So I recently reached 500 followers, which is like CRAZY because I've only been posting content for a month?! The overwhelming amount of love and support I've received over the past month has made me misty-eyed on more than one occasion, ngl. Y'all have been so sweet and so wonderful and so extremely encouraging, I'm so proud to be part of this community💙! So, as a little thank-you present for everyone and as a nice end-cap for all the black male hair spam I did for Black History Month I've decided to drop a conversion collection of 21 male hairs themed around waves, fades and tapers for y'all!

all of these hairs are gameplay safe! most of them are around 500 polys, the largest ones clock in at about 5k poly at most.

hairs are too short for root/tip controls so they're only 2 channels

these are meshes! the hair is NOT painted on the sims head like BG hairs!

but on the brightside that means they don't get that shiny look painted on hairs have.

some hairs have slight clipping issues around the temples but hopefully nothing too crazy tbh.

Black history month isn’t just about celebrating the people we know, but uplifting the people whom we might not know.

This was truly a labor of love as I spent that past few weeks learning about Tina Bell’s life and the impact she and BAM BAM in general had on the Seattle grunge scene.

I would love it if you read about her story and share this with others who are passionate about music and black history, I want her to be just as much of a household name as Kurt Cobain.

I'm very much in the 'Bruce is not Duke's dad' camp, but mostly because I think Duke doesn't see Bruce that way; I actually think Bruce would be more than willing to adopt Duke. My ideal dynamic is Duke being lukewarm to slightly positive on Bruce, and Bruce being absolutely obsessed with Duke.

Duke (on Bruce):

"Can't keep waiting for Batman to swoop down and save the day." (We Are Robin #1)

"I'm fine on my own. As Duke, as Robin. I don't think Robin needs a Batman." (Batman: Rebirth)

Duke starts pretty disillusioned with Bruce, but grows to like and care about him as a friend/mentor. However, he always treats Bruce as fallible, keeping that initial skepticism in Bruce's effectiveness.

Bruce (on Duke):

"You're a good ally." (All-Star Batman #3).

This man has been obsessed with Duke from the start, and it only grows stronger as time goes on. He both idolises and symbolises Duke as representative of Gotham and hope, and Duke's insistence on independence only makes Bruce like him more.

And it makes so much sense in light of Bruce gifting him a suit with bat ears and a bat symbol, encouraging him to adopt the name 'Signal', offering him a place to stay; everything he's ever done for Duke is very much 'I need this kid to be in my manor and be as closely associated with me as possible.'

So does Duke want Bruce to be his dad? Not really. Does Bruce want to be Duke's dad? Almost certainly yes.

Ko-Fi requeest for T! day 50!

(they gave me a couple ideas for the prompt too, one of them being a poetry read! i thought it might be cute if instead of snapping they did like. soft little howls)

The second part was extra as a v fun exercise! I think werewolves in general would have a lot of diversity in style and shifted/half-shifted forms so this gave me an excuse to play around with that :) thought I should include a werehyena bc that's the wolf substitute for the shape-shifters of African folklore (and *jaguars in south america, tigers in India, etc!)

Also in doing a little bit of research for Black werewolf characters I found this super cool werewolf comic I wanted to highlight by Michelin Hess, a Black author/artist! She has other work that you should check out too. In fact, feel free to shout out any of your favorite Black artists in the comments or tags! Again, chronically online behavior. I’m saying this because I think you deserve compassion. You need help and I say that with love. How do you get “happy tap dancing negro” from being told “hey, accusing people of emerging from the womb unsalvageably racist is bad”? How do you hear racists telling you “we don’t like black people and think they’re mean and aggressive” and think the appropriate response to that is to say, “well, to show you not to think that, I’m going to be mean and aggressive harder”? If she didn’t really do it, then that’s a problem to address if she resurfaces, but to my knowledge she hasn’t done that. Until she does, none of us have any clue what’s going on on the other end of the screen and that attitude of caution should be carried into any interaction with someone online. What matters right now is that no matter what she ended up doing you still put that intent out into the world and you were proud of it. I don’t think there’s any part of you that thinks that’s really a good thing, I think you most likely are a good person who’s deeply hurt, and you have every right to be. That doesn’t give you the right to determine the value of a stranger’s life. Please give yourself a moment to breathe and think. boycott love from disloyal order of water buffaloes is a personal favorite of mine. its a lyric i really really want tattooed at some point. that's not the only lyric i latch onto from an aro perspective but it's probably the biggest one

basically the entirety of it's hard to say "i do" when i don't but a special mention goes to you are appealing to emotions that i simply do not have as well as the only ring i want buried with me are the ones around my eyes

it's true romance is dead / i shot it in the chest and in the head from the music or the misery is also a favorite of mine, also just that whole song in general

i thought i loved you but it was just how you looked in the light in hum hallelujah resonates with a lot of queer folks i've found, and it's no different for me

same goes for it's a strange way of saying that i know i'm supposed to love you from g.i.n.a.s.f.s.

golden is a big one for queer folks in general i've found. the chorus especially hits hard from an aro and/or ace reading. and i saw god cry in the reflection of my enemies / and all the lovers with no time for me

i've got a dark alley and a bad idea that says you should shut your mouth is a heavy song no matter how you slice it. but that chorus gets to me in particular: we can fake it for the airwaves / force our smiles, baby, half-dead / from comparing myself to everyone else around me

the kids aren't alright reads to me as one big anthem for platonic love above anything romantic, which resonates super hard with me. the second verse has a lot of good lines that i latch onto from an aroace lens too. your love is anemic and i can't believe / that you couldn't see it coming from me

pretty much the whole chorus of HOLD ME TIGHT OR DON'T does it for me, and those verses have got some good aroallo vibes too! i never really feel a thing... confidants but never friends...

the whole of fake out is a gimme. that chorus rings real true. starts with love is in the air, i just gotta find a window to break out and finishing with but it was all a fake-out

i've got all this ringing in my ears and none on my fingers is one that has another highly applicable title but the whole refrain of the truth hurts worse / than anything i could bring myself to do to you paired with the one-two punch of that second verse REALLY gets under my skin

and of course, the culminating one: you are what you love, not who loves you from save rock and roll. obviously there are a LOT of ways to read that line

there are a couple other songs i latch onto - wilson (expensive mistakes); a little less "sixteen candles", a little more "touch me"; the (after) life of the party to name a few - but the ones listed above are the big lyrics that resonate with me on a personal level
