#so yep there's that#i've already said that several times anyway it's getting tiresome#we COULD have tried for the UK in a timeline where those dumbasses didn't choose to leave the EU#but that ship sailed almost 10 years ago#i wonder if anyone realizes that#sorry for saying that after such a wall of text but thank you for the concern though sincerely

My problem with influencer culture is that the mindset you need to succeed as an influencer is fundamentally the opposite of the mindset you need to be a happy and healthy person. If your main professional skill is manipulating algorithms to amass an audience so you can sell them shit I simply do not need your opinion on how I live my life.

I’m feeling in a conscientiously objectionable mood right now, as an author who was brought up on the fanfic community and who is now published on the indie market.
There is enough room for all of us, original and fanwork. I don’t care if I get called a snowflake or if my kindness is seen as some charity participation trophy by cynics who are too proud and pretentious.
Writing is art, and art should be fun. I don’t care if it’s a songfic, I don’t care if it’s an E-rated smutfest, I don’t care if it’s a 500k word slowburn epic, I don’t care if it’s baby’s first fanfic rife with typos but with heart and soul, or a veteran’s memoir.
There is enough room for all of us.
Be kind. Leave comments and kudos and likes. Tell somebody they’re doing a good job. Tell somebody you like their work. Be lenient, be gentle. None of us are pretending to stand up against the literary giants. None of us think we’re perfect.
There are enough critics in the world that will tear art down for the sake of being art and “useless” because it lacks function. There are enough critics in the world who will say “Well, it’s no Charles Dickens, thus it could be better”. There are enough critics who will stand on their chosen virtue against queer characters, disabled characters, female characters, minority characters, no matter how well they’re written or how little what they are matters to who they are. There are critics who won’t even read it, and will instead parrot hearsay that was never true.
There are enough assholes out there. We don’t need to do their jobs for them holding other writers to impossible standards.
One kind review won’t turn someone into an egomaniac. One kind review won’t skyrocket a single book to stardom and the NYT Bestseller list. One kind review won’t boost them to the top of the charts. One kind review isn’t cheating or lying or rigging the system that’s already rigged against us.
But it helps. It gives somebody confidence. It tells them that somebody notices their work. It gives them hope that more will follow. It proves all their doubters wrong. It’s a hand outstretched, when they’ve only ever had people kicking them down. It’s five seconds of your time that might make their whole month.
If you’re going to gatekeep praise for only the best of the best, if you’re going to stack them up against the best of the best when they never presumed to, if you’re going to focus on what it’s missing, instead of what it has, when it never promised otherwise… well, that sounds like quite a lonely endeavor.
What do you stand to lose?

brainstorming for catasterism which essentially is THE todo fic for me where I get to explore all my thoughts on them, and I'm wondering if people are okay actually discussing the likelihood Rei was the cause of the micro aggressions towards hereromorphs now (i.e. Dabi and that one time Shouto got mad)
Even mentioning Dabi might be slightly prejudiced was a huge berserk button for so many villain stans years back even though there was a solid body of evidence but with the Himura reveal, I am fascinated if anyone has been brave enough to actually put it out there that Rei, raised in a sheltered environment where the obsession with pedigree (and caste likely as since the whole Himura thing sounds super anti-Burakumin) would have kept hereromorphs out and small fears would leak out.
Particularly interesting given Natsuo's girlfriend/fiance, too.

Please remember that there are still 47% of Americans suffering under the current administration who did not ask for this, many of those queer, trans, and people and color.
Please remember even many of those who did, did not know what they were asking for.
Please remember most of us are closer to homelessness than being a billionaire.
Please, remember who the real enemy is.

Why Influencers Won’t Make A Lasting Fortune | 💰💰💰
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Let’s be honest—being an influencer looks like the dream. Free stuff, brand deals, followers hyping you up, and money just for posting a cute pic or trendy video. But here’s the thing that nobody talks about enough: influencing isn’t built to last.
Don’t get me wrong—some influencers are making big money right now. But if we’re talking about long-term, generational wealth? I have a strong belief that most of them won’t get there. Here’s why
1. Trends Fade. Fast.
The internet moves at lightning speed. What’s trending this week? Forgotten next week. Whether it’s dance challenges, aesthetics, or audio clips, things go viral and die out just as quick. That’s the whole point in a trend, it’s momentarily.
If your whole income depends on staying relevant and trendy, then you’re basically building your future on shaky ground. The second your content stops hitting, the money slows down too. You’d have to constantly chase trends which sometimes can result in you having to change your aesthetic or niche, which then results in having to bring in a whole new audience.
2. They Don’t Own Anything
Let’s not forget—Instagram, TikTok, YouTube… none of these platforms belong to the influencer. One algorithm switch, one random suspension, and boom—your visibility and income are gone. Just like that.
It’s risky to build your entire career on a platform you don’t own or control. You’re literally playing by someone else’s rules. Remember when TikTok shut down for a day and all the influencers had a meltdown, some of them moved to instagram or blue or X, they had to find a new platform to continue working but think about it, what if there was no other alternative…then what happens?
3. Brand Deals Are Short-Term
Sure, brand deals pay well. But they’re not guaranteed. They come and go based on your numbers, engagement, and how “hot” you are in the moment.
That means your income isn’t steady—it’s based on how many brands want to work with you right now. And let’s be real, brands move on fast when you’re not the current It Girl.
4. It Doesn’t Scale
Influencing ties your income to you. Your time. Your energy. Your appearance. Your ability to keep showing up and performing online.
There’s only so much of you to go around, and there’s only so long you’ll be able (or willing) to keep up the grind. If you stop posting, you stop earning.
5. No Real Assets
Unless an influencer turns their platform into a business—think products, services, investments, or digital assets—they’re not building anything that can survive without them.
Attention fades. And when it does? If there’s nothing solid behind all the hype, there’s nothing left to profit from.
So What’s The Move?
If influencers want to really build wealth, they have to stop treating influence like the end goal. It’s just a springboard. Use the attention to launch something bigger—like a brand, an online business, a product line, a faceless digital asset—something that can outlive the trends.
For example, a few influencers who utilised their fame instead of surviving off it. Look at Huda Kattan: she didn’t rely on clout, she built Huda Beauty, which she fully owns. Emma Chamberlain used her online fame to push Chamberlain Coffee and her podcast, barely even posting anymore unless it’s to market her businesses. Charli D’Amelio branched into TV, she appeared on Dancing With The Stars; Addison Rae moved into acting, music, and film; Jackie Aina started her own luxury candle line.
You’ll notice a lot of viral names start to fade from your feed—but that doesn’t mean they’ve fallen off. It means they took their attention and turned it into something real. They’re building wealth off-screen, and that’s the real flex. Because pretty posts and paid ads are cute for now, but real wealth? That’s about ownership, strategy, and building something that lasts after the spotlight fades.
