I’m kind of interested in the setup of TFP post-war Cybertron

Because up until the finale, it was a dead world, and the only people there now were the people who were there when it got restored in the first place. There’s no one there, everyone has to come back

So like, anyone, Autobot or Decepticon, could come back to help and rebuild Cybertron, and by proxy, have a second chance. The only ones standing in their way would be the TFP cast, and they let Knockout join them. So like unless you’re causing real trouble, you probably won’t get discriminated against for your faction

But also everyone coming there would learn that the war is pretty much over, since Optimus is dead and Megatron renounced the cause (though he could probably also be declared dead as well, since he doesn’t really seem like he wants people looking for him). So again, having to make peace with the other factions

I think the setup could make some interesting post-war stories, rebuilding Cybertron and trying to reunify the race, without Optimus or Megatron around

I know IDW had stories post-war, but I think there the Senate was still around in some way and Cybertron still populated and with certain biases. With the Prime setup, pretty much everything’s a clean slate, with no government or war faction leaders (though there’s still some commanders and such), just the ruins of Cybertron and whoever comes back to rebuild

-How do you think megatron and optimus each react to being sick/who is the worse patient? Or how do they react to each other being sick? (in a scenario where they were in proximity to each other, could be during or post war)

-Do you have any headcanons about hearts of steel megop? Ik there’s not a lot there in canon but still, megatron cannon looks cool XD I have been contemplating if plug n play would work the same way because I’m not sure if a cannon and a train have cables the same way? Or if it’d work the same because they’re alien tech anyways!

-In the spirit of the season, what do you think each of them would wear for halloween if a scenario occurred where they had to dress up, or how do you think they would get out of wearing a halloween costume?

Sickness: I've actually thought about this before and even thought of writing a fluff piece for it in NATP-verse! Idk about who's the better/worse patient, but I think Megatron is actually the best caretaker simply bc Optimus is so active and powerful (their equality is a reason they're attracted to each other after all) that it's rare for Megatron to get the chance to be nurturing and protective towards Optimus. And I think, because IDW Megatron in particular deprived himself of attachments for so long, the act of caring for another person is especially novel to him and so he just loves doing it. Optimus is there all sick and grumpy bc he can't jump off buildings or w/e but meanwhile Megatron couldn't be happier... even the tedious/gross stuff just makes him so happy to have a chance to care for Optimus 😭 I think they're both equally bad patients for the same reason (tough, independent leaders not used to relying on others), but Megatron makes an especially good caretaker/they're both in better moods when OP is sick and M is in charge bc Megatron's latent tenderness simply gets a chance to jump out

Also, this is why it's a really good reason that in Addicted to You, Megatron is the one who overdosed while Optimus is the one who's taking care of him. Bc I think if it was the opposite way around, sore interface array or not Megatron would be doing the hell out of Optimus bc he simply would not be able to resist the combination of needy, desperate, affectionate Optimus PLUS getting the chance to take care of his needs? Actual heaven. (This is basically what happened in Megatron's OP-threesome wet dream anyways so I'm sure that's not a surprise sldkjlsdf)

Hearts of Steel MegOP: None, sadly 😔 I actually haven't read the comic (if there's a full comic? I've seen concept art but that's it). Also yeah, I think that even when they take on Earth vehicle alt modes, they only superficially look like Earth vehicles and their actual composition and interior guts are still Cybertronian. So, cables.

Halloween Costumes:

Joke answer #1: Them showing up to a Halloween party is scary enough as it is, so they just come as themselves

Joke answer #2: They come in dressed as each other (like, paint swap and wearing fake kibble stapled to themselves) and do absolutely uncanny impressions of each other's voices and mannerisms

Joke answer #3: They don't dress as each other but they pretend that they had a personality swap through some unknown technological mishap (or maybe they actually did personality swap) and they fucking prank everyone else bc everyone at the party genuinely can't tell if Megatron and Optimus are telling the truth or lying about the personality swap, or they're like trying to find the hologram devices bc clearly they're actually disguised as each other and there's no way that Megatron could reproduce Optimus' quiet, bleeding-heart self-effacing nature or that Optimus could reproduce Megatron's loud self-righteous declarations, right? lksdflsdk it could honestly go either way as to whether or not they actually swapped or are just pretending

28.- Is there a character you have several ships for?

Bumblebee. The ones I activelly like the most would be starbee, rodibee and thunderbee, but his personality makes him so easy to ship I’m guaranteed to like any ship with him, honestly.

29.- What is the ship you ignore 98% of canon for?

Mmm, if this means a ship that I do like despite disliking its canon then… I can’t think of one. I tend to like canon ships because I tend to stick to canon or else I wouldn’t be here, but the caveat to that is that if I don’t like a ship as presented in canon, then I won’t like that ship at all.

30.- Is there a ship you like but you dislike the fandom?

Ah, this happens a lot because I tend to get attached to my own reading of the characters. It’s most poignant with TFA megop, I think, works done for it are mostly not to my tastes.

So I was scrolling thru this page. And I’m highly interested in this au you have…the “Oasis Aurora” or something ? Do you have a fanfic of this? If so, link?

I wish I did! I just couldn't ever iron out the fine details enough to do anything with.

It was gonna be a mishmash of continuitues, but mostly tfa leaning or tfa inspired versions of the designs. Like I wanted to have Tfp Ratchet/Starscream along with Knockout/Breakdown. The main ships were gonna be: BlitzBee, one sided Sentinel > Bee, RatchStar, MegOp, and KoBd

Ultimately, the project was just too big to take on by myself. I needed to design Oasis Aurora as a whole, backgrounds, character bedrooms, line ups of how everyone was gonna look. It was just too much to try and take on by myself. Plus it was designed as a musical. And that aspect wouldn't work unless I made a lot of animatics along with the songs and stuff because for me, song fics just don't work well. It was a really good idea for a project and I was very attached to it, but it was just too big

How I feel about this character

Robodad!!! I watched G1 to laugh at it and got emotionally attached to him somehow. Oh well. Kind, accepting, and ready to throw the fuck down when necessary. Peter Cullen famously said advice he got for voicing him was “be strong enough to be gentle” and that… resonates a lot with me. I love him…

All the people I ship romantically with this character

Only Elita-1 really. Mostly because FOR FUCK’S SAKE HASBRO LET THEM BE HAPPY!

I can picture a couple other characters getting one-sided crushes on him but that’s about it.

My non-romantic OTP for this character

His dynamic with his teammates generally. I really like his rapport with Ratchet in Prime, I like when his dynamic with Bumblebee tends towards mentorly, and I am begging the Skybound comics to elaborate on what his dynamic with Spike will be because damn that is an interesting setup.

My unpopular opinion about this character

I probably have unpopular opinions but I am also dodging the fanbase quite a bit, as I usually do. What I will say that would probably be unpopular with the Tumblr contingent is that I dislike Megop as a ship :\ They have a bunch of different dynamics over the continuities. Old friends, bitter rivals, “ugh, this asshole again” and I don’t think any of them are made better with romance.

Also he’s a working class hero. Not sure if that’s unpopular (and also it’s canon) but I’m saying it anyway.

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon.

Again there are like, a hundred canons and I feel like trying to wrap my brain around franchise continuity, when it has little to none, would just make my brain explode.

So I’m just going to say LET HIM RELAX.

How I feel about this character

FLAYN I LOVE YOU SO MUCH! Girl out of time, having lost SO MUCH still looking on the bright side of things, eager to explore. She cares for everyone. She’s one of the few characters who fully understands the horror of war from the start but she still moves on, and she’ll still fight and heal to protect those she cares for.

All the people I ship romantically with this character

…I don’t know that I do anyone? Despite that I’m pretty sure she’d love a boyfriend. I guess I wound up pairing her with Ferdinand a bunch? And their supports are really cute. But I don’t feel strongly about any of her pairings. I wonder if part of it is that she looks quite young.

My non-romantic OTP for this character

I love her relationship with Seteth so much! He’s so overprotective and she’s so annoyed but it’s clear they love each other so much.

Also really love her dynamic with Byleth. She’s so excited to realise she may have new family!

And Dedue. They’re just great together, I really enjoy their interactions.

My unpopular opinion about this character

I don’t know? I do genuinely consider her probably the strongest character in the entire cast emotionally. Is that unpopular?

Also again I’m not sure it’s unpopular but no way in hell would she join a Crimson Flower playthrough, it does not fit her.

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon

One, I really wish she got more supports with female characters. Think of her interacting with Annette or Hapi or Catherine.

You mostly draw Megatron with Crusade in his Cybertronian look but in your canons it was said that while carrying the spark Megs wore his Marauder look. Did Megatron changed bodies or is the Canon changed?

yes! haha so hmm let’s see. So far up until A Little Too Familiar I have tossed Crusade into my Crackship AU—because with the Cybertron’s future AU with a whole lot of my other sparklings, ones that have considered backstories, they wouldn’t exist because of Shamus and Envoy!—and yes in the Crack AU, Megan does sport his Marauder Upgrade.

I’m still 1000% open to keeping Crusade as like,,a cameo for the Crack AU but I will say I’m getting far too attached to their character to better NOT explore them more in a more intricate backstory kind of sense! Many of the asks I’ve answered previously about Crusade’s personality and future are still canon—with the exemption that Crusade has a far more present/loving relationship with their Carrier, who as a literal helicopter parent is near suffocating in his protectiveness and efforts to keep his sparkling away from the hands and influence of the Autobots, even if that means locking them away on the Nemesis far too much to be healthy, and lying straight to their face, and others, about their origins.

Since the TFN 2021 S4 kickoff script reading I’ve been leaning towards guess what—a whole other AU that continues RIGHT after that point, much like where the CF AU would—only certain rescission within the timeline have been changed leading to, in some relationships, a vastly different setting for a next generation! (No, I don’t think I’d create a whole ton of other sparklings in place, for example a planned Strika/Lugnut kiddo wouldn’t happen for obvious reasons, nor would Shmaus or Envoy exist!! Who would remain, THAT I will figure out later down the line.) So Megatron is not in his Marauder form, Optimus is named Magnus, Jazz is with team Prime/Ninja Corps, Sentinel is still a dick figures, Prowl is still dead and so forth.

What I have planned is sort of like where the Deceptions sport a retreat after their bust on Earth when attempting to take over the central line of techno organic energon. The Cons faced losses, high command was scrambled and still very much injured from their cruel, and unusual keeping within Trypticon, heavy sacrifices turned out to NOT reap greater rewards, and the troops are still starving—and starving, scared mecha are far more dangerous than angry ones.

Optimus is still coming to terms that he is due to lead Cybertron, under the title of Optimus Magnus as soon as he’s back, whether he likes it or not as the front lines are still very much on edge with the evermore increasingly violent rouge Con raids.

I made some commentary on the reading as a whole which was PHENOMENAL and I’m still riding the high that is the fanTASTIC work that was put into is, like god. There was a brief but hilarious moment from Rattletrap where he attempted to sell off a crudely photoshopped Megop photograph as dirt—a part of me thought it would be even MORE hilarious if said photo was actually, used and Op was left sputtering after a double take going like how did they find that. HOW.

My poor, poor fanfic loving heart got going on of course the What if the Enemies Were Fraternizing Throughout the Whole of The Show, Morals be Damned in Those Stolen Moments Because I Like YOU For Some Reason trope. Wow is me, be still my beating HEART. It did not stop—so I made another AU :D yayyyyy

Basically the creation of Crusade follows along in this timeline in that sense. They were a product of one too many lonely nights in some far off abandoned cave that never could quite seem to end with a civil conversation, let alone spark apprehension from the other when it came to going toe to toe of the battlefield for the sake of their Causes. A Comfort without Strings relationship, even if they did come to grow fond of each other, not that they’d ever admit it—a confession, in a sense, would only hurt both parties knowing that the two would never give up their motivations in the ‘impossible ‘case that said feelings were mutual.

From the looks of it, the Autobots did not once tend to the Deceptions during their stay at Trypticon. Megs still sported bare struts and tattered armor up to his escape—it would be believable that medics never once ran scans, let alone were ordered to get anywhere near the high command. With already being in such poor shape, battered, humiliated, starved, violated (those minicons?? homage to Trepan??? yikessssss) and sedated—it would be believable that Megatron wouldn’t pay notice to a small flutter in his spark amongst all the pain and anxiety, at least until he finally could gather his bearings under the lockdown of his temporary fortress stuck on Earth.

Megatron, knowing he was alone, now extremely vulnerable, heavily outnumbered and out favored by his remaining struggling troops, called upon his definitely not most favorite sub team to cower behind—the DJD, to meet his blaring distress beacon.

Tarn and his crew, with the help of the rest of high command’s signal dampeners, are able to as covertly as possible—minus the world sweeper size of the Peaceful Tyranny and the paralyzing droning on of the Empyrean Suite that Tarn just loves so dearly—made it off planet save for a few bumps and bruises from the small force of Team Prime. The High & Mighty Megatron was no where to be seen in the action. Probably off in a hurry to lick his wounds in retreat after getting his ass handed to him, many assumed, but Nickel knew better. Tarn knew better. Something was terribly wrong in order to resort to a ‘cowardly’ extraction and evasion mission.

You can see where I’m going w this—so anyways YES that is the general gist of where this AU kicks off!!! Megs and Op, particularly Megs, got unlucky on their last night together—eventually all leading to the introduction of the previously secretive back up weapon that was the DJD. Coming to the rescue of their Fearless, All Powerful, and Resilient Leader?? A strange, but instantly understandable measure to resort to once Megatron reveals himself as a carrying mech, the beholder of a true heir and a testament to the resilience that is the Deceptions though the terrible reign the Autobots have held against them through the eons.

I’ll go into why he keeps Crusade on a tight leash and Op out of the loop entirely for as long as he possibly could—and how the rest of Megaton’s troops behaved around this clearly, half blooded Con sparkling their leader doted on— later!

Needless to say, Crusade’s reputation from the moment they were born was tottering on a fine line between that of pitiable condolences for their leader, and that of true Decepticon pride knowing that the one to lead them to glory some day is none other than one of the Autobots’ very own descendants.

Hope that kinda better explains things! I like Meg’s Cybertronian design, it’s sleek, it’s sexy, it’s easier to draw, and since S4 gave us a fresher design to admire of Optimus, why not have the same for his other half!

Thank you ~ Tho I think I talked a lot about my stance on MegOP in previous posts, but whatever, lets do a crash tour of all the shows I watched with them! G1: G1 to me is kind of the playground for all kinds of ships and szenarios, the one to go to when you write about no perticular canon at all (well g1 and IDW, but I aint talking about idw here) So g1 Megop to me is more like the general idea for it and I do like it.  My main ship Megablade is an exception when it comes to my shipping preferences, as I do enjoy shipping enemies with each other! Makes for more complicated and angsty content :D (And for the most part I just aint into reading pure fluffy, wholesome and sweet stuff, I want some conflict)

Beast Wars: Apart from that one gay scene, I never really cared for their dynamic in this show. There aint much homoeroticism in it and their enemy dynamic also never develops or changes. It doesn’t need to, but I like it when there actually is a change in a dynamic. In BW they are just flamboyant villain and takes-no-nonsense-hero and thats it.

Beast Machines: Megatron’s hatred for Primal is so real here, I cannot even see it as erotic xD They’ve both given up on that gay shit, they are just here to defeat the other to prove that their equally shit takes on harmony is true Beast Wars II: Since I always count Megastorm as a Megatron version I’m gonna add it here too - Lio Convoy and Megastorm have no dynamic, because Megastorm aint the leader here.  RiD01: I say it everytime and I’ll say it again - Megatron doesn’t do shit in this show xD 90% of the time he never leaves the ship, aint no gay if he aint there to gay it! TFA: THIS IS THE SHOW WHERE I LOVE MEGOP! Because their dynamic does change, Megatron changes his opinion on Optimus and their different personalities and characters play into each othe nicely - Optimus has to deal with an enemy who is far more experiences in being a leader than he is, and it plays really well into his insecurities! I know it’s not the good rivalry murder-soulmates dynamic of other shows, but it works for me! :D

TFP: I see the appeal, but again: Their dynamic in the show never changes either. They interrupt the status quo a few times, but it goes back to normal murder soulmates quickly. I applaud the people who are able to create so much content for them and who revel in their backstory! Just aint for me Prime Wars Trilogy: It’s sad that this show is trash (my trash tho, I love it), because their interactions and dynamic is actually pretty neat here! Post-war gives them some unique stuff that I am sure can be explored nicely. At first Megatron was ready to kill Prime, than he went chill and is seen to have some chats with him, and when Prime dies (spoiler sdhfbdss) he actually seems to be a little resentful of that we know he still thinks about him. Also you cannot ignore that Megatron was Prime’s first choice when he and Windy needed more fire power for their plan to destroy the enigma! “Hmm, who can I call??? How about the villain everyone still hates, my former arch nemesis who lives in exile and will prolly try to kill me on sight?” “How about Ironhid-” “Megatron it is. I choose him.” There is no heterosexual reason for Prime to seek out Megatron xD Cyberverse: Kinda the same as TFP - the only time their dynamic seems to shift is the end and well. Megatron doesn’t seem to be in proper shape at the end :/ Siege: They talk like two times man, and I am 100% sure Megatron wants to see Prime dead with the same intensity as in Beast Machines. Which means, a hella lot xD There really aint much to grasp on, their “dynamic” is built on exposition dialogue and nothing else. We don’t even really get a sense of what their past dynamic was.  So I’ll just stick to MagsMegs here, at least they offer a hella lot of angsty fic ideas :^)

In general I like the idea of MegOP, I like to read fics of them that are short, AUs or just their own little story with no perticular show/continuity attached (and just straight up pwp, I’ll admit it) but when they are attached to a certain show in which I really don’t care for the ship, I skip it Send me more ships if you like my ramblings! ~

So I finally got around to finishing Animated this morning

Yeah no, Animated was fun. I really do see why people like TFA Optimus, he’s just great. Makes me want more Optimus Primes like him

Though I gotta say, I still don’t see TFA megop. Megatron only calls Optimus by his name once, and it’s like a couple minutes after Optimus declared to him that his name is Optimus Prime, and it’s in the last episode. I really don’t think Megatron particularly respects him much at all, even as an enemy

Though maybe it’s just a me thing. I don’t understand the machinations of true toxic yaoi. I admit, toxic yaoi isn’t really my cup of tea, that’s why Earthspark megop and TF One megop are my particular favorites (I’m also fine with g1 megop, but specifically because it’s the 80s show that doesn’t take itself that seriously. They’re divorced old man yaoi but they’ll never remarry)

Anyways, I’d say Optimus, Prowl and Ratchet stayed my favorites of the cast, I think in that order. Optimus and Prowl might be tied though. And I will also say Jazz and somewhat Sentinel are also characters I like and am attached to. Bulkhead earned my respect by the end of Season 2, though Bumblebee’s still kind of annoying to me. Would have been nice if he got a proper character arc. Sari was fine in the last season, but it’s weird how little she shows up there, she’s practically gone for the first half of the season past the premiere

I think I’ve said this before, but honestly I think my main issues with Animated stem from it being a Cartoon Network show from the 2000s. You know, it’s got tropes of its time and all
