Just a little talk since I haven’t posted in a while I’ll get back to it soonnnn

You know something that’s real funny to me is when someone you kinda talk to but don’t really who you hang out with not much makes a joke about my sexuality. See this was right when I was coming to terms with being aroace and I have two little stories for you today. See I have come out to about hm let’s say 4-5 people about being aroace most my good friends or fine with it or just “forget” half the time but whatever. There are two people that I was not the closest with but talked to them because of an activity I do. Kinda like an acting thing you know. Well most of the people there are apart of the lgbtqai+ community. This first lady we are talking about is a very open lesbian which is great for her. But she likes to joke a lot and I find her funny butttt…. When she first found out my sexuality as aroace she simply joked “stop being afraid of sex” hm…. Interesting. Anyhow the next on is this person who is gender none conforming I’m pretty sure they said but they never said their pronouns. Also they are bisexual or pansexual but leans towards men I think? But regardless we have gotten along for a while talking here and there and bonding over hm.. not good mental health stuff. So great start already lol. We were talking about there relationship stuff and I felt awkward there and said well I’m trying to understand but I’m sorry I don’t really and this might be why .And then showed them a picture of the aroace flag . (Keep in mind we were kinda joking around even though they were getting deep into their feelings). And they then proceeded to say is that the autism flag. And I was like wtf that’s not even close to the autism flag in my head but out loud I said nooo. And then told them it was the aroace flag. They then went oh.. I thought you had a crush on me. And I was like no wtf. And then was like oh well your lucky you don’t have to worry about relationships. I was like side eyeing them for that one because bro… platonic friendships can still be a lot and also not to mention qpr’s if I ever decide I want one. So there are two of my very interesting aroace stories. And when I say interesting probably not interesting at all and no one is reading lol.

I haven't seen this circulating here on Tumblr, so I decided to make my own post.

last saturday, in Porto, there was a pride parade going down the street and this old man was standing there, by his front door, waving the portuguese flag. most people on the parade probably thought the same: old person waving the national flag? he's probably protesting against the parade, he's a nationalist of some sort.

then the old man called for that person to come near him. the whole parade stopped. everyone just.. stopped moving. they didn't know what to expect, and most expected the worst. and that person decided to give him the benefit of the doubt and approached the old man. and then... they traded flags, he hugged the person and then he waved the pride flag happily. everyone cheered him.

such a wholesome moment. 🥹❤️🌈

Shipping is fun and all but I swear every single time someone makes a comment, whether as a joke or in a legitimate analysis, about there being "no other explanation" for a pair's interactions, I lose just a bit more of my sanity

Like, no, you guys don't get it. Romance is not about the Amount of devotion, it's about the COLOR. the FLAVOR of it all. a character can be just as devoted to their platonic friend as they are to their romantic partner, and they don't love either of them more, just differently.

But because the majority of people still have it stuck in their minds that romance exists on the highest tier of love, I'm stuck seeing endless takes that boil down to "these two care about each other too much for it to NOT be romantic" as if that's the core determining factor to how literally any of this works

In conclusion: stop telling me that I don't understand the story if I don't interpret the leads as romantic, I am TIRED

The other day when I was volunteering at the library, I was shelving books when a little kid came up to me and just stared at me before asking “Are you a girl?”

Me: “uh… no, I’m not a girl.”

Kid: “are you a boy?”

Me: “Well, no, actually-“

Kid (looking at me with wide eyes): “Are you a *fairy*?!?”

Me (leaning down and speaking in a whisper): “Yes, but sshh, don’t tell anyone. It’s a secret.”

Then the kid just looked up at me with wide eyes before their face broke into a huge smile and they nodded enthusiastically.

That interaction made my entire frickin day. Also apparently I’m a fairy now.

For those who don't know, the US Supreme Court just ruled that states are allowed to enforce trans healthcare for minors. Undoubtedly, this will trigger a wave of other states that either hope to pass or have already passed policies to do the same. This is going to kill children, and harm more in long-lasting ways.

So, how can you help?

FUCKING VOTE. I don't care if you don't like Biden, he's not the only one on the ballot. Vote representatives into your city council who will turn our city into a sanctuary city. Vote for governors and state reps who will, even if they don't pass new protections, oppose bans being pushed through. Chsllenge and kick out conservative incumbents who are banking on their races being obscure enough for people to not vote in.

Anyone telling you voting is useless is either lying to you or grossly uninformed and think saying this is the edgy new take that will make them look hip and informed. Yes, the system is broken. But short of burning the whole thing to the ground (which personally I'm not a fan of as I quite enjoy having like. Roads and the FDA) what we can do is to change it for the better, by starting with the local races and working our way up.
