Bitcoin ETF Trading Surges, Reaching 40% of Centralized Exchange Volumes
The recent surge in Bitcoin's spot ETF trading volume, reaching an impressive 40% of centralized exchange levels, signifies a remarkable step forward in the integration of traditional finance with the crypto market. On-chain analyst Ki Young Ju's revelation sheds light on the increasing engagement of institutional investors through ETFs, underscoring growing confidence in Bitcoin as both a store of value and an investment asset.
In parallel, analyst Ali provides valuable insights into Bitcoin's short-term price action, utilizing the TD Sequential indicator on the 10-minute chart. Ali's analysis identifies key support and resistance levels, with the support trendline positioned at $51,700 and the resistance trendline at $52,515. These levels serve as critical indicators, guiding investors and traders in assessing Bitcoin's immediate price movements.
The interplay between these support and resistance levels becomes crucial in influencing market sentiment and trader behavior. A sustained close above or below this range holds the potential to signal the next major move for Bitcoin. This delicate balance reflects the short-term dynamics of the market, requiring astute attention to technical indicators for informed decision-making.
Bitcoin is currently trading at $51,948, showing a slight decline of 0.87% in the last 24 hours. However, over the past week, Bitcoin has surged by 3.87%, with an impressive $21.7 billion in 24-hour trading volume. This resilience in the face of short-term fluctuations demonstrates the robust activity and liquidity within the crypto market.
As investors navigate through a period of volatility and uncertainty, the importance of technical analysis comes to the forefront. Insights from analysts like Ki Young Ju and Ali offer valuable perspectives, providing a nuanced understanding of market movements. The surge in Bitcoin ETF spot trading volume signals a broader trend of increasing institutional participation, shaping Bitcoin's trajectory in the evolving landscape of the crypto market.

Under the Queen's Umbrella
Tumblr media
This is a beautiful series. I smiled, laughed and cried. This is the story of a mother who loves her children and will fight to the teeth to protect them. As a mother myself, I could understand her feelings and her actions. Queen Im Hwa Ryeong is an intelligent woman, street smart, and she has learned to play the politics game to protect her five sons. He eldest, the Crown Prince and his own wife, little boy and his youngest on the way are her pride and joy. He is the model child everyone would want to have. She worries about his health.
When the king decides to look for a substitute for the Crown Prince's assistant, the Queen will have to prepare her other four carefree sons so they can show they are just as worthy as their other half-brothers. But as she tries to do so without alarming them, she runs around inside and outside the palace looking for them.
Her second son, Grand Prince Seong Nam, was taken away from her when he was born. She was able to bring him home after years of living outside like a commoner. He feels like an outsider inside the palace and likes to train outside, but he loves his brothers, and cherishes his relationship with his older brother.
Grand Prince Muan is a young man in love with a woman of low birth. His mother is constantly getting him out of her home and bring him back to the palace.
Grand Prince Kye Seong is a quiet young man who brings peace to his mother but carries a secret that could kill him.
Grand Prince Il Young is in his early teens and too young to care about politics.
As the political intrigues unravel, we see her relationship with her sons strengthen. This a woman who will protect, not only her children, but the king's other sons. . . She is strong and flexible, accepting and a problem solver.
I liked her relationship with her sons. How she interacts with each and gives them the support they need while also giving them wings. I also like her relationship with the King. Out of all his wives, the audience can see a special bond between them. He values her opinion and respects her. She respects him, although there are things she will always keep away from him in order to protect her sons. She is indeed her son's secret keeper and their support.
I really love what the title symbolizes. The umbrella she puts over her boys' heads when it rains and what it all means.
I truly love this story!

‘Aloners’ Review: Plugged In but Shut Off
The director Hong Sung-eun’s debut feature is a quietly tragic tale of alienation and the ennui of modern life.
By Brandon Yu June 8, 2023
Jina (Gong Seung-yeon), the reclusive figure at the center of “Aloners,” is lonely but never alone. Or perhaps it’s the other way around. She isolates herself at every point of her day — when she eats, when she works, when she smokes — turning to screens for companionship. She is always on her phone, scrolling even while talking to customers at the call center where she works. At night, she falls asleep with the TV on.
Yet it’s clear in the director Hong Sung-eun’s quietly tragic tale of alienation, Jina is really just numb. Her mother has recently died, and she is estranged from her father. But at the call center, an eager new hire (Jung Da-eun) begins to push up against Jina’s walled-off existence.
Hong’s greatest strength is restraint. At every moment in which she could turn the film into an easier, feel-good story about a woman being taught how to wake up to life, she pulls back. Life is not so simple, and healing is hard. As much as “Aloners” is about grief, it’s also a portrait of the ennui of modern life, how easily people can shut themselves off and fall into the void — and how mundane that withering away looks. Yet you can spot, in the superb, subtle performances from Gong and Jung, the pain and desperation under the surface. The only way out is if Jina might see the same in someone else and reach out.
Aloners Not rated. In Korean, with subtitles. Running time: 1 hour 31 minutes. Available to rent or buy on most major platforms. NYT Critic's Pick Director: Hong Seong-eun Writer: Hong Seong-eun Stars: Jeong Da-eun, Seo Hyun-woo, Jeong-hak Park, Gong Seung-Yeon Running Time: 1h 31m Genre: Drama

Karakterlerin her biri Tim Burton'a el sallayarak sahneye çıkıyorlardı.

Can i request a reading of enhypen’s ni-ki off cam personality? And his views when it comes to relationships (platonic and romantic)?
i will be doing the second question in another post, maybe even in a collective one for the full group 🤭 enjoy the read
niki's real personality behind the scenes
based on tarot. i do not know these idols personally. energies are always changing. what i say is NOT straight fact. pls take it with a grain of salt!
Tumblr media
3ow&su, 9osw&5op, 10op, pagosw, 7op&to bod: 4osw + off cam, niki is someone pretty open-minded. i'm getting this huge desire to expand his views and beliefs, big interest in experiencing things that are very foreign and new to him. he definitely loves a challenge and feels his best when he can just go somewhere else, whether that's physically or mentally. does he enjoy travelling in his free time? if he doesn't do it, he definitely wants to. he likes getting his mind off life sometimes, and just exploring different cultures, or even hearing stories about people's lives completely different to him. he finds it very interesting and intriguing.
one thing that's a constant for niki, is this boy lives to work. it's interesting, because despite this being a reading on him off cam, even behind the scenes i can see work occupying most of his mind. he's been exposed to the industry since he was so young, it's pretty much all he's known till now, so it's almost like the easiest thing in the world for him to remain career-focused. it's when he feels he's at his best, and most comfortable. in contrast, when not working is when he can quickly get into a more tense headspace and start overthinking. he's the type who needs to stay busy, in order to distract himself from his own thoughts, since he can be a huge overthinker, especially in regards to himself. i can just see him obsessing over doing everything perfectly, and himself being his own biggest critic. (is this boy an earth rising? he kinda looks like one too) but he has extremely professional and surprisingly mature energy in regards to his career. honestly blew my mind to remember he just turned 18 and could teach some older idols a few things concerning their attitude at work.
niki is also a person who is much more observant than we realize. he's someone with a quick wit and clever mind, a person who basically lives in his head. very very smart boy, much more intelligent and insightful than some people think. there is this self-aware and self-reflective quality to him, where he can quickly pick up on his mistakes, and is always open to changing. literally, he doesn't mind completely tearing down some habits, if that means he'll improve. he's always looking to reach his best potential, and is firm in his mentality.
to give you an example, he definitely had and sometimes still has the habit of being very sharp-tongued. sometimes he just says things that can easily hurt people, and this is something he's very aware of. he doesn't just brush it off like "whatever, guess that's what i'm like" no, he will definitely reflect on his behavior once he gets some time to think and put in effort to improve. especially because he himself is much more easily hurt than others think, even he himself doesn't always seem to acknowledge his more sensitive side. so there is this subconscious thought of "i can't be like this."
in general though, niki is just very chill and laidback. he truly doesn't like drama, doesn't enjoy conflicts, just wants to stay low-key and do what he has to do. i can see his hyungs fighting like cats and dogs while he's sitting there on his phone completely unfazed by what's going on. he doesn't enjoy being consumed by negative energy, since this can get his emotions to bubble up and truly mess him up sometimes, so he keeps himself out of situations as much as he can. could definitely seem kinda self-absorbed to some people, but he's just very protective of his own energy.
whe&3oc, sta, pagow, 7oc, pagoc, 4osw&acop, bod: 9op
- he just lives in his own little world and bubble, to an excessive extent. pretty selective about who he calls his friends, and truly doesn't seem to be very invested or even interested in putting effort into maintaining friendships. is he the member who just never answers on katalk and doesn't really react in the enha groupchat lol, like a ghost? that's the vibe he's giving. unbothered about others, puts more thought into matters about himself and his own life. if it doesn't concern him, he doesn't truly care. i see this pattern a lot for people who are incredibly absorbent to others' feelings and energy, often for significant pisces placements (esp ☾) they're so easily consumed by that, it's a self-protective mechanism in order to shield themselves from any sort of hurt.
niki still struggles to truly acknowledge and appreciate his more softer and emotional side. that's when he feels more awkward and insecure, it's a part of himself he's not comfortable with. he doesn't enjoy getting emotional, since he fears the loss of control over himself, he gets worried about just saying or doing things out of pure emotion and messing things up not only for himself, but others too. i keep getting this feeling of him really hating to hurt people, he feels guilt pretty quickly. and in his eyes it often happens whenever his emotions take over him, like he just isn't himself. so, he prefers to not even put himself into situations where this is a possibility, and just runs away from his feelings, as well as people who can bring that emotional side out in him. i can see he can probably get more emotionally attached than he'd want to, and that can scare him off. he doesn't like people thinking he's dependant on them.
there definitely is an arrogant quality to the way he carries himself off cam. he gives off this vibe of knowing how good he is, and people can quickly perceive that as being conceited and full of himself, especially if they feel threatened by that confidence. however, much of that is just fierce self awareness. he holds himself up to insanely high standards, and can feel overwhelmingly insecure if he doesn't meet them.
if you aren't of any use to him, it's unlikely niki will entertain your attendance for very long. as previously said, he carefully selects who he gives his time and energy to, and much of this is based on what that certain connection can do for him. he's just very self-centered, which can easily make people feel like he doesn't give a damn about anyone, and sometimes even hurt or disappointment them. he seems to have this mentality of "we all live and die alone anyway" so he'd prefer to nurture and take care of his own self rather than putting much effort into others. he goes through life thinking we all have to be more selfish in order to succeed. "no one is going to live life for me, so i might as well do it for myself." is what i hear.

MASTERLIST
Tumblr media
your body laid curled up in your blankets, and tangled in your layered clothing. it was colder weather and to everyone else doing this would be pretty standard practice given the circumstances.
regardless of that fact, your main reason to bundle up was not due to the cold.
you were always cold, that was something you could put up with.
what you couldn’t put up with was the sly comments people would make about you unprovoked. even if provoked the comments that were made about you previously were extremely messed up and damaging.
you felt yourself sigh, you knew it was okay to be sensitive to this, it was human. but it really did hurt, there was no reason for anyone to comment on anyone’s body for ANY reason. however people thought they could with you. your friends thought they could with you.
you flipped over not hearing your boyfriend arrive at your home, he was supposed to come over today but you had texted him to cancel because you ‘weren’t feeling well.’ anymore. you didn’t think he would be coming over.
“you cold my love?” you heard a chuckle and you just hummed back. not in the mood for his games. and not in the mood to even become startled that he was in your home.
“i’m sorry were you asleep?” riki’s voice was soft as he walked over to the couch and laid down next to you. your body tensed up and he noticed this.
it made him scared he did something wrong.
“are you okay?” he asked, wanting to put his hand on your head and gently pat. but opting not to, not wanting to make you more uncomfortable than what he was reading from your face.
“i texted you saying i wasn’t feeling well…” you mumbled behind your blanket.
riki frowned, “i’m sorry… do you want or need anything? i didn’t see my texts otherwise i would’ve stopped by and picked you up something warm to drink.” you felt him get under the blanket, you felt yourself become nervous.
quickly you flipped over, your back facing him and you curled up a bit. taking some of the blanket with you.
he went to snake his hands around your waist as he was used to do but you panicked and moved his hands away, “don’t, please…”
the comments about you being too thin were getting to you and you didn’t want riki to even touch your body. the fear setting in that he was going to feel a rough edge or a part of your body where you were more bony than not. you were scared it was going to disgust him or freak him out. your friends were hard to believe that your boyfriend genuinely liked holding you. you could still hear their comments.
riki felt his mouth open a bit in shock, “did i do something?”
this hurt you more, he didn’t do anything, you felt like you did something wrong.
“no… i just- i don’t feel well.” your voice was wavering and it was making you stressed, if you even thought to rub your eyes you’d have to see your hands. you didn’t want to see any part of your body right now. you felt trapped, almost like you wanted to rip your skin off and just start over.
“what’s wrong… y/n please… communication is really important especially since we’re young… i don’t want to fuck this up please…” at this point riki was begging you to say something. he was stressed that he did something to you that he didn’t mean. riki couldn’t recall anything that he did. i mean he accidentally ripped your favorite pillow while you two were play fighting last week but you were laughing when the stuffing started going everywhere.
you flipped over, not wanting to torture him, “you didn’t do anything. i just went back to visit some friends and they made comments about my body.” your voice was shaky, almost panicking. because this is where a lot of people would say-
‘you’re thin why would it matter?’
‘people wish they had your body.’
‘you should be thankful that’s what they’re saying.’
you had experience of people saying that to you when you felt insecure of the bonier parts of your body. you learned quickly to suck it up, but it still hurt. and you constantly tried to gain weight. it was a difficult battle, you want to do it healthily however it’s a slow process that’s not even promised.
you couldn’t help your body and it was too taboo to share your insecurities. that’s what you learned that’s what you became accustomed to. it stung even more that people commented on your body now even without you saying something first. you felt violated.
riki felt his brows contort, he was rightfully pissed, “what were they saying?” he tried to find your hands under the blanket and did. for the first time in awhile, they were warm. you let him hold a small part of you and that relaxed him.
“i don’t want to talk about it anymore…” you mumbled more into the blanket, scared of what he was going to say. scared that if you opened up more, he’d try to hold you. that he was going to hate holding you, or finding it a chore.
“no one should be making comments on your body like that. whatever they said- clearly it effected you… and no one has the right to comment on your body. was what they were saying unprompted?” his voice was soft but firm. wanting to listen to what happened. wanting to comfort you properly.
“yes… it was unprompted and i froze up… i didn’t know how to respond to what they were saying.”
because genuinely how the fuck were you supposed to respond?
riki breathed in angrily, he was trying to properly calculate the situation and how to answer. he didn’t want to mess up or accidentally say something that could hurt you more, “i would take a break from them for a bit… maybe if you’re comfortable communicate how-“
“NO.” you practically jumped up, “they’re just going to tell me i shouldn’t be complaining and they’re totally gonna blow me off like my feelings don’t matter!”
riki’s eyes widened as he watched you settle back down, his hand rubbing yours gently, like you’d break, “okay my love… then you don’t have to… then i would just give myself a break from them okay? i’m not trying to sound like i’m isolating you either but you know your feelings matter to me. you matter to me. i will always listen…”
you nodded, he felt his heart breaking a bit when he saw a tear fall from your face. riki quickly used one of his hands to wipe your tears. you put your face more into his palm.
“when you hold me… does it bother you?” your voice was quiet, “like do i hurt you or do you feel uncomfortable?”
what the fuck did they say to you? that was the only thing that was going through riki’s head but he was smart enough to pick out the hints and signs. that was enough for him.
your friends must’ve pointed out how thin you are, he remembered you trying to gain weight and struggling to. he remembered that specific mental breakdown you had and felt so mad that your friends would just say things without thinking.
“you never bother me…” carefully he finally pulled you closer to him and held you, “my favorite thing to do is be around you and hold you… that’s not going to change okay? no matter what.”
you nodded, “i’m sorry… i didn’t mean to shut you out i was just scared… and i didn’t want you to think i was weird for getting upset about this.”
riki shook his head no, “don’t be scared to talk to me especially about stuff like this, i understand everything okay? so please don’t be scared. i know how it feels and im always going to be here to help you.”
“thank you…” you held him closer to you, riki’s hand going to your head and patting softly. his embrace was warm and you were comfortably wrapped in the blankets together. the cold weather long forgotten, the cold, harsh words that were said to you were slowly being healed, and you were starting to feel content. riki felt you relax and finally relaxed himself. he was always going to be here to help, because he loves you. those cold words people said to you weren’t going to change anything, whether you told him the specific words or not.
he loves you.
“i love you… thank you again…” your breathing was starting to slow, you were starting to fall asleep now that the war in your head was starting to die down.
“i love you more…”

Defying Doubters: CryptoQuant CEO Envisions Bitcoin Surpassing $112,000
Bitcoin's trajectory towards new all-time highs is a topic of discussion as Ki Young Ju, CEO of CryptoQuant, advocates for the transformative impact of Bitcoin spot Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs). Dismissing the perception of ETFs as mere "paper" investments, Ju anticipates their role in potentially propelling Bitcoin's price to $112,000, presenting a bullish outlook amid current market dynamics.
Ju's analysis offers two scenarios for Bitcoin's future value: an optimistic peak at $112,000 and a more conservative estimate of $55,000. Based on Bitcoin's current price of $47,100, these projections illustrate a potential range with a ceiling of $89,500 and a floor of $17,200.
Crucial to Ju's optimism is the expected monthly spot ETF inflows of $9.5 billion, projected to significantly boost Bitcoin's realized capitalization by an impressive $114 billion annually. Despite potential outflows from the Grayscale Bitcoin Trust (GBTC), Ju remains confident in Bitcoin's growth, foreseeing a substantial increase in realized capitalization.
Ju's analysis emphasizes BlackRock's substantial holdings, with nearly 50,000 BTC valued at over $3.19 billion through its ETF. Historical data on specific MVRV ratios lends credibility to his predictions, pointing to historical market bottoms and tops.
The recent approval and launch of the United States' first spot Bitcoin ETFs signify a transformative phase, attracting substantial institutional capital. Notable players like BlackRock, Fidelity, and Ark 21Shares have experienced significant inflows post-SEC approval, indicating a positive shift in investor sentiment.
As the cryptocurrency community awaits the Bitcoin block reward halving in April, experts anticipate significant market movements. Figures like Adam Back suggest the potential for Bitcoin to reach new all-time highs, possibly exceeding $100,000, further adding to the excitement and anticipation in the crypto space.

BEYOND EVIL TIMELINE
for writers, rewatchers and curious people
It’s hard to keep track of the dates in Beyond Evil with all the plot twists, reveals, intentional omission of information and the narrative jumping back and forth. Having to go through the entire drama to figure out its timeline can be a pain. So I put it together in one post.
note: some info is taken from script book 3 translated by yeoyuo on twitter. however if dates found in the book are weird/questionable, i won't include them and if they happen to contradict confirmed dates in the actual drama, i will prioritize drama dates
Order:

if there's no confirmed date/month then there'll be ? instead of a number

alright i finally finished the uncanny counter 2 and…
hmm
my thots and spoilers below
THIS IS ALL MY OPINION AND IM BLABBING AND IT IS YAP TIME
it’s 1am so i’m a lil coocoo
once again all MY OPINION if anyone sees this
honestly speaking this season was alright. it def did not compare to season one, which i was expecting. yet it wasn’t up to par with it either. it felt like too much and not enough at the same time so it kinda fell flat to me
in season one everything was connected and there were very clear motives. from the bullying, so mun’s parents, the evil spirits, ji chung shin himself, and the corrupt government. and chung shin’s backstory made me feel for him which is what made him a great antagonist imo. like i loved him
but hwang pil gwang (slick back), gelly (hongjoong variant LMFAOO), and wong (just wong tbh)….mmph
i can’t really remember the beginning it took me 2 months to finish it but, dude and his crew showed up outta nowhere and just started creating chaos for funsies???? now don’t get me wrong, i’m all for villainy for fun but i just couldn’t get into for some reason with them. it just feels like their characters weren’t fleshed out enough for me to actually like them no matter how fine they are bc the whole crew could get it
and then we move to ma ju seok my adoring and loving husband. now this was something i could get behind. him going on a rampage trying to get revenge for his wife and baby, having enough rage to summon an evil spirit on his own??? like that’s what i’m talking about!!! i felt for him and wanted him to succeed bc that con man was also annoying as shit. i really and truly wanted him dead bc he was the absolute worst jfc
if the story only focused on him, and getting his revenge and having to take him down. and only him. seeing how far his rage could take him and what would happen ON HIS OWN without any outside manipulation pil hwang *coughs* would have been a lil more interesting to me and i think i would have enjoyed it more. ik pil gwang wanted his power n shit BUT WHY. like give me a reason.
TO ME hwang pil gwang and his crew added absolutely nothing to this for me. and gelly betraying slick back and all that other stuff just felt unnecessary to me. gelly not being able to do anything and literally almost every single time the crew showed up, and bc pil gwang wouldn’t help her. GIRLY STAND UP AND HAVE SOME RESPECT YOU ARE A BADASS TF YOU DOIN???? GET OFF YA KNEES
AND ms chu’s newest child lim jae yeol….why was he there??? and be honest. what did he do for the plot other than give ms chu another child and show her backstory
and then do hwi, lawd my sweet piano man. WE WENT THROUGH ALL THAT JUST FOR HIM TO FORGET HA NA IN THE END I WAS SO PISSED bc once again. what tf did he add. i feel like he could have been good to ha na, genuinely. imagine getting dumped by ya not girlfriend after y’all done hung out together and have each other hiccup remedies, and then getting attacked by someone who finna rap they verse in bouncy i am so dead
i understand they were trying to idk, give their characters more depth but pls
mo tak punching so mun was NAWT on my 2023 kdrama bingo card. and he didn’t even apologize for it!!!! i understand he was angry and upset bc he thought lost his partner and so mun was doing a bit too much but i just feel like that was outta character for him to do…. and for him to not apologize for it was just, what???
and don’t get me started on jeok beong. i was um, expecting a lil bit more. yoo in soo is a FANTASTIC actor. if you told me he was gwi nam from aouad before hand i would have passed out. THAT MF RANGE IS INSANE!! but, but, jeok bong could have been more. i love him to death but he stayed the same person the entire time. granted towards the end he did start meshing with the group a bit better and throwing ideas out and stuff but i dunno bruh. i was feeling him and not feeling him at the same time.
the same goes for kang ki young. baby if you say that was myung seok from attorney woo i would have passed out pt2. like he did his thang bc i deadass hated his character even tho he was looking good as hell
the lack of so mun’s friends also bummed me out bc i really like them and they are an important part of his life. wanted to see more of those three together as well. my found family was not found with them this season
but the counters dynamic was still a++ like that’s real family. teasing ha na and do hwi, ha na having to save so mun while he was in a coma, then going to yung to ask why so mun leaving, jeok bong calling mun his brother just *wipes tear* magnificent
and why tf did mun have to lose his powers again. we did that shit in season one there was no need for that tbh
nothing to say about ms chu god bless.
nothing to say about jang mool god bless.
mun going over seas and seeing wi gen’s daughter like ENOUGH.
just…. too much, and yet not enough at the same time.
but i still very much enjoyed 8.5/10 BAYBEE

Categorizing Parent-related Trauma for male and female leads in Kdramas:
Orphans: Lee Hong-jo (Destined With You) Moon Gang-tae (It's Okay to Not be Okay) Moon Sang-tae (It's Okay to Not be Okay) Ha-ru (Extraordinary You) Naksu/Cho Yeong (Alchemy of Souls) Tak Dong-kyung (Doom at Your Service) Nam Ji-ah* (Tale of the Nine Tailed) Cheon Sa-Rang (King the Land) Jang Man-wol (Hotel del Luna) Yoon Yi-seo (100 Days My Price) Kang Young-hwa (Moon in the Day) Kim Do-ha (Moon in the Day) So Mun (The Uncanny Counter) Do Ha-na (The Uncanny Counter) Kang Tae-moo (Business Proposal) Kang Tae-ha (The Story of Park's Marriage Contract, present version) Lee Heon (The Forbidden Marriage) Do Do-hee (My Demon) Ji Eun-tak (Guardian: The Great and Lonely God) Na Bong-seon (Oh My Ghost) Kang Cheol (W: Two Worlds) Do Da-hae (The Atypical Family) Yeom Hae-sang (Revenant) Jeong Ji-an (A Shop for Killers) Shin Jae-rim (Dreaming of a Freaking Fairytale) Kim Ji-uk**** (No Gain No Love)
Half Orphans with loving remaining parent: Eun Dan-oh (Extraordinary You) Koo Chan-sung (Hotel del Luna) Ye So-ran (The Forbidden Marriage) Nam Ha-neul (Doctor Slump) Yu Ji-hyck (Marry My Husband) Kang Hee-soo (Captivating the King) Choi Yi-jae (Death's Game) Im Sol (Lovely Runner) Ryu Sun-jae (Lovely Runner) Lee Chang (Kingdom) Lee Geum, Prince Yeoning (Haechi) Gu San-yeong (Revenant) Son Hae-yeong (No Gain No Love)
Half Orphan + Remaining Parent is THE WORST: Jang Uk (Alchemy of Souls) Kim Do-ha (My Lovely Liar) Lee Yul (100 Days My Price) Ahn Min-hyuk (Strong Woman Bong-Soon) Seo Mok-ha (Castaway Diva) Gong Tae-seong (Sh**ting Stars) Kang Tae-ha (The Story of Park's Marriage Contract, past version) Yi In (Captivating the King) Kang Ji-won (Marry My Husband) Kang Sun-woo (Oh My Ghost)
Parents (at least one) are THE WORST but Both Are Still Alive: Jang Shin-yu (Destined With You) Han Yi-joo (Perfect Marriage Revenge) Ko Mun-young** (It's Okay to Not be Okay) Mok Sol-hee (My Lovely Liar) Gu Won (King the Land) Crown Prince Lee Hwi/Dam-yi/Yeon-seon (The King's Affection) Do Bong-soon (Strong Woman Bong-Soon) Woo Young-woo (Extraordinary Attorney Woo)*** Jung Ji-woon (The King's Affection) Kang Bo-geol/Lee Ki-ho (Castaway Diva) Yeo Jeong-woo (Doctor Slump) Hong Hae-in (Queen of Tears) On Eun-yoo (Twinkling Watermelon) Oh Yeon-joo (W: Two Worlds) Yoon Ji-ho (Because This Is My First Life) Nam Se-hee (Because This Is My First Life) Bok Gwi-ju (The Atypical Family) Moon Cha-min (Dreaming of a Freaking Fairytale)
Immortal Being that Still Somehow has Parent Issues: Myul Mang/Doom (Doom at your Service) Lee Yeon & Lee Rang (Tale of the Nine Tailed) Jeong Gu-won (My Demon)
Added trauma flavour: Parent was murdered in front of them (**Still counts if they survived the murder Parent tried to murder them Dying from seemingly incurable disease which makes their parents/guardian sad (If your parents are alive, you must pay for it by dying yourself) Adoptive parent/stepparent is THE WORST
Somehow has normal, alive parents: Lee Jun-ho (Extraordinary Attorney Woo, Has no backstory at all. We only meet his older sister and hear nothing about his childhood.) Shin Ha-ri (Business Proposal, her family is refreshingly normal, right down to her brother being sent out to find her when she's drunk) Oh Han-byeol (Sh**ting Stars, Again, we know almost nothing about her family, only that she has twin sisters. But she doesn't appear to have childhood trauma.) Park Yeon-woo (The Story of Park's Marriage Contract, her mom being annoyed at her for something that is a crime doesn't count as bad parenting) Lee Young-joon/Sung-hyun (What's Wrong with Secretary Kim, his trauma comes from a kidnapper, his parents faced a pretty impossible situation and did their best. They clearly love their kids) Baek Hyun-woo (Queen of Tears, nothing wrong with them out of the ordinary and they are in the drama a significant amount.) Ha Eun-gyeol (Twinkling Watermelon, very loving parents and the deafness and their reliance on him is not anyone's fault)
*Counting her as an orphan even though she gets her parents back after 20 years, she spent her childhood orphaned. ***This character is tricky because I understand why her mother wanted nothing to do with her, but her trying to manipulate the dad and also saying he didn't raise her properly made me so angry. ****This character is tricky because he was explicitly raised as an orphan by his grandma, his father didn't sign his birth certificate (Korean equivalent of this), and he's registered as the child of his grandmother, not his actual mom. His grandma is dead by the beginning of the series and he is living alone without family, so I think he counts as an orphan.
Uncatagorized due to lack of clarity on parents: Soundtrack #1, Hospital Playlist, Happiness

It's Memeception in Maya Glyph form!
Young Man
Take the breadsticks
and run
I said
young man
Man door hand hook car
gun
Yeah, I like old memes.
This follows up The Tiger Poem, and The Demon Stoplight Poem. Original is by @plaid-n-converse in 2016.
-
Literal translation:
you-take-it the-tamale¹ sir-youth (and) run-you
sir-youth said-I
the-man door hand
sir-youth said-I²
the-folded.over-dart³ canoe⁴ (blow)gun⁵
-
Transliteration:
ʔa-ch'am-Ø ʔu-waj ʔu-ch'ok a‧n-eet
ʔaj-ch'ok che‧ʔ-een
ʔu-wi‧nik pa‧sil k'ab
ʔaj-ch'ok che‧ʔ-een
ʔu-pak-jul ju‧kuub pu'w
-
Character Transliteration (ALL CAPS are characters that stand for full words, lower case are syllabic):
ʔa-ch'a-CH'AM-ma ʔu-wa-WAJ ʔAJ-ch'o[ko] ʔa-ne-ta
ʔAJ-ch'o-ko che-ʔe-na
ʔu-WINIK-ki pa-si-li K'AB
ʔAJ-ch'o[ko] che-ʔe-na
ʔu-pa-ka-ju-lu ju-ku-bi pu-wa
-
Notes:
¹ 'waj' is the term for any food made with maize dough. I've seen it translated as 'tamale' by linguists, but the term seems to refer to a general category similarly to 'bread'
² To allow the translation to match YMCA meter, I added an extra 'I said, "Young man"' (only 2 of the last 6 words are a single syllable in Classical Maya)
³ 'jul' is a dart/spear/any other piercing tool (but not a needle). I felt a 'folded over/bent downwards piercing tool' fit 'hook' okay
⁴ 'jukuub' is 'canoe', and the closest analog for 'car' I could find
⁵ 'pu'w' is the term for 'blowgun', and has extended it's meaning to 'shotgun' in quite a few modern Maya languages

A3! Troupe Event: MY WORST WEDDING | Event Story Translation (6/11)
Tumblr media
Neither Japanese nor English is my first language so please forgive me if I made mistake. However, feel free to point me out, I’d love to hear your feedbacks on the translation ˶ᵔ ᵕ ᵔ˶
Translation under the cut
.・。.・゜✭・.・✫・゜・。.
Sakyo’s mother: The pudding parfait here is filling and delicious. How about you Hyodo-kun?
Juza: Thanks. Itadakimasu.
Azami: …
(Indeed, Sakyo’s mother really looks like him… She’ll look better with makeup. If I were to style her hair to go well with the wedding dress, I’d rather tie all them up into a bun…)
Sakyo’s mother: Azami-kun doesn’t like sweets that much, right?
Tumblr media
Azami: Eh? Ah, yes.
Sakyo’s mother: Since you like black candy, how about this black sugar jelly? It’s slightly sweet and easy to eat. (*)
Azami: ––Thanks. But why do you, know I like black candy…
Sakyo’s mother: Sakyo talked about that, something like “Eating black candy is essential while in the run of performances.”. He often orders this delicious black candy, so he recommended it to me.
Azami: (That guy, did he tell her that…)
Juza: …Sorry for taking your time.
Sakyo’s mother: No, thank you for inviting me. I always see Azami-kun at Autumn Troupe’s performance, and hear about you from Sakyo, but this is my first time I can properly have a talk with you so I’m really glad.
I’m Hyodo-kun’s fan, but I’m also an Autumn Troupe stan. Is it the word you use to call an Autumn Troupe’s fan? Miyako taught me this. (**)
I also received a lot of souvenirs from your father, so please let him know that I really appreciate them. (***)
Azami: Eh–– Is that it.
(I didn’t know anything at all. Dad goes easy on Sakyo for some reasons)
Sakyo’s mother: Thank you for always taking care of my son.
Azami: Ah, no–– I’m the one that should be saying that?
Juza: Ma’am too, thanks for always sending me food and supporting me.
Tumblr media
Sakyo’s mother: Don’t mind it. I’m also glad to hear from Sakyo that you enjoyed eating them. I’ll send you some delicious food next time.
So, is there something you want to talk to me about today?
Juza: It is. It’s from Azami––
Azami: Actually, Sakyo’s sister came to our dorm the other day…
Sakyo’s mother: Eh? Miyako came?
Azami: I just happened to be there listening to the story with Sakyo, but about the wedding photoshoot, why don’t you want to do it?
Sakyo’s mother: That was why Miyako came to your dorm? I’m embarrassed…
Of course I’m happy to know that child’s feelings for me but… Even if it feels like celebrating a wedding ceremony when taking a wedding photoshoot now, my embarrassment will seem to win over joy.
Most of the time I don’t know what to do, even when taking photos with the wedding dress on. I’m so embarrassed that I can’t stand just staying there.
Juza: This wedding photoshoot, is kinda similar to a wedding, then they’re gonna do stuff like vowing or like… Ki-kissing right?
Azami: Ju, Juza-san, have you ever seen it?
Tumblr media
Juza: I’ve been to my relative’s wedding before…
Azami: Really…
Sakyo’s mother: Fufu. I’m too old to do things like wearing a wedding dress and kissing after taking the oath. That’s impossible. It’s embarrassing, and I can’t do that in front of my children.
But I appreciate your concern. You came all the way here instead of that clumsy Sakyo, right?
It seems that that child also wants to be filial to me in his own ways but… He has shown me enough filial piety just by him doing his best standing on stage with such kind companions like this.
Azami: …
(If she says so, then we won’t be able to say anything. But even if it’s just a little, if she still has a longing for wearing a dress…)
(I think it’s better for both Sakyo and his mother not to regret doing nothing after all. It’s just that me butting in their story is kinda…)
Juza: …It’s true that you wanted to try on a wedding dress before, right?
Tumblr media
Sakyo’s mother: That is true. However, if I were young, I might be able to wear a dress following the momentum.
But now I really can’t imagine myself in a dress, and there is no dress that will look good on me then. For now, I don’t have the courage to wear it.
Juza: A dress that suits you…
Azami: (Shall I talk about Yuki-san’s advice then…? But is it right to impose my sympathetic feelings for my Mom on Sakyo and his mother without their permission like this, I’m not sure…)
Sakyo’s mother: You really don’t need to worry. I’m happy enough that you thought about it for me after all.
*Shifts to train*
Juza: How to say… She is such a stubborn one.
I can understand the feeling of wanting to give up ‘cause you’re inappropriate for something. I also had that feeling ‘bout the stage a long time ago.
No one told me anything, but I overthought so much on my own that I couldn’t even take a step forward. But now I know that it’d be a waste to think you can’t do such things, and to not be able to do something you really wanna do.
If you might regret doing nothing later after bottling up your feelings, I think it’s definitely better to take the plunge and give it a try.
Tumblr media
Azami: About that, I also understand…
(But I couldn’t say a word earlier… About the advice Yuki-san told me, and the cards too… I couldn’t say anything.)
*At Mankai dorm*
Azami: Director, do you have a moment?
Izumi: Azami-kun, is there something?
Azami: I’d like to try a new makeup plan, so could you lend me a hand as the practice model?
Izumi: Sure! Here, you can come in.
*Shifts to Izumi’s room*
Azami: …
Izumi: …How was it, being the lead after quite a long time?
Azami: …Everything feels different from when I played the lead in DEAD/UNDEAD. At that time I was inexperienced, so I was just trying as hard as I could, but it’s fun and also tough that I understand lots of things now.
Izumi: You’ve become more reliable. By the way, I heard that you went to meet Sakyo-san’s mother with Juza-kun today, right?
Azami: Yeah, but why do you––
Tumblr media
Izumi: To be sure, Juza-kun informed me in advance that he would meet someone outside the theater troupe today.
Azami: Is that so…
(Juza-san is amazing when it comes to things like this…)
Izumi: By any chance, did you talk about what the younger sister said the other day?
Azami: …Yes.  Sakyo himself plainly refused her, and I know it’s not something that I should stick my nose into but… I couldn’t help but remember my mother. Because she also said that she had yearned for a wedding dress back then.
Izumi: I see…
Azami: With Yuki-san’s advice, I also searched for dresses with a calm impression that might suit her age.
I met her in person today, and then ended up coming up with the makeup plan for her even though no one asked me to do it… I couldn’t say a thing in the end because I thought it might be intrusive for her, if I do say so myself.
Maybe, instead of Sakyo’s mother, I was just thinking about what my Mom couldn’t do when she was alive. But it’s just my ego being selfish.
Tumblr media
Izumi: …But I think that Sakyo-san’s mother will be happy about how Azami-kun feels too.
It’s true that everyone has things that they want to do for someone but cannot do it, right. About that, I don't think it's wrong to think of doing things for someone when you have a chance.
In order not to regret this time, let’s try our best to be more kind to someone––
In that way, if you keep conveying your compassion to person after person, you will grow as a human being, and such feelings will be reciprocated and keep being conveyed, just like a circulation.
Rather, perhaps for that reason, people will always remember their regret of things like “If I had done it back then” or “I should have done it that time”.
Even if it’s just your ego being kind to a certain someone, isn’t it able to be considered as a great love.
Azami: Love…
Tumblr media
Izumi: If there is something that Azami-kun wants to do for Sakyo-san’s mother, I think it’s alright to follow what your heart says. However, you should talk to Sakyo-san about it. Sakyo-san’s feelings also matter, right.
Azami: …But he wasn’t too interested in this either, and he told me not to do anything.
Izumi: Then why don’t you carefully ask him whether those words were spoken from the bottom of his heart or not?
Azami: …Understood.
Translator’s note:
(*) She was talking about Azami’s favorite food - kuroame (lit. black candy). Kuroame is a kind of hard black sugar candy.
(**) The word Sakyo’s mother uses is “秋組推し” (Akigumi oshi) so I translate the “oshi” part into “stan” (which is a term from Kpop).

top 10 kdrama bromances to feed your empty heart
if you scroll through my page, you can already guess number 1.
#10 - our beloved summer : choi ung and kim ji ung
Tumblr media
beautiful beautiful men choi woo shik and kim sung cheol played ung bros for life in this beautiful beautiful drama. one of the best handled love triangles ive seen. they were there for each other through thick and thin, and helped each other through sm. best. on the tenth spot because they could've expanded on it more :(
#9 - what's wrong with secretary kim? : lee young joon and park yoo sik
Tumblr media
i could never make it through the series. i left it behind on ep9/10 i think, and primarily because i physically cannot digest how emotionless park min young is. BUT, kudos to the hilarious office best bromance by the great park seo joon and kang ki young. ps - why is kang ki young the pankaj tripathi of korean dramas?
#8 - strong girl do bong soon : ahn min hyuk and in gook du
Tumblr media
can we ever forget the legendary wink? or the dream where min hyuk is dressed as a woman? i think not. this was more of a frenemy type bromance, united by their love for bong soon and ironically divided by it, too. i refuse to acknowledge this as a love triangle tho. bong soon was astronomical in not hurting gook du and i will not take any criticism. is it a bromance if one of them is pretending to be gay? (and no, we will not discuss any sort of iTs pRoBLeMaTiC debates here.)
#7 - tale of the nine tailed : lee yeon and koo shin ju
Tumblr media
don't come at me with the lee rang comments. rang was his half brother, related by blood. their relationship was top tier, but the stay at home husband yeon and working husband shin ju was too cute to not be classified as a bromance. in the beginning, i saw their relationship as shin ju serving yeon, a dynamic that they both seemed to embody. but as the show progresses, yeon baby we know you love shin ju just as much :*
#6 - alchemy of souls : jang uk and seo yul
song joon ki seems to have an attachment to bromances. han seo had the best character arc of the ENTIRE kdrama universe fight me. that court scene where vincenzo pats han seo's cheek was max bro cuteness. still not over his death. he deserved better.
#5 - vincenzo : vincenzo cassano and jang han seo
Tumblr media
even though i didn't very much like the show's first couple, bromance delivered well. hospital scene peaked, complete true beauty sameness. it was pretty hard to understand who was the superior officer in this tbh initially, since their comraderie was so cool, shi jin was kid to soldier in a split second. loved how they chose not to unnecessarily exaggerate the love triangle initially bec i was only rooting for the second couple.
#4 - descendants of the sun : yoo shi jin and seo dae young
Tumblr media
business proposal was the first kdrama i saw. i finished it in a three day trip, and i remember thinking more about the bromance than the romance. i was NOT used to the clumsiness of kdramas in general, like wattpad fics incarnated. the bromance delivered well, made me root for the second couple, and was the only initial indicator of kang tae moo being human instead of archaeopteryx. that word was a nightmare to spell.
#3 - business proposal : kang tae moo and cha sung hoon
Tumblr media
the most wolfstar bromance if I ever saw one. and NO, i do not ship wolfstar just like i do not ship these two. they are totally adorable, and specially since their personalities seemed to switch from when they were children. yeong turned all serious face and lee gon got fun. love their years of friendship sm, their wordless communication and yeong in general. the acting was amazing.
#2 - the king - eternal monarch : lee gon and jo yeong
Tumblr media
#1 - guardian - the lonely and great god : kim shin aka goblin and wang yeo aka grim reaper
Tumblr media
yes, i know I'm missing a lot of iconic ones. unfortunately, i haven't seen alot of kdramas and have left alot in bw (like true beauty bec i couldn't see second lead hurt).
spring onion slays ^
told ya, if u follow me u already knew what the first one was gonna be. being the simp i am for the goblin and grim reaper, these two achieved the max points for their bromance. that slow dynamic of goblin calling reaper's hat tacky to fighting with knives to that iconic 'saranghae' to 'HOW DARE YOU' to goblin boiling eggs with his powers while reaper chills the beer. they know each other so well. love love love them and you should too 🔪
Tumblr media
in my heart, the trio of our boys beats nothing (except for the gookdu-minhyuk relationship of the crown prince and uk). but instead of choosing the frenemy thing, i decided to love yul and uk more. yul was such a quiet character, with incredible potential in him for me to hate him, but then...(the guy is literally too sweet and beautiful and nice i can ramble for days). and uk, man, our power baby who loves every version of our beautiful but slow girl, needed so much emotional support. uk and yul were not afraid to show their affection for each other, a trait i admired in all the three boys (jang uk, seo yul and park dang gu).
