Are you someone who can't have gluten, dairy or have some other dietary restriction? Trying to watch your weight? Or maybe you just don't like the taste of tortillas? If you are, I have good news for you!
Introducing this lovely food:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Listen, guys...this isn't normally the kind of content I post. But these 'tortillas' (I don't know what else to call them) are a game changer in the best possible way! They're everything free. Dairy, gluten, carb, etc. Not sure how it's possible for 'em be dairy-free when they're made with egg whites, but🤷🏻‍♀️ And when I say carb free, I mean carb-free for everybody, not only those who count net carbs. As somebody who's trying to lose a lot of weight while simultaneously being addicted to things such as quesadillas and wraps, Egglife has been a blessing. As you can see from the picture, these particular ones have 5 protein for serving, but only 25 calories. This also makes them keto and paleo friendly. (For comparison purposes, a Mission flour tortilla of about the same size/serving has 140 calories, 4 protein and 25 carbs.) Big difference, right?
Now I know some of you may be looking at this post and saying to yourself, "Yeah, but I don't like the taste of eggs." Again, I have good news for you - these don't taste like eggs, or even egg whites. They're just sort of...there, same as a tortilla is. There's several different flavors of them too. I personally have tried the original, the everything bagel and the sweet cinnamon. I found the cinnamon to be good with 1 tablespoon (14 g) of peanut butter and a 1/2 tablespoon (8 g) of jelly. (Had to convert it for those of you who don't use freedom measurements😂🇺🇸) However, the cinnamon one wasn't flavorful enough to really stand out as a wrap I'd use for dessert purposes. I could do the same thing with the original and have less calories. Can confirm the original tastes good with some cheese melted on it, though! (I used 2 Kraft singles - to be fair, it really only needed one - because I like things extra cheesy, but you do you.) According to my mom, the original also makes a great omelette, especially when combined with some Old El Paso mild red enchilada sauce.
By me, a package of Egglife costs $6.99; as with anything else, price may vary depending on your geographical location. I've linked the website here so you can search for a store near you that carries them. With all of that being said, there are a few downsides, though. Namely:
They only come in a 6 pack at most stores. (I'm told Costco carries a 10 pack, but I haven't seen it in person to verify that.)
They're only available in the United States and Canada at the moment - as posted by the company here - but they do have plans to expand outward more in the future!
They're kinda expensive, both when you break it down to price per 'tortilla' and overall.
In conclusion, these are a wonderful product. I'm very familiar with the struggle of trying to juggle enjoying carb-heavy foods while simultaneously not eating too many carbs. For me personally, these Egglife 'tortillas' are the solution to that. Even though they have no carbs, my inner carb-junkie is satisfied - it sees the quesadilla and goes, "Ooh, we're eating a tortilla! Yay!" I'm not getting any kind of incentive to talk about these either, by the way. I've just really enjoyed my experience with 'em, so I wanted to share the product with people who might be interested, yet may not be aware of its existence. Egglife's FAQ section is also helpful - among other things, it includes the answer on where to find these in the store.
Hope this helps somebody out! Please feel free to reblog in order to spread the word, should you so desire. The more reblogs, the merrier!
P.S. If you tap/click the button above the map that says "save $2 on Egglife", you can submit a pic of your receipt the first time you purchase them to get your rebate back, either via Venmo or PayPal. Unfortunately, you can only submit one for number...I personally confirmed this😂 In my case, they approved my receipt and had my money to me within 8 hours. They also have different recipe ideas on their website too.
@anna-pineappel & @someguywriting, I know you two will be interested in this...assuming you don't know about it already.

4 Ways I Love To Use egglife Wraps
I first had the opportunity to try egglife wraps over the summer. It’s an intriguing concept – they are what is essentially a tortilla made from eggs. I love that they are high protein and lower carb and calorie! As a mom who is a few months postpartum with my third child and working on building muscle while maintaining my milk supply and sticking to a workout schedule while also needing energy…
