Wings in the Dark Chapter 30: Stability
AN:  *Comes back after a year since this was written, grabs the old an about coming back with a bang and throws it in the trash, turns to the audience*
SO
I am a year or so or however long its been older and wiser and a pending bipolar and/or adhd diagnosis in limbo until I drag my ass to the doctor, cat got hit by a car, really bad financial drama happened at work that may have been the worst stressor ever we will NOT get into--THINGS HAPPENED!
And I know better than to make any promises with my fickleness, but i'm trying, this story is always in my brain (As well as a sw fanfic but that's not for here) and I have no intention of leaving this story untold, I even came back with new ideas to add to the space of five years between fall of the wall and appearance of Eren I was puzzling over when i went on hiatus. BUT we have all seen the patterns, I will go on hiatus' and randomly come back with more chapters. Hopefully this time I stick with it a bit longer, I had at least two chapters written before I disappeared, so you'll AT LEAST get those.
Oh, and before I turn it over to the content, year+ ago me wanted you to know I was getting back into writing the characters and to forgive characterization inconsistencies while I got back into it, this chapter went through 5 rewrites before it got to this state, and apparently had some whiplash with the song vibes as I was listening to Call of Silence from the OST and Till It Hurts by Yellow Claw on a two song repeat writing this last draft.
Also, new WITD divider image from saradika-graphics here on tumblr
Okay, have fun! I'm going to go work on chapter 32! I'll tell you where I'm at writing wise NOW when we get to that chapter O.o

*Reader’s POV*
The state of the Underground hadn’t gotten any better since you’d last been here.
Not that you expected it to, the place reeked, was drenched in filth and stale air, and there were people lurking in the shadows that were either on death’s door or were leering at passerby’s waiting for someone that looked like an easy mark or seemed to have something worth taking.
While you and Emery traveled into the depths of the dark city, you glared at anyone that looked your way and thought the fresh and youthful faced Emery was an easy mark, easily scaring them off with your more imposing presence that threatened death at best if they tried to mark your companion for their crimes.  Emery, at least, seemed to have heard enough stories about the Underground, or had indeed taken to heart your many warnings and briefings on the way down here, and stayed a half step behind you the whole time despite his own vampiric strength being capable of keeping him safe from nearly every thug and shadowy individual the two of you passed.
It was a good thing you’d been careful to teach him how to block out sensory information before delving down here–he’d only gagged seven times since coming down here when his concentration slipped, which wasn’t bad at all.
As you reached the darker depths of the Underground, the places where the shadows loomed darker, the mud never truly dried, and a presence of dread pressed upon passerbys, you gestured for Emery to follow you into one of the abandoned buildings a couple blocks in, allowing the two of you at least a moment to pause and make sure you were both prepared for what came next.
Namely, Emery.
When you turned to look at him, you could see even in the shut in darkness of the empty warehouse how pale he looked, and not just from thirst.  There was a tremble in his hand, and he swallowed painfully loudly when your gaze met his.
“I don’t want to do this,” Emery hissed softly into the darkness.  He’d been gradually getting worse as the days passed, and you had discovered he’d been preying on birds and squirrels and other small animals that happened to be in the immediate area around the cave in an attempt to keep himself satiated.  However, there wasn’t enough to keep the thirst at bay, and eventually he’d had no choice but to relent and follow you to satisfy the craving.  That didn’t mean that he fully agreed.  Or that he was willing.  He was just running out of options, and the hunger was starting to take precedence, even over his morality.
Considering he was digging in his heels again, though, that resistance was still there.
You sighed, running your fingers through your hair under your cloak as you gazed back at the terrified young man.  “Emery, we’ve been through this–”
“No, I know what you’re going to say, but I can’t do this, I don’t want to kill anyone,” Emery hissed back in the darkness, panic coloring his tone.
“I understand that, believe me, I do–”
“No, you don’t, not really, otherwise you wouldn’t be pushing me to do this, you wouldn’t have done this yourself, I don’t want to be a monster–” Emery panicked, starting to work himself into hysterics.  You had to get a grasp on this before it spiraled out of control.
Burying the slash of pain in your chest at the statement calling you and what you’d done to survive in the past monstrous, you carefully stepped up to the young man who was starting to hyperventilate in front of you, placing gentle hands on his arms to try and soothe him.  “Emery, breathe…deep breaths…you need to settle down, before you draw attention to us,” you told him seriously but in as gentle of a tone as you could manage, trying to catch his gaze as it darted around at your surroundings.
You’d been slowly refining this speech for this moment, specifically, and you sincerely hoped that it was going to be good enough to convince him, this time.
“I do understand, because I’ve been where you’re at, right now.  And in the past I was so scared of myself and of hurting–killing–other people, I tried to die before I could.  Clearly it didn’t work, but…I do understand that fear,” you said steadily, feeling a brief flash of relief when Emery looked at you with wide eyes at the little bit of yourself you offered him to get him to see that you did, in fact, understand the feelings he was struggling with.  “I don’t want to make you a monster or a murderer, Emery.  I’m trying to help you avoid that, in the long run.  But right now, it can’t be helped.  You have to drink to survive.  But you don’t have the control for a donor even if I could find you one, the forest animals aren’t enough for you to live on, and the animals not only are vital to the people starving because of a food shortage right now, but as long as you’re drinking from them, you’re never going to be able to learn the control to be around people again without being a threat to them.  It’s ugly, and dark, and messy, and bloody, but you have to go through this stage first before you can get better.”
You squeezed his shoulders in reassurance, making sure to hold his gaze.  “You don’t have to go through this alone like I did, though.  I’m here to help you, okay?  You’ll get through this, and eventually you won’t have to kill to survive anymore.  But you have to get through this part, first, and that’s what I’m trying to help you do, but you have to let me.”
Emery’s eyes seemed to shine even in the darkness, expression distraught and lost as his shoulders sagged under your hands.  “I can’t…I can’t take hurting anyone else.  I can’t do it…”
Your heart throbbed, looking up and around at the warehouse around you as if it might give you answers, while the teenager in front of you struggled not to sob with the enhanced despair crushing down on his too-pure soul for this bloody life.
There was no way you were going to get him to hunt on his own tonight.  He wasn’t capable of that same thing you could do where you could mentally and emotionally distance yourself from the kill, compartmentalize it into a dark bloody box in the recesses of your mind and let it hurt like a dull ache at the bottom of your heart when your thoughts wandered to its contents.  But he needed blood, or he was going to get dangerous, and he needed to start learning this so he could be more self-sufficient.  You couldn’t keep leaving him to small fuzzy animals in the wilds and the dark solitude of a cave, which was all he would get if he didn’t make this step.
…you could at least meet him halfway.  He wasn’t ready to do this himself, wasn’t ready for a kill, was in no state for it tonight and probably wouldn’t be for some time still.  But there were still things you could do to compromise, to help him make progress without pushing him to do this thing he was terrified to do, and justifiably.
You could save the philosophical discussion about killing to survive and if vampires killing for the blood they needed to live fell into that grace area or not another time, when he was well fed and you weren’t standing in an abandoned building in one of the more dangerous parts of the Underground.  Right now, you just had to get him to feed.
“Okay.  I’m not going to make you do something you can’t do, Emery,” you tell him softly, and his shaking, half sobbed breaths caught for a moment at the statement.  You didn’t judge him for how quickly he fell into tears and sobs, knowing he was still struggling with the emotional control and this was, after all, a highly charged and emotional topic–and he was, immortal or not, a literal kid–a teenager.  “But you still need to learn to hunt properly, and we need to start actively teaching you control.  I’ll do the dirty work tonight.  I’ll teach you how to do the hunt, you’ll do most of it under my supervision, but I’ll make the kill and you can have the blood afterwards.  It will still be good long enough for you to take what you need, it takes a little while for the blood to go stagnant and…sour, so to speak, to dead man’s blood.”
Emery still looked ill, but he recognized this compromise you were offering him for the gift it was.  Not having to do the act itself…he would still be complicit, yes, but at least his hands wouldn’t be directly bloody.  That’s what you were thinking, anyway, why you offered it.
“I don’t know if I can…choose who lives and dies like that,” Emery said in a hushed tone, though his shaking had eased and he seemed to be calming down.
“Then I’ll pick the target–this time.  I’ll show you how it’s done, and you just watch…you don’t have to watch me kill them, though.  Just be ready to hurry over to start drinking before the blood can go stale.  Deal?” you compromised again.
Emery hesitated.  He was far too gentle.  Whoever had made this poor kid into a vampire was cruel, putting someone with this much kindness and passivity in his heart into this position where he had to spill blood to survive, where being around people tempted him to go into a blood haze, to rend and murder anyone in its path, until he could gain control of his new alien bloodlust.
Gentle hearts did not mix well with vampirism.  This wasn’t going to be easy for him.  In fact, it was likely to be more hellish on the heart and soul for Emery than it had been for you.  After you had turned, you'd gradually discovered steel in your spine and fire in your heart; that you could be sharp as a blade and hard as the walls when you needed to survive.  Either Emery didn't have that at all, or he just hadn't found it yet.
Hopefully the latter was the case, for both your sakes.
“Okay,” he murmured in a voice so soft you almost didn’t hear it.  He seemed to go weak in the knees after agreeing, like his agreement to the bloodshed had been some kind of physical blow.
You gave him an awkward pat on the shoulder before you released him, keeping an eye on him to make sure he wasn’t going to sway and topple over once you let him go before you turned your attention back to the Underground that stretched out around you outside the abandoned building.
“We’ll talk more about survival and morality and everything else, later.  First…I’ll get you some blood,” you murmured, steps sure all the way to the doorway, waiting until Emery reluctantly fell into step behind you before your footsteps turned into a hunter’s prowl, and you started the ritual you hadn’t needed to execute since Levi had offered you the alternative you wished desperately to give the gentle-hearted kid you’d been teaching the past few weeks.
Later.  You could reflect on this later.  For now…the hunt.

*Levi’s POV*
She was back much earlier than he’d been expecting.
Levi had gone through his tea a lot faster than normal, already on the third cup and having switched from regular black tea to poking through his options once or twice to try and find something that would help him stay awake and alert like he wanted but would also help calm down his damn nerves.  He was seated at one of the corner tables that gave him a better chance at being overlooked by any late night visitors, one hand continued to fill out the paperwork he’d brought to distract him between the page turns and the time it took him to read what was in front of him, while the other traced along the rim of his freshly made cup of tea, still fresh enough that steam wafted into the air a few shades lighter than the smoke burning from the candle flame.  He’d found it ridiculously difficult to focus on his paperwork, yet his gaze kept flickering to the candle shedding the light he was working by, unable to stop looking as it slowly melted, tracking each half hour that she was down there in the Underdark.  It felt like he was hyper aware of every minute that slipped by, which made it frustratingly difficult to successfully distract himself with his work while he waited for her return.
He had yet to successfully distract himself and stop glancing over at the candle when she did appear, still wrapped up in her plain cloak with a deep frown marring her features as she stepped inside, immediately garnering Levi’s attention.
“What the hell are you doing back so early?” Levi asked, paperwork quickly forgotten at the sight of her.  The only reasons she would be back this early was if something had gone very wrong, or if things had progressed much faster and smoother than she had been anticipating.
Given their track record with the Underground, Levi wasn’t going to get his hopes high that it was anything other than bad.
Y/N’s gaze flickered over to him, but she didn’t deviate from her course towards the kitchens.  “Let me get something to drink, first, and I’ll tell you what happened,” she offered.
As she passed, Levi did a quick glance over her just to make sure she was at least outwardly fine.  No blood on her cloak, though she usually washed away any she may have gotten on her before returning to headquarters, she wasn’t moving strange, there wasn’t anything that looked scuffed or dirty, she didn’t seem to be hurt–aside from the frown, she seemed fine, which was a bit of consolation despite the concern her early return and the frown on her face stirred up.
Even though he could see that outwardly, physically, she was fine, he still didn’t wait.  She’d barely entered the kitchen before he decided he was going to follow, getting up to enter the kitchen after her, where she had already discovered the tea kettle Levi had been using, teacup in hand and ready to start making herself the usual cup of chamomile.
Levi crossed the room before she could even finish turning around to face him, a bit of surprise on her face when she found him already in her personal space, one of his hands reaching out to cover her hand resting on the teacup, keeping both hand and cup still against the counter while keeping her in place as his other hand reached out to brace against the counter on her other side.  He studied her closer, attempting to gauge from her eyes and the way she was acting just how bad it had been.
“Tell me what happened,” Levi said, firm enough to be borderline a command, but soft enough that his voice betrayed the worry that was spurring on the inquiry that couldn’t even wait for her to brew a cup of tea.
Y/N’s startled expression only stayed for a few more moments before it softened, a hand coming up to rest on his cheek with her fingertips curling gently along his jawline to soothe him.  It did work a bit–he couldn’t help the way he reacted to the touch, the warmth and the comfort that started to spread through him at such a tender gesture–though it didn’t erase the worry coursing through him.
“Nothing serious happened, Levi, not in the way you’re probably thinking right now,” she soothed him, though his tension didn’t melt away due to the spark of worry she couldn’t hide in her eyes–there was still something to be concerned about.  “There weren’t any hunters, there weren’t any hitches in the hunt itself, no other vampires crept up–nothing serious like that.”
“But something still happened,” Levi deadpanned, gaze unwavering from her own, especially since it kept giving her away–the flash of unease at his statement, for example.  Her eliminating other vampires and hunters and remarking that the hunt went smoothly meant that it had to be Emery, based on what information Levi did have.
Did the bloodlust come a little too easily for her to be comfortable?  Did she get more confirmation of his ripper tendencies?  She spoke highly of the kid’s character, or at the very least kept reiterating how he was tender and gentle and good hearted, but Levi had not–and she had better not–forgotten what he was capable of, the potential violence he could grow into and the kind of real monster it could breed.  All the kindness and even personal bonds in the world wasn’t enough in the face of a vampire’s first years of thirst, as Y/N’s gruesome story of how she’d been turned and the butcher Emery had caused at the scent of blood bleakly attested to.
Standing this close to her, he could still smell a faint whiff of the Underground on her, and alongside it, the faintest hint of blood.  Something he didn’t expect to catch on her if Emery was the one that was supposed to be doing the killing.
Before he could finish making the connections, she finally spoke up, sighing wearily before she let her hand trail down from his cheek to rest gently over his heart, the other hand still trapped within Levi’s own against the counter.
“Emery couldn’t do it, so I had to,” she finally said.  “I don’t know how much of a role his heightened emotions that he still hasn’t gotten control of play in it, how much of it is stalwartly at his core, but he’s just too…soft-hearted.  Normally I say being a gentle person isn’t a bad thing, but in this case he just…started to shatter on the spot, fell right into hysterics, could not do it, so I had to compromise.  Told him to watch and try to learn what I was doing, but I would do the actual hunt and he could reap the results so he’s not still starving up in that mountain.”
She looked off to the side where the tea kettle was still sitting as she spoke.  “I don’t know what I’m going to do if he can’t get past this, make this work in a way for him that will allow him a bit of self sufficiency when it comes to his survival.  I’m not even sure how to teach him this if this is my starting point, I wasn’t expecting it to be at this point.  If he can’t get past this, if he continues to outright refuse like he did tonight…I can’t hunt for him forever, he can’t feed on animals, he won’t be able to compel anyone for decades–I can’t even do that yet.  I’m not sure what to do with him, now.”
Levi had listened closely through her explanation, studying her quietly and turning over the information she gave him in his mind as he considered what he should say, taking care to try and figure out the right words to use considering this was a topic that touched on some sensitive topics she was still carrying around with her.  Since she was still looking away as she finished speaking, Levi reached out to gently grasp her chin and tilt her head back towards him, thumb briefly stroking side to side across her chin.
On the one hand, the news was quick to rile his anger, gaze narrowing slightly to hear that she had needed to take matters into her own hands and get even more blood on them, even though she was supposed to be finally free of taking human life to survive with Levi providing her blood, instead.  She was supposed to be working to wash the blood off like she had told him was part of her intention for being here, now that she wasn’t adding any more–or wasn’t supposed to be, anyway.  They’d been arguing about the risk to her going back Underground, how much danger it put her in–Levi hadn’t even brought up how crucial of a part she was starting to play in the Scouts and how putting her in danger was also threatening to deal a harsh blow to the Scouts and their improving death rates arguably when it mattered most that they continue to progress.  She was taking these risks, putting herself back in danger, now getting more blood on her hands to try and help this kid, and he wasn’t making an attempt to make this work?  She wasn’t talking about backing out, she was upset about not knowing what to do next to help him.  If she kept going down there and doing this for the young vampire, if she kept putting herself in increasing danger and he continued to refuse to follow what she was trying to teach him…
He could see this ending very badly if it continued in this direction, and could see her bearing the brunt of it.  But he could also see why she was doing it, why she was still inclined to find a way to make it work.  What she saw of this kid told her that he was a good kid–too good, ironically, since therein lay the crux of the issue–and it was a reassurance that he didn’t take human life so lightly, that it was something he was truly struggling with…
But it wasn’t so cut and dry.  Emery’s decisions about this were going to have an impact far beyond him, were going to affect Y/N, and by extension the Scouts.  And if he didn’t learn to control himself, didn’t put in the work–as bloody as it was–to get to a similar place as Y/N, then a lot of people–more innocent people–were going to suffer and die along the way for it, either directly or indirectly.  There wasn’t really a good choice here, but when the hell was there?  The choice the kid had in front of him was to either learn to control himself, not hurt as many people, and try to direct the carnage away from the more innocent until he developed the control and connections to get to a similar place as Y/N in the future, or he could continue to refuse, never really learning how to control his thirst, any human that bleeds around him always under great threat, some even just needing to get near him to be in danger, and Y/N possibly suffering deadly consequences for it–Levi could lose her along that path despite having just started to really have her in his life, not to mention the Scouts and Humanity would lose their best weapon against the titans and chance for more people surviving in that worse case scenario.
Levi knew exactly what choice Emery should make, in Levi’s mind–Levi would have already made it by now if he could.  The second choice wasn’t an option Levi was going to accept, at least not to that extent.  It didn’t make the first choice right, per say–Levi and Y/N had already had the complicated discussions about her old diet, and Levi had already made his feelings on the matter clear back then.  But Levi wasn’t going to let the situation develop to the point that many people suffered for the inaction of one teenage vampire.  And if Emery wanted to follow along the second path, then Y/N wasn’t going to get caught in the crossfires for it, she’d have to cut her losses before the situation got any worse.
Levi’s hand tightened around Y/N’s as he came to his resolution, gaze roaming over her features.  This could easily become another fight...
“You’re not going to have to hunt for him anymore,” Levi said decisively.  Y/N’s gaze turned wary in the face of the hard edge in Levi’s eyes, and Levi let go of her chin and pushed away, taking the teacup that had been in her hand in the process as he headed over to the tea kettle.
“I will if I can’t get him out of his own head and convince him to actually hunt, which was what I was trying to do before we went out today…not that it worked.”
Levi took a few seconds to start making her tea for her, giving himself the little extra time to put the right words together.
“You see yourself in him,” Levi stated, simply summing up the conversation they’d had the night they’d returned from the chaos of the fall of Wall Maria.  “You want to treat him gently, because you wish someone had been there for you that way when you first turned.”
Her silence was enough confirmation for him to continue.
“But you can’t.  Back then, there was only you at stake.  For him, there’s a hell of a lot more damage that’ll be done if this goes south,” Levi said flatly, coming back over to where she was standing to hand her the cup.  She took it wordlessly, but the look on her face was…less than pleased.  Well, she wasn’t going to get any happier with what else he had to say.
“He’s not you, and you’re not him, so stop comparing.  You were able to figure out your situation and make quick choices to survive and stuck with it, took the consequences.  He’s indecisive and dragging his feet, making a shitstorm that could affect a hell of a lot more people.  He doesn’t need coddled right now.  He needs to get a face-full of the reality of the situation he’s in and make a choice.  That way you know if you need to get out before you pay for it, or if he’s going to step up and put in some effort to survive.”
Y/N hesitated, both hands curled around her cup.  “I don’t want to push him too hard too fast, it’s always like he’s a few seconds away from shattering.  And it’s hard to be harsh with him, knowing what he’s going through, how terrifying it all is.”
We’re all just a bunch of bleeding hearts, it seems.
Levi sighed, folding his arms across his chest and leaning back against the table behind him, fixing his stare on her.  “If you won’t give him a reality check, then I will.”
Her head snapped up at that, gaze a lot sharper and focused now, eyes narrowed on him.  “I thought we were done having the discussion of why that’s a bad idea, and you going anywhere near him isn’t going to happen?”
“The situation’s changed.  Again.  If you don’t want to push him, then someone else needs to step in and do it.  I’m the obvious choice.”
As always, at this rate.
“Levi–”
“No,” Levi cut her off, tone a bit harsher than he intended.  “It’d be safer if I wasn’t around him, he doesn’t have control, I know, you’ve made all that clear.  He already knows you have a human…” Levi paused, not sure he knew what the hell to label himself in this situation.  “...whatever, and part of the reason you’ve been allowed to go forward with this is your insistence you can control him.”
“I’m not setting up a meeting between you two.  It’d be too dangerous, too unpredictable and–”
“And the titans aren’t?” Levi snapped back.  “If I can handle you in a spar, I can handle the kid.  Between the two of us, we can manage if he loses his shit.”
He wasn’t insane enough to go alone, otherwise he’d have just done it himself already.  And the two of them were the best equipped to handle vampires.  Sure, there were all kinds of ways it could go, but if both of them were there and prepared to do damage control, they had a better chance of keeping the situation contained with little to no fallout.
And this would give him the chance to size up Emery for himself and get a good read on the kid.
“I’m not dangling you in front of Emery with how little control he has–he may not even be capable of listening to you around any bloodlust he ends up having, which would defeat the whole point of you meeting him.”
“If you want to help this kid, I can’t go to Erwin with ‘it didn’t go well, the kids refusing to learn, Y/N doesn’t know what to do’.  Erwin will cut the loss,” Levi said flatly.  “You’ve been trying to prepare him for this your way–it didn’t work.  Even if he ends up too blood crazy to speak to, I can’t give you any better advice until I see for myself.”
The two of them had a stare down in silence for several long moments, waiting to see who would back out, first.  Levi wasn’t going to budge.  He’d let her try, let her have her way, they’d scrapped over it, he’d relented, but now…now, she really did need him involved if this was going to work.  She was being far too gentle with Emery at the moment.
Not that Levi didn’t pity the poor kid.  Y/N had been an adult when she was turned, albeit barely.  This kid was in the middle of his teenage years, which probably didn’t help with the erratic emotions.  And it truly was a shit situation to be in, to be a freshly turned vampire–even worse at a time like this with the recent fall of a wall and massive food shortage.  But pitying the situation wasn’t going to do anything to get him out of it, and pity wasn’t going to do shit in making sure the kid wasn’t frozen up decision wise anymore and not putting himself and Y/N at risk.
“Fine.  Fine.” Y/N finally relented, looking away and taking a long drink out of her cup, looking more frustrated than Levi had seen her in a while.  “But we’re doing it my way.  How we arrange and go about it, I mean,” she added when she saw Levi was about to correct her.  Giving Emery a reality check was going to be done Levi’s way.
“Sooner, not later,” Levi stressed.
“I know, just…give me time to give him the heads up first, try to talk about what happened and tell him you’re going to be coming to meet him, because of how…poorly, it went.”
“I’ll make sure you have free time today to go see him.”
“And when you two do meet, we’ll do it during the day, so you can have the added protection of the sun.  You can stand outside the cave, and he won’t be able to come near you, not even if he was in a blood frenzy.  Though it’ll also be more of a trip, since we’re headed up a mountain on the northwestern side of Wall Sina.”
“We can get an official excuse set up with Erwin.”
A silence fell over the room between them, Y/N continuing to sip on the tea.  He still had his in the other room, and paperwork, but there were more personal things he wanted to do and say with her…They probably needed to leave the mess hall, anyway.  It was only an old habit that had Levi set up here to wait for her this time, but if Emery got over his indecision and they kept going to the Underground while he learned, then in the future…
“Let me get my shit, and we’ll head up to my office.  Last thing we need is some moon eyed rookie wandering in while we’re talking,” Levi said to break the silence, getting up to head back to the dining area.  Y/N finished her tea and shadowed him without hesitation, staying a couple steps behind along the way.
Levi started to gather up the paperwork, trying to get the tea he’d left sitting by the papers down before they left and while there was still heat to it.  As he did, Y/N came up behind him, her hand brushing gently along his back and remaining on his shoulder blade as she leaned over beside him, helping him gather up the candles and a fair share of his stack.
Levi felt a little of his inner tension drain away at the touch and gesture.  She wasn’t angry at him, then, and no fight.  Some resistance, some frustration…but no fight.  Good…good, she understood, she accepted it, they weren’t going to have to muscle through another rocky spot with each other.  She was going to accept the help.
She had asked.  She might not like the way he was going to help, but she had asked for help when she opened up to him about not knowing what to do about the situation.
“Do you want help with some of this?”
Levi glanced over at the half of the stack she had in her hand.  It was a lot of paperwork, he’d left enough to keep him busy through the night on purpose.  But he needed to actually take in the information, put his own signature on things…
“No.”
She looked at him, studying his expression as he leaned over to add the small stack he’d already worked through on top.  As he straightened, she leaned over to kiss his cheek, holding the stack in her arms tighter to her.
“I’ll just help where I can fill in information, then,” she mused, already pulling away to start walking now that they had everything gathered between the two of them.
“Tch…”
But he didn’t say she shouldn’t, and the sound of protest was soft.  He didn’t actually mind…it was a good excuse for her to stay a bit longer.
The hour was still late enough that their trip from the mess hall to Levi's office was undisturbed, a comfortable silence between them as they traversed the halls.  Once inside, Levi still made sure that the door was locked behind them to make sure no one could interrupt, just in case.  He didn't expect anyone to come knocking at this time of night if Y/N was already here, but with their track record, he'd rather be safe than sorry.
Levi and Y/N both made their way to his desk, setting their respective piles on the surface before they took seats at opposite sides of the desk. Levi shook his head at her insistence to pitch in with his paperwork, but didn't protest, and they fell into a comfortable routine surprisingly fast.
There were the usual finished and unfinished stacks, of course, but Y/N had also created smaller stacks by the unfinished pile, one that was paperwork she'd filled out for him but still needed read or signed, and another for pages she couldn't help with.  As they both added to or took from the piles, their knuckles would occasionally brush against one another, fingertips lingering the few times she handed him a document when they would finish at the same time.
Levi found the work going by much faster, more comfortably, with her there…and not just because she was doing a small portion of it for him.  The pages went by faster, the work didn't feel so tiring, and suddenly there were only a few stray papers in the piles she'd sorted for him left to do.  Y/N had wandered over to the couch once she'd done what she could, laying down with a soft whoosh of air that barely resembled a sigh.  She didn't speak while Levi continued to work, the candlelight growing smaller and the shadows longer until Levi decided enough was enough.  What remained were pages he could do in the morning, there were other things he could be doing right now–and wanted to do.
Levi carefully removed his cravat, fingers brushing against the bandage he'd forgotten was hidden beneath.  It definitely stopped bleeding by now, he could probably take the damned thing off.
It was a slight detour, but he came back minus a jacket, cravat, and bandage, the small bite wound properly cleaned up and hardly noticeable, and Y/N was still stretched out on the couch, having not made a sound or so much as twitched.
…Dammit, she's asleep, isn't she?
Levi didn't even have to come all the way around the couch to confirm it, he could peer over the edge and see that she was passed out asleep, lips parted, head turned into the cushions and pillowed under one arm, breathing slow and deep.
So much for spending a bit of one on one time together before getting some sleep.  He’d been hoping to have a bit of time to set aside business and the serious stuff and simply reassure himself that she was all right and with him, but if this was the most he would get…
His sigh was admittedly a disappointed one, even as he leaned against the edge of the couch with folded arms and watched her for a few moments.  How comfortable did she have to be around him to fall asleep on the not-that-comfortable couch that quickly, and with so little fuss?
She’d come a long way to get where she was now.  To go from scared barely adult just turned vampire driven underground, to now a cornerstone member of the Scouts (even if it was behind closed doors, only), improving the safety of the formations so they didn’t lose as many people, making plans that actually sounded plausible with Hange to help them capture and learn more about titans, she had friends, she had him–whatever they were, Levi still didn’t know what to label it.  She’d come here to find a way to make her abilities as a vampire helpful to other people, to make the lives she’d had to take in order to survive and stay strong enough to survive worth something, and so far, it seemed she was in step with that goal.
And he wasn’t going to let anyone threaten to destroy that progress, not when she’d crawled her way here over the past few decades and was just starting to get a taste of freedom and happiness again, despite the insanity of all the ways the world seemed to be going to shit right now.
Levi straightened up from the couch and made his way over by the door, where his Scout cloak was hanging up.  He snatched it off its hook without even looking, coming back over to where Y/N had passed out on his couch and carefully throwing it over the sleeping woman’s shoulders, taking the time to make sure that it was arranged in a way that would be comfortable for her and actually keep her warm.  His hand lingered briefly on her shoulder, gazing at her still sleeping form for a few seconds before he made himself pull away, heading over to the desk to finish off those last few pages of paperwork he would have made wait for morning if she’d still been awake.  Hopefully, when he finished, he’d be able to catch a few hours of sleep, himself.
Tumblr media
He did, of course, finish his paperwork not long after his discovery that Y/N had fallen asleep, and after making sure the fire would last a bit longer into the night and everything was where it needed to be, he had settled back into the chair behind his desk, closing his eyes and simply listening to the soft sound of her breaths in the room and the crackle of the fire.  He didn’t even notice when the moment of peace turned to drowsiness, or how quickly he fell asleep after those first few content moments just listening and relishing the moment.
When he started to come to again, it was to the crackle of a fresh fire, the faintest aroma of black tea leaves in the room, the pouring of water and light chink of porcelain, soft, barely heard steps and movements…
Levi was still lifting his head, still coming to a full awareness of the room around him when the steps drew closer, and the lightest touch brushed across his shoulder, causing him to tense for the first few heartbeats that he didn’t know where it was coming from before the familiar voice followed the tender touch.
“Good morning,” Y/N’s voice said softly just off to his side, causing Levi to blearily blink open his eyes to peer up at her, squinting against the light but relaxing against her touch once he realized it was her.  He felt her lips press gently against the top of his head, feeling a warmth slowly settle over him at the affection that made it a little more difficult to shake off the morning grogginess.
His neck was a little stiff from how he’d been sleeping slouched over in his chair.  He was also realizing that something was draped over him, giving him a thin shield against the chill of the room until the fire warmed it again, hand rising underneath it to discover the familiar feel of his cloak against his fingers.  She must have put it around him in turn when she’d woken up.
“I just started heating up water for tea, it shouldn't be too long,” she continued in her quiet tone, and Levi hummed in response, leaning into the gentle touch upon his shoulder blade now that he realized it was her.  He could certainly use the tea right now, he might have actually gotten a couple hours last night, and it was taking him a few seconds to shake himself out of the sleepy, guard down stupor.
Speaking of last night…
Levi started to sit up, hair tickling along his eyebrows, one hand tugging the cloak down, allowing it to fall to his lap.  “You fell asleep before I could finish my work,” he rumbled, voice still sounding gruff even to his ears from just waking up.
What time was it?  How much later than normal was it?  His paperwork was done, at least, but he had meetings he had to do with Erwin now, training they still had to go through, coordinating with Y/N later about the Emery situation…
Depending on how much he’d slept in, he didn’t have the time to do what he’d been hoping for last night.  If she hadn’t fallen asleep, he could have spent a couple hours with her winding down from the day without any work in the way, but now, the day was already calling–especially because he may be running behind.
Y/N’s hand slipped away from his shoulder, her footsteps moving away from him and likely over to finish making the tea.  “I didn’t mean to–I guess I just got too comfortable?  One minute I was just listening to you and the next–”
It was too soon after waking up to be trying to navigate to the right words right now.  She thought he was complaining about her sleeping in his office?  Even though he’d already allowed her to use his bedroom for her recoveries to be in peace in the past?  And they’d both stayed in these quarters during his own recovery?
Levi’s hand threaded through his hair, brushing it out of his face and resting his head in his hand while his gaze relocated and tracked her as she moved around to make the tea.  His other hand draped the cloak out of the way on the back of his chair for the time being.
“I didn’t say you couldn’t,” he corrected her in a low mumble.  “Falling asleep here was fine–if you needed the rest, then knock yourself out.”
…he didn’t mind when she fell asleep in here.  He liked having her close, and seeing her that relaxed and comfortable in his presence had been…well, like many of the moments with her, it had been warm, and gave him a little taste of a content feeling, even if she wasn’t awake to engage with him like he’d been hoping for.  But he relished in the quiet moments of companionship and peace her presence tended to bring, and that was the important part.
So long as she wasn’t obvious enough about it for people to figure out she was staying in his quarters instead of her own, he wouldn’t mind if it became a regular thing–he thought he may relish it, as well.
“Oh?” she asked.  Her back was to him, so he couldn’t see how she was reacting to what he told her.  He could just study her posture, the way she shifted her feet, the slight tilt of her head–she was acting casual, but he was fairly certain she was about to fish for more.  “Then…what has you disgruntled?  Besides just waking up, I mean.”
“Tch.”
The small noise was mostly drowned out by the huffed sigh he let out at the question, momentarily agitated that she was catching onto his residual disappointment in missing out on his plans for the night before.  His fingers unthreaded from his hair, propping up his chin instead as she finally turned around to face him.
“I had shit I was going to do once you got back,” he grumbled, unable to help but sulk a little at the thought.  If she hadn’t come back so early it had required an immediate discussion, if they hadn’t gotten busy with the paperwork, if she hadn’t fallen asleep afterwards…he’d just wanted more than just a few moments to hold her close to him, kiss her, reassure himself that she was okay, and take his sweet time doing it.
She came over to stand by his desk again, offering him the fresh cup of tea without a word, which Levi took carefully from her, fingers brushing gently, briefly, against hers as he examined the color, giving it a few more seconds to finish steeping before he took a sip.
She may have rushed putting it together a little, but it was as good as she usually made it.
She moved to lean against his desk, drawing Levi’s gaze sidelong to her with the teacup paused a few inches away from a second drink.  “You know, you could…do whatever you wanted to last night, now.  We have a bit of time.  Maybe not as much, but still, some.”
…She may have a point.  He didn’t have the time now to do as much, he couldn’t hold her however long he felt like it, afterwards, he had things he needed to start doing, since he may already be off to a late start.  That didn’t mean he couldn’t do anything though.  He could prioritize what he wanted the most, something that would get him by until they had the chance again, and steal a few moments before starting the day–he already had a late start, anyway, and it was a day that started when he decided.  What was a few more stolen moments at the start?
Levi set his teacup aside, making sure it was well out of the way and not in danger of being knocked over as he turned to face her more fully, gaze roaming over her as he debated how he wanted to use the time they still had before the day’s work demanded their attention.  He couldn’t just hold her to him in the silence of the room as long as he would want, but he could pull her close, feel how real and solid she was against him, reassure himself she was okay and things were good between them, not tense and strained.
His hand reached out for her sleeve to tug her closer to him, guiding her around the desk and over to where he was still seated behind the desk.  Once she was easily within his arm’s reach, Levi pulled her to him with a bit more strength, hearing her gasp as she was pulled in, his arm wrapping around her waist to hold her tightly to him as she fell into him.  She caught herself, keeping her balance with her knee laying across his lap and her other foot stretched out behind her to keep herself stable, her hands placed instinctively against his chest to assist in keeping her balance with the close proximity.  Once she was where he wanted her, he reached out to thread his hand into her hair, feeling the strands slip against his fingers as his hand came to rest against the warmth of her cheek, coaxing her forwards even as he tilted her head the way he needed her to be as he went in for a kiss.
This one wasn’t one of the timid, brief kisses that had filled much of their days recently–he went in with a fervor much like their first, or on the couch the evening prior.  It was that closeness he wanted, and if he craved that physical reassurance that she was okay–was going to be okay–then he wanted to feel that liveliness between them when he kissed her like this.  Where he couldn’t get enough of it, wanted more, and even surprised himself with how badly he seemed to need it.
Keeping her cradled close and secure against him, Levi could feel the surprise from the intensity that he came at her with in her lack of an initial response in those few seconds, where he was the one pouring all of the desire into the kiss with each needful press of his lips against hers.  He might have pulled back if she had stayed still a moment longer, but when she seemed to come out of her surprise at his sudden fervent attention, she returned every ounce of that passion, stealing his breath in kind.  Her hands slowly slide up the sides of his neck, causing a slight shiver down his neck before her fingers ran lightly against his undercut and up into his own hair in a grip that kept him locked–without complaint–in the kiss, her fingers teasing along the outer curves of his ears and her thumb tracing idly back and forth along his jaw.
His breath hitched at the tender touch, lips parting involuntarily with a gasp he was trying to keep down.  Throwing away any pretense of trying to kiss her in some kind of ‘right way’, his fingers dug deeper into her hair in response, and the sound was swallowed up as he deepened the kiss.  He didn’t care about kissing her in a ‘right way’ at the moment as much as he did in kissing her, in feeling more of her, of satisfying the hunger that had them locked together with such intensity.
She was warm and alive against him and he couldn’t get enough of it as it helped soothe the part of him that had been so restless the past week or so out of fear for her safety.
Their intensity did have them clash a bit more with their kiss than normal–sometimes he only managed to trap one of her lips between his with how she tilted her head in response to him or because she ducked low trying to go in for more when he arched higher.  There were a few times where his teeth grazed along her lips, and he felt her shudder against him, which only encouraged him to do it again.  Especially when those shudders were followed by a tightened grip from her and more fire in the way she kissed him, how she leaned more heavily into him.
She was the first one to break away from the kiss, gasping in air so sharply that it made Levi realize he was starting to get a little light headed from the lack of air, himself.  He wasn’t done, though–not nearly.  So as she gasped for air, Levi took a quick breath and leaned back in, planting a kiss at the corner of her mouth as she took in air.  She didn’t squirm away, and with the thought of how tantalizing her kisses the evening before had been as they had blazed a trail away from his lips, he decided he’d try it for himself, see about blazing a trail of his own.
His lips moved a little further to the side, pressing against her flushed cheek and feeling a warmth seeping through his chest at the more tender seeming gesture amidst the more hungry kisses they’d been giving to one another.  He went a little further back towards her ear, feeling a spark of pride as it seemed to make her gasp again and twitch from a sensitivity to the spot he managed to find as he started to work his way down to her jaw.
It felt like goosebumps broke out across his neck and down to his arms when he felt her return in kind, her lips easily finding their way to his jaw in return with how he was currently angled to kiss under hers.  His hand, resting at her side just above her waist, clenched in the fabric of her uniform as she moved lower to where his jaw met his throat, managing to coax a soft grunt out of him in the process, arm flexing around her and coaxing her to lean more into him.  One of her hands had abandoned the base of his skull where it had been brushing along his undercut and teasing strands of hair between her fingers, now moving lower towards his shoulder, smoothing over the back plate of his gear he had far too tight for her to slip her fingers under.
She wasn’t daunted by it, however.  She coaxed a small gasp from him she might not have even heard as her hand simply traveled lower to trail along his spine where there wasn’t gear in the way, her other hand burying deeper into his hair to tilt his head in a familiar way that had his heart hammering in his chest, lips brushing against her throat for a brief moment at the new angle as he held his breath to see what would come next.
Her lips brushed along the bite mark from the evening before that had barely started to heal, causing his heart to skip a beat as he wondered if she was about to bite him again in the heat of the moment.  She didn’t, though.  Her lips were tender as they pressed against where one fang had pierced him, and then gently over the other, before she started outlining the mark on his neck with a series of soft kisses that had his breath catching with the tingling warmth it sent flashing through him.
Once he knew he wasn’t about to get bit again, he resumed what he’d been doing seconds ago, working his way slowly down her throat and feeling a rumble of a moan building in her chest, feeling a flash of pride and even a little excitement to be drawing that reaction out of her with his attention to her throat for once.
A knock at the door pulled him sharply out of the heat of the moment and back into their time-limited present, growling against her skin loud enough to drown out the little noise of dismay that escaped her lips at the sound as Levi felt his ire rapidly rear its head.
Now was not the time to be intruding upon him, and whoever it was better have a damn good reason for interrupting him.
“What?” he snapped loud enough for whoever was on the other side of the door to hear him, voice still on the gruff side with how little he’d spoken so far this morning and how soon after he’d woken up it was.
“Commander Erwin has requested to see you, Captain,” Eld’s voice answered from the hall, unable to hear the sigh of irritation Levi couldn’t stop from escaping as his grip tightened around Y/N.
Of fucking course it was going to be Erwin calling on him, the one person he couldn’t ignore, especially since the man was awaiting a report about the events of last night–and he needed to talk to anyway to see about moving forwards with Y/N’s goals.  If it had been anyone else he would have told them to fuck off and wait until later.
He would much rather be here in this moment just a few moments longer–
“I can tell what you’d rather do, instead,” she teased him, voice low and breath soft and tantalizing against his throat, not at all helping him resist the urge to stay here with her a little longer as his heart seemed to beat a bit faster at the thought of staying in here and seeing if he could get more than a few gasps and shivers out of her.
“Shut up,” he hissed in warning, arm tensing slightly around her to hold her tighter, not wanting Eld to hear she was on the other side of his locked door so early in the morning.  He could see a teasing smirk playing across her face out of the corner of his eyes, coaxing something in him to rise at the challenge he saw in it.  As she parted her lips to say something else, likely something sassy, Levi, without really thinking about what he was doing besides giving her a quieter, nonverbal warning to hush, nipped at her jaw with his teeth in warning before she could speak again.
She gasped, the sound sharp and shocked, a flush starting to spread across her cheeks at her reaction.
Levi stilled, taken aback by himself.
“Did…did you just bite me?” she asked in shock, and she barely managed to keep her voice at a lower volume, though she was pushing it, and the twitch of her lips towards a grin, the amusement lighting her eyes and the timbre of her voice giving away she was seconds away from laughing, and likely not quietly, either.  That blush on her cheeks remained astride the amusement, however.
“You just bit a vampire–what the hell possessed yo–”
Her voice was starting to rise in volume, and Levi shushed her, the sound sharp but quiet, and quickly muffled as he decided to double down, leaning in quickly to bite again, except a little bit harder and on her neck this time.  His lips and teeth locked around a sensitive patch of skin he was fairly certain was close to where she normally bit him, and a shiver raced down her body that he felt, a strangled whimper escaping her and prompting him to quickly reach out and cover her mouth to muffle the sound lest it reached Eld in the hall.
She held still after that, her breath warm and slightly quicker than normal against his hand as Levi’s arm shifted around her to hold her restricted against him and kept her from moving, his chin brushing against her collar bone as he lifted his head to lock his gaze on the door across the room.
“I’ll be there in a minute,” he called with a clipped tone.
As much as he wanted to stay here and explore that little discovery and the reaction it had invoked from her more…
Interruptions like this was exactly why he’d been hoping to do this last night when they wouldn’t have been interrupted.  Once the day started he was just too busy for anything, or at least had too much to do with other people.
They held that position for several seconds after Eld’s footsteps could be heard retreating from Levi’s door, his hand still over her mouth, both of them still breathing a bit heavier than normal as they slowly came down from the needy high they’d both just been riding.  As Y/N started to relax, her hands came back up to slowly and gently run through Levi’s hair once more, and figuring they weren’t going to be overheard, or at the very least that they had both calmed down enough they weren’t going to be that loud, Levi carefully lowered the hand that had been covering her mouth.  The only sound between them for the first few moments was the long, slow sigh Levi let escape, eyes closed and allowing him a few precious seconds to relish the feel of her hands through his hair a few moments longer.
“Duty calls,” she eventually said, the first to break the silence as her fingers continued to thread through his hair, though her statement had him opening his eyes again to gaze up at her.  “Can't keep the Commander waiting.”
If it had been anyone other than Erwin…
“Y/N…” he started to say softly, the start of a frown tugging at the corner of his lips.  However, she leaned in to kiss one corner of his mouth, then the other, and then tilted his head just slightly so she could place one more lingering, soft kiss to his forehead.
“Later.  We'll talk later when we have the time.  Right now you're expected,” She told him quietly.  The fact she hadn't moved off him yet despite her statements was the clear evidence he wasn't the only one that didn't want to break the moment.  However, when she did pull back after a last few seconds to relish their moment, her fingers trailed along his jaw, prompting his head to tilt and turn to follow their trajectory before that touch fell away as well, leaving him wanting for more.
“I'll see you later,” she promised as she stepped back and started for the door.  Despite his reluctance to let the moment end, she didn't even make it all the way across the room before Levi dutifully got up to retrieve his jacket and cravat to get back to fully redressed before he headed for the meeting with Erwin.
Tumblr media
“You two are all over the place with this issue.  And it's not reassuring that you can't seem to make up your minds on your stances for it.”
Erwin was still seated behind his desk, a place that he seemed to be stuck at more and more often with unusually high piles of reports and papers and plans even by his standards.  The paperwork was momentarily being ignored, kept to its stacks and piles around but not currently in front of Erwin.  He was frowning as he looked over at Levi, thumb idly playing with his index finger in small movements as he considered everything that he'd been told about the situation.
Levi shook his head, still leaning against the wall off to Erwin's right where he'd stayed the whole time he'd been telling the man about last night's developments.  “We've argued over how to handle it, especially since the details coming out about the kid just seems to keep making a bigger mess of it all.  But this recent complication put her on her back foot enough to give her pause and make her rethink it all a bit more.  She's still stubborn as ever about helping him, but she's adapting, and willing to accept help.  She even listened when I told her if he doesn't get around this, she'll have to cut ties.”
“And if it goes that way, do you think she actually will, or is that wishful thinking talking?”
Levi considered.  He hoped if it went that way she would listen, that she’d recognize her inability to help and back off without much fuss.  However, there was almost certainly going to be fuss.  She was probably going to try to help him until she absolutely couldn’t any more.
“It might take her a bit longer than I’d like, but I think she will if she realizes it’s hit a point where she can’t help him, as much as she wants to.”
“And your plan to go force his hand into making a decision.  Going in the day so you’re safe outside his cave is a pretty strong natural protection, and I know you’ll be armed just in case something causes the situation to turn ugly, and she’ll be there to restrain him, so I’m not so concerned about the danger of such a meeting that L/N did take issue with originally.  What I am worried about are the people hunting him, and the growing risk of her, and now you, getting caught in the crossfire if he’s found.  These walls can suddenly turn stifling and far too small when one’s on the run from someone, especially from the military,” Erwin said seriously, holding Levi’s gaze.
Levi could feel the tension that gathered in his shoulders at the way Erwin phrased that, able to sense the danger and even /further/ complication headed their way.  “...You were trying to get some Scouts to volunteer to help in the search to have an in with what was happening.  How did that go?”
Erwin hummed, but his steady gaze did not move from Levi.  “Not well.  You’re aware the Garrison are taking it personally, and there’s a squad or two from the Military Police assisting in making the search more efficient.  My offer for volunteers, as easy as it is to excuse it as soldiers needing something to do to help manage the situation, was diverted to other resources–namely maintaining the peace where the Garrison and Military Police are now lacking during the search for the young vampire.  They’re not letting anyone else in, but from what I’ve gleaned, they’re being very thorough with their search.”
It would have been strange for the Military Police to have gotten involved if it wasn’t for how high profile this mess had become.  A criminal that dangerous that had killed two civilians and five Garrison troops?  Of course the Military Police were going to get involved.
As for Emery…they were going to have to come up with a better solution for what to do about this situation besides making him disappear, especially if part of the point, on a practical level to convince Erwin to allow the attempt to help the kid, had been the potential of another vampire in the Scouts eventually.  That wasn’t going to work if the kid’s face was everywhere and he’d become this legend of a murderer that disappeared within the walls, with the Garrison taking it personally and likely to remember and even recognize the kid’s face in the future.  Not to mention, since there were only so many places to hide within the walls, it was very possible that eventually someone was going to stumble across his hiding place–and they didn’t need any more dead bodies.  There were already too many as the situation stood right now.
Forty years ago, Y/N had to shake the Garrison off her tail as well, and it had been an effective method, but drastic.  He wouldn’t bring it up here, now, with Erwin–he would talk to Y/N first, see what ideas she had that could help settle this issue before it spiraled any further out of control.
As if it hadn’t already–as if they didn’t already have their plates overflowing with all the shit they were busy shoveling right now between the fall of Maria and the resulting refugee and food shortage crisis bearing down on them, Emery–a situation that just kept multiplying in issues–and Y/N’s vampire drama between hunters and her sire, as Erwin had called the vampire that turned her.
“We’ll be mindful of that going forward.  And I’ll add talking about what to do about that situation to the list of things we need to discuss and try to find a solution to while we’re all there.”
Erwin leaned forward, gaze still unwavering from Levi, even as Levi had been mulling over his thoughts.  The scrutiny was something Levi was still trying to adjust to, well aware that Erwin was watching his actions and decisions more closely than he had in some time.  All to make sure the budding relationship between himself and Y/N wasn’t clouding his judgment in any way.  “Do you think that you'll be able to persuade him into being more...considerate of the situation he's created?”
That he was certain of.  No matter how the situation went, Levi was going to draw the line in the sand and make sure the kid ended up on one side or the other, whether that meant they cut ties or they finally made some damn progress.
“If the kid can't make up his mind with the ultimatum he's going to get, then there's no helping him.  Either he listens and accepts the help she's trying to give him, or there won't be any more arrangement,” Levi said flatly.
He was willing to let Y/N try this–as insane as it made him with the rising risks attached to it–and back her decision.  He understood why she was doing it.  But he wasn’t going to allow this kid to create a situation that threatened to destroy everything she’d managed to scrape together for herself recently, that she’d worked so hard to build.
He wasn’t going to allow a situation that would punish her for Emery’s decisions.
Erwin seemed to be satisfied with Levi’s answer, or at least the look in Levi’s eyes while he considered just how resolute he was about making sure Emery didn’t cause Y/N harm directly or indirectly, because he nodded, leaning back in his seat and finally looking away.  “Good.  Then I expect a resolution and progress when you two return from your trip in a few days to help with the refugees staying in the western part of Rose as part of our efforts to help ease the strain of managing this refugee crisis.”
Erwin frowned at the mention of the refugee crisis, and even though it had sounded like the end of the conversation, Levi could tell there was more coming, so he waited to hear what else Erwin had to say.
“Speaking of…just as a warning, Levi:  The Council has started talking about their culling plan again.  Much more actively this time.”
Levi felt his heart stop for a moment.  If they were talking about it actively now, then…it was coming.  Sooner rather than later, no doubt, given the look on Erwin’s face as he poured over more detailed maps of what Levi now saw were parts of the territory of Maria closest to Rose’s wall.
It was close enough Erwin was starting to make plans for how they were going to handle it when the dirty work inevitably got shunted onto them.
Levi didn’t have any words for that.  Didn’t even want to think about it beyond what was necessary, not until it was time for him to have to think about it.  But the warning that it was coming was still appreciated, since it gave him time to start mentally preparing himself.
He didn’t address it, however.  He simply reverted back to the conversation they’d been having before the warning.
“I’ll update her when she’s back from visiting Emery.  We’ll have finished before the end of the week.”
It seemed they wouldn’t be able to afford to be gone any longer than that.

Oh I love the Vamp Levi feeding of reader but what if reader is human and she's not willing to be a vampire (I love being human ok forgive me😭 This idea was been running around my head since TWILIGHT!) but yeahhh I love and WILLINGLY be feed off the one and only Levi even thou my anemic ass would collapse seconds later 🍷✨
anon have u peeked into my mind because twilight is one of my favorite movie series!! (vamp!levi was briefly inspired by edward actually! ><)
but to answer your ask, i feel like levi could live without ever feeding off of you. he can always resort to hunting in a nearby woods for animals and that'll be the end of it. he never wants to pressure you in doing something you're not comfortable with or ready for. he'll wait a thousand years if he has to, as long as you're safe and healthy, that's all that matters to him.
that's not to say that he does get tempted from time to time though.. he has a good resistance and self control but when it comes to you and the way you unintentionally tease him with your neck exposed just for his viewing, it becomes difficult to be around you sometimes. during passionate and intimate moments, he can't help but graze his teeth along the side of your neck, though never applies pressure to actually pierce the skin – he'll always make sure of that. and in other times when it gets all too much for him, he'll disappear for a while, leaving a note by your bedside in reassurance that everything's okay and that he just needs to hunt for a few days.
days and days passed, without ever hearing from levi since he left. it was agonizing being alone in the confines of your cottage, you miss his scent that lingered everywhere you walked, you miss his tender embraces that hold you for just a little longer in the early mornings, you just miss him.
and abruptly, all your wishes and prayers were granted when you saw a figure standing by the front of your doorway, a shadow casted in all too familiar stature of your beloved. all at once, you wanted to be angry with him for leaving you like that, isolated and afraid – yet, you were overjoyed to know that his presence was reunited with yours once again.
"where have you been. i've been waiting for you.." as much as you tried to lace anger with your words, it was almost as difficult to do as trying to keep your composure in front of levi – it didn't go unnoticed by him either.
"i was w-worried sick. do you understand what was running through my mind these past few days?? how.. how scared i was?!" at this point, it was impossible to try and hold back anymore. bitter tears streamed down your face as levi's casted shadow grew closer to you. you soon felt warm, yet cold hands reach for your own and tug you against his chest.
he'd be lying if he said he wasn't a complete idiot for leaving you behind – he really was. he shushed you through soft coos of his voice and sweet apologies that were very much needed in this moment.
"i'm sorry, my love. i only wanted to keep you safe. im really sorry."

Dust, Diamonds by maokitty
the best way i can describe this fic is that it drove an iron stake through my heart multiple times, pulled it out, then delicately rearranged the pieces and stitched it back together with gentle fingers. take it how you will but after a certain chapter i stopped reading it bc it was too painful, and then came back two months later to finish it off AND I AM SO GLAD I DID.
A River Of Three Crossings by maokitty

also read In the Land of Gods and Monsters by them for a fun time😊
a sip of sunshine by taomyou (@taomyou)
speaking of post-war fics, this one is amazinggg. super cute and fluffy, angsty ending for part 1 (😭) but I know for sure their next part will be worth the wait. also they've got a complete modern au fic called The Romance Of Reimbursements which is so fucking beautiful, definitely read this!!! (also mchs, acoc... yeah just read all of them tbh)
silver underground. by tothestrongones (@amywritesthings)
this one's a recent read, but omfg i cannottt get enough of it. absolutely love this, it's levi x underground reader, amnesia trope done right. 10/10 must read!!!

1880, Paris. What was meant to be an evening of lifeless smiles and dancing turns into a night of horror, filled with bloodshed and vampires. You meet Him, the man with dark eyes and darker secrets, and your life is toppled forever. Now, with newfound magical powers and the stranger named Levi, you join the Survey Corps—a mysterious organization whose sole purpose is to track and eliminate monsters. VAMPIRE LEVI HEADCANONS
Tumblr media
A/N: Here’s my collection of thoughts of Levi as a vampire (pls the twilight rot was SO REAL)
Tumblr media
☆* ☆* ☆* ☆* ☆* ☆* ☆* ☆* ☆* ☆* ☆* ☆* ☆* ☆* ☆* ☆* ☆* ☆* ☆* ☆*
This was inspired by a convo I was having with @reinerbrawns ♥️ we have issues lmao but I’m finally getting around to posting it 😊😊
Nobody knows how old he is. We know he’s old af but like HOW OLD WE TALKIN’??? Many have asked but he never answers because it’s “quite ignorant”
Runs an exclusive club for vampires and vampires only. Nobody has seen the owner so they have no idea it’s Levi
Mans is a recluse af. He lives in this big old mansion that looks spooky but is actually CLEAN AF inside. He likes the spooky exterior because it keeps vermin (humans) away
He cleans his mansion himself because he doesn’t trust anyone to do it to his standards.
He drives a classic black Aston Martin DB4. A classic car for a classy mans. Makes sense.
He does NOT drink blood from the source. It’s unclean so he has high quality blood bags delivered to him daily.
He uses a tea cup to drink said blood. Yes. A teacup. Yes he holds his cup with his palm. Yes people have made fun of him for it but have they survived to tell the tale? I’ll let y’all simmer on that
His favourite blood type is O. He L O V E S him some good old O blood (ew)
Coincidentally mosquitoes also prefer this blood type but if you make the comparison, you will be ded. Levi will end you.
Gets along well with most supernatural beings but he utterly D E S P I S E S werewolves. They’re loud, filthy, and most importantly...they smell. Like really bad (according to Levi)
Has never taken a mate as it’s quite the hassle but he won’t admit that he’s actually really lonely and is scared to fall in love because he has suffered so much loss and he can’t handle any more
Has a cat. He didn’t want pets as they’re dirty but he happened to save one from a goblin and the cat wouldn’t let go of him. Since this mans lonely af (even though he won’t admit it) he took it home and has been raising it. Pls we all know it’s the most CLEAN cat there is.

Vampire au request? Levi & reader are hunters. During one mission he thinks she dies but he finds out later she was turned during the chaos. She stayed away because she knew he hated vampires because they killed farlan and isabel. So he hunts her and she thinks hes trying to kill her, so she runs but he just wants her back. Maybe he relives old memories between them when she slips away. Angst please. He doesnt catch up to her either... yet... 😏 if it's too specific feel free to spin off it lol
A/N: I’m really sorry if this is too long but holy fuck I got so inspired! I love supernatural shit! ❤️
𝑯𝒖𝒏𝒈𝒆𝒓 ❤️
Y/N’s head throbbed painfully, her eyes unwilling to open. She had experienced her fair share of hangovers throughout her early adult years but her throat had never felt drier than it had in that moment. Her body felt like it had quite literally died and been resurrected all in the same night. Swallowing what felt like sand paper she weakly rolls onto her side forcing her eyes open.
“Hey shes awake!” An unknown female voice shrills.
“About time. Thought she was actually going to die.” Another voice laughs, probably male but possible female.
“Poor girl must be famished.” The first voice cackles. On cue, her body was flooded with the aching desire to drink something. She felt both starved and thirst at the same time. Y/N’s eyes begin to focus in the dark, two figures were in the room with her. One was sitting on a large crate, one leg dangling over the edge while the other was bent at the knee resting on the edge of the box.
Another girl was kneeling in front of her, box dyed pink hair pulled up into two buns on either side of her head. The entire situation itself was weird enough but what made her blood run cold was the bright yellow eyes staring back at her.
The memories of the previous night all crashing in at once.
It was supposed to be a simple hunt! Erwin had tipped them off about a small vampire nest lurking on the outskirts of downtown. It was one they had been tracking for a while now but each time they got close the nest always vanished within hours. They were drawing attention to themselves, recklessly pulling whatever bodies they could grab into their dingy hideout and leaving them drained scattered throughout the city. It was disgusting. Every time they had to fight vampires Y/N was always reminded of the way their two friends had tragically died. The rain didn’t seem like it was going to let up any time soon, the streets becoming less crowded the farther they walked. It was oddly quiet, the sky was dark grey casting a gloomy mood over the city. It didn’t take them long to find the hideout, either they were lazy vampires or they wanted to be caught. It was strange and Y/N had a heavy feeling of dread sitting in her stomach.
“Don’t you think this is too easy?” She hissed to Levi who has busy pulling their concealed machetes from a duffle bag.
“Doesn’t matter, just take them out as quickly as possible. Vampires are dumb fuckers Y/N don’t over think it.” His words were gruff but she knew how uncomfortable he was. Despite his hard exterior he hated this as much as she did, probably more. The nest was fairly small, neither of them sparring the creatures a second chance as they decapitated one after another. Years of being seasoned hunters had made their reflexes faster, they had decided to split up their chances of ending this bloodbath were faster that way. Levi didn’t have to think twice about it, Y/N was more than capable of taking care of herself especially against lower level vamps. Scoping out every inch of their underground nest, Y/N was satisfied that she had managed to take out every one there. Pulling out a cloth she wiped the blood off her hands, setting down the machete at her feet momentarily.
It was a stupid mistake, she should have waited until they were safely above ground before letting her ground down. A rustling noise behind her catches her attention, before she can grab her weapon a hard blow to the back of her head knocks her unconscious.
“Why didn’t you just kill me?” She demands, glaring daggers at the vampire on the crate.
“Don’t you think this is much more fun?” The girl squeals, in her hand was a recognizable blood bag. The sight alone made her want to throw up.
“So what, I’m just going to sit here and watch you sick fucks drink blood for fun?” Y/N sneers, the hunger she had felt earlier now almost too intense to process. Never in her life had she felt such an insatiable need to eat something.
“You still don’t get it do you?” There was no hiding the amusement written all over his face and it made her heart drop into her stomach. Her hand wanders up to her chest revealing her biggest fear. She had no heartbeat.
“What the fuck did you do?” She shrieks unable to fight the wave of panic washing over her, angry tears slid down her cheeks - well at least it felt like they were. Moving her fingers up to her eyes she felt nothing, it was the strangest thing she had ever experienced. It felt like she was crying but there were no tears, she would never cry again. Faster than lightning the brunette was at her side, his fingers gripping her hair in a painfully tight grip she was sure would have ripped her scalp right off her head if it wasn’t for her undead state.
“You really thought I was just going to sit there and let you and that stupid midget come in and wipe out my entire clan?” His voice was calm but there was an undeniable rage seeping into his tone.
“You didn’t think it was a little too easy?” His words make her eyes squeeze shut with regret, she should have pushed harder.
“I’ve been thinking about this ever since Detroit, you remember that don’t you?” His lips were uncomfortably close to her ear sending shivers all the way down to her toes. She knew what he was talking about, it was probably their biggest nest kill. Yanking her head back at an awkward angle their eyes meet.
“You took something special from me that night so what better way to return the favour than to take something away from you” Once again the feeling of crying but not being able to takes over her senses. His grip on her hair doesn’t give up as he drags her to her feet over to a dingy mirror on the wall.
“Look at yourself, you really think he’s going to love you when you look like that?” Y/N doesn’t want to look, she knows already what she’s going to find. But she can’t help her eyes drifting upwards, anger and despair swirling around her stomach. Her eyes were bloodshot, iris’s the colour of liquid honey and her skin was ghastly pale.
Two distinct marks in her neck were enough to send her hurtling towards a full blown panic attack. Levi. He was never going to forgive her, their last moments together hadn’t been sweet or memorable. And now she was going to have to live with the reality of being a monster.
“Fuck you!” Her hands desperately trying and grab onto anything she can grab onto. The sudden feeling of a strength she could never have possibly known before was crawling under her skin. Her nails claw at his face leaving three long gashes but no blood comes out.
Rather than the rage she had expected he merely looks content. Her head begins to feel fuzzy, static over taking any thoughts she had as his eyes glow a little brighter.
“Sit” he commands and her body willingly obeys. Horrified at how powerless she is to his control over her mind she can do nothing but watch as he takes the bag of blood from the pink haired girl and brings it over to her.
“I apologize for not having anything…fresh after all you did ambush our nest. This will have to do for now but in your state I’m sure you’ll enjoy it” Tilting her head back with ease his sharp nail pokes a hole into the bag. The smell suddenly overwhelms her senses. It was the sweetest thing Y/N had ever smelled and she wanted nothing more than to rip into the bag and devour every last drop. The hunger growing inside her now too unbearable to ignore and almost painful as drool shamelessly pours down her mouth.
“Open up love” he smirks watching her helplessly obey his commands. The first drop was heaven it ignited every nerve in her body and she was ashamed to admit how good it tasted. Despite wanting to spit it out and scrub her tongue until the taste no longer lingered there Y/N couldn’t deny how strong it made her feel.
 Before she knew it the entire bad was empty, the hunger still there but only a dull flame now. Releasing his hold of her, her body collapses against the wall. There was no going back now, she couldn’t be saved and Levi would never forgive her. Y/N had turned into the one thing he hated most and the thought of never being able to touch him again made her feel even more dead inside.
♡ ♡ ♡
Levi was distraught, no distraught was not strong enough. He was…going out of his mind seemed more appropriate. He should have listened to Y/N when she had voiced her concerns but he had been too caught up in his own feelings to realize that they were walking into a trap. It had been almost a month since then, he was sure she was dead. Levi tried not to think about the worse possibility of being kept as a feeder, it made him sick to think that she might be suffering.
 Levi had forced Erwin and Hange to help him find her body, he wouldn’t have any peace of mind until he could confirm with his own eyes that she was dead. He was barely sleeping, every time he closed his eyes her face haunted his dreams. Levi felt guilty he’d left her alone. His snarky attitude masking his discomfort had worked against him, he could barely remember what her lips felt like or what she smelled like and it was making him increasingly angry. How could he let himself forget her so fast.
 Levi had his hands dug deep into the pockets of his leather jacket, his duffle bag resting against his hip. The air was dry and cold, but Levi didn’t care. Every night since they had been separated Levi had gone out every night looking for her until dawn.
Levi was sure he was going to die. The malevolent spirit in front of him had it’s hand buried in his chest - literally gripping his heart. It was the worst pain he had ever felt and there was no one who was coming to his rescue this time. Y/N had been on another hunt and Erwin was taking care of his own shit.
 He hands claw into the floorboards trying to read for his shot gun loaded with rock salt. It wouldn’t be enough to kill it but it would at least give him a few minutes to breathe. His fingers just barely graze the handle of the gun, the edges of his vision are slowly turning black. A loud gunshot rings in his ears, the weight on his chest lifted causing him to gasp in as much air as possible.
“Jesus seems like we only meet up when I’m saving your ass, pretty boy” Y/N smirks reloading her gun with another round of rock salt bullets. Walking over to him she stretches her hand out offering her help.
“You didn’t save my ass, I had it under control” He grumbles but accepts her help anyway. Standing up he rubs his chest, the dull ache of the spirit’s nails digging into his skin still throbbing.
“Whatever you say doll” She chirps resuming her search of the vacant house for the remains that was trapping the ghost to the house ignorant to the pair of grey eyes trained on her swaying hips. Levi hated to admit it but without her help he probably wouldn’t have survived. They finished the job fairly quick after that, finding the cursed stuffed animal and burning it in the backyard putting the spirit to rest.
“Damn Levi, these are pretty deep” she winced at the sight of bloodied claw marks on his chest. Y/N had insisted she tend to his wounds as soon as they checked into a motel before they had a chance of becoming infected. The sight of his bare torso had her feeling light-headed. There was no denying Levi was incredibly attractive but she liked playing with the air of sexual tension that seemed to loom over them. The room suddenly seemed too small for two people and despite her best attempts at self control she couldn’t help her hands trailing down his body.
“Something wrong Y/N?” Levi’s smooth voice only added to the fog that was clouding her mind and agains her better judgement she found herself unable to resist kissing him. Levi’s complete shock at her actions left him unable to respond. No one had ever been so bold, usually he was the one making the first move and honestly, it was kind of attractive. Just as fast as she had kissed him she pulled back, her usual cockiness replaced with embarrassment the blush on her cheeks tugged at his heart.
“Sorry I didn’t- I just like you and uh- you looked cute” Levi didn’t say anything as she stuttered over her words, merely cupping her face with both his hands and bringing their mouths back together.
Levi sighed bitterly at the memory, since they had been inseparable. Giving up their hunting on their own to work together. His feet moved on their own, carrying him through the dead city weaving through empty alleys until the sound of gurgled screaming caught his attention. Running towards the sound he tries to squash down the building feeling of apprehension building up. His suspicions had been on the mark as usual, except what he saw before him was worse than he had ever imagined. If it was possible Levi was sure his heart had stopped beating for a few seconds.
“Y/N?” The person before him stilled at his words, her shoulders visibly tense.
♡ ♡ ♡
Y/N really didn’t want to give into the insatiable thirst she felt for blood but Eren, the clan leader, had told her that as a newly turned vampire the desire was going to be unbearable until her body adjusted to the change. Without blood she was weak and she couldn’t run away if she was weak, they would catch her within hours. It disgusted her at how far she’d fallen, doing the thing that had killed her two best friends and becoming a monster.
And then he just had to show up. She froze at the sound of his voice, it was almost like they had never been apart and the smell of him. GOD it was enough to get drunk off. She could smell everything, his fear, love, and bitterness. Allowing herself one last glance at the man she could no longer have she looked back at him, not bothering to wipe the blood away from her mouth. If her heart was still working it would have been beating erratically in her chest at the sight of him, leather jacket and ripped jeans. His black hair messy and neck just inviting her over for a taste.
The look in his eyes was unreadable, but as soon as she saw him reaching for his back she sprinted off faster than he could catch up with her, grateful for her newfound inhumane speed.
“Y/N wait goddamnit!” He shouts after her but as much as she loved him she didn’t want to die. She kicks herself for allowing herself to believe that Levi would spare her life. They were hunters, well he was. It was his job to rid the world of monsters like her. They could never be together. The realization was bitter, nonexistent tears wanting to fall from her amber eyes. She didn’t stop running until she was miles away from him, returning to their new nest. Y/N didn’t want to come back but until she was strong enough to kill Eren she couldn’t survive on her own.
“Fuck she’s a fucking vampire!” Levi shouted in frustration over the phone. His worst fears coming to life were surprisingly not as big of a deal as he had imagined them to be. He would rather have her alive over dead any day, but at what cost. Every time the image of her bent over a corpse with blood dripping down her face flashed before his eyes he cringed. But that was Y/N, his Y/N. He couldn’t give up on her so easily.
“If you can bring her back I think there’s a way we can reverse the transformation” Erwin replied sounding faintly distracted.
“Hange’s been working with some other hunters across the country and she said they’ve found ways to turn a vampire back into a human but it’s not easy.”
“I don’t care! I’ll do whatever it takes to get her back.” Levi would track her day and night if it meant he could hold her in his arms again. Vampire or not she was the love of his life and there was no way he was letting her slip through his fingers.

How about vampire Levi falling in love with a human reader where their love gets to the point she lets him suck her blood, but Levi's mad about it. Angst & smut please!! 😍 I love your writing. I know my request is kinda clichè btw 😅
***No sparkly Vamps here!!! *****WARNING*****NSFW
💜Blood Lust💜
He had taken her for his own selfish desires. Not wanted to be alone, needing someone who could venture out into the sunlight, plus he couldn’t help but be drawn to her. There was just something about her smell.
Y/N had lived with Levi for 6 months before they had ever become intimate. Well, she had lived, Levi had just...existed. She had originally been terrified when he had brought her here. He had found her, in the middle of being robbed and beaten. Levi had killed her attacker before it could turn into something worse. She had lost consciousness after seeing her pale savior sink his teeth into her assaults neck, draining his blood until the light in his eyes faded.
She had been surprised to find that vampires weren’t the myths she thought they were. Even more surprised to find one that was so damn...clean. His dwelling wasn’t the drab and dreary cobweb infested nightmare that was portrayed in the movies. Yes it was old, but it was light and bright during the day, and spotless.
The motorized window coverings blacked out any rooms he wanted to be in during the daylight hours, protecting him from the very deadly, in his case, UV rays. She had found herself at ease in his presence over time, despite his blunt and rude manner, he was a man that cared about others.
She found it odd that Levi was so keen on preserving human life, considering they were his food. The man he had killed the night he had saved her was the first life he had taken in five years. He relied on donors or blood banks for his meals, resisting urge to haunt the shadows and prey on the unsuspecting.
The first time they had slept together, Y/N knew that she was totally in love with the vampire that had changed her life. She had practically seduced him, with the man being so resistant to letting someone into his non beating heart.
~~~~~
“Levi.” She ventures as she kissed down his porcelain, chilly throat. “I want you to feed from me.”
His hands stop as they were stroking her stomach and gripping her ass.
He pulled his head away from where he had been nuzzling her throat. “No.” His voice was hard and flat.
“But why?” Curiosity burned in her eyes as she looked into his silvery orbs. She had been fascinated by their color when she had first woken up in his house. They were like liquid metal, the flecks of blue and silver constantly swirling as his stormy eyes contained the emotions he refused to let his face express.
“Reasons, brat.” He huffed, annoyed with her pressing the issue.
She wiggles on his lap. They were currently on his bed, now their bed. He always woke from the little sleep he got either horny or hungry, tonight was the former.
She nipped his ear as her warm breath washed over him. His heart may have no longer beat, but his nerves certainly worked as his body reacted to her touch. He had to remind himself to be gentle, temper his touch. She didn’t regenerate like he could. One slip, one moment where he lost himself and he could destroy the person he loved.
It scared him how hard he had fallen for the girl. The human he had found that night, struggling to fend off the degenerate that wanted her money, her body and maybe her life. He had no qualms about killing that one, as a calm rage fell over him as he caught the scent of her fear. He thought that was the moment he had started falling in love with her.
Y/N didn’t understand what she was asking. Fresh blood always caused a momentary frenzy, a split second where the monster he truly was is released. If he, in that moment, killed Y/N, he knew that he would walk out into the sunshine the very next day.
She whimpered a bit in his arms. The hands on her body relaxed as he loosened the grip he hadn’t know had tightened. Looking back at her, her cheeks flush and rosy, her eyes sparkling, he needed to remember that this human of his needed to be protected, even if it was from himself.
“Please, Levi? I want you to.” Shit, she wasn’t goin to let this go.
Levi peeled Y/N off of him and set her to the side. “I need to go clean.” And left her sitting on their bed without a backwards glance.
~~~~~
For a week he wouldn’t talk to Y/N. Wouldn’t acknowledge her presence. He didn’t sleep. All he did was obsessively clean the already immaculate house.
She watched him from the door frame. He was kneeling on the floor, scrubbing at invisible stains on the marble floors that didn’t exist. Or perhaps it had, years past. Their house was old, it was the same house where Levi had lived when he was still human. Meticulously cared for and upgraded as the centuries had past.
Levi’s mind was running as fast as his hands worked, scouring the smooth stone. Never in his 235 years, had Levi felt the connection that he had with Y/N. She accepted him for who and what he was, without reservation. Something he had never found as a human. Her only fear that night was that she was in a place she hadn’t known, after awakening from her attack. She had thought she had been kidnapped. After telling her she hadn’t, Levi had initially been willing to let her go, until she did the one thing he hadn’t expected.
She touched him. He knew that she had seen him kill that man. His ashen eyes had locked onto hers as he drank. Levi had watched her eyes roll back and Y/N slump to the ground unconscious. Knowing all of this, she had still walked up to him, with no hint of fear in her eyes and touched his cold cheek. “Thank you” She had whispered in a low clear voice.
In that moment, Y/N became his.
~~~~~
“Are you ever going to speak to me again?” Levi paused in his scrubbing for a moment before starting the rhythmic circles of the brush again.
“Are you done asking about that shit?” She knew that she had frustrated him, but damned if she was going to let this go.
“No, I’m not going to unless you explain why you are so against this.” He threw the brush down. Y/N watched it slide across the floor.
She looked up to find Levi right in front of her. His cleaning handkerchief pulled away from his face and his eyes hot and angry as they stared at her intimidatingly. In a flash, she was pushed up against he wall, his hands firmly around her arms, squeezing lightly in warning.
“Don’t fuck with me Y/N. You won’t like the consequences.” He growled out.
Y/N rolled her eyes at the powerful vampire. “You don’t scare me Levi. I know you won’t hurt me. Just tell me why?”
“Why the fuck do you want this?” He pushed off of her to pace. “You want to be my food? You want to feel like a pig set to slaughter?”
“I’m.....jealous.” He stopped and looked at her incredulously. She continued on, explaining. “I hate the thought of you touching those donors. Of them feeling any part of you, even your fangs. I had thought.....”
“You thought what?” He had stopped pacing to stand before her.
She lifted her eyes to his. “I had thought that when you told me that I was yours, it had also meant that you were mine.”
His glare softened. “Explain.”
Her face pouted slightly. “I don’t share. Period. If you set you lips on someone’s neck, it should be mine. If you feed from someone, it should be me.”
“Y/N.....I......” Words failed him. He could feel his resistance fading as he watched the hurt and insecurity cross the face he loved staring at.
“Just tell me what the problem is.” She begged, grabbing his hand.
“I could kill you, Y/N. I could lose control and squeeze you too hard or drain too much blood. I can’t risk that. I can’t risk losing you.” His eyes closed with his admission, ashamed of his shortcomings. He felt a warm hand on his cheek just like he had so many months before. Opening his eyes, he saw the love and trust she held for him in her gaze.
“You would never do that. I trust you, Levi.”
~~~~~
He had stripped them down to their underwear. Not caring for the mess blood usually made, he had prepared their bedroom. A waterproof protector covered the bed as they lay there.
“You always do it this way?” At his nod, Y/N gave a fierce scowl. “Yep, definitely not fucking sharing anymore.”
He gave a low laugh. “It’s always just a business transaction, Y/N. I drink, they get paid, we part ways.”
He leaned over body, lips hovering near her pulse. The warm beat of her blood was intoxicating, and he felt his fangs lower in anticipation. “Ready, Y/N?”
“Yes, Levi.”
With her consent, he plunged his fangs into the soft skin of her neck. Her tiny gasp filled his senses as he tasted her. Her blood filled his mouth. The sweet, thick liquid on his tongue caused a reaction he had never expected. His cock began to swell, hardening as he drank.
A fever invaded his mind. All he could think about was fucking her while he fed. Painfully overwhelming, the desire was coursing through him, clouding his mind. He didn’t want to hurt her, he wanted her screaming his name in ecstasy.
His hands tore the thin panties she wore. Her own hands were roaming on his body, but he was focused solely on her. Lowering his own underwear, he shifted, covering her body with his own. He yanked her legs open, his mouth still attacked to her neck as he filled her with a single thrust, pushing his cock into her tight center.
She cried out, pain and pleasure combined. He was large and stretched her opening as he began moving. It was fast and hard, a kinetic joining of their bodies. He pounded into her as she felt his tongue lave her neck, licking at the blood seeping from her wounds.
Once she was surrounding him, he felt a little bit calmer, but no less entranced by the woman in his arms. He moved a hand to her breast, palming it as he continued to slam his hips into hers. He heard her cries, but they seemed to be in pleasure, her hands tugging at his hair, and nails scraping down his back like in encounters past.
He rolled them over and sat up, Y/N now sitting on his cock. He sank his teeth into her again as she arched against him. He growled as she began moving against him. Her hips rocking back and forth as she rode him. Her tight walls milking him towards release as he continued to feed from her. He managed to finally pull away from her neck, running a bloodstained mouth down to her breast to capture a stiff peak.
Her blood trickled down her neck, running down to the breast as he tugged on the nipple. She moaned and moved faster against him, enjoying his mouth on her as much as his cock inside her. When the trail of blood reached his mouth, he began licking up her chest, cleaning her as much as savoring the rich nectar.
He moved them again. This time, setting her on her knees. Sliding in easily, he snapped his hips forward and began to drive himself into her wet cavern. He sped up, confident the eager woman would love the pace that no human could set. Her erotic gasp and high pitched keening let him know he was right. As he felt her begin to tighten around him, he knew that he was close, pulling her back flush against his chest, he pushed deeper as he closed his lips around her neck again.
Screaming his name, she shattered in his arms. Her body shook and he felt the warm rush of her release as her body gripped him. He felt his own body tighten and he came with an inhuman snarl, his bloody teeth exposed as he filled her with his cum.
They slumped down together in the bed, Y/N gasping for breath. Levi was in a daze, he had never felt a need that strong, experienced an orgasm that all consuming. As he came down off his post coitus high, he began to look Y/N over, checking to make sure he hadn’t hurt her.
She gave him a sleepy smile. That had been absolutely amazing. All she could do was lay there bonelessly as she felt him tut and run his hands over her flesh. She giggled as he lifted her into his arms, intent on showering to clean up.
“What, brat?” He asked, quirking an eyebrow down at his love.
“I really love your blood lust, Levi.”

Wings in the Dark Chapter 31: The Same Page
AN: Okay, this is the only other chapter I had sitting in my google drive hiding from you all. Next chapter is where I just picked up writing again the other week, rusty with writing Levi and everyone all over again, I'm gonna go back over it one more time and see if it needs another polish before moving onto chapter 33. I'm hoping to always have one chapter already finished while I'm writing the one after it (i.e. I'm publishing 31, 32 is already written, and I'm working on 33) just to give myself a cushion so I don't stress myself out about it.
Also, i love you guys, thank you so much for all the messages I've been getting all week celebrating my still living status and the return of the story, it made my week, really.
...I was going to make you wait until tomorrow for this, but I'm tired and I already have it all ready so I might as well just flashbang you with another chapter again with no warning hahahahaha, this is turning into a trend/pattern

*Reader’s POV*
Emery hadn’t been expecting you to return so soon after the botched hunt.  Your appearance at his cave had been more than just a little surprise for him–the poor kid actually tried to jump you, thinking you were an intruder, which just ended with him flat on the back with the wind knocked out of him and a resounding crack of his head against rock that actually had you checking him over to make sure you hadn’t accidentally cracked his head open in the process of defending yourself.  Once Emery had caught his breath again and you were certain there wasn’t any blood matting the hair at the back of his head, you sat him down in order to have a precursor to the upcoming discussion.  Or rather, officially give him the warning, and try to lay some ground rules on Emery’s side in order to try and give Levi a bit more of a safety net coming to see the fledgling vampire.
Emery had already known that there was a human working with you, that knew your secret, so you didn’t have to give that part of the explanation.  Thankfully, that meant you were able to cut right to the chase and discuss why he was coming, and try to establish methods to help Emery not attack him when he came.
“I thought you didn’t want him anywhere near me because you were worried I’d attack him?” Emery asked once you’d told him of Levi’s impending arrival, shifting uncomfortably where he was currently seated on the floor of the cave.  Thankfully, there was still no hint of offense in his tone over your continued concern for Levi’s safety around him–Emery was painfully aware of how dangerous he was to humans right now, which was why you hadn’t heard any protest from him about living in isolation for the time being.  If anything, Emery seemed more concerned about Levi’s safety than why Levi would be coming.
You didn’t tell him that you were pretty sure Levi could take him in a fight easily, even with the vampire abilities, considering Levi could beat you in a fight.  You would rather Emery worry and end up not needing to have worried so much, than he didn’t take it seriously enough and something bad happened.  This was going to be Levi’s first face to face impression of the teenager, as well as a meeting that was going to basically decide Emery’s future–he needed to be taking this seriously in every way possible.
Your soft sigh still echoed around the deep chamber of the cave, though you remained still in your spot leaning against the wall further from the tiny, flickering fire Emery had going than his spot on the ground.  “That’s still a concern.  And he’s well aware that I’m not happy about it, that I’m concerned about his safety, but…he has his own concerns about my safety when it comes to what I’m risking to help you.  With how poorly things went last night, he needs to meet you for himself, and he’s going to have questions.”
“...what kind of questions?”
Emery’s voice was small, and for a moment, it looked to you like the shadows of the cave would swallow him whole and drag him into the depths of the small cave system he was currently using for shelter.  You weren’t doing much to put his mind at ease about this meeting, but it wasn’t a good thing that they were having it.  Emery’s refusal to really hunt had, as Levi pointed out, put you in a far more difficult position, and he needed to learn the gravity of the situation.
“I didn’t ask–I’m not his superior, he doesn’t have to run them by me, first.  And he has every right to be worried about my involvement with you and the position I’m in now, especially after hearing about last night.  He hasn’t been happy about me getting involved with you out of concern for my safety since day one, and now the problems are getting big enough he can’t stand by anymore.”
You could have gone into the strange power structure between you, Levi, and Erwin, how you answered to them but were also somewhat independent, at least with this, how Levi monitored you and Erwin made the final decisions, but you’d only told Emery about Levi because he’d been there that night when you’d met the kid face to face, and you hadn’t even told Emery Levi’s name in order to protect them if things went sideways with Emery.
And besides, Levi was the one who wanted to give Emery a ‘reality check’, and since you didn’t know how exactly he was going to do that, you were going to play your cards close to your chest in the meantime, at the very least so you didn’t accidentally ruin something for whatever Levi had planned.  You were just here to give Emery the heads up and a little bit of preparation in meeting Levi.
Emery, however, only seemed more confused by your statement.  “Why is he risking his safety to come up here and talk to me himself, rather than you simply being the one to say whatever needs said?  If this is about last night, you’re the one helping me, shouldn’t you be the one talking with me about what comes next?”
“Because it’s more than that.  Because he wants to meet you himself and get a first hand understanding of the situation and the person I’m trying to help before his part in deciding what comes next.  Because he’s of the opinion that I’m too close to this to effectively have this conversation, and…I agree with him.”
That was fear you could see starting to creep into his eyes.  The way his foot stopped its slow bounce under his crossed legs, the way his lower lip drew in like he was resisting the urge to start worrying it between his teeth, the way he drew in a breath he didn't fully release as the realization started to settle over him; all of it indicated that the severity of what was about to happen was starting to fall over him.
“This is sounding more and more like a conflict or a fork in the road kind of thing.  Are…are you…considering leaving me to fend for myself again?”
There was a shake in his voice that made your gut clench and your throat close, momentarily thrown back to the dark corner of the damp hovel you'd called home in Stonewood you used to curl up in when the emotions and loneliness was too much to bear enough to be functional.
…Levi was right.  You saw too much of yourself in Emery to be the one to have this conversation with him if you were getting emotional just hearing the fear of abandonment starting to creep into his voice.  You didn't think you had it in you to be the kind of firm he needed right now.
“That's entirely up to what happens when we have this conversation, and what comes of it,” you said softly.  “But there's not much I can really say before we do, since I don't know what's going to be said or what's going to happen.  For now, let's just focus on trying to make sure you're as ready as I can make you for being around a human that smells that good without attacking him.  I'd like for you to actually be capable of listening and having a conversation with him, and not in a blood frenzy the whole time.”
Emery seemed to be tuning some shade of green that looked extra sickley in the fire's light.  “Is his blood really that tempting?”
“To me, it's the best kind out there.  But that may be my relationship with him and how I see him.  It might not be so intense for you–hopefully not, anyway–but he still is alluring, even when he's not bleeding, we know from experience with not friendly vampires.  Which is why I still want to go over this with you.”
Walls forbid Levi's first impression of you is you trying to rip his throat out in a blood frenzy, even if that's what I've been warning him about since day one.  But if you got a whiff of him on the wall that day Maria fell and just didn't know it, and didn't attack him then, maybe we can get by and not have an incident now.
Emery got up, apparently unable to sit still with the mounting nerves as he started to pace around the fire, pulling on his fingers to pop them.  Despite the anxiety, he took a few deep breaths to compose himself, trying to calm down and focus on what you were about to tell him.  “Okay…Okay…what do I need to do?”
Tumblr media
When you got back from your trip to see Emery, it was late evening, the sun starting to turn darker shades of blue with swaths of oranges and reds able to be seen further in the distance towards the false horizon.  It made you want to go find a good perch on the walls to watch the sky changing colors, capture the moment in your sketchbook even if the black and white of your drawings couldn’t do the colors justice in your mind.  It wasn’t the same as that one time you had sketched the horizon beyond Wall Maria, though.  Knowing there was another wall beyond your line of sight made it feel a bit more hollow, though–it didn’t have the same effect of boundless and rich unknown as the horizon beyond Maria.
Besides, there was somewhere else you needed–and wanted–to be, something else you needed–and wanted–to be doing.
So, you turned your gaze away from the colors of the sky as you started to slow your pace to something more human, coming up on the Scout’s headquarters through the forest.  There was the sound of ODM gear whirring through the woods, which made you a touch more cautious as you weaved your way through the trees, lest you get in someone’s way, get struck by falling debris, or get seen being a bit too inhuman.
A shift in the wind, however, erased the last concern, as you caught Levi’s scent carried to you on the breeze, prompting you to breathe deep and switch directions.  His presence in the woods doing ODM practice answered your question of what time it was, and also gave you a direction to head towards in order to find who you needed in order to finish your day.  The two of you needed to talk–about many different things–and after the frustrating interruption this morning and your own inability to stay awake last night ruining the chance of some much needed–uninterrupted–time together earlier, you were hoping to correct that tonight.
You refrained from putting yourself into his path while he was training.  Everyone was getting antsy with all the time that you’d spent not going out on expeditions, just waiting for something to change, practicing and drilling but not actually doing anything, needing to burn the energy.  Not to mention, with how much of that first stretch of time after the wall fell Levi spent recovering thanks to that incident with the hunters, you were sure he was still in the stage where he appreciated being able to move around and do things again, including the more routine training.
The thought of the hunters had something nag at the back of your mind, a relevant and troublesome little detail that you’d forgotten with how your focus had been elsewhere recently.
Later.  You could add that to the list for later–you didn’t want to give Levi the impression that the prep talk with Emery had gone poorly, no need for him to worry, yet–there was enough to worry as it was, and already almost too much to talk about.
You made your way back towards the treeline, but stayed deep enough in the trees that no one by the actual headquarters building would be able to see you.  Once you found the spot, you used your ability to jump much higher than normal to make your way up to a high off the ground but sturdy tree branch, sitting gearless atop it and waiting for Levi to come back through once he finished his practice.
You didn’t have anything to do with you, so you simply waited for a while, legs dangling over the edge and kicking slowly as you listened to the sounds of Levi practicing, sometimes far away, and sometimes much closer.  The whir from the cables operating, the whoosh of gas every now and then, the sound of his heart beating a bit harder than normal, grunts, the sound of legs, boots, and arms thumping across harder surfaces when he braced or kicked off something.  There wasn’t the sound of any blades being unsheathed, or titan dummies swinging through the air, so it really was just him out here right now, practicing the movements on the ODM gear itself.  You could envision what he was doing rather clearly in your mind’s eye, the way he twisted and arched through the air, how quickly he was able to weave around the trees with effortless seeming use of the cables–
You were pulled from the images in your mind when you heard him coming closer than he had while practicing, focusing back on the world around as his gear brought him closer to you–not directly to you, he hadn’t spotted you yet, but close.
Sure enough, with your enhanced sight, you spotted him headed towards the treeline off to your left before he saw you, though once you were within visual range, it seemed to only take a few heartbeats for him to spot the movement of your kicking feet and the out-of-place sight of you in uniform but without the gear perched on a tree branch so high above the ground.  As soon as he’d processed your presence, he changed course, reaching you in a matter of seconds and coming to a nimble stop on the tree branch beside you.
“How long have you been out here?” he asked, remaining standing even though you had yet to make any move to leave your perch.  There was a fine sheen of sweat on his forehead, hair a little damp seeming near the temples and nape of his neck, heartbeat still a bit quicker and breaths a bit heavier from pushing himself during his training.
A quick glance towards the sky revealed that while the light hadn’t disappeared entirely, it had gotten significantly darker since you first heard Levi in the woods, and the temperature appeared to be cooling, as well.  “Not too long.  The sun was already setting by the time I reached the woods.”
“Since you’re taking it easy in a tree branch instead of pacing a hole in my quarters, I’m guessing the talk with the kid went well?”
“More or less,” you admitted, which prompted a raised brow from him, but you waved it off, getting to your feet.  “We can talk about that once we’re settled in.  I’m assuming you haven’t ate yet, and it’ll get cold soon, so we should probably head inside before trying to talk about anything or we’ll end up here for hours.”
Levi let out a soft exhale, turning on the branch ready to take off again now that you looked like you were ready to get moving, yourself.  “You’re always fretting over me,” he grumbled, gaze turned back towards the headquarters.
“Someone should,” you returned, coming over to give him a gentle kiss on the cheek and brush your fingers against his hand–you would have given it a squeeze, but they were both still gripping the controls for the ODM.  “And I believe I’m perfectly qualified to.”
You only lingered long enough to allow Levi to return the kiss on the cheek with one of his own.  It was a swift one, since your own kiss to the cheek had been in passing as you coiled to drop back to the ground, but it still made your cheek warm and your gut squirm, glad the cooling air was able to whip passed your cheeks and help cool them back down as the forest floor rushed towards you in the drop.  Up above, you heard Levi’s ODM cables fire and start to draw him to the edge of the forest at an angle to meet you down on the ground where the trees stopped.
If there wasn’t so much you two needed to talk about, and he didn’t need to take care of himself at the moment, and you were a bit more confident about how physical you both were ready to get, you might have been tempted to act on the wild thought to pin him up against a tree for a more heated kiss, but that–what happened in his office this morning, or on the couch the evening before–that was still…new.  And was going to take a bit more figuring out–and maybe even a bit of talking–before you’d feel comfortable springing something like that on him.
Though you were certainly starting to think about it.  Especially after this morning.
Not wanting to come out of the trees and meet Levi with burning cheeks, you shook the thoughts away, focusing on the more serious topics the two of you needed to discuss, or hell, thinking about what you were going to get from the mess hall for Levi to take instead–or whether the two of you were going to risk getting interrupted again in his quarters or if you should find somewhere else to have your long private talk and…whatever else you two felt like doing once the serious stuff was out of the way.
You hoped it was something similar to this morning…
Focus!
You were glad you were the one that was the vampire with the enhanced hearing when you reached Levi at the forest’s edge, so he couldn’t hear your still-calming heartbeat as you approached.  Your hands itched to reach out and twine his into yours now that he wasn’t holding the ODM controls, but you were out on the main grounds now, and would too easily be spotted, so you kept them to yourself.  Still, Levi walked closer to you than strictly necessary, and the back of his hand brushed against yours here and there along the way, which was enough for you.  You knew it was intentional, and it put the slightest smile on your lips as you walked in comfortable silence to the mess hall.
Levi hadn’t really needed to come down and fill his own plate recently with how on top of things you’d been when it came to bringing him his meals, which meant you two got a few looks from other Scouts when you entered the room together, mostly Levi given the now-rare sighting.  You accompanying him and the two of you standing so close was normal whenever the two of you were seen around quarters, so neither of you bothered to take even a half step away.
Though you took extra care not to focus on the chatter of the room around you.  If someone was gossiping and theorizing, you didn’t want to know.
“So, where do you want to talk?  I know normally it would be in your quarters, but it’s starting to feel like we’re going for a record on how many times we can be interrupted when we’re in there,” you remarked as the two of you accepted the meager rations on your trays.  You tried to make yours look different from Levi’s without picking anything he’d rather not eat, and you were painfully aware of the lack of a kettle in the kitchens being heated for what would usually be his black tea now that it had been cut from the budget.  You’d have to heat some up yourself once you figured out where you were going to be for the night.
Levi scowled at the mention of the numerous interruptions the two of you had racked up recently, but kept moving down the line.
Neither of you commented on the fact that there was only a quarter of a roll on your trays, now, but you certainly noticed.  Already they had cut back to a quarter, when just yesterday you’d been plating half rolls.  That had to mean that they were trying to make what they had last longer.  What had changed in a day that you didn’t yet know about?
“My quarters are fine–I already talked to Erwin, earlier, so the only people that would be interrupting are people we can ignore or I can tell to fuck off,” he replied, grabbing the utensils he needed at the end of the line and stepping away from the line, you only a few seconds behind him.
You could see the squad sitting at their usual table, especially once Petra waved at you with a slightly brighter smile than normal, despite the obvious and rapid cutbacks on the rations likely glaring at everyone.  She was probably happy to see that you and Levi seemed to be on speaking terms again–and keeping to each other’s sides as usual, to boot.  You returned the wave, giving a slightly apologetic smile as Levi led your way not to the squad table, but back towards the door.  If you were going to give him your share of rations, you couldn’t exactly sit at the table and do it in front of everyone else.
Petra started to look a little put out–you and Levi hadn’t been sitting with the squad as often since the rationing got worse–but you gestured behind Levi’s back, miming with your hand a mouth talking and giving a half shrug, the apologetic smile still in place.  Her eyes lit up with understanding and relief, and she gave you a little thumbs up before turning back to the group and talking in an excited tone with the others, who had been watching the little exchange.
Well, if the rest of the squad were under the impression that the two of you were going to have a much needed talk, that might mean that was four more people you didn’t have to worry about interrupting the two of you–and almost all of the most likely candidates to be dropping by Levi’s office, thankfully.
The two of you slipped out of the mess hall without much fuss–Hange started to head your way and try to flag you down, but a few frantic hand gestures for her to stop, don’t, cut it out, shoo, and a handful of thumb jabs towards Levi’s back had her looping around to ambush Miche instead with a shit eating grin that had you convinced you were going to get ambushed by her, later.
Once you were out in the hall, you lengthened your strides just enough to come even with Levi again, resisting the urge to just start shuffling the contents of your tray to his along the way.  You also resisted any little touches, since there were a few people that the two of you had passed on your way to the mess hall and continued to see in the hall along the way.
Once you were a few halls from the mess hall, Levi suddenly broke the silence, to your surprise.  “Your hand signals could use some work.”
Immediately, your cheeks started to burn as you realized he’d caught you trying to silently signal Hange, or Petra, or both.  “You weren’t supposed to see that.”
“Flailing behind my back like that made that pretty clear.”
The sound that came out of you was somewhere between a whine and a huff.  “Well…that’s a few more people we don’t have to worry about being interrupted by,” you grumbled.  Levi simply rolled his eyes, opening the door to let you both into his quarters without another comment on the matter.
You went right to his desk, happily noting that there wasn’t any paperwork left to do as you set your tray down a bit higher than where he was going to sit so that he could get to it when he was ready.  You heard the lock click in the door to ensure you wouldn’t be interrupted before Levi crossed the room, you moving out of the way and over to the side to shimmy his tea stash out of its hiding place and start working on getting tea started for the both of you.
“No white sage,” he warned as you heard the chair scrape across the floor behind you.  Your eyebrows rose, and you glanced over your shoulder at him.
“I’m pretty sure I’m set for the next few weeks, you know, I have no intention of biting you any time soon.”
Levi didn’t elaborate further, simply started in on his food and let the request stand, which you complied to, since he had his necklace to at least protect him from any compulsion.
With a small sigh, you pulled out a black tea that didn’t have any white sage mixed into it, silently wishing you had the money for the expensive as hell vanilla right now to add to your own cup as you put a bag each in both cups and set the kettle over the fire.  “So, I suppose first thing’s first, how did the talk with Erwin go?”
“He’s not happy.”
“...I expected as much, but are there details in there that I should know about?”
“He’s worried your head’s not in the right place to handle the situation.  And while he isn’t worried about the meeting itself, he is concerned about the Military Police and the Garrison turning over the walls looking for the kid.  He can’t get anyone on the inside for the investigation, so he’s worried about us being caught in the crossfire.  No matter what, this meeting involves ultimatums–either there’s progress made, or we’re cutting the risk.”
“Which is pretty much what you told me last night,” you murmured, turning around to lean against the counter and look at Levi directly while you were waiting for the water to heat.
“What about your talk with the kid–how’d it go?” Levi asked, watching you out of the corner of his eyes.
“I didn’t sugar coat it, so he’s…stressed about it.  He’s aware that me continuing to help him is now in question, and he’s nervous about being able to control himself when you come, even with the little coaching I gave him before I left.  Which is preferable–I’d rather he be overly cautious about his control than not cautious enough.  He wanted a heads up on what kind of questions you were going to have for him.  I refrained, since I don’t even know how you want to handle this besides doing it ‘your way’.”  Your head tilted slightly to the side as you paused, appraising Levi for a moment.  “By the way, are you going to tell me anything about how you're going to handle this, or am I going to have to play it all by ear and figure out on the spot when I should intervene and when you need me to stay back?”
“If it goes well, it'll just be talking, with me in the sunlight.  If not, I'll enter the cave.  You can cut in if he’s starting to go blood crazy, but otherwise, I need you to trust me and let me handle it.”
Well, that was better than no heads up, you supposed.  At least now you knew he was thinking of a more in your face kind of direct approach if necessary, which told you to be ready to act in a split second if things went sideways.  Well, more urgently, anyway, if he entered the cave and there wasn't going to be a natural barrier from the sun.
You let out a small sigh, still worried about the whole thing and wanting to fret, wanting to keep Levi far from the vampire that lacked control, but he was right.  The situation needed to be handled, and you did trust him–you were just worried about all the ways it could go wrong.  Fretting wasn't going to do anything to help, though.
The kettle started to whistle, and you straightened up to fetch it from the fire.  “Okay, so Emery is nervous but prepped, Erwin is not happy but allowing what seems to have developed into an abrupt last ditch effort to put Emery on a sustainable course–when's our leave to do this, again?  And what's the cover story?” You tacked on, pouring a little water into one cup, then the other, swirling the teabags in the water and watching the color start to turn before filling the rest of his cup, then yours, and letting the tea steep with the occasional stir.
You heard Levi shift behind you–just a little, but enough to catch your attention and make you listen a little harder to whatever he was about to say.
“We have a day to prepare, so we're not leaving suddenly.   We have to make an appearance at one of the refugee shelter locations out that way to lend a hand and assess the situation.  And we have to be back before the weekend.”
There was a frown on your face with the declaration, head tilting as you figured in your head roughly how long the trip would take by horseback, tried to guesstimate how long the talk with Emery would take, and you had to add in a trip to a refugee camp that would warrant the travel in the more public eye.  Take that timeframe over by a day and Erwin hardly left the two of you enough time to catch a couple hours of sleep, daring to be well rested would mean pushing the envelope on when you needed to be back by.
“That doesn't give us much time to do much…why the rush back?” you asked, glancing over your shoulder at him.
“Erwin needs us close, not in another part of the wall.”
At that, you turned more fully to face Levi, studying him sharply after the comment as if you could pry the answers out of his usually so-well-guarded expressions.  “Something’s happening with the refugee situation, or the food shortage–or both.  Something I’m missing.  With rations like this, and Erwin wanting us back as soon as possible to be on hand…what is it?”
“You’ll know soon enough.  But for now, I can’t tell you.”
You didn't respond this time, simply took a moment to appraise him.
You couldn’t be in every circle, now, could you?  There were going to be things you didn’t know about.  So you let go of the thought of pushing for more, especially with the comment you would know what it was soon even if it couldn't come from him.
But now that the topic had been brought up and you were really looking at him, there was a shadow in Levi’s eyes, making them not as bright, not as blue.  A small crease between his brows that wasn’t normally there, his shoulders a little higher and pulled in from the tension he was carrying, and a bit more of a downturn to his lips than normal.  Not to mention the gloom that seemed to loom over his presence just out of immediate sight.  There was something, he’d confirmed it, but he couldn’t tell you.  How long had he known, whatever this was?  How long had he been lugging it around–and had you missed it because of the distance with your little spat, and your attention being elsewhere, recently?
Your instinct was to go over to him immediately, run your hands over his shoulder, kiss the corners of his lips and the crease between his brows, try to chase some of the shadows away.  Restraint was what you chose, instead–just for now.  He was still eating, and you had his tea in hand.  Not to mention there were still a few more serious topics to bring up.  But after…after the serious, that look on his face and whatever was hanging over him you couldn’t know about yet was going to get your undivided attention.
Dropping the topic entirely for now, you came over to gently offer him the teacup, waiting until he'd taken it before you ran the now-free hand over his shoulders and leaned down to kiss his cheek.  It was the best you could give him for now while he was finishing his meal before you pulled away, claiming a seat on his couch and starting in on your own cup of tea.
There was a silence after that, one that felt comfortable and content despite the topics the two of you had just been discussing, and the unknown you were aware of but couldn't get answers for.  There were a few more serious things you wanted to touch on, but it could wait until he finished his meal and the two of you were more comfortably situated.  Especially since what remained mostly had to do with the two of you, specifically, and that didn’t feel like a conversation to be had while you moved about the room or from the other side of a desk like it was Scout business.
Considering how many times you wondered it, you two should probably talk about what exactly the two of you were, but you didn’t think either one of you were prepared to answer that, yet.  Everything was too…new, still.  There were too many simple things you were figuring out and growing accustomed to, and the brief hiccup where Levi had withdrawn had temporarily put a wrinkle in things that required adjusting all over again while the two of you smoothed things back out.
A bit sooner than you had been expecting, you heard Levi get up from the desk, footsteps making quick work of the space between his desk and the couch before he appeared in your direct line of sight, effectively pulling you out of the contemplative state you’d slowly started to drift into as he dropped onto the couch with a sigh that normal ears wouldn’t have been able to hear.  To your surprise, he didn’t pause once he was on the couch, but pivoted and started to lower himself towards you while face up, prompting you to swallow the last bit of tea in your cup quickly so you could set it aside and out of the way, opening your lap up for him to rest his head.  Much to your amusement, he almost looked like he was on the brink of pouting, arms folded across his chest as he settled in, a small patch of his cheeks starting to look a little flushed, eyes closed so he didn’t have to see your amusement, and the slightest frown on his face even though he was certainly making himself comfortable.  He was still a little tense, like when you’d asked him to do this yesterday evening, but the fact that he was initiating it in the first place was sign enough that he was comfortable with it–though the tension was probably coming from not knowing whether or not you would be comfortable with it right now, or if it was a one time special occasion thing.
You chuckled as he started to settle down with his positioning enough that you could safely put your arms down, one hand instinctively finding its way into his hair to start the gentle threading through his hair you’d been doing yesterday.  As soon as you did, you could see the tension starting to drain out of him, even with the chuckle making it clear you found something about this amusing.
“Not so ridiculous anymore, I see,” you teased him gently, earning a muttered, ‘shut up’ from him in response that got another chuckle from you, your smile easy and relaxed as you watched how he reacted to the simple touch.  How the eyes squeezed shut softened so it didn’t look forced anymore, simply like he was enjoying it, like he would drift off to sleep if you kept going; how the small frown on his face was starting to go away as well, the corners of his lips smoothing out to more of a neutral expression.  The crease between his eyes slowly started to disappear as well, and more of his upper body weight rested against your lap, head tilted back so his face was looking up at you.  It also opened his neck up to you enough the marks from your usual feeding could easily be seen, but you were more focused on his facial expressions, the tension slowly bleeding out of him as your fingers gently threaded through his hair, ran from the part in the front back until your fingers were bumping into your thigh, and back.
Your other hand started resting on the back of the couch, but you felt it would be more comfortable resting at your side.  However, since Levi was currently stretched out where you would normally rest your hand…
There was a moment of hesitation, only because you still had yet to stumble across what level of intimacy was too far for Levi–or perhaps you were going so slow that the line was naturally moving further and further back before you could even reach it.  Still, you lowered your elbow into the gap between the couch and his side, and then very carefully rested your forearm little at a time across his abdomen.  You felt a small tremble beneath your arm at the initial contact, then a brief tension that went through his whole body and had you pausing before his continued silence and lack of pulling away made you feel comfortable with finishing laying it along his middle.  After a few long moments of simply running your fingers through his hair and letting your arm rest across his middle, Levi’s arms unfolded, and while one arm stayed laying haphazardly across his chest, the other reached down to twine his fingers into yours before resting the joined hands at his side.  The warmth from the moment that had been residing in your chest spread to what felt like every inch of you at that, your smile wide and heart fluttering for a moment before it calmed back down at a pace that seemed to match that brief tension flooding back out of Levi.
Not wanting to shatter the gentle moment he’d initiated, especially since he had just started initiating these little intimacies, you didn’t immediately bring up the last few things on your mind.  It was tempting to believe this little action of Levi’s answered one of your main questions you wanted to bring up, but you figured you should probably still ask, just to be sure.  So far, save Levi shutting you out briefly, you had been damn good at your communication with him–even before this budding more intimate relationship with him.  That was not a streak you wanted to break.  Communication and trust were two large cornerstones of this relationship, and you weren’t going to skimp anywhere on either value.
So, after relishing in the silent moment long enough you were worried even rarely-sleeps Levi would fall asleep if it went on any longer, you finally spoke up.
“I’m assuming with the way the past twenty-four hours have gone, we are, but I still want to ask just to make sure…we’re okay now, yes?” you asked him quietly, peering down at him and waiting for his reaction.
There was a beat of silence as he considered your question, and then a reassuring squeeze of your hand in answer before he opened his eyes to gaze up at you.  “We’re okay,” he confirmed quietly, causing a cool wave of relief to seep through you to hear it voiced out loud.
“Still a shitty situation with the kid, and…”  there was a moment of hesitation that you waited patiently during as Levi sought the right words for what he wanted to add.  “I’m still worried about the danger it’ll put you in.  And with all this shit happening we might need to revisit being reckless.  Calling it calculated or taking an opportunity doesn’t change when a move was actually risky or impulsive.”
You felt a touch of shame coloring your cheeks at the comment.  You’d defended your choice about helping Emery as calculated and opportunistic, if a bit risky, to Erwin, but Levi knew it was more emotional than that.  He knew that back in Sedalia it had been a snap decision based on emotion over logic–impulsive, and you’d doubled down on it and had been trying to just make it work ever since then.  The logic had been applied after the fact to try and dig you out of the trouble while carrying Emery out with you.
“I’ll admit that taking on Emery was more of an impulsive thing, and the planning was done on the spot as things unfolded–”
Levi interrupted you before you could get much further.  Again, he knew.  Starting to say it was possibly more of a formality than a necessity.  “Your heart may be in the right place with the kid, but you’ve got to use your head–you can’t do that impulsive shit.  That’s how people get killed in this life.”
There was a harder edge in Levi’s eyes as he said it, but beneath it, a flash of something buried deep that was clawing its way to the surface with the topic.  You didn’t brush off his attempt to give you words of wisdom–you’d already acknowledged that he had more experience than you in certain areas.  Levi wasn’t a fool, and you valued his input.  So right now, seeing that something stirring in the depths of his gaze that was riveted on you made you reflective, instead.
How many people had he seen die because of impulsive actions, unnecessarily risky decisions?  You knew he was worried about you, but what if you’d been causing more than that, what if you’d been scaring him with some of your actions recently?  Maybe all of this was about more than just the danger of the Emery situation: what if he was scared this kind of decision making would bleed into other areas–like out with the Titans–and cost you everything?  His early perception that you were nigh invincible when he’d first uncovered what you were had been shattered with recent events, he knew there were risks out there, he knew you could be hurt or killed, you’d told him yourself during that interrogation that the Titans still posed a risk to you in extreme cases or if you got careless or too brash.
The hand that had been running through his hair since he’d laid down in your lap moved so that it could instead rest against his cheek in reassurance.  “Levi, listen to me.”  You took care to keep your voice soft, but your tone held a firm resolve in it meant to reassure him that you were being serious about what you said, that you weren’t simply giving him platitudes.  “I know what I’m doing is risky, like we’ve talked about in the past.  I know that this was more of an emotional decision when I resolved to help Emery, but I’ve been doing my best to be smart about this from here on out without having to abandon him.  I know there are hunters after him.  I know the Garrison has a personal vendetta against him–for good reason.  I know the Military Police have gotten involved now.  I know going down into the Underground with him is risky to me as well, that it reopens the door to threats that we were trying to shut out.  I know that every time I go to visit him, and every time I go out on a hunt with him, I risk being there at a moment he’s caught by any of those three parties.  I understand that there is risk to me–and a great deal of it–with the situation as it is right now, and that change needs to happen to lessen that risk if we’re going to get anywhere.  And I understand that if Emery isn’t willing to be flexible enough to work with me, to learn what I’m trying to teach him, then it’s not worth the rise in risk and I’ll have to back off and leave him to fend for himself, as much as I don’t want to.  I understand that it was an emotional decision I made with heavy risks, and there is a very real possibility that if something doesn't change, the situation will reach a point where I can't help him without doing more harm than good on a larger scale. And I know you and Commander Erwin are of the opinion that I've already reached the point where I should have backed out by now.  But right now, as slight of a chance as it's starting to seem, I can still try to help him, if he listens.  And as long as there's that chance, I'm going to keep trying to help him.”
As expected, he didn’t seem to be entirely assured, since the risk still existed, but your acknowledgement of the specific risks to you, and the acknowledgement that it could get too dangerous to try to help and you would back off when it did, seemed to put something in his mind at ease, at least, and the hard edge in his gaze was softening again.
“Like I've said…just don't do anything shitbrained.  Think next time, don't just jump right to commitment,” he remarked, getting in one last chastisement–hopefully it would be the last one you needed to be on the receiving end of for this topic.
“While we're talking about potential future problems, or at least avoiding them,” you started to say, the statement stopping Levi from relaxing back into the silence again and prompting a raised brow.  You traced the outer edge of his lower lip as you considered your phrasing and tried to get him to relax without directly saying it wasn't anything bad you were about to say.  Just a little request.  The motion partially did its job, as you heard a slight catch in his breath as your hand and arm seemed to tingle at the light motion and the gentle press against the more plump lower lip.
“I'm okay with you needing space to think things through sometimes–I'm used to it by now.  And I'm fully ready to give you that space if and when you need it.  But next time–and realistically, there will likely be a next time–please don't shut me out like that again?  It's miserable for both of us, and not at all productive, it just lets things fester and…and I prefer when we're like this.  When we can talk about things.  Hell, I'll even take some heated arguments when certain topics come up over a stoic silent treatment.”
Levi's gaze was riveted to you, and you knew that even though the intimate touch was probably distracting, he still listened intently to what you had to say and took it in.  “I’ll remember that.”
“I should certainly hope so,” you mused lightly, hand still on his cheek instead of in his hair and starting to lightly stroke along his cheekbone.
“Is there any more depressing shit you want to bring up or are you going to finally kiss me?” Levi asked in response, cocking an eyebrow at you in an almost challenging manner you knew would melt away the moment you started kissing him.
“Depends, are you going to bite me again?”
The challenging air vanished almost instantly, and the light flush that had crept into his cheeks when he first laid down came back a bit stronger at the reminder as he averted his gaze, the hand still twined with yours tightening its grip.  “Shut up,” he mumbled, and you couldn’t help the amusement you felt at his embarrassment over something he did twice, and so confidently the second time.
Your fingers lightly traced his jaw, and you managed to keep any laughter in, though you were grinning down at him.  “Hey, it’s a legitimate question.  It was quite startling, I’ll admit–”
“You wouldn’t shut the fuck up even though Eld was right outside, so I did something,” Levi grumbled, cheeks continuing to flush and squirming slightly on your lap self-conciously.
“And how did that work out for you?”
He frowned, and actually met your gaze again, expression pulling into a scowl whose effect was ruined by the pink cheeks.  “You’re the one who moaned, how was I supposed to know you were going to react that damn loudly?” he accused.
“I can think of someone else that moans quite loudly when they’re–”
Pink cheeks quickly turned burning red, and he cut you off before you could finish the sentence, looking away once again and appearing so exasperated and flustered it was a miracle he wasn’t stumbling over his words in his rush to get you to hush.  “For fuck’s sake, just say you didn’t like it, you don’t have to tease so much.”
Ah, too far with the teasing, then.  Time to reassure and soothe, then, lest he get the wrong impression.
Gently, you tilted his head back in towards you and leaned down to kiss him just above a furrowed eyebrow.  “I never said I didn’t like it.”
Levi’s gaze snapped back towards you, eyes slightly wider to reflect his surprise, though the blush wasn’t lessening.  Your fingers found their way back up into his hair, your motions circular, relaxing, and hopefully reassuring enough to help keep him from tensing back up.
“I liked it.  Though maybe not the best move if you’re wanting me to be quiet–hence the teasing.  I certainly wouldn’t complain if you bit back more often.”
Levi scowled again, but there wasn’t as much irritation in it this time, and his gaze remained on you.  “Asshole.  Didn’t have to tease so much.”
“Sorry, I couldn’t resist, since you interrupted me with your teeth last time.”
His eyes narrowed on you, and you could have sworn you could see him weighing in his mind if he should bite you right now with the attitude you were giving him.  The fact it seemed to be more of a motivator than a punishment seemed to win out, and he let it go, reaching out tentatively and with more intensive focus than he probably wanted to admit with his free hand to gently run the back of his fingers under your chin, causing a soft sigh to escape your lips.
Standoffish and crass words juxtaposed with such tender gestures and what seemed like any excuse to be near?  Yeah, you were back on good terms again, and any worry that there might be some form of lingering friction because of the Emery situation evaporated from its dark corner in your mind.
“Before we get caught up in the moment, one more thing I wanted to ask–last one, I promise,” you remarked, adding the last part quickly and with a faint smile when you saw exasperation spark in his eyes.  “And besides, it’s on topic.”
Gently, your hand wandered once more away from his hair, down his jaw, lightly cupped around the back and side of his neck, moving down towards his collar.  “I just thought I’d ask ahead of time, since sometimes things get a bit more…heated, when we have more than a few moments to ourselves.  Are you okay with…”  It was your turn for your face to burn, doing your best not to let yourself choke on the actual question itself with the nerves squirming in your gut and trying to work its way up to strangle you into awkward silence.  “...with me…touching you more?”
Levi took in your flushed face, how it was your turn to stumble over the words with some self consciousness, and took a moment to study you closely before he pressed for a bit of clarification.  “...How so?”
“Nothing big, I’m not talking–I just mean…something like…like this,” you remarked tentatively, lowering your eyes to track your own movements as you let your hand dip lower than his shoulders without his prompting for the first time, fingers lightly trailing down the center of his chest until you were just above his navel.  Then, your hand flattened and pressed gently against the solid muscle you could feel beneath the fabric of his shirt, slowly running that hand back up before doing a slow sweep over his pectoral, thumb trailing behind and doing light repetitive strokes along the upper curve of the muscle.
You felt a slight quiver beneath your palm when your hand slid down to his navel and back up, could feel his eyes burning into you with their intensity and hear his heart rate pick up, hear the soft and pleased sigh that caught in his throat and he tried to hold as if worried it would break the moment while you came back up and he waited to see what else you might do.  He relaxed back into your lap at the touch, head heavier against your thighs.
You assumed, based on the reaction, that was a green signal for you to continue, that he was nothing but welcoming for more touches like this.  More intimate, more lingering–nothing too much, yet, but this was okay.  Running your hands along his chest to explore and feel above the fabric of his shirt, possibly his back, too, when you had access (unlike right now).  Maybe you could get away with resting a hand on his knee under tables from now on, as well.
And maybe, this little bit more would translate to kissing as well.
Your touch lightened, fingers trailing slowly back down the center of his chest.  This time you were more confident in the gesture, feeling every dip and crest of the toned muscles beneath from years of fighting and ODM gear.
As your fingers explored new territory much more carefully, you let your gaze drift back up to Levi’s face, catching a glimpse of his eyes half-lidded and appearing a silvery blue in the shadows of the room, gaze currently still locked on your fingers as they trailed along his chest, a slight part in his lips as if that gasp you’d heard him catch and hold was threatening to break through any moment, and you saw the smooth bob of his adam’s apple as he lifted his gaze and caught you watching him.  Before either of you could speak and potentially break the moment, you leaned down to finally kiss him again, eager to discover how much deeper it would go now.
There was still the lingering taste of the black tea on his lips, a taste that had become so familiar and so entwined with him that it brought comfort and reassurance once you tasted it.  Levi was apparently eagerly awaiting the kiss, because there was no delay in its return.  His lips met yours with eagerness, the sigh he'd been holding evaporating into your parted lips as you went deep at first contact.  The hand that had been resting under your chin and starting to trail a light line down your throat moved to naturally tangle in your hair, holding you closer to him while his lips hungrily met yours.
Still explorative, you let your tongue swipe briefly along his lower lip when you trapped it in your kiss, causing a shudder to race through his body and a soft moan that disappeared within the next kiss.  Each gentle brush of your hand along his chest and abdomen caused the slightest of trembles in him, greater when you traced your fingers along his abdomen, or lightly along the very center of his chest–it took more control than you wanted to admit to resist brushing your fingers along the arch of his pectorals where his nipples would be, feeling like that might be a little much if he ended up being sensitive there for where the two of you were in terms of intimacy right now.
His fingers untwined from yours, and as much as you hated the sudden lack of his hand entwined in yours, it found its place in the small of your back, encouraging you to start shifting position to be closer to him on the couch with how he seemed to be attempting to hold you closer to him.  Tentatively, his hand started to travel up your back as you shifted to try and stretch out beside him without taking up his space on the couch, his fingers splayed and carefully exploring the curves as he held you partially pressed against his side and partially atop his chest, his head no longer propped up and now lying against the couch cushion.  At least it still gave you a good position to kiss him deeply from, even if the attempt to both squeeze onto the couch without invading each other’s space too much but without breaking the make-out was an awkward angled mess from the waist down you were both attempting to ignore.
Still, you could feel his heart beating in his chest as you allowed him to hold you so close to him, a soft hum building in your chest as you pressed deeper in your kiss, testing to see if he’d let your tongue delve a bit deeper, your teeth trapping one of his lips with a bit more fervor.  He was hesitant at first, you could feel the hitch in the flow as he seemed to mentally puzzle out how he felt about it.  He allowed it–for now, with hesitance–so you didn’t push it much further for the moment.  You were content to enjoy the taste of him, the depth of it, the hunger burning in you that had nothing to do with vampirism with every touch and press, the security and warmth with the way he held you oh-so-close to him, his hand doing a slow map of the curves of your back and sides.
Levi’s confidence in what he was doing was returning again, the hesitance from the depth you brought to the kiss and the new things you’d been slowly trying melting away as he figured out how to meet you in stride with it through a bit of trial and error while letting you lead–not that you had a clearer picture of how this worked.  Still, you were pretty sure it was pride you felt sparking inside you alongside the thrill of excitement when you felt Levi’s teeth graze your lips like they had earlier, followed by a quick swipe of his tongue that was almost fast enough to be brushed off as accidental.  The fact that he did it a second time was what made it obvious it wasn’t an accident, and a moan escaped your control as his tongue dared to venture as deep as yours had wandered earlier.  His hands tightened their grip on you, while yours sought out more of him, one hand tangling in his hair while the other dipped closer to his waist at his side before planting in the couch edge beside him to give you the leverage you needed to try and shift positions slightly.
There was a slight break, a gasp for air from both of you as you hovered more over him, stomach brushing against his, getting ready to swing a leg over to try and shift to straddling him.  A shudder went through Levi, and his grip tightened, but this time it was to hold you back and away, just enough that you couldn’t silence him with a kiss and he could look at you, halting the movement before your legs could lock around his waist.  His heart was beating faster, and he looked…not panicked, but definitely flustered, and he seemed to struggle to reach for the right words to explain what had just caused the interruption that was the source of the question in your gaze.
“Wait–wait, not yet, none of that–sex–it's–shit, just…”  Miraculously, there was only the slightest blush on his cheeks and his ears, but he may have been too pressed to try and explain to be the embarrassed kind of flustered.  He struggled with the words, one of your hands resting just above his heart and feeling it continue its racing pace as he fumbled with what he was trying to explain.  “Not right now, It’s too–right now, it’s too…much.”
Even though he finally settled on the words, he didn’t at all seem satisfied with how he’d put it, like it wasn’t exactly what he wanted to say, but it was all he could manage in the moment.  But you were pretty sure you understood what he was getting at with just this bit, anyway.
You were admittedly a little thrown off by the voicing of the possibility of sex being on the table, even if it was a voicing just to set it aside.  You hadn't even thought of it as on the table in the first place, hadn't thought of it as an option yet, and it hadn't been on your mind as you'd been shifting your position to be a bit closer.
Not yet, anyway.  And now that he said it, you couldn't help but to think of it.  You couldn't help but wonder what he'd look like, mind presenting you with an image pieced together with moments from your kisses and the times you'd fed off him, your imagination filling in the gaps to give you mental imagery of Levi panting, head thrown back against the couch, hair cascading backwards and down to the couch cushion, heartbeat racing in your ears, eyes squeezed closed as they rolled from pleasure, eyebrows arched in a curve akin to his back coming off the couch as an unrestrained moan made it passed his lips–
Fuck.
You hadn't thought of it until he said it, and now your cheeks were burning as you desperately tried to shove the thought out of your head, shutting down the imagined sounds in your ears and trying to snuff out the stray thought of how unrestrained would he be if the two of you weren't pacing yourselves walking a blurry line in regards to intimacy right now that made both of you hold back in different ways.
No, no.  You hadn't even been considering it yourself before he mentioned it, he just said he wasn't comfortable with sex yet, so you didn't even want to think about it–especially not right now.  It was the first line–temporary or not–Levi had put down between the two of you, and you sure as hell were going to respect it, even if it took a couple seconds to wrestle down the images the mention of the potential future sex with Levi immediately coaxed to mind.
You'd even said yourself before trying this that you weren't thinking of doing anything too much yet.  You two…weren't there yet.  As much as the thought of Levi in the throes of sex made your heart pound in your ears and a flush of excitement try to flood through your system, sex was not the intention tonight, anyways.  You just wanted to test the intimacy behind closed doors between you two a little more, wanted to give both of you time to readjust to each other again considering how fresh and new your resolving the issues with one another was.
Not yet.  He was right.  Despite the reaction you had to the thought of it, sex was far too much right now.  Not yet.
Levi had stilled entirely beside and underneath you, holding his breath and watching every shift of your facial expression as he tried to read how you were reacting to his request, if he needed to keep trying to find the better words for what he wanted, trying to see before you spoke if he'd upset you with his request.
 “Okay,” you said simply in response, answering him hopefully before he felt the need to start explaining himself.
Levi’s gaze was trained on yours, searching every flicker of emotion he could see there.  He didn't look entirely convinced for some reason.  “…It is?”
“Yes, it is, Levi, I promise.  I don’t feel like we’re quite there yet, myself,” you responded, and when his expression seemed to turn even more dubious, you expanded a bit more on what you meant.   “It certainly feels like we might be, sometimes, but…I’d rather we continue figuring this part out, first, before we try tackling that beast.”
Levi’s gaze was still fixed on you, though the fact he had started to relax once again helped reassure you that he was accepting your explanation.  His hand shifted from its position tangled in your hair to instead carefully cup your cheek, thumb stroking along the arch of your cheekbone in slow, repetitive motions. You could have sworn there was a light of…perhaps a touch of amusement in his eyes, and this knowing look to boot that you couldn’t for the life of you understand why it was there.
“...What?” you finally asked after a few moments spent just like that, with him looking at you that way, cupping your cheek, stroking the arch of your cheekbone…
“Your eyes are red,”  He responded simply.  “Fading, now, but…they were turning red.”
You felt your cheeks heat at the heavy dose of implication in that seemingly innocent comment.  That little biological trait you couldn’t shake, at that time as the two of you were discussing sex?  Damned vampirism, giving you away like that.  He could probably guess pretty easily just where your mind went, and just how deeply those thoughts had been rooted in emotion.  It didn’t take much at all to figure out why your eyes had started turning red, and you really hoped he didn’t press on it.
He probably wasn’t going to, given that he was the one to state that it was too early for sex.
The hand removed itself entirely from your cheek, and you started to sit back as Levi shifted to get up.
“You should head back to your room.  Since you made it pretty clear we were going to talk, they’re going to ambush you in the morning.  You should be in your room, not missing from it.”
He had a point. You hated to go already, but Hange and Petra were almost certainly going to ask how the talk went and if you and Levi were on good speaking terms again as soon as possible. Saying they’d wait until morning may even be the optimistic idea of when they’d come looking for you.  If they knew you’d been with Levi ‘making up’ and you were mysteriously not in your room the next morning…
Yes.  You needed to head back to your room.
You were pulled out of your thoughts by a gentle kiss on the corner of your lips, coaxing you back to the present gently but quickly as Levi spoke again.  “You’re pouting like a child–aren’t you sixty something?” he jabbed.
You rolled your eyes at the comment, returning the kiss with one of your own on his cheek.  “Technically speaking, though I doubt you want to go over what I think about my age all over again.  It’s fine, I’ll head back.  We’re going to be spending practically the rest of the week together, anyway.”
“On business,” Levi reminded you.  “There won’t be time for much else.”
“I know, but still,” you murmured, resisting the urge to reach out and touch his knee, to try something else that could be taken as some kind of initiation or trying to explore a bit more instead of leaving.  Maybe he didn’t mean for you to leave immediately, but you were going to take it as a dismissal. If you didn’t, then you were likely to end up continuing to look for excuses to stay.
Still reluctant, but now resolved enough to move, you got up from your seat on the couch, looking back at Levi briefly.  “I’ll see you first thing in the morning tomorrow, yes?”
Levi’s brows rose slightly.  “Have I said otherwise?”
Rolling your eyes, you did allow yourself a gentle brush against his shoulder, giving it a small squeeze before you started making your way to leave.  “Goodnight, Levi.”
“Goodnight,” you heard him answer quietly a few moments before the door shut behind you.
You wished you could linger longer in the moment, but he was right about needing to be in your own room, you didn’t want to risk being caught out of it when everyone knew where you had been the night before.
However, you had the feeling the next few days were going to be…trying.  You doubted you’d have much time to even think about anything else once you reached Emery, and who knew what waited for you upon your return that had Erwin giving you such a small window to get this done and return inside.
That little moment on the couch was just going to have to tide you over until the two of you had more than just a few moments to spare, however long that was going to be.

Vampire!Levi x Reader ~ Blood Lust
Warning: Cursing, Mentions of blood
Summary: You meet the figure of your nightmares and realize he isn’t that bad as you thought
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Your dreams had been tortured and invaded by some mysterious figure that always ended up in you waking up in a cold sweat, sometimes realizing you had been crying in your sleep and other times you had one of your parents shaking you awake from those nightly terrors.
Tonight wasn’t any different though,
Snapping your eyelids open you stared up to your ceiling as the gentle moonlight shined through your thin curtains into your room, raising your hand to your cheek you felt a familiar wetness cover your delicate skin. Sighing you sat up as you had begun to calm down your pounding heart which hampered against your ribs as if it were trying to escape. Rubbing your eyes with the sleeve of your pajamas you flicked your orbs to your nightstand where a small little alarm sat, 3:34. Internally groaning you had accepted the fact that you weren’t going back to sleep any time soon.
 ‘Might as well get myself a drink..’ you thought as you swung your bare legs over the side of the bed, the soft pitter-patter of your feet against the cold floor as you ventured downstairs to get a drink. Arriving in the kitchen you took out a cup from the cupboard, placing it on the kitchen island you walked around it and opened the fridge, pulling out chocolate milk you poured some into the cup before putting it back in the fridge and bringing your drink back to your room with you, careful not to awaken your parents you ghosted along the hallway and creaked open the door to your room.
The atmosphere in your room felt cold and empty but you just shrugged it off and sat down at the end of your bed, gazing around your room whilst taking sips of your chocolate milk quietly. You heard a slight shuffle in the far corner of your room by your desk where you had your desk with your laptop and other devices. Keeping your tired gaze trained on that part of the room you suddenly started hearing a quiet humming coming from it making your eyebrow quirk in confusion. ‘’Don’t tell me I left my laptop on again..’’ you groaned quietly finishing your drink and leaving it on the nightstand.
‘‘No you didn’t leave your laptop on again’‘ a cold voice said through the darkness making you freeze up wide-eyed staring into the shadows. A couple of silent seconds later a male walked out from the darkness, raven yet soft looking hair that shined from the moonlight, smooth pale skin accompanied by distant ice cold eyes staring back at you. Stumbling over your feet you fell back in an attempt to make some distance from this stranger ‘‘what the- who the living world are you?!’‘ you quietly screech at the man who clicked his tongue. ‘‘I’m Levi, I already know who you are, Y/N L/N’‘ Levi said as you visibly paled, grabbing the nearest thing next to you-you chucked it at Levi in a panic as he swiftly dodged it. ‘‘Calm the fuck down’‘ he seethed walking towards you frowning as you flung your entire body out your bedroom door in an attempt to get away.
Levi rolled his eyes and pulled you back into your room by your ankles, forcefully making you skid across your bedroom floor as he locked the door before turning back to you. ‘’Now calm the fuck down, I’m not going to hurt you idiot’’ he said sternly as you gulped nodding ‘’finally listened to me...’’ he exhaled from relief before sitting down at the bottom of your bed as you cautiously sat on the floor watching him. ‘’What do you want? How do you know me?’’ you asked as he shook his head ‘’I don’t want anything, I know you from the multiple nightmares you have, I’m assuming you have someone in them that looks like me? Because you won’t get out of my fucking dreams’’ he said watching you in thought. Hesitantly nodding you bite your lip after recognizing Levi as the figure that invaded your dreams and shifted them into nightmares. ‘’Yeah you’ve been in my dreams but as soon as you pop up it turns to a nightmare’’ you frown at the thought as he shrugs.
‘‘Didn’t think you would actually get nightmares or whatever from me actually appearing in your dreams’‘ Levi said as you rose an eyebrow at him in confusion. ‘‘What? What are you even talking about? And what are you even here for?’‘ you ask as he sends you a quick glare. ‘‘To stop you from fucking appearing in my dreams, it pisses me off and shitty-glasses won’t shut the fuck up about her conspiracy theories about us’‘ Levi snarls as you sigh and sit back in your gaming chair. ‘‘Then how do you stop that? I’d actually like to stop having you mentally torment my dreams, I’d like to keep my sanity thanks’‘ you say laced with sarcasm. Levi squints his eyes at you as you nervously avoid his gaze, noticing his eyes changed from those cold-ice color to a deep red made you nearly choke on your own spit. ‘‘What the fuck is up with your eyes! Theyre red!’‘ you screech as Levi kept staring at you silently.
You continuously glanced back to your locked door and Levi anxiously wanting to get out of this situation. ‘He wouldn’t be fast enough to catch me if I quickly run and get out of my room.. Then I could wake up my parents or something... I gotta be quick though..’ you thought trying to muster up a good plan of escaping. ‘’If you’re thinking of running, don’t bother... How about I take you back to the others? We can sort everything out... Plus I’m hungry’’ Levi said as he continued to eye your neck. ‘’What do you mean you’re hungry, I’ll get you something if you want’’ you offered. ‘Wait what!? Y/N cut this shit out! This guy just appeared out of thin air in your room! Dammit!’ you mentally scolded yourself as Levi shook his head at your offer. ‘’I don’t eat human food’’ he stated blankly as you felt yourself getting more confused at him. ‘’Wait Levi you don’t ea-’’ you were cut off when he let out a loud groan as if trying to contain himself before he suddenly shot up and yanked your body over to the bed in front of him. ‘’WHAT ARE YOU-!?’’ you tried to scream but he covered your mouth ‘’shut the fuck up I’m not going to do anything to you I’m just going to feed off you, understand?’’ he growled as you nodded completely terrified if you didn’t agree.
Levi slid your shirt off of your shoulder exposing your neck to him before he opened his mouth, catching a glimpse of- wait.. were those fangs!? FANGS!? ‘He’s some vampire fucker!? What is this!?’ you mentally screamed feeling his breathe on your skin before you felt two little pricks in your neck like needles had been stuck into your delicate skin. You felt Levi hold your head up by placing his hand under your chin to support you as you felt like jelly from his touch. Hearing low growls come from him as he held you up against him, satisfying his hunger before his mouth left your neck as you lay against him in a drowsy state.
Feeling Levi lick your neck from the last bit of blood he picked you up and disappeared through your window into the night.
a/n; WOOO VAMPIRE LEVI cause he's hot and him as your vampire bf? yes please.
no warnings!! just vampire levi being a househusband in the late hours of the night :,)
---
vampire!levi would clean your living space when you're sleeping. it's never a surprise to you whenever you'd wake up to faint clanking of pots or featherlight footsteps roaming around your cottage. to anyone else, it could've been mistaken as an intruder, but you knew it was just levi who had been lurking through in subtle silence – no one could ever be as quiet as him.
he's swift and calculated with his stealth (and it's a bonus that he has your entire place mapped out from the entrance to the floorboards – he's just that good). he'll make sure everything is polished and dusted by the break of dawn so you won't have to worry about a thing the moment you wake up. and when he's done by 2 am, he'll carefully insert himself next to you, quietly and slowly as to not stir your slumber. he'll wrap his strong arms right around you to ensure you won't be squirming through the rest of the night. he'll make sure that you have a refilled glass of water on your night stand as well as a few books he's picked out for you while he was away for a few days.
he likes to spoil you like this, he thinks you deserve it and so much more. if he could pull down the universe and collect every star and speck in the sky, he would so do that for you. you are his world.
while wrapped up in his arms, he would whisper the sweet nothings of his deepest truths for only you to hear and no one else. even if you were drifted off somewhere into dreamland, he knew you had heard some capacity of it from the way your lips slightly curved upward and your body shuffling closer to his chest.
"ill gut out any man who tries to take you away from me. you're mine as i am yours."
"you're safe with me always, my sweet."
"i love you."
"gonna treat this bloody pussy so good"
Tumblr media
“chug chug chug!” the comrades had thrown a party after the expedition that ended yesterday. especially the 104th cadet corps, which was the only corps that had zero deaths. “what’s up [name]” you hear a familiar tone behind your back.
“hey jeannn” you turn back, hugging his large figure around your arm. jean chuckles as a response and sasha try to get you off. all of you were wasted with drinks, especially since both commander and captain weren’t here, so the teenagers took this chance to drink all night without getting punished.
“you’re so drunk [name]” eren snickers who was sitting with mikasa enjoying few shots with her. eren was eager to join the scattered people but mikasa didn’t let him since she knew what kind of mess eren would cause.
“how’s your boyfriend, still with his fang?” a dude from the military police comes up to you, trying to get your attention but jean blocks him.
“you got something with our captain and his girlfriend?” jean stands up in front of you, making the guy stutter.
“ch-chill, just wanted to check if she left that blood craving shortie” the guy chuckles in shame.
“don’t worry he loves the taste of me darling” you blow kisses to the guy as he walks away with annoyance, snatching a beer from his group and chugs on it shamelessly.
“is captain alright?” connie joins in. weeks before the expedition, hange wanted to try some experiment on the ackerman’s bloodline but mikasa wasn’t in the right condition so hange had to ask beg levi. levi refused countless times but like hange she is, she didn’t give up.
hange succeeded to ought levi for a day for her experiment. she started off with blood testing but something wasn’t right. but she didn’t tell him since she knew how mad levi would get with her. so she ignored the side effects and gave levi a shot of a purple liquid on his arm.
nothing happened for days until levi woke up with a fang on his teeth, he rushed to hange and she just chuckles while pricking the back of her head. levi almost slaughtered her but erwin and you managed to stop him. hange said it wasn’t a long-time thing so she kept it a secret, erwin and you were relieved but levi, he was ready to kill hange whenever he had the chance.
“yeah he’s doing fine” you fall back into jean’s embrace while closing your eyes, stressed to deal with levi and hange for the next few days with erwin.
“get off me now, will ya?” jean laughs as he pushes you away, helping you to sit on a chair. your eyes suddenly enlarged when you took a sit, you felt dampness around your panties. you weren’t sure if it was the craving for your dear own boyfriend levi or the worst, period.
it takes a couple of days for the survey corps to finish their journey on the expedition beyond the walls, which also means levi and you don’t have a chance to pleasure each other for days. this frustrated the fuck out of you both, so you wouldn’t be surprised if it was the wetness overflowing on your panties.
“...shit” you mumble under your breath, making mikasa catch you.
“what’s wrong?” mikasa asks you, her hands still on eren’s shoulder to avoid him running away from her.
“when was the last time i got my period?” you ask her in dizziness.
“ike a month ago?” mikasa knows everything about you. you and eren are practically her children. she would take care of you every day and she would get worried if you weren’t around her or with eren.
“fuck meee ugh” you groan in annoyance, knowing damn well know that you’ll have to suffer for about weeks with bothersome boys all over your space.
“go back to your dorm and change. maybe just sleep there. okay?” mikasa suggests you, taking the beer bottle from eren’s hand, making him complain.
“alrighttt ugh i wanna stay here a bit longer” you mess your hair up, complaining as you leave the messy hall.
“take care…!” mikasa lifts her body to see if you’d completely left the hall.
-
“fuck this, why now ugh.” you groan as you opened the door to your shared room with levi. as you enter, you could smell levi’s scent filling up the room. you breathed in, thinking how pleasant it would be if levi was here, enjoying the night with you.
levi and erwin had to stay back a little longer to inform the results of the expedition to the military police since they succeeded in the mission on the expedition. he gave you goodbye kisses a few hours ago, but it felt like weeks. not having him by your side right after the expedition was new, something you didn’t want or to happen.
you took your jacket off along with your belts and harnesses, getting ready to get all cleaned and go to sleep and to see levi on the next morning beside you on the bed. you felt even more empty and gloomy when the darkness in the room held you, although there were only a few candles lighten up.
why are the candles on fire?
you were too drunk to think about that. all you were thinking right now was to get cleaned and think about levi before going to sleep.
“i miss him” you whisper to yourself, seeing levi’s jacket on the hanger. as you were taking off your belt, you felt someone was behind you. before you even had a chance to look back to check who it was, they snaked their hands around your neck, lightly clenching to it.
“...you do?” a husky voice rings into your ear.
“levi?” you turn back, seeing your boyfriend standing in front of you. you took his hand away and held it with your hands, you glanced at his figure, his raven hair was all messed up and some of his buttons opened exposing his chest and collarbone.
why is he here? how is he here?
“what are you doing here?” you questioned, although you were happy to see him, you were also worried. thinking if something had happened to erwin.
“nothing, the military police canceled on us in last minutes. those fuckers” levi murmurs, looking down at you, he glances at your appearance and clicks his tongue when he saw your messy hair, redden cheeks, eyes weak at the knees, and your legs having trouble standing up straight.
“oh i see, just wait i have to get cleaned up” as you were about to leave, levi takes your wrist and pulls you back.
“...did you drink?” levi asks
“wh-what? no-” you awkwardly doge his question but it was no use. you knew how good his detection was. after all, he is a vampire. levi suddenly brought his face close to yours and starts to sniff at your nose, he then bows down to your face and your neck.
“really?” levi demands
“oh come on, what do you expect? the expedition was done and my friends are all in one piece” you whine at your stoic boyfriend who was still sniffling your upper body.
“levi?” levi stopped sniffling when his nose reached your hip level. after few seconds, a smirk grew on his face. he lifts his head up and outlines your chin with his digits.
“what a nice surprise [name]” levi hums, bringing his large hand around your neck once more.
“l-levi!” you stumble as you felt his grip was getting tighter, he smiles at you, revealing his shiny sharp fangs on display, making you gulp at the look, he was hot.
“glad those fuckers canceled on us” he licks his lip
“l-levi! let me go, i have things to do” you tried to pull him off but he cages you with his arm, his palm leaning over the cabinet behind you.
“i can help you with it” levi hums again, pushing his face close to yours. so close that he could feel your shaky breath underneath.
without a warning, he pulls you by your shoulder and slams you on the wall, you yelp in the pain but levi doesn’t give a shit. his hands made their way to your belt, unbuckling it and shoves inside your panties. you felt uncomfortable when you could feel the damp on your panties getting cold. levi swirls his finger inside your panties, collecting your blood, and takes it out. without hesitation, he licks his finger. you gasp when you saw his tongue was swirling around his finger and licks his finger clean.
“levi!” you try to get push him but he pulls you again, but this time he throws you on the bed shamelessly as he starts to stroll over to the bed. you tried to get up though levi traps you under his figure in seconds. he is fast.
“gonna treat this bloody pussy so good” he coos into your ear, looking at your opened jeans, revealing your white lingerie covered in red blood.
“levi we talked about this” you pulled his head away from your face
“i dont care” he charges. and oh, he was serious about it. you knew when he ripped your pants and panties off with a single grip while kissing you roughly, and he throws them brazenly on the floor.
“levi!” you were shocked at the unexpected kiss and getting half naked within seconds
“shhh” he coos while laying his long digit on your lips. you could smell the metallic blood around his finger. you glance down at your cunt, it’s completely covered in blood and the bed cover is starting to get soaked with it.
“look at you, giving so much to me” he licks his lips once again, to show how much he is hungering for you. at this point, you didn’t know if you wanted him to stop or to take it more. before you could answer his question, he inserts his long digits inside your wet cunt. soaked in your wetness and blood, he takes it slow at first but starts to take it roughly every second whenever he sniffled your bloody cunt.
he doesn’t kiss you, doesn’t even lay his finger elsewhere except for your dripping cunt. he just watches you suffering and pretty moans leaving your lips. levi just loves when you lose control over his touches and he could look at you like this all day and night every day.
“l-levi! slow down-” you choke on air, as you feel your wall clench around him, you were about to feel your body losing control just before he stops and pulls out his finger, covered in blood and your sweet juices
“not too fast… right?” he peers at his bloody finger, turning his finger up and down to admire it. he sniffs it and stuck his finger ever so delightfully.
“levi…” as you were about to speak up, levi shushes you with a deep kiss. you could sort of taste your blood around his tongue. god, his tongue is soft and moves so fluently inside your mouth.
he pulls him away from you, making you notice something. something bad, real bad. you stare into his eyes. his eyes flicker in vermilion, his eyes were deep, it felt like you were drowning yourself into a glass of red wine.
“look what you have done to me…” levi growls. he gives you a deep kiss before trailing his head down to your breathless chest, chanting stomach, then to your cunt. he hums at the aspect of your cunt.
your pussy was his favorite thing in his life before blood, he would treat them fucking good every night. so when he sees both? oh god, he is going to lose his mind and control. he starts to kitty lick your bloody cunt, tasting the metallic taste around his tongue
“fucking good, you’re mine” he licks it one more time, making you let out small moans from your lips. you cover your face in embarrassment, you even tried to close your legs but it was no use since levi was pressuring your legs to open wide with his head and hands.
“...wanna taste you more [name], so beautiful, delicious little baby” he starts to eat your pussy out passionately. his jaw opening wide and closing in fluent motions. he would change his pace every second. you begged him, you begged him to stop but he just couldn’t. his eyes started to roll back to see stars at the smell and taste of you.
you chant his name as he makes you feel sensations that you have never felt before. sure he fucked you sometimes when you were on your period but this was different. was it because you two were craving for each other for days? both of you didn’t really care, all you guys were adjusting was on to please each other.
your eyes rolling back, spit drooling from corners of your lips as his tongue fucks you in and out relentlessly. levi is also losing his mind, he wanted to stop and start to fuck you but he just couldn’t. his tongue didn’t know how to stop, this was the moment when he thought he is letting himself get completely lost in your bloody cunt.
“l-levi!” you repeat his name and levi loves it. your voice sounded so melodic to him.
“come on, give it to me, cum on my tongue, fuck!” he rasps into you. his breath hitching as he feels your walls clenching around his tongue. he brings both hands on your hips and waist, gently massaging them to lose your mind completely off guard. you have never felt such a consciousness like this one ever before.
the hot sensation on your sensitive bud from his licks is making you see stars, filling with pleasure as your climax begins to build up through your core. your loud moans filling up the room and ringing around his ears, making him go faster and faster, chasing your pleasure with you.
“just like that, give it all to me. all” levi groans. his thumbs massaging and drawing circles on your waist and hips as he fucks the hell out of you with his tongue. your eyes start to roll back even more.
you loudly moan out his name when you reached your climax. you felt your body was falling off a cliff into a pile of tingling ecstasy. levi took this chance to savor you up even more, he wrapped his hands around your thighs and trapped himself between in it.
you wrapped your shaky legs around levi’s neck and shoulders as his tongue still kept going with the motion. “p-please levi, i-i’m going to l-lose it!” you scream even louder. losing complete control over yourself as it tenses, your jaw-dropping at the arousal you were exploring.
your body convulsed as the pleasure overwhelms you, as your wetness and blood gush out onto his face below you, he enjoys every second of it. both your sweet juices and your blood covering up his face and tongue. he starts to slurp it, actually, he was drinking it.
“so good” levi lifts his head up, you were shocked at the glimpse of him. his chest and neck were covered with red splatters of your cum. levi brings his thumb over to his mouth and wipes it while looking at you, you looked so hot right now with sweat drooling your neck, your skin glittering under the warm candlelight around the room and blood covering up your inner thighs. he licks his thumb for the last time, taking it out with a ‘pop’ sound.
“levi…” you shamefully brush his hair
“you’re mine. i love you so much” levi buries his face into your breast as he starts to unbutton your shirt.
“i know, i know, but… you need to stop doing that” you let out a loud sigh, making levi peer up at you,
“why? i like it” levi moves his head from your breasts
“but it’s-”
“shhh i love every bit of you, wanna taste every part of you” levi shooshes again with a deep kiss, you wrap your small hand around his undercut and his neck as you two share a passionate kiss. so glad that you two could get home alive.
For fanfic meme can I ask E P Q M
Hi anon, thanks so much for the ask, I hope you’re doing well :)
E: If you wrote a sequel to we all bleed red, what would it be about?
This would be an AU of my AU xD but probably Stray & Levi being in the roaring 20s in New York! I can imagine them investigating something and coming across vampire gangs…
M: Got any premises on the back burner that you’d care to share?
Yes!!! Here’s the summary of my upcoming Levi x Reader one-shot, midnight ventures:
You shouldn’t have looked and he shouldn’t have been there. But Fate can have a funny sense of humor. The punchline that night? Stumbling onto your naked Captain in a hot spring… and doing something about it.
(hehe 🤭)
P: Are you what George R. R. Martin would call an “architect” or a “gardener”?
A total gardener - which is not always ideal for long fics.
Q: Do you have any discarded scenes/storylines/projects?
Oh, um… *stares at graveyard of WIPs*, yeah you could say that.
Thanks again for stopping by!
[on temporary hiatus until i pass and get my professional license this 2024, wish me luck please 😔]
Tumblr media
hello! i'm thera, a fanfiction author who writes for multiple fandoms
she/her | 22 | FIL | aquarius | infj | person who needs sleep, happy hormones, and a real-life nanami kento | ko-fi | quotev | deviantart
❦ this is a list of all my previous works, what i have in my drafts, and everything I'm planning to write, which is why some works may not have links yet since they're a work in progress; if i get an idea, i'll add it right here <3
❦ i don't have a schedule so updates may be inconsistent or on n' off; i only write when i'm inspired and when i have time. also, because of university and life, i'm super busy. just so you know. :)
❦ my older works are also on quotev and deviantart, thus some links may redirect there. still thinking about making an ao3 account, though.
❦ my stories are generally SFW or just a tad suggestive with a fem!reader, but maybe in the future (when i get the guts and the talent), i'll write some actual NSFW.
❦ just message me if you want to be added to my taglists for ongoing fics!
