I just wanted to come on here and say

1. If your first thought when reading a fic about rape and recovery and sensitive topics like that is, “wow I think this can very easily be interpreted as hot and sexy and borderline pornographic (please be mindful of the literal word PORN meaning television programs, magazines, books, etc. that are regarded as emphasizing the sensuous or sensational aspects of a nonsexual subject and stimulating a compulsive interest in their audience)” that’s actually a you problem and harassing the author is fucking nuts!

Having those thoughts in and of themselves when reading this kind of stuff is already disgusting. But who can blame him? He’s a man. This is nothing against him but men are taught to literally view women as objects and anything they do as sexual so of course that’s going to be his first thought when readying about fucking sexual abuse.

2. If you’re mad at the author for telling someone to die, you can be rightfully upset, but being tormented for their work like this author has, then being prompted to respond to the outlandish claims people are making may or may not make someone say stuff like that because they are literally being told that their suffering and pain is seen as pleasurable to others. That’s fucking crazy.

And I just wanna circle back to the whole porn thing because the person attacking the author is really honing in on calling their work porn. At first glance, the usage of the term may feel weird to readers and if you felt that weird feeling, you have every reason to. The term porn implies sexual undertones that are meant to be viewed as pleasurable.

You know, maybe saying something sounded like porn would hold up if, idk, the author talked about how the victims boobs gracefully bounced as she was being tortured. THAT would be fucked up. See how there’s a difference between writing a tragic story and writing borderline porn? If you don’t, you need to take a break from the internet and never return because I can smell your living in your parents basement stench from my phone and it’s gross.
