Are you someone who can't have gluten, dairy or have some other dietary restriction? Trying to watch your weight? Or maybe you just don't like the taste of tortillas? If you are, I have good news for you!
Introducing this lovely food:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Listen, guys...this isn't normally the kind of content I post. But these 'tortillas' (I don't know what else to call them) are a game changer in the best possible way! They're everything free. Dairy, gluten, carb, etc. Not sure how it's possible for 'em be dairy-free when they're made with egg whites, but🤷🏻‍♀️ And when I say carb free, I mean carb-free for everybody, not only those who count net carbs. As somebody who's trying to lose a lot of weight while simultaneously being addicted to things such as quesadillas and wraps, Egglife has been a blessing. As you can see from the picture, these particular ones have 5 protein for serving, but only 25 calories. This also makes them keto and paleo friendly. (For comparison purposes, a Mission flour tortilla of about the same size/serving has 140 calories, 4 protein and 25 carbs.) Big difference, right?
Now I know some of you may be looking at this post and saying to yourself, "Yeah, but I don't like the taste of eggs." Again, I have good news for you - these don't taste like eggs, or even egg whites. They're just sort of...there, same as a tortilla is. There's several different flavors of them too. I personally have tried the original, the everything bagel and the sweet cinnamon. I found the cinnamon to be good with 1 tablespoon (14 g) of peanut butter and a 1/2 tablespoon (8 g) of jelly. (Had to convert it for those of you who don't use freedom measurements😂🇺🇸) However, the cinnamon one wasn't flavorful enough to really stand out as a wrap I'd use for dessert purposes. I could do the same thing with the original and have less calories. Can confirm the original tastes good with some cheese melted on it, though! (I used 2 Kraft singles - to be fair, it really only needed one - because I like things extra cheesy, but you do you.) According to my mom, the original also makes a great omelette, especially when combined with some Old El Paso mild red enchilada sauce.
By me, a package of Egglife costs $6.99; as with anything else, price may vary depending on your geographical location. I've linked the website here so you can search for a store near you that carries them. With all of that being said, there are a few downsides, though. Namely:
They only come in a 6 pack at most stores. (I'm told Costco carries a 10 pack, but I haven't seen it in person to verify that.)
They're only available in the United States and Canada at the moment - as posted by the company here - but they do have plans to expand outward more in the future!
They're kinda expensive, both when you break it down to price per 'tortilla' and overall.
In conclusion, these are a wonderful product. I'm very familiar with the struggle of trying to juggle enjoying carb-heavy foods while simultaneously not eating too many carbs. For me personally, these Egglife 'tortillas' are the solution to that. Even though they have no carbs, my inner carb-junkie is satisfied - it sees the quesadilla and goes, "Ooh, we're eating a tortilla! Yay!" I'm not getting any kind of incentive to talk about these either, by the way. I've just really enjoyed my experience with 'em, so I wanted to share the product with people who might be interested, yet may not be aware of its existence. Egglife's FAQ section is also helpful - among other things, it includes the answer on where to find these in the store.
Hope this helps somebody out! Please feel free to reblog in order to spread the word, should you so desire. The more reblogs, the merrier!
P.S. If you tap/click the button above the map that says "save $2 on Egglife", you can submit a pic of your receipt the first time you purchase them to get your rebate back, either via Venmo or PayPal. Unfortunately, you can only submit one for number...I personally confirmed this😂 In my case, they approved my receipt and had my money to me within 8 hours. They also have different recipe ideas on their website too.
@anna-pineappel & @someguywriting, I know you two will be interested in this...assuming you don't know about it already.

Pigs in a Blanket
“You can’t put a limit on anything. The more you dream, the farther you get.”– Michael Phelps Jump to recipe This is one of my childhood recipes. When we were kids, my mom was less health conscious, so it was pork sausage and pork bacon. Later, she switched to turkey sausage and turkey bacon. Eventually, we compromised on pork sausage and turkey bacon. What puzzled me as a child was when you…

🚫🥓 The Truth About Keto: Why It’s Not the Way to Live 🥓🚫
Let’s talk about the ketogenic diet—the low-carb, high-fat craze that promises rapid weight loss and a “healthier” you. Sounds tempting, right? But let’s pause for a moment and look beyond the hype. Keto isn’t just unsustainable for most people—it can actually be harmful in the long run. Let’s break it down.
What Even Is Keto?
The ketogenic diet revolves around drastically reducing your carbohydrate intake (think 20–50 grams a day) and replacing it with fats. The idea is to push your body into a state of ketosis, where it burns fat for fuel instead of carbs.
Sounds science-y and legit, but here’s the catch: this isn’t how our bodies are designed to operate long-term.
Why Keto Isn’t Healthy
Sure, keto might work for short-term weight loss (emphasis on short-term), but at what cost?
1️⃣ 🚫 Nutritional Imbalance
Carbs aren’t the enemy—they’re essential! Whole grains, fruits, and legumes are packed with fiber, vitamins, and minerals. Cutting them out can leave your body deprived of key nutrients.
Keto often leads to overconsumption of saturated fats, which can increase your risk of heart disease.
2️⃣ 💩 Digestive Distress
Lack of fiber from carbs can wreak havoc on your gut. Constipation is a common issue, and a healthy gut microbiome needs those fibers to thrive.
3️⃣ 🧠 Brain Fog & Fatigue
Your brain needs glucose (from carbs!) to function optimally. While keto enthusiasts claim mental clarity, many people experience the opposite—brain fog, irritability, and fatigue.
4️⃣ 🍩 The Allure of Bingeing
Let’s be real: keto is restrictive. Cutting out entire food groups leads to cravings, which can spiral into disordered eating patterns. Food shouldn’t be about guilt or “cheating.”
Keto: Not a Lifestyle
Keto is marketed as a “lifestyle,” but can you really imagine avoiding bread, pasta, or fruit forever? Food is meant to be enjoyed, shared, and celebrated—not micromanaged and feared.
Unsustainable: Most people regain the weight they lose on keto because it’s so hard to stick with.
Social Isolation: Imagine going out with friends and obsessing over whether a meal has 5 grams of carbs too many. Not fun, right?
Instead of keto, focus on balance and sustainability:
🥦 Whole Foods First: Fruits, veggies, grains, proteins, and fats all have a place on your plate.
⚖️ Moderation Over Restriction: Life isn’t about all-or-nothing. A flexible, balanced diet is healthier and more enjoyable.
🧘 Focus on Wellness: Food is fuel, but it’s also joy, culture, and connection. Prioritize health in a way that feels good for you, not punishing or extreme.
The Keto Aesthetic Isn’t Worth the Health Risks
We get it—keto influencers make it look glossy and effortless. But those before-and-after pictures don’t tell the full story. Diet culture thrives on making you feel inadequate so you’ll buy their products, their meal plans, their cookbooks.
Keto isn’t a magic fix—it’s a marketing ploy wrapped in bacon. And you? You’re worth more than that.
🚨 PSA: Keto isn’t a sustainable or healthy way to live. 🚨 Food is so much more than numbers and macros. Let’s nourish ourselves with balance, variety, and kindness—because life’s too short to skip the bread basket. 🥖💖

A Smooth Shot of Whiskey Makes The Health Risks Go Down....
Yes. I want to talk about it. This comes as a surprise to me, but drinking whiskey in moderation can significantly improve your health. I knew it. All those cowboy shows I’ve watched over the years had it right. The cowboys were throwing back a shot of whiskey, and they got it right. Unfortunately, I have never had a taste for whiskey. It sure looks nice and smooth in the bottle, but that burn…
