hi anon sorry about the delayyy thank you for the prompt!

possibly can be read as a quasi-continuation of this one!! which is sort of a part of my canon-compliant fic if that isn't love, it'll have to do, which i will finish. at some point. i'm sure.

anywayyy here you go anon, just a quick little vignette with a subtle christmas flavour:

36. …to give up control.

“Give it here.”

Gale doesn’t wait for an agreement before grabbing, trying to snatch for the stylus clamped between Bucky’s thumb and forefinger with more force than deftness.

“I got it, Buck—Buck. Hey, quit—” he twists, holding the record needle out of Gale’s reach, because if he grabs for it again he’ll probably snap it— “Cut it out. Gale. She asked me to—”

Gale makes a swipe for it again, uncaring that he’s jostling Bucky and they’re close enough to the spindly table that Marge houses her record player on for it to be dangerous. He’s earned the elbow to his stomach, roughhousing for no reason and putting the record player at risk, but it doesn’t deter him. Bucky’s got his body, at least, to put between Gale and the table while he holds the stylus up in the air to protect it as well.

“Christ, y’ can’t even let me do one thing, huh?” It’s a gripe, but a little breathless with a laugh, because the way Gale has grabbed onto his wrist and pressed their bodies flush, it’s become clear that winning control of the replacement record needle is not the only goal any more. “You’re a dirty fighter, baby.”

“You haven’t done it before. There’s a trick—”

“There’s a trick, is there? To changing the needle? Tell me ‘bout the trick, sweet cheeks.” Their hands are lowering, Gale’s fingers still wrapped around Bucky’s wrist; he’s looking up at Bucky from barely two inches down, somehow through his lashes, and that’s the closest to leering that Gale ever gets. “See, I don’t want to shirk my chores. Marge told me to change the needle and put on some tunes. Can’t have a Christmas party without any tunes.” The arm he snakes around Gale’s waist has nothing at all to do with doing what Marge has asked. “And you’ve got your own marching orders, Major. Get those garlands hung?”

“Yes, and mixed the punch. Give it here; the player’s a lemon, I’ve done it a hundred times.”

Bucky’s smile is honey glaze and dizzy as rum punch while he tugs his hand from Gale’s grip before offering the stylus on an open palm.

“A job for the man of the house,” he murmurs, ducking his head before Gale can take it and using proximity as access for stealing a kiss. Gale smiles as well, lips curving against Bucky’s as he claims the needle blind, but he doesn’t step away and get about the task; he just leans into Bucky and tilts his head, humming a little and licking into Bucky’s mouth dizzy too, and deep.

Remember when people were praising Vivziepop for a sadly accurate portrayal of sex work and its dangers and psychological damage.

Then we get Helluva where Stolas coerces Blitzo into sex which is rape and they are endgame. Lets not forget Moxxie being sexually assaulted was a joke. Nor do we forget that Raphielle is a ok with doing shippy art of a rapist and their victim yet still has a job at Spindlehorse

It’s so obvious that most of the people behind Spindle really don’t care about serious topics like abuse and assault. They see almost everything as a joke, either lusting over/shipping said abusive characters or just making jokes, my mind instantly goes to that one member revealing that Moxxie’s pose after Crimson bitch slapped him was a Dragon Ball meme, or Raphielle making a joke animatic of Val appearing in Angel’s bed and licking his face. Most of these members are just yaoi fangirls looking to get off to silly hot demon twinks and nothing else, let’s be honest. While I will admit that Lemon-critiques was right about Viv not firing Raphielle because she herself made merch of Val and Angel so could clearly care less about if someone on her team makes porn or not, it certainly is still not okay that the team overall is like this. They see downright sexual assault as “funny and quirky” and can’t decide if abuse is supposed to be funny in this world of hell or wrong.
