Lucifer stringing you up (not upside down bc you’d die) because of some mischief you did with Mammon, but you were wearing a skirt when he tied you up there and now the rest of the brothers keep coming by to “check on you” when they’re really just finding an excuse to look up your skirt 💞
I imagine you’d be in a pose somewhat like this (link below nothing explicit just a shibari reference fully clothed)
#They are all desperate little pervs 💞💞#Levi especially would be coming by like 10 different times to ‘make sure you’re okay’ lmao#mammon would be so upset he missed out on it bc he’d be strung up too#it’s also partially so Luci can see you in shibari#obey me#obey me shall we date#obey me smut#obey me suggestive

can i request one where levi comforts his s/o during a panic/anxiety attack if thats okay? thank you!! <3
“𝙖𝙣𝙙, 𝙮𝙤𝙪’𝙧𝙚 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙢𝙚.” (𝙇𝙚𝙫𝙞 𝘼𝙘𝙠𝙚𝙧𝙢𝙖𝙣 𝙭 𝙍𝙚𝙖𝙙𝙚𝙧)
warning: maybe a lil angst!
→Text: hello there!! Of course that would be okay to request this <3 this reminds me 2 months ago when I had a small anxiety attack and my 'friend' did not care for me and left me and that made me feel so awful- smh I just wish I had a levi sometimes in my life cause this man does care for people in a way that is just unique😭 I hope this was alright and you somehow feel some comfort while reading this <3 I made this as headcanons and I hope that is alright? If you want another without headcanons and a fanfic instead let me know c:
note: was listening to "my blood by twenty one pilots" idk why but this song popped in my head with this request and reminds me a lil of Levi with his s/o cause he won't ever leave them <3 also, I swear I think this is my fav fanfic I wrote cause lotsss of levi comfort ♡ (if you want some real love and comfort from levi right now, then read this I swear you won't regret it!)
little mention of anxiety, loads of fluff, aot world, headcanons ♡ —
Levi Ackerman is Y/N's boyfriend, their relationship was rather quite unique and special, in a way that both would understand each other, support one another, and Levi has always loved and cared for you. He really was loyal to you and respectful, like the man he was and despite he had such a big role as being a Captain, there was not a day he never not think of you and he had to always see you everyday.
With lots of expedition that you and Levi went on, it had been a burden on you and caused your anxiety to intensify over time and building up. You have not mentioned it to Levi and decided to push it behind the back of your head, and this has sadden Levi. Sad at the fact that you never shared this with him, you both promised each other to let the other know whatever difficulties you both are going through and he wanted to be the first to know and help out as your boyfriend. After all, you were really special to him.
With the last expedition, it has caused your stress to reach a level that was overwhelming and you sat in your shared bedroom with Levi all alone dealing with the soon attack you felt coming.
For the first time, you couldn't sleep and you stayed up this whole evening trying to go to sleep, but tonight was just not gonna happen.
Then, it hit you suddenly, you started to feel nausea, feeling unsteady and dizzy. With all the deaths of your comrades and once close friends, you were feeling a fear of losing control and afraid to go crazy. It was such a unknown feeling, you started to panic.
You sat down on the edge of your shared bed and put both hands on your face. Not after a while, Levi entered the bedroom and was holding a cup of tea. "Oh you are awake? Then you can have this...Y/N?" He noticed and felt something was off. His s/o's vibe was different, you even started to act different. He was quick to pick things up and was quite sharp, he then saw that you started to tremble.
"Hey....Y/N, can you hear me?" He said in full concern, as he left his tea on the table and threw his jacket on bed. He now bent down on one of his knee so he could get a better look on your face as he looked up while he left one hand on your lap. He noticed your heart beat was beating quickly, and you were panting a lot, difficulty of breathing and even concentrating.
"W-What is going on....I hate this feeling....L-Levi help me" As soon as he heard your words which sounded really sad and shaken and especially when you asked him for help, he did not hesitate and quickly tried his best to give you his full support.
"Okay Y/N, Stay with me alright?" He would say as he started to rub your thighs smoothly, and still kept on looking at you, his eyes never leaving you. "I f-feel as if I'm gonna lose it!" You yelled out and brought both of your hands on the top of your head, you wanted to scream out this feeling out of your head.
Your boyfriend Levi noticed you were losing control of your breathing and he then quickly reacted, "Y/N, listen to me" He said in a calm and serious tone, having his full attention towards you only, he wanted to help you refocus your attention. "Concentrate on your breathing. Just focus on the present." He would say and try to lead you to breathing in and out slowly with him. He would wait for you to take a deep breathe as he would hold your hands softly.
But, Y/N struggled, it was hard and they started to feel a bit nervous. Although, Levi was there for them, reminding them that he was here, and he is here to help them. "Oi you're with me, okay? Now breathe love." With his soft reassurance, you finally took a deep breathe and closed your eyes, now following him as you started to breathe slowly with him, and Levi would count slowly to 10 with you.
Levi would not go in for the “hand on the shoulder” until he gets your permission to do so. So, he wouldn't want to make you feel even more uncomfortable or nervous if he wanted to lean in more to hug you, caress your cheeks or kiss your forehead. So, he would cover you with his jacket to make you feel his warmth, incase you did not want him hugging you. But if you did want him to hold you, you would grab on his wrist softly, signaling him to hug you as he stood up and he would not waste a second to go and hug you as you sobbed and put your face near his abdomen. You could also hear his soft heartbeats and that would calm you down a bit as he caressed your hair and brushing it with his fingers while rubbing and massaging your shoulders. He wanted to make you feel at ease.
After you have calmed down, Levi would take you to the bathroom while patting your back and to help you wash your face gently and you could feel his soft hand caress your face, and you felt his love and care for you. He would grab you a face towel and even do it himself to dry your face.
Then he would hold your cheeks, and say with a small smile "I am proud of you. Good job. Now, tell me what you need?" His words made you feel just back into reality, and you were so grateful to him. His simple gestures, words held a lot of meaning and you really did feel his comfort and love. Levi is patient with his s/o, and he would praise Y/N all their efforts toward recovery, even if they are not meeting all of the goals he still finds that such a big achievement, he admires everything you do anyways cause he loved Y/N and believed in Y/N. He is willing to do anything if you just say the go. "You can get through this." Levi would say in a gentle tone, which would start to warm your heart and your cheeks would even start to get red.
Y/N then finally said in a low tone as he was waiting "Stay with me tonight...?". His heart would melt and feel fuzzy when he hears you say that after he tries his best to comfort you in his own way, he feels like he has won and felt he had helped you which made him actually happy. "Of course, where would I be tonight if it is not with you? I'm here." He would say as he put his forehead on yours and smiled a bit. Happy for him to hear that he would stay with you tonight and not him hearing that you wanted to be left alone because that would make him feel helpless.
You helped Levi a lot with your presence, just being alive, being next to him, sleeping with him. With your presence you especially helped him emotionally and mentally. It was hard for him to go through those nights alone too but while you were by his side and with your kind words to him, he felt really lucky. And now he wants to give that back to you, but x2.
Levi is a very calm guy, so he will sit down next to you, hold your hand, and wait for you to talk it out if you wanted that of course. He would always wait for you. But if you wanted him to talk instead, he would talk to you about his day, and he does that so he can refocus your attention to something else and not focus and bring back to what have triggered you feeling like this.
“I can be pretty talkative…So, why are you giving me that look?” He said with a smirk and he ruffled your hair as you gave him a surprised look and then giggled a bit when he said that to you. Wow, that small giggle really really warmed his heart and you had no idea how much that meant to him hearing that after what happened. He found you strong, even stronger than him and it was inspiring to him actually.
He would be serious, straightforward and I feel like he would now really show you how he is actually always there for you, and always would give you his full wholehearted support. Levi is a very silent and quiet man so if you decided to talk it out with him, he would really take in everything you told him and would keep it as a secret or anything to his heart. I swear he is the only man out there who would actually keep his word and he is really understandable. Just his expressions and actions shows it all.
He would try and take you out for a stroll, to help you break the atmosphere and be in the nature, breathing in the cold breeze as he would hold on your hand tightly. Levi would also bring a bottle of water along the way to help Y/N calm them. He wont ever leave your side at all.
He would offer medicine if Y/N usually takes it during an attack. Levi would memorize what it is and make sure to get that ready for them and even help them take it.
He would not agree to s/o avoid the things or situations that has caused them to feel anxious and have this attack. After all, he wanted only all the best for you and it always sadden him whenever he saw you go through this because you really mattered to him and you did not deserve this. So he would try after a couple of days talk it out with you and he would try and get rid of things or find out what are the things that trigger you and also tell you what to do if he is not there next that. "Just come to me, alright love?" He would say as he brought both of his hands, grabbing your face and caressing your cheeks with his thumb.
"It's not the place that is bothering you, it's the thought. Which these feelings are scary, but aren't dangerous and will pass, and I'm here to make that happen and to help you, alright love?" Levi would say and this would shock you, you were amazed at his words, how mature and wise they were. You knew Levi was smart but it seems like when he is serious and calm, he would say wise words to his s/o and this would comfort them a lot. He would only say his wise words when necessary.
With this all, Levi really helped you reduce the amount of stress you were having and got rid of this unknown feeling which started to make you breathe back normally and calmed down. With all his ways to comfort you, Levi prevented the situation from getting worse and that was his main concern and goal, you were his first priority.
I'm kind of happy how this turned out and I feel like this fits with Levi, he would only be like this only to his s/o and to be honest this also has comforted me and warmed my heart as I wrote this out! So, I really hope its the same with you all and this warmed your heart <3 if it did, please leave a like, a message or a reblog! Love you all and thank you for the support ♡♡♡

1k event masterlist
↞ back to attack on titan masterlist
The sound of your screams and the tears that flooded from your eyes was the last thing Levi saw when a titan had collided right into you. It had been quick, carefully thought out even, the way the horse was flung to the side and you almost looked ethereal in the sky. But it wasn’t some scene in a play where you would look magnificent, your blood curdling scream was what made everybody turn to look at you.
Turn and see a superior flung to the side, with blood seeping through your clothes. Your stomach churning at the impact, ready to be eaten. Levi saw it all, quickly slashing the neck of a titan before running to the titan, it gripped your body as your legs kicked and your mouth screamed. Tears mixed with blood dampened your skin, this was it for you. This was what everything had come down to, the titans mouth opened wide, you could almost see the other humans in its stomach. You closed your eyes ready for the tear of your legs, but it never came.
Instead the crushing of your bones, the excruciating pain you went through as the titan may have been slashed by Levi, may have begun toppling to the ground. But in its last-ditch attempt to kill you, it squeezed your body, bones crushing and moving out of place, blood trickling down your mouth. If it couldn’t have you neither could Levi.
“Y/n, you…” Levi was about to ask about your condition, but the way you were sprayed onto the palm of the titan, blood coughing from your mouth, bruises forming and pain searing through you. He knew something was wrong, you both were so close to having killed the titans, there had only been a couple left. You could survive this, get the treatment you needed, but as he ran up to you, grabbing your body he could almost feel your pain.
“L…Levi.” You coughed out more blood, he hated seeing you like this, in his arms vulnerable, he was vulnerable. What could he do, other than hold his love.
He shifted your body from the titans palm, you both in a safe area away from the others. “You’re going to be fine.” There wasn’t a question about it, you’d survive, you’d be fit and ready to go on the next expedition, he didn’t care.
“I’m d…dying.” You could barely form words, but if this was your last moments you were glad it was with your love rather than inside a Titans gullet.
Levi watched as tears fell down your numb body, he took a deep breath, he knew it was hard for him to express emotions. Express himself to you, but he looked up in the sky, suppressing any forming tears that could come out, he wanted to be strong for you. “No, yo…you won’t.”
“Tell me our story.” You were going in and out of your own mind, you didn’t want to fight over your death, you wanted to hear your story. The story of Y/n and Levi and how they were supposed to rule the world, fight titans and finally gain the peace that they deserved.
He saw how you shut your eyes just wanting to hear any story, there was no time to help you. He had to give you your last wish, explain your story if it was the last thing he did. “Okay.” He held you in his arms, kissing your forehead with warmth. “We met a couple months after you joined the scouts, you were so confident, remember…
“Is this the famous Captain Levi, I’ve heard so much about.” Levi eyes you up and down at how easily you made yourself at home with him, he raised an eyebrow as he folded his arm.
You stared at the man a smirk as you tilted your head waiting for a reply, “if you’re going to act like you don’t know who I am, then I have no business with you.” He was ready to walk away but you grabbed his arm, making him stop in his tracks. “What brat?”
“So rude, you’re the one who asked for me to join your squad.” Levi was the one to be confused as he looked at you with a puzzled look, “you asked for the girl who got first in the scouts, that’s me.”
“You?” He looked at you with no emotion.
“Don’t need to be so mean, I’m really am quite good.” You spoke highly of yourself, Levi hated those who had no actual experience to back them up.
He tapped his food in thought before replying, “we’ll see, get ready, you’ll be right next to me.”
“Gosh not even an apology.” He glared as you shrugged leaving him to tut in disgust, he’d have to sort that attitude out for sure. You had thought that joining a squad so easily and especially Levi’s squad would be an honour. But after his words it felt more like a low blow at how he didn’t recognise your talent, he looked down at you and you already had a will to prove him wrong.
“…God, you really hated me back then didn’t you.” Levi looked down at your nimble self, blood spewing down your mouth. You nodded trying to put out a laugh but could barely even lift your eyelids back up.
“Te…Tell me more.” Your words were short and breathless, he saw tears continue to trickle down, he didn’t know how long you had left, he witnessed more titans collide to the ground. Even if he had brought you back to the scouts, they couldn’t do anything until all the titans were defeated. You’d be another corpse on the long list, he’d give you these minutes, these moments to die without having a line in your name.
“You pestered me afterwards, on the expedition you showed off all those tricks and killed so many titans, but I never told, but I admired it my love, admired the way you did everything for humanity you didn’t fear death, I fell in love with you because you weren’t selfish like the others…
Levi had asked for you to come by his office after coming back from town, it had been a couple months since the expedition, and you had grown fond of the boy. He may have given you snide remarks, but the small upwards twitch of his mouth proved that he didn’t hate you as much as he let on. You knocked on the wooden door as you heard a come in, easily slipping between the cracks.
You couldn’t lie and say you hadn’t become infatuated with the man either, the way he killed titans and swung through the air always felt like your own private show. Even now here, with his watchful eyes at your movement towards his desk, he gave no emotion, but his eyes spoke differently, inviting you in almost. “What can I do for you, Captain?”
“Sit down.” He was stern with his words which you easily followed as you crossed your legs staring at him. “You’ve been working with Mike a lot lately.”
It wasn’t something you had expected, and you almost laughed at his accusations, “what about it?”
“I prefer my squad to work together rather than separately.” His sentence was filled with mystery as if he wanted to say more.
You felt confident in what you believed him to be saying, it had been Hanje who planted the idea that Levi preferred you more than he did other humans. But preferred was a stretch of the word that you had thought of, could he possibly like you, the way you liked him. “Captain, this isn’t about working together is it, are you jealous?”
“No.” He was blunt about it but refused to meet your gaze, you stood up moving closer to his seat, you leaned against his desk, eyes on his form as he looked at the papers in front. Rather than the side where your watchful eyes were.
“You don’t need to lie to me Levi, but if you really don’t, I was just about to go spend some time with Mik…” Levi grabbed your wrists stopping your words, he finally looked up at you. He moved his chair to be in front of you, his body between your legs, before grabbing your jaw.
“You leave this room and I’ll make you regret it.” Your chest felt heavy as you leant down to meet his mouth, his mouth feeling warm against your own as you both moved in sync with one another.
“…I fell in for you from that moment Y/n.” He looked back down at you, your body feeling heavy on his thighs.
You looked up at him, finally being able to open your eyes as you looked at him wanting to speak and tell him how much you loved him. “I…I…” You began coughing again, worry radiating off of Levi, “you told me…on our first date that we’d be toge…together forever.”
“We will.” Levi lied to make himself feel better, to make himself believe that this was all a dream. He had lost too many people, his mother, his friends and comrades he couldn’t, he couldn’t lose his one love. The one person he had sworn to protect, to save from this disgusting world.
“For…forever wasn’t long enough...” You whispered feeling empty inside, tears soared out as you looked through the dampness right up at Levi. He looked down and for the first time you witnessed the tears, how he tried to hide them with an emotionless face. But they were there.
He brought his head down to meet your own, forehead resting against your own, “we’ll get our happiness next time…I promise my love.”
You felt his tears fall onto your own skin, feeling your body begin to shut down, your eyes feeling heavy as Levi bent down to your lips to give you one last kiss. To give himself one last kiss, you were always going to be it for him, nobody would ever replace you.
And as he finally parted from your damp lips he heard the last words, he had never wanted to hear, never wanted to imagine coming from your lips. Your arm falling to the grass, body heavy and eyes shut as you whispered the words that brought about the end, “goodbye my love.”
Tears pricked down Levi’s face; he hadn’t expected it from himself. He thought he could stay emotionless but as he held your corpse in his arms, bringing you closer to his body, he remembered every second he had spent with you, loving you and how he was never going to get that ever again.
i’d really appreciate if you guys could leave a like, reblog or comment, thanks x

aot characters having a crush + dating hcs (havent proof read sorry for any mistakes)
- she understands that there’s something that draws you to her, however doesn’t fully understand what it is at first
- it’s enough to make her be more interested in you rather than the yeagers
- she believes that it might be your strength that’s overwhelming (and if you have overwhelming strength she is convinced that’s what it is for awhile)
- it is until she sees how Niccolo and Sasha are with eachother does she actually realize that what she feels is love and attraction towards you
- upon realizing this, doesn’t know what to do at first
- she was originally professional, but often kept to your side and felt an odd protectiveness admiration towards you
- now, she was much more casual and more flirtatious
- while acting confident around you, she secretly got butterflies.. you made her ... nervous ..
- nonetheless flirting with you is often, sometimes going as far as to kiss your hand
- she wants to properly court you and get you to return her feelings. She’d feel really bad if you never felt the same. Especially since she isn’t as used to the feeling
- it takes a long time for her to finally ask you out officially, but she does and is pleased by your answer
- however being with yelena isn’t easy, she isn’t one to follow you around like a lost puppy
- she had her motivations, she’s a yeagerist. If you’re not okay with that she isn’t gonna care enough to bother to stay along.
- she feels bad of course, she loves you after all but still
- if she ever had to go against you it hurt her but she would also understand it just needs to be done
- when that mess is over though she is fine with just sticking by your side
- or if you join her it just makes your relationship stronger and better
- doesn’t like pda cuz people might think she’s weak but she’s very soft when you guys are alone though
- lots of smooches from her
- she loves to tease you as well, she can’t help it though..
- she says you’re just so cute she has to bully you a little (more like a lot)
- secretly wants you two to get married so one day she will purpose be prepared for it
- she knows it’s stupid but hey... she has some hope
- secretly feels lucky to be with you even if she doesn’t say it
- doesn’t say that she loves you as often as she’d like, which she feels bad for deep down
- she doesn’t always know how to be vulnerable and express herself, while yes it does happen it takes time
- in a way you are her safe space and you make her calmer
- in a way, you were her hope and her god more than zeke ever was.. and that’s because you allowed to her to feel freedom, to feel love and to feel being loved, you’re more of a god to her now more than .. anyone else
- so maybe she tends to be a bit too protective, and maybe she tends to be very short with others that wanna talk to you because she wants your attention, aaaand maybe she tends to go overboard for you because she believes you saved her...
- so maybe she shows she loves you through actions rather than words
(While I don’t like her in the romantic sense she is my second best girl so I felt it was almost necessary)
- having a crush is always complicated, especially when you’re a kid.
- when you’re a kid as stubborn and prideful as gabi though, it’s even more complicated.
- she doesn’t even realize she likes you either, she’s too into her own head. Too overconfident to think about other people and especially in that way .. she’s oblivious, even to her own emotions
- she can’t help but wanna be around you all the time though, that’s something not even she can ignore
- she tries to impress you often, she will do the dumbest shit just to get you to pay attention to her in some way
- she works harder than normal, falco notices that immediately and catches onto what’s going on
- she tries to act tougher around you, just better in general
- she gets protective of you, when she does something stupid and you follow along she gets really angry and doesn’t understand why
- eventually after a talk with falco, she realizes (finally) that she likes you but never knows how to approach something like that
- eventually works up to the courage to tell you how she really feels about you but it’s really rushed
- is very happy when you guys start dating though
- doesn’t know how relationships should go.. important to keep in mind it’s her first relationship and you guys are just kids
- everyone likes you guys together though
- often grabs your hand, as her way of trying to keep you protected
- she hates getting you involved in her messes but it happens very often and she feels bad about it like everytime
- the first time you kissed she was a blushy mess wow
- yeah you’re the only one that’ll make her so flustered like that
- and it’s easy too, all you gotta do is kiss her cheek, or hand, and she loses it
- she lets you do her hair every morning, ah so today you decided to do her normal look? With the ponytail with some hair down? Or maybe a full on ponytail? Or maybe a little braid, or maybe just leaving her hair down for the day? Yeah who knows! Really she doesn’t care you do her hair everyday now
- speaking of which likes you playing with her hair even if she doesn’t admit it or say much about it
- hugs are often from her but usually when nobody’s around, she’s been through a lot... especially for a 12 year old.. (probably you too), just hug it out y’all
- she has a problem saying that she loves you, not that she doesn’t but she feels almost scared to say it.. like maybe you don’t love her and just like her
- after all, you guys are young.. how would you even know what romantic love is?
- but deep down you both know that nobody else would ever in a million years make you guys feel how you two feel about eachother
- on multiple occasions thought of leaving this all behind with you and falco and just living in a forest or something together but she knows she wouldn’t be happy that way
- she was meant to fight, but she and you make a promise to try not to die in this shitty war
- she will brag about how amazing of a girlfriend she is, but also brag about how you’re a wonderful s/o and how everyone should be jealous of how happy she is
- you know how she screamed while those mfs were getting trampled? Yeah if anyone were to hurt you she screams that kinda crazy ...
- she’s just extremely protective and really doesn’t wanna lose you too:( she’s lost some close friends and she’s scared of losing you as well
- kinda just always sticks to you like glue
- Levi just refers to you as the brats s/o
- real talk though Sasha would’ve adored you guys and been your biggest shipper
- gabi gets embarrassed if anyone says how cute you guys are
( not interested in him romantically either but he is a fav)
- falco realizes quite quickly that he likes you, gabi loves to constantly remind him and tease him to hell about it which is so annoying to him ...
- while he worries about you .. way too often.. if you ever wanted to become a titan he is doing everything he can to make sure it doesn’t happen
- he is extremely blushy and flustered around you like at all times
- he can’t say for certain he’s in love, after all he’s a kid and he knows at that age he has no idea what that shit is but at the same time he’s never felt this way for anyone in his life and he doesn’t think he ever will
- protective of you, especially in battles. Would not hesitate to jump in front of you to save you and take any hits he can for you. He does this for gabi and still does. He’s a protective guy when it comes to you two
- he lacks the confidence to tell you how he feels, he is extremely shy with you
- eventually gabi eggs him on so much that he’s basically forced to ask you out
- he’s relieved you say yes
- he’s even more blushy around you though, and ends up panicking because he’s not sure how he should be around you..
- should he act different? Or the same? Yeah you get it
- he loves holding your hand though, while it does make him die on the inside it makes him happy and warm
- hug him and he will die
- kiss him and he will die like 10 times over
- seriously this boy can’t handle affection without having like a heart attack or something
- gabi just thinks it’s so hilarious
- sometimes gabi purposelessly gets you guys to kiss so he can just die
- he’s an awkward boy but he loves you ... yes he loves you
- he’s way too scared to say it though, what if it’s too soon, what if you laugh, etc.
- will genuinely get mad in a relationship now though if you still wanna be a titan.. before he kept it to himself but he believes he deserves a say now that you’re dating and really hates the idea of your life being shortened
- eventually he admits he loves you, he wants you to live a long life, he wanted you guys to get married someday
- he would have dreams, fantasies, about you guys getting married.. even before you were dating
- it’s how he realized his feelings
- he would have dreams about you all the time
- now he still does, but he can just visit you at night and be by your side
- if he can, he’d like to buy you things and overall spoil you
- or try to take you out on dates as often as he could
- everyone knew about his crush though if we’re being honest he is obvious as fuck
- he would be too shy to hug you, but secretly wants a big hug from you give him a hug you both have been through it
- secretly a clingy boy don’t comment on it he will die
- he just wants to keep you safe and protect you please let him protect you
- she’s a bit of a tsundere let’s be real! She can be a bit mean at times and brush you off
- or just relentlessly tease you
- however she cares about you, she wanted you to live a long life and not get yourself involved in this fucked up shit
- that’s why she for the longest time wanted you in the military police
- and why it’s so obvious to everyone else that she likes you
- she eventually admits her feelings thanks to marlo and she is forever grateful to him for it even after him being gone
- hand holding is often, and gives you a big kiss on the cheek usually
- she’s not shy about her relationship, she wants everyone to know. She doesn’t see it as weakness
- besides she lost an important friend, she wants you to know you’re important to her and that she isn’t ashamed of you or to be with you.
- enjoys teasing you in general, sometimes will tease and call you a perv even if you’re so obviously not being one she loves to embarrass you
- often feels worried whenever she can’t be with you
- she often freaks herself out and thinks something bad might’ve happened to you
- she always tries to be respectful of you and your boundaries, while this is a normal thing to do she really gets worried about overstepping ever and will apologize even when she doesn’t have to
- something about you just makes her more soft and more worried she’s doing something bad or wrong
- protective gal that will kick anybody’s ass for you to keep you safe
- in the world you live in though, kinda necessary isn’t it?
- she tries to take you on dates and even if it isn’t always a common occurrence she tries her best
- kinda wants to baby you sometimes but she also knows how annoyed she’d be if you did so
- she just cannot help but act like a mom sometimes to you, especially if you don’t know how to take care of yourself
- now that you’re dating flirting with you is quite common, she likes to flirt !
- especially if it makes you flustered, all of a sudden she’s a huge flirt now
- overall you make her nervous and flustered, so she wants you to feel the same
- totally used to gush about you to like Annie before you guys started dating, she couldn’t help it! Thankfully Annie found it amusing
- still even after all these years swoons over you like damn how are you so attractive
- still tries to convince you to stop fighting within the survey corps if she can but she knows she can’t at this point with how long it’s been going on you’ve clearly had your mind made up for awhile now
- she wants to start a family with you but doesn’t know how to tell you
- honestly just wants a normal life with you she loves you so much
- (btw, y’all end up having kids named Sasha and marlo <//3)
- she hates the idea of you dying it’s something she thinks about extremely often and she gets nightmares
- she tries to keep that from you, honestly she tries to make herself look strong in front of you like all the time
- she eventually opens up doe
- give her cuddles and hugs ;( plz
- oohhh boy here we go
- if falco was bad enough well here’s armin
- motherfucker dies if you even look his way
- he’s so blushy and so nervous, he cannot help it
- he would eventually get comfortable around you though, and would often talk to you about the sea and things he wanted to explore with you together
- or read books for you to fall asleep to
- it made him happy when you did though, it meant you were comfortable enough to fall asleep around him
- if you ever teased him he wouldn’t know what to say and would just stutter and not get his words out
- in general stutters around you from time to time he can’t help it you make him so nervous
- he told you how he felt of course because of mikasa and eren
- when you guys started dating though, he still didn’t know how to go about romance as it was entirely new to him.
- in a relationship? Not a protective guy let’s be real you’re the one protecting him half the time and he always feels embarrassed about it
- he gets worried easily though, if you’re fighting and tend to be reckless.. it’s easy to be overprotective of a rather weak boy so it’s likely he’s constantly worrying about you .. yeah
- more courage now that you’re dating so if you tease him he may stutter but at least he’ll try to defend himself a bit better
- loves giving you cheek kisses
- shy boy is not for pda but if you wanted it who is he to deny
- likes holding your hand, loves when you hold his hand... man he just loves you so much please
- he probably spent a lot of time talking about you to Annie
- he’s thought about starting a family with you but truly cannot bring himself to talk to you about it, in the world you’re in and the place he holds .. he will just have to wait
- while a smart person, you are somebody he will go to for advice from time to time
- mostly though, he wants to be somebody you can rely on
- spoils you, my god he is such a simp he can’t help but spoil you
- sometimes you’re a distraction he will just stare at you and when he gets caught he’s so embarrassed
- like armin is so obviously in love with you wtf
- he likes being hugged a lot
- often lays his head on your lap and falls asleep he finds it calming
- he’s very sweet, and calls you sweetheart or honey
- he likes to just remind you how much he loves and cares for you, he never wants you to forget.. even if it makes him blushy and embarrassed
- hitch totally teases him about how lame and mushy he can be when it comes to you
- you’re his biggest motivation to finish this war for good
- also he is quite insecure in a relationship but he’s generally insecure asf just reassure him <//3
- what a sweet gal! She loves spending time with you, talking to you about random shit like how your day was and whatnot
- sometimes complains to you about how tough the day was or how hard Levi made her work lol
- or about all the cleaning
- she tells eren about you quite often and even somebody as dumb as eren catches onto her feelings for you
- she’s aware of her feelings.. or eventually becomes aware of them
- she’s not sure initially what to do with them, she’s young but she’s not an idiot and she understands that loving somebody in this line of work isn’t ideal
- she hasn’t truly experienced what others have though, she doesn’t understand the full extent
- so she allows herself to selfishly tell you how she feels
- she’s glad you return them, and if you weren’t already in Levi squad you are now as you show to be an important asset
- often you two will clean together and spend as much time as you can, you keep your relationship mainly secretive
- it’s unprofessional and besides you two might be separated due to Levi’s order
- it’s just best to say you work better together, which you do btw
- while her father believes she’s too young to marry, he does like you nonetheless
- she’s always embarrassed when he brings up the marriage thing and how she’s still young
- the idea of getting married to you just makes her flustered and drives her crazy that’s all
- not for pda, again your relationship is a secret
- Levi catches on, he could care less
- holds your hand mainly, kisses your hand, caresses it ... she loves your hands please
- often jokes around with you, she always did but moreso now that you’re dating
- she likes to tease you a bit but it’s all in good fun, plus bonus points if you get flustered
- she wants to brush and do your hair in the morning (yes even if short)
- she lets you brush and do her hair too though
- in a modern au would totally be the type to make you music playlists and have you listen to them but okay
- she finds comfort in being around you, even in her worst times
- which would’ve saved her tbh
- she tries not to think too much about the future, or a future that could be without you.. she just wants to live in the present with you for now and pretend everything’s gonna be okay
- she’s (mainly cuz of her father) had thoughts about having a normal life with you and getting married and having kids
- she knows that can’t happen, not for a long time :(
- clings to your arm a lot
- she’s good at comforting you
- she’d do anything to keep you from being moody or sad
- she’s also very sappy sometimes
- blushy boy, anytime he’s around you his entire face is filled with an enormous blush that anybody can notice
- while people might not notice things about bertholdt they can at the very least notice his rather obvious crush on you
- if you haven’t made a move by now you either wanna see him do it himself or your oblivious as fuck
- lots of stutters
- probably sweats a little tbh
- stares at you constantly, it’s hard not to notice and Reiner comments on it quite a bit
- if you’re a soldier he definitely feels guilty, but considers taking you back home with Reiner (kinda like ymir with historia)
- he tells you how he feels finally because Reiner keeps egging him about it
- he’s a blushy mess as he confesses, but he’s happy that you say yes
- in a relationship he can be insecure at times, he doesn’t think highly of himself so it’s to be expected
- just reassure him:(
- of course you would know about his secret if you’re a soldier, and you’d have to be okay with it and not expose him. Of course he’ll say his side of the story and all that. It’s likely you take his now
- he’s still a blushy nervous ... and rather obvious boy
- sometimes he just wants to hold your hand but is too shy to but he’s so obvious about it since he keeps staring
- just take this mf hand already
- he’s too shy for a lot of things tbh
- also side note if you’re really short like historia that is so funny to him but he doesn’t say it out loud
- will absolutely swoon if you touch or play with his hair, first of all you’re probably too short to reach his hair so it’s not a common occurrence (or if not, always in public), but also because nobody’s done that before it makes him feel so loved
- after dating for awhile and being a bit more confident he is the type to say I love you often, he can’t help it because he genuinely does love you but sometimes is scared it’ll lose its meaning because he says it so often
- is extremely protective actually, light cause him to make some grave mistakes on the battlefield because of how protective he can be of you
- you in general got him swooning
- he likes to cook for you (back at home?)
- in general would love to just spoil you
- if you do the same he dies
- if you ever compliment him, big blush on his face
- honestly can’t help but talk about you to Reiner, Reiner likes hearing about it though and he’s not annoyed by it because Reiner is a sweet boy that likes hearing his friend be happy
- while he likes you laying on him, likes laying on you more, like your lap or something ..
- he’s a big cuddle baby he wants to be held despite being so tall he is just.. please
- he wants to protect you during the day but at night just wants to feel safe and protected in your arms
- if you were ever threatened, if you are attacked and etc he is gonna be yelling he ain’t going down without a fight
- you make his brain short circuit and you make him stupid

hiii i am absolutely obsessed with ur drabbles could u please do nalu #4 and #39 pls🥺
“Walk out that door and we’re through” + “Please come home, I miss you”
This was tough cause the questions could trigger a story similar to this one I also did for these prompt asks round. But I think I can make it different enough, albeit angst hell 😅 here we go! It’s a little rushed but longer then I expected for a ficlet lol
“Lucy,” Natsu knocked at the office door, “it’s time to go.”
“Where?” She answered without looking up.
“Levy’s birthday party.”
“Oh!” Lucy sat up in her desk chair and turned her body to face her husband. “Right! I forgot. Um, shucks, but I’m on a writing high right now and I can’t stop— tell her I’ll make it up to her, will ya?”
She always says that… Natsu sighed, “yeah, sure…”
Levy Redfox was Lucy’s childhood best friend and while the woman was also his friend, it just didn’t sit well with Natsu that she’d choose writing over the woman. But this had been an ongoing issue lately... Don’t get him wrong, he fully supported his wife’s career as an author, especially now that it’s really starting to take off. The issue was it had consumed her at the expense of everyone around her.
He knocked on their friends door, answered by Levy herself.
“Natsu!” Levy hugged the man excitedly, but when she noticed he was alone, frowned a tad. “Again, huh?”
“I’m sorry, Levy,” Natsu’s shoulders slumped. “Lucy’s in a,” he made quotation marks in the air, “‘writing high,’ and said she’ll make it up to you.”
“Well, I’m glad you came,” the woman smiled despite the sadness hiding behind her eyes.
All of their closest friends were in attendance and spent the evening talking, eating, and playing a few fun birthday games. It distracted him to some extent, but as the night wore down and the other guests had all left, Natsu, his best friend Gray Fullbuster, Levy, and her husband Gajeel sat around in the living room talking about the elephant in the room. Lucy.
“I’ve tried talking to her,” Levy said quietly, “but, I try not to make it sound too harsh.”
“Maybe that’s exactly what you need to do babe,” Gajeel chimed in. “Be blunt.”
“Yeah, I’m like you,” Natsu agreed with Levy. “It’s not easy to bring it up cause she’s oblivious about it.”
“But it’s hurting your marriage man!” Gray looked at Natsu. “And your friendship,” he switched to Levy. “I’m with Gajeel. If you aren’t honest with her, it’s not gonna get better.”
“Think I don’t know that?!” Natsu spat back. “Think I enjoy being the only one in that house in pain?! I don’t, but—” his voice cracked, “I’m worried I’ll push her away if I say something.”
“She’s already pushing you away dude. Do you still love her?”
“Of course, I do,” Natsu sighed. “I love her more than anything, but apparently it’s not enough… we haven’t even… you know, I can’t remember the last time.”
“Wow… Then you really gotta tell her. All of it,” Gray coaxed.
Levy who’d sat quietly through the back and forth, chimed in quietly. “Gray’s right. You should tell her, when you go home, just tell her how you’re feeling. And whatever happens, happens. We can just hope for the best.”
“You know you’ll be the first to hear from her if I do,” Natsu pointed out.
“I know. But… it’s time I come clean too.”
Natsu slumped back onto the couch and let out a depressed exhale. “And you,” he looked to Gray. “You know if it goes wrong I’ll be showing up at your door.”
“My couch has your name on it.”
“Gee, thanks.”
That had to be the longest drive home Natsu had ever taken, even though it was really just 10 minutes. He was a physical person by nature and never been very good at expressing his feelings in words. Words were his wife’s domain. There were a lot of things he wanted to say, but his biggest fear was saying things wrong. With his hand on the doorknob, Natsu took one last breath and opened the door to her office. He knew before entering, Lucy was still working by the clacks of the keyboard and interrupting would immediately cause friction. But he couldn’t wait anymore.
“I’m home,” Natsu called out… with no response. He sighed and spoke more sternly. “Lucy. I’m home.”
“Oh, welcome home,” she finally responded. “How was the party?”
He knew it was an empty question, because she never even looked up or stopped typing and it meant she wasn’t really listening. “Lucy… we need to talk.”
“I’m kinda busy Natsu.”
“I know, but you’re always busy Lucy. That’s part of the problem.” The moment the last word came out, Natsu knew instantly he’d picked the wrong one. Crap.
Lucy stopped typing, turned off the screen and shut the laptop. “Problem?” She turned the chair around with her eyes narrowed in a focused glare. “What do you mean, problem?”
“Lucy,” he ran a hand down his face, “I don’t want to fight, but we need to talk— there’s a lot we need to talk about.”
“Like what?” She crossed her arms. “What is so important that you need to mess with my job?”
There it was.
“I’m not trying to do that,” he sighed. “You know how proud I am of your career. But, it feels as if you’re choosing your career over everything else in your life. Me, your friends, we’re all just being pushed aside—”
“Are you kidding me?!” Lucy shot out of her chair shaking in anger. “I am not doing any of that! I’m not pushing anyone away! Y-You’re the one who’s acting selfish trying to tell me I’m not giving you enough attention! And don’t you bring Levy into this! If this was bothering her she’d tell me!”
“It does bother her! But she’s afraid of getting,” he gestured with his hands up and down at Lucy, “this reaction! Is it selfish to want to spend some time with my own wife?!” Natsu growled. “We never spend time together anymore! You’re just always hunched over that damn computer!”
“I’m doing my job!” Lucy shrieked. “I have deadlines to meet! This story ain’t gonna write itself! Research ain’t gonna materialize on its own! It’s a lot of work!”
“Lucy,” Natsu pinched his brows together, trying hard to stop from snapping further as well as to control the tears building in his eyes. “I love you, more than anything in this world, but I don’t know what happened to the woman I’d married. The old Lucy wouldn’t abandon her loved ones like this.”
“You’re just mad because I’m successful now.”
“That’s bullshit! And you know it! No job is worth losing the people you care about, and if you can’t understand that, then, I don’t know what else to say!
“Then I guess there isn’t anything more to say,” she spat back.
“I guess not.” Natsu answered softly, turned and left the room.
He’d already assumed confronting Lucy about her precious career would not end well, and he was right. Staying would only cause more trouble. So, he quietly packed a suitcase to go to Gray’s house, making sure to bring anything he’d need because he had no idea how long he’d stay there. He’d said his peace; it really was all in Lucy’s hands now.
Back in her office, Lucy dropped back down into her chair as the full weight of what just transpired hit her like a ton of bricks. She cradled her face in her hands as the anger that had fueled her response suddenly mixed with sadness. Tears flowed free. Did that really just happen?! She could hear Natsu moving around in the bedroom, the opening of drawers, the closet, the zipping sound of the suitcase, each and every step driving a knife deeper and deeper. How dare he tell her to stop writing! This was her dream! Her livelihood! Why couldn’t he just support her instead of acting like a child who wasn’t getting attention!
When she heard Natsu walking towards the front door area, Lucy raced out of the room to confront him one last time.
“Walk out that door and we’re through!” She screamed. “Do you hear me? We’re through!”
Natsu ignored her words knowing it was the anger talking… hoping it was just the emotions fueling her rage. “I’ll be at Gray’s,” he simply responded with a hint of sadness in his tone. “You should really think long and hard about this Lucy, because if not, you’ll lose a lot more than you realize.” And with that, he closed the front door behind him.
Lucy crumpled to the ground and wailed— raged, banging the floor with her fists as the sobbing overtook her. She truly could not understand what brought this on. Hadn’t she been a good wife?! Faithful! Hard working! What more did he want?! All she was doing was trying to make it in the cut-throat world of publishing. Does he not understand how hard it is to make it in that world?! She pulled her phone from her pocket and started to dial Levy’s phone number. But just as she got to the last two numbers, she stopped. It was already 1 am, and it would be rude to wake her friend up. Lucy sniffled and hung her head in shame before dragging herself back towards the bedroom. She’ll just call in the morning.
When Levy answered the phone, Lucy was slightly taken aback by the response. Not a hello, just a, ‘I wondered when you’d call.’ Evidently the woman was expecting it, but she was too tired to let it add to her problems. She hadn’t slept much after Natsu left— no surprise. She was still angry, but also confused, sad, and just mentally drained of life. Her friend agreed to come over in a bit, so Lucy dragged herself into the shower hoping it would make her feel better.
“Wow, you don’t look good,” Levy remarked at her friend.
“Hi to you too,” Lucy mumbled as she moved to the side to let her friend in. “Who would after a fight?”
Once settled on the couch, Levy went straight to the point before Lucy could even begin. “I already know what this is about. I know Natsu’s side, so start with yours.”
“Wow— okay, well—” Lucy pulled her legs up and tucked them underneath her body in a protective mode. “He tried to tell me to stop writing and I thought that was bullshit,” she said bluntly.
Levy’s brow raised. “Is that exactly what he said? To stop writing?”
“W-Well no, but that what he implied!”
“What did he say exactly?”
Lucy looked away, a scowl growing on her face and to hide the renewed moisture in her eyes. “He said I’m pushing everyone away.”
“And you don’t agree?”
“No! I’m not choosing my career over everyone! It’s ridiculous to even imply that I would!”
“Lu, do you still love your husband?”
“Of course, I love him!”
“Are you sure he knows you still love him?”
“I—” Lucy crossed her arms over her chest and sunk further into the couch mumbling. “I don’t see why he wouldn’t.”
“I can tell you, he doesn’t. Lu, you’ve pushed all of us away.”
“So, you’re taking his side?!”
“No. I’m giving you reality. You’ve been wrapped up in your fictional world so much that you’ve forgotten this one and the real people in it.”
“I—” Lucy turned away to hide the tears slowly starting to trickle down her face. “I never meant to…”
“I know…” Levy placed a hand on her friends leg. “Lu, we all know. He knows, but he’s hurting and it’s in your power to fix this.”
“But how?! I can’t just stop writing. I have deadlines and— you know, its a lot of work to put a story together.”
“You have to find a balance. Right?” Levy coaxed. “You have to take breaks. You have to relax sometimes. Natsu’s not asking you to stop, and he knows there will be times you really can’t stop. But it can’t be all the time, and right now it’s all the time.”
“I know…”
“Girl when was the last time you…” Levy wiggled her brows and grinned. “You know.”
Lucy blushed. “Too long.”
“Well?!” Levy laughed. “Are you finally getting our point?”
“Yeah,” Lucy sighed. “I got tunneled vision.”
Levy leaned in, adding pressured from the hand on Lucy’s leg and a softening in her voice. “And it put your marriage in jeopardy. But it’s not too late to fix it.”
The tears exploded from Lucy. “I told him… when he left, I-I told him don’t come back.” She buried her face in her hands as the sobbing took control. “I-I was screaming at him… so angry, I just lost it and—”
Levy pulled Lucy into a hug. “Shhh,” she held tight. “I’m sure he knew you didn’t mean it. Shh, it’s okay. Sometimes we say things we don’t mean when we’re mad. But you can still get him back, I’m certain of it.”
“H-how?!” Lucy sobbed into Levy’s shoulder. “He’s gotta be so mad at me!”
“Hun, Natsu’s more sad then mad. He needs to feel like you still love him.” Levy pulled away and cupped Lucy’s cheeks, staring, searching the woman’s eyes. “Can you tell him you love him?”
“I can tell him I love him,” Lucy sniffled.
“Then go tell him that!” She hugged her friend. “You’ll be okay Lu, you two are meant to last.”
“Thanks, Levy.”
“He’s at Gray’s right? Want me to drive you?”
“If you don’t mind.”
“Not at all,” Levy smiled. “Now clean up a bit, I’ll wait in the car.”
The whole ride over to Gray’s house was the most nerve wracking experience in Lucy’s life. As she sat there huddled in Levy’s passenger seat, all the ways she could ever apologize tried to funnel through her head. She was a writer, and yet for the first time in a long time, all the words dried up or mashed together like a broken verse. Levy did her best to keep Lucy calm, reminding her that it’s all about being honest— just let your heart do the talking for once and not her head.
“You got this,” Levy patted Lucy’s shoulder before she exited the vehicle.
Lucy sure hoped she did. She took a deep breath and knocked on the door. Seconds ticked by and with each chime, all the weight and worry crept closer to sending her over. He was mad. Too mad. He probably won’t answer…
Finally someone did. “You came?” Natsu’s voice was soft and low, his eyes still bloodshot and worn.
“I came,” Lucy hung her head in shame. “I’m sorry— F-For everything, Natsu please come home, I miss you. I love you more than my job, and I’m gonna make it up to you.”
“You always say that Lucy…”
Ouch. Straight through her heart. The tears broke free again as her knees weakened, causing her to fall against him. Natsu caught her, and she clung to him, gripped to his shirt. “I’m sorry! I’m sorry! Please come home! I love you! Natsu please come home! I can change! I promise I’ll change!”
That’s when she felt his hold truly tighten around her body and his head come to rest against her own. Lucy sobbed harder from the acceptance, pouring her heart in her words. “I love you… I love you so much, I’m so sorry….”
Natsu cradled her head and closed his eyes, voice soft with an upbeat to its tone. “Now there’s the woman I married.”
He held Lucy tightly until her sobbing slowed, eventually pulling away just enough to wipe the tear trails away. “Shall we go home now?”
Lucy nodded. “Please….”

Signs they Love You
Back for my 1 post a week to prove school hasn’t totally killed me! When I get a semester break, I’ll post more often. In the mean time, feel free to leave me chats or PMs for stuff you want to see! :) Something nice and sappy for an okay Saturday
These turned out really long so I only did Lucifer, Mammon, Levi, and Satan. I have to get back to studying :/. Maybe I’ll have part 2 next week?
Lucifer
You wouldn’t be able to notice it because his pride wouldn’t allow you to. One of the brothers (or, to Lucifer’s extreme mortification, Lord Diavolo) would have to tell you
He’s not sure if it’s just the appreciation of you not being as totally chaotic as his brothers or genuine human naivete that has somehow worn off on him, but he loves you
Will be outed by sappy, soft stares that last 2 seconds too long.
Asmo and Satan are the first to notice and he LOATHES that
If he’s tasked with waking you up that morning, his knock will be firm but his voice will be gentle. Almost persuasive or commiserating
If you’re feeling overwhelmed by school workload, he may have a private conference with the teacher and grant you a minor extension. Will you know it was him? No. Is he happy to see you brighten up and refill with hope just a bit? Definitely. Is it worth the teasing from Lord Diavolo? ...Sure.
If he responds to texts in the wee hours of the morning when he’s still pouring over paperwork, he likes you.
Anyone who knows him can see how his eyes soften when someone else talks about you. There’s a fond slowness to his actions, how he glides his hand imperceptibly over his chest as if to feel where that emotion is coming from. Boy is whipped.
Should Lord Diavolo invite him out for a meeting, he will bring you back something small. Something he thought you’d like. Beel is upset. Levi yells “SIMP!” from the second floor and prepares for Armageddon.
Actually reminds you about assignments if you’re not already up on it yourself. Your success is his joy.
Is very keen on if/when you burn the candle too long and has a sixth sense for bad sleeping habits. Will put you on a stricter schedule for your own health
It may take almost all of the brothers to do it (or just help from Diavolo) but if he gets drunk on Demonus you’re getting a whole BOOK about why he likes you. He almost charms your memory away but everyone practically dog-piles on him not to because he needs to deal with his feelings.
You’re the only one he won’t chase out of his study when he’s doing paperwork. He’ll even set up a little fire if you like the fireplace.
How he confesses: tries to take you on a fancy date to Ristorante Six. Does not know that Lord Diavolo and Barbatos know about this (damn time-travelling butler!) and basically crash the date just to encourage him. Just long enough to encourage him.
Kind of an, “So you chose this idea, Lucifer? Admirable! I’m sure your date will be amazing! Enjoy your evening!” as Diavolo walks back to his table.
Does Lucifer deny it? Look and see how red his face is. If you’re really not sure, ask Diavolo. He will gladly yell, “I cannot lie!” across the restaurant.
Mammon
For all his talk, when he really, really decides he likes you, he doesn’t know what to say.
He can console himself with how obvious it is and how you made the best choice, but he has to show it! What to do?
Mammon’s kind of confused about it because he doesn’t really change how he behaves. You didn’t catch on already?! C’mon, human!
What, does he have to spell it out for you? Do an interview with Majolish?
His first tactic is to just be around you. Be subtle, and maybe cuddle a bit more than usual. Things to show he’s kittenish and at your mercy. Comfortable with you.
You don’t seem to be getting the hint so he throws the net a little wider by trying to find things you like or that you’ve been talking about. They mysteriously show up at your door.
It sends the others on a gossip train about who your admire could be and when they list off everyone BUT him, he wants to slam his head on the table.
Feeling tired? Coffee! Backpack heavy? Silly human, the BEST man can help you with that, OBVIOUSLY! Mammon jumps at the chance to do any little thing for you because he cares. His actions always speak louder than words.
Feeling kind of defeated and embarrassed, Mammon will go talk to the flock of crows that meander around the House of Lamentation’s yard when he really needs them.
For the next few days you’re accosted in the nicest way, birds chirping at you and dropping off various shiny things
You collect them, finally showing them to Mammon and he’s embarrassed that his representative animal has taken to courting you on his behalf.
He calls them to him, embarrassed and ready to rant or fall into the ground never to be seen again, when they start talking. Repeating all the things he’s practiced saying.
“Hey baby,”, “Hey human,” “Love you!”, “Silly! Silly!”, “Dummy, no, dummy!”, “My human.”
It’s broken and confusing, six or seven bird children cawing in your face and bobbing, but you get it.
Levi
Levi’s not the best at expressing himself but it counts, right? As much as he hates to admit he’s some kind of shy tsundere, you know what that is, right? He doesn’t have to say it?
Yes. Yes he does. His brothers are getting too chummy with you and you don’t understand his signals. Time for Plan B.
If you get invited to stand in line for a midnight release, he hopes you take it. Then it’s just you two hanging out in line? What’s this? He brought snacks? Totally not for the two of you BUT you an have some if you’re hungry. It’s whatever
When he’s not doing boss raids and playing with online friends, he’ll ask if you want to play something with him. A Player 1 needs a Player 2, you know?
I headcanon that Levi knows how to play some unusual instruments like the kalimba or a real ocarina. I could see him making you a song on one of those. Or just playing it because you inspire him. He’s very good with a harp and will play it when he’s in the mood.
Boy also likes to draw and paint. Especially loves watercolors. Would it be weird if he gave you a painting of you as a mermaid? Just you and the ocean. Beautiful.
Was there a really cute plush or knickknack you liked? Levi has his ways, regardless of how rare or limited edition it is. It will be yours.
He has a hard time understanding a passing comment of interest versus a genuine want because he genuinely wants everything he’s interested in, so if you hear a whisper about him almost securing something, stop and look it up. Make sure it’s not super expensive!!
Probably outed by Belphegor, who feels like Levi’s broadcasting all of his stress, frustration, and hope through his dreams. (”His dreams are weird. Just different ways of asking them out, and if he messes up it restarts like a simulation. My brain hurts.” he says to Beel)
You’re allowed to come into his super-restricted bedroom haven when everything’s too much. It’s very exclusive since the Mammon incident. Be happy.
Might go swimming in his big tank and pick a seashell or rock to make a necklace out of. He hopes you like it.
If he’s not outed by Belphie, some of his online friends made a game demo they wanted him to try. They specified it was two player so he asked you to join in. While he’s in the middle of bragging about how he knows people, knows developers, he totally misses the dating-sim like dialogue and the big reveal.
Doesn’t really kick in until he realize the characters look like you two. You’re busy saying ‘Yes’ to “Do you like me?” as Levi absolutely threatens to rip them apart six ways to Sunday. Almost in full demon mode, too.
Everything falls out of his brain and quiets in his throat when he realizes the characters are kissing and ‘THEY SAID YES!’ flashes on the screen.
“Y-You like me?”
“Yep.”
It was that easy all along. Levi thinks he’s going to faint.
Satan
Becomes aware of it pretty quick but ignores it for a looong time
Is it rude or foolish of him to assume you would also like him back?
Run away into books. A solid plan. If you don’t think about it, it’s not an issue
Oh, but it is an issue when you fall asleep after a mutual day of reading, forced in by bad weather. He finds his heart fluttering in a painful squeeze as he quietly whispers all the things he dare not say when you’re awake
It’s nervous poetry, and it’s beautiful
Satan tries to get himself back on track, to focus on reading, and he gets frustrated when he’s stuck on the same page almost an hour later
When you’re on the brain he just can’t do anything else
How does one show their affection? He’s swimming in books for a new reason now, as voracious as ever
He brews you a pot of Melancholy Coffee and is a bit disappointed you don’t know the meaning behind the bitterness. Wants to break the pot when Lucifer jokes about how it tastes exceptionally bitter to him as well.
Okay, so coffee didn’t work. What else do people do when they show their affections?
Asmo suggests a ‘not a date’ date and Satan sighs inside. Sounds like a lot of work and effort. It’s not that you’re not worth it, but he has a feeling that everyone will know and look at him the whole time.
Tries anyways. You guys go to a beautiful nature conservatory and take a tour of the plants and some indigenous animals
You’re starting to realize it now, he can tell. Satan tries to answer your question without saying it while you’re at school. You walk together, he offers to carry some of your books, and always requests that he be your project partner
Nearly there. If there was a single defining moment for him, he’d want it to be classic. He shows up at your door with a rose and asks you to go on a moonlit walk.
Mammon’s poking fun about how cheesy and cliche it is, Asmo’s gearing up to shut Mammon’s stupid mouth, and Satan just whisks you out the door with an aggravated sigh.
No matter what side of the house you’re on, Asmo throws up the biggest, gaudiest handmade sign that’s like ‘CUTEST COUPLE! 10/10!’

Hey hey hey! I heard requests are open! (Also I can't find any rules for requests in your blog so sorry if I'm breaking any of em!) So could I please request for kenma and kageyama with a childhood friend that they slowly fall in love with? Thanks in advance! (。・ω・。)ノ♡ (Have a good trip btw!)
nisu entries:
hey, bub! It’s fine you’re not breaking any but if you still want to read them it’s here! I hope you enjoy this!
I’m currently working on all of you guys’ requests but if you want to send a request, feel free to do so! Anyways, happy holidays!🥰
okay not me casually sneaking in attack on titan because i’m currently rewatching it and the fact that it’s the birthday of humanity’s strongest soldier aka the hottest man on earth aka levi ackerman😌🤚🏻
KENMA AND KAGEYAMA WITH A CHILDHOOD FRIEND THAT THEY SLOWLY FALL IN LOVE WITH
KENMA KOZUME
you and kenma have been friends since grade school
the two of you got partnered up for a project and ever since then the two of you slowly got close
kenma was shocked at first because he never really thought he’d make friends especially with a girl
he thought that the reason he always want to be close to you was because he cherish your friendship that much
like the fact that he’ll teach you how to play the new game he bought once he mastered it
or he’ll always make an extra character that has the same features you have so you guys can play together
and even though he wanted to read the new released manga, he will still wait for you so the two of you can read it together
or when the attack on titan released its fourth season, he waited patiently for you to finish the first three seasons and even rewatched some of them with you before watching the final season because you wanted to watch it with him
he thought all of those things were natural because you guys were friends, not until he noticed how boys from the other class were trying to grab your attention
like they’ll make some stupid excuse just to talk to you and kenma would observe from the side and just look at them like this
he thought what he was feeling was disgust and cringe for those pitiful boys because he knows that they will never get your attention, that they won’t win you using those petty tricks
but he started to doubt his own presumption when he saw you hanging out with the dude that complimented your hair yesterday
like you don’t even laugh that way when you were with him? like is that guy more fun to have around than your childhood best friend? you never looked at kenma the same way you looked at that guy
the way your eyes sparkle and your eyelashes battle with each other as you close your eyes from laughing so much, why does it seems like the world around kenma got slower?
oh shit. do i like my best friend? do i like... y/n?
“y/n... do you like someone?” kenma finally blurted out as the two of you were on your way home. it took him 10 minutes to get over all the thoughts of how terrible this situation might end up, but he can’t help but hope that it might go the other way, the way he wanted it to go.
“hmm, yeah. why’d you asked?” you answered nonchalantly.
“is it the guy from class 3?” he kinda regretted the way that question escaped his mouth. it sounded like he was jealous, not that he wasn’t. he could’ve said it in way he wasn’t guilty of being a tad bit jealous.
“i’m pretty sure i’m not his type, ken,” you chortled. kenma looked at you with so many question running through his mind. “he likes boys,” you answered shortly.
the latter just nodded his head as he thought all the moments you had with the guy. he felt so dumb. how did he not notice it? the way the guy complimented you was a lot more specific than any dude.
“why, ken? don’t tell me you’re jealous,” you joked. when the lad didn’t respond you glance at him. “oh, my gosh. are you, kenma kozume, jealous because i was hanging out with a guy?”
“so what if i am,” he answered bluntly. he didn’t know where he got that sudden bravery but for some weird reason he didn’t regret saying those words when he saw your eyes widen. but was quickly turned into a grin.
“damn, i never thought this day would come. kenma kozume being assertive, i guess that’s a good enough excuse for me to do too, right? you don’t have to be jealous, besides the guy i like have been beside me since grade school,” you announced. you had that meaningful look in your eyes when you and kenma met each other’s glances and he already knew what it meant.
“and do you want him to stay?” let’s just say that the friendship chapter ended right there.
TOBIO KAGEYAMA
you’re oikawa’s little sister so it was natural that you knew kageyama
despite the fact that your older brother hated the setter, you absolutely adored him, in which only added fuel to your brother’s rage towards the poor boy
but when oikawa saw how much you adored kageyama, he didn’t want to ruin your happiness so he’ll try to be nice to kageyama (at least when you’re around)
even though you and kageyama went to a different, the two of you still kept in touch
like hanging out atleast once a week and always texting each other about what the other is doing
as kageyama was on his way to your house he came across oikawa, and oikawa said something about beating the first year before he finally asked what the first year was doing there
kageyama explained that he have been waiting for an hour for y/n in their usual hang out spot
oikawa bursted out laughing, saying that kageyama got stood up and that this is the proof that you really are his sister
kageyama knows that you wouldn’t do that on purpose because he was aware of how much you liked hanging out with him and that would lowkey boost his ego
the first year subquently rolled his eyes and asked if you were at home
in which the latter answered that you left a couple of hours ago saying you were hanging out with your classmate kyo
“i guess you’re not y/n’s favorite anymore,” with that the third year continued his jog with a smug look on his face, purposely leaving his junior with a lot of unanswered questions
kyo? he have never heard that name before, especially from you. we’re you keeping secrets from him? why didn’t you tell him about this guy? even though it was hard for him to open up, he’d tell you all his secret and insecurities then why didn’t you do the same? and did you really replaced him?
kageyama thought that he can’t blame you if you did replace him, due to the fact that the kyo guy goes to the same school you do, means the two of you would see each other often than you would see kageyama
he thought that his time with you in kitagawa daiichi was fun and he would cherish your bond forever but he would like to tell you something first before it ends
the next day karasuno have a practice match against aoba johsai and after the match kageyama saw you walked pass the gym
“y/n!” you heard a familiar voice called out and it was kageyama. he jogged up to you, all sweaty and trying to catch his breath. he stared at the guy beside you and the guy quickly excused himself out of the deathly glare of the setter. “so that was him?” kageyama said, he sounded a bit disappointed.
“huh? what do you mean?” you asked
“nothing. i just wanted to say that i really appreciate our friendship and since it’s about to end anyways i don’t need to worry about it getting ruined by me falling in love with you,” the setter confessed.
you chuckled, “why does it sound like i’m going to die, tobio? you could confess to me and not sound so dramatic you know? seriously, you gotta stop idolizing my brother so much. and who said our friendship is going to end?”
“uh, me..?” he muttered.
“why’d you think that?” you asked softly, you know kageyama even though he have this strong aura, he was still sensitive as a little baby.
“...you didn’t come to our hang out place yesterday,” he silently replied.
“oh, shoot! i’m so sorry, tobio. i forgot that we were supposed to hang out yesterday. i had a group project that needs to be finished as soon as possible. i’m really sorry, it completely slipped out of my mind,” you babbled.
“it’s fine. just let me take you out on a date,” he boldly asked you out. you smirked, you forgot that he could be as sly and courageous when he wished to be.

*Levi’s POV*
“I’ll admit, it would have been nice to know ahead of time that you were going to hijack the interrogation like that to antagonize her.”
Levi ignored the pointed jab at his actions down in the dungeons, gaze instead roaming around and taking stock of the people they past in a surveillance instinct too ingrained into his being by now for him to shut it off even going down the street towards a tea shop.
Considering L/N could hear so far out, even when she wasn’t paying attention, Erwin and Levi had decided to leave headquarters entirely to have this conversation. Which was why they were now headed for a tea shop instead of Erwin’s office to discuss something so confidential. Or at least their opinions on the situation, not necessarily the information itself.
"Did you at least get what you wanted out of it?" Erwin asked as they took seats at one of the outside tables.
"I did. Mostly. You?"
"I was skeptical when you told me, but after that little display of hers, she's clearly not human. Not anymore." Erwin leaned back in his seat and appraised Levi, their conversation pausing momentarily as they placed their order with the waitress that came outside to check on them. Once she went back inside, Erwin continued. "If you have more questions, why didn't you ask them before we left?"
"It had nothing to do with why we were there. Personal curiosity. And it didn't seem like the time to ask."
Especially after he'd goaded her like that, making jabs at painful memories for her until she reacted, throwing harsh accusations at her semi-blindly and seeing if anything stuck. The last thing she would want to do would be to give clarifying details about her past traumas to satiate his curiosity.
Her tale made her origins make more sense, but there were a few details that still weren't so clear to him.
The way she explained it, she was attacked and turned by a vampire the night before--for reasons unknown, he noticed. She hadn't said why she was turned, or by who. She'd actually glossed over that part and moved on--and then went home, not knowing what happened to her, thinking she was sick. Her friend came to visit her, Y/N lost control, attacked and killed her, then fled. He was sure there were details to make the tale far more gruesome, but this was what he knew for sure without letting his imagination run wild.
But then she'd shown up dead a few days later as well. That was the part he was trying to figure out.
“Some deaths, okay, fine, I'll come back from it.”
So, she ran away after the initial panic, and then came back solely to fake her death so they wouldn't keep looking for her.
And by fake her death, she went for a...temporary death, something she would come back from.
But why go so far as to let herself be buried? It was a closed casket funeral, so she could have snuck out before they sealed the casket and no one would have known. Why wait?
He hadn't forgotten the fear and trauma in her eyes when she'd mentioned being buried alive was one of her deepest fears. And now the mental image in his mind of a woman clawing desperately at a coffin, screaming for help while no one could hear her had a face to go with it, the face of someone he knew, no less.
It was humanly impossible to break out of a grave and crawl your way out. But if you had vampire strength, and every time you suffocated from the lack of oxygen or the dirt crushing down on you and maybe even getting into your lungs...then it was possible. So long as you died a few times on the way up.
Shit...something like that had to do some damage to a person.
Not to mention what came after. Forty years living in the Underground, roughly. He'd only been down there a little over half the time she had. And he hadn't spent it like she had--skulking in the shadows killing people because what she was demanded she kill to survive no matter where she was, and she couldn't go above ground not because it was denied to her, but because if she did she would literally die. Yeah, he'd killed plenty of people in the Underground as well, but far less, and for a reason that was entirely different even if it could be worded the same. He killed in fights because the Underground was that dangerous, or he was protecting people he cared about. She had to actively hunt and kill people to...feed.
If she'd been in the Underground before he was even born...he wondered if they had ever crossed paths, and he just didn't remember.
Hell, with her criteria for who she hunted and killed, he was surprised she hadn't killed Kenny in all that time with him Underground.
Or maybe she had, after Kenny left. It wasn't like Levi would know. Though he was fairly certain the man had gone topside, which would mean out of her reach and away from her hunting grounds.
If only there was an alternative to her diet. She’d laid out why it couldn’t be helped, and he understood that, they were good reasons. But still, if there was another way...
“You're thinking about something rather hard over there, Levi,” Erwin commented, and Levi realized he’d been staring intently at the table and had even failed to notice that the waitress was in the process of delivering their tea. Erwin was also watching him, though his hands were still in motion, his analytical gaze fixated on Levi’s still form. Shaken out of his thoughts, Levi leaned back so he wasn’t leaning forward intently anymore, picking up his teacup to start drinking before it got cold. Erwin waited until the waitress left to continue talking. “Is it something I should know about her? Another hunch, maybe? The last one was mostly right.”
Levi snorted softly at that. Mostly right his ass. He’d been thinking murder and treason and assassinations, someone out to get them, someone seeking to harm people in the Scouts. Ulterior motives and selfishness, malice.
Maybe the murder hadn’t been that far off, considering her body count, if he did the math right in his head. And maybe she had been hiding a secret. Perhaps she was dangerous, but so was Levi. It didn’t mean she was an enemy.
“No,” he said curtly, putting an end to Erwin thinking Levi might be holding out on him regarding his suspicions after how off they’d both been about this situation. “Like I said, it doesn't have to do with whether or not she's trustworthy and if she should be in the Scouts. Just personal curiosity.”
“So you believe her? About her intentions?” Erwin asked casually before taking a sip from his cup, eyes cast down as he spoke but flickering up to gauge Levi’s reaction once he finished speaking.
Levi eyed him because of the look on his face, but answered nonetheless. “...I do. She was sincere down there, some would say too honest. Most people try to hide the fact they’ve killed hundreds--thousands--of people, or that they could kill the people who didn’t trust them without blinking an eye, but she was upfront about it. She didn’t have to be. She’s dangerous, that’s a reality no matter how you look at it, but she’s attempting to channel that into helping instead of just causing damage.” Levi sighed, setting down his cup. “I assumed a lot about her intentions and where she came from, and it's going to bite me in the ass.”
And he was probably going to have to put some effort into making amends after all this--especially with how he’d antagonized her down there and clearly crossed a boundary. Several boundaries, actually. And now that the moment had passed, the guilt was starting to settle in. He’d accused her about some harsh stuff, some of which she was sensitive about, given her reactions. She was the one who had to live with what she was, so he doubted someone going after the very things you might cling to in order to retain your humanity was something anyone would take kindly to. After she saved his life--even if it had also been her that had almost killed him to begin with--after she protected him from herself and other vampires, even if he wasn’t aware, after she’d gone out of her way to learn from and appease the entire squad, after going through years of training to get where she was now, after putting so much at risk when she could have stayed safely in the shadows, after trying so hard to find a place topside, he’d jabbed at pretty much everything. Her basic motives, her humanity, her intentions, her personality, everything.
He had a lot of damage control to do moving forward if they were going to keep working together. He sincerely hoped he’d only damaged the well and hadn’t poisoned the water. A damaged well he could fix, but a poisoned water supply…
Levi’s gaze narrowed at Erwin as he realized the other man still hadn’t said anything, his suspicions solidifying.
“What about you? Do you think she’s a risk you’re willing to take?” Levi asked, echoing her words from down in the dungeon Levi had immediately known would catch Erwin’s attention.
“I am a man who likes a good gamble,” Erwin said with a bittersweet smile, resting his cheek on his fist as he considered the situation before them. “As long as she’s not attacking other Scouts, she’s trying to keep her bloodlust under control, she’s not causing problems for or bringing more danger upon the Scouts...I don’t see why we shouldn’t let her stay. From the sounds of it, having a vampire willingly join our ranks wanting to use all those abilities to help our cause is a once in a lifetime chance. She’s offering it on a silver platter. As long as she can keep herself under control, which she’s been able to do so far, I say we take her up on her offer.”
“And if she can’t? If something happens and she loses control?” Levi asked, eyebrows raised. She’d said it herself, she was a threat, there was always a chance something could happen, and that shouldn’t be forgotten. But what would they do if she did slip up with no sign of being able to correct herself before it got out of hand?
“Then she’ll be our responsibility to take care of,” Erwin said evenly, gazing at Levi in a way that made him believe Levi would be the one to take care of her if she stepped out of line. He had the best chance, yes, but it would still be risky. “Hopefully we won’t have to kill her if anything goes wrong, she’s valuable, and it would be a huge setback to lose her vampire abilities...but if it ever comes to that…”
“It won’t be a problem,” Levi said flatly. He meant that in the matter of conflict of interest, not that killing her if it ever came to that wouldn’t be difficult.
Erwin nodded. “She stays in the Scouts, then. I’ll have to factor in all this new information about where best to put her. She probably shouldn’t be anywhere near medical, for her sanity’s sake. And Levi?” Levi fixed him with a stare as if to ask what the hell was up with his change of tone, which Erwin ignored. “Considering the strangling tension between the two of you down in the dungeon, are you going to ease up now that you have the story--for the most part--or do I need to switch her to a different squad?”
Levi scoffed. “I’m not going to apologize for being angry about the fact that she kills people, Erwin.”
“It's not like she has much of a choice, from the sound of it. And she’s doing rather well, given her situation. A lot of thought had to have gone into coming topside and joining the Scouts, how to pull it off. She was ready with those questions, and considering she wasn’t planning on us figuring out what she was, that means she already went over those questions herself. She’s going with what she believes to be the best route, and considering she’s more of an expert on the subject than we’ll probably ever be…”
Levi waved him off--he didn’t need this explanation, he already knew this. She wasn’t going to prey on innocent people, she couldn’t afford to downgrade her diet too much considering she needed to be in peak health and control fighting in the Scouts, and she couldn’t just stop unless she wanted to die a slow and agonizing death.
Starvation over decades, maybe even centuries…
Regular starvation was bad enough, he knew that from personal experience. He couldn’t imagine going out like that--he wouldn’t wish that on anyone. Especially self-inflicted.
Levi’s gaze wandered to the few people in the street, moving idly from one person to the next, not really paying them any attention beyond basic people watching as he brought himself to his decision.
While he understood her position, that didn’t mean he was entirely comfortable with it. But was he willing to try and make this work, to keep her on his squad--this time as his decision, not a decision Erwin made in the name of surveillance--and see if things could still work out despite the mess this entire ordeal had turned into that almost ended in his death.
Was it a damaged well, or poisoned water?
Was he going to cut his losses, or try to fix this?
“...Don’t put her on another squad,” he finally told Erwin. “She’ll still have her skills put to the best use with my Squad. I’ll figure out how to deal with...everything.”
He was going to try and make this work, despite the current friction between them.
The only question now, was how?
Erwin was the one to tell L/N that she was staying in the Scouts, of course, and by extension he was also the one to tell her she'd remain on Levi's squad, and that it was Levi's job to keep an eye on her and make sure she stayed in line. As for Levi, it was back to business as usual while Erwin handled speaking with L/N.
And two days later, Levi abruptly decided that everyone was going to do a deep clean of HQ, assigning everyone at least one room, with L/N having two considering how fast and how well she cleaned, and himself having three so that he had plenty of time to think while he was cleaning.
Now that his concerns about betrayal and deceit had been assuaged, he could finally allow the softer sides of her he’d glimpsed to settle in his mind, too. Between the darker side he now had a better picture of and the person he’d been seeing since she joined the Scouts, he could finally form a more complete picture of the new person on his squad and start to decide what he thought of her.
Any lingering concepts in his mind that she wasn’t up to the job went out the window--except for a general concern about her being around too much blood. She hadn’t been in the middle of a truly hairy expedition with people dying left and right. She’d been struggling when he was bleeding out in front of her--what would it be like when there were people dying bloody all around her?
Then again, she’d already pointed out that his blood was particularly alluring.
That was still an odd thing to think about--he was probably going to do his best not to think about it.
He wasn’t too worried about her being able to hand the more...psychological stresses of being a Scout. If she could handle being directly responsible for death, and being around it so much after living in and hunting in the Underground, she might fare better than most in the environment.
If it hadn't been the sharper, harder edge he'd seen to her personality in the dungeon, the knowledge of the things she'd already seen and been through, he'd be worried she had too soft of a temperament and personality for the Scouts. It had been what he'd seen from her before the whole vampire thing came out.
She was the woman who went out of her way to comfort the horses and make sure they knew they could trust her. Who sat in the field with the horses and simply soaked in the sun's rays while drawing whatever she could see--namely horses, at least once the man who had been watching her, yet she never said a word. She was the woman with a tea garden in a hidden corner of the Scout’s headquarters so that she could save more of her salary...and use it to shelter and provide for the parents who didn't know, and would probably never know, they're daughter was still alive. The woman who snuck treats out to the horses from her own plate, who'd gotten at least half of Levi’s squad drinking their tea with a bit of white sage for health purposes--only Levi aware of just how much it was actually doing for them. The one who had asked for a different kind of lesson or tutoring from each squad member so they wouldn’t feel like she was some air-headed newbie that thought she was better than everyone because she was put on a fast track to Levi’s squad fresh out of the cadets, so that they could feel like they were still teaching her something, that she was learning from them. She was the kind of person who made little gestures like covering him with her cloak when she saw him asleep at the table without a second thought, or timing a fresh cup of black tea almost perfectly to help keep him alert when despite his insomnia he would start to feel tired in the middle of the day, who'd risked the loss of a leg to make sure Eld wouldn't get hurt even after Levi killed the Titan, and who had saved his life even though, at the time, doing so was a great risk to her, because he could put a swift end to the life she'd been trying to build above ground.
She was a good person at heart. Complicated as hell, still dangerous and a risk, and she had her skeletons, her demons and dark secrets, her flaws...but still, a good person at heart.
He’d been watching her closely long enough to pick up on all of that and then some, even if he’d tucked most of it away for later evaluation considering at the time he was worried it might be a front for some insidious ulterior motive.
And he had to do something to try and mend the relationship they had. They couldn't function as part of a squad with all this tension and friction, let alone as captain and subordinate, definitely not as a team. There had to be some level of trust if they were going to be working together in the future, and right now, there was pretty much none, mostly because of him. And he had to be the one to make a first step towards repairing the damage that he had inflicted so that they could start building at least the groundwork of a working trust in one another. They would need it when they went out in the field, because all that raw ability meant nothing if they couldn’t function with each other.
Levi scrubbed harder at the stone floor, seeing his fingertips turn pale with the rest of his hands red from the hot soapy water and the pressure he was putting on the brush.
"Captain?"
Levi sighed, leaning back and putting the brush back into the water, turning and lowering the cloth over his face to look over at Petra standing in the doorway with a broom in hand.
"Oluo says he's done with his room, he's just waiting for your inspection," she informed him, though the look on her face was enough to tell him he'd be telling Oluo to do it all over again as soon as he saw it.
"I'll do it when I'm finished," Levi answered, raising the cloth over his face and pulling out the brush to start scrubbing again. "Tell him to make sure he's finished while he waits."
"Yes, Captain," Petra said with a small nod, turning to leave.
"Has L/N finished with her two rooms?" Levi asked before she could leave entirely, focused on a new spot of stone as he spoke instead of looking up at her.
"Yes, sir. She actually went outside, out front, to do some extra cleaning while she waited for you to be ready to inspect the rooms."
She was also really good at cleaning. She had to be, right? She'd lived below ground longer than he had, and her senses were extra sensitive. One bad smell must be torture for her, the dust probably setting off her sensitive nose with the slightest buildup, her sight probably making it easier to pick out grime, and her speed making her a faster cleaner than anyone here--when she didn't have to slow down because she was being watched by someone who didn't know what she was. No wonder she was so damn good at cleaning, why he hadn't found any flaws with it to date.
It almost felt like cheating to him, for some reason.
He pressed unnecessarily hard down on the brush again, feeling the bristles bend and strain slightly in the brush, his fingertips turning pale again.
"Tell her when she's finished with whatever she's doing right now to come up here," Levi told Petra, offering no more explanation as he continued scrubbing at the floor.
“Yes, sir.”
Petra left after that, and Levi focused on the room around him--his third room, mind you, and he was almost done. His hands were red, a little raw, too, but it wasn’t anything serious. He just kept getting lost in his thoughts while he was cleaning, and instead of calming down like he normally did when he cleaned, he’d tense up at those moments where he got lost in his thoughts. He was going over his attempt at a peace offering over and over again, well aware that he wasn’t the best...people person, that communication on a social or emotional level was not his strong suit. But he was hoping the intention behind the gesture would be clear. She wasn’t an idiot--she was smart. There was a decent chance she’d be able to see what he was trying to do.
Hopefully.
Levi was just starting to finish up, finishing with a bit of polish on the metal in the room when L/N finally made her appearance, standing in the doorway with similar cleaning additions to her uniform as him, though she had an apron on that was currently tucked up and into her straps to keep any dirt from falling onto the floor while she walked.
She must have been doing some garden and yard work, then. Pulling weeds or something like that out front. At least she wasn’t tracking dirt everywhere, from what he could see--and his eyes were scanning her and her surroundings carefully to make sure she wasn’t about to ruin his hard work.
“You wanted to see me, Captain?” she asked formerly, keeping her gaze fixed on him instead of letting it wander around the room at anything other than him.
That was a start, at least. He’d be worried this entire rebuilding the bridge thing wouldn’t work out well if she couldn’t even look him in the eyes.
But the tension was still there, thick and uncomfortable, enough to put even him on edge. There was a distance in her posture, a different kind of guarded than when he’d been snooping around and watching her every move. Like she was hyper-aware of what he was going to think of her moving forward.
He was still coming to a decision about that one, honestly.
“You’re going to start training with me,” Levi said with no lead up, causing her eyebrows to raise in surprise, opening her mouth like she was about to ask questions before she quickly closed it again, since he continued to talk as if her reaction didn’t phase him in the slightest or give him any kind of pause. “You’ve got some things to work on before the next expedition. Two lessons a day, sparring and ODM gear. Make sure you make the time for it.”
“Ah, Captain...I’m not sure if I...should…” she said hesitantly, caught between obeying what was close to a command from her Captain and a reluctance to take him up on the lessons because...what, was the tension that bad for her that she didn’t think she could train with him? Did she not want to be anywhere near him any more than she already was? Did she think she would make him uncomfortable? Did she not like the thought of being alone with him?
That was a viable concern, actually.
Or maybe she just thought there wasn’t anything he could teach her.
On the contrary--she’d said herself that she was having trouble with the ODM gear. She’d said one of her risks was that she reacted too fast for the gear to keep up with her, sometimes. That was a problem, especially in a situation where one needed to rely on instincts--how could you rely on instincts while also trying to muffle them to lower to the level of the gear, or nearby people?
She needed help finding the middle ground, or at least training herself to instinctually pace herself so she didn’t outpace the gear in an emergency. Like she’d pointed out herself, that kind of mistake could be the difference between life and death, even for her.
As for the sparring...well, the only people here that came close to matching their skills was each other. Who else were they going to spar besides each other? Besides, it would be refreshing to have someone he could actually go all out on that would be a challenge for him. He was sure the same applied for her, now that she didn’t have to hold back to keep her secret hidden.
If that had been the reason she’d thrown the fight the first time they’d sparred.
Plus, all that raw strength and speed meant nothing if she didn’t know how to use it. He could still teach her things, show her some techniques she could use in a fight, that kind of thing.
Is offer to teach her was his way of offering an olive branch to her...and he didn’t take too kindly to her starting to turn down the offer.
Levi narrowed his eyes slightly at her as she continued to cast about for a solid excuse to turn him down. Most people here would kill for one on one lessons from him--a fact he was well aware of. Yet here she was, proving just how out of the ordinary she was as she seemed to be beyond just the vampire thing, trying to weasel out of it. “What? Don’t think you have anything to learn because you’re so naturally gifted?” he asked in a jab much softer than his accusations during their interrogation.
“No, it’s just…” she started to say with a frustrated sigh, looking over her shoulder like she was looking at someone, even though no one was there. “Eld’s already giving me ODM gear lessons…”
Was that really it? He doubted it. Yes, Eld was teaching her a few things, Levi was aware, but it wasn’t the same as what Levi was offering to teach her. And it wasn’t a reason to turn him down in the first place. Just another excuse. Unless she was really worried about what the others would think if she got not only one daily private lesson with Levi, but two. As much as Levi was usually of the opinion “To hell what other people think,” this one he could see where she was coming from if it was the case. She’d just gotten the others to warm up to her despite their grumbling and cold shoulders after the extremely green rookie got sped through all the tape and obstacles right into Levi’s Squad while they put in hard work and were hand picked by Levi after some time in the Scouts after displaying their own strengths and skills over a period of time. It must have looked like favoritism--and Levi giving her double private lessons wasn’t going to help anything.
It didn’t change the fact that she still needed them or could benefit from them. And that it was a way for them to start making amends...in a roundabout way.
“ODM techniques. Special maneuvers: team and solo, correct?” Levi asked, mostly rhetorically, though she still nodded in confirmation. Levi moved over to the table he was keeping his cleaning supplies on, starting to pack up his things so he could leave to start doing inspections of everyone’s designated rooms. “I’m not going to be teaching you what Eld is. You said you were having problems with reacting too fast for the gear, right?”
Levi spoke pointedly, giving her a sidelong glance so he could gauge her reaction and she could see he was serious about this--and that he didn’t have any ulterior motives. She didn’t protest again. She still looked a little uncomfortable, possibly because of the bump this could cause with the others once they found out, maybe because it meant the two of them were going to be spending more time with one another and they were going to have to get over this tension between them really quickly if they didn’t want to end up at each other’s throats trying to kill each other, but she didn’t protest anymore.
“Four a.m. in the woods for hand to hand. Two hours before dinner on the training grounds for the ODM gear. Don’t be late,” Levi told her, taking his supplies and leaving her behind in the room as his way of dismissing her.
Now to go yell at Oluo for not getting his cleaning job done properly, most likely.

(idk if i wrote the fandom, so sending it twice, sorry) nsfw headcanons for obey me with a sub/bottom reader
—
I hope nobody minds, but I got 4 different asks with the same type of request, so I’m mashing them together
Also, I really hope any NSFW stuff I write is okay! I’m really not that great at writing it, so I hope you all enjoy this!
Lucifer
( I’m so happy that I got this sticker okay - And the other side of the card now, too, thanks Devil Flower! )
Lucifer is the epitome of a dominant top, so he’s perfect for you, especially if you WANT him to dominate you.
He doesn’t even try, it only comes natural to him - Everything about him - His gaze, his composure, his self-esteem, his pride, his confidence, his aura, his stature, everything about him SCREAMS dominant.
While yes, he will be having you squirming under him, a moaning mess calling our his name with no inhibitions or shame, he will still hold himself back the first few times, until/if he knows your boundaries, kinks and fetishes.
Lucifer would either have you undress for him, slowly, to admire your whole body, or would tease you with his ungloved hands by tracing every curve of your body with gentle and soft touches that make you want more.
His kisses are out of this world, hot and passionate with a small tint of rough, but never messy.
He actually loves biting your bottom lip, tugging on it slightly, teasing you a lot, loving to hear your whimper.
Prepare for either multiple orgasms, or a lot of edging and orgasm denial, because unless you’re begging for your sweet release, you won’t have any mercy from this one.
—
Mammon
Despite having a huge power bottom or submissive energy, he won’t care what role he has to do, as long as you’re enjoying it.
He has some big self-esteem issues, but honestly, if you two are having fun in bed, then he really trusts you a lot, and he won’t think or feel down in any way, so he will focus only on you and your pleasure.
He loves you so much that he wants to make sure you get multiple orgasms, he wants you to be happy, to love him, to enjoy being in his arms, to enjoy his touch.
He loves the Missionary position, if he has to top, because he can hold you close to his body, look you in the eyes, kiss your cheeks, forehead, lips, neck, jawline and cleavage as much as he wants.
Mammon loves seeing your cheeks get pink and when you look away as you’re feeling good and shift around, panting for air or biting your lip, trying to hide your moans.
Expect a loooot of compliments and body-worship because this boy literally venerates the ground you walk on, that’s how much he loves you, and he will do anything to make sure you’re happy, and you know you’re perfect inside and out, and that you’re more beautiful than any star, in his eyes.
—
Leviathan
With Levi, it takes long until he gets riled up enough for him to be a DomTop, especially since he’s such a SubBot, a little blushy tsundere who likes to have someone dominate/top him, since it will spare him a lot of embarrassment.
However, that doesn’t mean he’s a bad DomTop, on the contrary, if he’s in the mood, he will be the best guy you’ve ever made love with.
It’s enough for him to see you in a short skirt, thigh highs, cute hairstyles that look anime-ish, or any cosplay/clothes with cosplay potential, and that’s it, he’s your guy for the whole night, he won’t leave you alone.
He’d put you in his lap and caress your thighs up and down, muttering how beautiful you are, and how much he wants to make love to you, hold you close to his chest, slowly undress you, pinching every inch of your body, commenting how much he loves every party of you and how beautiful you are.
Levi would make sure to kiss your lips and neck a lot, not caring if he leaves hickeys, mostly because he sees you enjoying those kisses so he doesn’t think about anything else, having it as an incentive to keep on going.
Say his name, say how much you love him, say how good he’s making you feel, and oh boy, you will see Valhalla in a way you’ve never dreamt of.
Also, he’s VERY good with his hands…Fingers…Thanks to all the gaming he’s done, and he’s veeeeery patient, and will know every little inch of your body and how it reacts, and you better bet that he’ll take advantage of that, only to hear your cute squeaks or whimpers.
—
Satan
He can either be super gentle, or super rough, depending on how you like it.
He’s a gentleman and he cares a lot about your pleasure, so he won’t do anything you’re uncomfortable with or dislike.
As well as that, Satan is afraid he’ll unintentionally hurt you by being too rough, since he’s a demon and compared to humans, he sometimes doesn’t realise the difference in strength, so he’d rather be gentle and know that you’re enjoying it, than seeing crude bruises or scratches.
He enjoys being a top and loves teasing you so much, being a lot into senses-play, so blindfolds, a bit of playful messing around, soft touches, messy kisses, he just wants both of you to have fun, so if you giggle and then moan, godamn, you’re killing his heart.
Satan likes hearing your voice while making love to you, and even more, when he’s in the prelude mode, just enjoying how wet he can get you only with his words, touches and kisses.
Sometimes, however, he can’t resist your charm too much, seeing you so vulnerable and ready to take him, so he doesn’t tease you too much, enough to beg and whimper for him, he will go right at it when he knows you’re ready and will rock your world like never before.
Your innocence is such a turn on, and the thought of somehow tainting you, in a devilish way, makes him want to do filthy things with you, enough for you to never want to let go of him, to never get enough of him, and love only him.
—
Asmodeus
Avatar of Lust? God of Lust? God of Love? God of Pleasure?
Honestly, Asmodeus is everything you would ever wish for in a love partner.
He makes you feel safe and secure, he makes you feel beautiful and love, and will give you enough self-confidence for you to be able to speak out anything you want.
There’s a weird fetish you have? Okay, Asmo’s gonna make sure he integrates it next time you make love.
You want to try out a new kink, but you’re ashamed or scared of it? No worries, Asmo will be gentle, and there is nobody more knowledgeable in this department, so you know everything he says is legit.
You just want to have a tender and passionate love-session with him, where all he does is pamper you and makes you feel loved? Yep, Asmo will be more than happy to ensure that happens.
You want to go rough and get dominated in a filthy way? No shame, Asmo will dirty talk in your ear how much of a slut you are for his dick with no problem or second thought.
He will NEVER judge you for anything you do in bed, and it only stays between the two of you, although he’s never going to shy away from complimenting you outside of your bedroom and saying how lovely you were and all that.
As well as that, Asmo would like to make sure you are pampered before and after your love-session, so he will make you do the whole skin-care routine with him, including a rose-bath with a glass of rose-wine or champagne.
Asmo is always very attentive at your every need, even if he doesn’t seem like that while at it, but it’s thanks to his experience that he doesn’t need to think about anything, and he can still make you scream his name with no real effort.
—
Beelzebub
(( I just got this too hnnnng, but no Alice in Devildom event card from Draw 10, I’m mad, lemme cry ))
He’s a very chill baby, so he won’t really care much about dom or sub, top or bot, basically, he’s a switch and will do whatever you’re comfortable with.
If he’s on top, he’ll be a bit wary because he doesn’t want to hurt you in any way, either from his demon strength, his huge body, or the fact that he constantly works out, so he’s even physically stronger than average.
Beel is very soft and will put your needs above his own, so he would give you so many tender kisses, will ask if you’re okay and feeling good, will touch you a lot, and of course, he will eat you out like there’s no tomorrow, provided you’re okay with it.
He will make sure you cum a few times before he goes further, wanting to be extra sure that you’re okay at all times, that he won’t hurt you, that he won’t be too rough without realising and all that.
Honestly, Beel is such a loving babe, he doesn’t believe in roles and anything of the sort, he lets emotion take over him, and makes sure to pleasure you, and if he sees you like it, he’ll continue with even more passion.
Can go on all night with no problem, but will go for as long as you’re able to, since human stamina isn’t as high as demon stamina.
He just really wants to love you and show you in any way possible that his feelings for you are infinite, so at the end, he will hold you tight to his chest, kissing your forehead and playing with your hair soothingly, staying awake until you fall asleep, just happy that he can look at you and indulge in your beauty and the fact that you really love him as much as he loves you.

Title: Lovebug (12/14)
Summary:
“It might be a bug.”
“A bug?”
“Sometimes the developers of this application make mistakes. This is our first time meeting I’m sure so…Isn’t it a bit weird that we just met for the first time and it rings like this? And for two strangers to coincidentally ring each other’s alarms?“
Levi is the developer of the Love Alarm App and Hange is married to Zeke.

Notes: Feedback is very much appreciated :D
It was one of those days where Levi could barely focus.
But it wasn’t anything new. A few days a year, his eyes would be heavy, his back would slump naturally and codes would blur together in some strange way even the most experienced engineers wouldn’t understand. Those days, he had attributed it to exhaustion, to sheer workload or the tension that accompanied impending releases.
It feels a little different. It was terribly unfamiliar and Levi could have almost sworn that it was worse than ever.
Still, he attempted to get back some inkling of control. He opened his workflow tracker, saw green then decided he could consider his priorities later. He opened his checklists and saw meaningless black ink on white spaces then he decided he could start elsewhere.
He opened up a few pull requests, only to end up approving a whole lot of them before even making sense of what fix the developers had been working on. Then, he then assured himself that maybe he could fix errors on the code once they were in production.
It isn’t good practice. A part of him warned. Really, how many times had he heard that from everyone else? How many times had he held those words like a badge and repeated them countless times to his fellow engineers?
But really, how did anyone particularly Erwin, the upper management, the executives, expect him to work after the meeting just that morning. They had dropped a bomb, a very painful truth that he had somehow managed to keep snug, almost invisible at the back of his mind for so many years.
The company ran on too much red tape and officialism. Hell, every fucking comapny ran on red tape, officialism and some tacky version of bureaucracy, all intricately engineered to please the richest stakeholders. Yet, Levi had been working corporate for decades, long enough to learn and just blindly accept them as inevitable parts of work.
Then and there, it was biting him in the ass. So painfully. Levi never expected something as grey and monotonous as office work and corporate politics to bite so painfully.
Ninety five percent chance. Erwin never told him the details of the contract termination but he had some consideration to at least inform Levi that Zeke was very much considering it. In that same meeting, he had casually mentioned the amount of time it would take to finalize it. If Erwin did tell him some specifics, Levi probably didn’t hear it, especially when he had been busy only barely keeping himself together.
Levi soon figured out, although he had been accepting them the whole time, a huge part of him would have gladly rebelled.
By god, he hated bureaucracy, he hated corporate synergy, he hated the concept of investor satisfaction. Most importantly, he hated the whole prospect of everything the past few months ending with some signed contract termination.
And the silent rage continued well inside him, as he mindlessly switched from one tab to the other, unable to make sense of much.
Maybe he had been too busy reflecting, entertaining those very unwelcome emotions.
Was he too soft hearted. Was he taking his job too personally demanding some personal closure? Was he too immature having been so emotionally affected by that memorandum? And maybe that inability to let out anything more than some professional query at his manager had him barely coping.
‘Coping’ came in many forms. It involved the slow realization he was merely an employee, albeit a head of an engineering team. Then another realization soon after that he was in no position to question the upper management’s decision.
It involved a very cruel realization that although he was the head of the emotions alarm project, the one who had developed it from the beginning and the only one who knew the application end to end, the emotions alarm was still corporate property.
By extension, by some fruit of corporate processes and the constant exchange of assets, it was Zeke’s property. All the assets, the codes Levi had created, the pull requests he had reviewed and merged, every long night he spent looking over bugs, had all been because he was paid to do it.
Zeke’s property. He acknowledged those two words and they echoed incessantly in his head as his eyes ran over the codes of the emotions alarm.
The emotions alarm wasn’t his. It was the companies. And when the contract is finalized, it would be all Zeke’s and Zeke would be the one to decide for himself how to work with that application.
Hire another head engineer to work with Hange… Hire other coders… That’s what business is.
He and Erwin had talked for a while after the meeting. Erwin had been careful with his words and maybe he had softened his tone just a bit, as if he had sensed Levi’s discomfort.
In his own state though, Levi could only stumble upon one conclusion. He was just as replaceable as every other employee. And the pain of having been too attached to a project, the impending loss of his own brain child had him catatonic.
Any comfort or attempt at alleviation seemed far off.
He wouldn’t be invited to the rest of the meetings. The fate of that project would be up in the air, mulled over by the top brass of the company, a few lawyers and accountants, then approved by Zeke. Levi on the other hand, would be ordered back to his office to focus on other tasks, expected to function like it hadn’t felt like some slow and painful end of the world, since the incident at the school a few weeks ago.
Any silver lining as he worked was shot down by his cynical side. The next few minutes, he continued to work, just for the bare minimum to get paid. He approved leaves here and there, He mindlessly looked through some code, ran a debugger he didn’t completely understand. He mindlessly scanned through the logs before he accepted, his brain was in no state to work.
Then he opted not to think beyond that. He closed all the windows on his desktop. He opened another folder towards the corner.
His own personal folder. Inside it were the same codes for the emotions alarm he had worked on for Hange’s birthday. But it felt like more of a personal project.
In its own little way, it pulled it out of that catatonic state. By some miracle, the gears of his head were turning again, slowly at first. Then they turned more quickly by the second, sending a rush of motivation through him. Maybe because the upper management still didn’t know about that side of the emotions alarm. Maybe it was because it still felt like a secret between him and Hange. And somehow, his mind was able to twist it. Levi had managed to convince himself, it was still his and Hange’s.
Hange is still here. She’ll come back.
"You know, I'm pretty sure conference rooms are for conferences.”
Levi bit back the surprise at Petra’s sudden visit. "Well we have five empty ones," he said. He had been working in empty conference rooms for weeks already and had silently rehearsed his own explanation already.
"You have your own office," Petra said.
"I know," Levi answered nonchalantly. Maybe most other days, he would have attempted something more engaging.
How engaging could he be though when his own brain child was close to being sold to an investor, its fate completely out of his control?
By some stupid corporate rule, he couldn't tell Petra that just yet. He looked up at her, willing himself to make some meager excuse of eye contact. "You need anything?"
Petra shook her head. "It’s not really work related… Or actually it kinda is... If that's okay… If you're busy I can bring this up another time." She was holding her work laptop closer to her, a subtle move that had been enough to catch Levi’s eye.
For just a second.
Levi looked back at the code. A wave of guilt washed through him when he remembered, it wasn’t necessarily productive work— a very temporary wave of guilt that he easily washed off just recalling the overly reverent attitude the executives had towards corporate processes.
He wasn't busy. The code he had been staring at the past few minutes wasn't company business anyway. "This can be finished later," Levi said as he lowered his laptop screen.
Petra cocked her head to the side. "Boss, are you okay? I noticed you haven’t been working in the office in a while and I know you---”
“The office is a mess,” Levi said. “And I just haven’t had time to clean up.”
“You need help?”
“No.”
“If you’re busy, I could--”
“Petra, it’s my mess to clean up.” He probably had said that last part too abrasively. After all, that mess referred to multiple messes at once and he was more than a little salty about that.
There was a flash of surprise, or maybe hurt in Petra’s face. Levi only had his peripherals to hint for himself how she might have felt. He sighed. “I don’t wanna clean it up but I don’t wanna stay there either. Besides, as long as no one is using the conference rooms, I think it’ll be fine.”
“Well, it is our right as employees…” Petra started.
“It is,” Levi said. He looked back up at Petra expectantly then lowered his laptop screen much lower, he could have easily just shut it down. “So what did you come here for?”
“I wanted to ask about Hange.” Surprisingly, Petra had brought out that conversation topic with a lot more certainty than every line before that.
Hange. And it had brought about an unwelcome twinge of pain inside him. He took a deep breath, letting it spread over his already enervated body. He noticed then, her name had started to seem strangely unfamiliar to his tongue. In truth, he hadn’t said her name in a while.
Levi took a deep breath and repeated her name, just a little experiment for himself. “What about Hange?”
“Your alarm and her alarm. They were ringing back in the gym.”
“That was weeks ago. Why bring it up now?” Levi asked.
Petra gave a slight shake of her head. “I was just wondering. Do you think it’s a bug?”
“It’s not,” Levi said, one eyebrow raised. He wondered if Erwin had ever discussed it with the others. Or wait, that might have been his job.
Petra grinned yet she seemed more hurt than actually happy. “I suspected it was a bug at first. But you know, when Hange stopped showing up in the office, you started acting different.”
“Have I?” Levi asked
“Yeah, you stopped working in your office. The few times I visited, it was a little cluttered but you never liked your office messy right? It only started getting messier when Hange started working closely with you…”
Levi was only becoming more self aware. Suddenly looking at how quickly, he had opened up his laptop, hunched over, just to hide his face behind the screen. He couldn’t even control his own reaction anymore. “And?”
“And when Hange was working… you seemed happier… You started going out for lunch more, talking to us more. You even invited me out…” Around that time, Petra started to stumble at her words, her ears turned a little pink. With time, she started to stumble with her words, to points beyond comprehension. “I know, I might look creepy pointing all this out but there were two points I wanted to make with this.”
“Two...points?” Then why didn’t you just start with it? Levi would have wanted to ask. But he was grateful that the speech was long enough for him to edit two lines of code, even in his own compromised state.
Petra took some time to compose herself. She put one finger up. “First, Hange changed you for the better, there were obvious signs that you were happier, so maybe those can be considered signs of love. Second, that means there might not be a bug and you’re just a really talented developer.”
“That’s reassuring,” Levi said. With his lack of energy, it could have come out toneless. “I mean it,” Levi added.
“If you wanna call it love or not, that will be up to you. But I think it aligns with our expectations for the application,” Petra straightened her back after that, adopting a more professional demeanor. “If possible, I’d love to have a chat with Hange about it. Maybe get her take on my theory…”
Petra wouldn’t have known. The talks had been between the upper management, it would only make its way to lower rung employees as a memo.
A fucking memo. Fuck red tape. Levi thought to himself. When it wasn’t official, could he even tell her?
Fuck that. “Hange might not come back,” Levi said.
Petra’s eyes widened almost immediately, her jaw dropped.
Before she could even speak, Levi continued. “They might terminate the contract. I know they’re discussing the legalities of it. Zeke is going to take the unfinished and have another team work on it. Or at least that’s what I’m understanding.”
“But there might---”
“There’s no chance,” Levi said firmly.
“Levi just---”
“None. There’s none.” Levi shook his head for emphasis. He allowed his voice to rise just a little bit louder than usual. He wanted to shoot down whatever glimmer of hope, before it got out of control.
Annoyingly, Petra had a way of just trying to find hope, the brighter side in most situations. But he didn’t need it. He didn’t want it. In his already vulnerable state, it seemed almost mocking.
And she was still trying. “But Hange----”
Levi banged one hand on the table in warning. “Petra,” he said. “Just stop.”
An abrupt slam on the table had always been enough to quiet people and Petra shouldn’t have been an exception.
In a surprising turn of events, she slammed harder on the table. “No, listen to me Levi.” Her voice was much firmer and at that moment, it didn’t seem like she had regard for differences in positions.
In shock, Levi fell silent and he was compelled to listen to that voice of authority.
“I came here for a reason.” She dropped her laptop on the table, almost louder than the slam she made just a second ago. “We got a support email which you might want to see. This is the reason I went here in the first place.” Petra quickly booted up her laptop. “It’s a support ticket, and the email...it looks like Hange’s.”
A quick look at the date only confirmed it, it had been there for a week. There was a flyer attached which only sealed its fate as spam mail. Of course, it would have taken weeks to identify it.
But why would Hange use that email? At first glance, Levi couldn’t help but be suspicious.
“It looks like it’s related to Mr. Jaeger’s convention. He’s having one and I thought, you might wanna check it out… If you have unfinished business with Hange, use that opportunity to talk to her.”
It could be spam mail. It wasn’t that hard to create a fake email using Hange Zoe’s name but it was still worth some looking into. A quick google search only confirmed it. Zeke was having an event in one of the most expensive cities in the world, a coastal city a twelve hour flight away.
Still, Levi couldn’t brush off the doubt. Would Hange have used an email with her name? After taking so much of her precious time creating fake emails?
“If this is really her, then that means she wanted to contact us right?” Petra continued. “I think it’s worth a look.”
Maybe all he needed was someone to tell him, a good push in the right direction. Before Levi even realized it, his mind was working harder than ever since the incident three weeks ago, working overtime to justify something as ridiculous as a last minute week-long vacation.
If Hange did send the email, it might be worth it. And if by some chance, it really was spam, then he will have just wasted a good week-long vacation in ‘one of the most dazzling cities in the world.’
Levi could count with the number of fingers in one hand, the amount of times he had been in a long haul flight. The prices for a hotel, a last minute flight and of course, the leaves needed to make the trip were all daunting issues to consider.
He had expected himself to be at least a little more hesitant. A part of him was moving almost automatically. He stood up and slammed his laptop shut. “I think I’m gonna take a week long leave.”
“Since I joined, you haven’t even taken a sick leave. I think you deserve this,” Petra responded. And that peaceful response from her of all people had been reassuring.
“Thanks for that.”
Petra shook her head. “It’s only natural to wish the best for someone right?” She paused, and a weak blush climbed up her cheeks as she bit her lip. “Well, I meant the best for you and Hange. Just see what you can do for her.”
Levi let out a sigh. “But it helps you know.”
And somehow, those kind words had only left Petra more flustered. In thanks, he offered to take her back to her work station, but not much farther than that. He made a quick stop to his still cluttered office, did some quick cleaning up, leaving the white board and Hange’s own work station still untouched, like it has been everyday since three weeks ago.
He went home early that day and as expected, his brain continued to nag.
Was it a useless move? A stupid move? A rash move? Maybe it was. But he wasn't going to tell anyone else, just in case someone managed to convince him out of it.
Levi had taken some precautions. He emailed back, only to get no response. He did some research on the flyer. The event came with different names, trade shows, networking events.
With the objective of bringing together the largest names in neighboring countries… We aim to optimize production, bring about the best quality… Seminars, business dinners, product demonstrations etc.
The words blurred together slowly and before Levi knew it, he couldn’t make sense of it at all. It wasn’t important anyway. What seemed more urgent was the schedule of events right under the spiel.
It was a five day conference and it had already started the night before. Levi opened up his leave credits, still completely full. Most years, it had remained untouched until the end of the year.
He opened up his own bank account. He didn’t have much but he still had more than enough to take that particular risk. And when he contacted Erwin about it, the latter seemed almost excited he was taking a leave.
By some sorcery, he got the one week leave, tagged as emergency leaves. The next afternoon, less than 24 hours after that meeting with Petra, Levi was already in the airport, overnight bag over one shoulder.
He was going on an adventure, some stupid, impulsive and potentially pointless adventure.
***
The guilt never abated. There was something almost surreal, yet seemingly audacious about taking a last minute long leave, after spending years working non stop.
Would anyone understand it? The more Levi thought about it, the more he realized, he didn’t understand it himself. So by some twists and turns of logic, Levi guessed nobody would understand.
He had books he could have read on the plane. There was an inflight entertainment system.
Still shaken by that one week long life, Levi ended up booting up his laptop and spending a huge chunk of the time reviewing pull requests on the flight. Time started to pass like how it used to in the office.
As expected, he got tired four hours in. Losing energy reserves midday in the office was a very unwelcome experience but something Levi never seemed to completely avoid. It was a very familiar experience that the next few steps had been much easier.
He pulled out the codes, his own personal project folder on his desktop, he stared at the files of codes yet to be merged to the original plan.
Then he started to organize his thoughts. Before he knew it, his fingers were flying over the keyboard.
It could have been some reminder, or just some attempt at shoehorning reason to his impulsive decision to cross the ocean on a last minute vacation. But the more Levi let his brain nag, the more he started to justify. The longer he justified, the sooner he just accepted.
Who cared if anyone else found it sappy. He needed closure.
Then and there, it seemed like closure meant articulating the plans of his own personal project, ideas that had been exchanged that fateful night in some empty playground, ideas that only built and built themselves until they were rows of codes yet to be tested or executed.
Maybe closure was getting the plans for the emotions alarm to Hange.
And as Levi continued to type, he realized, he had a clear idea on how he wanted it to work. Articulating it, planning it into something Hange would have understood was not too much of a tall order.
Connect the emotion alarm to a dashboard… plans on how to quantify emotions, moods… Colors, emotions, suggestions.
Newfound energy had Levi tirelessly working over that plan the whole long haul flight, creating diagrams, appending it with his own notes and suggestions. They were still empty spaces, questions and question marks, space which Hange would have been more qualified to fill herself.
After looking at it once then twice, reading out loud softly too himself the parts that hadn’t made too much sense, Levi scrolled back up and typed four words on the upper left.
Working Title: Mood Alarm.
Hange would probably argue semantics, how moods were a lot more temporary than emotions. And Levi was imagining some outrageous argument in his head and his own responses which would never see the light of day. He stayed staunch with his decision. Unless, Hange could come up with anything more catchy, it would stay.
And that fake argument, had been enough for him to relax. He lowered his laptop screen then reclined his seat and stared out the window. It was still a light blue but there were already hints of purple and pink just straight ahead.
The sun would set soon but only for a few hours. One quick calculation told him, it wouldn’t ever be late at night. Once he arrived at his destination, it would still be day and he would have to adjust quickly.
Tucking his laptop away, he allowed himself a few hours of sleep and he had been lucky to have slept long enough to wake up to a pilot’s message about flying over the city then a good view of unfamiliar landscapes just outside the window.
Levi spent those last few minutes before landing, tracing the skyline, counting the number of tiny boxes that dotted the greens, just inches away from clusters of green, white, silver, then flashes of other colors, too many colors to count.
It was an expensive city. He didn’t need Google to tell him that. Everyone knew it as a city only for the filthy rich. He could imagine Zeke having a house or an apartment there, maybe even two. And he made some guesses of which one Zeke could have owned among the larger ones by the beach. Then he made a much longer reflection of just one Yes or No question.
Would Hange been there? He was still too high up to distinguish humans on the outdoor balconies from tricks of light. Still he pretended that she was on one of the balconies over looking the ocean.
The plane got lower and lower, the houses were starting to look more like houses than little tiny boxes. Close enough, Levi was starting to see the glamour of the city, he was starting to see the glowing characteristics which made it a first choice for the ultra rich.
Sparkling blue ocean, only peppered by speed boats and yachts moored at the docks. From inland, mountain ranges formed crescents and worked with the coast to outline the borders of the cities from miles around.
By some type of magic, the landscapes surrounding it had managed to make the dazzling city its own world. Levi begrudgingly gave some credit to the rich for seeing potential in such a breathtaking view.
Just before the coast were tall buildings among shorter buildings and they were lined up on the flat lands, touching one end of the mountain range then the other. Some were hotels, others were casinos, a few of them were malls. Parks were clustered among the buildings, yet they seemed out of place. They were like some shoddily formed assurance that the city wasn’t out to get any tourist’s money.
Levi was seeing differently. The struggle he went into booking a hotel was already a prelude to whatever he would be dealing with. He silently patted his wallet at his back pocket as the pilot’s final instructions sounded over the whole plane.
"Cabin crew prepare for landing."
And all the passengers had been excited to leave. The plane soon slowed to a stop. Even before the seatbelt sign went off, Levi was already hearing the click of seatbelts. Then everyone filed out of their seats, pulling out luggages from the overhead compartment.
Levi was one of the last few out of the plane. Yet with his lack of check-in luggage, he was still one of the first out of the airport.
Nothing could have completely prepared him for the abrupt shift from dry autumn to a wet perpetual summer. He was greeted by some faint smell of the ocean, almost stifling warmth in the middle of October, and very very humid air that stuck to his skin. Unfamiliar sensations on skin, unfamiliar scents and an unfamiliar language that only blurred into nonsense when they made their way into his ears.
It was a new world, a new adventure, Levi would have never taken under any other circumstances. And maybe that had been the reason why the rush of guilt came back when he allowed himself to marvel over the views, the first hand experience of standing close proximity, breathing the same air of that city he had only ever read about books, or seen in the news.
Levi took a deep breath, pulled off his autumn jacket almost violently.
Then he reminded himself again. If he didn’t find her, he’d still be okay. If he didn’t find her, then that trip will just have been a break.
A well-deserved break.
***
According to reception, his hotel was conveniently located just a five minute distance from the convention center. According to his maps application, it was ten minutes away. Levi though, had taken one hour to make his way there
There were hidden paths that weaved through allies and the occasional mall entrances and exits and maybe that had been what reception had been referring to when they mentioned shortcuts.
Levi walked quickly through them at first before he opened up to a larger road. When his surroundings were more open, when his vision stretched far beyond the narrow walls of the alleys, he thought one of the most beautiful cities in the world to be worth a few detours.
Anyway, he had found the signs were all pointing towards the hybrid building that doubled as a hotel and convention center. It might have been the grandest building all around.
He scanned his surroundings, trying to connect his own view from the plane to his own surroundings. Unable to conjure a very clear and accurate picture of what had come above, he couldn’t confirm whether it had been the grandest building around.
It wasn’t too important anyway.
It seemed like the city was on some journey to prove itself to him. Every path, road, alleyway, shopping street and even the interiors of the mall were all different levels of grand. And they all didn’t disappoint, especially to someone who barely even left his home city.
Clean finishings, newly paved roads, cobble stoned streets and red brick roads all seemed to come straight out of the sappiest rags to riches movies.
One cruel truth though Levi soon found out—and had been expecting anyway—was that everything came with a price.
Of course, it would. But Levi hadn’t embedded that truth deep enough inside him to be able to completely stifle his surprise at the price of bottled water, then the price of a late breakfast. They were all prices Levi would have never considered paying for one meal’s worth of food. So he settled for fast food. And he was sure, he would be eating fast food for every single meal until he flew back home.
Eating burger meals worth twice or thrice what he would have gotten at home was still a harrowing experience. He was on that constant in between state, naturally bitter at the ridiculous cost of living yet still forcing himself to savor those few bites of a sandwich.
And he found some inkling of a distraction just staring out the window, watching the crowds go by as he consumed his brunch slowly.
Then, he noticed, he never stopped thinking about her. She had always been somewhere in his mind, still close enough to the front that a flash of brown hair, a messy pony tail or even a pair of glasses among the crowds were enough to have him eyes wide, chewing slower than usual.
In one quick impulsive move, Levi dropped the burger, pulled out his phone and activated the love alarm.
Just in case.
He put on his earphones, then his baseball cap over it. He finished his food much faster then exited the store.
The love alarm didn't ring as he weaved through the crowds. He put his cap lower on over his face, keeping himself unrecognizable.
So, it shouldn't ring for anyone if anyone can't see me right.
That was expected behavior at least. And Levi was just laying trust on some belief that if Hange was nearby, two things might happen. If Hange hadn’t cleared her alarm history and her alarm would recognize his. Or, even if she used a new account, she would recognize him with a baseball cap covering half his face, and it would still ring.
That was assuming she still used her love alarm.
It was a very small chance and Levi was completely aware of it. So he made his way to the convention center, taking note of the signs with the names plastered on them, with arrows guiding him through shopping streets.
Levi didn't mind the detours, more crowds to attempt to look through. When he finally arrived at the hotel entrance though, he found he was tired and a little grumpy.
With the words at the front mentioning Zeke Jaegers name as a keynote speaker though, he had gained some newfound hope, Hange might just be nearby.
He had done the research at least. There was a visitor's price. There was a guest book.
There would be people selling him medical equipment, the latest medical technology and the drugs, supply chains, just the latest lingo, Levi never bothered to learn.
And he got those business vernacular in slow, stilted opportunities, so separated from one another that he never made sense of them.
He was there for one reason. Hange. So it wasn't too difficult to feign purpose, maybe even pretend that he had a few million dollars resting in his bank account for an investment.
There was a map, the names of some of the companies were in languages he was only familiar with by appearance. It was name recall that saved him then, he saw a few of Zeke's hospitals show up in the convention map. Forming a path in his head, he dove into his crowds, clutching his phone harder, readjusting his earphones.
No ringing. And he couldn’t help but feel a strange emotion, a mix between disappointment and relief. It was quiet and somehow he liked it that way. Yet, that only meant that Hange wasn’t nearby.
But leads to Hange were a good second best option. “Levi--- Mr. Ackerman?”
“Ms. Finger,” Levi greeted.
If Pieck knew anything about the incident at the school, she didn’t make it obvious. She was all business at that convention, decked up in business attire, fliers and a product handbook on the desk right in front of her,
She made her way closer to him, letting out a hand to raise and before Levi could even mirror that same movement, someone cut in between them.
“May I help you?”
Levi could have sworn he had never met that man in front of him. Yet the man was looking at him suspiciously, out of character for someone in a suit and flyers.
Pieck pushed past him."Porco, I'll handle this. So, what brings you here?"
Levi had to play his cards well. "I wanted to talk…" to Zeke? Or to Hange? Which was the better name to bring up?
Pieck nodded at him, an inquisitive look on her face. "To talk…"
"Business…"
"What kind of business? You could relay it through your manager right?"
"it's about the app we're developing." He had his laptop with him then, and only the motion of his laptop to his front albeit had Pieck lighting up.
Of course it would, Pieck had been one of his fans when he had first demo-ed the emotions alarm in the hospital just a few months back.
"You've been planning improvements."
Levi gave a light nod. "I've created plans to further improve the efficacy of the application. I was hoping to talk to Zeke about it, or if he's too busy, Hange." He hoped he had used the right jargon.
Pieck had seemed uncertain there. Yet her eyes had darted to his laptop enough times for Levi to see that she was interested, that somehow she had held a stake in those final products.
"If you want me to show it…" Levi was about to drop his bag and pull it out.
That is, if Peke hadn't stopped him then. "Don't trouble yourself," she said. "But, you wouldn't find Zeke here for most of the day. He only shows up for the business dinners but they're on an invitation basis. I can try asking around, we have a few employees who could ask Zeke."
"If you could tell me where Hange is…"
And that was where things got slightly complicated and somehow Levi suspected from the way Pieck had avoided his gaze yet at the same time, Porco had flashed him with a glare, there was something they knew that he didn't.
Pieck spoke up. "Hange huh? Haven't seen her since the convention started. Even during the days leading up to the convention, she was in and out, more than we could even remember."
"She's unpredictable. Don't think you're going to find her here," Porco added.
"But if you could contact her yourself?" Pieck looked at him pointedly.
"Unpredictable huh?" Levi wasn't all too surprised that they would call her unpredictable. And they had said it with a hint of animosity on both their voices, a tone which very much said 'dont bother', or maybe, ‘contacting Zeke might be the better option."
Levi, though, saw a challenge in that unpredictability. If he played his cards right, he might even find predictability in it.
At the least, he managed to let out a light greeting of thanks before he pulled out of the crowds then past the entrance of the stifling convention.
Levi still kept a copy of a program, taking note of keynote speakers among them. Hange wasn't in any of them so his thoughts flew quickly out of the convention, only rooted there somehow by that offer from Pieck to get him in touch with Zeke's executive team.
No help at all with finding Hange. But Levi couldn't help but just think that their actions may have been calculated. Once again, Levi was groveling about the stiffness of the world of politics and artificial corporate pleasantries.
When that became too stressful, his thoughts went back to Hange.
Hange was unpredictable, in a predictable way. And Levi was sure as long as he strode through the town with some purpose, he could make sense of that 'chaos' she always seemed to exude.
That night, he approached it with some careful premeditation, while considering as well that he was still suffering from jet lag.
He scanned through maps, aerial photos, then pictures from taken from high points in the city. He let his eyes trace over the coasts, then the beaches, the affluent areas close proximity to the beach that strategically overlooked the bluest parts of the ocean. Then he noted a less affluent area that brushed the other side of the mountain.
Focusing on the smaller houses, almost hidden by the iconic skyline, he asked himself, would Hange be there? He didn't have a straight answer but he wouldn't put it past her. Besides, any sense of adventure had started to become a little more welcome.
There was truth to it, Hange was unpredictable. But the predictability to it was, Hange was so unpredictable, she was memorable. He was sure if he would ask about the brunette, someone would know.
If Hange acted like the Hange, he knew, someone might recognize her. Someone in a simple community in a country thousands of miles away from his own, wouldn't know Hange Zoe as anything more than some eccentric brunette.
And maybe that was where he was supposed to start.
The next morning, he bought a bus ticket and he had been lucky enough to even get an opportunity to sit. After all, no one actually visited that city for the locals.
It was almost a half an hour bus away form the city center, and houses by the coastline were getting further apart until Levi reached a point where cabanas were made of simple wood, paths were etched lightly on the ground.
Levi disembarked at one of the more simpler bus stops for miles around, and it didn't look like the bus passed there often.
But maybe it was better that way.
Untouched Nature, free nature is a beautiful thing. Nature once again at its rawest form, at its most candid, not flaunting its best parts for the rich to admire.
And Levi was seeing beauty in the candid.
There were a few local kids, wading by, speaking a language Levi didn't understand and for a second, Levi just stood, breathing in the sour air of some untouched beach. It differed a lot from the beach thirty minutes away. There was no music playing in the background, no strobe lights and Levi concluded one thing.
Hange would have enjoyed this.
Levi would bet money that if Hange did have the freedom to run around, she might have been there. The houses around the area were of a simple kind, so far apart, that Levi had to walk thousands of steps just to get from one to the other. He traced the coastline as he walked, far enough from the shores to keep his feet dry but still close enough that he felt the moist sand squish from underneath him. He was following some path back the way he came, towards the skyline, he noted there were bars among them, seemingly affordable bars, maybe catering to locals.
Levi entered to find chaos. Men in a group playing some possible version of mahjong with rocks, others playing chess and others playing cards with rocks as currencies.
And he was more convinced Hange would have joined them if she had the freedom to move around.
So he took the risk. "Do you get foreigners here often?"
And maybe the word ‘foreigner’ or the word ‘often’ had been unfamiliar to the bartender.
He looked questioningly at Levi but it didn't look like he was completely lost. He turned the younger bartender who looked back at Levi. "May I help you sir?" he asked with a thick yet still very intelligible accent.. Levi suspected he had worked in the city center before.
"Foreigners...do you get a lot here?" Levi was slow at first.
"A few. May I ask why?" And he was starting to suspect the man worked in service.
It looked like the man didn't need the quick adjustments though, so Levi continued. "I'm looking for someone…"
The local gestured for him to go on.
And just like that, Levi found out Hange's predictability. All he needed was some subtle gesture, some consideration, that maybe it would have been best to approach the men hustling chess players by the side, or the other men playing some version of mahjong.
It was just a quick flick of his head towards the gamblers as he tried to find the right words to say.
And the man in front of him figured it out. "Glasses? Brown wavy hair?"
"She likes playing games. She plays here?" Levi asked, just for some confirmation, some proof that he wasn't socially engineering anyone.
The younger man looked at the bartender. The latter broke out into a smile. "Hange?" he said with a thick accent. He let out a laugh then turned to Levi almost suspiciously.
Levi nodded quickly. "Yes, Hange." Hänge Zoe. Should he say her last name?
The bartenders said something to the English speaking local. There was a brief exchange between them and the bartender pointed at Levi.
"Her hair is always messy," Levi said, he put his hands at the back of his head, mimicking the messy way she tied her hair up. "She always wins games. She's very smart. And sometimes, she'd just go out to the beach and she'd get lost in the view."
The two locals look towards each other, their faces suddenly unreadable.
They knew something Levi didn't and Levi knew he was punching blindly just making quick guesses of what Hange would have done. The specificities could also mean they escorted him out with new information.
Yet, somehow, it seemed those descriptions worked. They both smiled, exchange a few words.
"She plays. She wins---"
Levi smiled. "And let me guess, she doesn't keep the money?" And when he saw the grins of the two men widen, he made another guess. "And she gives the money away?"
The man dropped his shoulders and put one hand out in greeting. "What do you need?"
"I wanna see her--- No, I wanna talk to her. Do you know where I can find her?"
"She doesn't tell us where she's going too."
The bartender said something just behind the younger man and the latter's expression changed. They were both pointing at something, seemingly hypothetical, then drawing something with their fingers.
The younger man then continued in English. "I'll take you out."
"Wha--" Levi never had time to finish.
The man guided him out.
At first Levi wondered what he did wrong. The man didn't seem to carry any animosity. He seemed almost excited. "She likes going there," he said with some level of certainty.
There. Initially, it had been difficult to figure out where 'there' was. Following the direction of his finger with his gaze was almost a tall order. But there was only one place from that angle which boasted any level of significance.
He was pointing high up to mountain ranges and from his place by the coast, on the other side of the city, maybe he could make out a small tower that peeked out over the green.
"She likes high places," the man said.
"She told you that?" Levi shifted his grin to something certain then he nodded. "Thank you, I'll check it out."
And that tower peeking out of the mountains was identifiable with just an easy google search, expected from one of the most tourist friendly places in the world.
A tower observatory huh? Was it be open to the public? Sources said yes. What did Hange enjoy there? Levi had an inkling of an answer but he might have to see to it to be sure.
While waiting for the bus back to the city center, he consolidated his clues. Pieck had told him to wait for a message from someone named Yelena. If he couldn't talk to Hange, he could talk to Zeke.
Still, he was covering his bases with Hange but he was a little messy with it. It was all a matter of fate, some inkling of what kind of person Hange would be.
But what would he know about Hänge?
Even on the empty bus on the way back, he left his love alarm on, earphones propped comfortably in his ears.
In the bus it didn't ring but when Levi was weaving through the busiest streets, changing from the city bus to the bus leading up the mountain, it may have rung a few times. And Levi only started to become aware, a few incidents in, that every single time he had stopped, then he would scan the crowds.
One flash of brown hair, sometimes it would show up red under direct streams of light. A bird's nest tied up in a half pony tail or just a very messy one. Or maybe that low voice, which seemed to shift to something shrill almost immediately when excited.
There was only one person he would have wanted his Love Alarm to ring for. So Levi, lowered his cap over his face, boarded a bus and made the journey to the mountain.
***
He didn't go back to the convention center anymore. A long list of programs and keynote speakers only confirmed it, it was a roadshow on business ventures more than research.
But Hange likes business right? Hange likes medicine? Or she might even be wedges among the crowds of tourists among the snazzier casinos, just playing. He then considered playing just to check it out and maybe ask around.
And when Levi was weighing options, he realized Hange was somewhat unpredictable. He was at the mercy of fate, luck and a few well thought out guesses.
So he treated it like some challenge, a challenge he could very much fail. But he would get a better chance of running into her, if he kept to one place.
He picked the summit of the mountain and he parked there for the next few days, laptop bag in hand, sweatshirt over his boardshorts. There was a cafe only a few blocks from the tower with a good view of the main street leading up to the observatory.
And Levi only had to be there a few days to realize, it was off-season and it was off-season for a reason. It was the time of the year, when the weather by the road was a fickle bitch.
That day, the rain was on and off. The northern winds blew strong and Levi almost wished he had brought his autumn jacket. Yet it never was cold or windy enough to be certain it was worth lugging around.
The sweatshirt had been a golden alternative and he found the hood had a dual purpose. Enough, to hide his face so he could keep his love alarm on without receiving too many alarms. And enough to keep him safe from the blinding wind that came with climbing high elevations.
Levi abandoned the baseball cap, instead keeping the hood low over his face. He made himself at home in that cafe that overlooked the main road towards the visitor's center and a platform with a good view of the city. He picked a spot right next to the window. He only had to turn left, to get a peek, yet he was in a good enough position that if anyone looked back, he only had to lean back to be concealed by the opaque wall.
Levi was taking stupid risks. Did she clear her cache? Did she even still use the app? Any of those miniscule decisions would have been enough for Levi to come home empty ended. Yet, they were highly probable decisions. After all, why would Hange want to keep the application after the fiasco months ago. He started to even entertain the possibility that maybe Hange wasn’t even using her phone as often anymore. She hadn’t replied to texts, responded to calls and her number was also out of service.
Everything was against him, every single probability. Everything had been against him since the start anyway so it was much easier to stomach such circumstances.
Levi made for himself an ultimatum. He only had until his flight back, three days after, to talk to Hange.
If he is not able to find her, he goes home empty handed. He cooperates with the transferring of assets, the finalization of the contract. He scraps his own personal project, the colors, the attempt to quantify emotions and the dashboard.
At the least, he tried. He responded to that ticket. He tried to contact her, he tried to look for her. Hell, he was even contacting Zeke, personal pride and corporate processes be damned.
Surprisingly, instead of leaving him more desolate, the high stakes, all against him, had only sent a surge of motivation through him.
Maybe helplessness could do that to people. Or maybe he just couldn’t believe for himself that losing could be such a probable outcome.
Levi turned up the volume of his phone, scanned the crowds just outside the shop. It was off season, the weather was dark and gloomy so it wasn’t too difficult to even count the number of tall lanky brunettes who could have remotely been Hange. And he probably wasted more than enough time looking closely at each one, before accepting that twinge of disappointment every time they looked back revealing an unfamiliar face.
He never failed to remind himself how stupid of a plan it was. In the end, his best option really was to wait for a message from Yelena. Even if he would have preferred to discuss the plans with Hange himself, without that monkey as an intermediary.
When the disappointment accumulated, becoming too much to bear, Levi opened his laptop again, checked his work trackers, then his own project but he always made sure to look out, in between lines of code, or in between tickets or pull requests.
Just in case. Just in case, one of the brunettes was Hange.
When his love alarm finally rang, Levi had been reviewing a pull request. The surprise lasted for a second, the horror at realizing if that person hadn’t opened their love alarm, he wouldn’t have noticed her, lasted a little longer.
But he couldn’t be too sure it was her. She had on a cap, her hair tied up on a high ponytail. It was wavy and untamed, yet bunched up in such a way that maybe even her hair felt stifled. The ponytail swung wildly with even the slightest movement of her head.
And she was moving a lot, head bent down at first, looking at her phone, then at two kids next to her.
She was part of a tour group and those kids didn’t seem like hers. The alarm stopped for a while, and Levi used that short rest to check the schedule of the convention he had downloaded just yesterday. There was a tour that day. So it could be her.
Still, he couldn’t be too sure. His alarm rang again. Then when he was watching closely, he saw her jaw drop, he saw her explain something to the kids. Then she started to scan her surroundings and when Levi used that flash when their eyes met for just a second, he suspected.
But maybe their eyes haven’t met. She was wearing sunglasses.
And there was still a good chance it wasn’t Hange. But from her reaction, from the reaction of the kids, then the way she poked at her phone and the way the heart just suddenly disappeared then appeared then disappeared from his phone within few second lags, Levi decided it was a risk worth taking.
He continued to stare. And the brunette continued to scan her surroundings. She bent over, said something to both kids, then patted one on the head. And she turned around, looking through the cafe window.
And Levi turned off his own alarm, leaning back on the chair, just far back enough to hide.
What was he scared of? It looked like she could have been scared too. She didn’t bother to come nearer, or to even crane her neck to see just behind the wall right next to the window. She shook her head, a half smile played at her lips. And she walked away from the cafe, back to the tour group.
A disappointing turn of events. And Levi was scolding himself. It almost seemed surreal to even find Hange there, after losing contact with her for months. But he couldn’t be too sure that it was her. And how many times had he repeated it to himself.
Heart beating wildly, Levi let out a wretched sigh and slammed his laptop close, loud and hard enough to jarr him and even his closest neighbors. Who cared anyway? He continued to stare at Hange, and just for some level of security, just in case his emotions took more control than he allowed, he put the hood of his sweat shirt over his head, zipped it up a little higher over his neck and stared out.
She was talking to the tour guide. The tour guide shook his head, then pointed just above him.
Grey skies. Levi understood gesticulations enough to get that part.
The tour guide then pointed at the cafe then at the shopping streets but maybe she wasn’t listening anymore. She turned to the sky and Levi followed her gaze to see that she was probably looking at the tower, the base was visible from his view but even when he bent his head to the side, he couldn't make out the top. He made it a game for himself, he craned his neck, just to see how far up he could make out from his comfortable seat in the cafe.
Then eventually, he gave up, yet the brunette was still looking up, her head hung back, almost freely. Her mouth a thin line. And it was only when Levi heard the loud murmurs, took note of the sudden shift of the cafe atmosphere from peaceful to bustling, did he realize she had been left all alone.
The whole tour group was inside the shop.
Except her. She walked ahead. And if Levi were right, and that was her, he might as well follow. For the first time in a while, he wasn’t coiling the charger of his laptop before stuffing it into his bag. He wasn’t placing it hinge first into his bag. He stuffed everything, leaving chaos in his wake.
But he didn’t have much time anyway. Besides, cafe was starting to get too crowded for comfort. He exited the shop, and she was still in view, for just long enough for Levi to make out, that she had turned a corner.
If a part of him wanted to hesitate, if a part of him was holding him back, he didn’t let it take over. He didn’t have much time to consider the situation either. After all, she was moving fast and the winds were enough of an adversary already. So he ran, holding his laptop bag close to his side. He was grateful, he had at least tightened the hood of his sweatshirt.
The corner she turned on, opened up to a smaller cobblestone road, and at the end of it was the entrance of the tower. She opened the door with the sign ’authorized personnel only’, and she didn’t come back out.
Many feet behind her, but still unperturbed, Levi followed behind. The first floor was wide, and it acted as shelter, an ante room to a visitor’s center maybe, and there was a small open room to the side. A rope acted as some weak barricade to the entrance with a sign hanging in front.
Closed due to weather conditions
Uncertainty was another adversary. He turned to the glass door of the visitor’s center. He could look for her there. After a small peak through the glass, he realized if he went through there, he might just get a little self conscious, he might just hesitate to even climb over the rope.
In the slow few seconds that followed, Levi considered several things.
If she wanted to go to the visitor’s center, she would have gone through the main door. If she were Hange, it wouldn’t be too outrageous to imagine her climbing over a rope or even opening an ‘authorized personnel only’ door. And the more he thought about it, the more he realized, the bartender was right, his own instinct could be right.
Hange loved adventure. Hange loved freedom.
And as he stepped over the rope, then entered the hollow area where the spiral staircase climbed endlessly, he realized, his instincts, his decision might have just been right.
The footsteps echoed loudly, bouncing one end to the other over the hollow walls. Even when he couldn’t make out movements, just staring above him, towards the dizzying top, he made out the echoes.
And that could be Hange.
Or it could be an illusion. Levi added a second later, as he started the journey up the spiral staircases, the laptop bag dangling precariously on his side. He was dealing with too many sounds at once, and they all echoed in the narrow room, that Levi couldn’t be too sure if her footsteps had been his own imagination.
Still, he climbed.
Hundreds or maybe even thousands of steps in, it became an issue of sunk costs. The rubber soles of his shoes on the metal, the slap of his laptop bag on his side. And the few times he looked back, the few times he allowed himself to slow down, he heard an echo, unfamiliar footsteps, the shoes not his own.
A few times, he tried to go faster, just to beat the sound. When he sprinted up steps, losing count along the way, he remembered he had to conserve energy. The sounds were blurring against each other anyway.
So he settled for a quick jog. The monotony that came with jogging had him thinking, the spiral case really was endless. He wondered how many feet he had climbed.
A few times, it was tempting to run. A few other times, it was tempting to walk. A few times, he wondered how nice it would be to be able to fly, just float all the way down like a bird. Soon enough, he was high enough that just looking down made him dizzy, left his stomach turning.
He started to focus on what was ahead anyway, even when it was all just some predictable pattern of stairs and stone walls. Along the way, maybe he had started to lose feeling in his legs, just like he lost track of the echoes, or maybe she had just stopped climbing altogether.
Close to the top, there was a platform that led to a doorway. And Levi only had to push open, to be greeted again by winds. Suddenly they were coming in all directions at once, enough for Levi to put both his hands over his eyes. Enough to have him bending his knees, trudgling forward, one step at a time.
He was at the top of the tower, the highest point for miles around. When he got his bearings, started to accept the wind as an inevitable companion, he had managed to sprint forward, lean his elbows on the arm railings and look forward, at the magnificent view that stretched past the hotels, the shopping malls and the casinos.
The mountains beyond that and just next to them, the empty beaches, the local communities.
A few times, he closed his eyes, allowing them some reprieve from the harsh winds. And around the time, when he started to notice the grey sky, the streams of light that seemed to let bright colors glimmer, the few parts of the land they touched, he easily remembered why he had been there in the first place.
Of course, Hange enjoys this.
He looked around him once. Then twice, just in case the first time had been a trick from his tired eyes. She wasn’t around. Then he started to question himself.
Is she really here? Or were the echoes of footsteps just an illusion?
Was he going crazy?
It could have been from the strong winds, or the crushing disappointment, but around that time, he found it difficult to breathe. He felt tears prickle in his eyes. He swallowed once, and that had been enough to keep his face unmoving.
He looked back at the view, then at the grey sky above, the streams of light that were only getting smaller as dark clouds hovered over the city, then at the neon lights that only started to glow brighter with each stream of light that disappeared.
The wind started to blow harder, the trees down below rustled, creating their own glimmer of green, all dancing at once. Then he looked up at the ocean, the waves only getting larger, as the direction of the winds started to become unpredictable.
Sometimes, his hood was pressing harder towards the back of his head. Sometimes, it pushed from the front, blowing his bangs out of his face. It was chilling his cheeks, forcing the salty yet very sour scent of the ocean through his nose, then his half open mouth.
The wind brought with it many things at once, utter chaos, in separated parts. Most Levi couldn’t even understand.
I love you. At first, he thought it to be the whistle of the wind. Then a second later, he decided that he was just going crazy.
Then the wind stopped for just a second, the whistle, the blowing deadened into nothing for just a few seconds.
A few seconds enough.
“I love you!”
A few seconds long enough for Levi to trace the voice to a strange location, above him, yet behind him. He traced it to the brunette, cap still propped snugly on her head, her ponytail swinging from left to right.
Her sunglasses were off, she stood balanced on one of the lower rungs of the rail. There were still a few streams of sunlight left, yet they shone on Hange, bright enough for Levi to see red, in her ponytail, to see those roundish hazel eyes, those cheekbones and hint of pink in them.
Red. For a while it looked like a fire, the smell of the sea tickled his nose, then a wave of horror. Then loss?
See you later, Hange.
She stood there, meters above him, far enough for Levi to still doubt yet still close enough that with a longer look, Levi accepted, he was obliged to believe it.
It was Hange. The longer he looked at her, the more certain he became, the more money he would have put into such a wild conjecture.
But what the hell are you doing here?
Comprehension was a slow process, muddled by surprise, disbelief and confusion at his own reaction. Impatient, Levi had exited the spiral staircase to a platform a few meters below the top, while she had climbed all the way up. That left them in two completely different floors, two completely different platforms, a good distance away from each other.
And it didn’t look like she noticed him.
Then who are you talking to?
She continued to look straight ahead. She took a deep breath then screamed again.
I love you.
The wind caressed his face again and the words came again as a whisper.
The few times Levi opened his mouth, he noticed. When the wind was strong enough, the clearing of his throat, the grumbles didn’t come out as expected. As if the wind stole his words, and carried them away with it.
And the wind wouldn’t tell its secrets right?
Exhausted, terrified, confused then frustrated. Unwelcome tears threatening to force themselves out, Levi decided he was desperate for someone who’d listen but he he didn’t want anyone capable of judgement.
He took a deep breath. “I love you!” With the wind blowing in all the directions at once, his ears snug under his hood, it came out as a whisper. It was as if his body saw an opportunity for a cathartic release in the potential listener in the wind. Even as his throat burned, he screamed it again. “I love you!”
I love you. Hange’s voice seemed to ride with the wind, once again, he heard it as a whisper. Looking back up, Hange had dropped back on the platform, her two hands cupped her mouth. She dropped them and took a deep breath. She dropped her shoulders, then stared up at the sky, her head hung back. And she looked like she was about to collapse.
And maybe he looked the same way. He wanted to collapse too, with the weight over his shoulders, another, more deeply embedded exhaustion reared its ugly head.
But he wanted to hear the rest of it. He couldn’t be too sure who she had been talking too. Either way, he was sure it didn't change anything. Whether she felt the same way or not, love was love.
He took another deep breath. “I love you!” The wind was only getting stronger and once again, it snatched the words out of his mouth, his throat raw, almost burning. He didn't even know wind could burn until that moment, until he noticed the ache in his tongue.
Hange didn’t seem to notice. She still continued to stare straight ahead, then up at the sky. She put one hand over her eyes, wiping sweat. Or tears?
And maybe his mind suspected tears. And maybe tears were contagious. They came out unwillingly, as something that just welled at the rims.
And maybe if he just screamed again, they’ll force themselves back. “Hange Zoe.” He took a deep breath. “I love you!” He had been more strategic, letting it out a split second later, when the wind was whistling, almost screaming.
The wind might never take those words to her. But he didn’t seem to mind, the words had been for him more than anything.
Levi…. I love you...
The wind was strong enough, rain started to patter over the stone platform. And it became difficult to distinguish screams from the whistling of the wind. So Levi couldn’t be too sure. Still, he listened closely.
...In another life… Okay?
The rain was cold. The dampness pressed the hood closer to the back of his head, then the edge of his hood hung low over him, obscuring his view.
Yet the wind still found a way in, it first caressed his cheeks again, then tickled his lips as if forcing something out of him.
It goaded. It teased. And Levi had always been a sore loser, even if he never told anyone.
Alone, with no one there to hear him, but the wind, and Hange beyond ears reach, Hange who had barely noticed him, the words were forcing themselves out.
He looked back to see her standing, leaning closely over the railing. The strong rains, the ferocious winds had reduced her to a shadow.
And he was sure, she probably hadn't seen him.
Another surge of confidence. Then one deep breath. By some unexpected rush, Levi was starting to feel some strange anger. And Hange’s own staunch acceptance, the way she just gripped the railings and stared ahead, was only aggravating it.
“I don't wanna wait for any more next lives!” He let out a painful cough after that but even that didn’t penetrate the rumble, the pattern of the rain and the gusts of wind that surrounded him.
I want you. It was a weak whisper at first. Recovering from that last bout, Levi attempted once again. “I want you now.” Even when he couldn’t hear it himself, he felt it, the rawness in his throat, the anger that laced every single word. “Love is a choice right? Then I made my fucking choice! I want you! I want you now!” He wasn’t talking to anyone in particular, the figure hidden by a thin veil of rain.
The figure that eventually disappeared into the tower.
He eventually got tired of looking up. His neck ached, his vision started to blur and the hood hung damp over his face.
Levi only realized then, how much he had been holding in. In fact, it never felt all his to begin with. Cathartic releases weren’t all they were cracked up to be. Hell, Levi didn’t even notice how much had actually been released until he leaned back on the wall, until he realized, he didn’t mind at all being covered head to toe in water and dirt.
Humans were unpredictable. They were incomprehensible. And the moment that everything fell into place, Levi let it sink in.
He loved Hange. He wanted her. He wanted to be selfish about it.
“That’s what a choice is right? Doing what I want?” Levi whispered, making some sense of Hange’s own words, he mimicked her voice, her mannerisms as he said those first words. He then lowered his tone, into something more natural. “We’re not fucking robots Hange. We want things. We feel things.”
He didn’t need to tell her that. High up on the tower Hange had been screaming. He was certain of that. Hange had been leaning forward, she had been breathing hard.
She was feeling. She was human. She was free.
And Levi wondered why she had seemed so desperate, so eager to let something out, as if every other moment outside the tower had been stifling.
“That’s life married to a billionaire huh?”
He couldn’t blame her for screaming. HIs only little game of copycat had him exhausted too but somehow, by some sleight of hand, some magic, it had him calm, peaceful even under the strong patter of rain.
Articulating only made emotions all the more real. The signs that he hadn’t been the only one chasing blindly was reassuring.
And maybe that was all Levi wanted anyway, that was the final closure to that long game of cat and mouse. Levi turned to his soaked laptop bag, he maneuvered his way back inside the shelter. He zipped his bag open, let out a sigh of relief to see that the case had done its job to keep the laptop dry.
Then alone on the stairwell, he leaned on the wall, noted the sound of footsteps many feet below. He opened the laptop, then before even booting it, he closed it again and took a deep breath as one realization dawned on him in those slow steady movements.
In truth, he didn’t mind never showing the plans to Hange. Maybe he had just been looking for some excuse to see her, some attempt at closure.
“You got it,” he whispered to himself, hands cold and shaking even under the humid tropical air. “You can stop now…” But something inside him continued to lightly boil. “So what? Do we wait until the next life?”
Nobody answered.
He opened his phone, then his mood alarm. He already predicted the color on the screen.
Green. Happy sad? Or sad happy?
At that moment, Levi concluded, desire and acceptance could begrudgingly coexist.
***
Levi had no plans of going back to the convention. Yet, after that night, he had one more day left, one more day to check the city.
He did a quick google search, reading through long reviews on beaches, on the mountains, the hiking trails, the tower and the shopping street. None of them seemed interesting and Levi almost considered just curling up in bed on the last day and allowing himself to recover from the ordeal the night before.
And even if his mind had been willing him to find some other purpose. Levi found, as soon as the adrenaline rush ended, all he wanted to do was lie in bed. Only standing on two feet long enough to get him through a shower and curled into bed.
His mind was racing with other questions. Could Hange move? Was Hange moving? Was she walking? Was she talking? As if nothing happened? And the more he thought about it, the harder it became to move.
He slept through the night. By morning, he had enough strength, enough need for stimulation to pull his laptop closer. He ran his hand over the keyboard. It was fully dry. He realized he would rather wait a few more hours before opening it again.
He turned back to the ceiling. Rest. He whispered to himself. You don’t need to go out. You went on enough adventures to last a lifetime.
A fucking lifetime. It felt like sour graping. And Levi soon found himself admitting to sour graping. He would have wanted more adventures if it meant more time with Hange.
But real life didn’t work that way. Life expected people to decide on circumstances, never on emotions or actual thought.
So what’s the point of being fucking human then? Rejecting the world as a whole, made it easier to just roll over and nap again despite the light streaming through the window.
And Levi was in and out of sleep, the only view was the plain white walls of his hotel room, and whatever light reflected on it. Some natural need for stimulation had him jumping at the sound of the phone ringing.
Instinctively, he pulled his hand behind him, dragging the phone roughly from the side table.
An unknown number. Hange. The unwelcome part of him tried to rear its ugly head again. He put the phone to his ear. “Hello?” He kept his voice cold, just in case it was her, or wasn’t her.
“Mr. Ackerman?” An unfamiliar voice on the other end and Levi couldn’t tell if it was a man or a woman speaking.
“Speaking.”
“Ms. Finger told me about your request, about your plans for the Mood Alarm. I ran through it with Mr. Jaeger and he would be happy to host you for dinner, then for a private meeting in his suite."
“No need,” Levi said.
“No, he insists.”
“It’s not worth your time.”
“Mr. Ackerman, listen.” And the voice on the other end was firm. “Mr. Jaeger has invited you to dine with him. He took the time out of his busy schedule to do this. This is a formal invitation, if he is interested in your plans he will tell you himself.”
Levi didn't respond immediately. He couldn't think of much else to say yet.
“Will you dine with him?”
Levi put the phone in front of him, put it on speaker and just stared at the unknown number. Could this be a scam?
As if to answer his question, the person on the other line only continued. “We have added you to the guest list for the dinner tonight, just give your name to the reception at the hotel. Mr. Jaeger will see you there.”
And the person on the other end, did not give him time to protest. Levi thought it almost rude to call back, to even bother anyone over a decision that was just his to make.
Hours of contemplation later, Levi decided to just show up and lay low. Besides, what was the worst that could happen? He had already reached the point of acceptance the day before.

This ask made me go the humor route with the hcs I'm sorry -
And thank you, I will!! I hope you're doing the same, Dean!
-------------------------------------------------
Obey Me demon brothers reacting to MC making a whole-ass meal at 3am
Lucifer
Lucifer.exe has stopped working
First you skip dinner, and now you're eating at unholy hours of the morning??
On a school day???
11/10 disappointed and a little angry
"And just what do you think you're making at..." *checks his watch because he will not be caught looking anything but prim and proper* "...three in the morning?"
You stop stirring the pot, looking at him as if you were dead inside. Which, at three a.m., you were. "Mac n' cheese. There's chicken in the oven." You state bluntly. "You want any?"
Lucifer's a bit taken aback at your lack of formality with him, but he finds it...strangely endearing. With a sigh that pierced his very soul, he leaned against the counter next to you.
There's a twitch of his lips, as if he's trying hard to not smile. "I'll have to decline this time."
You drained the pot of noodles into the strainer, giving it a good few shakes as you eyed the oven. "So, next time then?"
He frowned, crossing his arms as he glared. "There won't be a next time, now will there?"
You gulped. You forgot exactly who you were talking to due to your stomach currently dying of agony, but his tone quickly reminded you. "Y-Yeah, there won't be! Promise!"
You were going to break that promise and he knew it. Opting to ignore it for now, he glanced at the oven as the aroma of chicken began to fill the kitchen. "Where did you even find a chicken, anyways?"
"I went to Hell's Kitchen with Beel to find out if they had human food. Asked them where they got it from, and how." You shrugged. "Process of deduction."
"I see..." Is all that he said, watching you flit around the kitchen to make yourself a plate. You cut the chicken, happily adding it to your pile of mac n' cheese.
"Beel, it's ready!" You call out, startling him a bit. He pinches his brow as the sound of footsteps rapidly approached the kitchen, a starry-eyed Beel making his own plate.
He really should've expected this.
"Please don't make this a habit, you two."
He'll let it slide for now, and punish you later on in the day. How could he tell you off when you looked so happy eating a human meal with one of his brothers?
Mammon
All he wanted was to grab a Devil Dew from the fridge. Seriously, that's it.
It was dark, so he flicked on the light switch and shrieked yelled once he saw you casually eating big ziti at the counter.
He has questions, but more importantly...
"What the devil are ya doing, eatin' in the dark?!"
You narrowed your eyes at him, jabbing your fork in his direction.
"Either turn off the light or grab some ziti. I made extra."
Well, it...did look good. It must've been human food from the package you had shipped to the House earlier.
“...Alright, human, but just this once!”
It does not become “just this once”
He took a seat next to you, piling some ziti onto his plate and taking a bite. To be honest, he had peeked into your room to see if you were still asleep and panicked once he saw no one inside, so he spent a solid five minutes running through the entire House to catch even a glimpse of you.
The frantic energy burnt made him thirsty, so he decided to take a break and come to the kitchen and holy shit this is actually really good -
“...Oi. What’s this made out of?”
- And that’s how he discovered his crippling addiction to cheese.
Seriously he’ll ask you if you’re making ziti whenever it’s your turn to cook
“Sorry if I startled you too bad.” You laughed quietly, watching as he scooped more onto his plate with an awed look in his eyes. “You like the ziti?”
A fork was shoved in your face, close to touching your nose. “The Great Mammon doesn’t get startled, ya hear? A-And yeah...this isn’t half-bad.”
Not gonna lie, you were a bit surprised when he actually sat down to eat ziti with you, but in the words of Beel: “Food always tastes better when you’re eating with friends.”
Even though he has the fattest crush on you but we don’t talk about that here
In the end, you smiled softly at him. “Then let’s do this again sometime.”
“Oh HELL YEAH!!” He cheered, and you knew that you couldn’t ever say no to him.
Especially not with what he added afterwards in a quieter voice.
“Just...make sure to eat dinner with all of us too, got it?”
Leviathan
“Is this like that one episode of Demfeed: Unsolved where they tried to put aggro on the spirits by eating their favorite dish at 3 in the morning?!”
You...hated that you knew what he was talking about. The two of you would watch that show whenever you were finished with an anime binge, and you were usually laughing at your own commentary (and theirs) than paying actual attention to the process of catching a ghost. Instead, you just slowly brought the spoon to your lips and slurped up some more cereal.
“...If I tell you yes, then will you turn off the light?”
You swear that you have never seen this shut-in otaku move that fast in your life. In one swift motion he flicked the light switch off, grabbing a turquoise bowl and pouring his own cereal.
He took a seat next to you, stars in his eyes as he began to eat.
“Let’s summon them together!”
And who were you to say no? You were glad that he didn’t bring up the fact that you basically skipped dinner, content to have this quiet time with you in the present.
You lightly shoved his shoulder with a snort. “Let’s hope that we don’t end up accidentally summoning Lucifer instead.”
“Who will be summoning me, exactly?”
You and Levi freeze. Slowly, you both turn to see the eldest brother standing in one of the doorways with his arms crossed and a murderous look on his face.
The tight smile he gave could bury you both six feet under. “It’s good to see you up and about after skipping dinner. Are you making up for lost time?”
Levi nudged you. You side-eyed him.
Without warning you threw your spoon to the ground and yelled.
“SCATTER!!”
And just like Ratatouille, you both bolted out of the kitchen with an angry Lucifer on your heels. You and Levi didn’t get caught, but the next morning you two had to sit and listen to one of Lucifer’s lectures at the dining table.
- You ended up missing breakfast.
(All it takes is the whisper of that one blessed word, and the two of you would devolve into a fit of laughter. Levi still joins you for your “Cursed Meal Runs”, as he dubbed it.)
Satan
He had seen the light on in the kitchen and wondered just who, exactly, would be up at this time??
Especially on a school night day???
(Actually he assumed it was Beel, but it didn’t hurt to go and check it out just in case it was an intruder, now did it?)
“What is- Oh. I see.”
(As you can tell, he immediately gets what’s going on the minute he spots you eating pizza like it’s the end of the world.)
There’s an amused smile on his face as he sits down across from you. “You’ve finally decided to eat something?”
You swallow the food in your mouth, glancing between him and the takeout box you had delivered from Hell’s Kitchen. “I can’t help it that Belphie wanted a sleepover in the middle of the afternoon! ...Okay, I can help it a little, but still; whenever we sleep, I’m dead to the world for the rest of the day.”
He hums in agreement, knowing the power of his brother’s endless soft blankets and squishy but just right pillows. “Instead of making something yourself, you chose to order pizza?”
You put another slice onto your plate, and was- yep, half the box is already gone. You must’ve been really hungry, he thought. “I just had a craving for it and it hits different at night- hey, stop laughing!”
He couldn’t help it. You were just full of surprises, weren’t you? But that’s what made you endearing to him.
He covered his mouth in an attempt to stifle the noise, eyes softening into something more intimate once they fell on your face again. “Forgive me, you just caught me by surprise. Do you mind if I take a slice? Thank you. Since we’re here, I wanted to talk to you about the show you recommended to me... Fringe, was it? I watched the first episode, and let me say...”
Your late-night (early morning) rendezvous ended up feeling like a date. Then again, anything you do with Satan ends up feeling like a date.
(He also lightly scolded you for missing out on dinner with them because it wasn’t a healthy habit to get into, but he hinted at wanting to do this again sometime with you. Overall, he wasn’t actually mad at you.)
...
(Though, the pizza was delicious. Was it because you were with him? You two would have to order it again sometime soon to “test his theory”.)
Asmodeus
Let me be honest, this man is big on his beauty sleep.
Also, he sleeps like the dead.
However, there was one night where he just...could not sleep.
So he went to go rinse some water into his face in hopes of getting out of this stupor when he heard a rustle from the kitchen.
“...-za! Pasta! Put it in a booooooox!!”
...Was that supposed to be singing??
He peeked his head into the kitchen to see you stirring a pot, quietly singing some horrendous song that you no doubt had shown Levi.
“What in the world are you cooking to make you sing like that?”
Asmo’s voice made you jump a little. With a smile you beckoned him over, only after making him promise to be quiet so that you both didn’t incur Lucifer’s wrath.
“I’m making pasta from Mammon’s frozen Hellsauce Noodles. Uh...don’t tell him.”
Look me in the eyes and tell me this man isn’t a prankster. He literally tried to get you to snap a picture of Lucifer sleeping.
He gave you a wide smile, his eyes glinting with mischief. “Oh, don’t worry; I won’t tell a soul...as long as I can have some, of course!”
- Well. This is rare. Asmo almost never has food at a cursed hour like this, much less spicy food. You nod your head over at an empty seat, telling him to just take your plate.
Once it’s done, you both take a minute to chat as it cools down.
“-nd then he threatened to switch my nail polish out for paint. Actual paint!”
...Isn’t nail polish just paint for your nails? But you kept that thought to yourself, letting the disgruntled demon gripe about a certain shady sorcerer.
Having a late-night meal with Asmo was fun and pretty chill, considering that he didn’t attempt to make one R-Rated joke while you ate. It must’ve been because he was tired, but you were leaning more towards the fact that this must be what Asmo was like when he let his guard down.
It was...nice.
“...Thanks for this, Asmo.”
Asmo smiled like he knew what you meant, but then again...maybe he did.
“Of course, love! Oh, but don’t skip out on dinner again you hear? It’s bad for your health to miss a meal.”
Beelzebub
Hungry boi already knows that you’re making a meal before even you know you’re making a meal
You were getting the pots and pans out to make a feast for yourself when you turned around and nearly screamed. Beel was peeking around the corner, staring at you with intent as his stomach rumbled.
“...What are you making?”
Once you calm yourself, you smile and beckon him over. “I planned on making a big breakfast. I may have missed dinner, but this is one meal I wouldn’t miss for the world!”
You didn’t tell him it was because it reminded you of home, with your loved ones (be it friends or family or, even, just you and your pets). You set to work whipping up some French Toast and bacon, having on numerous occasions to lightly swat Beel’s hands away from the food.
He does end up helping you, though. He tries his best, but he sneaks a sausage from the plate when you aren’t looking.
He thinks he’s being sneaky.
(You know. You still let him do it.)
“Beel, can you pull the biscuits out of the oven?”
“Sure.”
It’s a comfortable silence as you two put together a breakfast feast fit for kings. You ended up making more than you initially were due to Beel’s appetite, but seeing the awestruck look (which was accompanied by a wide smile) on his face as he took a bite of French Toast was worth the extra work.
“I take it you like it?”
He gives you a puppy-eyed look. “...Can we have this later today?”
And, really, could you ever say no to Beel when he asks so sweetly?
You laugh as you take a bite out of your biscuit, eyeing the oven because the last thing you had put in were the cinnamon rolls. “Of course. We should still have enough to do this one more time.”
He beams, going to town on the rest of the food. The whole scene is so domestic that you almost miss his next words.
“Just...don’t skip dinner again. It’s just as important as breakfast, and I like seeing you eat with us.”
- And just like that, you promise him to not skip dinner again if you can help it. The two of you do continue to make small meals at unholy hours of the morning, though, much to the ire of Lucifer.
(Also, whenever Beel is making his midnight runs to the fridge, he now drags you along to see if you’d make something. Whenever you do, he’s overjoyed and giving you all the hugs for your hard work.)
Belphegor
...Listen
Listen -
Homeboi sleeps most of the day away. He’s probably the reason you missed dinner in the first place.
“...I should’ve expected this, really.”
You whirl on him, your dominant hand not once stopping in its stirring. Even though it was early in the morning (not even Levi was up), you had a bright look in your eyes.
Your stomach rumbled loud enough for both of you to hear. Belphie raised an eyebrow, the edges of his lips curling into an amused smile.
You coughed awkwardly. “Listen, do you want chicken noodle soup or not?”
He doesn’t eat, but he does watch you bustle around the kitchen with a soft look in his eyes. Something about the whole scene was comforting, and for once he didn’t feel like falling asleep.
“Soup soup soup soup soup soup soup...!” You chanted quietly, bouncing from foot to foot as if it’d prepare the food faster. He chuckled at your enthusiasm, resting his head on his beloved cow-printed pillow as he stared.
“It’s done!!” You whisper-shout, all but slamming the bowl down as you took a seat next to him.
Belphie glanced over at you in amusement. “Is this going to become a common thing with you?” He questioned, keeping a straight face even as you scowled at him.
“You know the exact reason why I’m here in the first place. Just so you know I’m starving, Sleeping Beauty, so please excuse me as I down this piping hot soup like it’s the end of the world.”
That actually forced a snort out of him, shifting to instead lean his head on your shoulder. “C’mon, you don’t mean that. Why don’t you come sleep with me? It’s too early to be eating, anyways.”
You poke his side with your free hand. “Watch it, mister. Again, why do you think I’m here in the first place?”
He said nothing after that, closing his eyes with a small smile. Even though it was early, he wasn’t particularly annoyed; if anything, he felt...at peace.
He didn’t condone you for missing dinner, especially if it meant that he’d get more tranquil moments like this.
For now, though...let this peace last just a bit longer.

Cardigan
Flynn is going through her closet and keeps finding clothes that remind her of Carrie. Flarrie fluff and angst.
Based on Cardigan by Taylor Swift
Word count: 2,657
Cw: heartbreak, losing close friends
Thank you to @montacrewvibes for the nicknames soda pop and bubblegum and @kybee1497 for the nickname Flynnie!
Vintage tee, brand new phone
High heels on cobblestones
“Carrie emerges from behind the next aisle and smiles. “That is so cool! I love Madonna!” Then she starts singing Vogue and Flynn has to hold the shirt rack for balance. Her voice is so powerful yet so soft, just like she is.
She pauses for a beat and looks at Flynn. “What are you doing? Come on sing with me!” She looks so excited and how could Flynn resist.
“Come on, vogue. Let your body move to the music,” they sing together, their voices meshing perfectly. Carrie is dancing, but it’s mainly just bouncing and doing the vogue. How could one person be so adorable and happy? Flynn will never know.
At the end of the chorus they both laugh. “That song is so much fun,” Flynn happily sighs.
“I know right. Anyways you HAVE to buy that t-shirt. It’s amazing.”
Flynn looks down at the shirt then back at Carrie, trying not to stare at her too much. “You’re so right.”
They pay for it at the register and walk out of the store. Flynn quickly throws it on over her long sleeve. “How do I look?” Flynn puts their hand on her hip.
Carrie doesn’t reply for a moment, just stares, cheeks a soft pink. It is kinda chilly out. “It looks awesome. You’re so pretty that you can pull anything off.”
She calls them pretty and Flynn’s brain stops working. She has to fight a wide smile and suppress the warmth spreading through their whole body. “Me? Look at you! You’re so gorgeous.” Flynn prays that she doesn’t recognize that her voice is slightly higher than usual.
Carrie’s cheeks go slightly more pink and she smiles softly. Is she cold? “Here take my jacket. You look cold.” They hand her the jacket and Carrie slowly puts it on.
“It’s MY cardigan. I let you borrow it, remember?” Carrie teases while raising an eyebrow.
Flynn looks at it. How could she forget that she’s wearing it? It’s cream knit with blue stars on it and her favourite thing, especially since it’s Carrie’s.
She interrupts their train of thought. “C’mon let’s take a picture, your Madonna top is too good not to.”
Flynn nods and wraps her arm around Carrie’s shoulders. She wishes that they could stay there forever, but unfortunately the moment ends after Carrie takes the photo on her new phone.
“I have to go home, but I’ll see you at school tomorrow.”
“Yeah I need to go home too, I’ve been procrastinating my homework and now I have a ton.”
Carrie just sighs as she turns away. “Just make sure not to have too many sodas, soda pop!” She calls as she leaves.
“I’ll try, bubblegum,” Flynn softly responds while watching Carrie’s heels disappear as they clip clop against the cobblestone. It always amazes them how they could walk effortlessly in heels. Carrie always pretends to look effortless and like she doesn’t care, but Flynn knows her better than that.
When you are young, they assume you know nothing
Or at least, Flynn KNEW her better than that. She realizes that going through their closet was a mistake. There’s too many memories in the clothing that hangs there. They leave a bittersweet aftertaste.
The Madonna shirt is in her hands. Flynn loves that memory, but now it just carries the hurt of Carrie no longer being her friend. At least they aren’t quite enemies. Just the shadow of the girl she used to know, and love. Now they don’t even like either.
People assume you don’t know anything when you’re young, but you actually know more. You’re less afraid, less guarded, less hidden. People change, but Flynn knew that not too long ago she did know her, even if they don’t now.
Sequin smile, Black lipstick
Sensual politics
“Are you sure this looks good?” Flynn asks as she looks in the mirror. Black lipstick is a bold move, but they think it doesn’t look too bad.
“Are you kidding me Flynn?!” Julie exclaims. “You look so good and badass! Carrie was so right when she said you’d look good in black lipstick. What do you think, Care?”
Flynn turns to face Carrie who is just staring at her lips. She has an awestruck expression on her face and swallows heavily before meeting Flynn’s eyes. Does their lipstick look that bad that she has to stare at her lips? Or maybe it’s smudged? Flynn has no idea.
“It looks really good, Flynnie,” she says softly. There’s something off about her voice. Flynn can’t figure out what though.
Julie on the other hand just lets out a short laugh. Carrie kicks her shin in response. They seem to be having some kind of glaring match. Flynn has never been more confused.
“What’s going on?”
Julie responds first while smirking. “Carrie was just-“
“Thinking that I should really steal your sequin top,” Carrie quickly interrupts. “It’s pink and sparkly and pretty and totally my aesthetic. Please?” Carrie pouts, trying to convince her.
There is definitely something that she doesn’t know, but they doubt they’ll find out and she can never say no to Carrie. “Sure, pinky. Here you go.” Flynn passes it to Carrie who thanks her then goes to the washroom to change.
Julie looks at Flynn knowingly. “You’ve got it bad.”
“Shut up!” They respond, crossing their arms and pointedly staring at the wall. It’s just a little crush okay, nothing big.
Before they know it Carrie is back in the room and Flynn’s eyes widen. She looks incredibly pretty. Pink is definitely her colour. And she’s wearing Flynn’s shirt. She’s wearing a shirt that belongs to them. Flynn knows that they’re not in a relationship, but her stomach is already a whirl of butterflies and their heart feels like it’s gonna pump out of her chest. Carrie flashes her a sequin smile and Flynn is so done for.
Julie mumbles something that kinda sounds like “Useless lesbians,” but Flynn can’t bring herself to care.
When you are young, they assume you know nothing
The pink sequin top that Carrie looked so beautiful in is in their closet, and she knows that the black lipstick they wore is in her drawer. In hindsight Flynn knows that maybe Carrie was looking at her lips because she wanted to kiss her, but that doesn’t matter now. It’ll never happen.
Maybe they did know nothing when she was young. They didn’t know that their friendship that she valued so much would turn to dust at what seemed like a moment's notice. She didn’t know that they’d lose one of her best friends. They never could have imagined it, but this is the sad reality that she’s living in. If only things could’ve been different.
But I knew you
Dancin’ in your Levi’s
Drunk under a streetlight
“Do you ever think about how lucky we are to have met? The odds are slim to none, yet they aligned perfectly for us. I don’t know where I’d be without you. We’re just two parts of a whole trying to make our way through the world,” Carrie recites as if it’s a poem she knows by heart, but Flynn knows that it’s something she just thought of.
Her head is tipped back with her eyes closed, bathing her face in the glow of the streetlight, making her look like an angel, so ethereal and unreal. Combined with what she just said, Flynn can’t even form one coherent thought, but they feel the same way. They’re just connected in some way.
Not that she doesn’t love Julie just as much, but it’s in a different way. Julie is her sister, their family, but Carrie is her… she’d like to say soulmate, but that’s too cheesy. Plus she doesn’t even know if she likes them romantically.
“Are you drunk or something?” Flynn asks, trying to lighten the mood, not knowing what to do with this tension. Plus they just have no idea what to say.
Carrie just looks at her and smiles teasingly. “Drunk on you perhaps, but I’m as sober as a judge.”
“Good to know, Sappho. Can’t have your creative little mind going to waste.” Flynn can’t help, but tease a little back. Carrie really is their Sappho.
She points at some words painted on her Levi’s and softly says, “You may forget but, Let me tell you this: someone in the future in some future time will think of us.”
They painted that when her, Flynn, and Julie all came out to each other, a Sappho quote. They all have a matching pair of Levi’s that have that quote painted on it.
Flynn just smiles widely and relishes in the moment.
Flynn still has her Levi’s. She doesn’t wear them very often anymore. They’re just gathering dust in her closet. How ironic that they painted them when they all came out of the closet, and now they’re gathering dust in her closet.
That moment was one of Flynn’s favourites. It was so soft, so tender, so them, but now Carrie’s words sting. They’re still very precious to her, but if everything she said was true, how could this have happened? If they were truly two parts of a whole trying to make their way through the world, they would still be friends, and maybe even something more, right?
Flynn doesn’t know, but they’re tired. She misses her so badly, but they’re done. Everything that they had is just over.
They did know her though. They really did. They were something less cheesy than soulmates. Flynn grieves the girl she once knew, but really there’s no use. They’ve both grown up, and unfortunately with that growing, they also grew apart.
I knew you
Hand under my sweatshirt
Baby kiss it better
“I cannot believe that Mr. Robertson is giving us a 10 page test tomorrow even though we’re only halfway through the unit! This is ridiculous! Who does he think-“ Flynn interrupts herself by yelping when they feel something cold on her back.
Carrie giggles. “What? Are my hands cold, sweetheart?”
Flynn turns around to face this stupid adorable girl with their finger pointed at her. “I told you not to do that! Your hands are freezing!”
“But it’s fun to see you yelp, plus my hands are really cold. I just had English and that room is always FREEZING.” Carrie gives her a pleading look and Flynn just sighs as she holds out her hand. She really needs to learn how to say no to Carrie, but they don’t really want to.
Carrie smiles widely and grabs her hand, sending another shiver down Flynn’s spine. “I love your sweatshirt by the way.”
They’re wearing an orange cropped tie dye sweatshirt that’s super soft. Flynn embroidered a little orange on the chest and she loves it so much. They smile softly.
Julie clears her throat. Oh yeah, they were just talking about science. Flynn completely forgot. In their defence, Carrie is amazing.
“Come on let’s eat lunch, I want a cookie,” Julie says, deciding to ignore them and instead tease them about it afterwards. Thank God for that because Flynn would’ve either killed her or died from embarrassment, who knows which.
They all continue talking, but all Flynn can really focus on is that she’s holding hands with Carrie, even if they’re freezing cold. Due to Flynn’s oblivious happiness they miss a step when walking down the stairs. Luckily, they were smart enough to let go of Carrie’s hand before doing so, but it still really hurts. She looks down and somehow she scraped one of her knees. Well that’s just great.
“Are you okay?!” Carrie asks worriedly, kneeling beside her. They can hear Julie laughing on the other side of her. At the moment she really wishes that she didn’t know about her crush.
“Yeah I’m okay, my love,” Flynn says to comfort her, even though her butt and knee still really hurt.
Carrie still doesn’t look convinced. “You are so lucky I have a bandaid right now.” She takes one out of her pocket and carefully puts it on Flynn’s scraped knee.
Their brain still isn’t working properly. How can you expect it to when Carrie is oh so tenderly caring for them and showing that she loves her? To try to break the tenderness because they don’t know what else to do Flynn jokingly asks, “Kiss it better?”
“As you wish.” Carrie softly and quickly kisses the bandaid on their knee. Flynn can’t even feel it, but it’s enough to make her face darken and heart race. This girl will be the death of her.
Flynn doesn’t know why she’s reminiscing about this all of a sudden, but it’s just one of those days where everything sucks and the nostalgia sinks in. It probably wasn’t a good idea for her to go through her closet when she already felt bad, but it’s too late now. Sure enough the orange tie dye sweatshirt was in it.
They miss Carrie. They miss her so much that she can’t breathe. Flynn starts to cry as she feels the lump in her throat grow. Why did everything have to change? She was happy. They were all happy, and now she’s picking up the pieces of themselves.
And when I felt like I was an old cardigan
Under someone’s bed
You put me on and said I was your favourite
Flynn and Carrie are lying on Carrie’s bed, just listening to music and hanging out. Flynn’s had a terrible day where nothing seemed to go right. It brought all their insecurities to the surface where before she was just burying them under everything else.
“I feel like I’m an ordinary. Like I’m nothing special and could just be thrown away and no one could care. Like I’m an old cardigan laying under someone’s bed,” Flynn softly confesses in the quiet room.
They can hear Carrie shifting to face her, but they can’t look in her eyes yet. Instead of talking to Flynn though, she just stands up and gets something out of her closet.
“This is my favourite jacket, Carrie says just as softly while walking back to her bed. “It might not seem like anything special, just a cream cardigan.” She sits down beside her and shows her the back of it, but then flips it over to show the blue stars embroidered on it. “But it means the world to me. My Dad gave it to me when my Mom was sick. It’s still the most comforting thing I own. I usually just wear it at home because I’m scared I’ll ruin it, but I wear it out when I need a little extra comfort.
Carrie passes the cardigan to her. “You’re like this cardigan to me. You help me so much and you mean the world to me, Flynn. I love you so much and you are my favourite, never forget that. Take it. Just give it back eventually, please. Hopefully it’ll help you as much as it has helped me.” Carrie smiles tenderly.
Flynn has no words. No words for Carrie’s kindness and love. All they can focus on is this warm feeling and how much they love this girl that she just can’t describe. Flynn starts crying and pulls Carrie into a tight hug. Everything will be okay.
Flynn cries even harder now. She never gave back the cardigan. They completely forgot about it. Her mind is full of guilt, but it’s made them realize something. If Carrie loved them that much before, it can’t all completely be gone. After all, Flynn still does. She puts on the cardigan and fiddles with the slightly too long sleeves. Maybe they can still fix this.

Levi loses a bet Part 1
So, I always wanted Levi in a maid outfit ever since the trend started and, well, he's an otaku.
So, disclaimers: Dom MC, Genderneutral MC, sexual suggestions
This is a plot leading to when the reader...ahem...does the dirty with Levi, so there will be some explicit or suggestive stuff but it won't actually include the...naughties...with Levi, that'll be Part 2
Anywhoooooo, onto Levi. Sorry in advance with any grammar or spelling mistakes :/
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It all started with, well, a bet. You always wanted to see Levi in a maid outfit, it was always a thing in the anime you two watched together that girls would wear maid outfits, you can't help that you were curious about how it would look on Levi, especially since he liked the girls in their outfits so much, and well, it's a trend so he could get some internet like if he did wear one. But enough with that, let's watch Mammon at the casino. Mammon had invited (well, forced, after all, he's your first, who are you to deny him?) you to be with him at the casino, and well, Levi, being the avatar of Envy, had to make sure he tagged along, no matter how much he hated going outside his room. "No way! I'm only taking MC!" "I'm their boyfriend so I'm coming!" While they were bickering, Levi had stepped in front of you to get into Mammon's face. This wasn't going to go anywhere, it would be the next day at this rate, it's like you have to solve all their disagreements. You got close and whispered a possible solution to get Levi what he wanted, "Forgive his debt." Levi hesitated but took your idea, "I'll forgive a portion of your debt if you stop trying to stop me!" Mammon hesitated, "Like...how much are we talkin' here?" "10%" "No way!" Soon Mammon haggled it to be 25%. "Alright, I'll let ya come, but this is a formal casino, I had ta get MC to buy me this suit so now I gotta pay ‘em back with my winnin's, ya can't show up like that or you'll get laughed outta there." Levi nodded and ran off to his room, you giving a pat to his ass on the way out. So, that's how you got here, Levi in the suit he so rarely wears, and Mammon leading you two to the first game he wanted to play. "I bet he won't be able to pay back a single penny that he owes you for that suit." "Are you jealous I took him out for that suit?" "No!" You thought for a moment, caving in, "Alright, if he is able to pay back a single scent by the end of the night, I win. As for the stakes..." you pulled Levi close to you, whispering to him once again, this time with some more...malicious intentions, "I want you to wear a maid outfit for an entire day, call me master, and actually get into character, date of my choosing." His face went red, he's always wanted to try it, to be honest, but he'd be embarrassed if he got caught with a maid outfit in his possession, now he would have an excuse. "T-that seems way too embarrassing!" "Even when you have the option to ask anything you want of me?" Anything he wanted...anything at all. He went quiet, mumbling something you couldn't hear as he looked away from you. "I'm sorry Levi-chan, what was that?" God he hated when you called him that, but loved it. "I-I want you to let me dom, at least once. I always sub and...I want to try it, S-senpai." Truth was he could've just asked if he wanted to dom you, but if it'll give you the chance to see him in a maid outfit, "Deal, now let's go catch up to Mammon." At the end of the night, Mammon ended up only keeping some of his winnings, losing a ton in blackjack before you three, or rather, him, but you and Levi tagged along since you felt bad, got kicked out for causing a scene. Mammon was grumbling when you reminded him to pay you back for his suit, "But I was only able to keep 50 grimm!" "Pay me what you have." It was an order, bet he was regretting being your first demon now. But you didn't care about getting completely payed, you just wanted to thumb through the cash in front of Levi to tease him. The maid outfit was coming tomorrow. ~ {A text conversation with Levi} (Levi, what are you doing tomorrow?)- -(I've got a gaming convention tomorrow, I was just about to invite you.) (Tomorrow you're wearing the outfit.)- -(WHAT?!) (Yeah, it just arrived. No complaining, you better be a good little maid.)- -(*insert scared puppy sticker here but I'm too lazy to actually find a software where I can do a texting story so deal with it*) ~ First thing in the morning, before even going downstairs for breakfast, you went to check on Levi. You woke up especially early to make sure he obeyed you, sure enough, you walked in and he was looking at himself in the mirror. "Well hello, how is my maid?" He jumped and turned around looking at you. "I-I'm not so sure about this." Wow, you had to double-take, were you dreaming? God, not that God hasn't given up on you as soon as you started dating this demon, but God, Levi just looked so...perfect. The black buckled shoes with those thigh high socks, that apron, the hairpiece, Jesus Christ he even had gloves that laced at the wrist. "You know, you could get a lot of internet likes if you posted yourself wearing this." "No! That'll be way to embarrassing!" "Sure, anyways, accompany your master to breakfast." You reminded him, in a roundabout way, to get into character. You could see he was embarrassed, but you couldn't help but tease him a little more, "I could dress as your master if it'll help.” "No, that'll make it worse." He pouted, but walking over to you. "Let's go eat breakfast...Master." ~ Once you walked downstairs, the brothers all had different reactions. Mammon pointed at Levi, "BAHAHAHA, LOOK AT HIM!" Belphegor...wasn't there, but he'd probably complain Mammon was too loud but snort at how Levi looked. Asmo giggled, "Levi finally jumped on the trend! This'll definitely get some likes on Devilgram!" Satan widened his eyes but looked away, sipping on his tea, it was too early for this shit. Beel...well he was trying to hold himself back from stealing Levi's food, he'll need his strength for whatever you've got planned for him. Lucifer looked at Levi, then to you, "M-MC, just what is Leviathan wearing?" "Leviathan is my maid, obviously!" "I lost a bet, okay?!" Breakfast went by with Mammon almost getting away with teasing Leviathan, but you are always there to protect Leviathan, when he didn't deserve the teasing that is. "Mammon, I've got a second maid outfit I can have you wear for a week in order to forgive you for not paying me back for the suit." "What?! Why do ya got two of those?! And why in my size?!" "It was a two for one sale, and I had a feeling you would try to make fun of my maid. But, if you want your debt forgiven, you can make sure that Levi isn't teased at school when I'm not with him." No one could tease Levi except you. "For real?! My debt forgiven for the suit?!" "All debt to me, I can't have my Levi getting his gloves dirty with blood." Leviathan was embarrassed, but grateful you got Mammon to shut up and gained a protector. ~ School was great, Leviathan really got into his role, carrying your things along with his to your classes together, and even when you had different classes, though he did have to his sprint to his own class at those moments. He even brought you your lunch and found a better seat than your normal one with the brothers and the fellow exchange students. It was a new side of him, and you loved it. "Levi, will you feed me my food? My wrist is so sore from writing today." You were going to milk this for as long as possible, huh? "Y-yes, master," face beet red, he took a scoop of some apple sauce or something (man what do I know about what they serve in the Devildom for humans?) and held it up to your mouth, using the other hand to make sure nothing fell off onto the floor. After feeding you, he wiped your mouth unprompted. "Aw, you're doing such a good job, little maid, come here." You gave him a hug and pat his head, you weren't sure if you could hold back for much longer, let's hope so. “No one tried to pick on you, right?”
“No, Master, at least not without Mammon beating them up. That scum can at least do a job when he’s promised that some debt will be forgiven.”
“That’s good. Now, little maid, let’s finish our lunch.”
~ After school, it was straight to getting ready for the gaming convention. Levi was just about to change, when you stopped him, "Just what do you think you're doing?" "I'm...getting ready for the convention?" "Did you have a cosplay planned?" "Not really... I wanted to cosplay but didn't want to risk showing up those other cosplayers and people wanting to take pictures with me, I didn't want to end up having to talk to people. I was just going to go to get some discounts on some games that were going to get announced at the last convention before it got rescheduled." (Quarantine vibes) "Then you'll go as my maid, you can say you're cosplaying." "What?! That's not even in the games I play...minus dating sims." "Well, some gamers are also dressing up as maids, I'm sure you won't stand out too much. I'll go get on what I wore to that casino so I can be your master, we can still act like it's from an old game or something." "F-fine, only because I might not be the only one.” Well, he wasn't the only one, but any other boys in maid outfits were still a little bit rare, especially those who were alone and didn't have a whole group dressed up as maids. "MC...I'm embarrassed." Levi tugged on your arm, looking at you desperately, holding back your urges was getting harder. "Well, you've been embarrassed this whole day, you must be really embarrassed for you to be saying it out loud, and you forgot that I'm your master." Levi widened his eyes, shutting up. Jeez the bathrooms were all crowded, and there were no single stall bathrooms anywhere. "Did you get and do everything you wanted?" "I want to still stay until the show where they announce some new games that weren't sold today." DAMMIT! Fine, if it's for him, fine, you can bare a couple more hours, but the aching between your legs is beginning to get annoying. Once this show is over, your taking Levi home and going to make sure he won't forget to call you master.
Well, hoped you liked it, I did my best to make sure the reader was gender neutral this is my first fic so go easy on me :) I'm an author in more than just fan fic so I tend to be descriptive, I only realized halfway through writing this that I probably need to put it into two parts. I'm not great with tumblr mechanics so I did my best. Anywho, it's 2:35am haha...I need to sleep, hope you enjoyed.
Always Here For You
Pairing: Leviathan X MC
Summary: Leviathan gets a call from MC, it sounded urgent. The demon who has a pact with the human gets summoned immediately in the human world. But it wasn't as it seemed. Its been over a year since your return to the human world. You've gotten a part time job, have an apartment of your own, and.. a boyfriend. You've talked about your significant other to the brothers a handful of times so they're well aware of who he is and how special he means to you. Leviathan though, Avatar of Envy, has held grudges against him but chooses to be quiet about it for the sake of your happiness.
Leviathan sat inside his room playing games as usual. He leaned left and right as he played a racing game, bumping into cars and making them crash and spin upside down. "And... FINISHED!" He yelled with the biggest smile on his face. Belphegor sighed, "you're over exaggerating again." He said as he shook his head, putting the controller in his hands down.
"Pfft, you're just jealous that I keep winning." Leviathan proceeded to do his signature victory dance, even though he was terrible at dancing. Belphegor's phone dings, he takes it out of his pocket and checks the notification.
"Huh, seems like MC is enjoying themselves once again." Belphegor smiled at his phone. Leviathan hears your name and automatically makes his way to his younger brother's phone to see what you were up to.
"Why do you have Instagram? Isn't it forbidden here?" Leviathan asked. Belphegor rolled his eyes before letting out a small laugh, "do you really think I ever followed what was forbidden and what was not?" Leviathan just nodded and proceeded to look at his phone.
It was an Instagram story. You took a photo of a man sitting across you in a cafe with the puppy eye emoji and hearts. 2 minutes ago.
"You have turned on notification for MC?" He asked. Belphegor nodded with a raised brow, "it's really the only time I hear from them apart from messages and occasional calls, but that hasn't happened in a while since she does have-" Leviathan cuts his brother off with a sigh, dropping himself on the couch beside him.
"MC has been calling to you the most though. Everyone is jealous. Especially Mammon." He said. Leviathan shook his head, "at least you all knew about their boyfriend. MC hasn't told me about it until a month passed of them telling you guys."
"Because MC knows for a fact that you'd kill any person that involved themselves in their life that's not us or you." Leviathan stayed silent, trying to think of a way to debunk Belphegor's words but ended up failing. He noticed the expression in his older brother's face and just patted his back, "MC knows you. A little too well if you ask me."
"They haven't even messaged me in almost 2 weeks. Barely responds to me chats too. You know how sad it is to grind on games when I'm playing all alone and no one to talk to?"
"That's when you're wrong. You've used to love doing that. All that. You used to treasure being alone, playing alone, grinding on games alone, even talking to yourself, but ever since MC came into picture you've wanted nothing but someone to play with. That includes me right now."
"That's not true." Belphegor rolled his eyes, "don't pull a Mammon on me. I know you too, don't forget that. What did you think about when MC told you about their new boyfriend?"
"Wait there was an old one?" Leviathan raised his brows and looked at his brother. "Tell me."
The 3rd oldest just sighed, folding his arms and looked away like some sulking child that didn't get what they want. "I.. wanted him to die."
"Did you tell MC that?" He slowly shook his head in denial, "of course not. That would crush them and I don't want that. I don't want to hurt or see them hurt in any way. If that guy pulls anything.." Belphegor looked down and saw that Leviathan's fists were clenched tightly to the point his knuckles were turning slightly purple.
"You just wanna protect MC. I get it, we all do." Leviathan shook his head, "it's not just that.. it's also because.." his face was getting red a little bit, ashamed of what he was going to say. Belphegor snickered, "you want to be her boyfriend." He pointed.
Leviathan immediately stood up, "no, no, no, no, no. Impossible. No, nope, nopitty, nope. You're wrong." Belphegor rolled his eyes and was about to add something but was being pushed out by the Avatar of Envy. "Bye, it's time for you to go." He said as he pushed his younger brother out his room.
"But-" he slammed the door shut and rested his forehead against it. His knuckles clenched and his head looking down, he heaved a breath, "I just want MC to date someone that makes them happy. Someone they deserve.."
"They're special."
-
It was already about to be 4am and Leviathan still can't sleep. He can't blame his horrible sleeping schedule, he's not used to sleeping this early. He buried his head in a pillow and groaned loudly, trying to sleep his thoughts away.
"Maybe I should send a message. No, I can't and I won't. They have a boyfriend now and I can't go between that. MC's life is not to be controlled by me, yes. That's right." He thought to himself.
His phone rings and he gets startled by it. "What does Belphie want now." He sighed and reached for his phone. His eyes widened, body shaking when he saw your name on his notification.
MC - hey umm can we talk? I have a question to ask.. (sent 10 secs ago)
In a heartbeat, the demon responds immediately.
"Sure, but you haven't messaged me in 2 weeks!!!!" He looked at the message and deleted it.
Levi - what do you need?
Without any response, the otaku started glowing. "What the-" everything flashed the color white and next thing he knew he wasn't on his bed anymore. He was at a different place.
"What the fuck?!?!" He exclaimed. Confused, Leviathan looked around and that place didn't seem near familiar to him. He looked around the room he was in, examining the room. "Levi?" A voice called.
Leviathan knew that voice. He immediately went to where the voice was coming from and saw you on a bed with tears running down your eyes. He immediately ran to you, hands on your shoulders. "MC???? WHAT HAPPENED? WHO HURT YOU? WHERE ARE THEY??" His eyes were visibly glowing orange with rage, glaring.
"Levi.. I-" you choked on your words and started to sob. The boy wasn't experienced with these type of things but he watched enough shows to know what to do. "MC.. you can tell me anything, you know that." His hands still on your shoulders, he moves the other one on your cheek and wiped your tears off.
You looked back at him and that seemed to wake him up. He removes his hands from you as his face gets red. Leviathan suddenly keeps his distance, "right.. I forgot." He cleared his throat and looked away.
"That won't happen again, I'm sorry." He apologized but avoided looking at you. "Levi, it's fine-" he cuts you off, "it's not. You have a boyfriend. And if someone were to do that to my significant other I'd.." he stopped himself and just sat down on the corner of your bed.
"You mean... ex-boyfriend.." you said weakily. His eyes widened completely, jaw dropped. "He's the one that hurt you???? Oh boy I'm going to enjoy this-" you grab onto his arm when he was about to get up. "I just need you with me right now.."
Leviathan looked at your hand that was restraining him from doing anything to your boyfriend. Then he looked at you and looked into your eyes, it hurt him to see you this way. He sits back down but this time closer to you.
"What did he do?" He asked. You were seated cross legged, wiping your tears off with the box of tissues on your bed side table.
"We've been dating for around 6 months. He's perfect or at least I thought he was.. maybe this is what the relationship we had really was. It was all in my head and I was too fucking blind to see any of the red flags."
Leviathan was still confused, but he continued to listen. "I trusted him so so much. But later found out he's been seeing other girls behind my back. Even when he started dating."
"MC, I-" you suddenly grab him by his collar and pushed him back and forth, "I WANT HIM GONE, LEVI. THAT'S WHAT I WANT YOU TO DO." You yelled your lungs out. Leviathan was taken aback. He has never seen you this broken.
"DO YOU HEAR ME, LEVIATHAN? I WANT YOU TO MAKE HIM DISAPPEAR. HIM GONE. ANYTHING. I WANT HIM GONE." You kept pulling and pushing Leviathan. His heart ached seeing you like this. He grabbed onto your hands and held them, "MC, I can't do that."
"Levi, please. I can't do this anymore. Was I not good enough for him?" You let go of him as tears rolled down your face once again. "I can't anymore. I can't.. live anymore."
Leviathan pulled you into a tight hug, "don't say that you idiot. He's not good enough for you. No one is. Please don't think so negatively." He said and stroked the back of your head lightly, comforting you.
"He deserves way more than that. I'll protect you, okay? If he hurts or if anyone hurts you again, I'll make sure they get what they deserve." You both let go of each other.
"Thank you so much, Levi. Sorry for involving you with my mess." You wiped the tears off of your eyes and sniffled. "Any time. I'll always be here for you."
"Hey Levi," he raised a brow and looked at you. "What did you mean when you said.. you said that no one deserves me."
"I- uh.." he looked at you and you had this look on your face that he could never say no or lie to.
"MC, you're very special. Unlike all these normies, disgusting normies, you're.. different. You're kind, caring, very thoughtful, and just.. a great person." His face reddened even more when you didn't say anything.
"Was that too much? I'm sorry I should probably-" he was about to stand up and leave but you grabbed his wrist and pulled him towards you, kissing him on his lips.
"MC.." you too were embarrassed, "I just thought.. I would do that." You gave him a smile, trying to hide your red cheeks as well. Leviathan cupped your cheek and pulled you closer to him, kissing you.
Note: was too lazy to check for typos if there are any I am so sorry
You know the problem with Mikasa and Eren’s relationship is not even the fact that Mikasa has vowed to follow him and stick by him no matter what. The problem is the way it’s portrayed. Mikasa is always giving 200% while Eren barely gives 50 in the relationship. The way Mikasa heavily relies on him but he does not do the same. There is a gross imbalance of power in this dynamic that you can’t deny.
While he is able to say whatever he wants to her and have a huge impact on her actions and feelings, what she says to him — if she even says anything since they never let her speak her mind about things which is another problem — in turn holds barely any value to him because at the end of the day, he will do what he wants and Mikasa knows that and that’s the problem. Maybe that’s why she doesn’t even bother voicing her opinions anymore. The relationship is not reciprocated properly. One person is giving way too much while the other does not give enough.
Not only that, but the fact that it’s always shown in this ambiguous “will they/will they not” romantic lens makes it even worse. Who wants a partner like that whether it be platonic or romantic? At least if it was made clear that it was a sibling dynamic, his behavior would be a lot more bearable and I would be able to stomach it.
Obviously a lot of this also has to do with Mikasa’s ackerman bond and childhood trauma but that’s another conversation.
I don’t have a problem with that kind of dynamic honestly.... When Done Properly. If we take yumikuri/yumihisu in contrast: Ymir is probably in the same position as Mikasa, but the difference is that throughout their whole arc, Historia actually reciprocated Ymir’s feelings and actively gave as much in the relationship as Ymir was. When Ymir was being an asshole Historia made sure to let her know. When Historia was not being true to herself Ymir also chastised her for it. They both listened to what the other had to say. They were a team, they were in sync and on the same page. Ymir’s words and actions had as much impact on Historia as hers on Ymir. And most importantly, Ymir was never made to feel or be seen as dumb or silly or pathetic about Historia’s position in her life. If we take the ackerman bond into account, Erwin and Levi’s dynamic also shows mutual trust and respect but I won’t get into it.
The point is, while Eren’s treated Mikasa like a nuisance 9 times out of 10 — even while knowing what she’s been through and why she is the way she is — Mikasa still sees and treats him like the second coming of christ and I’m just not okay with that.
Since the recent chapters seem to be pointing to a severance in their relationship and some potentially delicious Mikasa development, I can only hope upcoming chapters deliver but honestly it was long overdue, I’m just super tired.
More than anything, I really do hope she gets to express herself to Eren as well and gets some things off her chest. And none of that “when you wrapped your scarf around me” or “you’re my family” or any other vague/rose-tinted narrative bullshit because we already know that. I need her to express herself genuinely, in a raw and critical way because you can’t tell me she hasn’t felt deeply hurt by him multiple times throughout the series, especially present time given their most recent encounter.
Just like Mikasa, Annie has always been a pretty quiet character, more on the observant side but she’s been more honest and vocal, expressing herself extensively more and more since she got out of the crystal which I am beyond ecstatic about, so I can only hope Mikasa gets the chance to do the same and not just with Eren but with other characters and herself as well.
#yes i jst watched her lg ep and i am once again annoyed#revulsed even#the diff between hers and annies 😭😭😭#i am not placing blame on anyone other than isym and wit studios btw#i think the ackerman bond is a very shitty concept overall tbh#and mikasa got the shittiest one#i also absolutely hate the fact tht they and fans of this ship act like its the epitome of romance when its far from tht#mikasa#mikasa ackerman#snk spoilers#snktext
SnK Chapter 112 Results
The chapter poll closed with 1706 responses. Thank you to everyone who participated!
RATE THE CHAPTER 1,664 Responses
No doubt about it, chapter 112 was lit. 77.1% of the fandom gave this chapter a top rating making it the third most popular chapter since we started the poll.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH
After more than 5 years reading these series I'm not sure if I can get any more broken than this, but Isayama-sensei surely will find a new way
Probably one of the most start to finish exciting and fascinating chapters we've had in a long time.
I have nothing but praise for this chapter and the discussion it has generated. Both Eren & Levi's parts were equally emotionally compelling. All in all I feel like crying in a corner now until the day comes with Mikasa smiles again and Levi stops suffering.
At this point, Eren is the greatest character in AoT, one of the greatest protagonists ever, Attack on Titan is one of the greatest manga ever and Hajime Isayama is one of the greatest mangaka ever.
Best chapter since 100 for sure. The EMA talk was delivered in the best and least expected way possible, and Eren absolutely killed it this chapter.
Can a manga chapter kill a person?
I've enjoyed lots of recent chapters, but this is the first one in a good while that I've loved all-out. Gimme dat good juice Isayama!
Eren whyyyyyy
I normally would have spent my time stressing out about Falco, but my god what a phenomenal chapter.
This manga is the only toxic relationship i want in my life.
WHAT WAS THIS CHAPTER’S MOST MEMORABLE MOMENT? 1,669 Responses
Eren’s relentless roast session takes first with 28.3% of the vote. Armin punching Eren was second with 16.6% and EMA in the chapter vs. EMA on the cover was third with 14.6%.
Me crying this all through
The Titans falling from the sky
Zeke warming up then running away
My heart was absolutely broken for Mikasa. I want to pull her out of the manga, wrap her up in a blanket, dote on her and tell her everything's going to be okay. Eren, damnit, tell her you're sorry and that you love her!
I'm glad Nicolo admitted his guilt and wanted to atone/redeem himself
Let's hope Falco won't become the sink titan for now.
ON A SCALE OF 1-5, HOW DID THIS CHAPTER MAKE YOU FEEL? 1,653 Responses
A third of all respondents feel dead inside, while ¼ are still fully in denial and think everything will be fine. Either way, our psyches need some TLC. This question was brought to you by Betterhelp.org. #notsponsored.
Everything hurts and I'm dying.
HELP ME
I loved it but Im suffering af
it was absolutely depressing
this killed me inside
I want to die now
It hurts
Took my mental stability away😂👌💯
See y’all in therapy.
DO YOU BELIEVE ONYANKOPON IS INNOCENT? 1,660 Responses
When it comes to Onyankopon’s intentions, it seems we’re still as lost as ever. Over 4 out of 10 respondents don’t have clue where his loyalties lie. Nearly 3 out of 10 respondents think he’s trustworthy, while almost exactly the same amount of people think he’s full of crap. Also, there weren’t any write-ins about Onyankopon, but with everything else going in this chapter, we’re not entirely surprised.
WHAT DID YOU THINK OF THE EMA TALK? 1,649 Responses
Nearly 50% of you are not pleased with how the EMA talk turned out, while a little over 30% actually enjoyed recent developments. 15% of people now realize why we didn’t include “EMA talk” as an option for the “things you’re looking forward to in the next chapter” question (it was because we forgot, but I guess it worked out fine?)
3 words: God damnit Eren!
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
I loved it but it was awful, in a good way
Eren is obviously lying about hating them but until we know why all I feel is pain. Mikasa and Armin didn't deserve this.
Everything fell apart in the worst way possible
I don't buy Eren's words here, but I'm so satisfied at seeing Armin punching him in the face
I felt personally attacked, gutted, and murdered by Eren but I liked it
I was absolutely torn to pieces by it. Seeing the bond that they had/have grow and change, to seeing them go their separate ways is hard to watch, especially with the dreams we've seen them share and work to accomplish.
Eren has bad table manners
DO YOU THINK EREN IS CORRECT ABOUT ARMIN BEING MANIPULATED BY BERTHOLDT? 1,664 Responses
In our chapter 110 poll, we asked about why Armin wanted to touch Annie in the crystal. At that time, 26.8% of respondents felt he was being influenced by Bert through Paths.
Now, it seems more complicated. 62.9% feel like Eren isn’t correct, but not completely wrong about Armin being manipulated by Bertholdt. 18.1% think this isn’t the case at all, and 13.3% feel that Bert is influencing Armin’s actions.
He claims Armin is being influenced by Berthold. If Armin can be influenced by one titan, what about Eren with his three titans? I'm not sure he's being controlled but he's probably heavily influenced.
There's something more that we don't know about yet since we (and characters in the manga) are constantly being surprised by his actions. Eren's not wrong, but I don't think he's right either. He's saying he's doing everything out of his free will (cause I guess he's not ignorant about possible influences of the memories he has), while Armin and Mikasa are being manipulated, but maybe he's overestimating the power of his free will and accepts ideas that are passed down to him along with memories as his own. Or maybe he's really fully aware he's also being manipulated but uses it to his advantage somehow.
Also if Eren thinks that Armin being controlled by Bertholdt is a bad thing, he’s wrong because now Armin is two best boys for the price of one.
My baby Bertholdt is relevant again and I live for it
ACKERMYSTERY REVEALED!! DO YOU THINK EREN’S GOT THE CORRECT VERSION? 1,664 Responses
Ackermystery revealed! Or is it? 62% of respondents believe we only got partially correct information from Eren. 22% are confident Isayama is wasting no panel space on false information and 10% are certain that the information is flat out wrong.
I don't think he is totally correct. Mikasa's bond and strenght isn't solely explained by her ackerman DNA, as well as Levi. He awakened his abilities way before he met Erwin. Both of them aren't slaves of his DNA and destiny.
Partially but not fully accurate. I think there's definitely truth to what he said, but either not every... Ackerman... works the same or there are different 'levels' to the bond. He also definitely might have been exaggerating to be a douchebag, because I can't imagine how he'd think Mikasa was a slave to him when she's blatantly gone against him in the past, sometimes even physically hurting him to make a point or get him to stop doing something.
WHAT DO YOU THINK OF EREN’S EXPLANATION OF THE ACKERMYSTERY? 1,656 Responses
Nearly half of respondents feel that this new information adds another layer of complexity of the Ackermans’ relationships. ¼ of voters agree that it simply makes sense, while 13% are not the biggest fans of Eren’s explanation.
Eren just replied a harsh version of it (just to protect her and let Mikasa get away from him) OR he was manipulated by Zeke with this shadowy version of the truth behind the Ackerman family
I believe his explanation of things is warped; I think Eren's explanation has some truth, but his own feelings made him jump to conclusions (e.g. Mikasa's feelings are ALL based on her Ackerbond)
Eren only understands part of it. Mikasa unlocked her powers fighting the kidnappers but formed a close bond with Eren when he wrapped the scarf around her. Those are two separate moments.
He's lying, the ackermanns haven't followed the king for the entire time they have been inside the walls, he just wants Mikasa and Armin to stop blindly following and worshiping him
Let's not jump to conclusions, we don't know if Eren's lying or if he even has the correct information. Everything should be taken with a grain of salt.
I believe it's far more complex than Eren's half assed "explanation". While it is in the Ackerman genes to find someone to bond with, it's far from a master slave relationship. And Erwin and Levi are a proof of that. If the slave theory was true, Levi would inject Erwin with serum, his dna would prevent him from allowing Erwin to die, because humanity needs him. But he chose Erwin. He chose to set him free. I think Eren meant that Mikasa was a slave for her feelings towards himx otherwise Eren looks like a complete idiot.
I think that he has very basic or oversimplified facts. What he's saying makes sense, but I feel there is a lot of grey area that he's not considering. Mikasa is still her own person. Her feelings toward him are genuine. Not to mention, Levi and Kenny both awakened the powers without an ackerbond, so....
DOES EREN BELIEVE THE CRUEL WORDS HE SAID TO ARMIN AND MIKASA? 1,657 Responses
At a near even split, respondents are either certain that Eren didn’t believe the hurtful things he said to Armin and Mikasa, or they are completely unsure. Less than a quarter thinks he truly believes in what he said.
I can't shake the feeling that this isn't 100% him. The hurtful words still feel like an act to push Armin and Mikasa away from him, rather than actually aiming to hurt them
what Eren said was gasp worthy. No one would have though he actually hated Mikasa. I do think that’s how he actually feels about Mikasa, as he said everything he will do is just him.
Whether Eren actually meant it when he said he’s alwaa hated Mikasa or he’s just trying to break the ackerbond, it’s too far, he broke her down and stomped on her repeatedly, it breaks my heart because Mikasa’s worse fear and true, she lost her last family member
Eren's words are not his own. Trust me.
I think that eren is TRYING to make his friends hate him by saying these things so when the time comes and he has to die, they won’t miss him as much. What I’m saying is, Eren is trying to be less connected to his friends so that his death won’t be too hard on them and they move on with their lives rather than having regret and mourning his death never continuing their lives the same way ever again
To be honest, I'm not all that surprised Eren would tell Mikasa what he did. While there are times that he has shown concern, friendliness, etc he's also had his moments of showing her some rather explosive anger. Whether it's real, all him or not, I don't know-nor am I concerned about it- but I do think it is something to be taken into account.
HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT EREN NOW? 1,653 Responses
30% of voters just want to understand what Eren is up to and are concerned about where his head is at. ¼ of voters think he is just plain full of crap, 22% find his actions unforgivable and a small 15% are ready for him to lead the country immediately.
Conflicted. Best written protag in a long, long time.
A common theme in this story is the need to do something monstrous for a perceived greater good. We don't know what Eren's goals are yet and I'm content waiting to find out before judging him.
Eren is either poorly written or his mind has been altered by Zeke somehow.
I think it’s another interesting character development for Eren. The flashbacks showed that he was starting to see his friends this way. After gaining his father’s memories, that changed everything for him.
He is still good, he hasn’t changed in terms of mindset he has become more mature and is looking at things from a different perspective. People always relied on him to make the most important descision, now he’s doing it on his own like Kaneki if u ask me. It’s like when you constantly call someone a monster, that they aren’t. they will eventually become one
I wanna kick his ass
Boy he got good roast game, bUT BOI I WOULD LIKE TO STRANGLE HIM
If he's pulling an act, then it will make me like his character even more, but if this is Eren's true self then I want him dead.
He claims he's free. What's he going to do next, run around with NO clothes on? He's already been shoeless and shirtless, he may as well cross another line!
He’s my favorite character but good lord Eren what the hell man
Still my fave. He's a bit of a dick right now but he's just so damn interesting. I NEED to know what's going on inside his head!
Eren's behaviour in this chapter is so at odds with his character portrayal in the Marley arc, that I only hope there's an explationation later that'll make it all make sense from a characterization POV
WHAT BEST DESCRIBES HOW YOU VIEW EREN’S CONTROL OF HIS ACTIONS? 1,653 Responses
40% of respondents feel that Eren is likely not fully in control of his actions and believe he is suffering a combination of control from Zeke and control from one or many of the titans in his system. 17.5% don’t want to make any assumptions just yet, and at slightly less, 17% believe that Eren is perfectly in control of himself.
Free, but heavily influenced (not controlled) by memories
A combination of all three
He might be making his own choices but that doesn't mean he's free. He's still a slave to his own ideals in the end.
Eren is definitely influenced by previous titans, but being influenced by Zeke would be bad writing.
Zeke gave him (questionably true) information, and he has lots of voices in his head but he's still in control. He's doing what he believes he needs to do to save those closest to him, even if he knows it's wrong and even if it drives them away.
Dude doesn't know what he is doing right now, Eren.exe has stopped working.
I really don't know. This feels so much different to when he was slaughtering kids in Liberio of his own volition only a year ago, and now he's setting up his contemporaries, countrymen and friends for his own ends and i can't tell if this is genuine help me
The memories are of course altering his personality and thoughts but I don't think there's any kind of direct "control" over him. He's doing what he thinks is best for Eldia.
He is certainly being influence, but still free to make his own choices
Partial will, partial influence of Attack/Founding Titan
There is something wrong with him. But it's too early to tell.
Eren and Attack titan's personalities are merged now I think. But is Eren cooperating or completely against Attack's will is a big question. I like the theory that this titan will be the main villain at the end (the series is called after his name duh)
CAN YOU CAN ACTUALLY PINPOINT THE EXACT MOMENT HER HEART BREAKS IN TWO? 1,650 Responses
RIP Mikasa’s Heart
How will Mikasa ever recover tho…
F for Mikasa’s feelings.
I'm broken like Mikasa
WHAT DO YOU THINK WILL HAPPEN TO MIKASA NOW? 1,647 Responses
A solid ½ of respondents are confident that this was Mikasa’s calling to finally break off from Eren and have a story arc apart from him. 20% believe she will ultimately choose to go to Hizuru in the end (or do you?) and 15% feel she’s just going to be broken for the remainder of the story.
Mikasa is approaching Reiner levels of suffering... I want her to prove Eren wrong so badly, and if that means beating his ass, then so be it.
Mikasa didn't deserve this
Mikasa better move on.
Mikasa ilu bby. Your love and consideration for others has been genuine and you're doing amazing sweetie. Don't get caught up in Eren's bullshit.
AT THIS MOMENT, WHO WOULD YOU MOST LIKE TO PUNCH IN THE FACE? 1,642 Responses
It was a close one but Flock edged out Eren as the characters we’d most like to punch in the face. Zeke and Isayama made a distant third and fourth. Popular write-ins were Armin (26), Gabi (35), Mikasa (10), all of them (14) and no one (11).
Myself, for always still returning to this series, despite Isayama destroying my hopes and feels time and time again.
Guys who destroyed the shit machine
All of above. No questions asked.
none of them are u crazy!?
Why isn't Gabi an option here?
I'm gonna pull a chapter 68 and punch myself in the face.
I picked Floch but I’d love to punch the shit out of Zeke and Eren as a close second and third
WHERE DO YOU THINK HISTORIA’S LOYALTIES LIE? 1,639 Responses
At over ⅓ of the votes, most feel Historia is either acting on her own, or is in cahoots with Eren and the Yeagerists. Quite a few write-ins felt her loyalty only goes as far as Eren, while another several said she’s loyal only to Ymir.
Daz the Winged Titan
Eren. But, that loyalty is wavering.
Her unborn child most likely. Everyone else has screwed her over!
Historia's loyalties lie with Paradis. She will probably side with anyone who can ensure the island's continued survival. She's clearly taking her role as the Queen seriously what with her pregnancy and all... :(
I might have an opinion on this if Historia had screentime to base said opinion on.
Ymir her secret girlfriend who cosplays as a farm boy
Even if I'm disappointed with her being pregnant because of Zeke/Eren's fault, I'm sure she'll rise again. She may have close friends in the SC, but she is loyal to Ymir. She'll live in a world where she can proudly say who she is.
WHICH OF THESE PANELS IS THE STUFF OF NIGHTMARES? 1,657 Responses
With 43.8% of the responses, the random scouting legion members being turned into titans was the most horrifying, followed by Floch’s… smile. Falco’s bathtime came in last place, but do you guys realize just how big that sink is?
*screams*
Zeke screaming like the furry monkey that he is and seeing Floch being a bitch was horrible too. The only thing that matters to remember is our cinammon roll taking a bubble bath🛀💗 what a cutie pie.
Falco is going to wake up like "wtf i'm in a sink"
You'll think I'm crazy, but I absolutely LOVE this Floch-villain thing. It was like I was waiting for that "smile" to happen. Most people hate him, but he may even be a more dangerous villain in the future.
WHAT DO YOU MAKE OF LEVI’S HEADACHE? 1,647 Responses
56.4% believe Levi’s head grab has nothing to do with his Ackergenetics. Of those, 29.2% attributed it to stress and 14.8% believe it’s not a headache at all. For those who believe his Ackerbonds are a factor, 27% attribute it to his bond with Erwin, while 25% cite a connection to Eren.
After all the trouble Levi went through to defend Eren, all the dead comrades who gave up their lives to defend Eren. Now Eren is in league with the very man who killed Erwin, Connie's entire village and many more people on Paradis. That's a recipe for a head explosion, nevermind a headache!
Both stress and the Ackerman headache of himself doubting the idea of continuing to defend Eren and uphold Erwin's promise of saving humanity and killing the beast Titan but his Ackerman blood tells him otherwise
He is tired as hell, give this man a break, I don't think he formed an Ackerbond with Eren, well I hope for his sanity that he didn't...I'll pray for him.
I don’t think he’s formed an ackerbond with Eren, but he seemed to believe Erwin and Eren were humanity’s hopes so whatever that means…
Little bit of the vow to Erwin, but also has a lot to do with the stress and all the lives lost for someone that may have betrayed them.
We've never seen Levi get a headache before and if that really is a headache in the same chapter Eren mentioned them I find it kind of silly.
I'm so curious about Levi holding his head and what it could mean. I hope that he can fulfill his vow to Erwin. Also that panel of him turning back around was beautifully drawn.
DO YOU STILL BELIEVE ZEKE’S STORY OF HOW RAGAKO VILLAGE WAS TRANSFORMED INTO TITANS 1,632 Responses
57.9% think that Zeke’s still lying about, well, everything, but especially the actual mode of transmission for his spinal fluid in Ragako. A little over a third felt he was telling the truth, and the rest of the write-ins don’t trust him farther than they can throw him.
Who believes anything Zeke says now (besides Eren)?
I do, but the reason why everyone froze up wasn't because of the spinal fluid: it was the gas. If someone just ingests the spinal fluid normally, the signs aren't completely present. With the case of the wine, they didn't add any toxins to it: just Zeke's spinal fluid. What Zeke said about how someone ingesting his spinal fluid getting a coordinate on his/herself afterword to make them susceptible to Zeke's Titan transformation scream is true.
The only firm evidence we have is that Zeke's spinal fluid was involved, Everything else is supposition... damn Zekerets...
I still have my faith in the theory that he was a fake doctor, who delivered his spinal fluid in the form of medicine.
I don't trust a single word that Zeke says. I'm guessing the gas was a misdirection to throw suspicion off the wine, but it could still have been true, because no one was eaten in Ragako.
Believe' and 'Zeke' should not be in the same sentence together.
All of the Above
ANY SUGGESTIONS FOR THE TITLE OF THE BOOK ZEKE HAS READ 7 TIMES?
This is our first question with only a write-in option and it happened because we weren’t clever enough to think of any smart book titles on our own. The fandom came through with 774 people providing suggestions. Here are just a few:
"How to be a key player and still not reveal your true goals to anyone 101"
"How to convince your captors that you're innocently reading a book while you're actually plotting your escape"
"Levi will make it out of this" and other hilarious jokes you can tell yourself.
“Eren knew Reiner would save Falco” and other lies to tell yourself!”
"So you have one year left to live. One Hundred experiences you shouldn't miss out!"
DO YOU THINK LEVI IS GOING TO BE ABLE TO FULFILL HIS VOW? 1,651 Responses
The majority (41.2%) of voters think Levi will (eventually) kill Zeke, but around a third aren’t sure if he’ll be able to. 27.4% think Levi will die, possibly next chapter, before he has a chance to avenge Erwin’s death.
Levi will probably die (although I wish he wouldn't), so I hope Connie kills Zeke in his place. That's my only hope.
Levi can't die before his vow has been fulfilled, or else I will be sorely disappointed.
I think Levi will kill Zeke, therefore fulfilling his promise to Erwin, but will die in the process :(((
Levi kill Zeke already!
Zeke will have to die at some chapter, because Levi will fulfill his promise. Even if he dies in another scene, the Mike-like ambush won't happen again.
pls don't kill Levi isayama
I WANNA SEE LEVI CUT ZEKE'S BALLS OFF THAT MOTHERFUCKING MONKEY I KNEW HE SHOULDNT BE TRUSTED
WHO ARE YOU MOST ROOTING FOR? 1,651 Responses
With a new faction appearing in the last couple chapters, 50.3% of respondents are still rooting for the Survey Corps to come out on top. Next are those supporting Eren at 25.7%, followed by those rooting for no one.
if there was an option 'just Armin, Mikasa and Historia' in the 'Who are you most rooting for' question, I'd have taken it
As long as Eren doesn't hurt historia I'm still rooting for him
Please give me Reiner i want him to save the day like the true hero he is
Eren is pulling a Lelouch.
I pledge allegiance to the flag of The New Eldian Empire, and to the Republic for it stands, one Nation under Eren…
friendship ended with Eren now Reiner is my new best friend
Amazing how Eren manages to become more and more irredeemable with every passing chapter. Hopefully the warriors and Scouts team up to put down him and his maniacal brother.
WHAT ARE YOU MOST HOPING TO SEE NEXT CHAPTER? 1,652 Responses
1039 (62.9%) Levi’s titan battle 742 (44.9%) Flashback of Eren and Zeke in Marley 717 (43.4%) Information about Historia 704 (42.6%) Yeager brothers in Shiganshina 540 (32.7%) Warrior infiltration time 513 (31.1%) Uhh... did Falco ever make it out of that bathtub
Levi’s titan battle is tops on the wish list followed by a flashback on Eren and Zeke’s time in Marley. Information about Historia is third.
Some Goddamn insight into Eren's mind. (It's been 2 years Isa COME ON)
I would literally sell my soul to the devil for an Eren POV, a flashback to his time in Marley and an explanation of what the hell he's doing and why
Eren apologizing for hurting best girl's feelings
Floch getting shot in the face.
Floch kicking ass
So wait- did they really just leave Falco alone, naked, and probably Titan juiced in the restaurant? :(
Hange taking Mikasa Historia and preferably Annie and flying off to the Bahamas for an eternal vacation away from everyone's bullshit
Levi's survival and maybe a nice cup of tea.
Armin Vs. Eren Titan Battle
WHERE DO YOU PRIMARILY DISCUSS THE SERIES? 1,594 Responses
Reddit still reigns supreme with 44.3% of respondents, but Tumblr made a slight comeback up to 18% over only 11% last month. “I don’t” is third with 10.5% and 9.8% are lucky enough to discuss the series in real life.
ADDITIONAL THOUGHTS ON THE CHAPTER?
Lots of revelations, lots of suffering :(
Why Eren? Mikasa loves your stupid ass, ackerbond or not.
Friendship ended with Eren. Now Armin is my best friend.
I can't be more proud of armin he is my baby forever.
Amazing so far still hoping EM is a thing but its looking dim, Eren is now my waifu despite him being a jerk I love how much the dude doesn't give a shit.
Armin's gonna take at least a year to explain this shit storm to Annie once she wakes up
ARUMIKA/JEANKASA LIFEBOATS HAVE TONS OF ROOM! BE PREPARED TO ABANDON SHIP!
EMA was one of the main reasons why I was into this series and seeing Eren hurt MA like that makes me want to quit the series entirely.
Eren baby please get your shit together. Also fuck Zeke and Floch.
Eren becoming a villain was hinted since chapter 25 and by numerous characters (Levi, Annie, Reiner, Eren himself, Zeke - all before the timeskip). So Eren is probably being genuine, especially since the words he's saying to Mikasa and Armin are the same he said to Carla in the first chapter.
Eren did nothing wrong!
Eren hates that he has influenced Mikasa for so long. He's trying to break the Ackerbond so she can choose for herself in these trying times.
Eren is a bitch but I still love him
Armin and Mikasa did nothing wrong to deserve hear that crap of him, of all the people, the one who has 3 titans + a crazy half brother to influence him. Is Eren free? HAHAHAHA NOOOOOOOOOOOPE.
Even though I'm not the biggest fan of EMA what Eren has done is completely unacceptable, Zeke running and screaming is my mood, and please please please don't kill off Levi now Isayama or I'm gonna stab a bitch.
I'm heartbroken. I don't believe Eren hates Mikasa, and I'm sure he knows it. I won't pretend to understand his motivations at this point, I just know he's lying. The look on his face says it all. But Mikasa, my poor sweet girl. I wish she didn't have to go through all of this pain. Someone give her a hug ffs.
I found it funny when Eren was like “we’ve never fought, huh? That’s because I’d BEAT YOUR ASS!”
I love Eren but by god am I worried about the way the character is being handled. I hate the idea of him being so manipulated that he's almost a totally different person, I hate the idea of him being controlled and losing his agency... both of those just feel like cheating for a plot twist, y'know?
I love Isayama, but fuck him.
I think Isayama knocked it out of the park with the EMA scene. That shit will be remembered as the Grim Reminder 3.0 in matters of writing once this series is over.
I think this was a great chapter. What I find amazing is how quickly people stopped talking about Gabi after this chapter. While you might say that it's because she wasn't the focus, I think it's partially because of her (lack of violent) reaction to Eren. I think she clearly has more depth now and I am wondering what her role in the story will be.
I wish Jean had been at the table when Eren said that stuff to Mikasa.
I'm incredibly worried for Levi's safety, along with Mikasa's mental health and Armin's physical health. Eren's words created wounds that aren't going to heal quickly; It's going to take time. I'm beyond infuriated at Zeke, and I hope he gets what he deserves.
I’m not sure how I feel about this series anymore because this chapter. I get a almost a years worth of Gabi, Galliard, and Zeke whom I really don’t like and then when the characters I actually like reappear they become jerks, fools, or they bite the cursed dust. I know I sound so salty lol.
Floch being a douche beyond my wildest expectations, Eren's entrance, the fight, the tears, the child who had no reason to be there caught up in all of it, Zeke running away like he was some kind of Looney Toons' character. Brilliant. Absolutely brilliant. This was the most enjoyable chapter in a very long time.
Seeing Gabi terrified of Eren while he was talking to Mikasa and Armin was amazing, she finally realizes that this is the person that was responsible for the attack on Marley. Eren is this devil that she was told that she will need to kill, but when she is finally in a room with him she is full of fear.
Zeke, that jerk. Once I get his hands on him-
Eren... I still like him a lot, but damn, that was such an intense roast he did toward Mikasa and Armin. I think it'll lead to some interesting development for the latter, but I really wonder if Eren was really bluffing his hatred toward Mikasa and has an ulterior motive behind what he did. That'll be interesting to find out!
When Levi said a long time ago "It might rain Titans", do you think Zeke read his mind through paths and made his thoughts come true? Other than that, Eren's villainy is continuing. I'm not sure whether to cackle "Let the world burn" or cuff him around the ear for making Mikasa cry!
This chapter has DEVASTATED me. I already heard warning bells when I saw the cover with EMA being so adorable, and hated being proven right when the chapter came out. The bond between EMA was the thing I rooted for the most in this series, the purest thing in the SnK universe. Eren and Armin have both died for each other. Mikasa would have too, if she wasn't already an immortal goddess. The strength of their bond is something that has been made apparent since chapter 1. Together, they are almost unstoppable, invincible, and Isayama has taken even that away from us. Thanks, I hate it.
Every part of this chapter was brilliantly executed. Although, I am somehow always surprised at how wildly different reader interpretations end up being whenever Isayama teases us with purposeful ambiguity. This chapter was extremely polarizing, but as always, I think the answer to the truthfulness of each of Eren's claims (hating Mikasa, Ackermen being robotic slaves to their bond, being free, etc.) is somewhere in the middle.
