okay prediction/wishful thinking for the end of wild cards s2: i think max might go through with this big job she and ricky are planning, and i think she might leave. or at least i really hope this is the direction they're heading. she's been putting off leaving since the s1 finale, because she knew how important finding daniel's killer is to ellis. but she's given him that lead, and her dad only has two weeks left on his sentence.
max has been trying to convince everyone in her life (ricky, her dad, maddy) that she hasn't gone soft. i do think she's self-aware enough to realize that she has gotten attached to ellis, that there's something there. but i think she's also stubborn enough (and maybe a little scared of what it means to be attached enough to want to stay in one place) that she's also going to keep trying to convince herself that she hasn't gone soft. so i think she and ricky are going to pull off this job and i think she's going to pull the trigger this time and leave.
i think with the bit from ellis too, in 2x09, saying he wished he was the guy on the ground tracking down his brother's killer. i think if he somehow gets pulled into actually working on that case again, he has that pulling him in one direction, max is getting pulled in another, and i think we're getting a nice setup for them to go their separate ways for a while.
i think it's going to take them being across the globe from each other to really realize that they are, in fact, better off together. (and really, i would just love to see the angsty mutual pining when they're half a world away from each other and missing each other and not being able to do anything about it.)

I’m kind of interested in the setup of TFP post-war Cybertron
Because up until the finale, it was a dead world, and the only people there now were the people who were there when it got restored in the first place. There’s no one there, everyone has to come back
So like, anyone, Autobot or Decepticon, could come back to help and rebuild Cybertron, and by proxy, have a second chance. The only ones standing in their way would be the TFP cast, and they let Knockout join them. So like unless you’re causing real trouble, you probably won’t get discriminated against for your faction
But also everyone coming there would learn that the war is pretty much over, since Optimus is dead and Megatron renounced the cause (though he could probably also be declared dead as well, since he doesn’t really seem like he wants people looking for him). So again, having to make peace with the other factions
I think the setup could make some interesting post-war stories, rebuilding Cybertron and trying to reunify the race, without Optimus or Megatron around
I know IDW had stories post-war, but I think there the Senate was still around in some way and Cybertron still populated and with certain biases. With the Prime setup, pretty much everything’s a clean slate, with no government or war faction leaders (though there’s still some commanders and such), just the ruins of Cybertron and whoever comes back to rebuild

okay. @evil-eyedlurker lets try this again since tumblr ate my last draft.
Part 1: Setting the Stage.
Before we begin, I'd like to recommend reading the book for yourself. There's a free copy here on archive.org. I'd also like to point to my previous post for some context if anyone reading this post is new here. You may also want to watch Dual Process Theory's take, as I agree with pretty much all of their arguments.
You have the appropriate context for this? Good.
Now then.
Within the logbook, there are three known writers: Red Pen, aka Michael Afton; Faded Text, aka Charlie Emily; and Altered Text, aka CC/Cassidy Afton.
There are also, however, three identifiable names: Mike, Cassidy, and Dave. Popular fanon will tell you that "Cassidy" is Faded, as well as being the Vengeful Spirit and the second Golden Freddy spirit. It will now also tell you that CC's name is Dave, previously mstaken to be Evan.
I am here to tell you that popular fanon is, as popular fanon tends to be, wildly off the mark.
As per my last post, I dismissed Cassidy as a little girl for two reasons: firstly, that she has no narrative significance before whenever the logbook takes place, and secondly, because Faded asks too many specific questions to be a stranger. The logbook came out after Pizzeria Sim, and introducing Cassidy as such an important character this late in the story is nonsensical.
But...my theory leaves out Dave. Who is Dave?
Put a pin in that for now. We'll get there. For now, let's talk about Michael Afton.
Part 2: Why?
In my last theory post, linked above, I asked a question that I found to be forgotten: why? Why does faded ask such specific questions? Why is there so much puppet symbolism? Why would CC know the name Cassidy? Why are there so many tidbits that never get mentioned?
I have some new ones today: Why is Mike here? Why are Charlie and Cassidy in his book? Why is the name Dave important?
For simplicity's sake, we'll start with why Charlie and CC are talking. Based on the imagery of the Puppet and birthdays on pages 31 and 98, as well as "The party was for you" (103), it's most likely to set up the Happiest Day, placing this before...whenever that happens. Before Pizzeria Sim, at least.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Fig. 1: The Puppet/Happiest Day symbolism.)
So...if that's the goal, why is Mike important? Sure, he helps spell Cassidy's name, but only the last couple letters. And of all the available grids, "Dave" is spelt in the Foxy grid. The one animatronic that is associated with Mike.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Fig. 2: Available grids.)
To me, this implies the name Dave is important for Michael to remember. But why?
...Why would Michael need to remember anything? Surely he remembers, right? I mean, he references the Nightmares and casual bongos and exotic butters and the Bite. Surely, surely that means he remembers!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Fig. 3: Michael's references.)
Reread all his answers again, all throughout the book, knowing this takes place after Sister Location, during the time he's hunting down his father. Tell me what's missing. (Or you can trust me to tell you, I suppose.)
Mentions of his family, right?
In fact, he's not even the one to bring up the Bite. The logbook brings it up for him; he just responds to it.
Throughout the book, Mike is unresponsive and noncommittal. His doodles exist in the corners and margins, he rarely responds to either the book or Faded's questions directly, he even crosses out his own name. The only thing he repeatedly emphasizes throughtout the book is SURVIVAL. In all caps, SURVIVAL. CERTAIN DEATH.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Fig. 4: Michael's scribblings as per the previous paragraph.)
Interestingly, he commonly writes about leaving leaving. Such as running away, locking up the animatronics, going on vacation, or dying. This directly contrasts his established desire to find his father, which implies he hasn't gotten that motivation yet.
Michael has been scooped by the time the Logbook happens. Michael, like most spirits, forgot. Forgot less than Cassidy and perhaps the MCI, for whatever reason, but forgot nonetheless.
And Charlie is here to help him remember, the same way she's helping Cassidy remember.
Specifically, she wants him to remember the name Dave, spelled out via the coordinates of the answered questions. The first one of which is answered by Michael, long before Cassidy says "I'm scared" as a potential alternate answer.
Part Three: Fandom Really Needs to Learn to Re-examine Fundamentals.
Take that pin out of "Who's Dave" and "Why is Dave important" from earlier, because it's time to answer those questions.
Okay. So, we've established a few things.
Dave is not one of the spirits in the logbook.
Charlie is pushing for Michael to remember the name Dave.
Michael has lost his memory, and has yet to gain the motive of finding his father.
If all of this is true, "Dave" must be connected to Michael's motivation: finding his father.
But we already know his name! William Afton, as established in...in......uh.........which game was it again? Sorry, hold on, let me just check my sources...*shuffling papers*...oh! Here we go! William Afton's name was established in the novels...and...and for the entirety of The Silver Eyes, he's referred to almost exclusively by his alias, Dave. To my knowledge, his first name is never confirmed in the games.
...What if we've been wrong in accepting that his name is William Afton? What if he is Dave, and it's not just an alias?
Allow me, once more, to set the scene.
Part Four: FNaF is a story. Let's treat it as such.
The date is [REDACTED], just after Michael's scooping. His corpse gets up without him, shambling around with metal for bones and vague remnants of children's souls for a pilot.
Michael himself is stuck in a security logbook; a paltry little thing given to him by his employers, like a twisted joke. He writes and crosses out his own name, and doodles in the margins for a bit.
Charlie, ever the attentive soul, joins him, bringing the Crying Child with her. Two brothers, one memory, or something like that. She begins gauging what he remembers: Does he know who he is? How he died?
Michael doesn't respond. He doesn't need to. It's not hard for Charlie to piece together what happened, especially given his shambling corpse ranting and raving about their revenge.
So, she begins to push Michael to remember his killer. She starts with the nightmares (do you have dreams), the first thing he did. She follows up with his resemblance to his father (what do you see), but Michael goes unresponsive, possibly catching on to her game. Ever the stubborn one, that. Instead, CC responds. So she switches gears, roping CC into helping her spell out both names by directing her questions to him, until Michael finally helps spell Cassidy.
Next to the wordsearch where Cassidy remembers is a mirror; one to reflect EVAD (spelled in CC answer order) into DAVE. Two brothers, one memory, as the saying doesn't go.
Michael's corpse lies cold and empty on the ground, Ennard having escaped into a gutter. He can't move on, not yet. There's only one option left for him now.
Michael looks into the mirror.
And his eyes open purple.
.
also it would be really funny if davetrap had an alias in the games timeline and it was william/will miller THANK YOU AND GOODNIGHT!
#I REMADE THE FUCKING DAVE POST CHEER AND CLAP#me rereading the logbook every paragraph to cite my silly litle sources#if we REALLY wanna get into it. i think 'charlie' is also book only. so she COULD be named cassidy.#but personally i think the dave parallel works better.#charlie voice i can put the first victim to rest AND have the last one take revenge! its perfect! (unfortunately. The Quencies)#i dont actually know how cassidy gotinto the book. for narrative purposes charlie brought him.#theres no real Evidence either way and it makes sense for charlie to keep him with her until she can put him to rest.#fnaf theory#fucking love the mirror parallel i saw that in a reddit post and i LOVE IT#ALSO seeing 'dave' in the mirror works REALLY WELL for michael bc hes literally mistaken for his father in SL if i rember right#i also Could address the idea that this book takes place during/after 3 but the imagery for it is so minimal that the idea is nothing to me#like ooo it mentions springlockkks the things that were around for ages! and it has a similar officeeee oooooooooo#like. for all we know! the fnaf3 office is Modeled After The Book. and also mike DOESNT reference ANYTHING in fnaf3#despite everything implying HES the protagonist of it#plus from a narrative standpoint. this book taking place post-scooping pre-3 makes the most Sense. its setup for everything in 3.#also i think 'do u miss them' (pg 70) refers to mikes siblings. but thats not Relevant its just neat#bc! its where the book asks who youd miss if they were to die in an accident such as being stuffed into a suit#and i LOVE the idea that CC was stuffed into golden fred and is the fifth missing kid its. mwah.#fnaf theories#nyans notebook

I didn't know this, but I just found out that the Philadelphia Zoo has a network of animal walkways to allow their animals to roam around the zoo! They call it "Zoo360" and honestly it looks pretty cool.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
They've also got goats and horses and great apes that all have the ability to Get Around places. I assume that they just loop back to the original enclosure eventually, but what a fun kind of enrichment for animals who travel great distances in the wild regularly! I can't believe other zoos haven't added anything like this to their setups! It looks like it's been up and running around 10 years now, and if so, it seems like it must be pretty safe for everyone involved, and the animals are still using it regularly enough there are lots of videos of them from zoo visits. What a neat concept!

one half of the 'agreed to spritz each other like misbehaving cats for fangirling over music' duo wasn't in today, so at the end of the day, the other went, 'No. I HAVE to.' and played 'Court of the Crimson King' on the nice speaker. gotta say, it's a good song played at a decent (which is to say, NOT wall-shaking) volume, but on a speaker that actually has bass (so not my little desktop setup).
and Ro mentioned that there's a character in her favorite book series called Crimson King, too. she likes The Dark Tower so much, she named her son after one of the characters.

I had a dreamm involving a werewolf epidemic, which to transform at least required a storm and for you to take your hat off. I don’t entirely recall if you had to also be at least partially bald but looking back I don’t think so
This also affected animals, who don’t wear hats, so as you can imagine there was a large outbreak of wild werewolves
The cure that ended up being found was a song that was partially backwards of a song from Zelda (as in like the ocarina songs, and you do the notes in reverse order), but I can’t remember which
Also, it involved a multitude of characters from different series, but I recall Venture Bros characters being there. Rusty was the guy who made it only to be captured by someone else. Dean and someone else fell into the trap laid out by the villain, but Hank was unaware of the whole thing, at least initially. He did end up showing up but on the outside of the trap and the villain hid when they heard someone coming, which was just Hank and Dermott checking out this abandoned site because it was cool or something. And also this is around where Dean went, which was the initial reason for going, but they got distracted. Also 21 was there, and maybe 24. Not sure if he was a ghost or not. I think 21 may have taken on an apprentice, but I don’t remember who

IDK unless there's really good justification for the names being written as "P-", "A-", etc in the John chapters of NtN it feels like it's mysterious and confusing for the sake of being mysterious and confusing. It doesn't feel earned? Like obviously if these were entirely new characters there'd be no reason to hide the names, so it can safely be assumed it's lyctors and their cavaliers (or you know, it's deeply painfully obvious to the point I'm confused whether it's meant to be a secret or if it's just there to make reading it harder?), in which case, just tell me the fucking names and there's still plenty of mystery to be had.
This is extra annoying to me because otherwise, NtN feels better written than the first two books? Maybe it's just a result of Nona's childlike outlook but there's much less flowery bullshit and "look how many obscure words I know" and I think 126 pages in I've only encountered one meme and it wasn't even distracting

(a low-effort, self-indulgent post about 141 x sunshine reader with a love for flowers <3)
Moving to a military town had been a gamble. You weren’t military, had no family in the service, and you had no real reason to pick this particular place other than the fact that it was safe, stable, and quiet. The houses were affordable, the people were friendly enough, and you figured you could make a home here. Besides, you were far enough from the base to avoid their early morning drills but close enough to still feel secure.
And it was nice. Really, it was.
The town had its charm. It was small, orderly, and filled with people who were either part of the military or had long grown used to living in the shadow of it.
You just hadn’t expected it to be so… plain.
Everything was muted, designed for practicality rather than beauty. Row after row of beige houses, identical porches, yards that were neat but uninspired. It felt more like a barracks than a town, and you knew you wouldn’t last long surrounded by such monotony.
So, you changed it.
Within a week of moving in, your porch was transformed into a floral wonderland. Ivy and jasmine vines trailed along the railings, hanging baskets, overflowed with cascading petunias, swung from the beams, and the front steps were lined with carefully arranged potted blooms. Roses, marigolds, lavender- anything that could inject some color and life into the dull uniformity of the street.
And the town noticed.
It started small- passersby slowing down, lingering in front of your house, knocking to ask if they can take pictures. Then came the comments at the local market.
“Did you see the new house on [] Street? The one covered in flowers?”
“I thought I was dreaming- looked like something out of a storybook!”
“Oh, that’s her place. She’s always out there, tending to them. Such a sweet thing, always smiling.”
And then came the soldiers.
One morning, while you were watering your newest additions- lilies this time- a group of soldiers on their way to base slowed in front of your house. Their conversation died off, replaced by muttered confusion.
“Didn’t know we had a damn botanical garden in town.” One of them said, adjusting the strap of his gear bag.
“Are those-” Another squinted at your newest arrangement. “Does she change them?”
“She does,” a woman in the group confirmed; you had seen her before, you were sure. “Saw her planting new ones last week. Honestly, it’s nice.”
You smiled to yourself, pretending not to notice as they carried on their way.
But it didn’t stop there.
Another soldier stopped during his run, hands on his hips as he took in your porch. “Hell of a setup.” He commented, glancing at you.
“Thank you!” You beamed, wiping your dirt-streaked hands on your shorts. “Wouldn’t want the town looking too drab, now would we?”
His lips twitched. “Well, you’re succeeding.”
More and more soldiers began to take notice. Some just passed by with lingering glances, others stopped to admire the work. A few even asked for gardening advice- one particularly flustered private admitted he wanted to impress his girlfriend with a flower arrangement but had no idea where to start. You happily helped him pick out a selection, even wrote him a little care guide.
It wasn’t just the passing soldiers, either.
Older women in town would stop by just to chat about your arrangements, some even bringing over cuttings from their own gardens. Parents would pause during walks, their children pointing excitedly at the bright flowers and fairy lights you had strung along the porch. The local baker started leaving small bags of cookies at your door with notes like, Your flowers made my morning brighter!
And then there was Task Force 141, as they’d eventually introduce themselves to you.
The first time you caught Captain John Price standing on your sidewalk, arms crossed as he stared at your house, you thought you were in trouble. He had the kind of presence that demanded respect- commanding, observant, the weight of experience in every movement.
“You lost?” you teased anyways, adjusting a pot of marigolds, and hoping he wouldn’t consider you disrespectful.
Price huffed a quiet laugh, eyes flicking between the vines, the flowers, the fairy lights. “No. Just… wasn’t expecting this.” He gestured vaguely at the floral explosion around you.
“Well,” you grinned. “I refuse to live somewhere that looks like a training camp. You are the soldiers, not me.”
That had been the start of it.
Soap was the next to visit. He showed up a few days later, leaning against your railing as he inspected a cluster of bright yellow sunflowers. “Got any of those that’ll survive my terrible luck?”
You hummed, then handed him a small, sturdy succulent. “Try not to kill it.”
Then came Gaz, who always claimed he was “just passing through” but somehow always found himself near your house. He asked questions- what flowers worked best for balconies? His mum has a love for tending to flowers as well. Did you have any recommendations for someone who had never taken care of a plant in his life?
Regardledd, you happily enjoyed chatting with him, and he left with a small potted fern, promising to send updates.
And then there was Ghost.
Ghost never exactly visited, but you saw him. Once, when you were rearranging your display and muttering about getting new soil, you spotted him standing across the street, arms folded as he observed your work. He didn’t say anything- just gave a barely perceptible nod before disappearing back into the shadows.
But the next morning, a heavy bag of high-quality soil rested against your porch steps. No note. No explanation.
But from what the others had told you of him… you knew who it was from.
The townsfolk had opinions about that, too.
“That group’s been sniffing around your place an awful lot,” Mrs. Holloway, the town baker, noted one morning as she handed you a fresh loaf of bread. “You got yourself a security detail, dear?”
You laughed, shaking your head. “I think they just like the flowers.”
The butcher, a gruff man who had lived in the town longer than anyone, grunted in agreement. “Good. Those boys need something nice to look at.”
Even the local barista took notice. “Gaz came in the other day asking if we had any floral-themed drinks,” she giggled, leaning in close to you. “I swear, he’s trying to impress you.”
Ultimately, the town adored what you were doing. Where once there had been dull uniformity, now there was life. People started adding their own touches- small flower pots, window boxes, even a few hanging baskets inspired by yours. The air felt lighter, more welcoming.
And the 141?
They had seen the worst the world had to offer. They had fought in places where beauty was a distant memory, where survival took precedence over everything else.
Yet, somehow, you- sunshine incarnate, with dirt-streaked hands and a smile that could brighten even the darkest day- had managed to burrow into their hardened hearts.
