Aria walks quickly to her first-period English class, pursued by Noel Kahn.
NOEL: Hey! Finland!
ARIA: (nodding) Hey.
Noel mentions his performance at practice, but Aria remains unimpressed.
INT. ROSEWOOD DAY SCHOOL - HALLWAY - DAY (LATER)
Aria navigates the familiar halls, feeling the weight of everyone's stares.
INT. ROSEWOOD DAY SCHOOL - ENGLISH CLASSROOM - DAY
Aria encounters Hanna, who seems both familiar and changed.
HANNA: Hey, weren't you in Czechoslovakia or something?
ARIA: Yeah, close enough.
Aria sits down in the classroom, trying to collect herself.
ARIA: (chanting softly) Hell is other people.
She reminisces about her encounter with Ezra at Snookers.
ARIA: (to herself) Was it desperate to text Ezra at 2:30 A.M.?
Aria is interrupted by the teacher, Mr. Fitz, who catches her using her phone.
MR. FITZ: Excuse me. Um, you can’t use your cell in school.
Aria covers her phone, startled. Mr. Fitz turns and reveals his face, shocking Aria.
ARIA: (thoughts racing) Holy shit.
The class turns to see Mr. Fitz's reaction. Aria tries to compose herself as she reads her text message.
ARIA: (reading) Surprise! I wonder what your pig puppet will have to say about this... —A

SPENCER HASTINGS, her parents, VERONICA and PETER, wait for her sister MELISSA at a celebratory dinner.
VERONICA: (to Spencer) Honey, you’re not supposed to eat mussels with your hands. It’s not polite.
SPENCER: Sorry.
Veronica expresses concerns about Melissa living in a dusty townhouse during renovations.
INT. MOSHULU RESTAURANT - NIGHT (LATER)
Melissa arrives with her boyfriend, WREN.
MELISSA: Mom, Dad, here’s Wren.
Spencer is surprised by Wren's appearance.

Spencer steps out for a breather and encounters Wren.
WREN: You shouldn’t be smoking, you know.
SPENCER: What are you doing down here?

They decide to flash him.
MONA: Count of three?
HANNA: (excitedly) On three.
The girls flash the man, causing him to spill his wine.
EXT. KING JAMES MALL - DAY
Hanna and Mona stroll through the mall, reflecting on their friendship and past experiences.
INT. TIFFANY'S - DAY
Hanna and Mona browse through Tiffany's, eyeing a charm bracelet.
SALESWOMAN: Interested?
HANNA: (hesitant) I don’t know.
Mona tries on the bracelet, and when the saleswoman turns away, Mona pockets it.
INT. TIFFANY'S - DAY (LATER)
Hanna selects a bracelet and earrings, and Mona distracts the saleswoman while Hanna steals them.

ARIA MONTGOMERY, her parents, ELLA and BYRON, and her brother, MICHELANGELO, drive back from Philadelphia International Airport after returning from Iceland.
MICHELANGELO: (excitedly) Omigod, trees. I’m so happy to see big fat trees.
Aria groans as Michelangelo marvels at the scenery.
ARIA’S VOICEOVER: Despite the memories of Rosewood, a new start in Iceland had been refreshing. But now, returning to Rosewood brings back memories she'd rather forget.
INT. ARIA'S HOUSE - DAY
Aria's family arrives at their old house in Rosewood. Aria feels overwhelmed by memories of the past.
ELLA: (to Aria) Can you drive Mike to basketball practice?
ARIA: (reluctantly) Um, Mom? I don’t have my license.
ELLA: (insistent) You drove in Reykjavík all the time. Just wait for him until he’s done.
Aria sighs and agrees, pondering over her parents' relationship.
EXT. Basketball court - DAY
Aria drives Michelangelo to basketball practice, feeling disenchanted with Rosewood.
INT. SNOOKERS - DAY
Aria sits at the bar, feeling out of place in Rosewood. She strikes up a conversation with a guy named EZRA.
EZRA: (to Aria) You lived in Iceland? I once spent a few nights in Reykjavík.
They bond over their love for Iceland and their experiences there.

MAYA: You want that?
EMILY: (nervously) Um, no.
MAYA: Take any of it. See the sign?
EMILY: (politely) No, really, it’s okay.
MAYA: (extending hand) Maya St. Germain. Just moved here.
EMILY: (shaking hands) Emily.
They discuss Maya's move and the belongings left behind.
MAYA: Can you help me carry the rest of these boxes?
EMILY: (hesitant) Um, sure.

EMILY FIELDS's mother, Mrs. Fields, sits at the kitchen table, calmly doing her bills. EMILY enters, drinking Vanilla Coke.
MRS. FIELDS: Someone finally bought the DiLaurentises’ old house.
EMILY's reaction is immediate, the fizz of her drink tickling her nose.
EMILY: (surprised) Really?
MRS. FIELDS: Yes, and I was going to drop off that basket today. Maybe you want to do it instead?
EMILY: (reluctant) Mom, no.
MRS. FIELDS: (concerned) Sweetie, would it upset you too much?
EMILY glances at her older sister, CAROLYN, lounging in the den.
EMILY: No, I’ll do it.
She takes the keys and heads out.

INT. SPENCER'S BARN - NIGHT (CONTINUED)
Inside the barn, tension hangs heavy in the air as the girls grapple with Alison's sudden disappearance.
SPENCER: (whispering) Wait a second!
She cries out after a moment, slamming the door behind her and rushing outside.
ARIA: (opening her eyes) Ali? Guys?
She looks around, noticing the open door.
ARIA: (continuing) Where’s Alison?
Concern etches her features as she steps onto the porch, peering into the darkness.
ARIA: (whispering) Ali? Spencer?
Inside, Hanna and Emily rub their eyes, still dazed.
HANNA: I just had the weirdest dream.
EMILY: About Ali?
HANNA: Yeah, she fell down this really deep well, and there were all these giant plants.
EMILY: (nodding) Mine too. But there was a big plant, and I saw Alison’s shadow.
They exchange wide-eyed glances.
ARIA: (stepping back inside) Guys?
EMILY: (concerned) Are you okay?
ARIA: (pale) Where’s Alison? And Spencer?
HANNA: We don’t know.
Suddenly, Spencer bursts back into the barn, startling the others.
SPENCER: What?
HANNA: (quietly) Where’s Ali?
SPENCER: (whispering) I don’t know. I thought…I don’t know.
Silence falls over the group, broken only by the sound of tree branches scraping against the windows.
EMILY: (nervously) I think I want to go home.
The scene fades out as uncertainty and fear linger in the air.
